My main music is at like 75%, and the menu music is 40% I think? Less than half.
Playing killer I notice reduced/nonexistent footstep and breathing sounds in every match. Survivors being silent on the ground isn’t as common but happens frequently enough that I notice it. Playing survivor, I’ll get the free Iron Will once every few matches, it’s not super common. There are also issues with occlusion like other people have said, and Dwight in particular is bugged (he doesn’t make a sound when he falls from a height).
Do you think that the menu music setting is messing with in-match sound balance?
-
Considering that you can get easy points in the trial by doing dull totems, farming unhooks, escaping through the hatch and doing co-op gens, no, not necessarily. The most lucrative actions aren’t always the best. You can play smart and help your team and score lower than someone who played badly and threw the match.
-
Iri Button is only really great if the survivors are bots and drop pallets on a frenzying Legion, in which case they have only themselves to blame. So no, it’s not OP.
They were probably just mad about the mori and wanted to find things to criticise.
-
They’re probably eating/drinking or using the bathroom.

It says that it grants 104% bloodpoints for all players in the trial. But every time someone in the trial plays one and I don't, I don't get any extra BP. So do they not actually work like party streamers and previous cakes?
They’re currently bugged and due to be fixed in the next hotfix patch, probably this week.
-
The ideal game mode for those salty survivors that complain about everything killers do! Just do gens and leave, perfect :D
-
They’re there. Unfortunately some maps are better than others for finding them (much easier on Autohaven than Hawkins, for example).
-
Leave him slugged. If he’s so eager to not get hooked he can enjoy bleeding out on the ground.
-
I think Deathslinger is ok for the most part... unless they camp. He’s an extremely annoying camper because of his small terror radius and ranged attack, and because solo queue players can’t communicate it’s a strong way for him to play. Otherwise, split up and pressure gens and he’s mostly helpless.
-
If you’re playing a standard M1 killer, some kind of slowdown is often necessary. Either you slow down the gens or you snowball, and Demo isn’t particularly good at snowballing.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone has it. Almost everyone runs it in the higher ranks, you can also tell when someone has it if they're your obsession and you don't have any obsession perks, it's more of a gut feeling or a guess and most if the time I'm right.
The Obsession isn’t always running DS. I’ve had matches where I was the Obsession with no DS, and ones where I was the only person running DS and not the Obsession. DS makes the Obsession random precisely so the killer can’t tell who has it.
-
Where’s that image of Doctor saying “GIT GUD”?
-
So he’s going to prove that Nemesis and PWYF is good on Bubba and helps with some of the weaknesses of his kit? I’m not sure I see the point, people have been saying this for a while.
I agree that Bubba is underrated, in fact I think almost every killer is underrated because the way some people go on you can’t play anything except Spirit at red ranks which is just not the case in my experience. But people are right about Bubba’s weaknesses and limitations. Against most teams you can do well if you’re a good killer player. But this is just Tru3 doing his typical “your experiences are only hearsay and bias but my experience is objective fact” routine.

Tbh i never really understood why killers hate haddonfield
Every time i get sent there I usually 4k
Gens are really hard to patrol, it’s difficult to move around due to all the walls, survivors can mostly see/hear you coming and there are tons of places to hide so hiding is more viable than on a lot of other maps. The houses are just too safe with quite a lot of safe windows, plus all the pallets are decently safe too. Unless you get lucky outside gen spawns, chances are you can’t defend the gens at all.
A lot of survivors don’t make good use of the map, but if you get a team that knows what they’re doing it’s really unfun.
-
Yep. As another person who plays both sides I agree that both keys and moris are overpowered and need to be tweaked to make them less frustrating to deal with.

The Gateaus do not expire, so you don't have to worry about the event still being active. You'll be able to use them any time.
But we can’t get more gateaux after the event, right? So typically people will use them during the event because everyone else does, boosting everyone’s BP and allowing everyone to get more gateaux on multiple killers/survivors. We can’t do that now though so can you understand why people are a bit frustrated? Even if they don’t expire, we’re not getting the benefit of other people’s offerings which usually would allow us to get more gateaux during the event window.

This game has many tiles that are full of walls and LOS breaks. Just because pallets and windows aren't good against her doesn't mean 1.) they can't be used against her, they can but it's much harder and 2.) her equivalent of windows and pallets is LOS breaks and stealth.
People act like pallets and windows are the only thing survivors have in the game and conveniently ignore everything else when discussing Nurse.
Everything that survivors can use in chases against the Nurse are also things they can use against other killers. Breaking line of sight, spins, unpredictable pathing, stealth, doubling back - all can be used against a Pig or a Billy or a Spirit as well.
I’m not saying there’s nothing survivors can do against her. I’m saying there is LESS they can do against Nurse than any other killer because she ignores all physical barriers, which makes her the best killer in the game.
-
She can teleport through windows and pallets, the two things survivors use to make distance from the killer. Anyone who says she’s bad is just wrong, she has weaknesses and bugs and she’s difficult to master but she has the greatest potential of any killer in the game.
The fact that there are people who think a teleporting killer in a game about chases isn’t good really makes me scratch my head sometimes.
-
I think people underrate Legion and Bubba the most. Are they top tier? No. They definitely have weaknesses and some clunky mechanics. But the way some people go on you’d think they’re completely garbage when they’re just not. Against the mythical “fully optimal four man SWF that never make mistakes” they’d lose, obviously, but then so would every other killer except a god Nurse.
I also think a lot of people underrate Trapper, but I may be biased as a current Trapper main.

Right, cause survivors gloating at the gates after beating the killer to a pulp due to terrible maps, crutch perks, and quite literally the worst balancing team video gaming history, is not toxic. Right.
Gloating has existed in almost every PvP game and will continue to exist for as long as people are playing them. My boyfriend plays a game called Brawlhalla and some people there gloat every single time they get a kill, lmao. If gloating bothers you that badly then I’d honestly recommend staying away from PvP games because you’ll never escape it.
-
I don’t “play by the survivor rule book”, whatever that means, but it’s more fun to play aggressive and pressure everyone than it is to camp (yawn).
I’m not sure why so many killers are obsessed with the “survivor rule book”. No one’s gonna come and take your PC/console away if you tunnel someone. It’s not bannable to play in a way survivors don’t like so you’re free to do as you please, and they’re free to have an opinion. Sometimes their opinion is dumb and sometimes it’s not. It’s just a game so don’t take it so seriously.
-
They have to escape the trial to get their crown, so it’s entirely possible they’re running their sweatiest builds so more of them can escape. It’s frustrating but I’d try not to take it too personally.
-
It’s probably one of two reasons:
- You’re easy to catch and therefore an easy kill.
- You’re really difficult to catch so they become stubborn and fixate on killing you above all others.
Could be other reasons, like they hate Blendettes or Object of Obsession ot whatever, but it’s usually one of those two.
-
@bm33 said:
I think they just don't trust the killer - there's alot that will message survivors saying they want to farm only to kill them all fairly quick. Fall for that couple times and you don't trust killers actually want to have a farming match.
It’s probably this.
I’ve had more killers pretending to farm for easy kills than I have actual farmers in the last 6 months.
-
“People are abusing pallets and gen rushing.”
This is extreme hyperbole. They’re not “abusing” anything. They’re using tools the game gives them to do their objective and escape. That isn’t abuse, it isn’t toxic, and it isn’t unbalanced once you learn how to deal with it.
If you only play killer and you’ve only been playing for a couple of months then you still have a ton to learn about this game before you can comment on its balance. I would strongly recommend trying survivor to learn how they play, and also looking up some guides on YouTube for tips on how to play killer.

People saying these box spawns are fine are outta their minds. That one is what, 10 seconds away from the killer?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1376843#Comment_1376843
If you don't know when to zone for guaranteed hits that's not my problem.
But the boxes spawn on the other side of the map!!!!!!
I wish people would just admit that PH was designed to be the easiest tunneler in the game and that plenty of people who play him do it. You can still enjoy the killer, it’s okay. I like playing Bubba without camping but I can still admit that he’s an S tier camper.
-
Once you have a survivor build you’re happy with, there isn’t much reason to change it. All survivors play exactly the same and the build you settle on is usually one that helps in most matches. Until there are more viable perks, this will never change.
At least with killer you have different perks to synergise with your power. Survivors don’t have that diversity though.

In a chase it's a bad perk yes, I'm talking about using it for it's generator rushing capabilities or more rather the combo that can come from these perks in early game, yes Its harder to lose a chase but with some practice and ignoring crutch perks it's a great perk.
Allot of the killers perks are late game so the less hooks early game the better and if you get 2 gens for every 1 hook it's an easy escape
But it HAS no gen rush capabilities. No Mither doesn’t affect gens at all. You’re only able to do gens faster thanks to Resilience, but you could run at the killer in the first few seconds of the match, take a hit and never heal and have the exact same effect, except this way you’d have an extra perk slot.
If you want to make an argument for any perk being a broken gen rush perk, it should be Resilience, not No Mither.

Your not one hit with dead hard though the downside is not gaining a speed boost but that only delays the chase a matter of seconds
But you can still use Dead Hard if you 99 your heal, in fact you can heal when the killer approaches, loop until hit, speed boost, use Dead Hard, then take another hit before going down. And you can use a better perk than No Mither, like literally any other survivor perk. With NM you’ll also never be left if the killer sees you since you’re an easy target, and you can’t take hits to protect your team.
I just don’t see how NM is a good perk in any way, shape or form, let alone “broken”.
-
It makes you permanently one shot so no, I don’t agree that it’s broken. You could do the same thing by 99%ing your heal with a medkit and run a better perk instead.
-
This will change. Pyramid Heads are realising that trying to get survivors tormented in every chase can take a lot of time, and survivors are getting better at avoiding it. I’m also seeing fewer and fewer PHs when I play survivor.
It seems like killers are caring less about DS as well and just picking survivors up without considering it, even when there’s an Obsession. All of this together makes me think that survivors will start to run DS more often again before too long.

I'm more chill right now. Getting highly frustrated by things out of my control and feel bad about complaining, now.
Sorry guys!
Having fun with the Killers having fun with gateau!
Glad you’re having fun :)
-
I like the event overall and I don’t expect to be allowed to escape, but I’ve run into way too many killers running ebony moris. I had three back to back, it’s honestly pathetic.
-
Lol this is pathetic. “They nerfed my ability to BM!!!” Boo hoo.
There are in-game reasons a survivor may want to crouch quickly (dodging projectiles) or click their flashlight (get the attention of a teammate). Hitting survivors on the hook is completely pointless.
-
They’re not robbing anyone, there are enough crowns for everyone so there’s no reason not to take them.
-
I actually think this is the best balanced event yet.
- There are enough crowns for everyone, so no need to race
- Nobody can take your crown once you have it, so no trolling
- Killers don’t need to do much to get their crown so you can just play normally
- There’s absolutely no incentive to sandbag, compete or try to ruin anyone else’s game.
Of course there will be people who will become immersed and wait for their teammates to die, or kill you because you have the crown and they’re being an ass. There’s really nothing that can be done about that though. From every other angle, this event is geared towards letting everyone have their chance.

Survivors: Gen rushing doesn't exist. IT'S THE ONLY THING WE CAN DO!
BHVR: Here is something else to do.
Survivors: NOBODY IS DOING GENS WAHHHHH
Because you need to escape to unlock the crown cosmetic, and if nobody does gens you won’t escape? Are you seriously surprised that this is a point of frustration for people?
-
It’s not too bad. Once I grind out my killer crowns I’ll probably just let the survivors with crowns escape as well. I had a killer do this for me earlier too. Once people are used to how the event works I think more people will chill out a bit and just have fun with it.
-
@Seanzu said:
A new crown spawns with every gen being done.
Oh wow, so that’s how it works! I did wonder if they’d have multiple spawns. Thanks for the info.
-
Lol, classic DBD event.
-
Claudettes are either gods who have been playing the game since launch and know every trick in the book, or scaredy cat newbies who have no business being the rank they’re at. There’s no in between.
-
I think Unrelenting is fine in concept, for new players who are learning to deal with getting spun etc. It probably needs a buff to its numbers though.
-
I wish they would slow down a bit and start to release DLC every four months instead of every three. Give the devs some more time to balance things, iron out bugs, etc. The pace they release new content is too fast and it’s only compounding the game’s biggest problems (balance, grind, bugs).
-
I don’t bother with healing perks but I try to always have a medkit. It’s more efficient than almost every other healing option and it means I don’t have to rely on my teammates, but also don’t slow the team down too much. I only heal if I need to (people keep getting slugged, it’s a Spirit, the last gen just popped, etc.) and otherwise just play injured most of the time. If the match is going well and we have breathing room I’ll let people heal me though.
-
I could only see this working if it’s based off undeniable toxicity, like bodyblocking another survivor in a corner for minutes at a time. Stuff like teabagging or clicking your flashlight can be done to other survivors to communicate with them, or dodging Huntress hatchets as an example. Hitting a survivor on the hook could be auto-aim. Nodding is hilarious. Mori spam no longer exists, slugging is part of the game.
So you have to consider, what would breach the “code of conduct” and how would you be sure it was done deliberately to be toxic? Toxicity is subjective.
-
This sounds like it would be the most boring match of my life but ok.
-

Soo the killer is getting punished for outperforming and he should be punished because survivors refused to heal and kept fixing gens?
great survivor logic
He would have avoided DS entirely if he picked up either of the other survivors he had slugged... at that point you’re “being punished” for not paying attention, not for playing too well.
-
Remove hook grabs on healthy survivors and make BT work on distance from the hook rather than terror radius.
This wouldn’t do anything to help against insta down killers, granted, but the chainsaw killers are the only ones that are really problematic here and I feel like they’re going to get tweaks before too long anyway.
-
I think the content is fine, but unfortunately there are A LOT of new bugs which are making the game really frustrating to play. I really wish that the devs were allowed to take three months off from releasing new content to focus entirely on bug fixes. Unfortunately bug fixes don’t make money like new DLC so I doubt it’ll happen.
-
Yeah, I’m experiencing the same thing. Even in games with an Obsession the killer still tunnels straight off the hook because more often than not, only one person in the game has DS, probably because people are expecting to face Pyramid Head. It’s in all of my builds now until people calm down.
