Abandoning the loop, possibly pre drop and hold that W like against every other antiloop killer
This is absolutely the most boring killer design ever then.
If you're cornered,there is no escape for you because of her zoning powers,if she hits you with a crow before the chase even starts since she can snipe you when on a gen from the other side of the map its hard to last long in a chase.
-
I think its a good thing killers are forced to change their build from the same old meta.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Do you think she is well designed? Fun to play as / VS? Good / meh tier killer?
Yeah,getting zoned out on every loop is fun.
Or getting crow sniped while you're on the gen from the other side of the map.
-
I do feel like there are less and less killers,because playing killer is so frustrating and you feel under so much pressure,because you're on a timer since gen rush is a thing,cant have fun when you're rushed.
-
I see more and more killers do this now,this is definetly something that needs to be adressed.

The problem is that it doesn't have to be one box for every Survivor. It just needs to be one box for one Survivor. If the Killer is feeling grief-y, then anyone whose Trap key is in that box has no chance.
Pig is literally a grief killer because of that 1 addon.

By extra box, do you mean there should be an additional box that removes the trap? Otherwise all an extra box does is make it less likely for the Killer to camp the "correct" box.
With this,I mean if you dont remove the box in the first 3 tries,the 4th one is a guarantee.

Not sure what you are referring to, your post is there.
If you mean this https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307354/dear-behaviour-please-add-1-extra-jigsaw-box-on-the-map-when-facing-pig#latest, I just moved it to the correct section.
Now let's avoid derailing other people's threads, thank you.
Ok,sorry,it just took a while for it to be moved and thought it was just removed.

The shards are rolling out, I didn't get mine yet either:
Why remove my post,are we not allowed to express our thoughts on forum,my post was delete with no warning,nothing?
-
Video tape addon: All Survivors start the Trial with Reverse Bear Traps installed.
You can camp the last jigsaw box,and if you are unlucky and not removing the trap from the first 3 tries,you die.

Yeah that's what I was thinking,if you change the engine the code will be easier to fix.

Killers have been facecamping and tunneling since the beginning of the game. I honestly don't know how the developers haven't fixed such a glaring game design issue (facecamping).
They literally have something in place that already works to prevent facecamping with Pyramid Head's cages. Just expand that same design to hooks. You get hooked and you are randomly spawned on a hook that is generated then disappears once you are unhooked.
That would be such a marvelous change,but like any good change that's been suggested,its all dust in the wind.

@shalo said:
The devs literally encourage teabagging, they want players to be toxic to each other.
Maybe that's what they wanted,to create an evil game.

Honestly this says a lot about the state of the game,a lot of people left,and when real competition will be present,dbd wont die,but a lot more will quit or play a lot less.
-
No one to tell me how wrong I am?
I expected at least a few comments like that,guess we all share the same hidden thoughts when it comes to this game.

I really mean it.
I've honestly never been more involved in a game so much in my life, it feels like its actually alive. Always changing, always evolving, not everything is always the same in each match. This game is kinda perfect for a horror fan like myself.
I mean, you can stalk the streets of Hattonfeild as Michael Myers, creep through the rooms of the Game as the Pig, hack people down as Leatherface, and punish people as Pyramid Head. How many games do you know that let you play as this horror characters? And who knows what might be added next?
I know the game, and the Devs, have been giving some people...difficulties...but what game doesn't? Is the game perfect? No, its got bugs like any other game and some things need adjustment. The Devs aren't perfect either, but they've managed to keep us hooked this far and made it worth it, it all depends on what they have planned for the future.
The only thing i wish is that people would just get along while playing it, i sometimes feel like people are always at each others throats, like winning in this game as Survivor or Killer makes them superior and gives then the right to bring the loser team down. And if any of those toxic community members are reading now, i'm sorry, you're not superior...you won one match on a game...its not that big of a deal...its not like you'll win them all the time, or the Devs will send u a trophy or something like that. Get over yourselves.
Anyway, I am grateful to be part of this game, some things go good for it, and some things go bad, but i'm with it all the way because i believe the game will improve itself over time.
Thanks for reading, i just wanted to get that out. And to the Devs, thank you and please don't forget about us and our concerns. Can't wait for Chapter 22...#SpiderKiller 🐙
Its ok if you like the game,but not holding the devs accountable will not solve anything,it will pretty much prove they dont really have to please their community,because people will play anyway.So kissing *** will do absolutely nothing.
I dont think there is hope for this game and BHVR,once real competition arrives,which is gonna be soon,you will see how all their decisions will backfire,but they already made more money than they ever hoped from dbd.
They put as little effort as possible into this game,but enough to keep the money coming.
The biggest issue for me with the game that made me quit was toxicity,which makes the game so unpleasant,along with all the other bad stuff going in the game,its just not worth it anymore,I had enough of dbd.
-
Yeah well,BHVR is not the first and not the last community,that will always put money first over everything else.
-
Hah,well he got banned eventually,guess BHVR doesn't like being called out,glad I quitted this game.

Who was lying? Send link.
Just because NFT it doesn't immediately mean scam. Sure, there are probably a lot of NFT scammers.
all ntfs are scams
-
@legacycolt said:
Please read carefully. Don’t let this NFT situation ruin the game for you.
As scummy as it is, BHVR is pretty much forced to do what the current license holders of Hellraiser want. The current license holders lose their ownership of Hellraiser at the end of the year and it transfers to a different owner (Park Avenue Entertainment to the original writer Clive Barker on 19 Dec 2021).
What this essentially is, therefore, is PAE using the license they granted to BHVR to force BHVR to give them the models and keys necessary for them to work with a THIRD group called Boss Protocol (of which I can find NOTHING online other than a [.io] website and a Twitter profile created on 22 Sept 2021) to make said NFTs (Boss Protocol seems to be a group that makes NFTs based on IPs).
So, it is pretty ######### that BHVR is wrapped up in this, but it looks to me like they A) have no choice in the matter because it's PAE behind the NFTs and B) need to work on the wording of their licensing contracts in the future so that this doesn't happen again. The spookiest thing about this whole shitshow is what the ######### is Boss Protocol?
The only things I can find on them are their [.io] site, which has nothing but a big advertisement for this whole Hellraiser NFT, and a brand new Twitter page. Digging further, they have the same icon as the similarly named Boss Team Games, which makes games based on IPs fans love, so I would expect it's a spinoff of BTG.
BTG also has a link on their homepage titled "NFT" which leads to BP's [.io] page. The young age of both BTG and BP makes me smell a massive scam there (BTG formed in Dec 2020 and BP in Sept 2021 and I can't find anything on employees/etc) but I am about 80-90% sure that BHVR has only complied with licensing orders under PAE, who are the ones working with BP. That all said, this is still a REALLY ######### practice, and BHVR REALLY needs to look at their licenses in the future to prevent this from happening again, because the vast majority of folks online don't support NFTs or other scams. From what I can see, the NFT is in no way related to the gameplay of DbD and therefore isn't going to break Steam's new rules regarding NFTs and crypto in games. The closest thing to it is that you get (or might get) a Steam key for the DLC.
This is from Twitter. Someone did a very good research.
They're still the ones who agreed to this,the game would have been ok even without the Pinhead license,they could have waited until the current owners lose license and avoid all this drama,please dont be that guy finding excuses for them.
-
The fact they did this just makes them look even worse,its not about not playing Dead by Daylight,its about not playing a BHVR game ever again.

With one on hook, the killer can negate another 60s of chase and bait in more survivors.
Just makes sense in a lot of situations to let the survivors make mistakes over feeding into counter productive long chases.
Exactly,a killer can waste over a minute in a chase and not even get a down.

I disagree about some playstyles being toxic. But things I consider toxic like bm'ing or messages drain me too.
The more I play the game the more easily frustrated I get. That is why I am on a break atm to recharge and come back to it eventually.
But it could be that you get bored too so everything pisses you off.
Just do what I do and play some other games then try again when you feel ready. I have breaks that even hit a year lol. Take as much time as you need, don't force it. If you don't enjoy it, it only gets worse that way.
I enjoy the game best after breaks.
All that draining can affect you in real life,this is why I had to quit and I feel much better now.

I personally don't really see the issue though. Survivors cannot disable your hex any easier. They still have to find your totem, and then cleanse or bless it. Cleansing will destroy the totem making it unusable. Blessing it will take 10 seconds longer.
So survivors can infinitely bless totems and get rid of all your hexes,this will make getting rid of totems overall a bad thing for survivors.
Get ready to be hit with noed every game,good job BHVR.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
What's the change you are suggesting then?
Also, they just announced that a change from ptb to live, blessing a hex totem now takes 24 seconds.
I already made it a suggestion,snuffing out a blessed hex totem will just return the hex to its previous state.
Or made it so you cant bless hex totems in the first place.
If they dont change this,say goodbye to killers using hex perks.
-
Seriously,dont blame MMR because you're getting matched with good survivors,killers.
Blame the game design for being unfun going againts players of the same skill level as you

I think PvP games can often bring out the worst in people, that's why we enabled a chat filter, in an attempt to prevent these things from happening so much. (you can also use the arrows to close chat completely, which I know a lot of players have done).
Unfortunately we have no control about things that happen outside of the game, so messages sent on console chat or even on Steam profiles etc. Those are down to the platform that they're on to manage - and I'm pretty sure that they do take things like this seriously (with regards to death threats here). And that's the same on Twitch, it's down to them to police their platform.
And the word "toxic" gets thrown around so much right now, to me personally I don't think things that happen in game that are within the game rules, are toxic - what becomes toxic to me, is people abusing others in aftergame chat or as mentioned above, other places other than the game.
A lot of bad words can still be used,and if people really wanna say something they find a workaround,using similar words with the same meaning.

Just yesterday I had 2 blatant cheaters in 1 play session. Like... in a time span of 3 hours. With blatant ones I really do mean blatant, as in 5 gens pop in the first minute when 3 ppl are working on the same one. I'm curious if he will get banned, as I took the effort to go through support to give them the Steam ID etc. I bet it will all depend on how much this person got reports on his account in a short time span. I also bet it was useless to take that effort. As the person was Asian, I'm sure he will get another cheap account by tomorrow and do it all over again.
Thanks for doing that,if only more people did it when they encounter such blatant cheaters that have no excuse.

Or they just set their own MMR after they make new account and start playing at the highest possible mmr from game one, in 5 minutes.
They cant do that,pretty sure BHVR detects everyone mmr,even if they could,probably insta ban.

Some complain cause no more ez escapes/kills. Some complain due to increase in hackers. Some complain due to the game being unbalanced, even if your on the same skill you ultimately don't get any kills as killer. Some complain cause they have to focus on the game and can't interact with their viewers. It's kinda hard not to hate it if you stream especially if your a killer.
From what I heard,it takes a while to get at high mmr,so by the time hackers get there,they will probably be banned,that if EAC wasn't so bad at least.
-
@Jejune said:
Well you would have to change totems so that hexed totem can be turned into dull totems. Since killer can lit up 5 totems at the beginning of the game if they choose all hex perks.
Also since you want to make boons like hexes killer would have to spend some time destroying the boon.
They would also have to stop making sound.
I was only referring to boon totems,didn't say anything about hex totems being changed.
-
@Labrac said:
Because this game is super unbalanced when it matches people of equal skill, and that isn't interesting content. Nobody wants to see Mr. Streamer having to camp and tunnel to get a single kill against SWF.
I dont know,to me it seems more interesting to actually have legit opponents that steamroll againts ones that have no chance againts you,where is the fun in that exactly?
-
@Rey_512 said:
Why are we focusing on the streamers? Plenty of non-streamers, including myself, think SBMM was a dumb system to introduce.
Why is BHVR forcing ranked matchmaking on us in a casual game?
Because being matched with survivors and againts killers not close to your skill level is also not that fair.

Absolute worst designed killer? I'd go with nemesis. His zombies and vaccines would be fine, if they could consistently hit people. But his general gameplay is constantly slapping people with his tentacle. It feels very silly, it's not brutal for the nemesis.
I agree,Nemesis is pretty boring to both play as and againts,also he is pretty weak.

Ye, almost half the killers have a garbage, unfun to play with/against design.
Killers that are not listed however have a good to great design, some would need some tweaks though.
That's the problem when a company favors quantity over quality. Releasing a new chapter every 3 months is dumb and force the developers to release something even if they have no cool idea.
Honestly, the only remarkable killers are Blight, Pinhead, Twins, Plague and Pig. I don't say they are strong or weak or anything but they all have an awesome original power design, they all bring something new and offer a different way to play with or against them.
Interesting,a lot of people say Twins is camping,slugging simulator.

That's not really a fix,not all post game chats are toxic,and some of them are wholesome and worth reading,just depriving yourself from reading them at all is not a solution and neither finding excuses for toxicity.

I genuinely do not care for trash talking in video games lmao but I do have problem if you do real life threats and insistent harassment outside the match.

I love how toxic players inevitably blame the people who get ticked off rather than the people being septic buttpipes on the interwebs.
I always try to keep in mind that there are actual people behind those avatars, who may already be having a bad day. I'd rather we all have fun, win or lose, and just exercise a modicum of respect. Because that's how you make a great community, and not scare away new players.
This,if almost in every game you have to deal with this toxic behaviour,its pretty hard to ignore it or not notice it,too much toxicity takes away from the fun.
-
@Firellius said:
Frustration breeds toxicity. If the game was more forgiving to both sides, we'd probably be seeing less toxicity.
I agree so much with you here,I think most of the toxicity comes from the frustrating mecahnics in dbd and how some things that shouldn't be in the game in the first place,are there.

- Ban toxic people. "Toxic" meaning people who do things to purposefully piss off other players.
- Zero tolerance policy for racism, homophobia, and so on. You do/say any of these things once, you a hardware ban.
Yes, this may seem extreme, but it'd definitely cut down on the toxicity.
I think this is a solution as well,I highly doubt toxic players are even punished in the first place,since it would just mean for BHVR to lose players just because they are toxic,because priorities.
