  • I just had a strange 4min game right now. With Dredge I saw two survivors on a gen, went over there and saw one of them taking position behind a pallet, just before my locker aura reading ended. I snuck up to them and got a hit, during the pallet stun got blinded, but guessed the direction they headed to right, anticipated the DH and had a down within 20s or so. That player immediately DCed. The second survivor on that tile set had hit themselves in a locker and went on a hook. Then I teleported to a far away gen, found and downed the survivor there pretty quickly and then I walked into a corner, to let the last one save the two, because all I wanted was a few hooks.

Turned out that the final survivor was AFK in a locker and couldn't ber persuated to wriggle off. 4:17min and that game was done. I felt rather flabbergasted, but what ya gotta do?

Then just keep leveling him. You don't have to prestige.

Or just prestige everyone you can during the event, so that you unlock their perks on tier 3 for everyone, once the grind reduction goes life (probably August or something).

Let someone go? You're a bad guy for not letting more people go.

Don't let anyone go? You're a bad guy for not letting one person go.

Let more people go? You're a bad guy for not killing everyone and 'babying' survivors.

Why should killers try to be nice at all, if they are going to be abused no matter what they do?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3006365#Comment_3006365

    See above.

It's frigging impossible to make survivors happy right now, as no matter what you do someone is going to get upset about it.

"It's frigging impossible to make survivors happy right now" - yeah, thats because we neither have a homogenious group of survivors, nor killers. Whenever someone gets tilted by this or that behaviour someone from the other camp will quickly chime in "I never do this" or "oh yes? But you know what your people do regularly? Despicable!".

The fabled "survivors rule book" by now has so many editions, revisions, submissions, gosh no one can keep up. Its the old problem: if you try to please everyone, you will please no one. Here is how I solve the problem for myself: I am a killer main, who now also plays a fair share of survivors, so I know how aweful hardcore tunneling feels. So I take the stuff that I thoroughly despise and don't do it, but also add my own arbitrary rules into the mix. IE I don't hardcore tunnel and most of the time let at least the last survivor go, and I also never equip DH. During the event I usually try to go for 8 hooks, but if someone tilts me, I will happily kill them. And if you do anything that tilts me, I might hardcore tunnel you out of the game.

I guess this is more or less the way how most people do it, but just make a few rules for yourself and mostly stick to them, with room for special occasions. Oh, and twitch streamers are always on probation. There are a fair share of nice people there, but more often then not they will be quite the toxic bully bunch, because that is just more fun content. So I am more willing to tunnel or slug them, then other survivors. But I also found a few nice peeps via twitch streams of my games that I watched AFTER the trial and that were quite wholesome and fun.

Just had a match where the killer killed everyone, but let the last person escape...

It's the anniversary and everyone but one person used a flan... how rude could you be. If you're gonna let one person escape you should of let everyone farmed some bloodpoints before you killed them at-least but nope... just rude as hell.

He had the audacity to say it was fun at the end-game chat... wasn't fun.

LOL. Your post is missing so much nuance and context. Escaping is just 5k, substantial but not the be-all, end-all. During the event I usually try to go for 8 hooks, but sometimes thing escalete to a few kills, sometimes even a 3k. But when you are playing for 8 hooks, no one should leave the grounds with less then 24k, so does it even matter if you life or die?

Even though we have a sweat fest, a lot of killers are still trying to play in a fun way that lets everyone have a fair share. Don't blame someone who doesn't want to farm, yet still gives everyone a fair game, blame the MMR system that sees "ah, 3 escapes in a row ... here is this murderous killer. Have fun."

  • In the past I would have jumped on this bandwagon and cried at the top of my lunges, but times have changed. For one, people are right in that its too early to jump to conclusions, let us first see what this all is about and maybe get a few sneak peaks and get a feeling in which direction this whole thing is going.

Second, BHVR seems to have noticed that they were haemorraging killers badly and that they needed some qol changes to keep the playerbase and the game as a whole viable.

BHVR might not love the killer from a business standpoint, ie way lesser cosmetic sales, but they can't effort to hate him, either.

Only reason it's a chore is because you're trying hard to win. If you truly wanted to have fun you wouldn't caring about winning at the same time. If you deny this then you played DBD with a competitive mind set. What a paradox, eh?

Sorry, thats thats exremely condescending. Also based, but formost patronizing. "The only reason its a chore" implies that there is no other solution or reason, literally the only one. "If you truly wanted to have fun" ... ugh, what is this? Playground psychology?

    @Myla said:

But TC said he didn't play DBD to be competitive? What do you mean he's playing a PvP game to win :)?

If you're playing a PvP game to win just admit it don't be like TC who is pretending that he's not.

There is a fair chunk of the community that just wants to play the game as a leasure peace, ie having a decently timed chase, hook some people, get outplayed here and there and sometimes getting a kill or two. But nowadays you can't end a chase without reading a book about mindgames and dealing with DH, and if you get a down, 2 possible 3 gens will pop.

The game is still rather balanced around how it was played during its inception, when no one knew what a loop was, when the killer was big and scary and when the developers thought that seperating the survivors WAS ACTUALLY IN THE KILLERS FAVOR! and made it a killer item.

The only sorta fun games you have now are those, when the MMR throws a baby squad at your feet that isn't hyper efficient. Then you could play your part as a scary killer, problem is that you might accidentially slaughter them and skin them alive, because you went full on hard mode from the get go.

MMR is the hallmark of a competitive game, yet DBD was always marketed as the "lol that killer party game with all your favorite franchises". This all doesn`t add up and made the game bleed players like there is no tomorrow.

Add to this that most franchised killers are more or less a chore to play and the game falls short of miles and miles of its potential. This has all been discussed to death, but its still frustrating every single day, because this game could be so much more, and sometimes its moment of briliance and greatness shimmer through, but then it will all be washed away and drained in a flood of sewage.

Tunneling and Camping is way more common than tombstone Myers, or even just Myers in general...

I personally don't mind giving someone the achievement if I'm 100% sure theyre going to get it, but a lot just expect people to stand still and take the mori and when it doesnt happen they just slug and let you bleed out.

So, is sitting on the floor bleeding out for 4min defiently that much better then writing the game off and just go on? Again, I am not talking about entitlement here, but the sheer amount of hate and vitriol baffles me. By now I understand that Tombstone Myers is not fun and not lucrative to go against, but a lot of people actively enjoy spiting the killer. Waiting in a locker as the last survivor and stubbornly bleeding out gains you nothing but a very miniscule amount of BP, by being a massive time waster for everyone.

What happend to her? I mean she is still very good, has good add-ons. She is still in top 3. Why so few people play her nowdays? Even Sadako has probably bigger chance to see than her lol (in my games at least).

Her biggest problem is that survivors get infinitely more info on her, then she on them. You hear this very loud voooshing sound when she is zooming about, yet unless they are running you don`t see marks and Iron Will, a rather meta perk, completely shuts down her other major detection tool.

  • @Marigoria said:

Killers say they don't owe survivors fun by camping and tunneling, sure. But then they can't be surprised when survivors also don't owe you an achievement where they get nothing out of it.

I was just surprised by the sheer amount of it. I have yet to have a bad roll of 16 tunnels and camp in a row ^_-

I know it's an achievement, but playing into Tombstone is one of the worst experiences in the game. You get no chases, and bare minimum points, then the killer attacks for the first time and someone is just dead. It's not fun and generally people getting hit with that level of BS pretty quickly lose interest in doing something nice for the killer, especially since there's no guarantee they're trying for the achievement and not just using add ons that make the game unenjoyable. Saying "you must not use the only tool available to stop me instakilling you, because that's bad manners" isn't gonna fix the flawed design of both the add ons and the achievement, and if I can waste a minute of your time by being in a locker while you stare at it to give any remaining teammates the chance to repair a gen and potentially get out, that's literally my only option besides giving up and dying.

Well, you ain't wrong, but I guess its the attitude of the latter part of your post thats responsible for all the sweat we are getting this event. Instead of having some kind of shared experience, everyone is hyper focused on the maximum gains and, barring that, spitting in the other sides soup.

  • @anarchy753 said:

This isn't bringing the worst out of the community, it's showing the lax nature of the devs approach to the game.

The survivors don't need to roll over and die just because you say so, and if getting in a locker extends their game then that's literally the only play they have. The devs have had literally years to let Tombstone mori on a locker grab and have chosen not to. Blame them, not the people doing their only job, surviving.

I still object, mate. I don't demand for survivors to "roll over and die just because I say so", nor do I feel entitled to this achievment being handed to me for free. But when you get the snowball rolling on 3 gens and kill two of them, the others literally have no reasonable way out of this. Going and hiding into lockers at that point is only done to spite the killer, not because they want to maximize their BP. People even gloat about this and one commenter here even said that its "probably one of the funniest things in dbd". Thats the attitude we are dealing with, here.

And I wouldn't have minded or even considered making a post about this if it happend a couple of times, but its 16 times in a row. I realized by now that I was a bit naive with me estimate of a carefree environment during an event, but it still baffles me how often people willingly accept a hatch offering, yet no one seems to be able to stomach the loss of 5k BP at the advantage of another player from the enemy team, when everything is lost. 16 times is a big enough attempts that you would think that you could run into one of the "memeing SWF who are just in it for the fun" of legends, but I rarely got that much vitriol in the chat till I tried to tackle this.

But yeah, I learned my lesson. Again, thanks everyone for commenting.

  • Thanks for all your kind words. I now see why the event might not be the best time to tackle this challenge ^_-

  • @Canas said:

I consistely score less than survivors do in my games, this is simply messed up. Whenever I try to bring an anniversary offering I immediately get sweat squads who will loop me throughout the entire game while the rest of the team keeps splitting gens to finish them as quickly as possible. The result might be a meager bp reward for everyone but I'm the one who especially suffers from this since survivors still get 5000 bloodpoints for free after escaping.

Even if we disregard events and their nature as a whole we still have to consider the hardships casual style killerplayers like me have to endure. I don't bring meta perks into my games nor do I play the best possible killers, I am simply playing the killers I genuinely like and choose perks which highlight their playstyle. Sadly survivors don't do anything like this at all, they rather bring the same 3-4 perks into every single match and deny me the ability to enjoy the game at all by playing as dirty as possible. There's literally no room for players like me.

There should be a serious discussion about compensation here. Right now playing as a m1 killer feels like an extremely ungrateful job with meager income and no paid vacation days. There should be an union to combat this type of exploitation.

One thing that I learned pretty quickly: many teams have something that I call the "designated harasser", ie a survivor always with a flashlight, 90% with a flashy outfit and 100% with DH and possible Window of Opportunity and Self Heal. This survivor ain't afraid of you and perfected their loop game a long time ago. While all other survivors quickly jump on a gen, the designated harasser will bumble around and in their perfect game plan you will see them from accross the map, try to catch and waste an extraordinary amount of time to down them, if at all.

The best way to deal with them? Ignore them, patrol gens and just harass some other survivors. Bonus points if they try to get your attention by running in front of you, fast vaulting random windows and clickety clicking their flashlight as fast as their macro allows. They will often hover you in order to swoop in for a flashlight save on another survivor, and all this is actually to your advantage, as it means one less survivor on gens, and sometimes you can sneak in a free hit here and there.

Not every team has such a bravado, but its highly advisable to identify this looping gods and NOT waste time with them until they are the last one standing. They usually greed pallets like mad and get away with it, due to hundreds hours of looping under their belt, but if you played your cards correctly, some less apt survivor will happiliy predrop all god pallets in panic and allows you to get rid of them.

Good harasser will just join the gen squad once they notice that you ain`t interested in them, but the closer they are to the age of 12, the more easy they are tilted by this and try to get your attention badly.

Of course don't take everything in this tract at face value, but I have met a lot of harassers in my time and foiled their dirty little game.

Yeah, which is why I asked. This makes...absolutely no sense.

Even if they were nerfed by 50%, these challenges would be unobtainable. This feels like these rewards might be a bit of an anniversary prank by the devs in that case.

They should just throw out a hot fix that let all actions be counted passively without a cap. That way we could truly see what this community is capable off when there is a cosmetic on the line.

  • Its ok. I will cope, seeth and mald, till we meet in the fog!

  • I think is passive is ok, but his chains are atrocious. They require a complicated skill shot to land, during which you can't move and am a sitting duck, and even when you do a perfect hit you can barely close the gap to the survivor and you even break your own chains.

Maybe make Engineers fang base kit? :P I know, thats a controversial hot take, but at least then you would get something back for your investment.

Another idea: make the chains auto aim, just like during chain hunts. This way Pinhead could throw the portal somewhere and keep moving, while the chains attack the nearest survivor. BAM! And suddenly his power is useful while it can still be dodged, just like during chain hunts.

I really like Pinheads style, but he feels just so weak to play and unrewarding to use his power. If you miss the skill shot you are even harshly punished. Disgusting.

    Fun fact of the day:

RSVP is an acronym that stands for a French phrase which translates to “respond, if you please”. It’s usually accompanied with an invitation so the receiver can confirm whether or not they will be attending the event.

Dang, I went through the whole thing and thought "oh nice! no one answered what it actually means. Now comes my time to shine!" only to find YOU in literally the last entry :V

I will add this: RSVP is an acronym for the french phrase "Répondez s'il vous plaît". Everything else you said still applies.

So I decided to stop playing nice and brought out my Pyramid Head. I specifically have him made up to be harsh. Every meta is on my list.

They brought New Parts? Well I closed half the map for two minutes thanks too Corrupt Intervention.

They bringing flash bombs and lights? Tier three Lightborn Will sort them out.

They trying to dead hard? Hello Path if Judgement.

Decisive strike have you scared? Send them to the Cage of Atonement for fun.

Someone body blocking? Strike them down with Starstruck.

And as a final thing. Did one of them really not put on a cake so they can choose a map they have memorized? Go get some BBQ and Chili.

Am I being a sweaty try hard? Yes, but no one can say that they don’t sweat sometimes too out of spite.

I would sub that BBQ with Franklins Demise. Nothing riles up those try-hard sweat squads more, then losing the grip on their precious god-flashlight and awesome anniversary medkit. Besides that: have fun.

  • Dismal place? Check

    Suffering together? Check

Floor easily flushable to get rid of vicera and gore? Check

Yeah, I see were you are coming from, I feel that energy, too.

  • Actually, all this swimsuits and pyjamas and "cute" animal-suits kinda kill the moot for myself. Just going to say, you can play like a normal player and not be going out of your way to anger the killer and they'll still find something to be upset about which can lead to being slugged for 4 minutes.

Like I was doing the achievement to escape chases by going into lockers so I brought headon, stunned the killer once with it after escaping a chase in the locker and they decided they wanted to be toxic towards me in return (in the end game chat).

Fair objection. The game is big enough that probably every kind of situation happend at least a few times and we all know that there are bad apples and foul eggs in both baskets in ample numbers. But my experience don't reflect that 4min slug fests are a big problem that happens regularly to random people. I for myself never had to experience it, but I am not denying that it happens, there are way too many stories about this.

But being a killer main myself, I can't see me doing this do random survivors who just had a normal game with me. If one of those was BMing me at every opportuninty, shadowed me like mad in order to prevent every single pick up, etc and was super full of themselves and their ability to loop me for 5 gens, well, if I got that survivor last, yeah, I might slug them for 4min. But with randoms? Thats an aweful lot of commitment.

  • @socalfusions said:

Never seen such a lopsided balance of power in a game where one side is effectively helpless in achieving the games main objective. Every single match I've had during the anniversary event and just in general against a competent nurse is a guaranteed 4k as not even the better survivors can deal with an uncounterable mechanic. Dead hard is not a counter to nurse as the potential loop it could have gotten you is irrelevant and you go down anyways. Frankly I just feel offended to be matched against a Nurse that proceeds to wipe my solo que team, it's a complete waste of everyone's time and not competitive in any sense.

Nurse is just a blaring example of how out of touch of reality the asymetrical nature of this game was originally designed to be and honestly surprises me everytime they release a major update and leave this killer untouched while also not providing any new or updated tools for survivors to use.

I actually love versing nurses. I have become quite good at changing my behaviour rather erratical and most of the time I can waste soo much time of a nurse. Well, I guess that they weren't the fabled god nurses of legend, and eventually I would go down in 9/10 cases, but sometimes I manage to run them for 1-2 gens.

The key is that nurses counterplay isn't static, but always a mindgame. Most mindgames are 50/50s and with most nurses the first mindgame is nearly always a 95/5% chance in your favor if you know what you are doing. Most survivors try to run away in a straight line, so when you hear her charge up, run in her direction and she will just zoom past you. You can do this a maximum of two times, befor the nurse wisens up to it, and then the true mindgames begin: you do indeed go straight. Or to the side. Or stand still. I don't know, and so shouldn't do the nurse.

Eventually you will gamble wrong, and you will get caught, but if you stay erratic a nurse won't just catch you in two blinks and 15s. She is still strong, but also a lot of fun to verse.

Funny that even with the disclaimer the first replay is this.

So you disagree with the idea beacuse you assume that killers only doing this because survivors being d*ck to them, and the same time you say there are mean killers out there?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004031#Comment_3004031

4 min in normal situation is fine. It encourge killers to hook.

The thing is, that this game has no catch-up mechanic for the losing side. I always proposed this in some way, like if the radio of hooks vs gens done is highly in the killers favor, slightly incease gen repair and heal speed, if its the other way around, maybe give the killer a speed boost; but people obviously hate such a mechanic, because it sours the achievment of playing good and might incentivice people with certain builds to play bad, in order to get a big bonus, etc. Fair enough.

But without such a mechanic in place, most games snowball in favor of one faction at one point. Its much easier for the survivors to come back from a few early hooks, but you sometimes see survivors purposefully killing themselves on first hook when they are downed rather fast or are versing a killer they don't like. If you could just opt out of an unfavorable match, we would have much less gametime being played. A lot of players would rather suicide if they could do so with just the press of a button, and be off to the next game, were they might be dominating.

Slugging for 4min is really unpleasant, but at least the time is ticking down. Ever experienced a game were the killer fell into the clutches of a bully squad? They will leave the last gen 99ed and just try to torment the killer as much as possible. And all the killer can do is either indulge them, eat a DC penalty or stand in a corner. There are anecdotal stories of people dragging this on for as long as possible, until the killer DCs. But this occurences are so rare that they don't warrent a mechanic that could easily be abused in normal game play.

  • But there is so muhc love to give, so much chili to be made and only 13 days left! Panic!

“Update” as in they’re likely bugged, yes. Hooks are currently spawning without regard for the distance between them, it would seem.

Maybe Midwich school is now playable without the game thinking "there is a hook just 5m away", even though there is no stairs to reach it. For real, Midwich might be a bit killer favored because its so smol, but I HATE the hook spawns, there. I had so many survivors wriggle free, because there was just no hook in reach. Aweful.

Thats what I mean! Meaningful conversations are really awkward and hard to pull off, while smacktalking and real savage insults are easy to pull off. BHVR got that backwards, somehow. Maybe we should tell them?

  • Another solution: don't be a d*ck to the killer. I have actually never been slugged for playing normal, but seen it a few times done when spectating. Most of the times they were really good, but also BMing the killer at every opportunity. Not saying that there aren't any really mean spirited killers out there, but I would recon that most normal games a killer wouldn't waste their own time just to ruin some random strangers gaming experience? Thats not true. I've had plenty of wholesome chats in the games endgame chat. They are far outnumbered to the nasty ones for sure, but they exist I assure you.

That was meant tongue in cheek and you are right, BUT its also true that a real conversation is rather difficult, because you can directly talk about a player or character or certain tactics like tbagging etc and must dance around this subjects, while a lot of smacktalking isn't censored at all. So it either makes you wonder, or it figures, right?

  • At the end of the day you can't have a meaningful conversation at the post game chat and discuss any interesting or cool situations that happened during the game, so the only real option left is either "gg wp" or the much more prefered smacktalk and throwing slurs and insults back and forth as its tradition in online gaming. Wow. Look at that mass slugging. Disgusting. Learn to play the game correctly, 4head.

I'm loading into a match right now, but I can show you the results of my latest toxic survivor game. Steve squad littered all over the floor.

A sad example of the depth of depravity which ultimately lead to Franklin's Demise. Don't be a Franklin. Use items responsible. Thanks

  • What I am really missing is a page ingame, where you can see what event rewards you have already unlocked. Until you get everything you sorta have to manually look at all the characters and see for yourself. But I guess thats a rather high tier complaints, as all the stuff is free and we still got 13 days to go :D

  • Here is my counter to all the negativity, when things work out nicely.

And one were I killed one player whom I let wriggle out three times, but who wouldn't get the clue to donate his toolbox. I was a bit sad myself, but its the only way to educate the masses. And the one who dies earlier died to my goldfish brain, I thought he was on hook stage 1.

Damn you make me bit feel im evil killer I play for 3K and let last one escape usually. I try to play fair as is possible while I can still win. Few matches I let 2 escape but usually I want to pip.

By all means, its not mandatory or anything ^^ But everyone benefits and its a nice change of pace, if it works out. But there is still a giant share of sweaty games were the survivors try to foil each and every hook by either flashlight saves or bodyblocks/sabotage actions.

On the other hand, I had a really fun and somewhat bizzare action lately. It was a game were we finished all gens without a whiff of the killers terror radius and no one went down or anything. Then people swarmed out to find items, invitations, loot boxes, whatever, and suddenly one goes down and gets immediately hooked in the basement. Turned out there was a basement defender Bubba the whole time :D The other two survivors tried to trade hooks and it didn't really work out and soon there were two survivors hanging on the hooks in the basement.

I came down there, looked at the Bubba and he just shook his head. I nodded and walked to his side and together we watched the two fools die. I then waved him good bye and left the trial.

Killers haven't exactly been going easy either, bud. Everyone's sweating their ass off right now.

I guess its sometimes hard to judge from the survivors perspective. I go for 8 hooks and don't try to sacrifice anyone, unless they are super obnoxious. When I got someone on deathhook and chase them, but don't down them, just breathing down their neck, they wisen up, but before that its "panic! The killer is going all in! Ahhhhhh!!1".

I had a situation were I downed two survivors in front of one of the gates, put them both on their second hook ... and then the others just left ^^ Felt bad, but what ya gonna do? With all the sweat going on this event you can hardly blame them, especially if they wanted to save their invites.

I love us vs them. It’s totally not repetitive and unhealthy for this game.

BTW, with the massive BP gains of sometimes 200k per match, I finally embarked on my journey to P3 my killers. An hour ago I P1 Jin, and I am looking forward to her full, bloody outfit :)

No it wouldnt. If you play any mobility killer you can nulify the distance sprint burst gives a survivor. A range killer can account for speed and distance and hit though a sprint burst. You can choose to immediatly to not take the chase without sinking a large amount of time into a chase where you are at a major disadvantage of effectively playing around 3 health states.

Sprint burst is worse then dead hard because dead hard is a gurrante unless your opponent is using exhaution effects. Which they nerfed/removed from a large number of killers. Really bad long term decision making if they plan on leaving dead hard as is.

chuckle I don't want to come off as snarky or smug, and quite contrary agree to everything you said, but may I ask you to read my comment again, with an open mind? Thanks :)

I would give up any 2 killer perks to have DH removed. It stands alone as the most busted perk in the game.

It's gonna be interesting to see how BHVR changes/nerfs it when the perk overhaul happens. That's why I am not so irritated by it these days, I know its days in its current form are numbered.

Not only that, I would let the survivor community chose. I don't really care, any sacrifice would be worth it to see DH gone, no perk combination could hurt me more, then DH already has. Please, take whatever you want, its more then worth it.

  • You know, eventually I had quite a few fun games, just about at the 10pm mark, when the sweaty SWF all went to bed. I played a lot of Bubba, would hook everyone twice and then just roam around, kick gens and destroy pallets.

Most of the time the survivors wisened up to what I was doing. But no to my last game. We got three flans, the others brought survivor cakes sounded wonderful.

I chose the right gen at the start, got the drop on two survivors, and one beautiful chainsaw swing later I had two DCs. Flappergasted I hooked another one, went ALL the way to the other side of the map, found the last survivor, but that one was too afraid to do anything and the hooked survivor commited suicide on hook.

I couldn't find the last one, closed the hatch, because I didn't want to draw this out, cornered the Mikaela and nodded at her, she nodded back. But by then there was no time left to open the doors and she died to The Entity. The whole game must have been over sub 4min, and the BP bounty was the most pitiful amount.

  • There is quite the difference between 50% of the killer base running BBQ in every build and 50% of the survivor player base running DH in every build. Heck, even the 40%+ of BT is a different case. While BT can be somewhat tedious with the body blocking shennanigans, I think most killers can see why its there, and if people wouldn't constantly use it to bodyblock, wouldn't mind it that much, because it counters tunneling.

But DH... ugh. No real activation requirement like Lithe or Smash Hit or Balanced Landing, and it comes into play when the chase should be over. The DHs that happens after an unhook, where everyone dodges you barging in, I think this DH don`t bother killers that much. But if just feels so cheap and unearned, when someone manages to just slip away when you should have won. And for the killer there is nearly zero wriggle room.

A survivor can mess up, get hooked, get unhooked and reset to try again. If you as the killer mess up two chases, thats practically game over.
