Hold your Purge, get close and unload it into their back. You move at 110 ms when you're holding your puke and a single fully-charged Purge will fully infect them. If they're already fully infected, just chase them normally.

Does one full charge actually fully infect a survivor without add-ons? Because I've never been able to. If even a small bit misses it won't get them infected. I prefer to chase normally and then infect them on the hook anyway unless they're one of the last survivors alive.

  • @Beefmur said:

i was talking about playing plague and getting looped around long walls what do you do to hit the survivors

If you don't have corrupt purge you're an M1 killer so you play it the same way we would with, for example, Wraith (running the tile counter clockwise and denying the fast vault)

If you have corrupt purge you can play it like Huntress, Deathslinger or Demo would. You can give them the fast vault because that best sets up your power for what is basically a free hit. Go round the corner charging up your purge like you would charge a hatchet and then puke on them.

  • Hey man just be thankful he wasn't running the meta. Can't stand playing against speed limiter Bubbas, there's nothing you can do against him. He COMPLETELY counters Z walls with speed limiter, the only defence you had against him in the first place.

So you got lucky it was just a facecamping Bubba.

I've even seen them play with stretched res to make the chainsaw hitbox bigger. He even showed it on stream, he was streaming at 1920x1080.

I play spirit with only heavy metal music playing. The only way.

I can only play her with the sound of a vacuum cleaner going off in the background. Gotta stay in character the entire match, right?

yes! no grass, no crow = gg

even then iron will survivor crouch = guess...

I don't see how it would be so much harder to track survivors on Midwich than other maps as Spirit? Footsteps on stone floors are very noticeable, and it's not like survivors can go anywhere but in a straight line down a corridor. The only map I hate tracking survivors on as Spirit is Lery's because some of those floors are actually bugged and survivors will often produce 0 sound when running across them.

  • @KSzerker said:

I'm glad. He was such a braindead killer with too much map pressure with no meaningful downside. Now he requires some level of thought to use his chainsaw.

Billy still has no meaningful downside to his chainsaw, the overheat is barely an issue. It doesn't require any more thought than it did before. Unless you were referring to his instasaw add-ons, you should still have the same complaints about Billy because barely anything changed in that regard

  • Billy's still fine. He's just bugged to hell right now and his animations and pushed in camera feel like garbage so people aren't playing him. Same with how I theorise people aren't playing Blight because of how god awful his POV currently is but that's getting fixed next week. The other reason people stopped playing him is the removal of insta-saw, which was what made him an actual threat against even SWF teams. Now he's still good, but no longer amazing unless you learned double engravings.

Against a good team of survivors Billy was always just "decent" without add-ons but he was probably the most fair and balanced killer in the game when he wasn't using insta-saw or crack. He still is, but he's now less appealing to play because of his animations and Oni exists (Who also has had a camera bug for nearly a year that still hasn't been fixed lmao)

  • This is PEAK DbD right here. Can't think of a more well-designed killer than The Twins. Proxy camping from across the map and 4-man slugging being the only win condition, just how do you come up with these amazing ideas BHVR :)))))

  • Idk like, 5?

But seriously I think the average bloodweb from lvl 30 to 40 is probably around 30-40k, so multiply that by 10 and you have an approximate answer

  • @Altarf said:

I don't think many killers need major midchapter-type reworks, but a lot could do with minor tweaks. Killersthat need midchapter-type reworks are, in my opinion, Spirit, Freddy, maybe Trickster, Twins and Deathslinger.

As Deathslinger is one of my three mains, in particular, I think they should:

-Increase ADS time to around 0.5 seconds before he can fire. Also increase the volume of his intake of breath when ADS.

-Add a 2.5 second cool-down after lowering the gun, like PH.

-Pressing ctrl with your gun loaded ejects the bullet, unloading it, but increases your speed to 4.6m/s as long as the gun isn't loaded.

-Slightly increase various aspects of his gun - range increased to 20m, durability changed slightly to adjust for this, decreased cool-down and reload times (brown add-on equivalent)

-Rework his add-ons to be actually useful and original. (Looking at you, hellshire iron and literally every ADS add-on)

These changes would give him more map mobility, in exchange for reducing the more irritating parts of going against him. You don't want to make the ADS too telegraphed, just enough so he doesn't zone you just by existing.

Those changes are kinda complicated and would turn him into a weird gimped version of Huntress and would take away his identity and what makes him so fun to play: his fast ADS. I think he can keep the insta-ADS as long as he can't pop someone at near max range with no kind of windup and nothing the survivor had to react to.

Imo his best change would be to give him TF2 Sniper mechanics - the longer you ADS, the faster and longer the range the spear travels. So if you just went for a pop-shot, it would only travel a few meters, like enough to hit someone over an autohaven junk loop if you're both near it. But you'd have to aim in for a little over a second to get the full range and speed and you'd hear a click when the gun reaches full power. And then you'd buff a few of his other stats or something like ADS movement speed or cooldown. Now the ADS add-ons that you think are useless might actually be useful.

  • You wanna make iri tag basekit? Nah, that'd be way too good. He doesn't need any changes at all except his 2 obvious exploits being fixed although I don't know how long it's gonna take until they find a fix for them. Oh and maybe alchemist ring and compound 33, those 2 add-ons are busted. He's a well-designed killer that's fun and hard to play both as and against (Map RNG can sway this pretty heavily in both directions though. Deadzones = you're gonna get hit a lot and there's nothing you can do about it, or if there's a ton of crappy collision between you and the survivor/it's rotten fields, good luck trying to rush to them because it's not gonna happen)

  • @gendoss said:

I'm surprised you guys think Blight is that strong. I personally feel like he's pretty weak.

He's the biggest "f you" to W gamers which is what I love the most about him. Pretty low cooldown on his power, if you leave a loop he bounces towards you and gets basically a free hit on a lot of maps because deadzones are a thing. If he breaks the pallet he can also just rush up and hit you. Long wall gyms and shack are free hits if you rush correctly...etc

Blight's anti-loop is VERY good if you take the time to get used to how he works. There's very little a survivor can do against a really good Blight on a good map.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

People still think oni is good? He is way too reliant on survivor mistakes and high mid tier at best IMO.

Survivor mistakes aren't hard to force if you're a decent killer, and the average game of DbD will have one bad survivor on their team so it's not hard to get started with Oni. Most maps aren't terribly survivor sided anymore and the RNG can be in your favour, and when they do make mistakes you now have access to the strongest power in the entire game and it's a snowball from there.

  • Might as well make an updated list since the Trickster patch comes out in like a week:

    image.png

If the changes we saw are all that Trickster's gonna get when he comes to live he's absolutely gonna be one of the worst killers in the game which is a shame but meh, someone has to be bottom tier right?

  • @Anniehere said:

Seriously, players complain about survivors who run?

So bottom line, we can not do anything to survive.

    This is completely ridiculous.

Yep, just because someone had a negative opinion about a playstyle, that now means that it's illegal to continue using that playstyle because it's not fun to play against.

Please refer to the killer rulebook so we can avoid situations like this in the future. Thank you.

  • Yes people will talk ######### to you no matter how nice you play. Welcome to online videogames.

  • It's so annoying that developers still won't make use of all the features of the current controllers. Huntress and Deathslinger would be so much better on console if they implemented the gyro aiming on the Dualshock and Joycons. Idk if the Xbox Series X controller has gyro aiming or not, the One didn't. Or hell even making 180 degree (Or 90 degree) camera turns with a push of a button, or a proper auto-aim system that actually helps instead of ######### you over.

  • Either Pyramid Head's or Oni's killer POV music, which I haven't heard in a long time because it's been bugged for several months

    https://youtu.be/jmaVUQ0cHCY

I liked it way more on the survivor's end too. I'm a HUGE sucker for loud drums and fast percussion like this, especially for horror music and hearing this while being chased by Oni in the PTB was so cool.

  • Like everyone else said, take a break. It's blatantly obvious that you need to take a break from this game if flashlights have caused you to get that out of control. Think about picking up another hobby or game, or go for walks which is the absolute best way to calm down and start thinking straight again.

  • ...wait a minute you're not Sluzzy :(

  • @ArchFox said:

People calling holding W boring... I'm not really sure what else survs are supposed to do? Holding W is how you run away from killers. It's the designated "run away" button. If there are no pallets or windows, holding W is the only option survs have. Should they just stand still and let the killer down them to avoid being boring?

######### me, people really will whine about anything.

It is boring for the killer unless your name is Blight, Wraith or Billy. Survivors can hold W all they want, in fact it's encouraged because it's a strong strategy, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to say it's a boring playstyle.

You can play however you want there are no rules saying you can't, t-bag, camp and tunnel to your heart's content, but people still have the right to call your playstyle boring and not enjoy playing against you if they didn't.

  • It wasn't urgent enough, so they had to put urgency into the perk to make it more in line with the rest of them. The stats don't lie my friend, the lack of urgency lead to this perk overperforming.

  • Well with that attitude you're never gonna get better at something. How are you gonna improve if you're forbidding yourself to use the thing you wanna improve at because you're afraid of making mistakes? It's inevitable with anything, you're gonna suck for a bit in the beginning but you'll get the hang of it, it's ok to make mistakes.

That being said here's Scott's Oni guide. There's a few minor things you should know Like not holding forward when dashing, how to play the early game etc. It's just a matter of practicing, he's a fairly straightforward and simple killer to play.

    https://youtu.be/KfvciT6nnB8

And if you want Oni streamers Bronx is also pretty good at him and plays him often.

  • ... well they are in the same realm, of course it looks like Mother's Dwelling they're using the same lighting which is what makes the map look so damn boring and lifeless. If it's one realm that needed the facelift imo it was Red Forest. And Haddonfield I guess that map hasn't aged well at all.

  • Just go AFK and make a coffee or clean something, watch videos, do some stretches literally do absolutely anything that isn't being tabbed into DbD you'll be dead by the time you come back and you can get into another game. You don't have to DC. It sucks that this happens but you'll rarely get matches against killers this insecure, it's not like you'll have to sit through the 4 minutes every other game.

They have done this twice first time hallowed blight event then again with the ui

What we dont get is why dont they learn

They're still playing it so extremely safe and relying on data to tell them everything which is why they're not learning. Our feedback from the PTB means literally nothing when all they do is gather data and go from there.

  • They should stay as is. Moris are an offering, they shouldn't be allowed to be brought alongside a killer power, add-ons and 4 perks and give you another significant boost in power. Having them be almost useless aside from dailies and for cosmetic purposes or avoiding DS on death hook (which can be sort of useful) is how it should be.

And yes before you even say it map offerings in their current state are also stupid and should have the opposite effect that they do now (tremendously DECREASE the chance of being sent to X realm, not increase)

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

Correction: They were asked for BUT only for killers to make new beneficial path's through maps for the KILLERS ONLY.

They were not wanted as a way of making new infinite loops until broken which the developers are mainly using them for.

God I had so many thoughts in my head for breakable walls, like one that opens up new entrances into the main buildings or opens shortcuts on maps like gas heaven through the car pile. Basically I thought they were gonna be used as a way to give new shortcuts to killers that may be useful later on in the match, not to recreate temporary old God windows because lmao we still don't know basic map design after 5 years of working on the same videogame.

  • It'll only be a vocal minority who care about keys being useful or not (same as the people who complained about the deserved Mori change) and those people will only whine for a little bit and then get over it and continue playing like the change never happened. If they actually quit because keys get nerfed then they probably didn't like the game and were looking for an excuse to quit anyway.

  • Another point for this chapter: it was the patch that nerfed balanced landing.

So, in other words, it was literally the greatest chapter they've ever released 11/10

  • @Yumyumtasty said:

If you want huntress to have good hitboxes then make her 115% because this is currently the only way to hit survivors who are decent at looping

??? I have never had an issue hitting good survivors as Huntress, and I rarely see any Huntress players struggle against almost any survivor even before dedicated servers when her hatchets were semi-reasonable. You might wanna look at some guides if you're struggling against good survivors, ScottJund's Huntress guide is still relevant.

    https://youtu.be/IQRDijaX5Io

  • DbD is very easy, mechanically speaking, but it's not intuitive. Like learning survivor and killer movement, how the objectives progress, and any killer mechanics are very simple and only require a very basic knowledge of games, but knowing how to play against good players and proper survivor and killer gameplay (the things that aren't clearly explained to the player) is when it can get challenging for some people and you're basically required to watch some guides or streams to know what to do.

  • @Adeloo said:

I don't like it. I don't feel like a good player usually on both sides, so the thought of getting trashtalk coz i'm getting down faster than the streamer or because i don't get any down as killer make me sick and even more insecure.

I kinda wish there was an icon in game that would let everyone know that the game is streamed by at least one player, so i could just dodge the lobby.

You shouldn't let simply the thought of someone trash talking get to you. Because even if they did it, and on stream, they're gonna forget all about it in the next 5 minutes, they won't even remember your username. It's a videogame, you're playing it for fun just like everybody else. There's no reason to be insecure about your gameplay, their trashtalk means nothing.

  • I couldn't care less, I don't play any differently if it's a TTV because they're just playing the game, the same as you and me.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

I'm not really sure why Lightburn is still in the game. It's such an outdated mechanic. Is it so bully SWFs have another weapon against the two Killers it affects?

It's just one of the many things the Devs haven't got round to updating yet, such as FOV tied to perks and not as an option in the menus, Trapper and Myers' powers, exhaustion add-ons, fog offerings, bloodlust etc. It's not there because of SWF groups, no matter how much you want to think the Devs are biased and against you.

  • It's one of his better maps for his low terror radius alone. He gets a ton of free hits because he doesn't have to ready his gun like Huntress has to ready hatchets, which is what makes her awful on that map because they get around corners before you can actually throw the hatchet. You just have to be more ready to essentially pre-fire survivors around corners. It is a really boring map though tbf no matter what killer you get.

  • @Zaytex said:

It is a double standard that's quite rampant in the community and an entitlement that needs to stop.

Survivors can do anything they want, gameplay wise or fun wise, but as a Killer, you're not allowed to tunnel, slug, camp, bring certain killers, etc.

It's why I always play to win, which means tunnelling, camping, or slugging unless the survivors are performing poorly or are playing nice so the 10-12 hooks is a realistic option given to me.

If the survivors rush generators, then the killer has every right to rush kills.

How is it a double standard lol. As survivor you're not allowed to play with friends because that's cheating, don't try and use DS or Unbreakable, don't body-block for your teammates that's not fun and denies a killer a down, don't use dead hard because it corrects mistakes, don't use keys or map offerings, don't save survivors quickly, don't hide from the killer well because that's boring etc.

Oh wait sorry what am I thinking, I should just say "survivor bad!" and move on.

Both sides have equal amounts of entitled BS 'rules' for the other, and both have tactics available to them that aren't fun to go against but have every right to use those tactics to gain an advantage to win.

  • It's worth it if you like her mechanics, and it's not nearly as hard to learn as people say it is. her bugs do need fixing though, they can be really frustrating to deal with.

  • Playing around the speed boost after a hit is literally the only way of actually having a chance in a chase against him, so no that would be a horrid idea. And I don't see why you'd need to make the chain more durable, it's already so forgiving. If anything it needs to be less durable.

  • @Jasix said:

Chains of Execration sounds so pretentious lmao. If it was called that from the beginning we'd think BHVR were trying way too hard. And it doesn't sound catchy either. It's uneven and lame. Chains of Hate just rolls off the tongue, it's a good name for a chapter and fits Deathslinger's character.

    I get why killers DC.

I do not get why survivors DC.

The same reason killers DC: they're having a crap time courtesy of the other side and no longer want to play.

  • @QwQw said:

I feel like the only reason people get addicted to this perk is because the base killer POV is so ######### small.

Basically this. But BHVR still believe 87 degrees is an acceptable FOV in 2021 so lmao we're still not getting an FOV slider in this game.

(And yes I'm going to keep whining about it until the day I die I don't care how futile it is)

(Hell at least meet us halfway, I'd settle for 95 degrees)

  • Seen this idea thrown around a few times and I'm still against it. This would make her very boring to play as because it's now a complete guessing game on both sides and you haven't really fixed the problem.

I still think the only thing you need to do to make Spirit less frustrating to play against is to give the survivors a small hint such as grass moving when she phases through it. It's a better idea to add new things to the power rather than taking things away, because that's boring and now Spirit isn't fun to play as because you've taken more control away from the player.

  • From the time I started playing in the beginning of 2019, the 3 best reworks/nerfs imo were probably Moris, infinite reworks and the balanced landing nerf. All self-explanatory, all hilariously broken and I'm glad they got changed.

On a sidenote could you IMAGINE how broken old BL would be on Midwich and dead dawg?

  • @SleepyWillo said:

And yet just recently another Deathslinger was complaining that survivors could break the chain... Nobody is going to be happy no matter what they do. Best to just spear them in the open...

Honestly we should make it so the spear instantly kills the survivors. Maybe Deathslinger players will finally be happy.

  • Meh if people are that sad that they want to go this much out of their way and kill their visual quality to get an advantage in a stupid party game like DbD I couldn't really care less. It's dumb and essentially cheating but it's whatever to me at this point, it's not something that's ever gonna get fixed because honestly how would you even fix it without a lot of work. Same with Blight's flick exploit.

  • A few minor buffs to EW1 and EW3 would be welcome. I've heard that he should get 110% move speed while in EW1 with no add-ons and I think that'd help quite a lot. Change scratched mirror to decrease your movement speed by 5% or something and it's be a good change.

I also want him to have increased kick speed and attack cooldown while in EW3. Nothing extraordinary just a small buff that makes tier 3 slightly more scary. I don't think he needs anything huge or a rework, it's fine that he's a very simple killer to play.

  • I REALLY wanted to like The Twins, it's a concept I've always wanted in DbD (a minion-based killer, your main power detaches from you etc), but when I and many others figured out the real way you're supposed to be playing them I very quickly lost interest. It's so absurdly boring just proxy camping and slugging, knowing that if I want to try anything else I'll take way too long to set it up and I'll guarantee a loss. And then there's playing against them...I've played against 3 twins in my life and I hope to God that I never see this number increase for as long as I play this game.

The concept is fantastic, their visual design, chase music, sound design are amazing. But the execution of their abilities are all so flawed and badly done that I question how they even got out of the testing phase, let alone made it to live.

  • What, you mean to tell me you DON'T like holding W around 17 God pallets and losing? Sounds like peak DbD to me.

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 63
