I'm down for it

yes.
because meta =/= most used perk.
meta = Most Effective Tactic Avaiable.
and DS is still one of the best perks in the game. it's just not the "undisputed king" anymore

I'm talking about crouch walking behind a player so a chase doesn't trigger and also preventing them from removing the trap. It's the same as old moonwalking Legion.
so am I.

I think thats why pig gets such a bad reputation. Even in red ranks the majority of pigs I see will do that whole "not chasing, crouching na na na na" to just cheese a gauranteed kill and have no idea how to use her ambush at loops.
Amazing they haven't removed that yet, it's indefensible.
it's not cheese if they didn't tunnel the person. just smart.

39. An often proposed solutions to weaker killers are an add-on base. Wraith, Clown, Demogorgon. Do you believe this is a good way to buff killers? And if so what others could use this?

40. Id say demos middleground is good. Wraiths and clowns were definitely good. Other than those few i just see trapper getting bag basekit since it takes far to long to setup without one. Maybe legion could use 1 more second of ff? Idrk.
you both added numbers in the last few posts.
this latest question is supposed to be number 38

Honestly i agree with what you said, expect the shrine, the only think that they should do for the shrine, it's to not spawn perk from free character there, i think for the rest it's a fine sistem
I think either double the perks or rotation in the shrine would improve it a lot.
-
I don't like the time reducing effect, but the rest is fine.
not sure why it's a hex... is it glowing the entire match doing nothing?
because in that case... yeah, keep the time reduction, but maybe 25% should be the max
-
others already said it, but I'm going to aswell.
this isn't pay to win. you don't need the DLCs to play this game at it's highest levels. and the best characters are free or getable with shards.
that said... the grind is INSANE. and something really should be done to help it.
like, getting 2 perks every bloodweb. every single one.
the bloodpoint effects of WGLF and BBQ are now base.
shards in the free track of the rift. enough for 1 character at least.
shrine of secrets with double the perks. but not random anymore, on rotation.
-
wasn't evolve that game where it's full price, but you only get 1 of each character and had to play a million hours to unlock other stuff or pay like 20 bucks for a character?
yeah, I don't see dbd sinking that low...ever...

depends...
1- is he good with his zap timing?
if yes, I'm way more inclined to drop the pallets earlier.
if not, just play normally
2- does he try to zap me every single time in every single loop?
if yes, I get more reckless on the pallet drops and wait as much as possible. because it takes longer to catch up
if not, the pallet probably gets dropped sooner since he's a bit faster.
3- is he a guesser or a zoner?
guesser, just dodge the zap. it's super easy when he just guesses where you are going.
zoner, really depends on the loop and timing. (be a zoner, force me to move away)
and in general.
I usually go into a locker if I'm inside his tr after he hooks someone. to avoid the blast that usually comes right after.
and that's basically it... I don't think there's any other doctor specific thing that I do
-
no.
but, it also doesn't show spirit when she phases (as in, the husk doesn't have an aura). this sometimes comes into play... so there's that...

Thank you for the feedback, I changed the time for when the gen is blocked so itβs slightly longer.
30 seconds is more than enough... it's mostly to dodge pop and it does that easily.
also allows the killer to maybe use the pop if he really goes for it and ignores other stuff
-
also, I don't see a point to guilds... just ask your "insert platform you play on" friends to swf
-
moris don't need to be anything more than cool kill animations
-
1 - he starts with all his traps. (or purple bag is base at least)
2 - grass actually exists on all maps.
3 - dead hard doesn't work on the traps anymore.
edit 4 - there's a chance to get trapped when disarming his traps

Okay, so the percentage thing was not something I was remembering correctly. Fair enough. That said, those notes VERY much do not suggest that the Bear Traps function the same way as the Jigsaw Box. It SAYS that you only have a 16% chance of escaping on each attempt for the first five attempts and then a 100% chance of escaping on the sixth.
yeah. we both got something wrong...
but I'm still very suspicius of the % being exactly 1/6. silly pattern seeking brain...

I'm not taking about what's fair. I'm taking about what the devs said.
The Trapper:
- Escaping from a Bear Trap now has a 16.6% chance of succeeding on each attempt, but are capped at a maximum of 6 attempts
- Addons that reduce the chance of escape increase the maximum number of attempts as well as reducing the chance per attempt
seems to me that what I said is closer to this description than a % increase. since a % increase isn't even mentioned

I am aware that it does not necessarily mean he is wrong. However, you have not demonstrated that Otz is necessarily correct either but are merely expecting me to take him at his word for no other reason than the fact that he is a well-versed streamer.
his video was just easier to find. I'm kinda lazy...
but no, I don't expect you to take it at face value.
the escape chance used to be a flat 25%, this sounds small but. as you probably know, people were escaping on their first try all the time. making it quite frustating for the trapper players, making it so unless they are very close by, they usually didn't bother.
if there was a flat increase on the %, the 2nd try would be at 33%, and the 3rd at 50%. meaning the problem wouldn't be solved, just delayed by 1 attempt to escape. and worsened after that. also, the chance of escaping on your 3rd try would be almost exactly the same as you escaping on the 4th, 5th and 6th combined. which is silly.
but if you have the random 1 to 6 attempts predetermined when you step on a trap, the likely hood of escaping on any attempt is the same. but by virtue of having less possible attempts, you are more likely to escape after each attempt. which seems more fair to me. (and since pigs thing is already in the game, they can just reuse her code for simplicity)

When I said paired with bots, I meant as a survivor, not as a killer.
I don't like going against survivors that are clearly new where the game paired me against them simply because I decided to pick up a new killer, anymore than I do surviving with them randomly. That isn't fun for me.
"When I said paired with bots, I meant as a survivor, not as a killer."
so did I.

I mean, I said a little bit and yes they are different. It's almost like 3 skill checks in one.
https://media4.giphy.com/media/uZiNfBxDTnuC65lZem/giphy.gif
Point is that for a new person it's not going to be as easy the first time.
Personally I don't have a problem going against a higher level rank, as long as I feel like I can learn and become better. Besides, if we are talking about DBD a game heavily RNG based... where many things like map set ups, maps in general, and in-game actions dictated by one side exist, fun then becomes subjective. You can go against someone as "good" as you but they struggled because as a killer you might have gotten a really bad set up, and as a survivor you might have been teamed up with bots (to put it lightly).
dbd skill checks also aren't easy for someone going the first time... that's not really a point.
fun was a description, not a criteria.
you always have a chance to win and can't be steamrolled by a really good killer or swf
so your game example doesn't work, because it didn't follow the actual mmr idea.
you won't struggle any harder than the survivors, and you won't get paired with bots (unless you have similar skills to a bot)

Otz is not a game developer. I had someone try to tell me something blatantly wrong before (I think it was that luck affects chest item rarity) and backed it up by saying that Otz said so.
indeed, he isn't a game developer. doesn't mean he's wrong.
-
got 2 keys and this offering yesterday.
happened to go to lery. also happened to be using devour hope because my doctor had pretty bad luck on the bloodweb... got 3 kills from it, the other escaped. fun game.
-
"the skill checks are a little bit harder than DBD"
they really aren't...as long as you press the button you don't even fail.
let me actually read the post now.
ok, match making on hsh:s is just whoever is avaiable, because there's not a lot of people. which is why a noob can go against the best player in the game. (which is a bad thing, in case that's not clear)
but when you get survivors that know what they're doing, you lose. in this part, dbd is very similar. only dbd is more balanced currently...
either way, dbd mmr aims to make every game fun. meaning, you always have a chance to win and can't be steamrolled by a really good killer or swf. which, on my personal experience, it did.

There's also only like 3,000 people playing Home Sweet Home with an apparently bad server system. DbD has like 50,000 on PC alone, not including every console. There are a lot more players to pull from which muddies up the matchmaking a lot.
south america doesn't even have a server...fun...

Many find her unfun because of her lack of counterplay.
There was a bug a little while back that allowed survivors to hear Spirit's footsteps while she was phasing. I would just add that back into the game as a feature. This way Spirit is still strong, but now has some counterplay for survivors to use.
if only footsteps was something you can actually hear in the game... XD

Eh? I don't recall that being how Bear Trap escapes work. Last I recall, each attempt has a certain percentage of success, early attempts have a lower chance, later attempts have a higher chance, and I think you are guaranteed to escape on the sixth attempt if you haven't already.
yes. because the escape attempt that will succeed is chosen when you set the trap. with 6 being the cap.
but explaining this concept is a lot harder than just saying
"you have a 1/6 chance of escaping in the first try, and your chances improve each try until #6 where you always escape"
only they didn't say "1/6 chance" they used the percentage, which is 16.6666...%

Anyone that has played killer or has a novel understanding of the game would instantly recognize that permanently removing up to 8 hooks per game / removing the primary means for both the killer to progress their goal and for survivors to gain easy altruism points is never going to happen.
oh. ok.

What an oddly specific scenario, where are we supposed to meet these people and how would we know? This one is not specifically asked but seems close enough
A friend of mine who has no idea about Dbd except the basics knows I play it a lot, he once asked me what my main is, I said I don't really have mains but I like Pig and Trapper the best
Then he read through the wiki and concluded "Wow these 2 have to be the bests, if you know where and when to place your traps you will win most of the time"

Yeah, but people like @Weck and yourself have actually clicked on the 'Play as Killer' option on the title screen before >_>;;
I don't know what you're trying to say here... π€¨
-
you know how sometimes killers sacrifice a couple a couple survivors and accidentally create a deadzone in a corner of the map?
meaning if you go down there he literally can't hook you?
and this happens on a normal game?
survivors breaking hooks permanently should never be added to the game. period.
in the example I gave, it's the killers fault for not paying attention.
but with breakout, it's BS.

It's not busted at all, it's even bad. It's just a meme perk and it doesn't need changes.
If he even gets enough stalk to start instant killing people y'all played terribly. Playing bad doesn't mean an addon needs nerfs.
Realistically against people even remotely decent all the gens will be done before he gets to use it.
I think you confused the iridescent add-on (which is indeed a meme) with the tombstone piece (the purple one) which is actually busted if he killer wants to take advantage of it.
