I thought dbd was about bullying killers. Most of other weaker killers revolve around survivors making mistakes. Sadako is just following the classic dbd standard formula. she'll go to live, get over 50% kill-rate vs bad survivors while she gets bullied by strong survivors like every other B tier and lower killer gets.

Because bulying has been normalized in dbd since BHVR wont do anything about it,seeing perks like parental guidance feels like they actually endorse it catering to the toxic survivors that just wanna bully a killer all game.

I mean just watch most survivor mains, clickbait titles mocking the killer, running around with a flashlight and never touching a gen.

And people wonder why killers sweat, its either that or get bullied.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Why on Trickster? I want that skin but not on him lol

Who do you want him on .

  • Survivor is easy to pick up but hard to master, being a good survivor is actually hard.

Why do some killers have such a hissyfit sounding term for doing the objective? I'm a killer main.

"Genrushing"? You mean... doing the objective?

    Whats the problem with that....?

The problem is if you play normally or try to play without gen regression perks you just gonna get dumpstered if you dont sweat.

I figured they were referencing the Norse god. Didn’t think of Marvel.

    Yeah,the Norse god I meant.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Loki is great character. If there's any chance of getting him added to the game, it shouldn't be spent on Trickster trash. It would be better on Legion or Wraith.

I didn't even think about that,it'll be crazy good if that was possible.

  • @Advorsus said:

Scourge hooks feel really hit or miss right now. Like I want to use them, but every time I do they spawn in like my last match did on Ormond. Where 3 of them are in a line on the very edge of the map of one side, and the last one is on the complete opposite side on the edge of the map. All of which are useless and just makes the perk useless.

It feels like that weird person you went on a few dates with before that really likes you. It's like, I want to be with you, but I don't want to be with you right now.

Because right now scourge hooks, you're trash.

    They're not trash,just rng based.

They should make it maybe so they cant spawn all next to each other.

Well, not to say I told you so, but I did say MMR would be horrible way back in August.

i wish I had been wrong

Its terrible because it only counts kills and escapes.

  • @xMain said:

Maybe it's just me, but I've seen 6 Blights out of the last 10 games played. Did he get buffed or is it just a huge coincidence? I've never seen him this much before.

Because he's the best killer in the game before Nurse.

  • @Akumakaji said:

Its called MMR hell. You need to push through, no matte what. Down at the bottom of MMR hell all the survivors die on first hook to NOED using Wraith. But you got to endure. Once you won a few games you actually reach the pastures of "normal MMR", where things look much better. And the grass is more green on this side, too. :)

MMR does nothing,as survivors that ar bad at the game can get high mmr just for escaping.

    This.

SBMM encourages these playstyles, there's nothing to discourage them when what you do in the match doesn't matter as long as you escape/kill.

Yep,you can rush gens and hide all game, wait for your teammates to die after looping the killer for 5 gens, just for you to leave them behind and escape, that's what SBMM encourages.

Nurse and Blight are the two best balanced/designed killers in the game lol

Explain to me how they are balanced?

  • Easy, get rid of exhaustion and gen regressing perks, then you'll have a normal game on your hands.

And of boons like coh and noed.

This is one example of how a good Artist cannot be looped. If she realises you're going to fake pallets once you try to pull the bird out, she'll fake it as well.

Yeah, she can just get distance on you when you fake and it changes nothing, you'll still get hit and cant leave or use the loop.

Also bringing a flashlight just in the hopes you go againts an Artist just to have some sort of counterplay is very situational, also if you're in a normal loop, most of the times you cant see the crows to lightburn them and even if you do,by the time you lightburn the crows, she just catches up to you.

  • Twins

They just wanna play it safe for ez money.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Are you one of those who actually believe she is stronger than Nurse?

Also she has counterplay, but you are obviously not interested learning it

Lol,I just said she has no counterplay, not that she's stronger than nurse

  • @Rivyn said:

Just dodge? Her birbs are narrow. Throw the pallet a loop earlier than usual, and just Shift W to the next loop, like Doc. Break line of sight, like Nurse. Run into her birbs when she places them.

    Artist has enough counterplay.

Breaking line of sight does nothing, she can still hit you with the crows through walls.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    ShiftW. There's your counter

    You call that a counter.

Not a fan of how they did her stealth either. As for Pig and Clown they are two of my best killers. I think with some minor tweaks she can be really good but overall I think I can use her and be happy with results. CoH is strong but it don't make or break characters for me.

I watched Coconut video and even Scott Jund responded saying what he did was really addon and map dependent, that goes for any killer, you can turn trapper into a powerhouse using his best addons, same with Wraith, this doesn't mean she isn't bottom tier.

  • @chargernick85 said:

Can't believe I am about to say this but check out Coconut/Dowsey videos of what she is capable of. You got to use your brain a bit more with her but weak she is not. I hate referencing streamers as I prefer to base my opinions off my own play but I'm console and I already know I'm going to like her. Check it out.

Hit and run is a joke in the boon healing meta.

She is no better than a good Clown,Pig,survivors that know how to loop will absolutely destroy her.

She's not even a real stealth killer since you can still see her even demanifested.

  • @Sluzzy said:

I commend the devs for fixing this and it is something that will really making the game more fair. Survivor that abused changing their resolutions to stretch everything so they can basically wallhack the killer at all tiles was never intended and this gave an unfair advantage. You always knew the survivors that abused this because you never could catch them at tiles no matter what. There was a clear difference between a native survivor and a stretched survivor.

Now the stretched will be brought down to everyone else, and they’ll be fewer teams and survivors that peep over walls and extend chases way longer than should have.

Killrates are going to dramatically increase.

They’ll be fewer tournament-like stretched teams in the fog that seem unstoppable. Killers will be winning even more than they were and I think this will give the devs the data they need to see that it is too hard to use what is on the maps (for the majority of survivors). Killers can down too quickly most of the time. Will we return to earlier map designs where we have 2 pallets at every jungle gym tile? The killer meta was already too strong even with this advantage. I think something will definitely need to be done with nerfing the killer meta and buffing maps again now that the stretched users won’t have an advantage to overcome it.

This is one of the Sluzzy posts I actually agree with.

    Except the killer sided troll.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2816486#Comment_2816486

And the abundance of CoH in todays meta is one of the main reasons that you don't see that many Hags around, anymore. Her hit n run and wittling down Survivors style would have worked pre CoH, but now your work can be faster undone then you can deal out the hurt and you will end up like a headless chicken running from survivor to survivor, while they all run circles around you fearlessly, knowing fully well that they got a lot of easy escape mechanisms in place and just need to run in the vague direction of the blue-white totem.

    Boons we're a mistake.Especially coh.

  • BHVR should watch that.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2816440#Comment_2816440

    He's fundamentally the worst.

He encourages Survivors to split up and only the worst of the worst don't. Not only that, he eats a longer stun than NURSE for a non-lethal power. He can't down anyone with his power either, so he has to play as a pure M1 Killer with no stealth or instant down potential.

    Also, CoH exists.

I run enduring on Legion,I literally cannot play him without that perk due to the reasons you stated.

Yeah,I think he's worse than I give him credit for.

  • @Rivyn said:

Not to those that are still here today. I mean that if you were playing DbD on release, only for somebody from the future to show you what DbD is like today, during their time, what would be the general reaction?

    I disagree with Otz.

    I think she's D-tier.

Better than Legion and Console Trickster.

Legion is a weird one for me,Legion has the potential to snowball like crazy, but also get dumpstered if survivors split up and dont adapt to that quick.

I've been playing a lot of Legion lately and for me personally he's mid tier.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2816414#Comment_2816414

oh the lord Otz has said the killer is C-tier? Must be true then

He focuses on condemned as if that's her sole goal to reach, it isn't. He also talks about how everything she does she's not great, the thing is every part of her compliments it self, theres risk in countering her map mobility and she can know where Survivors are for doing so, and her stealth makes it easy to catch Survivors off guard. If a Survivor plays really greedy then she punishes that HEAVILY. And there are some cases where some times being greedy is the correct play. Especially against her.

I have nothing against Otz, but this isn't your argument as to why she's bad, its his

Its also my argument since I agree with him.

Also of all the content creators I watched, all of them seems to say the game thing, she's weak.

  • I would have taken this seriously if this wasn't so survivor biased.

If you dont look at the game from both ways you cant be taken seriously.

Most things you complain about its like saying, take everything that helps killer againts survivor away and make their side so weak I will never have a problem escaping.

Basically, pls make survivor more ez mode, who cares about killer fun anyway.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2816385#Comment_2816385

She is far from a weak killer and is actually pretty decent. Problem is from what I can gather is she has a very unique playstyle and you need to keep a lot of mental notes with her

She has what is probably the best map mobility in the game and theres an added bonus of having pretty good game delay. The game delay comes in the form of Condemned and you're able to have a pretty good idea of how much Condemned a Survivor has if you pay attention to the UI. Static on them means they have a tape and if there's no static they don't have a tape. Its almost always safe to assume that if they have a tape on them for quite some time they are probably pretty close to getting fully Condemned which leads to a kill. Survivors obviously want to avoid this and are most likely gonna have to insert the tape which is always the furthest TV from which they pulled the tape from.

She also has what is possibly the best stealth ability in the game which has literally no cooldown and has a passive phasing similar to Spirit which can definitely throw people off, and theres an indicator showing when it happens on your end meaning you can actually make plays around it.

That video needs more views, its very interesting.

  • @Shroompy said:

so you watch a few youtube clips and judge the killers strength off of that? Sadako literally has nothing to do with these clips, they couldve been playing Wraith, Oni, Demo, etc and it wouldn't of made a single difference

    @Hannacia said:

This is pretty much the same with every killer out there. We are the survivors bully toys.

She's easier to bully because she's weak is what I meant.

I think Wraith,Oni,Demo are all stronger than her, they have mobility and can shut down pallets in less than 5 seconds.

Sure, ofc a killer can bully survivors but in all my games as survivor,I never felt bullied by a killer even when me and my team got stomped.

Weak killers are definetly the ones that deal with the most bulying, because for example, you cant bully a good Oni,Nurse,Blight,Spirit, even Wraith,a good Wraith is actually insane but Sadako,I feel like she has nothing going for her, even if you play good.

Well if don't take this game seriously, you get sh*t on from the opposing side most of the time.

Luckily I managed to dump my MMR down and avoid killing most survivors intentionally (can't do anything against people abandoned on hook or suiciding on their first) and I am spared of most BM while being a friendly crash test dummy killer player.

I made it my goal to make it easier or give fresh breath of air for low skilled survivor but still will see bm for that.

MMR will never work as intented because killer isn't funt to play and I understand why some will intentionally lower their MMR.

  • @LunarWendigo said:

I've been playing killer more and more because a majority of the time it's more fun for me ... however ... I am exhausted from the second chance perks every game lol. And it's most likely because I don't have great perks as killer since I have I think only 3 leveled up so far? So my observance of the map is REALLY limited and I don't have like ANY gen pressure perks currently. (and I've also noticed playing after 8pm is the worst idea for me cause it's ALL try hard swf's that I run into after that time). Plus, as a new killer I am horrible at getting looped/spun/body blocked... sigh... okay maybe it isn't THAT fun all the time. But like everyone else said ... more pressure on the killer and your mistakes make a lot more of a difference vs survivor cause it's just you vs 4 ppl

All I know is thank god for lightborn right now LOL

Playing killer is more exhausting,I get more exhausted playing 1 killer game, than 10 games as survivor.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

If killer is stressing you out, I recommend a role swap. Half the reason my sister and I do not play more survivor is because that is the stressful role to us and why would we? Beyond the daily for rift progress.

I have been playing more and more survivor as I am out of killer challenges to grind for day one p3 Sadako and let me tell you the only thing keeping me from wanting to just stop playing the game entirely is the hype for her. It is dreadful.

I did a role swap,I play killer from time to time,I wish I could play more often but it just isn't fun anymore for me.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this.

Killers were definitely more lethal and gameplay more immersive, but this has given way to an era of super bold survivor play and a state of constant chase.

1-2 chases as survivor is fun, but 8-12 chases as killer kinda gets exhausting after a bit, the level of invested effort is in no way equivalent.

People want 50/50 chance of escape gameplay but the effort to get that is actually 25/100 from a survivor/killer effort ratio.

It can make killer games feel more like a chore than a fun game sometimes and I can see why people are always saying they find killer less fun to play. Its not really harder it just requires a ######### tonne more invested effort to get something out of it.

I'd much rather play immersive against a really lethal killer than bold against a mediocre killer. The latter however seems to be the game's direction, which is a shame.

This,I couldn't agree more, lately all my games as killer feel like a chore, the gen pressure is the biggest factor why it feels like that,I know that if I lose a chase I lose all my pressure, there is no room for error for killer since survivors can punish you 4times for a single mistake.

I would agree, if queue times are taken into consideration. A 10 minute match after a 5 minute queue, 1 - 3 minutes in the lobby, and another minute for loading, there's almost more downtime than playing the game. And if you're the lucky one who gets tunnled out in the first three minutes, then it's even worse. I'd love to play more survivor games, but the queue times are brutal and I don't like sitting there, waiting. Survivor queue times ought to be short like killer queue times, maybe then a short match won't feel like a waste of time.

Frankly, I'm sure 1/2 of my hours in DBD are sitting in queues, lobbies and loading screens.

Yeah, you also take into consideration tunneling, that will get you out of the game in under 5 minutes.

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

Sometimes, I wonder how many people actually want lengthier matches, win or lose.

I went against a pair of streamers a week or so ago. Played Pyramid Head, got 11 hooks and a 3K in a match that went right around 13 minutes -- it was a tense back and forth where all the gens did get done, and I had got the last hooks/cages on the 2nd and 3rd dead survivor when they popped the final gen in my face. I thought it was a really fun match that could have ended in a multiple person escape as easily as it did with the result I got.

One streamer wasn't live, but the other one was, so I ventured there to offer a GG and WP. I was surprised to hear them complaining that the match was "way too long and drawn out", which surprised me. Everyone got really good BP, the match result was in doubt the whole way, and there were plenty of chases and interactions with everyone, but it seemed like they didn't enjoy that. Maybe they wanted a 4-out in 6-7 minutes? It felt like that was the case, which considering that the queue time for them had to be around that length of time (it was a match in the middle of what is usually the longest survivor queues), seems strange to me, but to each their own, I guess.

How often you get games over 10 minutes?

  • @SweetTerror said:

Sadly you have to accept and realize that the 1 in the 4v1 equation is made weak intentionally. If survivors had low odds of escaping every match, then the fun factor for that role would cease to exist. Because of this I've accepted the reality that playing Killer will always be the harder role, I just wish that the game was a bit more fairly balanced. Playing against a SWF is absurdly difficult given the amount of information at the survivors' disposal, especially if you're playing a stealthy killer, and as such I think information perks like what can be had with BBQ should become base kit.

That's not true,it would make them actually learn how to get better at the game and feel satisfying escaping,it shouldn't be easy.

Survivor is easy to pick up but hard to master, its the more fun role, not easier, because being an actual good survivor is hard.

Just wanted to reming everyone of what the devs said regarding the Undying nerf back in the Jan '21 Developer Update:

"We’ve been watching this one closely, and there’s a few things we’d like to address:

    1. Transferring the same Hex multiple times can get out of hand: Hexes are meant to be strong perks that can be destroyed, and having to destroy the same Hex four times can be a bit much."

Yet they are okay with 4 different people being able to keep blessing multiple totems infinitely so that everyone gets free medkits. Not to mention the time wasted trying to pointlessly snuff out a totem knowing it be back up in 20 seconds, on multiple levels.

After the last Q&A I don't expect the devs to tone down CoH any more than what they already announced, so I just hope they realize CoH is killing the game before it's too late.

We have taken your feedback and we decided to give that back, except for survivors :) have a nice day.

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

Honestly old Undying was an issue because solo queue and nothing more 🏃 boons are mostly fine as a mechanic, could do with some slight tweaks like a cooldown before you can re-light a totem but outside of that I don't think they really need a change.

And then there's COH, which needs to be nuked.

    That perk should not exist.

Twins would like to know why they got nerfed because there was 2 people that did well at high mmr.

They got nerfed because survivors complained about it and BHVR always listen to whatever survivors say.

Also if BHVR creates the impression of killers with no antiloop=instantly weak relegated to bottom tier no one will ever bother to play said killers ever.

Also BHVR being survivor biased also hurts the survivor playerbase with entitlement thinking they deserve to have everything on easy mode.

  • @CyberDragoon656 said:

Cause they want to act like the game is ok when it's not.

Because they're survivor mains and enjoy bulying weak killers.

  • Honestly i'm tired of saying this but this kind of stuff just proves BHVR is survivor biased.

The game was very survivor sided at the beginning and BHVR keeps on making the survivor side easier to play while killer side is just pain except you're really good at the game with Nurse or Blight.

TLDR: Playing survivor is always more fun than killer.

And the reason why so many killers tunnel, camp, slug,is because there is no other way to get pressure in a game where BHVR babysits survivors and always bring changes to do so.

The latest coh nerf was an insult to the killers as the perk remained just as strong.

  • Sorry to break it to you but it always has been.

We need barebones infos and ways to communicate with teammates in soloq.

Yeah, it'll definitely be interesting to see how she pans out. Right now my thinking is she's actually more similar to Pig than Wraith in that Pig and Sadako are both kind of like stealth killers who have a built in slow down mechanic. Sadako has better mobility and map presence than Pig but Pig's slowdown ability might be a bit more effective. Either way though I actually enjoy playing Pig so in that respect I'm looking forward to playing Sadako too. 🙂

Sadako stealth is not stealth at all,you know she's coming from miles away.

  • "Yes Pig is a top tier killer and better than Blight"

I recognize that some people are just giving their first impressions, and that's perfectly fine. However, a first impression would be like saying "This killer seems kinda bad/ kinda OP, but I can't be sure yet", not "THIS KILLER IS F TIER FKJSDKJDN"

There are so many strategies, techs, and builds with the killer that are waiting to be discovered. Instantly deciding how good or bad they are isn't a smart thing to be doing.

"But Doritohead, this killer is F tier! (or overpowered) This time it's true, I promise!"

I'm not suggesting that Sadako is either strong or weak. In fact, I don't have any opinion about how strong she is at all, and that's ok. Time will tell if this killer is good or not.

The killer power is not rocket science,it doesn't take weeks to make a general opinion about how weak or strong a killer is.

I think everyone agrees she is on the weaker side and she's not even mid tier, her power is almost useless.
