Honestly love the game but getting a bit tired of the deck getting further stacked against the power role. Gen speeds wildly out of control, second chance crutch perks and uncounterable situations. Yet my killers power is easily counterable.
And what's worse if this daft ptb goes to live there is 0 reward for the killer to play the game how they apparently want us to play it.

Hens just put out a video that showcases her strength pretty well.
Shouldn't really gauge a killers strength on someone who literally lives and breathes DBD with 10k+ hours.
Killer is average at best IMO.
-
Outside of chaos shuffle if I see a No Mither player as killer I'm heading straight for the basement, 85% of the time you're finding someone in there doing an invocation (weaving spiders) and likely as soon as you down them they'll DC XD

Oh yeah, because if the killer isn't applying enough pressure giving us time to do gens then we should just run around aimlessly instead of doing the only objective at hand and wait around to get killed killed. Gen-rushing is almost nonexistent, I'm sorry to tell you. I'm not going to say "skill issue" because I'm generous enough to actually consider people have the skill, but I'm pretty sure if generators are popping, you aren't doing something right.
Tunneling and gen rushing are the same thing I'm afraid, as in, they both achieve either sides objectives with the most efficiency.
-
You mean you didn't know?
Role: killer
Task: Under no circumstances are you to do your objective of killing survivors, you must observe only.
Until the gens are completed you are to stay a recommended 32 meters away from any survivor, once complete you are to stand at exit gate and watch as survivors crouch up and down rapidly until they deem it their time to leave.
Apparently ....
-
Honestly any scenario that involves the killer going back to hook to find the survivors healing under it is a massive skill issue on the survivors...
Let me spell it out for you, real simple:
DON'T HEAL UNDER HOOKS
No killer should be punished for terrible survivor plays.

Good thing literally none of that is in the patch notes and it's just hyperbole you're convincing yourself of.
Didn't really age well this post did it? π€£

You know technically using a Map Offering IS Map voting, if you don't bring one you let fate choose, if you do you just voted for your map of choice π

Okay but what about having βFriendshipβ Moris just like the Friendship fatalities? π
You know, that would be hilarious, i'd be down for it π

I kinda started DBD after the whole Stranger Things license got pulled and never got to play on Hawkins at the time and I was like "aww man i'll never get to play that map" β¦ let's just say, be careful what you wish for β¦.
-
Man I'm on the opposite side of the argument here, I wanna see some Mortal Kombat Fatalities level of Mori's lol

If you think this challenge is bad wait till you gotta get Iri Gatekeeperβ¦8 timesβ¦

It does but i dont abandon it cuz i cant get used to cameras and such its cuz on a SWF there are constantly denying my power
He's essentially Trapper 2.0 in that regard...
-
I gotta say, doing those challenges was pain, his power is shut down so easily its laughable. Almost felt like I was playing Trapper π
-
Used to main Trapper but once you reach a certain level of Survivors it just becomes demoralising to watch your traps you spent 3 gens setting up get disarmed lol
So now I main Knight with a bit of Onryo and Wesker on the side π
-
OK here's my take for what it's worth π
The Trapper - The poster boy done dirty by having to collect his power and set it up before even being able to use it only to have it shut down immediately by at least half competent survivors. Still has a soft place in my heart though.
The Wraith - A mostly well rounded experience either as or against though I mostly lose either way π
The Hillbilly - Love his lore and his aesthetic but keeps getting dealt a rough hand by the devs which is a big shame.
The Nurse - The only killer that has to do a DC check at the beginning of a match lol, can't stand playing her though as her power makes me feel sick.
The Shape - 9 times outta 10 I find myself getting stuck like a pig on the end of his knife, buuuut his alright π
The Hag - Scares the piss out of me every time I step near a trap, love play as and against this one π³
The Doctor - I just love exploding gen ASMR, nuff said π
The Huntress - If you can dodge an axe you can dodge a dodgeball ... except the axe has a hit box the size of a beachball π
The Cannibal - "I <3 Bubba" to quote yourself π
The Nightmare - Almost as M1 as the trapper, faced him like 4 times and was meh all the time, never felt the need to play him...ever...
The Pig - Most of the time I get the boop the snoot piggies π· so a fun killer over all.
The Clown - "ONE OF MY LEAST FAVORITES! HES SO BORING!!! He just spams the bottles and theres no (fun) counterplay!" I agree with this sentiment entirely.
The Spirit - Oh so sweaty .... dislike playing as and against this one.
The Leigon - The chase music for this killer is more obnoxious than Weskers honestly but usually an interesting match, never used them myself tho.
The Plague - LOVE playing as this one, but I can't handle playing against her as the vomiting the survivors do actually makes me ill π
The Ghost Face - An alright killer to play as but every time I go against one they are the most toxic d-bags of all time.
The Demogorgon - Come on who doesn't love a good Demodoggy, just a shame I missed out on the stranger things dlc so I can't ever get to play him π’
The Oni - The big angry boi just wants a hug bless him.
The Deathslinger - A killer for COD players through and through this one.
The Executioner - A decently rounded killer with some truly terrible addons, what's not to enjoy here?
The Blight - A killer that I would never likely have the skill to.play as well but it's always a good match to verse ... so long as they aren't 4 man slugging of course lol
The Twins - a sibling duo for the ages these two.
The Trickster - a painful the verse and a pain the play but dammit there's just something I love about this killer, the lore is great too.
The Nemesis - STAAAARS! That is all..
The Cenobite - a decent killer all round and one of my favourite to verse or play as but that cube denial build is just... there is a special place in Hell for those people just saying π
The Artist - about as fun as jumping into a pit of needles...just ask the Pig how that felt...
The Onryo - SADAKO, SADAKO, SADAKO! A killer that needs to have the damn lullaby removed from her STEALTH power, first killer I started maining at will always enjoy no mutter how bad she is.
The Dredge - A pretty solid match for and against this one and the skins are just amazing especially the dolls.
The Mastermind - Best cartoon villain in video gaming ever to be conceived bar none, fantastic killer all round and those voice lines are just *chefs kiss*
The Knight - gonna have to hate me my guy as this killer is my new main but I don't stand for that 3 gen nonsense, guard sniping is my game hehe. Map of the Realm addon absolutely should be basekit though.
The Skull Merchant - Never played as or against this one as I don't actually own this killer yet as her perks and power just do not interest me at all. And from the content I have seen of her I feel kind of vindicated there π
Thh Singularity - with a lore that's all over the place and a power that's almost as easy to counter as the trapper the only reason I got this killer were the perks Forced hesitation and Made for This lol.
That's just my opinion though π

My last 10 games have been filled with high level players and I'm finding Knight matches very tricky indeed. Getting plenty of 0 and 1k's right now as the survivors have answers for absolutely everything Knight throws at them. Playing fairly as Knight is asking to lose. The only 3 or 4k's I get are if I tunnel one out on 1 or 2 gens left.
Wow I thought it was just me, I freaking love playing the Knight but lately I've been on 0-1k games currently 18 or 20 in a row...kinda lost count π€£
I'm not asking to 4k every game but it'd be nice not to see 3 gens pop during my first chase π
-
@Spirit_IsTheBest said:
I'm tired of it as well, this game has zero variety. All it is are Wesker matches and then throw in some Knights and Blights. Nothing else. It's boring facing that all the time, especially when they use VPN's and such to gain hits they shouldn't have gotten, it gets on my nerves.
I really hope that they add a system where you don't face the same killer all the time, kind of like the map system they made to prevent going to the same map, they should do that for killers.
I can tell you this for free, that whole map cycle thing, to prevent you from seeing the same map...is bs...because for 6 games in a row I saw nothing but corn π€£

@CrowVortex said:
I mostly do the quality of life addons that should be basekit imo.
Like Artists' severed hands addon or Dredge's Haddie's calendar. But addons that do mangled are nice too and free's up a perk slot.
I'm honestly the same when it comes to the Knights "Map of the Realm" and "Call to Arms" addons...the former should absolutely be basekit.
-
@Xendritch said:
Yeah some cenobites do that and run face the darkness and thrill of the hunt and game becomes pretty much unplayable lol. Pig can kinda do that too and make getting traps off a nightmare but at least that's progressing the game, cenobite can nearly take the game hostage.
It certainly was something lol
Sad thing is, it actually made a change from the usual gen stomp builds π€£
-
All BHVR need to do is add a cancel lunge feature to a killers lunge attack to better bait out a DH because as it stands now its potential to waste a killers time in chase is mad high.
-
Hmm Trickster I dunno, I kinda like where he's at but I'm a m/kB player so it's a touch easier to use his power.
As for The Knight here's what I'd do (and I will likely get told it's a good thing I'm not in game design lol).
1: Carnifex needs to switch his hunt timer with assassin but in exchange get the deep wound effect.
2: Survivors seeing the green orb and the threat radius needs to go too. Make it so the only time to use his power in an meaningful manner isn't to just dump it and force the survivor away from loops.
3: The add-ons that cause a mangled effect and a hemorrhage effect should be basekit on the Jailer and the Assassin respectively.
4: allow greater room to use his power so it isn't gimped in narrow spaces but increase the space you can activate when near a hook.
5: and make it a different button to quickly access the orders instead of having to find the room to use his power.
As of now it's dead easy to avoid his guards and also get them stuck in the scenery, not to mention forcing the knight into positions where he can't even drop his power.
I don't know what to do about the 3 gen thing he seems to have going on though cos honestly I don't play him that way π
Just my 2 pence, take it for what it is.
-
Honestly I played normally for a few hooks, made sure not to kill any survivors and just as the last gen was done jumped into a snowman, memed about until the others were in snowmen and then..uhh..miss clicked hehehe
-
The only real issue I have playing as him is how fat the bubble is to use his power, you spend more time backing up and moving side to side to try and even activate it than you actually do using it half the time.
-
I'll admit I only started playing DBD recently but have heard horror stories of last year's Xmas event and how bad it was for killers.
At least I won't have to turn my heating on to start sweating for a 2k π
-
I love a full lobby of flashlights, slap lightborn on but don't make it obvious you have it so they keep wasting precious time trying to save when it's impossible to succeed and then, when it's 2v1 and that save really matters, just stare...stare long and hard into the soul of the last survivor and see the moment they realised...it was all for nothing MWUAHAHAHAHAHA!
-
When I saw that title...
-
I'd like it if No Way Out would work a bit differently with this in mind, instead of activating the minute you touch the gate switch, it should activate at its completion, in a sense jamming the door shut instead of blocking the switch.
That way it can really throw a spanner in the works for those whom 99 the darn switch, but I gotta agree it does need some kind of regression mechanic.
-
Ahh the knights power is increased of you have read or heard the story of Goldilocks and the three bears... Cos you know it's gotta be "just right" to use his power π
-
New map "looks" amazing but i find myself thinking I found scratch marks for it to only be yet more burning embers π
-
Oh god...another underdog killer that I'm gonna have to main to punish myself... Looks like my boy trapper has some competition at last π€£
-
Was playing a killer match today on mother's dwelling, this duo SWF were running flashies and sticking to each other like glue hoping to get saves.
I must state now that I had no lightborn or Franklin's as it's pretty rare anyone who uses flashies actual CAN use them.
After the save was failed both in the open and during a locker grab they both DC'ed...at 5 gens...1 hook...
I farmed and chilled with the other two but for crying out loud people gotta stop throwing a fit on this game when they realise they aren't gonna ROFL stomp some poor noob, it's pathetic.
The penalty escalation needs to be far steeper, maybe a mark of shame for 48hrs for being a serial offender so nobody will game with them or slam them with a -50% bloodpoint debuff if time is not a strong enough deterrent.
-
Survivor: Any perk that offers a third health state especially Dead Hard.
Killer: hmm this one's tough, its killer powers that usually are a pain but maybe lethal pursuer, as a killer main that perk is an auto pick almost every time.

VPN is one way streamers deal with hacking streamsnipers from what I've heard, if they prevent that from working, that's one less way content creators can defend themselves.
Ahh yes, I forgot about that little snag.
Then the only other thing is being able to see what players Pings are in the lobby so you can dodge, not a great solution but it's a start π

i know that there are surviors doing this too, but usually when u get high ping as surv u are more likely to die anyway unless whey are teleporting badly
In some cases, but there is nothing more frustrating than swinging at a survivor and then watching them rubber band 5 meters behind you only to turn around and then watch them rubber band back in the direction were just facing add infinitum.
And I can only imagine how frustrating it is to be downed at a pallet when you're on the other side of it, it be fuming honestly π
Realistically I don't think there is much BHVR can do about this unless there is a way to block VPN users from the servers...
-
I have this problem playing killer too, one minute a survivor is in front of me and then they are teleporting all around me with a fat ping of 300, somewhat annoying that π
-
@EntitySpawn said:
Turn your camera so the actual wiggle helps you walk in that direction it helps alot, you're basically walking sideways and it helps a bunch.
I hate those survivors that dont have boil over but are making it impossible to walk as if they have boil over on steroids, no idea what causes it and it's rare but that's annoying whatever it is
Honestly nothing more fun than having the survivor carry themselves to the hook π€£
-
I'd just like an option to toggle the power because oh boy is it a pain on trapper π
"Ok let's reset this tra...f'ing neeeeeeeowwwww!"
-
Yeah it's not off...that just seems to be it's natural state, I got destroyed by an surprisingly nice group of survivors as Trapper, in the end game they asked how long I'd been playing cos they had 5k hours in the game... I had just over 300hrs π
-
Honestly after 3 games of trying I decided to go around it with the Killer challenges which are by far and away easier than that cursed challenge π it remains to this day the only one in that tome left to do and I will never feel the need to clear it π
-
Most annoying... Probably Huntress, my got that freaking tune lingers in my brain for about ten games after... don't even get me started on her Babba Yaga version.
Also getting sniped from about 40,000 light-years away is a pain in the booty π
-

Trapper
Eyyy don't do my boy dirty like this π

I think another thing that would be at least a reasonable Idea would be the random traps spawn in open instead of closed.
-
@jesterkind said:
Trapper got some pretty respectable buffs relatively recently, so I imagine he's not on the radar for buffs for a little while. Still, it'd be nice to see some more love, he's still suffering in a few ways.
Personally, I'd love to see his traps spawn closer to the centre of the map so he doesn't have to go extremely out of his way to actually have access to all of his power.
Good lord I'd love it if his traps spawned a bit closer to the middle, I never thought of that, ...would make Mother's Dwelling a shade more bearable π
-
I too one day hope that trapper will see some love but I don't see it happening honestly.
The only way to improve on him would be to make his traps hard to see like an almost but not quite wraith cloak effect to make them effective on all maps not just ones with long grass which can mostly be negated by playing the game with graphics settings turned down anyway.
That or make them impossible to disarm without a toolbox kind of like how you need a torch to disarm hag traps because as it stands all you need to do is have one survivor running around disarming traps while two blow through gens while the last is being chased.
Just my opinion though, take it for what it is.

I have to admit, I was one of those whiners.
Still I played her and loved her. She has the right feeling which is the most important part in a Killer.
The main issue with her is that you rarely see the effects of your slowdown, stealth or chasing power. You do not see how much you condemned somebody and you have no idea when you are invisible to a survivor, when you are flickering and what those damn "longer flickering" and "different flickering" add-ons do.
This led to a weird scenario for me: I win my matches but I have no idea how and when it was my power or how I could improve here.
Maybe she does not need a buff, but a slight hint when and how much you are flickering would be nice.
With regard to the invisibility issue, as you're playing her watch her hands, they will phase in and out of visibility, essentially when you see her hands the survivors can see you but I am not sure how latency may change that if it even does.
-
Only advice I can give would be to look up Lynxi on YouTube as she is a Twins main and has a few "how to" videos on playing them.
I've only really played them for dailies but what I did play they seemed fun but definitely underpowered... And that's coming from a Trapper main π
-
At this rate if we keep giving away all these basekits may as well give killers 16 perk slots to be more in line with the survivors π€£
I play a fair bit of solo/duo survivor, I always take kindred and mess about with the other three perks, kindred honestly can win games so making it base is a bad idea.
Just take it as an auto include and play around with the other 3 slots cos even if you running 3 perks that's still a total of 12vs4 at the end of the day. π€·ββοΈ
-
I really love playing Trapper...
Man I must hate myself π
-
It wouldn't be all that bad if when in the pre lobby it would show that the survivors are in group play because let me tell you, being a trapper main and going against SWF is nigh impossible to win or even 2k.
It just gives people who wanna play killers that are inherently bad Vs this kind of play a chance to dip out of the game and let a nurse main hop in and ruin their day hehe.
That or let the killer actually be able to switch killers during pre lobby to fit the possibility of a SWF team.
