Hope she doesn't give up
well shes not a gamer at all, she infact has no idea how to install games even, she will most likely just play here and there once a week or so cuz she is mainly just partying or busy with her work.

I’m sorry this happened to you
Thank you, honestly I dont really feel that upset about that stuff that happens to be, I feel more upset and sad for my friends and discord mods. I for myself dont get that easily triggered, its very hard to reach under my skin but I cannot stand if other ppl are getting pulled into stuff for no reason.
-
Simple solution: Unranked mode
But ye well it is what it is sadly, a friend of mine got dbd steam shared from me recently, she will also start playing a few days and I already feel sad for her, I already obviously let her know about the issues with this game but she still wants to give it a try.
Well lets see, I will give her the best support I can give

See: here's the thing.
If I leave my house unlocked, that is a silly thing to do.
However, it doesn't mean that I deserve to be robbed, or that the robbers are somehow not at fault.
The real fault always rests with the person doing something deliberately malicious, not the person who is perhaps a bit too trusting.
I mean it makes sense what you say but I still dont get how this analogy has anything to do with my situation? xD I accept the add AFTER he reached out to my friends and discord.

Chat should just be disabled by default and you should have to through options to even enable it. It serves no point but to upset others. Oh, and to the one guy repeatedly trying to make some gotcha by saying someone accepted a friend invite: I've had survivors go to my screenshots for HOUSE FLIPPER just to insult me for a DBD game. I've had people go to my twitch and send me messages through twitch private messages, just to scream at me because my profile comments were locked. People who really really get upset and want to vent will fine a way. And as far as I know, you can't disable comments on screenshots on steam. Not unless you go and individually do it for every single screenshot you ever took, as far as I can understand.
Well said my Nemesis brother

So if I leave my house unlocked and with the door wide open, can I really be upset when I come home to being robbed? That's literally what this is the equivalent to. If I leave a 100$ bill on the ground in a public area, how upset can I be when I come back and it's missing?
It's just common sense. And yes, I will shame people for lacking it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2840483#Comment_2840483
Ok well i'm sorry your friends are dumb enough to accept friend invites from random strangers on the internet. Or even more dumb for staying there and listening instead of just blocking them? Idk what to tell you.
They wrote on their profiles and screenshots lol, I feel like at this point you are nit picking everything possible just to be right somehow.
How does this analogy can be compared at any possible way?

Why start victim shaming, here? Yeah, maybe that wasn't the most clever thing to do after their salty chat, but 1) post game chat is always dumb, but in a real talk most people are just normal people and 2) more important, even if accepting the friend requests were the dumbest move imaginable, this still doesn't make BenZ0 in any way, shape or form responsible for this way, way, WAY over the top hatred and personal attacks.
I am also suprised, I mean it is always easier to view something from an outstanding stand point but I am also suprised how someone can possibly defend this.

You can set it to "friends only" as well? Almost every piece of information you give out online is voluntary.
Private profile, endgame chat disabled, and you are in a vacuum.

Yeah kids these days are soft. You read a post like this and wonder if it's his first online game or something. "Waahh someone said bad word over the internet"
You are absolutely right but it is still weird that you are trying to defend ppl like this? xD Again I dont have anything against salty ppl writing on my profile, my problem is with ppl who literally harass friends of mine. You cannot just say "well just turn it on private", how about seeing it that way that ppl shouldnt do that in the first place? You cannot give in on everything other ppl do, sometimes you gotta show ppl that what they did is not okey and they should feel the consequences. Ppl like this will never stop otherwise, not doing this just for me, the mentioned streamer is very toxic towards many ppl. She and her squad seem to be very toxic not just towards me, more towards everyone.

I just finished a game against a swf of two streamers and their 'fans'. They accused me of "camping" which I wasn't and got really salty, calling me a N in chat. Then when I visited their stream after I watched as they were encouraging their like 20 and less viewers each to report me in steam and 'troll squad' me if they ever see me in game - sharing my steam profile to their chat and steam friends. Sure enough wasn't very impressed.
I've played COD R6S Valorant WoW - every single multiplayer game you can think of and have never experienced as much hate and toxicity than I do and see in this community.
At least there are a few good eggs. Few friends I play with and some streamers that stuck it out this long. Some of the fog whisperers I enjoy and pick me up when I am down.
Agree I am also from wow and it can also be pretty toxic but dbd is next level #########.

For chat reports, an additional player report ticket is not needed and shouldn’t be created. If you report it in-game, the chat logs will be directly saved in that report and that’s enough, therefore no ticket and screenshots necessary.

though if they Harassed you/your friends outside of the game on another platform like Steam then you gotta report them there. I am pretty sure there is a way to report such behavior on any platform
I reported their twitch streamer on twitch, I was checking a few of her stream and with the help of my russian mod we found out that she was hate speeching alot of players she faced. She is in general pretty toxic and promotes such behaviour and gameplay, she lets ppl bleed out on the ground simply for the way they play for example, she does much more but it was just 1 example.

Well, that's sort of on you for having a public profile and a public friend's list. As well as for using your youtube name in DBD if it's unrelated.
I allow comments on my steam profile but I know full well 95% of them will be negative. And i'm OK with that because I think it's hilarious. I bathe in the salt.
Well I am the exact same, I find salty comments funny. But why should I turn my profile private for ppl literally adding my friends? Also I dont have my yt name on my profile, you can see on the screen shots that my name is "horse" and that is obviously not my yt name.

Its not the only thing that has been changed, I just discovered at Yamaoka (Sanctum of Wrath) at the small shrine building, you know where there is like 1 window right in the middle and 2 windwos at both corners of it.
There used to be at 1 corner a window and then at the opposite a open little spot of the fence so the killer can jump off.
Well now there is at EVERY CORNER a window which means you are forced to vault any of them which also makes it to a ######### god loop.

Agreed. I would add many more killers to the list (like Nurse, Doctor, Spirit, Old Freddy)
Ye ofc I think Doc is one of the coolest and most unique killers but since he speficly said "new" killers I just took the most recent ones here. Pyramid head is also such a well designed killer for example.

The way you explain map spawns makes sense. However bhvr won't create a different mode of play. I'm pretty sure they've said as much. I still believe the best way to go is to make balance changes to maps. High mmr won't be impacted b/c the best survivors/killers know how to handle every tile to it's best. Sometimes as killer it just means to leave it lol.
Ye however it was the same with colorblind mode, they devs used to say (It gives an unfair advantage to other ppl so they dont have plans to implement it) after it got enough attention we got it, the same here. I believe if more ppl see it that way that a ranked und unranked mode would help alot they may do it for real. I really believe this would be a really healthy decision for the game.

Right, the balance is hard to find. Especially with a few of the newer killers having stronger anti-loop powers. imo they'll need to focus on a mix of safe tiles and mind game tiles. The trick will be how many of each on the map and making sure the maps don't spawn back-to-back safe tiles like they do now.
I would say there is a easy way to deal with it. If you didnt know the way the map spawns work is like that. A map is seperated in "chunks" which are rougly 20x20 meter boxes, in each chunk there is 1 tile or random stuff in it like lets say trees, maybe a hill, 1 loop or even 1 big tile like a jungle gym or lets say a fun bus from auto heaven.
Thats why it is rather "easy" to make maps in dbd. So how do we seperate now high mmr players with casual players? Implement an unranked mode and create specific "stronger" tiles only for that unranked mode for casual players. And the weaker tiles with more restrictions like (no back to back spawns) are only featured in a ranked mode.
You can disable the unranked mode for ppl who reached a certain devotion level like lets say if you are devotion level 2 you are no longer able to play unranked mode. Also you can put in extra rewards in ranked mode to give ppl more reasons to play there instead of the unranked mode with extra bloodpoints, maybe a "weekly" system where you if you reached a specific amount of kills or escapes you get some shards as bonus and also more seasonal rewards like charms or even entire outfits specific for that 1 season.

90% of loops that survivors claim are unsafe are actually pretty safe. They just make mistakes, which is really the only way you win as killer.
Ye true, idk though what BHVR has against mindgames, I would say they are a kinda 50/50 if survivors dont use stretch res obviously. It is boring to have the regular hold w loops where you hope for a survivor to make a mistake, it doesnt feel rewarding at all if you are in the mercy of other ppls mistake. Ofc some killers can lead survivors into mistakes with zoning and all but I would also like to outplay survivors by my regular m1 gameplay.
-
? What is the problem with that perk, you just run to the other side of the map and there you have 4 more gens to repair, it takes you literally like 20sec to reach the opposite of the map.

I just see it as mostly trying to keep their killer players. They announced a key and insta heal nerf a month before and so killers had to suffer for 1 month straight of constant insta heals. Og ds would have been meh if the game was anywhere near balanced. The only thing I really give BHVR credit for is managing to acquire so many iconic licenses. Other than that all the issues they fixed could have been done by someone you could find on fiver for $5 in a fraction of the amount of time they take.
Agree they are slow asf, I wonder what they are doing in their offices except "Collecting data".

Sry to hear and I agree with that. Its just a ######### and childish behaviour from survivors to do that.
However dont get me wrong really here but I just want to ask since I am curious.
You or your cousin should be aware that this could happen, its not really a secret that survivors do that? Again not trying to pick up a fight here.
-
Idk that situation you mention seems hella specific, I doubt this is possible to pull it off that easily honestly.

That makes more sense now. So not even protection hits. If you just took a hit, that's a stack for you? Yeah, that's really dumb design, even for DBD standards.
Ye there was a huge drama back then going on cuz ppl said (which I mean is kinda true) that ash DLC was a easy cash grap, bringing out a complete busted perk which got nerfed then a few months later. It shouldve been nerfed way sooner but I guess BHVR likes to let ppl suffer a while. Like I am not exaggerating by sayign EVERY match had atleast 2-3 ppl using mettle of men, this perk made it impossible to play any other killer, it was so stupid.
Many Killers myself included started playing extra toxic as a retaliation against MoM. Ppl brought only moris and (back then you could do that) infinit spammed mori on them and held ppl hostage like that just to annoy them. Killers led MoM players bleed out or played most disgusting builds possible like 5 blink nurse or Franks mixtape Legion or Iri huntress (old Irir with 3 hatchets). Like this time was truly the worst and most darkest time of dbd it was just crazy.

I see kinda like 2-4 spirits in a week (From around 50 games on average). I wouldnt really count them cuz these are most likely ppl just doing their dailys or a challange. I NEVER saw any spirit playing her actually since the nerf, just baby spirits that have no clue how to play her.

Nope OG legion was there and no his M2 didnt count back then as basic it got changed later.

Besides Dead hard and noed I would say Unbreakable, its also pretty high on my annoy list.
Yes unbreakable is a counter to slugging but in a lot of siutations you have to slug to even get a chance to build pressure, especially with CoH meta atm. Also there is basicly no counteprlay from the Killer side of it. You have no idea who may have it and if they use it well they are gone already since they most likely will use it only when you are far away or busy hooking someone or something else.
Even if it is a once per game use perk, this 1 time can already turn the tables completly.

It wasn't meant as a personal attack, I just love Cope's face when he gets downed
I didnt took it like that dont worry just wanted to make my point. For some reason ppl think when you say "I like old legion" ppl instantly mean the exploits and spam hits without counterplay and its kinda getting tiresome.

You cannot really generalize that, some Killers dont really work well with Exposed like Plague or Oni.
Also tbh exposed is obviously a pretty strong effect, you cannot deny that. Insta downing a survivor is very valuable and is huge for the Killer. However maybe you just word it wrong but ppl dont really "rely" on it, you can say the same to dead hard that survivors always rely on dead hard. I mean in the end yes you rely on it but is is something bad? If something is strong and useful are you not allowed to make use of it?
-
Its not that easy, if you didnt realize the most cheaters are there around at the end of an patch. Which means everytime when we get a new fresh patch they updated and find new ways to block the cheat files, however just as devs updated the game cheaters find a way to update their cheats aswell which means after some time they can AGAIN cheat a few weeks later.
You can see what i mean when Ringu chapter is out, you will most likely see barely if not no cheaters at the first few weeks. But ye once we reach again the end of the patch the game is swarmed with them again.. just like right now.
-
I wouldnt say "most", but ye half of them are meh. I agree with this, I feel atleast the same about that except with the thorny nest, idk Mangled effect seems pretty useless to me cuz of CoH.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Old MoM was only a problem because of instaheals. Otherwise, 2 protection hits back then was a fine activation condition. And I was gonna suggest reverting the nerf. But then boons came, so now if we were to revert the nerf, MoM would be OP again.
We mean when MoM came out. When it originally just came out with Ash the condition was to just get injured, after 3 injure hits you had MoM so basicly there was no counterplay to it, you just got a free healthstate every game without doing anything. Except if the Killer plays a insta down killer or a non basic attack Killer like Legion, Nurse, Huntress etc.
-
If you would read the other conversations then you would know that I also disliked the spam hits.

Oh, I have not forgotten the broken abomination that was release Mettle Of Man. It was either an intentional shameless money grab of a busted perk or the balance devs were completely out to lunch on that one.
I was an M1 killer main at the time. Every lobby had insta heal medkits and Mettle Of Man. Every single lobby. It was terrible.
CoH doesn't even come close to how broken Mettle Of Man was. At least there's a time investment on the survivor end and *some* counterplay for the killer. Mettle Of Man was a free health state and speed burst for playing the game and nothing else. And many killers had zero counterplay for it.
Well said, absolutely agree.
