  • Seconded it's annoying to end up in one by mistake, could be easily sorted by making them a different key/button press.

"Nerf" >_> Weird way of saying ENDGAME MEGABUFF :D NERF to early game (can hook)

Semi buff to mid game (instant use) Bug buff to end game (especially coordinated SWF)

     ;)

I think those players who have complained about BT at end game can't see the forest for the tree's with this change. Endgame sucks anyways and needs an overhaul It does, BT and DS should not work at end game imo, it gives a killer a reason not to camp and try to get more kills on others. Right now camping is the best option rather than give someone two/three chances.

but if u don't camp bt doesn't activate. how does making it not work at all encourage going for new survivors when u can be 100% sure that unhooked guy goes down in 1 hit. Because DS will still work, its why I mentioned them both, so they get saved, run to the door, you down them, instant DS on pickup (no way to avoid it) chase again, thats not including any body blocks on the way. It will take two hits to hook with DS and three with BT, hence my two/three chance scenario. Or you slug and hope they arent close enough to crawl out in 60 seconds.

your original point was to make them not work at end game so people don't tunnel but that's their exact purpose. I don't get it

Because its not about tunnelling, I never mentioned tunnelling I said camping, why try an go for someone else and let the unhooker basically get a free escape, to go for another person has always been a risk and in most cases you just chase them out, but it was a strat you could still come out with a kill.

In the above scenario you always had a chance to get back to the gates and down the one unhooked before they reached it (not tunneling), with the change they have 60 seconds to get out before you can hook with no actual outplay so why even bother trying for more kills? just camp to guarantee that one kill now.

i wonder why people think this is worse when current ds can be used anytime, you can prevent endgame as killer but early game is inevitable. trying to completely nullify a perk because they were doing their objective is a crazy idea.

The only real change is to the early game, in the mid game it is also a bit stronger hence why its works as such a strong anti tunnel perk it also guarantees it is kept for end game unless a killer eats it.

At end game it is actually stronger than before as there is no strategy a killer can use to prevent them from escaping if they have DS and the gates are opened since its instant for all players.

Tell me how you will prevent that endgame scenario without camping?

don't let it get to endgame. if it comes down to me having to protect the hook to just get 1 or 2 kills im just bored and don't care at that point. 4k or no(k). I know a lot of others don't play like that so thats fine. you're only way to go about that situation is to go for the unhooker. remember you're only in that scenario because you failed to prevent gens being done, and now you're being punished for it. yeah its unlikely you get more than 1 at end game but it's not the only time either side is going through an uphill battle

I was talking primarily about end game, the point being is until the survivors are out of the match the game is not over.

Obviously your goal is to not get to that point, thank you captain obvious, that does not mean you have failed though as its still in play, if you thoughts were the case they may as well just end the game right there and then, the issue is when the game does get to that stage then the perk becomes that much stronger and the chances of you getting them are now heavily reduced, hence why I said CAMPING is your best bet.

Do you get it now? do you undertand why removing BT and DS from end game could mean a killer does not have to camp as they have more options with the possibility of getting more than one, with these two perks in play camping IS the most viable stategy and a lot of players will utilise it and who can blame them!

Good players are not toxic since it's a time waste

There are many thing which wastes your time in this game but by the communities definition of what is toxic anything and everything is.

In the end its best to not run away as a survivor and for killers to not sacrifice them.

I have read it all now :), the level of complaining has reached new heights with this post lol.

Get a good sized cardboard box and cut it so that it fits over your monitor and the edges come far enough out at the side so the sun doesnt hit it or put a blancket over the box and pin or tape it in place so it doesnt fall and cover the screen, when playing pull it over your head.

Cats get sunlight, sunlight doesnt shine on your monitor, problem solved, you are welcome.

I didn't even clean the toilet for 21 days, what makes you think that I will cut out cardboard.

Just for the Lol's take a pic of it, it could become a new meme 8-)

I have opposite experience. Survivor is a lot easier, could be because I'm new with killer. Stuck at rank 5 since few days.

On the other side, as a survivor I can easily get to rank 1 without perks.

Think about how long you have played survvior and as you state you are new to killer how well you think you could do with that same playtime as killer, both sides are easy to get to rank 1 with, good killers can also get to rank 1 with no perks.

Perkless doesnt mean you are good or its easy, the issue is its just very hard to derank in this game, the rank system only comes down to time played on who can reach rank 1.

Some killers and survivors reach rank 1 within 2/3 days of reset.

  • Well that sort of goes against what the PTB is for, each thing needs tested on all maps.

I do agree though that maybe they should limit certain things and drip feed them in over the length of PTB.

  • You dont get anything from it if you dont run an obsession perk even though half the killer obsession perks mean you dont want to punish that player anyway.

Rancor and Dying Light are the goto ones right now to punish a current DS user with how they are designed, that will change with the DS change for Dyling Light anyway.

  • Keys are strongest in SWF groups much like most everything else.

When they can seperate the options of joining via SWF or Solo they may be able to sort something out with how many can leave with a key's use per game depending on how many join as a "team".

  • @NuclearBurrito said:
New DS isn't any better at endgame than current DS.

If you just don't use your DS in the early game then the current DS resolves like new DS but with extra stun time

It is a bit stronger if they know where the gates are, with the old DS you could dribble and while its not a direct counter by any means it meant you could have made it to a hook, now the downed person will be able to use DS instantly upon pickup with an easier skill check.

The stun time with enduring is only 0.57s less not a huge difference.

60s can be a long time when the gates are opened to not want to down someone and hope they cant crawl out when slugged.

  • To be fair keys are hardly used as they are situational of getting to a certain point in the game, if they were able to be used every game you would see them a lot more.

Toolboxes, flashlights and medkits are all stronger in that respect as they aid you in your current situation.

    Agreed.

If you're judging people as toxic for just playing within the rules of the game and using what's allowed, it's  a "you" issue.

You know, you could also play the best [BAD WORD] available decks at MTG, field the best available army in WH40k and ppl would consider you toxic, the difference is in DBD you don't have to suffer from being "that guy" because IRL most of the losers playing survivors will full sweaty tryhard builds would be avoided and maybe sprayed at with a can of Axe.

So anyone who uses the best availiable strats or loadouts in a multiplayer game they are going to be cosidered toxic? that is some weird entitledment from todays gamers right there, using what is in the game to your advantage is what an us v them game is and always has been about, using what the game provides to get what you deem a win is always logical.

Never compare a game to real life, its a game lighten up, insulting people for playing in a way they want and are allowed too within the rules says more about the person doing the insulting than those playing within the rules of the game.

If we'd talk about any competitive game like league sure, this is a game that you'll play during your break or when you have nothing else to do. It's like going full tryhard mode on [BAD WORD] monopoly with looked up strategies on the internet.

That is your way of playing and while I also see it as a more casual game to screw around in and lvl up chars with others dont, others play competatively and go out to do what they need to consider it a win always, no one has the right to say how they should play the game, they bought and paid for something, use what they are given and within the rules, it is their choice.

What you are saying is the same as all the made up survvior rules people laughed at, dont camp, dont tunnel, respect the 4% etc.

  • Both sides have "crybabies", nothing new there, I want or I dont like is I want or I dont like no matter what side you play.

@MandyTalk @Peanits I dont think this thread will ever be a very civil discussion.

Nope. The only way to get your bloodpoints back from all the progress you made is to either have your account hacked, bloodpoint disappearance from a bug, or having the game wipe all your character’s levels and bloodpoints away from a weird glitch.

So I'd have to hack... I'm on Xbox...

No they were saying if your account got hacked by someone else, but what they said wont help anyway as if anyting they stated happened it would all be refunded to the original account and not the new one.

Never hack your own game as it will be banned and you will lose the ability to play it.

There is no way to copy it over to your new account, its either start again or keep playing on the one you started on.

I still fail to see why using things in game which are allowed is classed as toxic, if it's within the rules is just using the loadouts or strats they deem the strongest nothing more.

Toxicity can only happen in the end game chat, anything else is just playing the game and having fun, it may be at someone else's expense but thats life.

Unfortunately both sides fall foul to this, you just have to read these forums to see each side uses strats the other screams is not fair, it's a strange gaming community mentality where if someone plays to win using what they are allowed too they are considered toxic.

5blink Nurse with Mori and 4man SWF with all the goodies both exist in the game.
Its just I dont want to take any part in those extreme cases and so far playing during these hours have worked for me so I'm bit upset and sad that this has been happening 2 days in a row.

That's understandable as it's not a great game to play in but its not toxic, we all have to deal with what the game offers.
  • Can't see much different but my eyes are old lol.

It jusy seems like an evil entity trapped within an urn with chains, runes and symbols of protection so it can't escape.

I've looked for something like this but can't find anything which is bound like this, Jeepers Creepers (Pazuzu) or Tharzudun are similar in some ways but they are probably so far off its laughable.

  • Its happened with every incoming nerf, think about what happened when BNP and Mori's were nerfed to name but two.

Players will use the what they believe is the best version of something while they can it's human nature.
  • Its funny as there were a huge amount of posts in the past asking for the devs to add more survivor stealth play which is rewardable, not long after is when they added Freddy who became the most annoying killer to verse, tedious mechanics and not being able to lose them once you had entered the dream world made him a great killer at tunnelling, still suffers from looping though.

Rng also meant you could spend 50s on a gen without a skill check, unless I play him of course then it seems each person gets one within 5 seconds.

Legion well they are just all round annoying, hit, mend, hit, mend, hit, mend etc doing gens inbetween that is unless the player knows how to walk backwards and end the chase, then it's hit, mend, run, down over and over, it's not engaging it's another tedious mechanic.

Legion is more annoying right now personally but that's probably because I see them more.

  • I never get salt with bubba, I always hook and leave as camping bores me, I generally get a "wow a non camping leatherface thank you, ggwp"

There is always going to be problem with them trying to close the gap between SWF and solo as nothing comes close to what comms gives and it never will unless they make the game show too much info.

Now as a solo player to get the same info as swf you would need the following.

Any survivor within the killers terror radious would need to be shown, once the survivor has sight on the killer the aura would need to be shown to the others.

Pallets used also are a huge amount of info comms can give, used the shack pallet let them know, without seeing what pallets are being used at any given time that gap can't poasibly be closed.

Killer perks, for example a survivor being chased sees a window blocked they tell the others they have bamboozle, recover fast after a stun they have enduring and that's just two how many other perks give them a notification they can relay to the others so in essense solo player would need to know these things too.

That is not even getting into communicating to adapt on the fly to certain things like going down flashlight save ready, gen at x location about to pop, I have another one at 75% etc, I have BT I'll go for the save.

That is just a few examples but as you can see the gap cannot feasibly be closed as it would ruin huge parts of the game when playing solo as you would just know everything making it very boring imo.

It is why my opinion changed from buffing solo to nerfing swf as each change so far has done nothing to close the gap in reality, all it did was dumb down the game and removed the need to be aware.

I see where you are coming from, I know that it's impossible to completely close the gap, but that's not my point. My goal is to close it as much as possible subtle things like who gets chased in the HUD or a totem counter etc. That would already make a huge difference you know

Edit: I personally don't see how nerfing swf would make it balanced. You know why? Because any nerf will be outclassed by the huge advantage of voice communication.
Put 4 no mither perkless swf survivor into a match and as long as they are smart, organised and optimal they will have better results than 4 solos with the strongest perks and addons (at current stage)

Its the fundemantal problem of balance with comms being as strong as they are, the reason they are so strong is in the knowing and how they can make the game go faster, what I mean by Nerf SWF doesnt just mean removing certain things like the addons and offering stacking but also adding more to do, Say its a 4 man SWF, 2 more gens to do, 2 more totems, Killer gets an extra perk etc.

For all the things they have added by way of notifications etc so far it hasnt helped to close the gap at all and at times it has also buffed SWF, its why I think another way may be a better option as thats has been over 16months of trying it this way to no avail.

I am in agreement that comms should never be added into the game as it gives those who do not wish to participate a huge disadvantage, not to mention it gives people more chances to be toxic and troll and with community that is the last thing you ever want to do.

  • There is always going to be problem with them trying to close the gap between SWF and solo as nothing comes close to what comms gives and it never will unless they make the game show too much info.

  • Yes they have really unfun mechanics but it is what it is, people have lodged their opinions and it has been heard, they won't ever be removed but they are going to be reworked at some point but it may be a while away, I just hope they actually understand what is not fun with the killer.
  • Everything becomes less scary over time you as you become desensitized to it.

The only way to make it scary imo is to make survivors really fearful of being sacrificed, that is a problem in itself with this game as its essentially a huge grind to lvl up characters, anything which makes that more difficult is a problem, they would probably have to rework the whole game to be more about avoiding the killer so I don't see that ever happening.
  • No as the game is not being designed for stealth, it has been asked for many times to make stealth more viable and since then the devs have actually added more stealth based killers or anti stealth mechanics.

Think about your post about the P3 Claudette scenario and how boring it was, do you want that to be in every game?

Imagine playing as a killer with no scratch marks in the game with the above ;) that would probably need to be done if the TR was removed, it also heavily buffs swf more over solo players as once one sees the killer they all do.
  • Microsoft and Sony added support for mouse and keyboard but developers also have to allow them to work with  the games.
  • I never bring and item as I'm a hoarder but have been in numerous lobbies where people do.

I never blame them it's part of the game, I always say accept everything that is part of it within the rules.

I used to be in the EU region (UK) and got instant survivor lobbies, I am now in the US and get the same instant lobbies so how queues are long is beyond me, when was the last post of someone complaining about queue times or is that just a wish?

Killer queues are actually longer for me.

I never dodge as I play the game and dont care if I win or lose, it's game afterall why does it bother people so much and scream unfair constantly, if you dont like the current state don't play.

Yes some items need reworked, games could do with taking longer for a portion of the usebase but the matchmaking needs sorted first as some killers can down survivors just as fast as gens can get done.

The problem is highly skilled killers and coordinated swf teams both skew the stats and they are mixed with the lower skilled players.

I truly beleive some players on both sides just think they should be better than they actually are as going by some comments it should be impossible to ever win a game as killer.
  • I do best with Billy/Hag just due to the map pressure but I love playing with Trapper.

    Trapper
Agitation, enduring, brutal strength and deerstalker

    Billy
Enduring, bamboozle, spirit fury and bbq

    Leatherface
Bbq, enduring, spirit fury and Franklin's

    Hag
Ruin, monitor and abuse, brutal strength and make your choice.
  • Has your friend played since the reset on the 13th?

Could be a bug of course as nothing has been stated to have changed.
  • What's boring for some is exciting for others, they may be relatively new as getting p3 is nothing in this game now compared to before.

People can play however they wish within the rules it's not about what anyone else thinks it's about their enjoyment.
  • I can understand the reasoning of the 60 seconds as it's seems to combat being hook farmed and be Insta downed but I'd say 40 second compensates for this enough.

40 is also enough time to heal up, recover and be picked up, it also means you want to get over to get them before they are rehooked, taking someone off a gen and slowing the game down.

Maybe kindred and knockout could be reworked to also show/hide killers near a slug.
  • Yeah is sounds like your ps plus subscription expired as dbd is a buy once and keep forever game.

You need the ps plus subscription to play any game online and dbd is online only.

The reset is to give players a goal to achieve each month and play killers you may not have levelled up in theory, it's kind of lost it's meaning over time though.
  • From what I have seen ebony mori' s are mainly used for an achievement, daily, what items survivors bring, what happened in the previous games or revenge over a certain player.

They are overpowered but in some cases they need to be, I see it more of a respond to a situation offering, a full decked out set of survivors with toolboxes, flashlights or Insta heals means you need another edge, Franklin's helps but they can go back for the item and in reality it actually only helps you with the particular survivor you are chasing at one time, so the Insta heals in essense.
  • The ranking system should be a top priority I agree, that is if they want it to actually be a ranking system of course, as it seems as of now it's an artificial way to give players something to do achieve until reset.

Maybe a ranking system isn't need at all just a better matchmaking system which bases your game off of hours and skill, skill would have to have a few conditions for each side.

The blood point grind does need looked at, one thing of course to take into consideration that has changed is there is no real need to prestige unless you really want the bloody clothes as there are so many cosmetics now, maybe a simple 4 perks per bloodweb over lvl 30 and you can pick two would help greatly.

The perks are a strange one and people tend to use them which help them the most, in a  game such as this there will always be what is considered the strongest loadouts for each side with slight variations for what some prefer.

How they make others become more used? I don't know if they can as for killer they want things to help find survivors and end chases faster and survivors well they want things to help them escape the killer or give them more chances, adding more of these could make the balance worse.

Maybe they could make it worthwhile to use different loadouts by way of rewards, one idea is to use the daily challenge example, a system which is aimed at using certain perk loadouts in a match which are not meta where you get extra bloodpoints or shards and they reset to guve new ones every hour or two giving players a choice, this may also help with the blood point grind.

  • Survivors tbag, click flashlights, jump over windows/pallets to notify you, killers hit you on the hook, stand over your body spinning or nodding, mori spam, in the end it's a game and if someone does something trying to get to you and if you care enough to post about it well you gave them what they wanted and won.

  • If NOED is such a huge problem it in theory should change the stats of the kill/escape ratio by quite a lot.

So in theory if it is so strong without this perk killers need a lot more buffs.

I think the real issue is the power it has over solo players compared to a coordinated swf, a counters seems logical but it makes all totem perks so much weaker, knowledge is power afterall.

NOED by design isn't a great perk, it does reward failure but right now it's an anti gen rush perk, if they ever add more objectives and can prolong the game then it should no longer be needed but until then it does have a place like it or not.

I have cleansed 4 totems and still it managed to activate, if that happens and someone goes down I just leave, others should do the same, it can only be rewarded if we let it.
  • It may be annoying but it's a tactic to bait you, being camped is annoying but is it only done by 10 year olds? look around to see the type of player who complains about that tactic ;).
  • Clickers are actually not that bad as they tend to follow you while you chase another meaning they are not on gens.

They are just trying to bait you as they are good at looping or like to be chased, use it to your advantage.

A heads up, asking things like this tends to say you took their bait and let them get to you.
  • The question is If they have a toolboxes why not use them?

If it's part of the game and within the rules every item, perk, offering, add-on is fair game.

Sorry it still doesn't fit with her being the Sole Survivor, it feels like it needs to be something to help Laurie survive against a killer who is hunting a group of people down while each of the others is being picked off.

Maybe for each one killed she gains a token, for the first token you vault 25% faster, second token you unhook 50% faster, third token removes the hatch grab mechanic so no more standoff, there is a risk involved as once you are the last one alive even if the hatch has not spawned you are exposed.

I personally do not care at all if it "doesn't fit". Because I made it fit. What I care about is if it's balanced or not.
Saying it "doesn't fit" is completely invalid.

Not really as being the Sole Survivor means you are alone, its a perk which gets stronger as the others are being picked off, the premise of the original idea is sound but the reward for using it is bad.

I don't see that you did make it fit as you changed it from a perk to help when you are the sole survivor into a perk to try and aid someone that has been downed instead.

  • Not really I think they are tryng to make changes so they can add more objectives, they cant prolong the game when gen rush is the only current way to punish someone who camps and tunnels.

Some may stop doing it but other would simply take advantage of it much like most everything that has been added or abusable.
