Survivors will love it. New cosmetics to wear and a garbage killer to run around for 2-3 minutes.
Must be fun for them..
I've played against a few Tricksters now and I can safely say I'd rather play against a ######### Spirit because at least she's somewhat of a threat (I don't know what survivors I'm speaking for here but contrary to popular belief a lot of people play multiplayer games for the challenge and interaction, and Trickster has next to none of either of these things). His counterplay isn't fun it's just run behind things and he can't do anything to you, if he actually hits you well he hurts you for 1/8th of your health state and nothing else happens. It's incredibly boring for everyone involved. What a disaster of a killer.
-
There are many ways to make Trickster playable, and they should start by giving him an actual power because right now he's a 110 killer without a power that's no better than literally chasing them and M1ing.
-
@Bwsted said:
His power is very difficult to balance. You buff it and you risk having old legion. It's not a matter of feedback, but bad design.
He already is old Legion, but somehow even more atrocious at winning games than he was. He's just a disaster overall. I dig the aesthetic but his power needs MAJOR changes. And the feedback we suggested wasn't taken on board and he's still terrible.
Who would've thought the people who've played your game for 5 years have a good idea on what makes a good killer yet they still don't listen

Move your mouse downwards In a tight zigzag , that's how to control the recoil btw.
It sucks, as it's just another bad thing about him
It does go up and to the right so moving the mouse down and to the left slightly would be the way to control it, but it recoils in such an unintuitive way that it's nearly impossible to control properly. It shouldn't even be there in the first place tbh.
God have mercy on console players because I have absolutely no idea how they're gonna control this guy.

So wait im confused... he moves slower while uncloaking but the lunge is the same? Because the lunge always scaled based on how fast he moved while cloaked.
He has a slightly slower uncloak movement speed now, and his lunge speed accelerated for 1 second. It's accelerating from a lower value so the distance gained is now lower...if that makes sense
And unless they reverted the lunge duration there's a bug with his power description because it still says his lunge lasts 1 second.
-
His visual and sound design leave much to be desired (when you fix Billy's animations please for the love of God let us disable his roar in the options PLEASE), but the killer himself is fine. Would like to see some of the add-ons reworked. Instasaw shouldn't come back, but I hate that they ran out of ideas for add-ons, remembered Billy has tinkerer as a teachable and thought "lmao he becomes undetectable" for half of his add-ons. It's really lame. Lopro chains is a very good add-on too so it's weird that a lot of thought was put into a few of the add-ons then they seemed to just not have any good ideas for the rest of them.
-
You don't think Leatherface can do better than Pig, Legion or GhostFace? Imo the instadown alone puts him a tier above those. And you almost never see a Bubba not run bamboozle so windows aren't an issue for him (crowd control's gonna be another perk Leatherface players are probably gonna run to deal with windows) and you can melt through pallets pretty quickly.

Slugging is not tunneling. All ds should do is stop killer from picking you up. You have different perks for slugging and ds should not be one of them. Nothing should stop killer from chasing survivor. That anti momentum part of the perk should go
Well why did you immediately go for the unhooked survivor in the first place? To get free pressure by downing a defenceless survivor before finding other survivors. That survivor now punishes you for trying that if they get to a locker in time. I seriously don't see anything wrong with this interaction, you made a bad call by wanting to slug a survivor off hook and got punished for it when you could've gone for the guy who was unhooking that survivor.
-
Imo it's fine. It's not fun to deal with as killer but it's no game breaking. Survivors having their own chance perks like this is fine imo. I don't see why survivors shouldn't be allowed these "2nd chance perks" just because the killer doesn't have them. As long as it's not actually stupid like pre-nerf DS or current DS (before this upcoming nerf tomorrow) I think it's ok and they're fun to use.

Unfortunately I think two weeks (when you posted the thread. Good thread btw) is too little time for the Devs to fix anything in that regard. If we're lucky maybe we'll see something in the 5th anniversary update.
I'm not sure how they could even fix controller Blight without making Blight with a mouse and keyboard even better than he already is. I love Blight, but it really does suck how bad he is on console compared to what we have on PC. A ton of thought was put into how he works on PC and you can tell, but it seems none of that translated to console very well which is a shame.

Does the new DS deactivates with stuff like Jigsaw boxes, Plague's Fountains, Freddy's wake up action and rescuing from PH's cage? Just curious.
The description doesn't say it does, so I'm gonna assume it doesn't. Otherwise they would've simplified it to something like "interacting with any killer or survivor object"

Who cares if they have no protection if you're gone. You're gone. Walked away how you said. He can touch a gen and progress a game. You can not slug them to stop doing that when you're not here because they denied you slug with a locker
A survivor getting into a locker right after DS is them saying to you, in plain English, "stop ######### tunnelling me". You wanted to try and slug a survivor for free pressure before you go for someone else, and the survivor's gonna punish you for it if they get to a locker. It's as simple as that: don't tunnel.

Really only excited for Yun. She's the first character I've liked enough to Prestige since Yui.
Still really upset over the last 3 killers not getting their own maps. And the devs said in a stream after the Twins came out that it would be unlikely they would get their own maps. It sucks. So much potential gone. If you're not gonna give them their own map, at least give them their own map in an already existing realm. As that won't take as long to create.
They're not gonna make a new map on release but they also haven't ruled out the possibility of making maps related to Blight, Twins, Trickster etc in the future.

Well in reality there aren't that many people who actually care about t-bagging. There's only a small minority who do, and an even smaller minority that care enough that they'll create numerous threads on the forums and Reddit about how much they hate it.

If someone invites you to a party or goes to message you after a match, they're gonna cry at you and complain maybe 95% of the time.
So don't accept any invites.
-
Play against Demo the same way you would play against Huntress, the only difference is his zoning is much better and he can't hit you over small tiles. The way we normally run tiles against the average killer (always going for fast vaults and straight lines) don't work against a good Demo with rat liver, those will be free hits almost all the time. You have to run differently and avoid running in long lines. Shack is basically a death sentence and if you get there you better be prepared to either just throw the pallet right away or take the hit at the window and then use the speed boost to get somewhere like you would against Bubba or Billy. If you're the obsession make him work to get a shred on you. Don't greed normal junk loop pallets. Autohaven cars will be free hits if the Demo is good and knows how to surf off the collision. And...Idk that's about it.
-
??? No? That's not toxic. Nothing you can do in-game to people is toxic. If you go out of your way to insult their appearance, their race, gender etc then ok yeah that's pretty toxic and you're gonna get reported, but if you're playing the game that's never gonna be toxic or reportable.
Can we please, for the love of GOD, stop overusing this word because it's now lost all meaning.

In all honesty, Trickster's base kit felt pretty strong to me. His knives can actually injure and down incredibly quickly while losing less time and distance than either Huntress or Deathslinger in the right circumstances.
If any part of him does still need buffs after the PTB changes happen, I'd say they should look at Main Event. The concept behind a primarily ranged power burst killer is fantastic... but his burst of power was just... eh? Blood Fury, EW3, and Corrupt Purge are all a huge deal when they happen. Main Event just... kinda wasn't. They have made it a bit better though, so we'll see how that turns out.
In "less time" than Huntress or Slinger? Slinger can hit you within seconds of him seeing you, and Huntress can if you're a good Huntress. Trickster will hit you 2 or 3 times by the time Deathslinger hits you once, and that's all he needs to do to injure you, Trickster still needs to hit you more to even injure. I think it would be fine if you kept stacks of laceration on a survivor but you don't, so there's no incentive to pepper multiple survivors with them, which would actually give him a strength over Huntress and Slinger.
Maybe I need to play him more when he comes out but I really don't see it. I play a lot of Deathslinger too and I just don't know why I'd ever play Trickster over him.

Not when it comes to your unintelligent statement of "I paid money for it so I can do whatever I want".
As long as they're not doing anything that's ban-worthy they CAN do whatever they want. There's nothing in the game or otherwise to tell them they can't, if they want to play like an arse they have every right to. You're free to critique the way they play, but you can't tell them how they can and can't play. General rule for like, every multiplayer game in existence.

Not saying they couldn't be but I've never seen a sweaty Sabo squad. And judging from the points they got, not even counting escape points, they probably didn't even do that bad. Doubt they got "rolled" as you said.

XD.
It's more about the fact we all hate swf in higher levels of play, as most either tend to be sweats or bully squads.
And we all love to see them get their asses handed to them.
Maybe we should get a thread going to post those pictures in XD.
Define a "sweat" SWF. Because all that sounds like to me is "I just got bodied and i can't blame myself for the loss, so this team was definitely just sweating". The sweat squads exist but they're not nearly as common as everyone on here believes. The team OP went against weren't sweaty, they were literally all doing Sabo plays and ignoring the objective to try and have fun. Just admit you lose against regular players and it was your fault that you do.
-
I....what? You're not having your personal information shared when you appear on someone's stream, the streamer and their viewers literally don't know a single thing about you, nor do they want to (unless you put your personal information in your username and Steam profile, and if you did that's your own dumb fault). All they know if you play this game, and you played against the streamer they're watching. That's it.
And if you're getting hate mail from viewers....somehow...deal with it the same way you deal with people in-game. That's also something I've never heard happen before. The most I've seen is viewers from a big stream going into a smaller stream and telling them "hey did you know you're playing against [bigger streamer]?!?!!!????!?" Which is super annoying and I wish people stopped doing this.
-
The game just came out so to call it a DbD-anything is stupid. It does look sort of promising though. I like some of the mechanics, playing a spacing game with the survivors and killer and trying to bait each other into attacking is actually really fun. And survivor gameplay actually has several layers to it and a bunch of interesting items and isn't an M1 simulator. Who would've thought that was possible?!
One thing that I despise however is the fact that you get iframes when going through the pot or the vents on the map. And you get it the instant you press the button. That definitely needs to go. But there is definitely a fun game under all the jank, it just needs some more polish and content (and more servers)
-
The word's lost all meaning at this point, it's just people calling the most pathetic things toxic because they can't handle someone pressing the crouch button at them in a videogame.

"forced penance" 🤣
The Broken status is really weak. All four survivors play injured just fine against The Legion, and Forced Penance only applies to one person, not four. Then, to add insult to injury, Forced Penance has a cooldown.
I don't see anywhere in the perk description that states it has a cooldown

TBH, I kinda wish Blight had some mechanic that let him deal with different kinds of short or "hard to bounce off quickly to get to the other side of" loops... maybe some sort of mechanic where the direction you move and your camera's direction affects movement somehow would be nice. The "j-flick" needs to go though, this fixes the problem but in a terrible way.
EDIT: BTW, is this the Xeno you're mentioning? https://youtu.be/K17VJhwvuPI
When he gets the POV fix, you can look down to bounce off small objects like the benches on Ormond. I wonder if it will also work the opposite way where you can look up to avoid colliding with certain objects. I don't think it should be a thing though. Short loops and tight corners like that are literally the only ways you counter him that isn't dropping pallets, so a way to deal with his only weakness (which already exists via jflicking...) wouldn't be a good thing.
-
Kinda agree. A really good Blight can definitely feel like a no-fun zone and all you do is pre-drop a pallet then get hit, but there are so few of them that nobody knows how oppressive he can actually be, ESPECIALLY with add-ons.
Tbh all I want fixed are the exploits because it's now the only ######### thing Blight is known for and I'm getting tired of it being mentioned everywhere and people trying to defend their use of exploits. In fine with Blight being really good when someone's practiced him enough, but when you add in exploits to cover his one weakness which is tight corners and short loops...
-
In what way does it ruin the fun gameplay for killers???? If it's done at the wrong time in the match it's literally free pressure. And there are several perks that help with bodyblocking already: Iron grasp, agitation, forced penance, mad grit, STBFL and the new Trickster perk
-
I still don't understand this. I just play whatever I get given, dodging lobbies because you THINK someone is gonna BM you in a videogame based on the clothes they chose for their character is mind-blowing to me. Same with looking at profiles and judging whether or not to dodge based on the hours so you can get an easier game. DbD is the only multiplayer game I can think of that lets you do that.

i actually thought sluzzy posted this when i saw the title

-
Not a fan of this. Permanently increasing something like lunge distance, movement speed etc would be really bad imo. Good survivor play when in a chase is the ability to judge how far a killer is from a pallet, will a lunge connect through the pallet or can they run and get another loop out of it and be rewarded in that way etc.
This would just throw all that out the window, and judging distance from the killer when going for window vaults etc would be much harder to the point where it wouldn't be worth actually playing the game well so they'll resort to dropping pallets early and holding W, the pinnacle of interactive survivor gameplay.

I've heard a few large-brain individuals on the forum say Spirit should be reacting to you, not the other way around. So try standing still to make the Spirit think that YOU are phasing.

I'm trying to save up bp, so I've been stingy with my Trapper add-ons, but playing like this has to be a form of torture. Being able to carry only one trap at a time is so punishing. Who has fun playing like this?? I just wanted to get better at Trapper, do I need to be a military strategiest to make 5 traps work?
It's not just console. If you wanna play Trapper you absolutely have to use a bag. Without one he's definitely the worst killer in the game. If you're not gonna run a bag there's 0 point to playing him, he's soon going to be the only killer in the game that's unplayable unless you use add-ons for him. The only other killer was Wraith and he's finally getting the buff he deserves next Tuesday.
-
Never thought I'd see the day. Maybe you just need a break from Spirit, playing the same killer will eventually get tiring and you'll have played so many games with that killer than you start going full autopilot which isn't usually fun. Did the same with Myers and I had to stop playing him for a while.
At least you moved on to the true queen of DbD.

So this is the survivors standard for balanced...Demogorgan. The killer with the lowest killrate in the game. Ok.
Stop looking at killrates as the main base for balance for the ######### love of everything that is good in this world. Demo is a good killer, if you think he isn't I urge you to try him some more and learn more about how to use him because you're bad with him.
People write off his portals as being a secondary ability and not useful when they're easily the best part of him. Shockingly, a map-wide teleport ability on a 14 second cooldown is pretty good. If you set up his portals correctly, and bring corrupt to give yourself some extra setup time he has some of the best mobility and map control in the game.

Well it's not really "muscle memory", it's more a case of if you're used to how Blight's mechanics work, like Billy and engravings or charge add-ons when those used to be a thing. Double speed add-ons is very fun to use.

Read the other comment I made on this thread. I don't at all agree that perks should be the only way to counter a killer, but the guy asked for counterplay to the Spirit and this is literally all the somewhat reliable counterplay we have. So no, I'm not gonna say that.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, a perk shouldn't be required to counter a killer, the same way a killer shouldn't be completely countered by a perk.
That's a popular opinion and I fully agree with it, but this is literally the only way to counter a Spirit in a somewhat reliable way: bring perks. If you're not bringing perks you're relying on wildly guessing when she's phasing and where she's phasing to. There's no logic in her counterplay so you bring perks to add some logic to it.

If a serial killer is swinging at you with a giant bladed weapon wouldn't you try and use all the adrenaline and energy you have in you to lunge out of the way? That's what dead hard is trying to be. It doesn't look like a frog leap at all lmao.

Theres no being patient when they have Dead Hard. It’s a guaranteed free get out of jail card. If I didn’t shot then or waited he would have just dead harded.
Unless he was just about to dead hard around a corner (the only way you're using dead hard against slinger) there's no reason for you to not wait for the dead hard or bait it by ADS-cancelling, which will work a lot of the time against the majority of players. Unless you're at long/ close to max range they literally, physically cannot react to a shot, they have to predict it or dead hard around a corner. All you have to do is be patient. It's the same with Huntress.

Oh please, the survivor doesn't need to DH until they hear the shot. Not to mention they're constantly running away and he only has a limited range.
Once again it's on the survivor to mess up the DH. The survivor has to get the timing wrong to get hit. No counterplay but something something Spirit.
At max range, sure you can react to it. But if you can dodge a slinger shot with dead hard when he's at a medium range to you (spear travels at 40m/s, if you're at, say, 8 metres you need to press dead hard in 0.2 seconds after you hear it, not even factoring in the equipment you use, the latency of the server and dead hard's iframes and animation not kicking in until a few fractions of a second after you press the button.)
I haven't seen a single survivor dodge a shot on reaction with dead hard that's not max range in the year he's been out, they were all predictions and the Slinger didn't hesitate before he fired, or they didn't press the key in time because you would need almost superhuman reaction times to successfully do it.

Doesn't matter if he's right up on you when he pops it, which he should in most cases. And that's a pretty minute detail that can easily go unnoticed.
He also moves differently in Tier 2. His knife hand is rigid while his empty hand is open and moves while he walks. He doesn't do that with any other add-on except full Tombstone. It's quite obvious when he has full Tombstone if you know what to look for.

And then they act like they are these grand players after erasing every hit of mine and all getting away.
That was all your fault, Deathslinger cares the least about dead hard out of every killer in the game, just be more patient when shooting next time.

The survivors would just abuse a pallet loop until it were off and dead hard it it’s balanced when they don’t go down automatically and it’s a perk not a addon that causes that
Idk how that would make survivors abuse a pallet loop? Are you new to killer by any chance? And if they recover from exhaustion before you could down them that's the point. You failed to make use of your add-on so they still got to use their exhaustion perk. It shouldn't just permanently remove the ability to use an exhaustion perk in a chase. It's how it used to work before when exhaustion would decrease whole running
These add-ons need updating and they shouldn't permanently disable exhaustion in a chase, it's so brain-dead.
-
If they wanna add exhaustion add-ons they should work like Demo's where it goes away after a certain amount of time without the need to stop running.
For example: while you're intoxicated by Clown's bottles, you are exhausted. Or Huntress hatchets cause exhaustion and the effect wears off after 10 seconds.
-
I play normally. If the key works then whatever, at that point either I've lost or they've lost, I couldn't care less. I don't know if I'm really lucky or what, but I've seen multiple survivors escape via the hatch a whopping 2 times in the 2 and a half years I've been playing this game. I've seen a single survivor use a key maybe less than 10 times so I don't get all the fuss surrounding keys, they rarely ever do anything in my games.
-
1. Ace's teachables are worthless so he can go
2. The Twins are a war crime and their one fun perk got nerfed so...yeah, get out of the game please and thank you
3. All survivor add-ons are fine tbh, but BNPs are probably the one I'd wanna see go
4. I see scalped topknot more than the other dumb add-ons. Almost never see Tombstone piece, iri head, pinky finger etc
5. Please just delete Haddonfield for the love of everything
6. Map offerings needed to be removed years ago
7. Dead hard, because dead hard for distance makes me lose brain cells whenever I see it
8. Mindbreaker because it's OP. Nah, real answer would probably be bamboozle. Hate that brain-dead perk with a passion.
