On this hellsite? Mate, we all have been on tumblr, it left its mark.
But on a serious note, I'd love to see basically everyone getting a rework, mostly in terms of animations. Especially the slowed-down movement when recharging/reloading/etc on a killer is... grating to watch.
True lol. I am confused doe will killers get their animations reworked? I thought they would only update the character models and just animations like healing.
-
Why can't I just get normal responses lmao...

None, because i dont want my killers to be so bugged they look like SIMS
Why would they be bugged?

Where did you hear this news? Is it only for killers?
They've said these things in Q&A's for example, nope for both killer and survivors.

Is someone getting visual reworks?
Is this another Go on Twitter thing?
I'm really tired of having to search other websites for official news.
Yes, their character models are getting reworked early 2021.

Who cares about the animation? Activate skillchecks on them and make it work with lullaby / unnerving! :P
We don't need skillchecks for everything lol.

I think it looks ok.
Besides that,i would be pretty clueless on how to make it look more "realistic"
You could just make it so it looks like they are actually breaking bones.

Now that's sadistic LOL

Did you get your idea from me? That's awesome man! I'm all for this, good work with the idea :)

Wonder if it could have an old church/chapel there as well, with a spire - I like spires!
That would be so cool!
-
@Yords said:
That would be fitting and really cool with mother's dwelling
They COULD add thunderstorm to that map, however it doesn't even make sense with the lore of the place and Huntress.
-
@APoipleTurtle said:
Honestly, I really don't want anything to change about Father Campbell's Chapel, IMO it's already the best map of DbD. Really not looking forward to it inevitably getting the breakable wall treatment.
Maybe they could just add a separate carnival/circus map to the game later instead?
Why would they add a new Clown map when he already has his own map? They probably won't add another Circus/Carnival related killer in the future anyway...
-
@Mandy said:
ohhhhh I would love to have more weather related things in the map, and yes a thunderstorm in a graveyard whilst a bit cliched would be pretty cool
I wonder how a graveyard map would look like and where the generators would be located at lol.

@APoipleTurtle said:
I love it from an aesthetic/atmospheric perspective.
I hate it from a drain-on-game-performance perspective (since the light drizzle on Red Forest already makes my framerate sad).
You must have a low-end pc, don't ya?

@Gerneral_Buckness said:
Yes! Thunderstorm in a GRAVEYARD.
I REALLY want a graveyard map! It would fit the game so much and to have a weather condition like that in a dark map would be AWESOME!

I know almost no one interested acually. I have seen poll asking how much charms are you using, and surprisingly 90% of players don't give a ######### about charms at all.
And about design team. I think I should write "Rift Doll Charm Texturing And Modeling Item For Rewards Design Team" but I cut it.
Everyone who is working for BHVR that is designing things are all in the design team fyi.
-
I'm not even interested in The Rift, however you don't write "Item Design Team" lol, It's just design team haha

The next PTB, unless something changes, will be a mid-chapter PTB. PTBs are now every 1.5 months, new Chapters are every 3 months.
How long until the upcoming mid-chapter PTB exactly? (if you know)

Aw, I absolutely Love it! There are so many gorgeous aesthetics, especially setting-wise in that game! Itโd jus be a bit foggier in DBD. I jus hope we eventually get any map at all for Chapter 18; tho I prefer it be sth original as opposed to an extension of Ormond or other already established realms in the game.
Yeah, I agree. It would feel pretty empty without a new map for 2 new chapters. I have a question, do we have a map in DBD where you can see or hear thunder and lightning strikes?
-
@Xyvielia said:
I envision it would resemble a setting similar to the environment of A Plague Tale: Innocence

W O W ! That would be the most beautiful and awesome map ever if we had a map like that!

Hmm I think it would be like based on the countryside, be nice to see like some sort of cult stuff there, with craft sort of things and maybe a rotten cabin, or maybe that wooden temple with lotsa cult like things there too.
That would be cool! Imagine if we had an extreme hippie killer ๐

I don't think Lery's is going to get reworked again.
I'm guessing Red Forest/Asylum/Swamp for map reworks, saving Coldwind and others for the next Chapter. And then more perk re-balancing as the main attraction. Wouldn't be surprised if there were no major killer reworks.
When do you think the next PTB will be with the next reworked map? It sounded like you said the next PTB wouldn't have the upcoming chapter in it?
-
@Jarol said:
I hope to see the rework of the map of gideon or the lery institute and see that these maps are more terrifying when playing against a ghostface, wraith, pig and the worst of all... myers ninja
Yeah I am excited to see the rework for Lery's, hopefully it will actually look like a proper hospital in the rework!
-
Remember old times when people used to get killed in real life for cheating on someone? Yeah and now people complain about kicking a killer in a video game. You're saying that you can't kick but you can hang somebody up on a meathook? WHY IS THIS WORLD SO SENSITIVE?!?!?!?
-
@Hex_Llama said:
Aw, man. There was a little pocket of time between when I saw the word "twins" and when I saw the monstrosity that is the new killer, where I pictured creepy gothic twins, or a Gemini astrology killer, or something else mysterious and beautiful that I would like to play, and then... it's a shambling peasant woman with a fleshy, carnivorous baby.
I hate it.
IT'S NOT A BABY!

If you wanted to have hazards on maps like that, that could be a cool idea. Some patches of areas on the swamp could be quite deep and slow you and the killer down (slow the survivors slightly more obviously) but there would be a decent pallet at this location. Or you get caught in thorns or something and you're slowed down a tiny bit (I'm talking maybe 5 to 7 percent at most. Nothing crazy but also not insignificant)
You're saying you don't want more RNG in the game and you just came up with an idea WITH RNG?
-
That map is SO boring to play in, that's probably one of the maps that I am most happy about getting reworked visually.
-
@Mooks said:

I am not talking strictly about how to perfectly balance the game. The stumble mechanic would be a reason to actually try to end the chase for the survivor and not play with the killer. Just design-wise I think survivors should be more scared of chases and it should be the goal to eventually end the chase and not prolong it.
100% Agree
-
@Boss said:
Well not to that extreme, but i would like to hear the soft crushing sound of snow under each footstep.
Why not? It's popular in horror games? Why not make chases scarier?
-
@Mooks said:
Falling while running is actually something I could see as some kind of new mechanic for this game, not just for snow. Tripping on roots or other stuff.
this is after all an iconic horror genre trope^^
I actually agree that being able to fall on every type of map would be better, but I thought everybody would be against it lol

Hmmm interresting one let's see
Gearhead
Everytime you hit a Survivor with a basic attack all generators that are being worked are displayed in a yellow aura for 4/5/6 seconds
Simple and effective i feel. Just a good thing to know which gens you need to pressure
Sounds very interesting! I can definitely see more people using Gearhead.

Why would you need to remain neutral. If you believe it's a bad idea describe why because BHVR reads these post you know. Main thing I'm doing is identifying the problems with the perk and trying to simplify them or remove them.
Because I don't want to argue and discuss opinions. I am just here to let you all propose your ideas not discuss my own opinions.
-
@Dustin said:
Here's my proposal with the goal in mind of reducing the convoluted requirements for the perk and making it more straight forward.
Current Gearhead
You've got an ear for well-oiled gears.
After hitting a Survivor 2 times with your Basic Attack, Gearhead activates for 20 / 25 / 30 seconds
Each time a Survivor completes a Good Skill Check while repairing, The Generator will be revealed by a yellow Aura for as long as it is being repaired.
First off let me identify the problems with this perk.
You must hit survivors twice for this perk to activate which I believe is fair however now comes the issue with this perk. The perk activates for 30 seconds after the fact and you could either get amazing or zero value for a perk based on timing. A survivor actually NEEDS to get a skillcheck for this perk to activate and it's either useless or oppressive based on that but usually useless.
What I am going to propose would be an attempt to solve the following
- Give a more simple activation process for the perk
- Reward killers by always giving them some kind of information for using the perk
- Enable counterplay by giving a tell to the survivors
You've got an ear for well-oiled gears.
After putting a Survivor into the Dying State with a basic attack, Gearhead becomes Active.
Once a Survivor starts Repairing a Generator all survivors will receive Skillchecks every 3 seconds while Repairing for the next 20 / 25 / 30 seconds. During this time all Good Skill Checks will reveal The Generator with a yellow Aura for as long as it is being repaired. Skillchecks progressively get faster the longer this perk is active.
Gearhead has a cooldown of 80 seconds.
Alright so you may ask what does this do? It seems to have restrictions like the original but what changed?
- Instead of two basic attacks it's now putting a survivor into the dying state. It simplifies the task and it means you could also stumble upon an injured survivor later in the trial and still get use out of the perk.
- It eliminates RNG of skillchecks from the perk
- It adds a bit of difficulty for survivors repairing generators but makes it obvious the perk is in play. Giving room for counterplay from the survivors. They could not repair the generator, they could hit great skillchecks to counter it knowing it is active or they could bait the killer to the generator by purposely hitting a Good Skillcheck. Alternatively the killer will know the survivor was in the area if they perform a Good Skillcheck. Both sides have plenty of options with this perk.
- This perk potentially has more synergy with other perks like HEX: Huntress Lullaby.
Thoughts?
Since I need to be neutral in this series, I will say that it sounds pretty interesting!
-
@Boss said:
Complete rework.
Gearhead
Survivors who are repairing Generators within your Terror Radius reveal their Aura.
Survivors who stop repairing Generators within your Terror Radius reveal their Aura for 1/2/3 second(s).
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Overhaul it all.
Gearhead
Gearhead activates after a survivor has been working on a generator for 30/25/20 seconds.
When Gearhead is active, the survivor repairing that generator has their aura revealed for the duration of their repairs.
Gearhead deactivates after the generator begins regression or is completed, and has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
Gearhead can only reveal the aura of one survivor at a time.
EDIT: Let me clarify these numbers are no-where near finalised and I haven't considered balance situations with them yet.
Both are very interesting!

I think it is 500 points.
and @AggressiveFTW they havenโt until now because it gave literally zero points. That is now changing and being tested on PTB
Those 500 extra bp isn't worth anything especially if the killer isn't slugging.

Simple. Instead of 10/15/20%, I would make it 20/25/30%.
I don't know why but using Brutal Strength to break pallets and windows and kicking generators is actually so satisfying. The fact that you do it so fast. And the pallet/wall breaking noises are also satisfying. Overall, I rate Brutal Strength a satisfying out of 10.
You can break windows with brutal strength? That's something new ๐
-
@Godot said:
I love Brutal Strength, I have it in almost all of my builds, but if I were forced to change it, I'd simply buff it by making it even stronger. Lmao.
How would you buff it?

Agreed, sometimes they seem to struggle recreating faces of licensed characters. I say sometimes because characters like Lisa, Steve & Nancy actually look pretty good. Cybil's skin, however, just looks plain awful. They really need to stop this trend with dark circles around the eyes... it's ugly asf.
Overall this is probably the worst legendary skin so far. The quality is just appalling.
I wish they would just update the characters models now and not later :/
