  • Maybe for you. A lot of us are addicted to this game because of the grind. You stop playing DbD and all that time you spent getting bloodpoints and cosmetics will have gone to waste and you don't want to see your work 'gone'. Why do you think the grind is so obscenely high? Because it's addicting to make progress towards an end goal that's constantly shifting the goalposts backwards with each new DLC (new killer and survivor to get to P3 all perks, 3 new perks to get on every killer and survivor each perk having 3 tiers, new add-ons to grind for...). BHVR knows it's addicting, and they continue to do nothing about it because they know people are addicted.

  • Reduce the overheat by 50% down to 50 charges. The main issue with instasaw was the fact that Billy wasn't on a long cooldown, especially if you ran Thompson's Mix and tuning guide, and not primer bulb. I think if he had much less charges to work with but a fast chainsaw that would be a fine trade-off. Sacrificing extra chainsaw rev time/travel time for faster backrevs. And 50% would be fair, it's a high number so the brown add-on doesn't completely negate the downside.

  • The only reason why a lot of people are still playing this game is because they've already invested so much of their time and effort to levelling characters and collecting skins, so I'd imagine MANY people would quit if they had all that grind taken away from them. Unless there was a way to edit a save file and use it without getting banned on the current patch I'd definitely uninstall. The grind is too much, and BHVR ######### knows it which is the worst part.

  • Whenever someone kills themselves on hook when I'm playing Deathslinger.

I wouldn't want to play against me either lmao.

Also seeing Blights slide off every object known to man is always funny, and I can feel empathetic towards that.

  • I think multiplayer/competitive anxiety happens to a lot of people. I've experienced it in fighting games before but I'm now at a point where I never feel that anxiety anymore. You just have to play a lot and you'll eventually queue for matches and not even be thinking about it. You don't ever have to see what people say to you if you hide the chat, and there isn't a reason to be ashamed of your gameplay or whatever. All the survivors see is an opponent, nothing more. You're just playing a videogame for fun like everyone else.

Killer is fine if you don't care about kills then? Ofc you will care about escape and win. I mean ofc you will not win always and lose too but solo survivors are like easy sacrifices those days. Game is hell for solo and i dont know how devs will fix and i dont know are they care or not

And that's the problem. Why should certain players be robbed of a chance to actually win (escape/kill) and be forced to seek for other ways to have fun in the game. I can't imagine the same with killers: "in most of the games you won't kill anyone, but you have to learn to live with it and find other ways to have fun in the game". That's not how you balance a game and it shouldn't be this way.

Where did I say it was fine? You 3 just missed the point completely and wanted to go straight to an argument but whatever. If you go into solo Q survivor without the intention to win and you focus on practicing chases etc, you'll have a better time than playing purely to win because relying on random people in an online game is always a dice roll. This statement applies to literally every team based multiplayer game on the planet and there's no real way to make it better.

  • Solo queue is fine if you don't care about the outcome of your matches and you play to make your own fun and not to win.

  • I can definitely see why you'd think Blight is boring to play against. Very low cooldown on his power so you're free to use it whenever you want and you can't really use that cooldown to get anywhere safe as a survivor, if he breaks the pallet he's getting basically a free hit because maps have fun and interactive dead zones everywhere. And then on top of that Ruin-Undying-Tinkerer is ######### stupid on him and so are blighted crow+blighted rat, alchemist ring and compound 33. And on top of THAT you have the exploits which are hopefully getting fixed soon.

So Idk, you might change your mind about him when his exploits get fixed and you'll no longer need to play the "Is this guy gonna cheat" 50/50 anymore.

Learning to play as Blight might also help you when playing against him since you'll know what he can and can't do in most situations.

Iron wil is one of the most powerful perks

The thread's about unpopular opinions, not popular ones.

  • Ok you're gonna have to explain why you think they should add ######### lootboxes and a subscription to this game because that sounds completely insane.

  • I'm just happy they're removing spread and greatly reducing recoil. That was the biggest change I wanted. The faster movement speed while throwing and activation is also gonna be nice but he's actually gonna feel fun to play now, the recoil and spread are what make him so infuriating to play because you weren't rewarded for trying to hit someone at a distance.

  • I think some kind of snare item would be cool. Can place them on windows or doorways, when the killer walks through them, it triggers and you see their aura for a few seconds. Or an item that temporarily stops blood or scratch marks for a couple of seconds.

  • I swear I posted in this thread, or it might have been another one. But hell I'll do it again here's my list.

    image.png

Huntress goes in S when her hatchets are actually reasonable. I'd put Blight in S but some of his add-ons are pretty damn busted and the Ruin-Undying-Tinkerer gamer build is a chore to play against. I used to have PHead near the bottom but I don't actually mind his zoning much anymore. What I hate about him are the cages and I really wish hook-based perks worked with them. His chase music gives him a full letter grade too because it absolutely slaps.

    Oh and delete The Twins.

Deathslinger is so low on most people’s lists.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IZTTXXTMA3XG/5bababde-cca8-4dc3-8981-185ff2131672.jpeg

Sorry guys. Don’t hate me. 🤣🤣🤣

Everything about his visual and audio design is top tier and I LOVE playing as him, but man actually playing against the guy is so lame. The only reason why he's not in the bottom tier for me is because I can respect a Deathslinger with a good aim, and the visual and audio design I mentioned bring it up a notch.

  • image.png

When Huntress stops throwing galaxies at me I'll put her in S.

  • Quite a bit actually, killers are getting really tunnel-heavy now so DS is doing its job. It's either immediate tunnel into pick-up or immediately slugged off hook because I don't see BT a lot anymore, so unbreakable is also staying in my build more often now because I'm getting sick of this playstyle.

  • I hate Nurse too but you'll almost never run into a Nurse that you can't win against. Refusing to play against any killer is stupid, just play the game and get your bloodpoints.

If they fixed her visual and audio cues not being so de-synced and buggy I wouldn't mind too much but nope I'm getting hit before the nurse even appears on my screen and she's making blink charge sounds even though she's just walking and that messes up any sliver of counterplay she might have. I hate it so much, I wish they would fix this broken ######### killer already, it's been nearly 1 and a half years.

  • image.png

This would be my list. Clown, Freddy and Hag make my brain turn to mush, I can't even begin to describe how much I hate playing as these three braindead killers. I'm sorry if you enjoy them but I can't like them whatsoever they're so boring and one-dimensional

The ones in C tier are fine,

B Tier killers have their fun moments and almost all of them I would've put in A or S at one point but either bugs or me simply getting tired of them have moved them to B tier (Specifically Billy feeling like crap to play right now, and I grew tired of Huntress, Myers and Spirit.)

A Tier are pretty fun. Deathslinger replaced Huntress for me, I've always enjoyed Plague for some reason, and Trickster is a fun ranged killer despite being really bad.

And S tier is where the real killers are. Blight and Oni are very simple to understand why they're fun: They go fast. Demo's gameplay is really simple and enjoyable and I never get bored of him, and Wraith's new buff (and hopefully upcoming bugfix where they make his lunge better) has made me like the killer again.

dying light gets nerfed in months.

    DS gets nerfed in years.

    Moris get nerfed

    keys ?????????????????

So because BHVR nerfed killer stuff you think you're being treated as a 2nd class player and below everyone else just because you play killer? Jesus Christ...

  • If it wasn't completely RNG and over 95% of all survivor and killer perks weren't literal trash I'd be fine with it. But sadly...it's entirely RNG and over 95% of all perks are trash. Plus you have to get these perks 3 times to get them out of the way, increasing in price everytime you unlock the next tier.

    It's an awful system

  • That would be enough to make anyone uninstall damn.

  • Honestly I kinda miss the modes (I don't miss treatment mode facecamping though). That little bit of extra execution required for Doctor to deny loops was what made him fun for me. Now that's gone and I don't really find him fun anymore, I find him way too simple and easy now. Shame.

  • How dare someone play the other role in a videogame that they paid for! The AUDACITY of these streamers.

Is Home Sweet Home any good? I've been hearing about it more and more lately and don't know if I should give it a shot or not.

Watch some gameplay and see for yourself man. I personally find it fun. Whether that's because it's actually good or simply be sure it's something actually different to DbD I don't know yet. It's a little rough around the edges too. I enjoy the actual fighting between the survivor and killer though, probably my favourite part of the game because it turns into this footsies/spacing game that can be pretty fun, and it's gonna be the biggest indicator of someone's actual skill because you can definitely get really good at it. It's just that nobody actually is good at these mindgames yet, at least the people I've run into aren't.

  • Announcement from the Home Sweet Home: Survive team Due to encountering a problematic bug, our team will need some time to fix this issue. Therefore our team is required to close our servers for an additional 24 hours. We will be ready to compensate for any issues this may have caused. Our team would like to extend our sincere apology for the problems that have arisen. We hope for your understanding.

Perhaps this will give you the answer.

  • Kindred/Balanced Landing/Decisive Strike/Better Together. Ill drop better together for autodidact or prove thyself if I'm SWF. Even in SWF I'll usually keep kindred on because me and my friends usually can't be arsed making callouts every 4 seconds because that's boring

  • Never said it was impossible, just that it isn't fun. Because it isn't. At all. Overheat did nothing except make him tedious, didn't even make him weaker, just more tedious, especially with engravings.

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

didnt almol say itll be 2 months before they even consider it

Something about needing more than a month to have substantial data to look at before they consider buffs...I wish he was just joking about this but he isn't.

  • Whoa now let's not bring up the forbidden meta.

  • You mean to tell me you don't like playing against one of the most broken add-on combinations in the game? On one of the most scuffed and buggy killers in the game? Sounds like a blast to me.

  • @Profezia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2081809#Comment_2081809

his engravings were heavily nerfed though?

I don't remember if they buffed them/returned to old numbers.

They reverted the engravings change because even BHVR knew that was absurd. They're even harder to use now though, since the overheat means you get a total of 2 chainsaw attempts before you have to wait for your overheat to cool down. Really fun.

  • Yep this isn't news to anyone. The ways you made up for his lack of a significant chase power was with insta-saw if you were bad and double engravings if you were good. Addon-less was always average. That hasn't changed either, all these changes did was make him a little more tedious.

  • Maps like Haddonfield and perks like object make me question why and how there are real people on this Earth that take this videogame seriously and compete in tournaments.

  • @Mr_K said:

    That's sad

Well he is a sad killer main so...

  • Brain-dead perk imo. All this perk is saying is "I don't wanna learn to run tiles, so I'll press space at the window and now you have to drop the pallet lmao". Plus every single Bubba and Billy player left run it, which were two of my favourite killers to play against, but bamboozle on any killer is just a snoozefest because every bamboozle player and interaction are the same. It's not too strong or anything, it's just boring.

  • @Phasmamain said:

When this game gets really competitive it will probably die tbh

It's how every other asymmetrical game died so yeah when DbD gets too overrun with sweats it's gonna drive more people away. Still hasn't happened yet though.

  • Add in some way of counting the totems and NOED would be fine. Now the only people who complain about NOED are the ones that didn't counter it, just like how the only remaining people who complain about DS are still tunnelling and getting hit with it. I remember a really good idea someone had, where there would be 5 lit candles around the basement hooks, everytime a totem gets cleansed, a candle would go out. It's ideas like these that make me wish BHVR took suggestions from the community but nope.

  • If I t-bag she can quickly down me so I can get to the next match faster, I see this as a win either way.

  • Well we all know competitive DbD is a complete joke and probably won't ever get to a point where it isn't one, all these clips being all the proof we need.

  • @LynnMoon said:

    For me Trickster honestly.

Why? Because he's the most 'normal'. Just a 'normal' human that loves murder. He's not a monster or some 'super human'. And that scares me more than any monster, creature, or super human could.

Not even the people that love him (his fans) are safe.

Would have to agree with this. He could just be anyone you see on the street which makes it worse, and the dude is just a complete ######### psycho. There aren't many, if any, killers in DbD that are as evil and psychopathic as he is except Freddy I guess.

Guys, we all know that Felix's the best.

I think Felix earns the "Best default cosmetic" award for sure. That suit and hair combo is godlike.

  • Like literally everything you can do to modify files like framerate, custom icons etc. You can get banned for it if EAC picks it up, but nobody has been banned yet. In other words, you'll be fine.

  • Technically yes through filters and PC settings. I believe AMD has a similar thing to Nvidia filters so just use those and up the brightness of the game. Oh and as other people said you should definitely play on low. Ultra has wayyyy too many shadows and ambient occlusion, low disables most of that.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

    I think Red Stain is

    A) A great band name

    B) A good trade off considering that Killers get scratch marks. Killers can track movement from a distance so long as they are keen enough to see it, and narrow down location from there. Survivors only get to know where the Killer is when they are close by, letting them know what the Killer currently sees. It's basically an inverted version of the scratch marks. Killers can play around with their Red Stain to mindgame Survivors, and Survivors CAN use their scratch marks to throw off the Killer. It's a great balance, each with their trade offs. I see no issue in it.

As for Bloodlust, I wouldn't mind seeing ranks 2 and 3 go, but I think rank 1 should stick around. I don't think we will see some of the weaker Killers ever really get buffed the way many people would like, and they benefit greatly from Bloodlust 1. Many lower tier Killers would basically fall off entirely without Bloodlust, because their powers don't really make up for the loss in speed they would suffer during chase. Yes, they could be reworked to the point where Bloodlust doesn't need to be a thing anymore, but I just don't see that kind of thing happening.

Bloodlust 2 and 3 aren't the issues with bloodlust, bloodlust 1 is because of how quickly you get it. If you wanna keep bloodlust, tier 1 should kick in at the same time tier 2 does now, or somewhere in between, and survivors should get an effect or visual cue for when bloodlust triggers, like the killer suddenly gets a red effect that shines on them for a second.

No excuses for not fixing ANYTHING of the caliber of such exploit.

BHVR can't even fix slugged survivors not making sound after 5 years, do you really think they'll have a fix for stretched res anytime in the foreseeable future?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070982#Comment_2070982

    Shred:

    • So easy to just flick left or right and completely avoid it
    • Tap E to outplay

    Teleport

    • Can be destroyed easily and taken away. You then need to walk all the way over the map to set it up again

    Stealth

    • Oblivious only lasts a short while
    • Demo has BIG clomping footsteps so survivors can hear him anyway

Then there's just the general counterplay that comes from being a basic killer which is pallets and windows stop him cold. Also he roars all the time letting survivors know what he's doing and when he's in chase.

Now compare that to the average counterplay that survivors have at loops, or the counterplay that survivor meta perks have like DS, BT, DH, SB, Unbreakable etc - i.e. little to none.

It's very easy for survivors to make Demogorgan their "bad word" because he has so much counterplay and by comparison they have so little.

If survivors are avoiding shreds you're not using his shred correctly. It's like Pyramid Head, you zone survivors and only let it rip when you have an almost guaranteed hit except you can't go through pallets. There's no dodging or mindgaming Demo shreds if you're actually running tiles properly as him which, if you're running them the same way as a standard M1 killer you're already doing it wrong.

  • Yep, can't play Wraith or Blight with my favourite build anymore it sucks, had to swap it for brutal strength :(

  • @loopsahoy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2077387#Comment_2077387

Hes still not strong. He could use some more basekit.

He really doesn't. The movement speed alone took him from "bad" to "good". Pre-buff, with windstorm Wraith became a good killer, without it he was atrocious. Now he has that at base he has an extra add-on slot open which is huge.

  • The Wraith uncloak speed has been confirmed by a dev to be a bug. It's not supposed to feel like that. And I don't think he needs to be invisible while uncloaking, there's really no need for it, it would just make his clappers even more annoying for survivors to deal with.

  • They're not fun to play that's why. It's 'play like an arse or lose' with them. And they're VERY good with a campy and slugging playstyle, something that a lot of people hate playing as. It's why Hag isn't popular either, because she doesn't chase often. With Twins you spend half the match not chasing survivors (Victor doesn't count, he literally just runs up to people and hits them and there's nothing you can do to stop it because lmao 150% speed killer coming through with a 750% speed lunge very interactive)

1 … 8 9 10 11 12 … 63
