"Overly sweaty"? They just want to win what's wrong with that?
Playing to win in DbD is sweaty. Playing for fun is toxic. The people who say they don't wanna play to win get called toxic for playing with friends/killers they enjoy and goofing off. The players who don't want to goof off get called sweaty because they won and beat the other side.
And the cycle repeats itself. And then there's a few people outside of the cycle that just play the game and don't complain about what their opponents or teammates do and those people are cool.

I'll be completely honest, most of the time I use DH it really is just to gain distance so I'm sure that's not the proper way to do it. And as for SB yeah I don't like walking in the match and I have to wait for the killer to get close to me just so I can get that head start.
That is the proper way to use dead hard. It wasn't the intended way by the devs but it is the best way to use the perk.
And if you're waiting and walking with sprint burst while the killer is coming towards you you're not using the perk correctly, and God bless you and every single survivor who wastes so much distance like this because it makes me hate sprint burst less.
-
As long as we're assuming you're not bringing the absolute best add-ons I'd say the most balanced is either Billy or Huntress. I don't really agree with Blight. Against a really good Blight there isn't *much* in the way of fun counterplay or mindgames and it usually boils down to pre-dropping pallets then forcing him to kick them, and if you find yourself running to a deadzone with no pallet in the next 5 seconds then lmao that's a free hit because his power got off cooldown in 6 seconds. It's like there's an illusion of fun counterplay where you think there's something you can do against him when really there wasn't much you could do at all.
I think it's just the abundance of deadzones on most of the maps that sometimes make it annoying to play against Blight. Not the killer itself, but the maps weren't designed with his power in mind (obviously goes both ways, blood lodge, swamps and Ormond are all terrible Blight maps because you can barely use your power on them)

Because you have to memorize tiles, buildings and other map peculiarities, individual survivor behavior patterns, vantage points, muscle memory and more to a very small window to allow a single hit... And if you miss? Well the awesome cooldown will make you lose the chase completely, possibly ending all your map pressure instantaneously.
Bit of an exaggeration. The cooldown isn't that bad, and in a lot of areas you can put the survivors in a situation where they will almost never be able to avoid you. Blinking to corners that a survivor just rounded will cover every option most of the time. Some main buildings are a little rough like the asylum and suffocation pit. And as for survivor patterns there's very little to think about. It's "will you double back or keep running" and you can easily react to both options if you're paying attention.
-
I still don't get it either, I think Nurse is extremely simple. She doesn't play DbD, she ignores almost all mechanics in the game, the only thing you're thinking about is "where is the survivor". Pallets, walls, windows etc. are meaningless to you. With a killer power this ridiculously strong I don't see how playing and winning with Nurse could be considered difficult after a few hours of developing muscle memory (obviously assuming she's bug-free, which probably won't ever happen lmao)
-
Honestly the 2 matches I've been in with cheaters were the most entertaining matches I've had in a long time. So...yeah these people should be banned but honestly some of the cheats I've seen are so damn hilarious that I couldn't care less at this point if I actually see one in my match.
-
Yeah, that perk needs a nerf but there's more problematic perks that still need tweaks. I mean, have you SEEN what déjà vu does? Showing close generator auras to survivors for a short time? Very abusable as a 97-man SWF group with maps there's nothing the killer can do about it.
Don't even get me started on buckle up.
-
The pros would be I could run shadowborn on every killer and have 4 other perks at last.
The cons...don't care, I want to use 4 perks with shadowborn.

Hey thanks man, been looking for attention all day.

Aight.

That second add-on is already good enough and doesn't need a buff. Combine it with lion fang and you'll slug the entire team in 30 seconds. Even on its own and if you're not slugging it's good, the less blood fury you use the better if you're gonna cancel it after a down. I think the crutch is also fine, the speed increase is more than enough to warrant it being a purple imo because let's look at Oni as a whole:
His power is already REALLY good and he doesn't add-ons at all to begin with. If you start making his add-ons more in line with other killer add-ons stats-wise (or giving them multiple strong effects) it'll be too much. It's why his add-ons aren't all that exciting and are there to instead compliment his power instead of massively buff it like other killers. And it's also why topknot is so good and needs a nerf, because it buffs his already strong power way too much.
-
Might be a good Nurse perk, mayyyybe Spirit would be able to use it too, but apart from this I don't see it being a good perk in any build. It does look like a fun perk though.
-
@Chilli_man2400 said:
As a killer main Topknot is the most OP addon on Oni. An Oni with Topknot becomes S-tier with Nurse and spirit. I would nerf the addon from 1.00 secs to 0.25 seconds but to compensate reduce Onis demon dash startup time to 1.50 seconds.
Reduce his overall startup time to compensate for the nerf of an overpowered add-on? TF?! He doesn't need that buff, his dash charge time is fine at 2 seconds. 1.5 seconds at base would be absurd. Everything about Oni is basically perfect apart from topknot and his red add-ons that could do with reworks.
-
Broken. The small amount of counterplay he had in his power, staying around things like L-T walls or small loops, is gone with this add-on because he charges up so fast that the speed decrease when winding up his power is meaningless and you can't play around it. I play a lot of Oni and I still refuse to use topknot and will probably never use it. I don't know how this add-on is still in the game, or is at least a red add-on but whatever.

So, never take any chase?
Edit: I can't stress this enough, this is all I get all day long. No gameplay, no looping, no chases, just all 4 survivors holding W and predropping pallets while their teammates slam gens. This has been my norm for well over a year. If there was a counter, I would know it. I would have, in the very least, in all my hours analysing gameplay from both myself and content creators, know how to magically beat this awful, grating stratagey.
...aren't you a Blight main. His power is a massive middle finger to survivors that hold W. As some other killers that don't have good ranged attacks, instadowns or are Nurse and Spirit you might be struggling but that's more due to maps having terrible mobility options and no good way to cut survivors off.
-
I'll probably play him a little bit, but if I'm probably not gonna play him for long because I could just play Huntress or slinger instead and have a much better time. There is a fun killer there but he needs a few more buffs. He's not a complete atrocity like the Twins, all he needs is a few tweaks.
-
Who? This is the Wraith and Blight chapter isn't it?

If the developers don't wanna fix it give everyone a fov slider us console players can't do it or the j flick so gotta make it even.
They already have a reason for not adding an FOV slider, and it's because they think it'll be too strong for a killer to have an extra 15 degrees of vision on top of 4 perk slots, which is why it's a perk and not an option in the settings. Even though it would have the absolute mildest of effects in terms of killer performance, because stealth wouldn't be affected in a way you could actually tell, it would be the exact same. But whatever, guess I'll keep only using 2 perks until this game is finally brought into the modern age (because BBQ is also basically mandatory if you want the grind to not be impossible to keep up with)

They were good though. They knew all gen spawns they knew how to do gens, and they ran me through all the pallets on the map. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact they messed up so bad they lost with all of what they had. I know people are bad and no matter what they bring they can still lose, but I've never seen a group mess up that bad with that much stuff in 1800 hours. Even the deathsquads I went against when MMR was turned on didn't bring that much stuff, and they almost wiped me up a lot.
Idk how you're trying to wrap your head around it, you know how they messed up. In DbD a single mistake, or an altruistic play in the endgame, can lead to you snowballing into a win, and it wouldn't matter how well they did in the beginning with BNPs and looping. You know this as well as we all do so they obviously did 1 thing that lead to you snowballing the game out at the end which would explain why you all got so many points.
-
Little newsflash for you: some people actually aren't that good at this game, meaning the offerings and items they bring, and their SWF comms don't actually do ######### for them because if you don't know how to play the game you're gonna lose no matter what you do.
Which is why I'm sick of everyone on this forum saying SWF is this massive problem when it actually isn't. It's 4 good survivors on a team that can be a problem, which these obviously weren't
-
I have a G703 and currently have the same issues. Sometimes it'll half my sensitivity, other times it feels like I'm dragging it through mud constantly stopping and starting. Unplugging and plugging back in doesn't fix it, nor does using it wired so I'm not sure what causes it. The only way I can fix it is if I restart the game, and then it's a dice roll if it happens after the first game or not.

@ALostPuppy I was talking about banning the ability to change your mouse settings by using some type of tracking to check everything on your computer for something that ISN'T affecting your files. I never said you couldn't change something in-game. Just that you couldn't ban people for using poll rate changing mouse's since most GAMES including WOW, COD, LOL and others due change the poll rate for more accurate turn rates. It is NOT an exploit nor cheating. It's already been said by a DEV that it wasn't intended, but its NOT cheating nor an exploit since most gaming mouse's allow you to change it anyway. We may differ on opinion but the j-flick doesn't bother me but tell it how it is. It's just something that some people do not like, but calling it CHEATING isn't right. That was my point.
Everyone is finally getting different killers who are rarely seen and throw up arms over something that isn't that strong. Everyone defends Spirit who has 0 tells but the moment a BLIGHT can turn slightly better, we must insta-ban ANYTHING that may make someone play that terrible killer. If you can't beat a BLIGHT because he turns around a corner a little more than come back when you get nothing but Spirits and Nurses like I've been getting for weeks now.
Using a mechanic in an unintended way, or changing settings to achieve unintended results like this IS an exploit. That's like the textbook definition of one, regardless if it's dev-approved or not. You can do it all you want I don't really care, I just don't know why people want to try and convince others that this isn't an exploit when it is.
-
99ing a survivor is literally the only thing he has going for him. I get that it's not very fun getting 99ed and not being able to reveal him because his mechanic is still so buggy (it goes both ways, getting revealed behind walls is stupid as well) but it's the only thing he has that's actually good. At least he has to stalk you to expose you and you're not gonna eat an unavoidable instadown due to your teammates feeding the killer like Myers.
On that note I really hope they try and fix his reveal mechanics soon, there's definitely a fun killer there under all of the bugs.
-
90% of survivors will immediately exit the locker the moment Bubba smashes into it anyway because apparently people are still unaware that his tantrum has an active hitbox in 2021. Tbh I don't really know the timing now since his tantrum is longer the more charges you use.
-
You absolutely could fix it by putting a check in place that limits how much the camera can turn in 1 frame. It might not look nice but you could definitely limit it to a fixed angle, but it would only affect those actually performing the exploit and cheating so I'd be fine with a weird fix in place for it.
And no it's absolutely cheating and not intended. You can't compare this to changing sensitivity in CoD it's literally not the same thing at all.
Unless this is a bait posts in which case you got me, if it's not you're just incorrect about all of this.
-
Hag. Boring, campy playstyle. Completely brain-dead killer that I never want to play again.
And then Twins, who are also a complete abomination that desperately need a full rework.
Every other killer I'll play now and then.

Just keep running instead of giving her the chance to mindgame you.
When you run, then either:
- She's standing still (not phasing) and you gained some distance.
- She's phasing to the other side of the pallet and you gained slightly less distance, depending on the route she takes.
The best case-scenario when you run is that you gain some distance. The worst case-scenario is you gain less distance. Both are positives.
When you engage in the mindgame, you can either vault back or stand still.
If you vault back, then either:
- She was standing still (not phasing) and you get hit.
- She was phasing and you're in the same situation as before, but on opposite sides of the pallet.
If you stand still, then either:
- She was also standing still and you're stuck in the same situation until one of you makes a move.
- She was phasing and you get hit.
The best case-scenario when you engage in the mindgame is that you end up in the same situation as when you started. The worst case-scenario is that you get hit. One is neutral at best, the other is negative.
Don't engage, hold Shift+W.
Sure holding shift + W is a good strategy, but unfortunately this only works if the killer doesn't possess a pair of functioning eyes. And when a killer can move 70% faster than the survivor (minimum) you're not outrunning a Spirit who just saw you run away from the pallet while you saw nothing.
Or she spends 2 seconds breaking the pallet then 5 seconds catching up to you because you're now in an area that doesn't have anything to work with.
But I'm glad people still think it's a viable strategy against her, it gets me a LOT of free hits if I ever play Spirit

???
The way the game plays is exactly the same as it was before the skin store even existed so I mean... nice try I guess? lmao
Shhh that would go against the forum mantra, it's always the survivor's fault and their purchasing of neon Nea hair cosmetics in the store ruining the game, and it's never anything else.
-
Footsteps on Lery's are usually bugged the most often, but apart from that I haven't had any issues tracking footsteps on any surface after being blinded at a pallet etc. I have to drown out the music and concentrate on it but it's still possible with the exception of Blight. His chase music is so unbelievably loud that I can't hear ######### over it apart from injured sounds and notifications and such.
-
Yep, had this issue as well. It's like my sens has been halved sometimes and I have to switch DPI. There were also a few occasions where it felt like I was dragging my mouse through custard and it would move so rigid and slow and just wouldn't respond to my camera movements. Happened against a Deathslinger too, not really the best time to have a completely unresponsive camera tbh.

Wow, you must be really good or really lucky. I've had 3 hatch escapes when they were all dead on hook and I had 100% control over my 3 gen. similar situations happen a lot when they abuse the item when they have done basically nothing all game sometimes
Must be, because everyone on here apparently sees 4-man escapes with keys every single time and they're now resorting to tunnelling them out of the match. Same with these 4-man SWF sweat squads that people face every game, of which I see maybe 1 a month. The times I see keys actually being used on streams etc is if a survivor's dead and the killer's locking down a 3-gen and nothing's happening for over 5 minutes, and at that point the survivors left find the hatch and get out. I don't play around a 3-gen because I find that a really boring playstyle so that probably played a factor in me not seeing much key usage.
-
Deja vu. Sick of survivors running this perk tbh, it's so boring to play against.
-
Pop, BBQ, whispers/Nurse's (or both) and maybe corrupt or discordance. I've said it before and I'll say it again but iron maiden is a garbage perk that should never be run on Huntress because it is 1000% not worth it. If you want a faster reload use the add-on, she's not add-on reliant in the first place. The tracking part of the perk is awful because who in their right mind would jump into lockers against Huntress.
-
Trapper needs an overheat meter tbh.
-
I remember what me and few others said that high MMR will only be Spirit, Nurse and Freddy and the matches won't be fun in the slightest for anybody. And oh look! We were all right.

Her perks are good. As a killer she's ok. Probably the most average killer in the game imo but she's probably one of my favourites. I play her when I don't really wanna think about the game and just chill out. She's a very simple killer and, imo, quite fun.
She also has one of if not the best visual design in the game. Some of her cosmetics and the colour combinations look fantastic. And her weapon looks really cool too.
-
If they make a power that's fun to use I couldn't give less of a damn where the killer's from or what franchise. I just want a new killer that's actually good and fun to play because The Twins was a miss, and it's looking like Trickster's gonna be a hard miss as well.
-
Wait there's Claudette challenges in the new time? I haven't opened that thing in months on principle but is there seriously a Claudette challenge when she's already had a tome dedicated to her? Have they run out of ideas already? Lmao
-
I pay like normal because in all my time playing, I could probably count on one hand the amount of times a survivor has actually escapes with a key, and I've never seen multiple survivors escape via the hatch. Tunnelling a survivor just because they have a key is pathetic.

But this way you can't never end gen rushing
Gen rushing isn't even a thing. Or rather it rarely is a thing. But you've gotta think about this though...
So you want some killers to have worse chase abilities and as a trade-off there are more survivor objectives, am I getting that right? This would be more fun for survivors, but only when you're getting chased. The rest of the time you'd be doing mundane objectives, and holding down a button or hitting a skillcheck or whatever even more than we already do now. The killer can only interact with one person at a time while the rest of the survivors are doing busywork and not having any fun.
And if you make killers less chase-oriented and more objective-oriented that's now more boring for killer players too because the most fun part of this game for the majority of people is the chase, and you'd be checking on objectives etc (the boring part of the game) more than you'd be interacting with the other side (the fun part of the game). There's a reason why Spirit, Deathslinger, Huntress and Blight etc are popular and fun killers and Hag and The Twins aren't.
-
All 4 of those perks are just as broken as BBQ tbh. Offers no counterplay. I think killers should use other perks that are more fun to go against such as fire up, which allows for survivors to have some actual counterplay to the perk by not doing gens.
-
I mean...that's probably the best Spirit build if you replace corrupt/ with Pop. Spirit's a 110 killer. Her power is completely chase-oriented with very few weaknesses so she gets downs very quickly, Pop compliments that by giving you uses fast and often. After like 4 or 5 pops you've probably won the game at that point. It's crazy good iyn killers like Spirit and Deathslinger. As far as add-ons go, Mother-Daughter Ring is hilariously overpowered, and all of her green and purple add-ons are very strong.
-
I'm always slightly weary of Bills. They're almost always very new players, but every once in a while you come across the one Bill that will make you wish you were playing survivor right now.
I don't understand the feelings for Dwight though, I almost never see a bad Dwight. And if I do they're probably not bad to begin with and are just screwing around and could not give less of a ######### about their own safety.
