So you put this thread in the polls category and you don't create a poll? Makes total sense!

Uh... Yeah, that's what I was saying. It's an insane perk. The only reason people don't run it is because they think it's weak and don't realise that it's only weak if there's only 1 person on the team using it. So imagine if it was basekit, no need to give up a perk slot. The killer is literally forced to kick every pallet in the game lest it be reset. M1 killers and Huntress are immediately nerfed. You cannot leave a pallet up for any reason. If the survivor runs away from the loop, you're screwed.
So you're basically saying that it would be a good idea to have it as basekit?

Because it's a perk with a cool down that's why it's not used frequently.
Most people wouldn't want to waste a perk slot when there are better perks to use if it was a lot more frequently accessible without having to Sacrifice anything of course people with use it to bully
Dude, that's literally what I'm saying... having it as a base mechanic would be much better because people would actually use it and not waste a perk slot for such a weak perk in its current state.

Because its not worth having 4 people using a perk with 120s cooldown to get one Pallet up, bullies usually use a safe build to be sure killer takes a LOOOOONG time killing them, so they aint gonna drop their Head on for this perk since its not safe for them to play with 3 perks for 120s...but give it for free and...
Then why do you argue against having it as a base mechanic? If it had the same cooldown, how would that bully killers? You are literally arguing against yourself lmao
-
@MadLordJack said:
No, it really shouldn't. Killers would never, ever be able to leave a pallet down. You would be forced to break each one, no questions asked, and may the deity or entity of your choosing have mercy on you if you forget to break a god pallet.
Any Means Necessary is a very strong perk when it works. The only downside is that the situations it works in are somehwta rare due to the nature of the game. But if every survivor started running it... I mean, it's better than DS/UB in the sense that it rewards skill instead of a lack thereof. Doesn't change the fact that it would be insanely strong.
You would also use that argument if Any Means Necessary if it was meta and everybody would use it in their builds. For example Huntress would probably lose the whole game if she broke every dropped pallet during a chase, she'd have to mindgame, loop around the pallet in order to get a down.
-
@TheRockstarKnight said:
If it was basekit people would just instabreak (more than they already do) pallets since they'd KNOW you could lift it back up if they leave it.
AMN only ever gets use because nobody uses it. If everyone had it for free it'd be even harder to use.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just don't think it'd really help - except with experienced Survivors against newer Killers, which IMO isn't something that's desperately needed.
Also what would Yui's 3rd perk be?
I agree AMN needs help, major help in fact, but I don't think this is it.
Huntress would probably lose the game if she just broke every dropped pallet used in a chase. We need more interactions in DBD.
-
@ObscurityDragon said:
No it shouldnt because it would make a lot of bullies bully the killer even more and harder
Yet ill give you one secret....you can play any perk you want and dont have to play a meta set of perk to have fun
Playing with underrated perks > any Meta build
If people could use Any Means Necessary as an additional tool used for bullying, they would have used it long ago, but they haven't.

I agree, we need an response regarding this. It seems like silence is the solution for everything in this game :/

There’s an Alessa Gillespie skin. The rarity category doesn’t affect anything.
It's weird that she's not legendary...

Id pay for a pirate killer with a pirate ship map
Same, a pirate theme chapter would be insanely good!
-
It's relevant whether you like or not. You can't have a character who is white on a black person, you just can't. And don't even try to say i'm racist.
-
@Cerebral_Harlot said:
I know its a joke, but I would love Scooby-doo skins. Claudette as Velma, David as Freddy, Kate as Daphnie, and Dwight as Shaggy.
Furthermore for killers. Doctor as Spooky Space Cook, Deathslinger as Captain Cutler with a harpoon gun, Miner Fourty-niner Hilbilly, Black Knight Oni, Green Ghosts Waith, and Harry the Hypnotist Clown.
But Claudette is black and Velma is white?
-
I wondered that aswell, no idea the reason behind it. Really weird anyway.

I was thinking more of like Blackbeard or a Pirate who kills for peoples gold and belongings, and his perks that allow him to protect his possessions( Chests, totems, and so on)
That's a really cool idea!
-
Why would it be a bug when it says in the perk description: "Auras of Pallets, Breakable Walls, and Vaults are revealed to you when within a range of 20 metres."?
-
@Dpooly said:
None, I want the bugs fixed more than any cosmetic. This is a horror/survival game, not a shopping spree at the mall
Why so mad and boring? I want the bugs fixed aswell, but why you gotta act like you're mad? Just because it's a horror and survival game doesn't mean you can't have cosmetics, dummy.

Yeah imagine Jake as Jack Sparrow haha

Because both would require talks with the people who own the IP, as well as the actual actors themselves. It's a tough process, so one at a time.
I know that, but you can still make the "talks" with them two at the same time lol

Everybody knows how bad he looks, but why can't both get redesigned at the same time..

@Seiko300 said:
YES!!!!!!!
I've always felt Dead By Daylight needs more interactive assets in their maps just in general. Beds are a perfect example, and we don't even have to be talking about "beds" we could be talking about X asset that you hide underneath and it changes for every map. They don't even need to be available on every map just some of them, in the same way we only have breakable walls on some maps (although yes, I know their plan is to have them on every map).
In Crotus Prenn Asylum it could be normal beds, in Lery's Memorial Hospital it could be the Hospital Beds, but on say Autohaven Wreckers, Badham Preschool, or Lampkin Lane you could hide underneath the cars.
Alongside this idea I've always thought it would be super cool to have an option for survivors to be able to go prone and be extra stealthy. The same thing as being in the dying state and crawling but instead that was your choice to hide like that. Although maybe you get idleness crows more quickly while prone so you can't abuse it to hold the game hostage or something.
Just in general more tools to be able to hide and be stealthy would be awesome.
Yeah hiding under cars would be neat. Right now the stealth playlist is pretty much ruined, because you can't be stealhy nowadays. So adding stuff like you suggested would bring back stealth!
-
@nancymain said:
wouldn't it be lovely to enter a car on haddonfield and just run the killer over, crashing through the exit gates.
But that wouldn't have anything to do with hiding? I was thinking that the option that you picked would have to do with hiding in general, but maybe not with beds, etc..

Yeah, I was thinking like a creepy Abbey map, with beds you could hide under in the Dormitory of the Abbey.
Wow that would be cool! But don't you think that it would be way too big for a DBD map?
-
@ZephanUnbound said:
Would be nice to see, especially on certain maps.
Think about having like an abandoned little town with houses and in the rooms are like 1 or 2 beds where you can hide under.

Pirates should be in Prehistoric, just saying. Imagine Jake as Captain Jack Sparrow 😂

@Maelstrom10 said:
i deffinately feel this to a degree. maps need more alternatives to pallets and windows in loops. not things that automatically extend chase mind you but make loops/maps more dynamic
breakable walls were a great step in this direction and made a lot of sense. i'd absolutely love to see all old maps reworked to have them in them in few select places.
other things could slow survivors down or alert the killer, like puddles or water. there could even be treacherous things such as "broken windows" which injure/cause broken on a survivor when lept through, but are the same for killer, allowing killers to create dynamic pathing, thats risky for survivors to use.
or perhaps things like weaker or stronger pallets. having pallets that are prethrown at the start of the match even (basically a breakable window rather then a wall) or pallets that stun the killer for longer but are on weaker loops ie tractor pallets/ a lot of the pallets on hawkins lab. pallets that can be kicked faster if there in a safer place.
I agree. Do you also think that traps that survivors can use and interact with in mid-chase can be a good idea?
-
@Snapshot said:

So what you want is that a single survivor should be able to counter the killer, and it should be so that the survivor has to mess up to get downed? Do you even realize the consequences this would have on balance??
Just think for a single moment and you will come to the conclusion that never, EVER should a single survivor be able to be chased by a killer indefinitely, because that would mean a survivor is as strong as the killer, and that in an asymmetrical 4v1?
You can't be serious....
Stick to the thread subject, please.

I think moving objects to play around would be nice, for example barrels which can be dropped and roll through the area and block ways because survivor and killer have to go around them or something like that:

The players need a good timing to cross it, so it can be a way to make distance or make the way shorter for killer...
Or a hatch which open and close every 15 seconds...
Thank you for drawing an example, very nice! I am impressed with the idea.

Dont know about how it would work but i always thought booby traps against the killer would be cool. Think NMOES Original where Nancy went ham on freddy, or if i remember right the chick from You're Next.
Something simple like a trip wire that causes the killer to face plant, make the entire animation take 3 seconds. Face plant and then get up 3 seconds total. Another might be a trick locker. Killer opens it and gets stabbed by a shard. Animation is him/her looking at and shaking hand for 3 seconds. The perks would obviously need a heavy cool down, maybe even only single use.
So thinking through it, 4 survivor perks each allowing a different trap type, and then 1 killer perk that reduces stun times of all those traps in half (maybe it reduces the head on stun too since thats sort of a trap).
I totally agree. That is one of my ideas aswell. Having traps for survivors aswell. Sort of a defense mechanism for survivors against killers.

@Peanits said:
I don't know about more, but if there were more options and fewer pallets and windows to compensate, I wouldn't mind so much.
That said, though, I never really felt like I needed more things to mix up my chases. I sorta' like the simplicity of it; you have pallets and windows. How well you do is less about how many options you have and more about how well you use what you've got. To give an example:
- A bad player will run from pallet to pallet and drop them the second the killer gets close.
- An alright player will run to a pallet and loop it before dropping it.
- A good player will loop that pallet and use a nearby window to save it as long as possible.
- A great player will link together multiple tiles to create even stronger loops and rarely use pallets.
Four completely different playstyles, all with the same two tools. Beyond that, I use perks like Head On or Lithe + Dance With Me to mix things up.
That said though, what sort of things did you have in mind?
Thanks for your reply, it means a lot. But if you had one idea for a new tool what would it be?

You can't have a online game become scary. Everything scary kinda fade out once you play it for more than 20 hours.
And if you play FNAT for more than 20 hours it's the same. Even if YOU won't get scared, others can and most likely will.

@ironiron said:
Running around in circles and then throwing a wooden pallet down does seem kind of simplistic, and survivors call it boring when a killer ignores this pattern. I wish there were a little more acton game style interaction available, or at least horror sequences that can actually scare you. It feels weird to call this a horror game. It's like an action chase game with only one action available. It's still fun, though.
I totally agree, we need more horror in the game, especielly for chases!

Yes: 100%
Survivors need a major update to stuff they can do on the map but more interactables on the maps would be a boon to survivors and killers. It would be a boon to killers because it means we can dillute pallets, not with the intent to nerf survivors but to actually add variety and spice to chases besides "stun and stop" method which dramatically halts and slows down the flow and thrill for both sides. The fact stun and stopping are the two big things in play is why loops are meta.
Survivors need more tools, more offerings and more hiding places and I say this as a killer main all the way through but I would be actually happy to see survivors get more chase tools that do things besides just either stun or put a big block in my way. Things like doors that killers can break through for a very small slow down-and breakingl ine of sight for jukes- or sheets that can obscure a killers vision for a fraction of a second.
There are alot of enviromental stuff that survivors could trigger or activate that would be a hinderance to the killer and not them simply because of how their FOVs work for each side.
100% agree. More stuff to interact with makes the matches more thrilling and exciting.

I would rather have a second objective for survivors to spice up the game than something new for chases which would waste even more of killers time so survivors can rush the gens that would just make thing worse rather than better.
That's why I suggested increasing gen speeds.

Just dropping in ideas lol. I came up with it not more than 5 minutes ago. All we need to do is drop in ideas and it might be a spark to the devs.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1481764#Comment_1481764
Possible. I've gone against a lot of Pyramid heads and I usually drop jungle gym pallets and God pallets early to lock them in and gain massive distance. There is no such thing as wasting pallets. It all comes down to how well you make it count.
But then counterplay against deathslinger is a different issue. He's tougher and much more annoying to counterplay.
I feel that the idea is very unique and I like it, continue with the ideas :)

I like people that argue eachother and make an interesting discussion but I feel like you guys are going slightly off-topic. I'm just saying that because the OP might feel bad because he asked for chase additions and you guys are arguing whether PH power has counterplays or not. Just saying...
I was sitting here and wondered if I would ask you guys to stop talking about PH or not haha

@rd_dex said:
I can name a few thing you got to work with in a chase just from top of my head, you have stuff like Dead Hard, Spine Chill, Resilience, Lithe, Balanced Landing, Quick and Quiet. I don't feel like its a good idea to add any more obstacles as that's what you are refering to because if you are at least a decent survivor your don't need anything more then pallets and windows coupled with perks I mentioned above. Survivors are strong as is if you add more defence tools it would just become downright stupid.
You don't have to make the perks you are naming to work with the new obstacle as you said. But something unique imo would spice the game up a notch. You could increase the gen speeds if it's like that.
-
@Zeus said:
There should be cylinders placed randomly around the map that survivors can knock down to release gas inside. The cold gas inside will slow killer's movement speed by a bit if they try to pass through it and as long as they stay in front of it. Cylinder becomes empty after like 7-10 seconds and it becomes unusable
Not sure how well that would work in mid-chase, I am a bit skeptical about it. But it sure sounds pretty fun to release a gas to slow the killer down. RIP Huntress haha

@[Deleted User] said:
I had a dream about ladders being in the game. No idea how they'd work with killers and how they'd be balanced, but it is something I'd like to see. More verticality would be interesting in this game.
Wow that would definitely be very interesting, very unique as well. I don't know either how it would work, but you could probably get it to work in a way or so.
-
@Голубой said:
Nah. I feel like great survivors can draw out chases and the game already goes by quickly. There's no need to give survivors a chance to extend chases even longer.
But if anything were to be added, I wish there was a way to cuck PH. He has 0 interacction with survivors, as he can just hold his power until the survivor is caught in animation or can be m1'ed.
I totally feel you, maybe you could increase the gen speeds so there could be a possible new mechanic for chases? And yes PH should have a counterplay.
-
I love the outfit that Wraith got, really Ninja style! The Doc outfit is also pretty cool, Hag is also pretty good (hopefully won't look awful in-game).
-
Players who play as Kate Denson usually are decent at looping and won't camp at pallets like Bill's lol.
