BHVR officially confirmed which perks are being reworked on twitter. Here's my thoughts about what will happen to them some of these. They may be right or wrong. This is just to start discussion around the future of the perks. Tinkerer - (nerf) - undetectable only activates the first time each generator reaches 70% BBQ - (buff) - stackable bloodpoint99 comments 5,831 views last activity

Aura perks are super common nowadays. BBQ, Darkness Revealed, Floods of Rage, Nurse's Calling, Undying and Lethal Pursuer are all pretty widely used. The main issue that Distortion has always had is that it doesn't protect teammates during Co-op action. If I'm working on a generator with another survivor or healing another survivor, it doesn't help me to be unseen because the Killer can see the10 comments 171 views last activity

The only "challenge" for these is not sandbagging your team. what the heck How masochistic do you think we are?16 comments 311 views last activity

It's an anti-tunnel perk meant to compete with BORROWED TIME. 7% Haste, hiding scratch marks and blood pools isn't gonna cut it. 150% haste, hiding scratch marks, grunts of pain and pools of blood. Now that might compete with Borrowed Time. But even then it'd still probably be tough competition between them. Some perks really need to be cranked up to the max to be useful idk why the Devs14 comments 141 views last activity

It took a little bit for Survivors to realize the counterplay to Legion frenzy... but now that they have its all over. If you're the fourth Survivor in a Frenzy chain, camp a pallet religiously. Even if Legion manages to get the hit through the pallet, you'll land the stun and prevent the chain from continuing. No skill involved. Legion cannot continue a chain if a Survivors camps a pallet for14 comments 231 views last activity

Legion has always had two main problems since their original rework back in 2020: Chaining hits is map specific and on top of that Survivors have to play into you. A good team can easily split up or body block once they're injured to ruin your chances at chaining Frenzy. Feral Frenzy is a mostly non-lethal power that leaves Legion with traditional 115 looping for most of their downs. Legi20 comments 361 views last activity

As an experienced player, I generally know the landmarks of the maps with RNG and I have the static maps almost completely memorized. I don't have all the pallet spawns and totem spawns memorized because some of them are really rare, but generally I know my way around. How well would you guys do if you had to rely on your memory for the map layout?21 comments 181 views last activity

Circle of Healing cannot be balanced in its current state because it's too efficient for one perk slot to provide self healing to the whole team. The issue isn't the Boon mechanic. All the other Boons are balanced or underpowered. In fact, I think that boons could have their range increased back to 28 meters once COH is taken care of. Circle of Healing should have self healing removed, boost51 comments 801 views last activity

Ruin, Undying, Dead Man's Switch, Deadlock, Pain Resonance, No Way Out, Corrupt and Jolt are all viable right now depending on the Killer and the build. We probably have the most variety in the Killer perk meta in years right now. More people should acknowledge this because its pretty rare that the Devs actually balance perks so there's competition between them.61 comments 751 views last activity

What if Circle of Healing was buffed back to 100% heal boost, BUT its self-healing stopped at 50% of the heal and the auras of all teammates were shown to help finish the heal. Makes the perk more interactive on both sides and less "free"19 comments 281 views last activity

A 2% haste status is basically just putting the haste icon on your screen for decorative purposes. I legitimately struggle to see a scenario where this Boon is worth using by itself. All other similar Survivor Haste perks are 7% haste (Blood Pact, Guardian, Hope and Breakout). If the Devs were super worried about Haste stacking they could just code it out so only one Haste perk can be in effec8 comments 421 views last activity

Let Killers snuff Hexes. Doing so will randomly spawn it onto any dull totem on the map. Great for fixing bad spawns and the Killer can move their totem if its clear the Survivors know where it is.6 comments 121 views last activity

Perks like Decisive Strike, Dead Hard and Borrowed Time really aren't that good outside of a SWF. Survivors should really focus on consistent value in solo play not gamble on high risk perks that can go entire games without being used. If your team doesn't know you have Borrowed Time, they won't necessarily play around it. They might "steal" saves that37 comments 901 views last activity

Chase music now plays in Frenzy. This nerf makes it much harder to hear Survivors for Legion players that use their power early on in chase and can't rely on scratch marks. The Devs couldn't just buff Legion they had to take something strong away.21 comments 511 views last activity

All Aura perks should have a secondary effect that makes them useful outside of pure information. For example, Kindred granting a 10% unhooking boost. Or Situational Awareness boosting repair speeds for other Survivors by 5%. They wouldn't have to all be unique some aura perks could have the same bonuses as one another but all of them should have something8 comments 111 views last activity

The Twins used to be so good last year after they had their bug fixes and before they got their nerfs. They had a unique playstyle and got rewarded for playing it similar to Nurse. They were always hard to play but there was a payoff. But now the Twins have gotten patches of nerfs that have made them clunkier and the game has added mechanics that directly counter them. Max healing speed caps at 100%. This changes none of the current values on individual perks or med-kits it merely nerfs stacking healing benefits.1 comments 71 views last activity

I agree with the sentiments of the Dev Update. The game can never be balanced well if SWFs have such an advantage over solo players. There's no real way to nerf SWFs because DBD can't exactly disable discord, so buffing solos is the way to go. Having a generator icon, healing icon, chase icon etc. next to a Survivor's name would go miles to helping coordinate hook saves and have solo players14 comments 121 views last activity

We're at the point where the mechanics of DBD are so unreliable that its almost impossible to tell the difference between lagging, hacking and the servers having issues. The Devs have made almost every one of those issues solely the Killer's problem. In the past, it plagued Survivors too but now its mainly Killers with validation updates. If something looks strange on the Killer's screen, its g7 comments 301 views last activity

I haven’t used Dead Hard in over a month on Survivor and don’t miss it. The perk I use now is Overcome. It generally buys me enough time to reach loops after I’m injured in chase and frequently makes the Killer give up chase altogether. I actually find myself getting more use out of Overcome than Dead Hard because it allows me to take protection hits risk free and run off to heal (in COH).22 comments 221 views last activity

I always use slowdown that DOESN'T require me to physically kick generators. The amount of time kicking a gen or any perk that requires you to go to kick a gen wastes isn't worth the reward. Surge, Pain Resonance, Ruin (Undying), Corrupt, Deadlock, No Way Out, Thana all the way.13 comments 771 views last activity

All the Killers this year had super unique weapon ideas. Probably the most creative year we've had for the weapon designs. Trickster Weapon: A Bat with a Blade and Neon Prop Throwing Knives. Nemesis Weapon: Fisting and Giant Tentacle. Pinhead Weapon: Chains and Hooks. Artist Weapon: Ink and Murders of Crows.0 comments 51 views last activity

I used to love Twins and mained them for over 8 months. Now I can't bring myself to touch them. Here's what their glaring issues are: DEAD HARD VALIDATION. Victor gets kicked for landing hits. Total wrecks momentum. Toy Sword is mandatory. Really hampers your ability to have fun with addons. Boons cannot be snuffed by Victor. COH and Exponential also hard counter the Twins playstyle. I wanna know people's take on this. Should there be a level of skill a Killer can reach where they consistently win or should Survivors always be at a power level where they can overcome even the strongest Killers?45 comments 721 views last activity

After the initial backlash I never heard what happened to them. Did they actually release them or was it just a publicity thing?8 comments 111 views last activity

By far, my favorite Killer at this point is Trickster. If you’re good at Trickster, no amount of second chance perks will keep Survivors from going down. Its just a matter of time. If I want a Survivor down, they’ll go down no matter how strong the tile they’re looping is. Because of that, I never really feel outplayed or out-perked. If I lose, its gens and bad time efficiency my end. I always0 comments 51 views last activity

Boons don’t need a massive nerf. They are strong right now, but they need to remain strong to be competitive with the Survivor meta perks. The main issue I think both sides can agree on is the lack of impact of snuffing totems and the ease of re-lighting totems. So here’s my proposal: once a boon is snuffed the perk goes on cooldown where it cannot be re-lit. The Devs could play around with42 comments 431 views last activity

Dead Hard is the only exhaustion perk that actually encourages looping. Sprint Burst, Lithe, Smash Hit, Balanced Landing and Overcome all basically just promote gaining distance holding W. They’re either for playing in unsafe positions or leaving loops. Head On basically just promotes coordinating meme plays with SWFs. Mercy Killing Sometimes people have to die for others to live. Press E while healing a Survivor in the dying state to instantly cause their bleed-out timer to expire. Gain 1 health state and reset one hook state. “There’s no other way. Its for the best”0 comments 31 views last activity

Neither character in this Chapter directly kills anyone in their lore. All the deaths are indirect. The Artist is obsessed with painting crows. Crows help her and kill people to protect her. A group of crows is called a Murder. The new chapter is named A Portrait of Murder as a reference to the crows. It has nothing to do with killing anyone.4 comments 91 views last activity

In the past, good Killers expected 4/3ks with little resistance. They could run meta builds and on their mains and have a really dominant performance. Now since MMR, Killers generally get 1-3ks when playing well. Playing extra sweaty doesn't result in an absolute steamroll most of the time. Personally, I think its healthier and Killers have been slowly changing their mindsets from expecting a 448 comments 1,131 views last activity

I think No ED can select a Boon totem and immediately be deactivated. So if there's a Boon in the trial there's a chance No ED will never proc. The introduction of Boons has finally given Survivors a reason to look for totems and effectively ended the Ruin/Undying meta in the process (only a few fast paced slug heavy Killers can run Ruin/Undying now its suboptimal on most Killers). Here are perks I have been getting consistent use out of that I overlooked before: DEADLOCK: very very reliable slowdown. this perk will save you a minute13 comments 341 views last activity

Survivors have A Tier and S Tier perks. Except most of them are from before 2018. Pretty much nothing in the past 3 years has been remotely meta. Every new Survivor has had initial fanfare and then basically just become another cosmetic option with their perks leaving builds once the novelty wears off. Boons finally look like Survivors might change their 2017 builds that haven’t been touched32 comments 511 views last activity

A Survivor that runs Dead Hard (or any other exhaustion perk) will loop and make decisions based on their perk. They will not necessarily make the same choices someone with a different build would make. So if a Survivor is consciously playing around their perk... where's the mistake to fix?25 comments 361 views last activity

I just realized that different people have different opinions on which Killers are "M1 Killers" In my opinion, an M1 Killer is a 115% Killer with no damaging ranged attack (without addons) that has to get the majority of their downs by literally hitting someone with their basic attack. Essentially, the Killers that are good with the perk Jolt (Surge). Here are the Killers I consider M1 Killer13 comments 291 views last activity

With the beauty of Killer MMR, the only way to reliable 4k is by forcing hook states, tunneling or snowballing. Bubba and Trickster are some of the best Killers at that. I'm getting more reliable 2-4ks with them than Blight and Twins at this point3 comments 61 views last activity

I feel like scourge hooks should be mechanically different from normal hooks. Like immune to sabotage, breaking and 100% self-unhook fail rate. It would be a nice touch that would make going out of your way to use them legitimately worth it.7 comments 111 views last activity

A good healing perk that gets virtually guaranteed value for people that know totem spawns. People will run it for sure, but it won’t be in every game because it’s competing against simply bringing a med-kit or gen rushing with Iron Will.14 comments 191 views last activity

Last night, I played in a four man SWF with good friends. All of us had more than 2000 hours playtime. We went the entire night getting 3-4 escapes almost every match and only got 4k’d once. I kept thinking the matchmaking was messing up and giving us baby Killers but they always had meta builds and good add-ons. Heck some games ended up being against streamers. I ended the night realizing th17 comments 391 views last activity
