  • Yes, happened to me. I was using a purple medkit and couldn’t get the second heal despite not missing a skill check. 32 charges should be exactly two heals but it wasn’t.

  • Just happened to me again.

    Map: Shelter Woods

    Killer: Hag

    Perk: NOED

Someone got downed by NOED and I got absolutely no indication that it was active. End game screen verified that it was in play.

  • Hag is short, slow and her weapon is her hand so it seems like her lunge should be shorter than it is. In reality it’s the same standard distance as other killers.

  • It feels like red rank survivors get worse and worse. I’ve had multiple instances recently where I’m chased for a couple of minutes so the match should be off to a good start, but I go down and 0 gens are done and my teammates are all running around doing... I don’t even know what. If that’s the first few minutes of the game I’m sorry but I’m out. If they’re too brainless to even work on gens, literally the easiest task in the game that even a monkey could accomplish, I’m not sticking around.

There are survivors who will kill themselves even if gens are being done and saves are being made and the match is clearly winnable, but I assume they’re either mad about which killer it is or have to go and eat dinner or whatever. Who knows.

  • This has to be a joke thread. I know some people like to complain about completely average things for petty reasons but Soul Guard, really? Try running it for ten games and report back on how often it actually does anything for you.

  • I really love the idea but RIP consoles and low end PCs if they ever implemented this, lol.

  • @Gdfighter said:

I'm a killer main, in the most matches I don't tunnel but when there is already 3 gens done and I'm still chasing 1 survivor I try to maximise my awards by killing so many as I can.

I'd don't know why is it so bad, I think its a good tactic to get blood points

Please go easy on me lol. This is my second week playing this game.

There are two reasons it’s considered bad by some:

    • It’s simply not a very good strategy against really good survivors. Focusing on one person and putting no pressure on the others is a great way to lose every gen. If you’re playing against a smart team with people who know how to loop you’ll have to deal with BT, DS and teammates bodyblocking you which will waste a lot of your time. It’s usually just better to spread the pain a little.
    • If the survivor is not very good then you kill them quickly and they can’t do anything. They get no bloodpoints, they depip and feel frustrated and annoyed. This is the main reason survivors complain about it.

Sometimes tunnelling is the right move, e.g. if there’s one gen left and you need someone dead. But usually it’s not a great habit to get into since it’s easy for coordinated teams to punish it.

Do you know if they fixed the program that does it as well or just the other way?

It’s no longer possible to see the killer in any way and a ton of people got banned by EAC for using external programs (though I believe some then got unbanned). This is what I’ve been told at least.

  • Happened again - I was cursed by a hex but there was no indication on the HUD.

    Map: Midwich Elementary

    Killer: Huntress

    Bugged perk: Hex: Ruin

Hmmm I do swap killers at the last moment because of survuvors spying on who the killer is, maybe that’s it. Are you saying I need To put the offering back in if I swap

They fixed this in the latest patch, thankfully, so no need to swap anymore. :)

  • Visually it looks amazing and I think they did a great job with the overall look and atmosphere. The sound design is also pretty cool.

Gameplay-wise I hate it. It’s simultaneously too cluttered and too empty. The corridors are completely barren and the rooms are full of random useless crap and debris. Most of the pallets are unsafe. It’s kind of noisy so difficult to hear survivors. Spawns are weird, I’ve had a few games where I spawned in a corridor and the killer/survivor spawned at the other end, so I basically started the match in a chase. Gens are hard to find your way to even if you can hear them. Navigating from one floor to another takes way too long.

I dunno, I’m not a fan of the indoor maps in general and I think this might be my least favourite so far. Maybe my first impressions are unfair and I’ll grow to love it over time, we’ll see.

  • The fact that people are calling mori an “equaliser” for games where the rank disparity is too large just shows that moris are unbalanced. An item which allows a player with less experience to beat players who should win (if ranks are accurate) is an item which is inherently unbalanced. If moris were balanced they wouldn’t allow lower ranked killers to win against survivors they should be losing against.

    Fix matchmaking and nerf moris.

Lol. Playing solo, on rank 4 on xbox. All the randoms getting tormented. BT, we`ll make it and kind of the we are gonna life forever are completely useless.

I can see, that the 100% abusing swf swats are getting a deserved debuff. But its just not worth taking BT or we`ll make it with me when playing solo, although it wasnt a abused perk, it was simply often enough anti tunnel or a good safe in the EGC.

Problem is, my perk gets deactivated because a stranger from around the world ######### up. The perks have gone from top tier to useless now, until i play in a swf. Or the killer isnt played in 100% of my matches.

Yeah, playing solo against PH is pretty miserable, he’s a big nerf to a lot of the perks that help you survive solo queue. I think I’m taking a long break from playing survivor.

  • What great design :)

Please I’m begging you BHVR don’t go overboard with the cosmetic sets. One of my favorite aspects of DBD cosmetics is the whole customization part, being able to mix and match what head, torso and legs I want to wear. It gives an extra dynamic to cosmetics and makes each skin feel that much more unique. It would really kill my desire to buy cosmetics if most of them become sets that you cannot customize so I’m really hoping that these sets stay as a rare occurrence for super special skins.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. Every patch there are issues with cosmetics clipping, having seams, disappearing, and overall not working properly together. This is probably their solution: skins that can be pumped out faster because they don’t have to be designed to interact with other skins.

  • No, crouching is a reasonable counter. If survivors couldn’t crouch he could trail all around the hook and the unhooked survivor would be screwed.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

If you and your team were making mistakes left and right, how does that make the game unfair?

    I genuinely don't understand.

Because they’re a rank 6 placed with ranks 15, 18 and 20. They’re not complaining because their teammates made mistakes, they’re complaining about the matchmaking.

  • I just play the match out, but I haven’t had many bad experiences with streamers. It’s always funny to watch their vod afterwards, you can get some good laughs. I versed a TTV recently in a four man SWF and they were all like “omg how does the killer always know where I am?!” I just kept seeing them in the corner of my eye or hearing them move about but it was funny to hear how paranoid they were, lol. Then I had another one recently where they were a four man with multiple Head Ons but it was a good match and they were pretty wholesome in the end game chat.

Most people are just trying to do their thing and have fun so I don’t see any need to get too serious about it. If they’re toxic then I’ll report them. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • I don’t think it’s racist by design, but I do think that some toxic people use this cosmetic specifically to be edgy.

  • There does seem to be a bias. Whenever someone mentions killer toxicity there will be people there to play white knight - “well the survivors were probably toxic first” / “well they probably had a match against a toxic SWF before you and were just venting frustration”

I haven’t seen many people try to justify survivor toxicity with a “well you probably deserved it”, most people agree it’s annoying and uncalled for. I think it’s because survivor toxicity is more common than killer toxicity.

You'll get used to it eventually. I've found controller is much better for survivor (because of the easy 360's) but MaK is better for killer (because it's a lot more comfortable to counter 360's and mindgame). But, MaK is good for survivor in the sense that you can hug walls really well. And anyways, after about 1 year of MaK, I'm quite good at 360's now lol.

Yeah, I’m still using controller for survivor for the time being. I’ll probably switch over eventually but at least this way I don’t get totally frustrated. The biggest difference I’ve noticed between controller and keyboard for survivor is that fast vaults seem way more consistent.

  • @Poweas said:

Yeah, it gets way easier after a while though, don't worry. Also, it took me about 4 days but I used to play on PC quite often anyway.

I got a new PC in January, but I hadn’t played on PC for about 10 years before that so I’m rusty as heck. D: Just gotta keep practising I guess. I don’t mind losing matches but it feels frustrating to lose because I keep pressing the wrong button, lmao.

  • I can’t imagine many people wanting to play them if they have no power. Learning the ins and outs of the killer power is a big part of the fun.

  • Which killer was it?

me: *saves replay, checks killer's profile* "ah, another russian"

Is quite confusing how fast cote answered "NO" when he got asked in the Q&A, not even a reason.

So then, can I get matches with killers from more diversed countries? I would apreciate that and maybe I could scape.

Just for this ######### system of dedicated servers and how bad sometimes is to play solo q, I'm starting to main killer instead of both roles.

Ah if anyone wonders, my average ping is 80-90 (green and perfect, or at least just before dedicated servers buffed McDonalds connections for some killers ehem).

And just n case, it's obvious this is not excluding a nation or being xenophobe, it's just a proven fact that killers have advantage with bad internet, and russians, have bad connection playing in servers from another CONTINENT.

I sympathise with you, but unfortunately it won’t happen. DBD uses Amazon gaming servers and they don’t have any in Russia.

Maybe he did not give a crap? I mean, I don't see a reason to explain myself to everyone like they're the DBD thought/action police. Just because he did not say what YOU would say does not mean he did not try.

But again; people want that 'He's guilty! BAN HIM for making me sad!' narrative.

I mean, did you guys all stop doing generators? Did you plan on not touching another generator until the problem was fixed? Or is it only the Killer who has to stop playing when a bug happens? Odd how only the Killer is at fault for playing the game, when Survivors say so..

One person stuck under a hook cannot do generators. Generators are irrelevant to this situation. But you want to see this killer as a victim of meanie survivors despite them being an obvious and self-admitted troll so I’m done replying to you. Have a great weekend.

  • @Hex_Generator said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1348620#Comment_1348620

THERE IS ALSO A BUG WHERE THE KILLER CANNOT DOWN PEOPLE STUCK UNDER A HOOK.

My god, the fact that people HAVE SAID THIS and Survivors continue to ignore it to blubber 'The Killer needs a ban for not throwing the match!' is insane.

    Also:

HE ENDED THE MATCH BY KILLING EVERYONE AND TRIGGERING THE EGC!

So your 'holding the game hostage' narrative is completely wrong. There is 0 fact in that statement, at all. But Survivors will scream 'HOSTAGE' every time they want someone banned.

Killer slugged you? Scream he held the game hostage.

Killer tunneled you because you're an easy target? Hostage!

Survivors 3-genned & expect the Killer to throw the game? HOSTAGE!

Killer patrolled the exit gates, and the Survivors stayed hidden instead of trying for the gates? Clearly the KILLER is at fault and held the game hostage! he should have sat in a corner for 30 seconds!

This is the new buzzword; if the Killer does ANYTHING the Survivors say is against the rules, it's suddenly holding the game hostage. Because if they can twist it to fit that narrative, then it comes, in their mind, bannable.

If the killer had been unable to kill the survivor they would have said that in the end game chat.

“Why didn’t you get it over with?”

    ”I couldn’t kill you”

Weird how they didn’t say that and instead chose to ADMIT to being an ass just because.

Leaving the survivor stuck under a hook for three minutes when you can end the match is holding the game hostage. None of the rest of the stuff you’ve mentioned has anything to do with this situation. Good job on turning a cut and dry griefing situation into a “killer good, survivor bad” post though.

  • @Hex_Generator said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1348529#Comment_1348529

And what should the Killer have done? Idled & let Survivors escape? You're stating the Killer deserves to be reported because he CONTINUED TO PLAY after the Survivor go stuck. Maybe the Killer could not fix it.

Does the Killer get to report the 3 Survivors for trying to do gens while their friend was stuck? They did not fix the problem either!

Oh wait, entitled Survivor thoughts: Survivors Are Never Wrong.

The Killer would be AWARE of the bug and just not have any way to fix it. This does not mean he has to be banned because he did not give the game to the other 3 Survivors any more than the Survivors can be banned for trying to do generators afterwards.

I mean, unless you want to be entitled and assume 'bug = Survivors win' is some sort of enforceable rule. It's frankly stupid how many people think that the Killer not caring means he needs to be banned. How many of you all seriously think the Killer has to throw the game if Survivors say so?

    So freaking entitled.

THE KILLER COULD HAVE DOWNED THE SURVIVOR AND KILLED THEM.

My god. The fact that there are people here defending a killer holding the game hostage is pathetic.

This is a semi-common bug. The survivor cannot leave the hook but the killer CAN interact with them. They can smack the survivor down and as this survivor was injured in the screenshot, they COULD have done that, hooked the survivor and ended the match. They chose not to just to BM for no reason.

The OP was quite clear. Stop being obtuse and defending people exploiting a bug to hold the game hostage.

  • Yui and Zarina definitely ping my gaydar a bit. I feel like Dwight is bi, Claudette is asexual, and Jeff is another question mark.

I don’t care about the killers. They’re murderers and weird paranormal beings and such so I’m not sure anyone of any sexuality wants representation from them, tbh.

  • @Loner said:

  • @Rydog said:

Can you please address the sanctioned griefing mechanic that is the Memento Mori? It moves the game's goalposts like no other mechanic in DBD, and I don't understand what the upshot of it is, for anyone. The red mori effectively erases a life from every survivor, and it takes Bloodpoint-earning opportunities away from killers.

Aside from "it's funsies for the killer to throw a grenade into the center of the match for kicks," I don't get it. And that's a stupid reason anyway. Like, what is even the design philosophy behind these items? Why do you believe they are enjoyable, or what do they add to the game? Why is DBD better off with these items as-is?

Also, dear repliers: I already headed off all of your whataboutisms. I'll repeat: The Memento Mori moves the game's goalposts like no other mechanic. It fundamentally torpedoes the basic game flow to a degree that no single perk, item, power, or add-on possibly can. Keys are the only other thing that mess with the game flow nearly this bad, but that is an entirely different topic that I also feel strongly about (I'm only mentioning that here out of some warped sense that I need to provide some sort of balance for all the inevitable empty SURVIVOR MAIN / KILLER MAIN replies, which incidentally is a tactic that doesn't work on me because I don't favor either role).

Moris are dumb. They are a terminally bad design choice. I don't know why they still exist in the game in this form (and no, I don't care for any "well they're better than they used to be" rationalizing, either).

I wish they’d change them as well. They promote extremely unfun gameplay on both sides. The killer is incentivised to tunnel straight off the hook and instantly remove someone from the game, and the survivors rush gens as fast as they can, avoid altruism and then play as immersed as possible. Mori games are truly awful.

  • It’s not a great pick. You can avoid pallet stuns by placing a trap, even if the survivor drops it on your head the animation will make you avoid the stun. You can also just trap near the pallet and the survivor will usually run away to another tile. I don’t eat too many pallets as Trapper so I wouldn’t pick Enduring, personally.

I’d say a better chase perk for him is Save The Best For Last, having a shorter attack cooldown helps in chases and also helps you to snowball. Trapper has a strong defensive game, so being able to dish out multiple hits quickly to grouped up survivors is pretty useful.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1342963#Comment_1342963

No, the killer is chasing one person while another is still working on gens and two are back up before they can even land the first hit. Furthermore, there are now two survivors who can't be picked up even if they unhook in your face or are repairing a generator right in front of you. That's not a strong position at all.

Only one person on a gen is a good position for the killer, however you want to try and frame it.

DS only lasts for 60 seconds, they’re not invulnerable. And you can just slug them again and now they don’t have Unbreakable anymore. Their DSes and Unbreakables are limited use, slugging is infinite.

  • Then one person is on gens, one is being chased, one slugged and the Unbreakable user is healing the slug. Still a strong position for any killer to be in.

  • @Cheers said:

The problem is the way people use it. Let's say you hook someone while a guy with ds gets unhooked. He instantly goes over to unhook the recently hooked guy.

Both of them have DS. You either leave both of them, slug both of them, or down and pick up one.

Regardless of your choice you are losing alot of pressure and momentum. That's my problem with DS. It can be used to change the killer from having all momentum to practically none.

Slug both. I don’t see how this removes the killer’s momentum, if anything you’re in a really strong position. You have two slugs next to each other that need to be picked up, and if you chase the first person who comes for the save you require the fourth survivor to also leave their gen. Now you have a really strong position: two slugs, one chase, and one rescuer. Four survivors all near each other, not doing gens, being entirely reactive and vulnerable to a snowball. This is like my dream scenario as killer, lol.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1341117#Comment_1341117

Spirit Fury at least destroys a pallet by itself. Enduring will only let you start breaking the pallet faster. It's not bad but not necessarily worth a perk slot all it's own when you're not comboing it with something.

It doesn’t do as much on ultra safe pallets, but if the pallet is slightly more questionable a lot of survivors will aim for the stun and immediately bail to the next tile. Enduring lets you brush it off and catch up fast (so it’s especially good on maps like Hawkins or Dead Dawg). It also gives you the freedom to swing at every single pallet drop since it’s so low risk - even if you don’t get a hit, the stun is barely noticeable.

It’s definitely good on some killers even without Spirit Fury. I guess it depends on playstyle and killer power though.

I often see people escaping with 24-25k without having any interaction with the killer. This game rewards bad players that repair, hide and escape. Guess what the good players that want to play DBD receive? 8000 bloodpoints and MAYBE a ggwp from the killer.

The essence of the game is getting lost, which is being chased by the killer.

“The essence of this game is being chased by the killer”

    “I camp with Insidious Bubba”

??? If you want more chases, maybe camping isn’t the best way to go about it?

The thing is, survivors can easily get 10,000+ BP even if the killer does literally nothing. Just doing gens and escaping.

People just too stubborn to do that sometimes!

You get 5000 points for escaping so sure, you can get 10k in an AFK killer game. You won’t get 10k from an Insidious camper game where everyone dies though.

I often see people getting more than just 3000 points after being a while in the match. Like i said, i got 2 gens left, so the match didnt last 2 minutes. Im also surprised you use as an argument red ranks, when they dont even matter in this casual game, being in "red ranks" more bots than actually good players that deserve this "rank", if it does something.

People get more than 3000 points when they have the opportunity to. Against an Insidious camping Leatherface, the opportunities to get bloodpoints are extremely limited. Cooperation, altruism and interaction with the killer are the best way for survivors to get points in this game and your playstyle prevented all three of those.

Yes, bad players get easily boosted to red ranks. You said it, not me. :)

  • @xEzekanarioX said:

So i was camping with bubba (i know what are you thinking right now, but i do this when i get really rushed, for example before this match, i played trapper and did 1 hook with 1 gen left for no reason), i got 2 GENS LEFT and i managed to kill them all because altruism you know.

Then i saw this scoreboard and it was amazing:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IA4T6CJ4IYYF/camping-bubba-ss.jpg

So everyone of them got 3-4k points with only 2 gens left? What happened? Lol

You didn’t chase anyone so they got no boldness, you forbade saves so they got no altruism. They didn’t escape and could only sit on gens so they get little points in any category except objective, which is stingy if you play smart and split up. Anyone at red ranks should know how the scoring system works so I’m surprised that you’re surprised by this scoreboard.

I used to be very anti-DS and meta builds, but damn killers are really trying to change that. Other than the two rank 20 killers I've been matched with tonight, literally all the other killers practically bust a nut when they see no DS and I get proxy camped and tunneled to death. Like hard tunneled. Others try to take hits, but even then if they hit them the killer still follows me right after. I do not taunt killers, I do not use items (except maybe a medkit but rarely), and I was running sprint burst/ botany/ bond/ resilience. Definitely not a sweaty build, yet I get tunnled because I do not run the meta. Welp, here I am now with BT, DS, unbreakable, and sprint burst lol. Seems the only way I'm *allowed* to remain in a match.

I hate complaining about this because of the stupid "survivor handbook rules" but to killers, this is why people run this stuff lol. I never did until you guys wanted to punish me for not running it.

And before people call me a survivor main, I play both, but I try to play fairly. 🤦‍♀️

Play whatever makes your games more enjoyable. I don’t care if survivors think I’m sweaty for running Pop or if killers think I’m sweaty for running DS, I’m gonna use the perks I enjoy that make my games less frustrating.

I don’t enjoy being tunnelled so I run DS. I didn’t used to but I got tired of being chased immediately off hook. If people wanna complain about it then whatever, but there’s a reason it’s such a popular perk. Most of the people who complain about DS have no qualms about using things survivors hate like moris, NOED, iridescent add ons and so on. They’re free to use what they like and so is everybody else.

3 people sitting on different gens is insanely OP and almost impossible to stop. They all had sprint burst, gens were far apart, my frenzy can't reach all of them and they got the last 2 gens done no matter what I did.

If I chase one of them, the other 2 can do the gens, get the adrenaline and rescue the teammate easily.

Multiple people on gens isn't the problem, it's survivors splitting up and pressuring gens. You can split into 3 or 4 and stop all of them, its just crazy.

I don’t think this shows what’s wrong with the game, it just sucks because there’s not much you can do. But this is the smart play from them.

The other day I had a match as Trapper where I lost the first four gens really fast because the survivors went from gen to gen while I set up and they three gen’d themselves. Then one of them went down and got hooked in the open in the middle of my three gen. There was nothing they could do - they couldn’t save, or do gens, or loop because I’d trapped the area. From their perspective I’m sure it felt unfair and uncounterable but that was the best play I could do so I did it and killed them all.

This is kind of similar. It sucks but they’re just using the best strategy against your killer and perks. Your build is encouraging them to not heal, and Legion encourages them to keep separated, so they split up and focus the objective. If you don’t want survivors to do that, I’d consider changing your perks. This is the risk of running anti-heal Legion: they don’t heal and you get rushed out of the match.

  • Problem is it only activates twice, requires you to heal someone first, and makes you broken for 30 seconds before it works. Compare it to Inner Strength, which is similar but only requires a totem cleanse and a locker and it’s obvious which is the better perk. Why would I run Second Wind when I could run Inner Strength or even just a medkit?

  • There is no counter but people will tell you it’s fine anyway.

  • Survivor hit boxes are also spheres, I assume that’s why.

I can’t stand playing against Huntress on dedicated servers so I’ll be glad when this tome is done, that’s all I’ll say.

  • @bilaueta said:

So, did I tunnel a survivor while chasing and hooking two other survivors?

Plus, the guy who DS'd me didnt even bother to run away, he was just running around me, heading straight for unsafe unhooks so I had no option but to interrupt him on his second unhook in 30 seconds

I lost all the pressure I had since the beginning of the game (leading to only one gen being left at the end of the game) with one perk used against it's whole purpose, seems rather fair

Yes, NOED is annoying; yes, freddy can be boring to play against; and yes, tunneling needs a fix

But come on these kinds if situations are stupid

I’m not sure I understand your complaint. You’re annoyed because you killed everyone with only 1 gen left, rather than more? Or am I misunderstanding?

Thats a pretty big assumption you just made there. Dont presume to know what uve been through and I wont to you, k?

Im not going to keep arguing politucs on a video game forum because thats dumb. Believe what you want, do what you want, my only point in this thread was if you let random people you dont know get you tilted over words on a screen you should probably look at that.

Just ignore my comments, don’t let the words of a stranger bother you.

  • Be patient. Don’t swing or lunge if you can see them preparing to do it (usually they’re looking behind them). Let them spin, follow their movement and then hit them. If you get spun a couple of times, don’t let it tilt you - just take a breath and wait.
