Well I know barely anything about old Freddy. Never got to play as him or against him considering I found the game a year after his rework but I know General and he’s a good friend of mine. I know how knowledgeable of old Freddy he is and I don’t think it’s fair to diminish his experience when he has put a lot of dedication into him.

Maybe it came abit wrong but I never intended to question his experience sry then about that.

You guys are trying to pick fights you can’t win. General has more input on old Freddy than any of you have put together. Trying to argue with him about it like you know more than him is like trying to argue with me about Spirit.

I am not trying to make fun of him or trying to pick up a fight here. I am just honest and also you cannot deny that a Killer with literally no Power except "stealth" cannot be good or strong, you can have as much experience as you want the Killer itsself will still be bad. I am not questioning the skill of players who like old Freddy but only because you like him doesnt make him strong. Keep in mind I am talking about if a old Freddy faced good survivors, I am not talking about survivors who just do dailys or challanges or just fool around, a efficient team that are aiming to escape will have an easy time against old Freddy.

  • @dugman said:

Facecamping as Doctor seems like a particularly terrible strategy considering his kit has some of the best tracking in the game. He’s way better off proactively going after survivors than waiting for them to come to him.

However beeing able to stop someone from unhooking entirely is pretty powerful, if you know someone is close to death or reaches struggle, you should go back and secure that extra free hook stage/kill.

  • @chargernick85 said:

All I know is I play games to have fun. Current Freddy is no where close to fun. Im betting a lot of people would have not asked for the re-work if they had known where he would end up today. If all you care about is 4k then you might like this version better. If you like a fun killer over winning or losing then it sounds like Old Freddy was better in this regard.

This current add-on less bag of trash we have now is lame.

Well the thing is Freddy wasnt fun for either side (old). He had no power at all in chases, he was just a hit and run Killer just like wraith, the only difference is that you repair gens REALLY slow in the dream world which was really unfun in the part of the survivors. He just dragged out the game and it felt like a chore to play against him since he never is a threat really, more like just annoying.

I agree, old MoM was busted. I do think they should lower it down to 2 protection hits instead of 3. They way overnerfed it.

Honestly I think that would be abit strong though, but I do agree that 3 is also abit rough to make, but think that way, getting to take an extra hit is pretty damn strong so in the end taking 3 hits is justified imo.

GeneralV does not like some stuffs from old DbD, wow! Should we worry about apocalypse, friend? 🤔

Showing footage of survivors that play mediocre at best against a experienced Killer who is also trying pretty hard to win isnt really a proper way to show or proof anything.

You could do some pressure with Freddy back then but if you had more then 5 brain cells you could easily reset without much issues. I met back then quiete a few old Freddy mains and me and my squad bullied them all, some even Dcd cuz they just couldnt keep up. If you have enough experience you can outweight his strategy rather easily. Not saying current Freddy is much better but old Freddy wasnt really a "hidden top tier killer" as some ppl make it out to be. its porbably just nostalgia.

I can prove you wrong with a single match, if BHVR listen to me.

I know that juggle and pressure build/playstyle but it still wasnt strong, it was mediocre at best.

  • @GeneralV said:

Do you have even the slightest idea of how terrible it was to be a Freddy main against Old MoM?

A killer that was all about control doesn't exactly should deal with a third, unavoidable health state.

Old MoM is one of the two things from the past that I do not miss, which is saying something.

oh man old Freddy, sry to say this but old Freddy was just upright bad 🤣 Current Freddy isnt much better though.

Maybe I don't slug often enough or don't pay attention to it, but if you are right then 3 years definitely is over due.

Ye I mean it doesnt affect me like every time I slug, but I do get sometimes situations where I cant find a slug anymore and mostly due to that bug, in some situations it can even cost you the game since you lose a potential hook which is devesating, especially if you play against sweaty tryhards.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I swear this has been fixed, or atleast fixed to the point where it's a very rare occurrence because I can not recall experiencing this in a long time.

As for your comment where survivor bugs get fixed quickly, one thing that is important to mention is that in both cases you mentioned they were killer specific and there were very few variables to go through, while for any bug that effects all killers there's a ton of variables to go through.

I get your point but again... 3 years?

I do get the silent slugs rather frequent, I would say maybe 1-2 slugs every 4-5th game.

  • This man was speed running this text holy crap.

How exactly it is abusing by survivors? It is so random bug. You can not know when it will happen. If you are meaning survivors are not staying on ground you down them, they don't have to stay. This was your choice to leave them on ground. And even without bug survivors will leave location for make you waste more time. Bug should fix but it is not abusable.

Well you are right you cannot directly abuse it in that sense, what I mean by abusing is that, lemme try to explain my situation. I played on dead dawg and the survivors basicly greeded and threw the entire game just to try to get my ruin totem. I did a 3k slug and no one had unbreakable (I didnt slug trying to be toxic, they literally ran into me all the time cuz they wanted to do the totem and also try to do a pallet save on me). After I hooked the first one the other 2 where shown to me with BBQ. I had a rough idea where they went, I obviously went there and couldnt find their exact location, both survivors had the bug and it was quiete obvious that I knew where they where but not exactly where. The game was over, everyone was slugged, there was no point in keep hiding but they still went both inside those very thicc bushes of dead dawg. I had to run around the all of these bushes and spam space bar, it took me like 3-4 min to FINALLY find them both and hook them.

Again there was literally no point in keep hiding, they just stretched out the game for no reason and also they knew I was trying to find them but they kept hiding for no reason. Thats what I mean with "abusing". If I play survivor and something like this happen I gladly come out and let the killer hook me, I am anyway dead in a situation like this, it is just a unecessarely stretch to keep hiding for both sides.

I wouldn't be surprised, stretch res will never be dead. *insert ghost face pallet stun noise here*

I still love to see how stretch players desperately try to use the excuse "it just looks better" but in the same moment try everything in their power to tinker somehow with the engine files and stuff to break again the FOV to keep using it after the patch. Right they are definetly not using it because of an advantage, just because they "like" it.

Are you really asking this question? They fixed cosmetic glitch several times and i am still seeing Jeryl mains. This is the state of the glitch they care about and are trying to fix. What do you think the chances of other bugs are?

We got a plenty of pretty "annoying" survivor bugs that got fixed in days.

At the Doctor rework when it came out, there was a bug that Ds couldnt been used in T3, got fixed in 3 days. There was a bug with Legions filthy blade that was able to stack the mend timer, it also got fixed in days.

I can go on with examples, however we have this silent slug bug since years and it is obvously still getting abused by survivors to this day.

  • @Tr1nity said:

Glad to know you’re having fun.

thank you, dont worry you will see in the future more, I didnt wrote that I will keep making posts if I get more hackers in the future for no reason.

  • It is an undeniable fact that the comparison of 4 survivors bringing their strongest perks and items/addons against a killer (Except Nurse) bringing their strongest possible set up, survivors have still a higher and better chance of "winning" than the Killer does. Even a Mori cant outweight that, however you are right that most ppl to seem to overreact and make up things that arent necesseraly true.

Biggest take, CoH isnt as OP or busted as ppl make it out to be, sure its annoying but it isnt strong, I rather play against 2 CoH then 2 Medkits with charges, medkits are still way stronger than CoH.

There are more topics like that ofc. Sadly the majority of the Killer playerbase are just cry babys, myself included.

However you should also keep in mind that playing Killer (especially as Main role) is much more stressful and frustrating than survivor, by far.

  • Oni:

Renjiro's Katana (Purple): After initiating a Demon Dash you see the aura of all survivors within 6 Meters around you for 3 sec.

Akitos Bandage (Purple): Blood orbs now slowly move towards the closest survivor if they are within a 8 Meter range around them. Blood orbs that are moving are revealed to you in a yellow aura.

    Nemesis:

Reworked* Licker Tongue (Green): After infecting a survivor with your tentacle strike, the survivor cannot run for 0,5 sec. (Kinda like a mini pin head chain hit)

Mr X's Hat (Purple): While you rdy up your tentacle you see the auras of infected survivors around you in a 6 Meter range.

Blight has some of the best add-ons in the game, as far as killer powers go. I could make arguments for nerfing almost every single one of his add-ons, but why? The game will never be in a balanced state. Survivors having styptic agents is perfectly alright, they're a single-use item, which is vastly different from how killer add-ons work. Survivors don't know what the match is going to be like ahead of time, so bringing a one-off item like a styptic could prove a monumental waste. I personally would like to see more of it, not going to lie. It's refreshing to see good survivor gameplay when someone takes a hit, applies a styptic, and then another one to body-block a hook effectively, I love to see those kinds of plays as a killer. It's vastly more entertaining (and challenging) than rolling over 4 potatoes with little effort.

I generally don't understand how people let their emotions rise because they got outplayed, killers and survivors alike. Good sportsmanship includes acknowledging your opponents skill, and taking the L gracefully. I see very little of this in DBD as of late. I also don't subscribe to the argument that "It takes no skill to press M2". Sure, anyone can apply a styptic, but to make the styptic count for something, yeah, good luck. Sure it can be used to prolong a chase slightly, however I don't think that's the best way of using them. There's nothing more clutch than being injured during the EGC, and making it past a killer because I still had a styptic, or saving someone from deathhook with a well-timed bodyblock.

I think you get the wrong picture here. I dont mind if someone uses stuff pretty smart and outplayed me with that. But here is the point ... "outplayed", there is nothing about outplaying someone if your opponent literally cannot do anything against your "play". That is the only thing I am complaining about, sure I dont mind that styptic is a very nishe addon, but it doesnt justify having a moment where you will gain 100% benefit out of it withotu any downside. That is my only point, I never said nerf survivors, nerf swf or anyting alike.

  • Twins needs anti loop? You have victor lol he has only 6sec cooldown and you can even sandwich ppl at pallets, dont know where you get this from honestly.

  • @ObservantOfTime said:

Survivors can have nice things too, you know? Considering how many killers either have powers or add-ons that expose you, a counter to that in the form of a styptic seems fair, even if it's still extremely situational and not always practical for use.

Kinda funny how ppl find arguments like this but then say alchemists ring is absolutely busted and has no counterplay. Not implaying anything that you said something like this but yes I agree, my point here is that in THAT particular scenario it is too strong just like alchemists ring is, both deserve a nerf.

  • @CryptFriend said:

I doubt they are talking about general "camping" and "tunneling". It's probably the fringe stuff they're making fun of, otherwise they're being weird.

Tell me a logical reasoning behind face-camping someone at five gens. Scenario: You've found this person as the game started, because they were within your line of sight as the camera panned around.

Or defend tunneling someone out at five gens. Scenario: You've chased this poor ####### around the map, and it's clear that no gens have been worked on, and yet this dude must die? Why not go for the unhooker either time--clearly nobody is doing anything, so it's a perfect time to commit to two hits!

You can't--it's dumb. The correct answer is "go spread pressure" because worst-case scenario they get pulled off hook and you get to cut their death timer a bit shorter when you catch them again.

Do you have a problem with a survivor poking fun at that sort of behavior post-match? I know that I don't.

Calling out general camping and tunneling is pretty silly though, yeah.

I used to think exactly like you^^

I had in the past games like that and went "easy" on survivors if something like this happens, ofc this doesnt happen often but it can happen, that the survivors reset themselves and they all suddenly play absolutely perfect without giving you any chance to gain more hooks or pressure somehow, you lose the game then and then they teabag you at the gate with some ez gg baby tunneler ######### go ######### your mother in the chat.

What I am trying to say is, I will never underestimate players again even if I feel bad, only if someone might die quickly doesnt mean automaticly the person is a bad player or that your game is a save win. Ofc considering if I play for Kills, sometimes I just want to farm BPs so in that case I go abit easier on survivor cuz I want my 4 BBQ stacks.

So if you call out a person for blatantly cheating and laugh at them, you're being salty?

Because even if that's on a different level, it's the same reaction. I'll poke fun at someone if I want to, no need for them to try and project their own insecurities on my words.

I believe that's the point he's making. You're misunderstanding because you're getting distracted by a perceived slight.

Sometimes, an opponent plays in a strange or unorthodox way--nothing wrong with calling out that it's different. There's not even necessarily an implied insult attached.

(And yes, "survivor main," "idiot," whatever--I get that people will accuse me of being stupid and salty. You know I play killer too, I commented on your post with advice about more obscure killer mechanics)

Ye I get that in that sense, however cheating and a gameplay strategy are completly different things, if he would do that by lets say if the Killer uses a Mori, then I wouldnt say anything about that cuz I do the exact same thing, or with noed. However Tunneling, Camping and Slugging are heavily needed strategys which still has plenty of counterplay and also dont even pay off sometimes if you do that so I dont really get the point of calling someone out for that. Even if that is meant in a funny way, there is absolutely nothing funny or weird about it, its like that someone would laugh at me cuz I have Autism. Its just there and it exists, sure its abit of an exagerating example since I dont have the choice for it, however the strategys are basicly in the base game needed and exist since the beginning of dbd for a reason, we all know how balanced dbd is.

As far as I can ascertain his point is that when he behaves in a traditionally salty manner (i.e. claiming people "played dirty" when they followed the game rules) people think he is salty. As far as why he believes that is a failure on their part, and not a reason to reassess his own behavior however, I cannot say.

Seems to me like someone wants attention or my brain isnt developed enough to understand this glorious thought process.

Also if you are not upset about it what is the point of it calling it out then? Dont really get the reason behind it then, I mean its not like some Killers like me give really a ######### if you say that xD

So something that does what it does is actaally abuse as long as its something survivors use? Its onetime use and its a purple addon. Use franklins if youre scared of medkits.

thank you for that amazing tip I bet you must be a great teacher

  • @Sally_S_gay_son said:

I do agree it's super powerful, I love to use it myself, but since you only got one hook that team obviously knew what they were doing and how / when to use it and were a swf so I do not think styptic was the sole reason they won.

Also it's one time use per trial, unlike some bs killer add ons that you get to use the entire game.

Agree it wasnt the sole reason I lost, I have to say that I couldve done things better in this game, however it was the biggest reason, because they delayed my first hook from the second gen to when the gates where open. You should know what a big difference is getting a hook before the first 3 gens pop, especially if you play perks like pop, pain resonance etc. So ye, I would argue that the styptic was here the clear carry here in this case, especially since it was used multiple times from all survivors. The 1 use per trial was already enough since keep in mind, getting 1 extra hit can mean ALOT in higher level dbd.

Ye true thing is I was using yellow addons ;(

  • @randonly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2831556#Comment_2831556

yes, and because of that I think the 8 seconds could be shortened a bit.

Hm tbh I dont think so, I personaly use it to get mostly out of very stick situations like getting out of the basement alive if my guy doesnt has BT or maybe make a run to the gate. I wouldnt even mind if someone does that to me in my killer games honestly, but what the survivors did to me in my case is, every time when I was about to down them they used the styptic and made it to the pallet again which extended and basicly reset the chase again so I was kinda forced to leave only for this to repeat 3 more times and till then all gens where done with me getting 1 single hook.

So ye I think its bettter to nerf the aspect of ppl abusing it like that instead of nerfing it flat out even for casual playes, thats atleast my take to it obviously.

  • @randonly said:

I think 8 seconds is a lot to wait. This would be the hypothetical time to counterplay it.

ye but you can reach a tile or pallet in time if you use it properly thats my point.

  • Would rather play this than against a full tryhard swf team tbh, maybe she experienced the same. Honestly I really start to hate blood points event, it really brings out the most unfun sides of ppl. Sure these things happen also outside of events, but they happen ESPECIALLY often in events.

  • I dont feel a big difference, just as before I get pretty much random ppl from sweaty squads to insanely good solo q players with 6k+ to baby megs or other kind of very bad and new players or hackers so ye nothing has changed pretty much.

  • Good thing I am still studying

  • Undodgable hatchets hm yes seems like someone is playing with this?

    its nothing uncommon.

thats why, unless its blatantly obvious, BHVR should not be banning players based on soley one sides perspective on the matter - if they do act soley on reports (even with video evidence), innocent players will be caught in the crossfire - especially in case of cheats that are invisible to the opposing side (such as wallhacks).

If they truly want to address the cheating issue, they need to upgrade their anti cheat system to be able to detect more third party software that is impacting the game in favor of the cheater.

ye sadly we have a decent amount of innocent ppl that got banned, and its still happening to this day and obviously ppl cant or will do nothing about it. Its actually just really sad.

I just think they should remove the depip. Rank is meaningless, a reward given for time played, so who really cares if you got your ass kicked one game? Are you not still playing, providing competition to others? I don't see the need to equate an ass kicking with some negative effect on your rewards.

Take the L, move on and keep grinding towards the rewards.

well I get your point, I hope though they will keep working on the whole piping system though, still sad that they tossed it aside becuase of the half ass mmr.

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2830687#Comment_2830687

But it is not for ranking anymore. It is for rewards only. Hence, depips should be removed. You are offering a reward for folks to show up and play the game, then using the stick when things go badly. For instance getting facecamped at 5 gens results in a depip, how does that showcase your progress?

No reward or progress system is perfect, I do agree that in moments like this there should be some kind of compensation but how or how much? If you have better ideas then spit it out, I bet the devs would love to hear and read ideas. I personally would have no idea tbh

  • @fulltonon said:

It was ranking system but it's just a levelling system now, and since it stopped being a ranking system, it doesn't makes sense to keep depipping as that is only needed for ranking/MMR system.

I guess its a matter of taste since I still like it

  • @fulltonon said:

Grades is more equivalent to account level which resets every month, this is literally what dev said.

There is no "ranking" in this game right now.

Its just how they word it or in other words call it, it used to be the MMR and also your ranking back then, they just took out the function of the matchmaking of it but it is still in the core of it a ranking systen since it is literally designed as one. You can call it whatever you want but it is still a ranking.

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 74
