Exactly. If "overheat doesn't matter" then why do I consistently get very close to overheating when I don't bring a cooling add-on?
Because you are probably not really good with Billy.
I almost exclusively use my Chainsaw for Downs and never Overheat. So you seem to be missing quite a lot of Chainsaws.

The Perk is 100% fine.
You get an indicator when a Survivor is running OTR. You can disable every Endurance they might have (Base, BT, OTR, potential DH) by just hitting them once they are unhooked. AND it disables whenever you do anything or in Endgame.
Really, there is no problem with the Perk. And if someone really has OTR for 80 seconds, this mean they did not do anything for 80 seconds.
-
Honestly, before the change from Ranks to Grades, I agreed. But since you get set back to Ash IV after Grade Reset, I dont really think it is an issue at all. Just wait with your Adept until Grade Reset and it is also really easy to get as Killer.
I consider escaping harder than getting a Double Pip as Killer in Ash-Ranks.

Basically hoping that the Nurse-player sucks is no Counterplay.

My guess is that they'll get for honor skins, probably
Would prefer that if this is the case. Because I prefer Original Chapters over licensed ones, so if they have an Original Chapter with Legendary Skins with licensed Content, this would be fine for me.

@AnneBonny said:
god this better not be for honor
IMO it is entirely possible that this Chapter is inspired by For Honor in any way. Since the deal back then was so one-sided that it would just make sense if there was more to it than a Charm for DBD.
@Topic:
I am happy already. A Knight as a Killer was clearly missing in my opinion, so this is a Plus already for me. And chances are also there that it will be a mobility Killer (you can easily give a Horse to a Knight, it would totally make sense) and not Anti-Loop Killer number 459.

That map is awful. Most if the pallets are a joke and good luck trying to use your power as killer on that map
^ this.
As Survivor it was a pain to play, because the Killer can just respect around 95% of the Pallets and will get a Hit afterwards because they are too weak.
And whenever I played Billy, the first game I ended up on Hawkins. Great...
In general, I never understood why so many people say they miss this map. When it was around, there were a lot of complaints about it from both sides. But I guess it is just a case of people wanting the things they cannot have.
-
Circle of Healing is not really a problem anymore. I am more happy if other Survivors dont bring it at all when I am playing Survivor.
-
I mean, do you really think they start cheating when they are in a 2v1 with 4 Gens to go? If I would be a cheater, I would start cheating before almost all of my team are dead... You even hooked that Kate at least once already.
When it comes to Boil Over, it can be annoying, but it is manageable on PC. Indoor Maps make it harder tho. And I would guess that a controller also does not make it easier to move around.

Maybe BHVR is the problem, the Nurse player second.
Most Nurse players are not a problem, those who think they need to slug all 4 Survivors before starting hooking them surely are, but most Nurse-players dont play like that. They just play a broken Killer and want to have it easy to get 4Ks, since the effort which is put in learning Nurse is really exaggerated by the community.
But BHVR is at fault to keep this broken Killer in the game like that. Nurse has no right to exist this way since 2018 or something like that.
-
Always those mental gymnastics when Stats are released that dont fit the narrative that Killers are so weak and struggle so hard.
-
You dont get disconnected for "no reason". And as long as this is not happening to a lot of other people, you can assume that the problem is on your side. And you should try to solve it before trying to play the game. Otherwise it is totally fine if the penalty increases, because the other 4 players in your games dont care if you DC because you ragequit or if you DC because you have technical issues.
-
Long ago.
Survivor went down instantly. Since I did not hear a Chainsaw, I assumed that it was an Iri Head-Huntress. I went for the rescue and suddenly a Prayer Beads Spirit jumped into my face. I almost had a heart attack, not a very nice moment.

no one asked for this finisher crap. It destroys 3 offerings by default, the possibillity to counter DS and Pallet-Saves midgame etc.
This wasnt my point.
They wanted to test it. And I would rather have a Midchapter with less content but the chance of them scrapping or reworking their version of it than a Midchapter with the Finishing Mori which will 100% come.
-
Because they were testing the Mori-System and all the stuff around it. They cannot test this AND make a huge pile of content in the same Midchapter.
And it is good that this Midchapter is small, because this means that they were able to test the Finishing Mori, even if it will not be implemented in this Midchapter. This means that it might be changed. If it would have come with this Midchapter, there would be more content, but we would also have known that they will not change it since rarely things change from PTB to Live.

Great, now people will play her because they want to hear the new music -__-

Oni. Strong and fun to play.
Artist is strong as well, but IMO she is very boring to play since the only counter to her when you shut down Loops is hold W, so you will catch the Survivor eventually because you are faster than them, but it is not really fun.
Trickster is more fun than Artist and also decent, but clearly weaker than the other two Killers.
So yeah, for me it would be Oni, because he is both fun to play and strong.

Pipe dream....not happening!
I'm going to tunnel, then you're going to come to the forums and cry because you can't handle it. That's what is really going to happen.
I dont think so.
But at least dont say that you NEED to tunnel at 5 Gens when the reality is you WANT to tunnel at 5 Gens. And apparently doing this to make the other side feel miserable and not to win. Great guy, really.

What I decide to do as a killer is my decision. Survivors don't get a choice. Live it with. Keep dreaming these silly dreams.
Then you WANT to tunnel at 5 Gens. And then you get a long stun. Which would have been totally avoidable. Easy as that.

Yes, but only when playing Nurse.

I agree as long as broken Killers don't get a Freddy size Nerf....no one needs that.....
Thats why I think that Nurse needs a full Rework to keep her interesting and strong.
I dont really think that you can nerf Nurse, because she will always be too strong unless you nerf her so hard that she is too weak. And that should not be the goal.
But the Devs will never rework her, they fear the backlash. Even if it is needed, Nurse should not exist like this in 2022. In 2016 with actual Infinites and lots of broken stuff she was justified, but not nowadays.

Sometimes you need to tunnel at 5 gens.
lel.
No Gens done and you already have some pressure because you got someone on the Hook, so two people not doing Gens at this point. Three, if you manage to get into another Chase.
"Sometimes you need to tunnel at 5 gens."... thanks for the good laugh.

Yea but they said that was the best example they could think of. But yea Nurse have become a Power Creep in her own right because of the net changes that was needed for Killers as a whole, but this also benefits high skilled players as well that didn't need it because of their skill but benefit from it.
But now because of so many players making Matchmaking so horrible because of their actions many are feeling it at all skill levels.
The difference is, if a player is good, you cannot do anything about it. Like, you cannot avoid that the good player also benefits from it, you cannot make the good player play less good.
However, the Devs can at some point start to make the broken Killer less broken. Especially if they buff general things which also benefit Nurse.

I’m all for reverting the change.. but 10 second stun is absurd.
You only get the 10 second stun if you tunnel at 5 Gens. Dont tunnel at 5 Gens and you wont get a lengthy stun.
Is it really that easy? Yes it is.
-
I have proposed something like this in some thread, but a bit different. Basically, Gens remainingx2 as Stun Time. So at 5 Gens, 10 second Stun and lower the more Gens got done. With 0 Gens to go, 0 seconds Stun, so deactivated.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
Well your last point shows she did get a nerf.
And gens may take longer but most regression perks got gutted so if anything it equals out.
Very Old nurse could have more than 3 blinks, but those blinks get massively less distance and it's why range addons are way better.
Any vet will remember versing 3blink nurses with ruin (which forced great skillchecks or your gen regressed) pop before all its nerfs. Not to mention you had less perks to help you against the killer and yet we still won.
Shes not been buffed at all in anyway, vets just delt with the game and got on with it instead of complaining but that's what happens when games become more popular
You must be really tall with all the stretching you are doing.

I think the Finisher Mori mechanic is really cool. However, I'm kinda sad that it's replacing all other Moris. The offerings and perks like Rancor and Devour should keep the ability to kill by your own hand.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3223942#Comment_3223942
I don't really get the complaints regarding the Finisher Mori overriding certain perks. The ability to pick yourself up is being made basekit, so it's not like you can "use" Unbreakable anymore. All the survivors need to do is run the killer for a decent amount of time and you're up again. Deliverance you can use in front of the killer now, since self-unhooks give you Endurance, so there's not really much point in waiting to use it on the hook.
That said, I'm not sure how overbearing 45 seconds will be. From my games on the PTB, I didn't have too many issues, games played basically as normal, but since matchmaking is turned off that really isn't a great representation of how the mechanic will play out with good teams. Two things are pretty certain though: Hooks being permanently broken on sacrifice needs to go (just revert Scourge Hooks to normal hooks instead), and Unbreakable is too overtuned.
What if I never get hooked with Deliverance up? What if I am the one who has Unbreakable, but I am the last person downed?
I feel that the finishing Mori-System combined with the changes to Self-Pickups are making the strong parts of the game stronger (Nurse, Blight, Unbreakable itself) and the weak parts weaker (weaker Killers, SoloQ).
I think that a Self-Pickup is okish, but the thing is, it is either too weak or too strong and hard to balance with all those Killers, since, as I said, the 45 seconds are too long against Nurse and Blight and too short against all other Killers basically.
And in the end, I would prefer being left for Bleedout for 4 minutes over the Finishing Mori. I mean, they are at least trying to solve unfun things of the game, but I feel with the Finishing Mori and all around it they went in a bad direction with it.
-
Pretty bad sounds about right. Sadly BHVR is pretty proud about the mori animations so they want a way to shove them onto the players. And since Moris itself are pretty weak and not used as much anymore (thankfully), you dont really see the animations anymore.
I also feel that the Mori-System drives them into some problems, mainly due to the different strength of Killers. I think 45 seconds to pick yourself up can be too less for Killers like Nurse or Blight, but too much for basically everyone else. But something like this would be needed, otherwise we end up in endless slugging-games until the Killer has all downed, which ends in a Sacrifice/Kill of all Survivors.
I also dislike that the Finishing Mori ignores basically everything you can have. You can have Deliverance up and it would not matter. You can have Unbreakable, but if you are the last person downed, it does not matter.
Really hoping that they will scrap the idea and just make the yellow Mori Basekit if they want more Mori-Animations.

Nah, sadly I am dumb enough to still try, gifting the Killer so many BPs in the process.

Not sure what role you are referring to. I found this when I wasn't working. During the day on weekdays it seems to be a lot of soloQ players but they are usually fairly decent.
I dont know about a difference in Skill Level, but it is true that you encounter more SWFs in the evening and on weekends and during the day more players are Solo.

and what does SWF have do with pallets i said SWF meaning they make the game even harder, and again the ss was just an example the whole map was like this
Exactly, SWF has nothing to do with your topic. So dont use your buzzwords.
I mean, auto-win chases for the Survivors and you still got a 4K? So either they were not auto-win chases or you are a literal god at the game.
-
Another example that you really struggle as Killer. If you have problems with Ironworks, which is one of the most balanced Maps in DBD, I dont really know what should help you.
And you are not even doing bad in this game, you probably won this one with a 4K. It cannot be easy enough for you, eh? At least you used the buzzword "SWF", because as we all know, playing in an SWF makes the weak Pallet next to the Main Build a God Pallet.

Or you could continue to play and enjoy a game of DBD even if you don’t escape because of an early dc.
You know, like a grown up might do.
But if you are not supposed to win, you are just a point-provider for the Killer. I know that some people would love it and dont see Survivors as anything else, but if you have no chance to win at all in a 3v1, you can rather run to the Killer, suicide and go into the next game.

@Ryuhi said:

It does, actually. If you get hit before the BT wears off, the BT is what gets eaten up but the OTR is restricted by the deep wounds specifically. DS resets the deep wounds allowing you to use another endurance effect. If you're not using OTR you can also use dead hard instead.
I havent seen anything in any recent patch notes saying that synergy has been disabled.
Nope, you lose your Endurance for all Endurance-Perks when you get hit. This is why current Anti-Tunnel measures are pretty bad - they all resolve around Endurance, so one hit and all are gone.
The only reason why OTR is still active is because you have the other effects (100% grunts of pain reduction and aura-read protection) still up for the full duration of 80 seconds, even if you lose your Endurance earlier.
(DH would work tho, this is true... But it is kind of a stretch to act like DS is still a good Perk)
-
@Ryuhi said:
Have you just not seen how people use it now? You take the free BT hit, get downed somewhere you will have a safe position to route to, use the DS to reset your deep wounds and reach said pallet/window, extend the chase further and still have either OTR on deck for its duration or be ready to dead hard and gain even more distance. DS is a secondary perk now rather than the main star, but it synergizes even with its own replacement.
lel.
Eating a Hit with BT but keeping OTR. Funny guy. This does not work.
DS with 3 seconds is useless. This is not even a point of discussion.
-
Both Perks could get some part of their Nerfs reverted. E.g. DS can easily go back to 5 seconds and Ruin can go back to 200% Regression. And if both keep the other Nerf (deactivating during Endgame for DS and deactivating when a Survivor is dead for Ruin), it would also be alright, fair Nerfs.
However, the goal was to remove those two Perks from the Meta. BHVR intentionally made them so bad that nobody really wants to use them anymore. 100% Regression for Ruin are bad and 3 second for DS is just useless.
So they wont un-nerf those two Perks, because they need them to be useless so that they can say that they "changed the Meta". While it is the same as before, just with different Perks (especially on the Killers side).

It takes barely no time at all, and because CoH benefits from being as far away from the killer as possible there's little risk of it being snuffed, and if it is snuffed then thats a ton of free gen progress. Even if it did take time, the time saved from having infinite fast self heals makes up for it 100 fold.
I would benefit more if that muppet who keeps setting up their Boon would actually do a Gen. Especially against those "I play 4 Slowdown-Perks so that the game takes ages so that even I can win"-Killers who are very common these days. You need every second on a Gen against those and if I see that the guy who set up a Boon at the beginning of the match is setting up their boon again while nobody is injured or anything, something is dying inside me.
-

Yes because it hands out free wins against hit n run killers and deletes a major way killers make pressure. So killers start tunnelling whenever they hear the boon sound.
Eh. I think we are at the point where games without Circle of Healing are better for the Survivors. At least for the majority, because Survivors waste so much time setting up Boon-Totems instead of just doing Generators.
-
Personally, I would like to see Negan as a Survivor in DBD.
However, I really dislike Survivor only-Chapters. Because they will come with a busted Perk, because you need something for the people who are not completionists and dont buy a character just because they like them.
And I would rather not have MoM 2.0, which is busted on release and then nerfed into Oblivion.
-
People still complain about Circle of Healing? Oh my...

Constant Survivor Incentive for months which indicates that there are too few Survivor players.
100% Killer incentive happens, which is very rare: "cannot be a good sign".

Game must be in a very good state when people complain about this. Have not seen those Add-Ons in months (basically since last Halloween).

Basekit UB exists because of the new change to mori. But I can’t recall anyone asking for the mori redesign BHVR wants. It doesn’t help survivors, and it just seems to remove agency from killers. Was there some sort of toxicity that lead BHVR to implement this new system?
IMO BHVR likes the Mori-Animations and they want that the players can see them more often. However, with current Moris this is not the case, because they are not as strong as they used to be (rightfully so).
Personally, I dont care about the animations at all and I dont think that the Finishing-Mori should be a thing.

This is not the thread to be doing this in. Normally I cometely agree but this level of anti-consumer bullshit should never be tolerated.
IMO it is fine to blame BHVR for this. But not to blame the people who buy those Skins. I mean, BHVR should see how bad their idea is if people are actually thinking to not buy the Skins because they dont want to support this model.
But if someone has the money and wants the skin, they should just buy it. It is their money, after all. And telling them not to do it, or even worse, blaming them, is wrong.
(I remember back then that we had the same with the Lisa-Cosmetics and with Sets. When I bought the first Nea-Set, people on the Forums reacted as if I just ate their pet, because I supported something THEY did not like.... It is not different here. I dont like that BHVR released time-exclusive cosmetics, but if others dont care about it, they should just buy the Skins).

This does not look like it will be the case with those two cosmetics.
Usually, when a Rift-Cosmetic is introduced, it is exclusive for some time until it hits the Shop. For themed Cosmetics (like Halloween) it will take around a year, so we can expect Mikaelas Witch-Outfit to be part of the Store this Halloween.
However, those Outfits look like Store-Outfits and with them being available for a limited time, it probably means that you will be able to get them now and then never again. And this really should not be the case.
