    Could I help with illustrations?

I'd love to do the cover art.

    ^This.

This is why you are one of the best people in the community. You are always kind, supportive, and willing to lend a hand, plus a little snarky ;)

And as for @Dabihwow, man, you've inspired me so much. Working on and reading Pinebrook has been a fantastic experience. You gave me a chance to indulge my love for Resident Evil 7, something that I've never been able to do before seeing as my family/friends don't like horror.

Thank you both so much, I'm not very good at accepting compliments, so all I can really manage to say is thank you.

I don't think any of us are very good at accepting complements. You're good, man.

Thx, I'm glad to have been a part of what helped you in the forums. Now onto the answers

So Pinebrook was also inspired by Outlast in terms of gore and ######### up ######### ( if you know what I mean). But also from Alice and wonderland, Stranger Things kinda, but also from my experiences with people

Now Pinebrook was actually based on a project I did a long time ago, it was an idea called A Mystery horror story. Where a serial killer wreaked havoc on the people and a group of youngsters rose to discover what or who was the killer. What was unique was that it went from town to town and not just one place the whole time. A lot of what happens in that story was cut from Pinebrook except... for one character, Furnace Head but he was named wasn't FurnaceHead from the beginning.

Sorry it took a while to think of a way to write this

Oh, it's fine. It's not like I refresh the page every ten seconds to see if you made a new post or anything.

When and where do you think the first book is gonna come out?

The main issue I see here is that Julie's Furious Frenzy is way, way too similar to Frank's Feral Frenzy. It's just the same thing with a numbers tweak.

As they're dating, we thought that it should work in a really similar way. In their lore, they're similar to each other, so their powers should also be similar, ya know?

Julie's is better for when people are more spread out, due to being able to move faster, while Frank's would be better if they were already close together as you can use the longer duration to chain more hits (and get more value out of SWS nudge nudge wink wink). Like I said in the overview, we wanted to raise the skill cap to Legion.

I think we may have succeeded. Maybe.

    Ah. Didn't think about that.

But it's still kind of an issue. Not much, but it still exists.

  • I honestly love this idea.

Also, how would cosmetics work? Would you have four different sets of cosmetics equipped at once? Would you only get to customize one member?

OH my god... I mean you have both been a 10/10. Beelze, you reminded me of what this series started as and I've actually would do something totally different id you didn't remind me of the psychological aspects of Pine brook. Qw You actually allowed me to bleed more character into Elliot and helped me with my... ######### grammar, but also added details I never thought I would add

Since we're evidently being outright nice to each other instead of simply supportive, approachable, and helpful for minute, I would like to say a few things.

QwQw, when I joined the forums, I read your posts and immediately felt like this was a community that I wanted to join. You are, without a doubt, the forums' primary source of cool factor. Your casual demeanor and helpful nature bring a great deal of life to this Entity forsaken site.

Dabihwow, I first saw you when the Pinebrook Prologue thread appeared on the fifth page as I was browsing the forums, and I was hooked immediately. It was like a culmination of every concept I've been interested in for the past six years, and the fact that I could help out with such an awesome project is still an actual dream come true. Helping out with Pinebrook has been one of the main things keeping me going as of late.

And thank you both for the compliments. I really love feeling valued.

And now back to my standard persona, as I still have a question or two for Dabih.

Now I know we have also lost players, but those are very minor losses, we just got 3701 players, just minus that by 587 and we still have 3114 people who stayed after April.

i can tell devs are working to clean up the game, and I’ve seen their new rework of the mental hospital and Thompson house, and they are amazing! Doctor rework is amazing too! The newest collection skins make me so happy just cus they look creepy and well detailed.

Also with the new upcoming RE chapter, I believe our charts will go up. Just like when pyramid head was released.

I think our game is getting picked up again, and now devs, I’m sorry for criticizing the whole animation update, but I thank you, for your work.

Edit: I don’t mean player count, I mean quality of game, the devs are listening a bit more, and they are making good changes now.

How did we lose 587.5 players in thirty days?

    Wait, whats the 0.5?

So, I got bored in class and decided to make this. The chapter is work in progress right now, as I have no clue what the killer or their power is going to be. Right now it's just the survivor. If you guys have any suggestions for what the killer could be or any criticism of the survivors perks/lore, let me know.

@Dabihwow @Beelzeboop, I would love to hear what you two think.

    Choking Sorrow

    New Killer: ???

    New Survivor: Graydon Smith

    New Map: Ashton Streets

Appearance: Graydon is a tall pale caucasian male in his late twenties. He has dirty down hair, and a stubble where a beard would be. Because of his bad habits and aggressive work schedule, he appears to be in his mid thirties. His outfit consists of black trousers and shoes, a white t-shirt, a dark green overcoat, and a tan baseball hat. He can commonly be found smoking a cigarette and striking his classic grin.

Life can be a cruel mastermind at times. Graydon Smith was one of its many victims. Despite the tough circumstances, Graydon pushed through it all for the sake of others. He could always be seen with a gentle smile, willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed one.

Abandoned by his parents at the age of twelve along with his seven year old sister Marry, he marched through the dingy cold streets of Ashton City to the nearest orphanage he could find. Luckily for Graydon and Marry, the Graydon Orphanage was one of the few not rundown buildings in the city, as it was government funded.

Graydon got along fine with the other children, but he preferred to stand alone most of the time. Marry was a different story, as she was far more sociable than her brother, a way to compensate for the sadness she felt at the loss of her parents. When Marry would weep with sorrow during the long nights, Graydon would always sing to her to warm her heart.

At the age of eighteen, Graydon was kicked out of the orphanage. With not a dime to his name, he tried desperately to get any job he could, but no company with a high paying job was willing to hire him. With nowhere else to go, he hesitantly settled for a job at a cheap gas station. It wasn’t enough to pay the bills though, so Graydon was forced to sell drugs to keep food on the table. The job at the gas station as well as drug selling was just enough to afford living in his run down apartment. As a form of stress relief, Graydon turned to smoking as a pastime.

This cycle continued until Marry turned eighteen and was kicked out of the orphanage just like her brother. Despite his poor living conditions, Graydon accepted his sister with open arms - willing to bear the weight of supporting another person. Marry took up a job working at a small cafe, to help lessen the load her brother had to hold.

One of Graydon’s hobbies was taking long strolls during the cold nights. Staring up at the sky and taking a drag of his cigarette, he would hum his favorite song and ponder his life. It was a great way to clear his head of any worries and remind him of what kept him going - his sister. After five more years of living like this, and even would happen that would change the course of Graydon and Marry's life.

During one of his nighttime strolls, Graydon had decided to stop at a local convenience store to pick up a couple packs of cigarettes and some snacks.

When he entered the small store, he noticed that it was just him and the clerk. The clerk, judging by a quick glance, was a young lad, probably eighteen or nineteen. He had ginger hair and a blank look on his face, accompanied by a tired expression. Made sense to Graydon considering how late it was.

As Graydon looked around the back of the store for a bag of Marry’s favorite chips, he heard the bell ring that signaled the door to the convenience store had been opened. Taking a quick look over the shelf he was browsing, the man he saw enter the store was dressed in a back hoodie and sweatpants. He gave Graydon a bad vibe.

Graydon’s fears were confirmed when he heard a startled gasp from the counter. He poked his head out from around the shelf to see the man in the hoodie holding a handgun to the clerks head. Graydon silently thanked the lord that the man with the gun didn’t know he was in the store. Graydon knew he had to do something, otherwise the clerk could be harmed. With nothing in the store to use as a weapon, Graydon slowly crept up behind the armed man.

Using all his strength, Graydon swung his hands around the man's neck and put him in a headlock. To his surprise, the man didn’t drop the gun like Graydon was hoping for. Instead, he fought back by elbowing the butt of the handgun into Graydon’s ribs. Graydon stumbled back as the man swung around and quickly fired two rounds at him. Both of them hit, striking his torso. Blood began leaking from Graydon’s chest, but because of the adrenaline coursing through his veins he barely felt the bullets. Using his remaining energy, Graydon charged the man and tackled him to the floor.

The man still hadn’t dropped the gun, and Graydon knew it wouldn’t be long before the man overpowered him. Doing some quick thinking, Graydon did the only thing he could think of. Plucking the cigarette from his mouth, he shoved the burning butt of it into the man's eye. He recoiled in agony, screaming brutally as he finally dropped the gun on the tiled floor. Graydon had been too distracted fighting the man to notice the clerk had ran away. The clerk returned holding a metal pipe, and he slammed it down into the hooded man’s head.

Graydon couldn’t tell if the man was dead, or simply unconscious, but he guessed it was the ladder. Stumbling to his feet, he looked over at the clerk and cracked a small grin.

“Hey, can I have a pack of those cigs?”

The clerk shakily nodded and handed Graydon a pack of the cigarettes he had pointed too. As he pulled one out of the package and grabbed the lighter in his pocket, he let out a cough. Looking down at his hand, he saw it was speckled in blood. The sight suddenly made him aware of the burning pain growing in his chest. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, Graydon realized the graveness of his injuries.

It became too much for him to bear and Graydon fell backwards onto the floor. Coughing up more blood, his vision started to blur as he saw the clerk dialing an ambulance. He wouldn’t let go though. Graydon knew what would happen if he closed his eyes.

Because of how long the ambulance took to arrive, and because of the poor state the hospital was in, Graydon knew he wasn’t going to make it, he just needed a little more time…

Laying in the hospital bed, he heard the door swing open, and he didn’t even need to look over at it to see who had opened it. Marry rushed over to her fatally wounded brother, and sobbed as she hugged him. Graydon also noticed standing in the doorway was the store clerk, and he slowly shuffled into the room after Marry. Looking over at the young lad, Graydon urged him closer.

“Hey, be careful out there alright?”

Graydon spoke to the boy in a quiet voice, and although he tried to hide it, he could tell the clerk was starting to cry. Looking back over at Marry, he gave her one of his classic grins.

“I think I just about got time for one last send off.”

Just as the sun began to rise and peak through the window next to his bedside, Graydon sung Marry’s favorite song, the same one that he would sing to her all those years ago back in the orphanage. And then Graydon closed his eyes, and let out his final breath.

When he opened his eyes, Graydon was nowhere near Ashton City. Instead, he was in a dark forest. A cool breeze brushed past his face, and Graydon wondered just where in the hell he actually was. Looking off in the distance, he saw a group of silhouettes sitting around a campfire. Shrugging his shoulders and lighting up a cigarette, he began taking a calm stroll towards the light. I mean, what the hell else was he going to do?

Graydon Smith comes with three teachable perks.

Life On The Edge: You live dangerously, hell, you’ve seen all this world’s got to throw at you. When injured, press the Active Ability button to activate Life On The Edge. Your next rushed vault regardless of approach, will be a fast vault with 50% increased vaulting speed. Life On The Edge will cause the Hindered Status effect for 30 seconds after use. Life On The Edge has a cooldown of 75/60/45 seconds.

“Smoking helps calm the nerves, y’know?” - Graydon Smith

Reflective Reassurance: Life’s been cruel to you, but that doesn’t mean you have to be cruel to others. For every survivor you heal, gain a token. Each token increases the chance to trigger a skill check while performing any action that can trigger them by 7%. Increases great skill check success zones by 15% at all times. Can earn up to 4/5/6 tokens.

“Sh sh sh sh sh, I’m here, I’ll sing you your favorite song, okay?” - Graydon Smith

Reaper Calls: You’ve seen death before, and it sure as ######### ain’t gonna stop you now. Whenever the killer gains 1,000 bloodpoints in the Brutality scoring category, you gain a 15% increase to action speeds for 20/25/30 seconds. Whenever the killer gains 1,000 bloodpoints in the Hunting scoring category, you gain the Haste status effect for 20/25/30 seconds.

“Alright then, come at me you ugly son of a #########.” - Graydon Smith

Not to be nit-picky (which, thinking about it, that's actually probably why you called me in the first place) the survivor's appearance seems just ever so slightly too close to some guys we've already seen. Change the coat color and we're good as gold.

The story is actually great, although Graydon seems a bit too... good, I guess. I would say he needs some more obvious flaws to flesh out his character, but it isn't really necessary.

I pretty much agree with everything Dabi said, so just imagine I rephrased that with about 73% more pretentiousness and snark.

Also, I think being 3% slower for a full 30 seconds as a trade-off for an extra-fast vault seems a bit... excessive. You're basically giving the killer a free hit in exchange for avoiding one. Which, admittedly, might be the point. I would suggest making it an Exhaustion perk instead of just putting in a cooldown, due to the concept alone of DHing to the window and then activating LOtE.

For the killer, I would suggest a mob boss or something. I feel like killers and survivors should be foils to each other aesthetically, mechanically, and personality-wise.

So, some themes that I feel like you should include in the killer with that in mind:

    • Decadence, excess
    • Ruthlessness, cruelty
    • Domination, oppressiveness
    • Pettiness

I’m not interested in insulting you. I think we’re having a good conversation.

Killers are rewarded with far more bloodpoints then survivors. Even in efficient games.

You probably play killer a lot like me. Do you know how many bloodpoints the killer gets for successfully camping a survivor to death?

    ..

    ...

    200.

    ...

Killer button pressing is not more impressive then survivor. There’s more to take into account but like I said above, killers easily get above 25k a match and for survivor that’s a feat.

I don’t have a problem with the list you provided in the second to last paragraph. None of those lead to wins. Saboing hooks or flashlights at pallets often do the opposite of helping. 99ing a gate is just a symptom of winning; the killer lost the match long before EGC if that’s the concern.

Sorry if I misinterpreted what you said. It sounded a lot like you were insulting my skill. That happens a lot, if you haven't noticed, and people tend to act like it instantly wins them the argument.

I'm glad that you're a fairly reasonable person, although evidently not completely reasonable given that you're willing to take time out of your day to actually respond to me, when I'm fairly notorious for being stubborn and irate.

I'm not saying camping is skillful or even okay, I'm saying that there's no point in removing grabs given how absurdly difficult they are to start, let alone finish. You pretty much have to surprise the survivor or they have to be an absolute potato.

And I agree, a killer pressing a button is no more impressive than a survivor pressing one. The BP, however is fine. If survivor and killer got the same amount of BP suddenly, virtually half the killer population would just play survivor.

I wasn't saying those things lead to wins, anymore than camping does. I was saying that they were overwhelmingly unfun for at least the majority of killers. They break immersion and feel really cheap given the effectiveness/skill ratio, which does apply to camping and slugging (and tunneling, but to a lesser extent).

That’s a whole lot of not talking about hook grabs. If the point above is killers cannot exceed in this game, then that’s wrong. Like really wrong. Like 65% wrong according to the developer statistics.

Some killers are just bums and need the crutches taken away because camping isn’t fun. Not fun for the killer. Not fun for the survivors. Learn how to win chases and use the killers ability.

Killer should be rewarded for playing well and the hook grab standoffs is not it. It’s the killer giving up with the hope of squeezing out the lowest of effort kills after probably getting manhandled all game long. Undeserved. Bad mechanics.

The point is that killers need to put in way, way more effort and get less reward for it. Has it occurred to you that the killer needs to be directly behind the survivor to pull off a grab? Or that you can literally just stop the animation that lets them grab you and they can't do anything about it?

Survivors progress their objective by holding a button and tapping a different button occasionally. They do this about five times. The killer has to find the survivors, chase down the survivors, put the survivors into the dying state, and hook the survivors, all in succession and all while pressuring the gens somehow, and if they waste so much as five seconds it could very, very easily cost them the game. And evidently it's all the killer's fault for not being good enough.

I win most of the chases I'm in, and I know how to use all of my killers' powers. Making a thinly veiled insult doesn't really do much to prove your point.

If you think that something should be taken away just because it's "unfun," you need to think about how that would turn out if the same rule applied to survivors. You wouldn't be able to start a blind while the killer was preforming an animation, you wouldn't be able to bodyblock the killer, you wouldn't be able to sabotage hooks nearby to the killer, you wouldn't be able to play with your friends (ever), you wouldn't be able to 99 the exit gates, and on and on.

Survivors should be rewarded for playing well, and holding one button for 20 seconds isn't that.

  • If camping isn't okay because it's "unfun," then blinding the killer while they're locked in an animation, bodyblocking, sabotaging the hook in the killer's face, and Dead Hard are not okay, since all of those suck the fun out of the game for the killer.

Unless survivors are going to be punished for using those, killers shouldn't be punished for slugging, tunneling and camping.

And this is coming from a killer main who goes out of their way to make sure they don't do any of those things just out of principle.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2158475#Comment_2158475

DS, DH, etc are perks. The two health state grab is a base mechanic that’s pretty lame. Like imagine getting grabs at windows on a healthy survivor.

You realize that survivors get a total of 16 perks, and usually run at minimum two second chances each? The killer has to burn through every single one of them, since the they (exceptions being Deathslinger and Nurse) rely almost entirely on punishing survivor mistakes to succeed.

The Killer needs twelve hooks, and each one requires at absolute minimum 40 seconds (10 seconds for first hit, 15 seconds for the second one, 15 seconds to hook) by just the standard chasing method. This is assuming that the survivor has no second chances, no pallets, and that their teammates aren't doing anything to help them, although it does assume that the survivor heals between hooks.

The amount of time needed for that is about ten minutes. With that in mind, just chasing and M1ing survivors is basically pointless unless they're absolute potatoes.

The survivors need five gens and the exit gates. Each gen takes 80 seconds (assuming that only one survivor is working on one generator at any given time), and the gate switch takes 20.

The amount of time needed for the survivors to complete gens, assuming only one person is working on them at any given time with no toolbox or buffs or anything, and the killer isn't running any sort of slowdown, combined with the opening of the exit gates, is seven minutes.

So, in the best possible predictable scenario for the killer, the survivors complete the objective three minutes before the killer, or more realistically two minutes if the one guy doing gens doesn't have a map. Once again, this is assuming that the killer can reliably hook survivors within 45 seconds, is never not in a chase and thus knows where survivors are at all times, only one survivor is doing gens and lacks a toolbox, no one has any second chances, there are no pallets on the map, and the survivors are being completely useless when not in a chase.

Second chances can easily add ten further seconds to the killer's chase time, unless the survivor somehow makes three monumental screw-ups in sequence. This assumes that the survivor doesn't have the skill to use what is basically a passive ability correctly.

Killer in general does not need to be nerfed, and there is no reason why a situational, broken to the point of worthlessness one-hit down ability should be removed from the basekit.

  • Pretty much any of them.

Even Trickster or Legion, even though I'd probably be able to take them on one-on-one.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

The two health-state grab should be removed. It does promote camping and rewards losing killers. If the killer is an m1 killer, they shouldn’t get effectively a chainsaw down.

"Rewards losing killers?" I'm sorry? Given the state of the game, that shouldn't even be a problem.

DH, DS, BT, UB, Lucky Break, Iron Will, and so on and on and on, all reward the survivor for failing, often by negating mistakes that should've lost them the game mere moments after making one of said mistakes.

I'm vaguely okay with saying hook grabs should be removed because they promote camping, because, even though I disagree with it, it's an actual argument.

Thx, yeah Sluggy is actually James favorite weapon of choice, a baseball bat. I wanted it to reflect his personality and his interests, plus when I was thinking about making Pinebrook a game I felt that having to many guns blazing is a bit overused. So I wanted a melee weapon that forced the players to get up in front of the monster they're facing, it was a lot scarier given the fact of having to get close to a monster like Furnace Head, or some of the others just to fight them.

You could make the game a Souls-like, too, so the player absolutely needs to know their weapon and the enemy they're fighting at any given moment. That way. they'll be more engaged with the combat system than with more standard survival horror games.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a good example of a Souls-like with firearms, in case you were wondering how that could work.

    Just a thought.

  • *Gently places hand on survivor's shoulder*

    You can get through this.

Well if you thought the last page was the end of the prologue, well guess what... It isn't however it is almost done. Now I want thank you guys for pushing me to finish the prologue. Anyway here is the next page @QwQw , @Beelzeboop , @glitchboi, without futher ado here it is

Somewhere else in Pinebrook, an alarm that sat on a nightstand began to ring through out the dark room. The individual that laid in the bed let out a sleepy groan. They covered their head with another pillow, but it did little to blare out the loud alarm. The now annoyed person sat up and placed his hand on the alarm, it still continued ring. At this point, he had enough and slammed his fist on the alarm, it finally stopped ringing. The person let out a long sigh as he began to rub his sleepy eyes. His name, was James Linderton. " Good mourning James, time to get your ass up and movin'." He muttered, his voice had a slight southern drawl that he learned from his grandfather.

As he began to stand up he looked at his LED clock, it read six o'clock, enough time, for James to get ready for work. I better call Samuel, make sure he did my job at the museum. James noted as he walked for the light switch in the room. He carefully tried to maneuver his way to the light, but almost tripped on the stuff on his floor, . James managed to get to the switch, and flipped it , however the light blinded him as he covered his eyes. " Oh ######### ,bad idea!" James cried. After what felt like a while, his eyes adjusted to the light he was able to open them again to his room.

His room was slightly messy, with some clothes on the floor that need to be taken to the washer, and there was one stain on a carpet. Given that the house old it is close to being fully renovated, the room wasn't terrible, it had a baseball poster of the Indians. But the greatest thing in that room, was a Louisville slugger, that was around a yard long. This bat that James named 'Sluggy', was a recently acquired bat for James to use later on in the league. It was made of ash , and had a leather grip. But James stared down at his desk and reached for his phone, scooting his chair out of the way. He picked it up and dialed and waited.

" Come on Samuel, pick up the phone." James whispered impatiently. But the call didn't come back. " I'm sorry, but the person your trying to call is unavailable, at the tone please leave a message, when you are finished please end the call." the receiver stated. A beep came and James took a deep breath. " Hey Samuel, its me James, I hope you did the cleaning last night, and when you have a moment call me back alright, bye." James ended the voicemail and sighed.

James set the phone down and left for the shower down the hall. He carefully paced down the wooden hallway, and into the shower. He closed the door behind him, stripped, and washed his body. It was quite a while before he turned off the shower head, and began to make his way back to his room with a towel. He checked the clock again and it read six seventeen . " I got time, before work." James noted. He began dry off, and toward his dresser and pulled out a pair of dark jeans, a t shirt, and boxers. " You almost done there boy?" A gravelly voice came from outside the door.

"Yeah gimme a sec." James responded as he pulled up his pants, and put on his shirt. He tightened his pants down, grabbed a pair of socks and exited his room to be greeted by his grandfather, Caleb Linderton. The man was old, but built like a damn tank, this man had large muscles, and could probably lift a whole fridge by himself. James grew to respect him, even at a young age to now. " Alright son, I need you to go check on the chickens, and ol' Betsie while at it, also stand up straight boy, don't slouch." Caleb commanded, James nodded as he began to walk down the hall. " I'll make breakfast for you, how does bacon and pancakes sound?" " Oh you don't need to ask that to get answer." James chuckled

I'm here. Sorry for not responding right away.

Now it's time for the unending criticism that you must endure for the heinous crime of making something I'm willing to spend my time to contribute to.

    ...

Wow, I actually don't really have anything to say against this...

Wait, I've got one. There were a couple lines of dialogue that should've had a period instead of a comma. Also, you shouldn't put a space between the opening quotation mark and the first letter. I thought it was just a recurring typo, but given the quality of this page it seems deliberate.

Also, if we don't see Sluggy become very briefly implanted via surprise invasive surgery as an impromptu prosthetic brain, I will be sorely disappointed.

I like Caleb. There are so many things you could do with him as a character, both immensely horrific and endearingly wholesome.

We haven't seen much of James, but I like him so far. But I swear to God he better have anger issues, or so help me-

Healthy and Nutritious, what more could you want.

Also I finally have an excuse to share this monstrosity

    Not enough bonez.

    Not happy.

  • I mean, TBH I would agree with this if it wasn't Lord Tony.

If they were going to make a change this big, they would probably change Dead On to compensate.

low effort is opinionated so Ill just rank all killers from 1 - 5 on how much bp they get and you pick the one that sounds easiest

Trapper, 2 very inconsistant but 1500 per successful trap is not bad

Wraith, 4 as long as you use your power thats 8k deviousness in the bank

BIlly, 3 some good deviousness but his power removes 300 points you could have got from 2 m1s

    Nurse, 2

    Huntress, 3 not bad

Myers, 2 lot of easy was to lose devious points

Hag, 4 plenty of points from the fact that every triggered trap gives points, the chase started on the teleported trap gives points, the successful hit gives points, and there is a scoring event for a trap attack

    Doctor, 3 very consistent though

Bubba, 3 read billy as to why its not better

Nightmare, 3 a lot of simple events that give bp for using power and hitting survivors

Pig, 1 unless you spam ambush you only get like 2k ish unless you 4k

Clown, 4 gets a lot of points from power and hitting survivors

Spirit, 3 kinda like clown they get a lot of points but you probably will lose more for people who suicide on hook

Legion, 3 its alright but unless you frenzy extremely often you don't max deviousness

Plauge, 1 unless you use your special power you wind up with very little

Ghostface, 2 he is alright but takes a lot more effort but the extra points from downing a marked survivor is ok

Demo, 4 shred is really good and gives 1100 points per successful use (800 deviousness, 300 brutality)

Oni, 4 ton of points for downing survivors with power struggles with deviousness if you constantly use his power to snowball

Deathslinger, 2 unless you use the power a ton and extremely well you will only ever do ok

    Executioner, 3 idk

Blight, 4 probably the best since no one is extremely good but has a ton of addons that just give bp and you usually max deviousness by mid match or sooner

Twins, 2:3 depends on how much you use victor

Trickster, 2 unless you land a ton of knives and use your power a lot you don't get much

    Thanks for this!

    Distressing Wraith, here we go!

This is a terrible idea. It's basically like BNP 2: The Return Of Brand New Part (In 3-D!)

That reads like a 60s horror movie title and I love it.

Well, it really depends. Given the limited information.

Id start with adjustment disorder to give a lighter diagnosis which giving it the additional specification in connected to recent stressors

For a bit more heavier id say intermittent explosive disorder with violent tendencies connected to outbursts of rage

Now the mor serious diagnosis would be antisocial personality disorder (aka sociopathy).

The first diagnosis would likely only require counseling while the other two would require both counseling and medications.

Those are the 3 more likely diagnoses but there are others that would require further exploration

    Nah, I've been looked at.

    I'm just...

I wouldn't recommend No Mither so much since it's not as good as a counter but i would totally recommend to run Calm spirit to anyone who didn't like to face the Doctor. Perks are meant to counter many things, you know?

No one is suposed to counter everything in every single match, both sides have to take their chances. That's how it works.

The issue is that perks were meant to be band-aid solutions, nothing more. I wish the devs just fixed the problems at some point.

I really, really hate bodyblocking. I don't know if I've explained this on the forums before, but it's basically the survivor version of slugging: it's beneficial to an amazing extent, is pretty difficult to counter except by running one of a couple niche perks, it sucks the fun out of the game for the other side, and it shouldn't even be possible, much less encouraged.

Also, pretty much no-one whos doesn't already have Trickster is going to spend the Shards required to buy that piece of garbage. His perks are somehow not good enough to justify it, which just goes to show how terrible he is.

Also, thanks for the measured response. I don't get those very often, for obvious reasons.

  • About what? Did I say something inaccurate in your opinion?

No. My thirst is for violence punishment only.

Jane IS a big booty goddess. I'd simp for jane any day of the weak just to be in her mere presence. She is not just a snack she is the whole thanksgiving dinner. Sometimes I forget her name and just call her big booty Judy. I accidentally run into the killer when I'm playing jane since I'm too busy looking at that anaconda dome. I sometimes miss blights old FOV since I can't be as close to that big ol' booty.

    Are Ya Winning.jpg

I beat Jane's ass into a pulp and snap her neck and split her bones like firewood every other day.

I genuinely don't give a ######### how thicc she is, I only care that I can see her fat and gore seeping from fatal wounds all over the ground before I impale her on a sacrificial meat hook.

    But sure, she's hot.

    It's pronounced "bomk," you degenerate.

  • Okay, everyone just stop saying "Just bring Franklin's."

Franklin's doesn't just delete every item and every chest in the game, and it doesn't "functionally" do that either.

It has counters. It takes up a perk slot. It takes a huge load of BP to get, and even more to bring up to a useful level.

Not everyone has Franklin's unlocked, and even if they do, they might not get it in their Bloodweb, or maybe they're already running it, but they realized that the problem that keys reward failure and putting in literally no effort to help your team with a free escape isn't exactly negated by spending a perk slot for a perk that rewards getting hits and can easily be countered by dropping the item before you get hit or just picking the item back up.

I think you mostly got their issues right but I'm not really a fan of your changes.

-Remove the extra stun time they added

-Increase the distance you have to be from the hook to swap between them unless a survivor is within range (to prevent camping).

-Charlotte gains Undetectable while Victor is on a survivor (make it more punishing to take her power hostage)

Their slugging isn't an issue, it has lots of counter play. Her issues are her camping and Victor being taken hostage.

I feel like instead of Charlotte getting Undetectable, the survivor with Victor on them should get Oblivious.

    Otherwise, I like the changes.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"I've also noticed that it's reportable, which makes me think that, whether or not anyone is actually ever punished for doing it, it's at least considered "against the rules" to the degree that the game has rules."

This is incorrect, the Bodyblocking you are describing is totally fine and intended. You can hit the Survivors as Killer so they lose Collision with every other player, allowing you to move forward. "But then I might drop the Survivor?!"<---that is the point.

Bodyblocking is a bannable offense when you do it as a griefing method. When the Killer or another Survivor is blocking a Survivor into a Corner without any intention to move. This is a bannable offense. Bodyblocking to avoid a player getting hooked or bodyblocking someone into a Corner to get a Hit in are not bannable.

Intentional? I honestly doubt the Devs deliberately put it in.

It probably went like looping, were the survivors found an exploit and the devs were too afraid or not skilled enough to patch it out so they just said that it was something they planned from the start.

    @Gay_Police_Dept said:

"What bothered me was that there were four different times over the course of a 15ish minute game where one or more of them bodyblocked a hook."

You got perks like Mad Grit or Starstruck to deal with that, use them.

You realize that thats like saying "You're going against Doctor? You have Calm Spirit to deal with that, use it," or "You're going against Oni? You have No Mither to deal with that, use it."

You have very little if no reason to use the perk outside of niche or meme builds, except in this one case that appears very rarely and is literally impossible to predict with any level of accuracy.

Just because a counter exists doesn't mean the problem is anywhere near solved. You can run Iron Will to mitigate Stridor Spirit, but does that do anything to solve the big issue, or even really fix the original problem?

  • @KA149108 said:

I'm going against red rank killers but my team is literally dog water. Behaviour basically said "to fix match making well put a red rank killer with one red rank survivor and then the other survivors are brown rank"

I don't care what anyone says they have seriously messed something up. FIX IT!!!!

    It goes both ways.

This is why players should be able to see each other's ranks in the lobby.

  • I really like this idea.

You would have to actually use something resembling skill to get huge amounts of benefit from it.

I love the idea of the survivors having to actually time it right as opposed to using it to reach the exit gates right in front of me when I should've gotten that hit.

  • If this is real, I'm gonna buy Doc just for the Look-See skin.

I've had the money for a long time, I just hate microtransactions.
