Tell me something first how fast are they dragging them?
A little faster than crawling, so dragging would actually have a purpose.

so tenacity at the cost of wasting two survivors, good. Also, don't dude me if you didn't specify the actual effects, dragging a dead weight body isn't so easy you know...
Do you actually care about Tenacity? Most people just run it in meme builds.

I would just drag my friends across the map for the lulz 🤣
@SilentHillOnDvD said:
No because then teammates will start being stupid and trying to drag you to stupid places
If you would actually read the comments you would see that I replied with this: "Just give the downed survivor the ability to disable the ability to drag them away while being downed...".

@YaiPa said:
that's the same of crawling from what you're describing.
Dude, the speed of dragging a survivor would obviously be faster...

Trolling teammates in solo queue is not an argument? Ok then.
Just give the downed survivor the ability to disable the ability to drag them away while being downed...

I don't want default Meg to drag me to the killer for the lulz sooooo... No, please no.
Sounds like you don't have any real argument to why they shouldn't give them that ability...

It's literally every match for me. The hatch imo is the worst thing ever added to this game, and then with the addition of keys just made it all worse. No matter the logic you give there shouldn't be anything in the game that takes one sides reward for effort away from them. Giving the survivors a free escape when they don't perform their objective is terrible game design.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1792950#Comment_1792950
Hi I am TheButcher, welcome to the forums. I am a game designer. Yet another person who needs to learn their place.
Weird to say that you are a game designer as if it is an argument lol. Just because you are a game designer doesn't mean that you know how every game work.

This would be an interesting idea to help new players. It should work for any perk even DLCs you don't own (BBQ/DS)
Yeah, the devs and their priorities lmao 🙄

Million threads on how/why we could do it. Best one I've seen it just eliminate perk tiers.
Less text clutter, easier to understand, and less grind x3. Win win win.
Yeah, removing perk tiers would be the easiest and most healthy game decision in this game lol

I think there's something wrong with that assumption, considering that the description of that very clearly states it replaces the gas with confetti. I'd also like to note not only the different name, Afterpiece Antidote instead of Tonic, but also the demonstration video made a noise akin to switching items. Afterpiece Antidote appears to just be a new bottle entirely that the clown can throw which will induce a different effect.
Wait did I just see things? I thought I saw the gas shifting in rainbow colours, I am so confused. I 100% saw it, for real! (when I watched the stream while it was live)
-
I'm pretty sure it's not what you think it is. If you take a look at the leaked add-on, you can clearly see that it replaces Afterpiece Antidote bottles with Party Bottles. "Party Bottles", as we saw in the video, the gas was in rainbow colours. That may be the party bottles that was mentioned in the add-on.
-
Report this in the bug section I guess.

I still dont get this. Yall mad about a main mechanic of a game. OOOOOOOFfffffff course there is lots of perks dealing with the main mechanic of the game. Its like saying why is there 23 perks in survivors about auras. Its a main mechanic. Jezzzus. The issue with this game is bugs and server wait times.
Because there are multiple perks for one problem. For example anti-gen tapping perks: Overcharge & Hex: Ruin. WE DONT NEED TWO PERKS FOR ONE PROBLEM! And we have two perks for gen blocking: Thrilling Tremors & Dead Man's Switch. Why can't we just get a new objective?

And guess what, people still sweat on this "horror game" who here actually finds it scary after playing for the longest?
Why do you write horror game in quotes? If you don't think the game is scary anymore, it doesn't remove the fact that the game is a horror game. It also sounds like you think it's weird that you can sweat in a horror game lol.
-
I'm happy about the killer's power itself and the survivor. I think Power Struggle is a cool perk, a mechanic perk = cool perk. But to release a chapter with a perk that has no function and so many bugs with the killer is not acceptable by any means.

No, it's not. That's just how the devs make it out to be;)
It's an asymmetric survival horror, its officially stated as one. Therefore it is.

I’ve seen people say before that Clown should have different types of bottles with different effects. Maybe it’s something like that? That would be kind of cool. Party bottles for confetti, slowdown bottles as usual, and speed bottles so Clown can huff some gas and zip across the map.
I don't think they're just adding a bottle with confetti and nothing more, I think the confetti bottle will do something more.

That's actually pretty neat. Maybe they're finally making the Clown affect the map like how Pig does for example and stuff is made more festive for Clown. Maybe special lockers, chest and other things?
Well either way that's clearly the speed limiter for Clown but cool regardless.
Special lockers, chest and other things?

Is Victor himself getting BP from chasing a survivor?

@Lefrongo said:
It can be way too dark as well, it may benefit survivors but when you're the killer it's kinda tricky figuring out where survivors are or what's moving and what isn't, although that might be any map that plays mind tricks on you when hunting for survivors. If there was a setting to turn up some of the brightness that would help a lot.
Guess what, IT'S A HORROR GAME.

They already did that with coup de grâce ;)
Yeah they pretty much nerfed it to the ground, it would maybe be meta if they would have kept it the way it was and not change it.

Remember Hangman's trick? They did try to make a new perk that's powerful in the PTB, it gave 16m of aura reading around any hook. Yes, it was busted, but then in the live build they went and completely overnerfed it and it's now back in the ever-increasing pile of trash. They got our feedback and went way overboard, and they've done this so many times that I actually want perks to be underpowered in the PTB and on release because that means they at least have a chance of becoming decent later on.
And also reminder that they thought gearhead and coup de grace were too powerful in the PTB and they needed a nerf before they came to live...
Yeah we will never understand these people haha

Yes, currently you see your own scratch marks as if you are the killer, meaning every survivor or killer perk, power or addon having an impact on scratch marks will be recognizable. That includes:
- Distortion, Lithe, Poised removing your scratch marks
- Lightweight making them disappear faster
- Predator tightening the trail
- Legion using frenzy will remove your scratchmarks!
- Spirit using fathers glasses will remove your scratchmarks!
Lithe doesn't remove scratch marks.

New killer - Blair Witch - time manipulation power. Killer can stop and rewind time for the survivor they're engaged in a chase with for a few seconds to try to make a better play, then slap on a cooldown or something.
Gameplay mechanic not a new killer.

Deepwound is kind of gross, but I feel like there should be at least some downside for injured survivors stepping in a trap.
For a snap feature? I think that would hurt more than it would help. Unpredictability in trap placement is key for getting use out of them in higher ranks. A snap feature would reduce that; I don't find myself fighting "the system" in placing his traps.
Since Trapper sucks against a good and high ranked SWF team, he kinda needs a big buff. Honing Stone should honestly be base kit, or as you said they should get the deep wound status effect.

Survivor mechanic: Generator parts
Generator parts will be found in chests and random places around the map. Survivors must install some of these generator parts to complete generators. Different generators will require different parts, and some generators will need more parts to repair than others. Most generators require one part to repair, but some may require 2 or even 3.
In every match, there will be at least 4 generators that require one part, At most two that require 2, and One that requires 3.
Installing a part on a generator that doesn't need it will cause a loud noise notification, but the generator will gain a small amount of progress in return.
I love this idea! It would also make generators a little bit more realistic as well.

I honestly don't know why it has the extra requirement of needing another Survivor to get close to activate. So that'd probably be the first thing. The other thing would probably be that while it is active, it turns your aura yellow for the rest of the Survivors so they know that its on and there's not a rush to get you down. It might also be better if instead of pausing struggle for 34s, if it could pause both hook states for 17s each. Same total time, but also has an added bonus of maybe preventing you from going stage 2.
However... I do think it'll stay kind of niche no matter how you buff it.
Interesting stuff that you said. I personally believe that they won't buff it, I think they will rework the perk.
-
I don't play that game personally, I do however think that you are right about that one.

Let me rephrase I mean that a system like this could od the job of other perks. Bond and empathy can help you know when a survivor is being chased or doing a totem. Perks like technician, visionary and better together lets you know when someone is doing a generator, where to find them and hear them. This system could cause a further decrease in those perks which could also cause a potential increase in the use of meta perks.
Those perks you mentioned aren't even used that often, so how would it hurt having survivors actions revealed to other survivors? SWF has all of that information for free, but not solo queue survivors.

Quick chat would be the worst thing for the game. As stated in the quote, it would be a used for swearing at each other, cursing, racial slurs and in 1 in 100 games something relevant to the game.
I'm against quick chat as well, however the quick chat would 100% be quotes made by the devs and not quotes you can make on your own.

Ok I understand but don't certain perks already do what TAG is describing? Also I'm concerned about it being overpowered, I don't want a system thats on par with swf. (Dispute being a survivor main im concerned with balancing the game for both sides)
I understand that you're concerned with it being OP. But I am 100% that it will not be on a SWF level. They might have to buff weaker killers such as Wraith, Trapper, Pig and others. Also which perks were you thinking of?

I feel the survivors would just use a wheel with phrases to talk to. Just hold a button and use the joystick to select the phrase. That shouldn't be too hard.
Also what is TAGs?
I know how it would work. TAG is a forum member. Look a little bit upwards in the thread.

You said name a game with quick chat where people use it often, I did. The fact that not a lot of people play or its not popular is irrelevant.
It seems like you really don't want a quick-chat. why not?
Because using quick chat will waste survivors time. Why not use TAG's idea?
-
@TAG said:
Some form of expansion of the current Survivor UI (for Survivors only) that lets Survivors have a general idea of what other Survivors are doing. More icons like generator to indicate repairing, totem to indicate cleansing, some other icon to indicate being in a chase, etc. etc.
That is the exact thing that I want. Something that looks similar to the generator indicator.
-

Say one game that has quick chat where players actually use it often in a match.

@HellDescent said:
A communication wheel. With phrases like I'm on a gen , killer is on me, I did a totem, killer is camping etc
Yes, but the question is, how many people would actually use it each game? I think it would be one of those features that everyone has forgot about.

Make BBQ and Kindred baseline
Add UI indicators to the HUD, always a chase icon/doing a gen/healing/number of times hooked
ya know, QOL things you would expect in most games
I think that is the most perfect answer I've ever gotten regarding this subject. I don't get why a lot of people say solo queue survivors shouldn't get those things, as if it would be too powerful. Most games have much UI indicators and information, but for some weird reason, DBD doesn't.

What's said about it? Generators are a core part of the game, it's only natural. Plus all those perks interact with them in a different way, it's not like they are all similar.
Because there are people who have played the game since it launched and all you do in this game is sitting and repairing gens. It's ridiculous how we haven't gotten a new objective for so long (for survivors). Please please please explain to me why we don't need a new objective. What's so fun about sitting and holding a button for half of the game?
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
Solo queue:
Add icons that display what each survivors is doing right now (being chased,repairing a gen,destroying a totem etc.)
Add a different map wide sound effect whenever a dull totem gets cleansed
SWF doesn't need a nerf if we just bring solo queue closer to SWF level and buff killers accordingly if needed
I love both of those ideas. Also, I think I agree, SWF doesn't need a nerf, solo queue just needs a buff.
-
@gibblywibblywoo said:
I would like them to disable Kindred and make it base kit for a weekend. The major imbalance between solo and SWF isn't looping/chase ability. There are some amazing solo players. It's the fact that time optimisation is incredibly easy when you have moment to moment map updates.
How many games as solo have you been on the hook and seen 1 dude being chased while the other 2 run at you from the end of the map wasting valuable time and gen pressure?
Yeah! Kindred would be great to test how it would be like as base kit, using that perk doe makes me sad, I mean it's a wonderful perk as a solo queue player. But having to waste a perk slot for a perk like that is painful.
And to answer your question, I gotta say MANY times. That is one of the reasons why I sometimes run Kindred.

@Aven_Fallen said:
I mean, DBD is quite a simple game. You basically have 3 categories for Perks as Killer - Chasing, Tracking and Slowdown. With 78 Perks in total for Killers it is quite logical that a huge Bunch of them will be Slowdown as well, and even more logical that those will also focus on Gens, considering that Healing and Objectives are the only things which really make sense to slow down.
So nothing which is sad or depressing IMO.
The point of this thread is just for me to express myself saying that we never had to have this many gen related perks (anti-gen tapping, gen slowdown, gen tracking, etc..).
