Someone speculated in the PTB Feedback that it's MMR coming into play, which would mean it's killer-specific. THIS IS NOT A CONFIRMATION, no dev has said yes this is what happened. But it does make some sense...

This would actually be an explanation and would make sense.

  • Did you check if this applies to Survivors as well?

Cannot think of a reason why it should not be allowed, so I would assume it is a Bug.

  • Toolboxes are super-weak since they nerfed them.

  • That coming from the guy who said that original Legion was balanced and fine is a little bit strange, ngl.

  • Would not work. Some people would just hold Shift so that their friend will get an Unhook. Or because they dont want to be rescued but want some Struggle Points.

  • Survivors could just wait out both Perks without any value for the Killer (except for Setup Killers) meaning the Killer will continue the game with two Perks.

And I would say this is quite likely, since it is already a Counter against Corrupt Intervention (which is not really used), but if all or 6 Gens are blocked, there is not really a reason to risk to go on a Chase.

  • Not that Billy needed those tbh.

(Dont know how strong Bubba will be, but before PTB they were his only good Add-Ons)

They should work, but the odds of making use of them is VERY small. Making a sprint last for 5 seconds isn't common if you don't have an add-on for bettering turning. Then you would have to spend more time after that to make use of the silent chainsaw.

Haven't been in a game yet (waiting on a lobby now) to test numbers and feelings yet but from the preview videos it seems like you wont have enough total heat to be sprinting for enough time to have both effects active at once.

Chainsaw overheats slower when sprinting and does not overheat completely while Sprinting.

Unrelated, but could anyone please screenshot the add-ons?

By the way, did hillbilly and bubba get their own chase themes?

I am already downloading the Live Game again, I will not be on the PTB because Killer Queues will be super-long and I rather test the Changes on Live (where the Queues are still long but somewhat acceptable).

I guess the Screenshots will appear on the Forum today anyway.

How many Freddies do you see on a regular basis? Just curious.

Around the same. I dont see Freddy more often or less than other Killers.

The Killers I see the most are Huntress (even before the Tome) and Legion (probably because of the Tome). Least Killers are Wraith (almost never) and Hag (even tho; got a few Hags the past week).

  • I see around 1 or 2 Pyramid Heads per Day, sometimes none. Its just normal Ratio, he is not brandnew anymore, so less people are playing him. But I dont notice that he is more rare than other Killers.

  • @CashelP14 said:

Gen speeds shouldn't be changed. The only thing the game needs is an early game slowdown mechanic/perk then the game will be perfectly balanced.

While I am curious what the Devs come up with, I am twisted on this one. Many Killers already do fine and the first Gens dont matter that much anyway.

And meanwhile I also know that there will still be people complaining how fast the Gens are done, because for some players, a Gen would need to take 3 minutes so that they would be able to achieve anything in a Trial.

Why do I feel like when I don't have it, even with two on a generator, we're elephants? And when I use the perk we become jaguars ?

Sure with two people on a Gen and Prove Thyself, the Gen is faster. But if those two people would split up on one Gen each, they would be as fast as that.

Plus the Killer gets less pressure when multiple Survivors do a Gen Solo.

  • @Jill10230 said:

    The problem is Dwight perk..

Nope, not at all. I think people complaining about Prove Thyself dont understand what the Perk does.

It only negates the penalty when multiple people are on a Gen and only for 2 Survivors (not even full). Splitting up and doing several Gens at the same time is the better option anyway - Prove Thyself does nothing towards this.

It is mainly used for the Bonus-BPs.

  • "like yea killer can still do 5 gen 4 man but i think i havent seen that in a while"

SHOULD the Killer get a 4K with 5 Gens to go? Is this something you would say should be common?

That makes sense but it was a horror seeing those pallets like that again.

This should not be that much of an issue, because this means that there are not that many Pallets on the Map overall and the rest of the Map should be designed pretty generous for the Killer.

  • When the Map got generated, Tiles were placed and Pallets were placed. After placing the Tiles the minimum number of Pallets on a Map was not reached, so a Tile spawns with two Pallets to ensure that the minimum number of Pallets is on the map.

  • Agreed. Her P1 is the worst, it looks like the showered and put on her bloody Jacket afterwards. In general, her Prestige looks quite bad, which is a shame since Deathslinger has such an amazing Prestige Outfit. And Cheryl, which got released one Update afterwards, also has one of the best Prestiges in the game.

There is no blood at all on her arms or her beanie.

Please BHVR, add more blood to all prestige cosmetics.

That is an old picture, but yeah, Nea is still missing Blood on her Cleavage and Beanie. But this gets ignored every time it is brought up.

It's more your bias if you think survivor role is harder than killer role lmao, at least I know now that you are entitled whiny survivor main.

Saying that the game is the easiest it has ever been for Killer (which is true, come on) does not contradict with the statement that Survivor is easier than Killer.

Sure Killer is harder to play, its the 1 in the 1v4. But the game has become so much easier for Killer. Like, just look at Ruin - Killers are doing fine without old Ruin. This would not have been possible to think about 2 years ago.

And it is just logical to nerf the strong(er) Killers when the game becomes easier for Killer.

Its just hilarious that repeating "Billy is the most balanced Killer" seems to have the effect that Killer players dont think that he will ever be nerfed. Especially when the quote "Billy is the most balanced Killer" is repeated since 3 years or so.

  • "and I ask you to bring back legion 1.0 to make him a viable killer."

Old Legion was not even a good Killer to begin with. They took ages to down a Survivor, because you either need 4 Frenzy Hits (or 3, if you use Franks Mixtape which was completely busted) which take some time OR because you need to follow with 110% Movement Speed.

Since there was no Counterplay, Legion was able to get downs, while the rest of the Team was rushing Gens, since there was no point in Healing. So yeah, you basically get a guaranteed Down while losing the game.

  • Really, SWF will never be removed.

Just accept it or dont play the game. There is NO point at all to open Threads like this.

  • Yeah, I also cannot understand how people can ######### about the game constantly, but then play it on a regular basis every day. Either it is not as bad as they claim it to be, or they need to seek some help.

  • @Rivyn said:

@Aven_Fallen I'd consider the TR increase, recharge time increase, fatigue increase, and requiring a full meter to be pretty hard nerfs. I can't say from personal experience, I wasn't in the game at that point. Yet I have seen streamers, read up on the, what, three thousand posts about him, and looked at all the changes. Not saying he wasn't bad, again, no personal experience, but on paper, those were pretty substantial changes.

Thing is, Legion is now healthy for the game and IMO Legion is not even that bad. What sucks the most is the fatique. But being at 115% Movement speed is an improvement, because you would not need your power to actually down a Survivor. Before with 110%, this was way different.

And well, aside from cheesing his Power, the whole Feral Frenzy was stupid. Because there was no counterplay for the Survivor, and Legion needed to hit them 4 times (except when using Franks Mixtape). So a Legion can guarantee to get a Down while losing the game, basically.

So I would say, Legion is in a better spot right now than he was at release.

I would also not compare it to Hillbilly, because as OP mentioned, the Changes do not sound that significant. Of course my opinion can easily change when I test it out myself, could be possible that I will say "######### is this Bullshit", but from reading alone, it does not sound too bad.

  • @Rivyn said:

I mean, they did show off his video while using addons. . . so can you really get an objective viewpoint on that?

Not to mention how they gutted Legion. That will always bring up warning signs when it comes to 'reworks.'

Then Nurse. Remember, 'slight tweaks.' Now few people even touch her, seeing how unfun she is to play for all but the most skilled.

The Add Ons were Steering Add-Ons.

And how was Legion gutted? He was a bad Killer to begin with and was reworked into a bad Killer for different reasons.

I mean infinite fast vaults i would consider a power.

Would actually make things interesting if it forced slow vaults after a certain amount, ya know, like a fatigue bar or something.

So infinite M1-ability is also a Power for Killer?

  • @HectorBrando said:

Agreed, Survivors should have a cooldown on their power... oh wait...

    ^ this.

Survivors dont have a power. So why should they have a Cooldown? Lol

EU, PC, Steam I would prefer to have more Survivors, because my Killer Queues are long.

  • It is not that much of an achievement to get some Hooks or some Gens tbh. The only thing I see used quite frequently is the Huntress-Mask, I dont see any of the other Cosmetics. So I dont even notice that much that other players have those now.

  • Yes, most likely.

  • No, never. Loops are designed around 115% movement Speed. If a Killer has less, they get an ability to make up for that.

You can see how laughable Loops become when NOED is active, which gives 4% Speedboost. So you can say that 5% more Movement Speed would be roughly the same.

It would be really too hard to balance around 120% Movement Speed for one Killer, since his ability would actually be something that hurts him instead of help him.

  • In theory, they can also disable Moris if they change them. Make them work on PTB, but disable them on Live. If they change Keys, they can do the same.

Guess nobody (and this includes the Devs) wants to have 2-3 weeks of Mori- and Key-Spamming in the game.

This is exactly what I was saying, maybe read my comment again. The game must be fixed. We can't just leave it like that just because it affects survivors only and benefits killers.

Sadly, this is what I have read on this forum as well. There was another Thread where Killers said they would quit if they would get robbed of Hits. Meanwhile, a Survivor can get hit from Narnia and they should have to deal with that?

I think we will see how it turns out. I guess it will not really make a difference for normal gameplay and there will still be hits which are questionable, but it should work against VPNers or players with way too high Ping.

Based on their video you have ~6-7 seconds of feathering before you overheat if you start with 0 overheat. It takes ~25-30% overheat just to start a sprint with pure M2 holding. This means Billy's ability to mindgame a survivor to a bad side of the loop for a curve is severely limited if not basically removed and curving can only be done if the survivor has already put themselves in the worst possible situation. And this was with a purple add-on that may or may not have affected it.

The purple Add On was Moonshine, which affects the Steering. There will be a purple Add On which affects the Heat, however, this will be called Pighouse Gloves, so I highly doubt that there will be two purple Add Ons affecting the Heat and I also doubt that the Pighouse Gloves will get the Icon of the Moonshine.

  • That they showed first pictures of the Updated Graphics in their Anniversary Livestream does not mean that this Update will come anytime soon.

  • Because its Bullshit that I have to waste time to cleanse 5 Dull Totems for a Perk which the Killer might not even have. If the Killer does not have NOED; this time is wasted. Yeah, sure, Bloodpoints, but whatever. Those are Boldness, it will most likely be maxed out anyway. If Totems would award Survival Points, I am pretty sure they would be way better to cleanse.

Also, if you dont get all Totems and the Killer has NOED, the time is wasted as well. If the Team manages to cleanse 4 Totems, Number 5 will be NOED and it will be the most hidden Totem.

Let alone, finding all Totems with those improving Totem Spots. Sure, 5 Totems on Wreckers Yard are not that hard, but try that on Hawkins or Midwich. And when you are running around doing Totems instead of doing Gens, Unhooks or Chases, you are not helpful for the team.

I really wish they would change NOED to a Perk which gives the Killer some ability based on how well they did, but remove the Totem Part. So the better the Killer was, the stronger the effect becomes.

Would also make NOED unattractive for Campers, currently, NOED is basically a 2K for a Camper, because one person will be camped to death and NOED will activate, because there is no time to do 5 Gens (which is the counter against this "tactic") AND do 5 Totems. If it is based on the number of Hooks for example, a Camper only gets a really minor benefit from NOED.

  • @Momentosis said:

Yeah it's really only good on stealth Killers(only like 3) and only then only works with a gen low on progression.

Remove the below 50% restriction and its an ok perk on stealth Killers.

As it stands, it's completely trash. Any one who uses exhaustion perks will see that the Killer's using it and take the time to walk away for it to wear off(1 second at tier 1, 3 seconds at tier 3) if the Killer is coming to them.

The thing is (and this is a problem with many Perks in the game), even if the 50% requirement is gone, would you sacrifice any of your Perk Slots for Mindbreaker? Even on a Stealth Killer?

I cannot see myself using Mindbreaker over another Perk I usually run.

Ah damn.. I leveled ghostface 1-50 and got 44 cakes but no BBQ. Rip those 44 cakes, as I see no point in using them now.

I mean, you could use them until you have 1 Million BPs.

  • BBQ should not be a Hex.

Even tho I start to think that the Perk is not healthy for the game. Sure, it SHOULD encourage the Killer to go for different Survivors, but in reality, this does not really work out. They can camp and tunnel, if they like, as long as they get the Stack somewhat later, it does not matter.

And well, usually, if one side plays scummy, they dont get much BPs. But since BBQ exists, a Killer can get a decent amount of BPs, even when playing completely lame due to how Killer BPs work and since they only have to hook for the stack.

But I know, nobody wants to hear that on this forum. :)

  • The Icon looks nice. But thats it.

  • Yes.

So you should use your Cakes, if you want the Bonus BPs.

  • Yeah. Had a Nurse DC because she was not able to get anyone and a Legion just DCed because she missed a Frenzy Hit. There wasnt even one Gen done...

  • Chase one and hit them. Hit them a second time for a Hook. This means that only 2 Survivors are on 2 different Gens at this point.

Them being smart and efficient does not make the Killer play in a different way. It will get more difficult tho.

  • Probably either Iri Head Huntress or Spirit with strong Add-Ons. But only if I know in advance that they are a really strong SWF-Team, there was more than one occasion where I completely overstaffed my Loadout for a Potato-SWF.

  • @Zoomies said:

The reason I had to ask is because there are people who would be 100% serious; a Killer got a 4K, time to nerf them!

And given this Billy change, it's obvious that BHVR listens to those people.

    The way I see it:

"Billy is balanced" was something said for a long time, and personally, I like to play as and against Billy. A good Billy is the most fun Killer to go against. However, "Billy is balanced" only applies to Base Billy. Engravings, Tuning Guide and Cooldown Add Ons are busted.

BUT - "Billy is balanced" was said since years. Now, the game has changed and Survivors got a lot of Nerfs and Killer is the easiest it has ever been. I am Rank 1 as Killer, and would not say that I am good. So something which was balanced years ago does not need to be balanced in 2020 as well. Like, Ruin got nerfed a few months ago and Killers are doing fine. Nothing someone would have expected two years ago.

And, to come back to Huntress, personally, I think her Basekit is fine. I would wish she would not be that horrible to play against on Dedicated Servers, but whatever. The only thing that needs changes will be Iri Heads and Exhaustion Add Ons, since those are an outdated mechanic.

Given the fact that when it comes to gameplay, the Reworks were good so far, I think that Billy and a potential Huntress Rework will be good as well (I said gameplay-wise, not mentioning the Bugs of Nurse, those need to be fixed, obviously). Of course this is something I say now, when I test Billy on LIve with the changes, it can easily be that I say "Ok, what is this Bullshit?".

..Please tell me you're being sarcastic? Trapper? OP?

His power sits in one spot and can be countered by keeping your eyes open.

And when you're in a SWF, you can tell your friends about every trap you see; they never have to actually see the trap themselves, thereby hard countering him.

Rofl. 'Trapper is OP'. This is the mentality that's killing this game. 'I got killed by a Killer, so he's op!'. 😂

    This was sarcasm.

And nah, they did not need to tell (at least two of them were SWF) where the Traps are, because I placed them in the open. I got no trapped Survivors tho.

  • @Zoomies said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1415120#Comment_1415120

If you believe that, you don't play Killer. 4 survivors running the meta, SWF squads on voice comms, every viable Killer being 'altered' (read: destroyed). Killers being expected to follow fake rules or get abused...

Being a Killer is a trash experience now more than ever.

Look, just now I played a game where I wanted to play like a Baby Trapper. Like, no mindgaming, only following, moonwalking where they can see me, mediocre Perks:

    20200705191730_1.jpg

But yeah, Trapper is OP, especially with those pekrs and two brown Add Ons. And yes, this is Red Ranks, I let them all go since they brought 3 Cakes, so not Rank 1 after that, but still.

If someone really struggles at Red Ranks, they simply dont belong there.

(I mean, obviously a Killer will most likely lose against 4 man SWF Squads, meaning they are really good Players. But those are so rare, there is no point in balancing around that. Yes, there is this 1 in a 100 games where there is such a Squad which basically never loses, but nothing to worry about).

  • @Zoomies said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1415063#Comment_1415063

yes because needing to aim without a crosshair, with items that have projectile drop, and the crap hitboxes that means your hatchet breaks if it passes withing 50 feet of an object, is all 'no skill'.

But you're right; iri heads WILL get removed, because the devs cater to Survivor mains who are too lazy to learn how to play better. Killers have 0 say in what goes on.

And meanwhile Killer is the easiest it has ever been...

1 … 243 244 245 246 247 … 341
