Ok, next time I'm going to writ my post in ancient sanskrit, a lot of people here can't comprehend english. I never said I was mad. And just because you and others would have to be mad to make a post like this doesnt mean the same for everybody.
You said “this is why killers play toxic”. If a flashlight blind makes you want to be toxic, it’s not a stretch to think that it made you mad. If it made you happy or left you completely unbothered you wouldn’t bother making a thread about it.

Just got done with a match. At the start I found a survivor (Jeff) stuck on a hill due to the bug. I downed him and walked off. I could have hooked him. Should have hooked him too. But no, I showed respect to my fellow player. How was I repaid? With a gen rush of course. I eventually found the survivor, got a hit on him. Then gena were done by this point. He then proceeded to loop which was fine, make it fun. He then went towards the door where one of his teammates body blocked. Instead of leaving he flashlights me. And hels it there til he died then left.
I did nothing toxic at all. And that was spiteful. Not mad. I just no better now. No sympathy for survivors. This will be a classic case of one bad apple ruining the bunch.
Wait, so you’re mad he flashlight blinded you at the gate? That’s it?

They’ll never do anything to help solo players. They’re of the opinion that base kit Kindred would be too strong, but also that SWF comms aren’t that big of a deal. I’m not sure how both could possibly be true at the same time but it seems to be the official position. “We don’t want people to have too much information but also having information doesn’t even really help you that much.”
-
This isn’t a SWF thing, this is a “person with issues” thing. Plenty of normal people play in SWFs, the kind that don’t wish death upon you and even say gg once in a while. And unstable people also play solo and say awful things.

and keys. Fix both (which apparently they are)
Yep, but I quote: “PLEASE list ONE item”
-
You’re not wrong. The most lucrative way to play is to be an absolute detriment to your team. Scour the map for totems and chests, go for saves at all costs, if you get chased do dumb stuff like drop every pallet you see or go for the stun every single time even if you have to take a hit to do it. If you do touch a gen, only do co-op gens, even if it’s not the right call at that time. It kind of sucks since it breeds the sorts of teammates that people complain about in solo queue.
-
Ebony moris.
-
I understand both sides of this. It frustrates me when people just open the gates and immediately leave, not even bothering to see if anyone needs a bodyblock or a heal or whatever.
But on the other hand, I’ve died sooo many times from trying to be altruistic and help my teammates and then dying because of their clumsiness, or because I helped them and then they left without any attempt to help me. I feel like sometimes, the smartest play is to abandon the last guy because greediness usually just gives the killer more kills.
If you’re not in a position to coordinate a save (comms and knowledge of each other’s perks), it can go south really fast.

Properly testing any of these things could prevent so much of the nonsense. These devs rush everything.
They originally said that matchmaking changes would be going live at the end of June, I think? And that came and went and MMR only went live on Xbox at first. I don’t think they rushed into it, people have been clamouring for matchmaking changes since the devs first mentioned it and I think they just ran into some unexpected problems.
-
I never used to bother, but when MMR went live I started checking for hours played.

Don't complain about mori's, then. But I personally don't like a trial to be artificially shortened, and nor do most people in DbD.
I wouldn’t describe a killer using a mori as “screwing over” survivors either.

Wow, you really do think the killer is an AI, don't you?
Trying to escape with a key is not screwing the killer over, lmao. Survivors are supposed to try and escape.
-
Funny thing is, if you’d left her to rot on the ground you probably would have been able to find the hatch and key out. And people wonder why there are so many selfish players in solo queue.

Legit, real question. I honestly haven't seen any actual, legitimate answer to this. Essentially 100% of it I've seen so far on the forums is people crying about very specific scenarios and how they got caught while doing it.
I’d say most stuff is balanced. Take an average game of average survivors vs an average killer and there won’t be many glaring issues.
The problem is that there’s such a huge gulf between the strongest stuff and the weakest stuff, and there are still quite a lot of balance outliers. Compare Iri Head Huntress to a Wraith with no add ons, for example - one is much much stronger than the other. Or look at how unbalanced Ormond is. Ebony moris are another big one.
And on the survivor side I’d say the biggest imbalance is their ability to stack stuff. One BNP is no big deal, but if the survivors bring four of them and split up on gens it’s kind of ridiculous the impact they have. Same with keys - one guy using a key to get out is whatever, but having three survivors escape at one gen is stupid.
I do think the devs are doing a pretty good job (lul) with this though, to be fair. The stronger killers are getting toned down and the weaker killers are getting buffed. Busted stuff gets reworked. They know maps can be an issue. The worst stuff gets removed over time.
-
Man, I wish I were one of you guys who never sees Nurse, I face Nurse pretty much every time I play survivor.
I can’t say I’ve noticed a lack of killer diversity either. My recent matches have included Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, but also Clown, Ghostface, Deathslinger, Trapper, Myers and Demo. Maybe I’m just in poopoo MMR.
-
The trap has a fairly wide range. If the survivor sets it off right on the edge of the range and immediately turns and runs away, you won’t be close enough to hit them even if you teleport instantly. I use this trick against Hags quite often if I know where a trap is.
-
The solution is simple. Bring back the pointing teabag.
-
Getting hit through pallets is a latency issue. This could be your internet, the killer’s internet, dedicated servers, or a combination of all three.
Frame rate dropping when hit by SB is an optimisation issue, some people on PC experience this but it depends on hardware. I personally haven’t noticed this on PC.
Low frame rate in general is definitely an issue on console. Some PC players also suffer this, but again it depends on what hardware you have. I used to get 120 FPS consistently until the latest update, but the game’s performance has since tanked for me.
-
Can you post some screenshot examples?
-
He looks Korean to me, I don’t really get it.
Just assume his mother was white or biracial if he doesn’t look “Korean enough” to you, I guess?
-
It would be quicker to list the perks that don’t need buffs, tbh.
-
I think base Spirit is ok but some of her add ons and Stridor make her pretty cheesy.
Freddy would be my pick, personally. I think it would be easy to tune him down with some number tweaks or small changes that would make him less of a pain in the bum without gutting him or changing him too much. The fact that he has strong slow down, anti-loop, map pressure and a load of small bonuses like a confusing lullaby and the ability to ignore BT is just too much, in my opinion.

It really doesn’t take long to do it. Play killer with bbq during a BP event. I maxed at least half my killers during the 4 year event
I totally disagree, I play a decent amount of killer and between BBQ, events, puddings and the tomes I’m still nowhere near P3ing even half the characters.

I started DBD on PS4 in March 2019. By February 2020 I had fifteen P3 killers and seven P3 survivors. February I moved to PC.
I have seventeen P3 killers and six P3 survivors. It’s not too much. Especially with events like the COVID Blood Rush and Anniversary event.
Holy #########. I started over on PC in January and I have like five P1 characters in total... how many hours have you put in to grind that fast?
-
@Pulsar said:
Both need changes imo.
BT is overtuned. I only ever see it used to facilitate unsafe unhooks, generally right after a Killer has turned and begun walking away. This puts the Killer into a no-win scenario. He either chases the unhooker, who leads him on a minute long chase or he chases the unhooked guy, who leads him on a 30 second chase, then hits him with DS.
DS needs to not count down when you are being chased. DS needs to deactivate when you are 50% healed, work on a gen for 15 seconds, in the EndGame (specifically when the gates are opened) and it MUST deactivate when another Survivor is hooked.
I don’t think I’ve ever been in a match on either side where insta saves have done anything except completely screw the survivors, BT or not. I hate survivors that do this when I’m playing survivor, and I love survivors that do this when I’m playing killer. You don’t even need to look for your next chase, it’s right there. And if you wait out the BT you can slug the saved for more pressure. Insta save survivors are throwing the game more often than not.
-
People actually dc if a Pig doesn’t let them boop? Every time I think I’ve heard the dumbest reason people dc, I’m always surprised by something even more dumb.
-
Do I think he should be nerfed? Yes.
Do I think he will be nerfed? No.
-
Reporting someone for toxicity (actual toxicity, not “they teabagged” or “they shook their head”) is a pain in the ass and then when you do report it, they just ignore your report. I have a report that’s been outstanding for a month, it includes video evidence and it’s gone completely ignored.
This is why people feel empowered to be complete #########. There’s no punishment. They can call you horrible slurs, sandbag you, and go out of their way to ruin your experience and get absolutely no consequences for it.
-
Small pp killer build is multiple slowdown perks, like Pop+Corrupt+Thana. Micro pp if it’s run on Freddy.
-
Why would you even care? If one person escapes through hatch then the match clearly wasn’t ez and they’re just being a little #########, who cares.
-
Noooo I love Myers, a rework is unnecessary. He just needs updating and some buffs to make his early game a little less punishing.
-
Nope, and you’ll probably enjoy the game more if you relax and accept that sometimes you’ll lose and it’s okay. I definitely started enjoying killer more once I became okay with my losses. :)
I’ve played against streamers who routinely 4K and escaped, it doesn’t mean they’re not better than me lmao, this game is just too RNG dependent to easily judge the skill of another person based on one match.
-
If you bring the flashlight in with you, drop it on the ground when you spawn in and then pick it up again. This has fixed the issue for me every time I’ve done it. Try it, you’ll notice the off-centre beam at first and then after you drop it and pick it back up you’ll notice the beam is centered again.
-
I like Plague and think she’s good and strong. She’ll never be top tier though in my opinion because she has no mobility, and her power is controlled by survivors and/or RNG.
If you get a lucky pool spawn you can end the match insanely fast. But you won’t get that most of the time. On a big or awkward map your corrupted pool(s) will spawn in the corner and you’ll never have time to grab it, so if the survivors are smart with when and where they cleanse you’ll be an easily loopable M1 killer.
I agree that she’s underestimated by a lot of people. But I think she has too many weaknesses to ever be among the best.
-
@Elena said:
Surely if this No Mither exploit was a thing, you'd see popular streamers and fog whisperers complaining about it, however I have yet to see such complaints.
Nah it’s definitely a thing, it’s just not that mainstream yet so you don’t see many people doing it, thankfully. It’ll probably grow in popularity once more people learn how easy it is to do.
-
I don’t think this would be enough tbh. Making him 110% would help but I mean, Spirit is strong at 110% and he’d still be way better than her. Maybe make him 105%? He does slow down survivors with his bottles so I think this would be a fair and balanced nerf.

This doesn't sound like a bad idea but I fear it could turn the forums into a sort of echo chamber where you blacklist anyone who doesn't agree with you.
Yeah, if it was an unlimited list it could certainly turn out that way. If it was limited to like 5 people it would probably be okay.
-
I wish we could blacklist certain posters as well, like just never see their posts or comments. There are some people who just post rude and non-constructive stuff that I’d be happy to mute.
-
More sound bugs:
- Survivors not making puking sounds when fully infected by Plague
- Survivors being completely silent on the ground
- Survivors panting like they’re running while channelling actions (healing, cleansing totems, etc.)

Everyone just assumes everyone is a swf; so many times I’ve been messaged nice swf swf carry I’m like I’m a solo player dude get good LOL
I once had a killer be like “nice genrushing SWF” when all four survivors were running Kindred lmao. It’s just a convenient excuse for a lot of people.

People call Spine Chill and STBFL crutch perks? Lol.

I never said I could carry rank 20s. When I see that my team is playing like potatoes I stop playing like escaping is possible. I don’t know how you made that leap in logic. my expectations effect my enjoyment of the match, I’m not sour when we get steamrolled.
It wasn’t a leap in logic. This post was made in reference to the new matchmaking, which forces solo survivors to play with babies. Whatever build you want to run won’t help with that.
-
@53nation said:
I haven't played since the mmr update, but I think I'm just gonna run around with some sort of anti potato build.
Maybe borrowed time and detective's hunch and just give up on escaping. At least I'll get a decent score with these perks.. (I still have cakes.. oy)
It doesn’t matter what build you run unfortunately. I have Kindred on every match and I’m still being left to die on first hook because my team mates are so inexperienced.

The most obvious thing you will see when the new system is active is that there will be a greater variation of Ranks in a single match. Rank 1s playing Rank 20s? It’s possible, don’t panic when you see this, as Ranks are not a true indicator of a player’s skill and are no longer used for matchmaking.
huh if you did read it. and are upset over this change about ranks. shows your wrong. Because this part clearly says ranks are not not a true indicator of a player’s skill and are no longer used for matchmaking.
So you’re telling me that a base Dwight with 1 hour of playtime has the same skill level in this game as a 3000 hour Billy main? Because these are the kinds of matches I’m getting. Fresh accounts who don’t know how to hit a skill check versus people with thousands of hours. Either the “skill” the MMR system assigns is so wrong it’s criminal, or the system just doesn’t work.

Well I've been playing every day. I can't do more than that lol.
Just keep playing! It’ll get better! Just play more, play 8 hours a day, if you’re not putting in the hours of a full time job do you really deserve a fun game experience?
-
Heeeeeey me too!
This was a fun and extremely balanced match :) :) :)
-
I haven’t seen any improvement at all.
-
Sometimes people get tilted and instead of taking a break from the game like they should, they queue up another match and then something happens that tilts them more (a hit through a window that they feel was unfair, a lag spike, whatever) and they just rage quit because they’re not really thinking about the situation objectively.
The vast majority of the time survivors get three lives, so even if the match starts badly it doesn’t mean it will end badly. I’ve had teammates disconnect or give up on hook and the rest of us then went on to escape, so if they’d just continued with the match they would have been fine. But rage quits don’t come from a place of logical thinking.
If it’s not that then it’s probably just entitlement. “I don’t wanna play against that killer/on this map/etc.” Or it could be legitimate reasons like their smoke alarm just started going off, they have a game breaking bug, the match is lagging beyond reason, whatever.
-
Looping is fun when it’s not “run 3 times around a low wall safe pallet and then drop it”, or “drop unsafe pallet and hold W”. If there’s some kind of prediction and interaction it’s a lot of fun, in fact it’s the only thing in the game worth playing for and why DBD has lasted as long as it has in my opinion.
-
It seemed to be getting marginally better for me yesterday but it’s back to absolute garbage again. I just had a team mate as survivor who has 19 hours played. NINETEEN. This whole system is absolutely pathetic and needs burning to the ground and restarting. It’s godawful.
