I'd disagree, I'd rather old newspaper base than that addon.

She could do with a few tweaks for sure but damn do I love that old newspaper addon lol. By far one of her best

What does it do again if you dont mind explaining?

    I disagree.

The only thing Sadako needs is the ability to see each survivors condemned stage. That would allow her to target survivors more strategically. Otherwise, I think she's in a decent spot.

How do you want to target specific condemned survivors if they dont even get to a higher stage of it? Its really hard to condemned survivors, the addon I mentioned does it easier but it is not okey that a addon makes a very underwhelming mechanic playable.

Because you need two perks for a decent effect, reducing the slots for more creative builds, the meta builds are made up of 3 gen regression/protection perks and sometimes 4, usually Corrupt Intervention and two more.

Ye meta is something else, even though its just copium, ppl think for some reason the game is unplayable without 4 anti gen perks. I play for myself only 2 at max and still have a kill rate of 3,6 on most killers on average.

  • I agree thats one of the few reasons that keeps me into the game, its really fun having different simular strong builds.

  • @IamFran said:

The problem of the most gen regression/protection perks, included the newer ones, are only good when combined with other regression perks.

For example, Call of Brine is only good when combined with Pop.

If there were more perks good by themselves the builds would be more fun.

and what is so bad about that? Perk combinations are really cool

That's a problem of the killer in general imo, just how 1 single perk makes you completely silent, problem that should be addressed in some way imo. Problem that amplifies if people on PC, that consoles cannot do, change the audio quality from the game user settings file from 0 to 2, use equalizers (much harder to get on console), and have 1000 $/€ headphones because sounds mixed with the chase music make it so hard to track everything. Inconsistent design overall still.

Ye I agree, I think Iron will shouldnt be a thing in the first place. Perks like Parental guidance where you kinda "earn" the stealth are fine, but not iron will that gives you constant that silence.

Hello Benzo, thanks for your opinion of such a veteran like you 😃! Very cool idea, I completely agree with you but on Spirit. I think she was gives the audio effect for good (Deathslinger was a bad nerf without any VALID compensation), now it's not a coin flip anymore if you have good reaction times at many loops, and has more counterplay for both sides.

It was never a coin flip since still the vast majority of survivors are running iron will. Also sounds are often not reliable since they can be inconistent aswell, thats atleast my experience before I quit playing her, I could be also very unlucky.

  • @Aneurysm said:

I don't know but you can't report for that stuff. Teabagging and clicky clicky is completely allowed, as is tunnelling, camping, letting survivors bleed out etc etc

I think letting ppl bleed out is reportable as it goes into holding game hostage.

  • Scratch marks have been inconsistent the past year already, there are sometimes moments where scratch marks randomly dont appear and appear a few meters again. I get what you mean, I also sometimes get "mindgamed" by that.

  • @Elik said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/314175/detective-hoffman-from-saw-as-legendary-skin

yeah I'd love a Hoffman version

Tbh I've thought he would've been the better choice. Yes it was in one of the worst parts of the franchise but he did go on a killing spree in 3d so I think he would've been more fitting as a killer.

I get where you are coming from but amanda fits much more and I am fine with that choice. Since she is kinda crazy and just ######### up, it makes much more sense that she would do something like this. Hoffman acted more with reason and plans but never so crazy as Amanda does.

  • I love the evil within 2 but I wouldnt pick stefano as Killer honestly, also dont get me wrong but the power seems abit dull for both sides, you think it would be fun for survivors to stay for 5 sec in the same spot? Idk seems abit annoying to me atleast.

  • 6,4k Hours and also 1 year of comp experience and also I host my own tournaments. I am also playing since the Beta.

Most ppl seem to agree on that so here the short version. The game is unbalanced when both sides bring the absolute strongest, the survivors have stronger and better perks or addons overall compared to the Killer. Some Killers have arguably equally or stronger addons like Blight tag or Iri head but those are very few exceptions.

    Maps:

BHVR is kinda balancing around the game WITH perks and addons, you can also see in time that the maps got less and less pallets, especially Mac Millain and Auto heaven, they both usually have huge dead zones. Loops are getting constantly bigger and offer less mindgames, you can see that on the new map and some reworked maps like cold wind farm or auto heaven. For some reason Mindgames are getting "fixed" and tossed aside which is very questionable and weird, I always though that mindgames are a great game design and a fun and balanced tool in chases for both sides. Mindgameable loops should be more often available and we need more loops overall on most maps to promote more different chases, currently the same tiles are often getting reused which is just boring. Give survivors more recources to work with and meanwhile nerf the overall loops again abit to make them abit less save.

    Loadouts:

Add unranked and ranked mode and define rules for loadouts and map spawns differently there. Unranked mode should have stronger and open loops in general for casual players and less restrictions on loadouts and the ranked mode should have less loops which also promote mindgames. Dead zones should be adressed cuz it can be very frustrating if you run into an area and there is literally nothing. In ranked mode there should be also perk and item restrictions so you cannot stack them like 4 unbreakable's.

The second thing is stronger perks especially the meta should be finally nerfed, even ruin and pop. Some of the perks should be baked in as baseline for example the base gen kick is basicly worthless, pop should be reduced to 20% dmg and the base kick should get the 5% damage from pop as. Which means if you just kick a gen normally you get instantly a 5% explosion on the gen.

Also anti gen perks should not be able to be stacked as well, a limit of 2-3 anti gen at max but never 4. Its simply too frustrating and also boring.

    Killers:

About Killers, I dont think any of the meta Killers need any nerfs, they are fine as they are, I would even say revert the Spirit and Deathslinger nerf, both are just unecessary and not fun they make the killers feel clunky and weird. However the weaker Killers still are starving for proper buffs, Trapper and Wraith both went to the right direction but Killers like Clown, Legion, Myers or Ghostface need adjustments and buffs.

Artist is a good example of a well designed and executed Killer. Killers SHOULD be complicated and overwhelming and oppressive, it would be boring to get very simple Killers.

    General Gameplay:

The next thing is that the general Killer gameplay needs some sort of change. My suggestion would in a way at least reduce camping and tunneling but it would also promote more fun and versatile gameplay. The Killer needs a second way to get to gen pressure other then hooking, especially weaker Killers that struggle with early game pressure struggle a lot and often NEED to rely on camping and tunneling to even have the slighest chance. My answer would be to give the Killers a second objective, my concept is pretty simple, 2 shrines are around the map. After injuring survivors the Killer you can offer the blood you have on your weapon to start a ritual and please the entity, after a specific amount of blood as been collected and brought to the shrines the trial changes into a "challange" where everything becomes red and shakes like the end game collapse. For 2 min all gens are blocked and the survivors are getting revealed by crows that follow them and fly towards them. The Killer gets like that some extra time and a chance to create pressure and possibly even 4k slug the survivors.

Sounds abit op right? Well survivors can "sabotage" the shrine offerings by stealing blood from the shrines and bring them to a cleansing shrine to get rid of it but also get a healing buff (50%) and also get a free self pick up (Free Unbreakable, the perk itsself should get completly reworked). Survivors that have blood are revealed with killer instinct shortly. This is a little back and forth fight and can create a very cool new interaction with the Killer, if you know the killer is going for that then you need 1 or 2 survivors get off gens to prevent the Killer from completing the ritual and stopping the game for 2 whole minutes. You cant simply ignore this mechanic cuz at some point the Killer will get the ritual done (It shouldn't take too long) and therefore the survivors are getting interrupted and forced to interact with the Killer. Also this would enable the Killer to not go for hooks atleast in the early game and go juggle around gens to get hits like that, you obviously only collect blood by injuring survivors not downing them. Which means heal perks like Circle of healing arent now a big issue for you anymore. This whole thing is ofc optional and you can STILL play normal by just going for chases and hooks, its just a side objective you can choose to do.

These would be my thoughts atleast for now.

    They have zero atmosphere.

    No fog, all bright maps.

Feels more like a shooter now than a "horror" game.

Seems like you have a own term of "bright".

  • Well its one day, I get it that its kinda a cuck but again, 1 day... dont need to make a big thing out of it now. Not saying you (the op) does it but I bet some ppl are going to make a big scene out of this now.

  • Idk if its just me but I love all the graphical reworks, the maps look so much more better and have much more atmosphere. I dont miss the old maps at all, not a single one.

  • You can add me on discord and I can write you there in private or we could go in a call and I could go through your gameplay there and give you like that tips if you want. Just an offer ofc

  • Some ppl have some self value issues, to boost or help it they want to make others feel their superioraty, same thing with bullying in real life. Thats my take to it atleast.

Why should I be penalized for running decisive when I picked that perk before I even loaded into a lobby. Let alone why should I be penalized for a perk I unlocked on that character.

Who said its a penalty? You are also restricted to 2 addons, its the same thing there.

  • @illusion said:

I think that a first step would be to make bad perks, that nobody uses, better. If you give people viable choices, they will naturally choose different perks, which i think is a much better idea that forcing people to use bad perks.

Thats the thing, there are already pretty decent perks and no matter how you will try to buff them they WILL stay decent because there effect just isnt good enough. Examples would be Spirit fury, Devour Hope or Head on.

Kinda- from what I can see, you're talking about classifying perks into certain categories (ie. second chance, anti-gen, chase, healing, etc.) and then limiting the number of these perks that can be taken per survivor per game (even if that limit is 4 and so would have no effect, thats probably how it'd work in the code) whilst i'm on about hard choice restrictions which limits only specific combinations; you can run wild with corrupt, deadlock, thana and pop (while they'd probably all be anti-gen perks by your category), but you couldn't combo, say, DMS or PR anymore. idk whatever combos are complained about. basically provides more freedom for builds without allowing problematic combos to continue to exist.

also butcher coh that'd be nice

Ye true I mean in the end its basicly the same, I guess things can always be played around with first to see how the results would be. Ofc you cannot make such big decisions wihtout tryint it out first.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Choice restrict combinations that are too good. You cannot use Tinkerer on Blight, for instance, nor can you combine Boon: Circle of Healing with, say, Dead Hard or a Medkit, idk. Just choice restrict combos that are too good,

Well that is basicly what I described there in just other words xD

  • What you write here is in the early game, you know you have like 99% of the game atleast 1 injured survivor if you are playing atleast decent with any Killer.

Idk how you play Killer but I have often situations where I injure a survivor while I have others already injured.

I like this perk but obviously since survivors are still tryharding for their lives with full meta perks you dont have much room to use this perk, but the perk itsself is fine, maybe increase the time to 45 sec atleast but besides that its fine.

  • styptic is also banned xD

  • @ukenicky said:

I'm seeing this trend of "She isn't strong enough" like do some of you only play killers who are solid A tier+?

Is there something wrong with having killers who aren't immediately incredibly powerful/broken and people being excited for a character just because they like them and want to play as them regardless of their power level

I wrote like 2 comments above that it is fine for her beeing weak since she isnt designed to be strong. But this doesnt mean that a whole mechanic of her should be so weak that you can literally ignore it the entire game.

  • @StarLost said:

Doctor is infinitely better than Onryo though. He has an anti-loop, a locator and a passive slowdown that actually works. The only thing that holds him back is the latency issues with his power and an overreliance on addons. If you wanted to use Doctor as a metric for balancing Onryo, she needs a gigantic honking buff to nearly every aspect of her kit.

To the second, I disagree - I think that all killers should be strong. Not Nurse or Blight level, but at least Demo level.

To me, Demogorgon is the gold standard of killer balance Not too strong, not too weak. And comparing Demo to Onryo is like comparing a Dodge Journey to a Dodge Nitro. One is a perfectly fine midrange van, one isn't.

Ye compared Doc with Onryo alone he is much better, but tbh every killer except Legion or Clown is much better then her xD Maybe some arguments about myers or ghostface aswell depends I guess.

I dont personally see any possible buffs that would make her on the same level except reworking condemned completly imo.

I agree with demo, hes a good boy <3

Why isn't her power designed to be strong?

Do we need another 'below average' killer? Shouldn't we be trying to get below average killers up to snuff rather than adding more?

The issue isn't just her lack of anti-loop. It's that the rest of her toolkit also sucks. Her stealth sucks and her slowdown mechanic sucks. If her stealth was better and survivors actually had to interact with TVs more, she'd be...honestly still not great but better.

Agree she would be better, but still just average and that still isnt what you want. Thats what I mean with she isnt designed to be strong, her power simply doesnt give her enough pressure or lethality, doesnt matter how much you tweak her condemned or TVs, its just the power itsself that lacks which is fine imo. Not every Killer has to be strong. Again look at Doctor, is he that bad? No. Is he good? No. But he is still very well balanced, probably one of the moist balanced killers.

  • @chargernick85 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842965#Comment_2842965

I like your idea of adding an extra way to get condemned that also helps her style of play. If this killer had an anti-loop she would just get nerfed because she would just be to strong. If anything (again it's been barely 2 days so) these small little tweaks I think are a good start. I don't want mori's to be something that happens often but like someone told me yesterday (I don't remember who) they should have to pay attention to it and at least fear it some (like an activated Pig trap, chain hunt, etc).

I kind of messed up with my opinion yesterday not that I think she is weak like everyone says but not everyone has the same experiences which I need to do better to remember that....along with the rest of the community to be honest.

Yea I am fine with her beeing an non anti loop hit and run killer, but atm atleast with all those fancy heal perks we got its just way too weak (wraith and pig suffer from it alot aswell) so the best way to approuch it is to simply give her a kind of extra "reward" for this playstyle and I think this way it supports it very well.

  • @fulltonon said:

Does it increase condemn when they use self-care? if it doesn't, coh still hard counters her.

No but you could also implement that but I feel this could be then abit too strong, not sure though.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/313557/the-only-thing-the-onryo-needs

That's not a terrible idea, but doesn't really fix her.

    Her issues are:

    • Awful 'stealth' that barely even allows to close, combined with no dash and people can just run through you while you demanifest.
    • Why does she have a lullaby?
    • Absolutely no anti-loop.
    • Her height makes for zero visibility in grass - reminding me of Blight on release.
    • Survivors have zero reason to interact with TVs until they are very close to max condemn.
    • TV spawn logic can put TVs on the wrong floor, facing a wall, under a duck.
    • About half her yellow and brown addons should be baked in - as when using them she actually feels 'okay'.
    • TV emergence is incredibly telegraphed and it's insanely easy to just go to the nearest safe loop.

I think the no collision is a good thing and should remain. Ye the lullaby is dumb agree but she doesnt need an anti loop, she is not supposed to be an anti loop killer. I dont see any problem with her height hoenstly, also ye with my idea there would be an reason to use TVs. Tv spawn logic is a pretty sure a bug. And the emergence is actually fine imo, atleast idk what to do against that.

Again keep in mind that just like Clown or Doctor her power is not designed to be strong, she is just an stealth killer which you should view more as a fun killer, not a comp killer.

    Unfortunately, An unranked mode would:

A.) Split the player-base. Enjoy even longer queue times.

b.) What is to stop a sweaty Killer/Survivor going into unranked queue and destroying everyone with meta perks/slugging?

C.) This would require BHVR to acknowledge there is a problem with their game.

I want a change too, but I don't think this is it.

    A. It wouldnt, many other games have this without any que issues.

    B. You disable the unranked mode for ppl that have a certain devotion level (account level). Would also reduce the amount of players to be split from the ranked mode.

    C. Ye they will never admit it xD

A lot of his add-ons are terrible, and don't compliment his mediocre basekit. C'mon. Are you one of those people who main a killer, 4k all the time because of bad survivors, and then say the killer, that you yourself main, needs nerfs?

    I main oni actually

And no the green t virus sample (100% more mutation from zombies) gives you more and faster your T3 then old marvins blood actually. Purple zombie movement speed and broken coin are both pretty amazing. Both Iris are pretty good now (the stars badge is random but still can give you value). Both arm bands for a higher fov for zombies are also pretty nice and can be very good paired with stuff like discordance or tinkerer.

I could go on, alot of his addons are pretty amazing and marvins blood wasnt even good, it was just a ez t2 at the first chase for baby nemesis players, its the same as dried cherry blussom for spirit, its just strong for ppl who arent good on that killer but actually you never and do not need them.

It's Darwinism to the next level. We can only be happy the OP learned his lesson on something as trivial as a video game instead of something actually important.

And yes, getting a friend invite on steam from a random person is promptly declined. If someone made an impression on me, I know who they are already.

I am sorry to say this but you maybe wanna change your attitude a little.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2840645#Comment_2840645

    It's...complicated.

Partially, it's the game. DbD is very snowbally - meaning that 'close' games are rare. It either feels like you just stomped someone hollow, or got absolutely spanked. People with fragile egos...tend to have the worst brought out of them by stuff like this, and the whiplash of feeling like a god to feeling like hot garbage is unpleasant.

That said, partially it's because the developers have gone on record as saying that they consider 'smack talk' to be an essential component of online gaming - which certain people take as having carte blanche to act the fool.

Agree, I met the majority of my friends like that, especially one of my best friends.
