yeah, which is why should be sold right now by Bhvr to prevent scammers and gave to community an healty market without this "sellers"....no?

    This makes no sense.

The code was exclusive and handed out at an event in China, just because some people who got it decided to list it for a silly amount instead of using it does not mean BHVR should resell it.

This happens with all limited edition items any company sells, take the Nike laceless trainers for example, the old saying applies "a fool and their money are easily parted" if someone want to pay that much for a cosmetic more fool them.

It is not a scam if it's a legit code which is priced stupidly high, a scam would be paying that much and not receiving the item.

It really just sounds like you want the cosmetic and are using this scenario to try and justify to BHVR why they should put an exclusive one off item back into the market.

@twistedmonkey You can't compare these things. Killers dodge lobbies because they don't want to play an unbalanced game. Survivors dc on Legion because they don't want to play an unfun game.

There's a logical fix to lobby dodging: Balance the game so there is no reason to dodge anymore.

Of course I can and I did.

You can make all the excuses you like but nothing changes the fact both acts are about not wanting to play versus something they don't enjoy.

They're not gonna rework the entire concept and power of a killer because the community dislikes them, why do you think Nurse is still OP to this day?

These killers are only good in the hands of killers that can use them, I agree Legion doesn't take that much skill to effectively use, but most Legions I see do everything wrong or most things wrong.

The only reason people hate Legion is because of the Mend, Heal, Mend, Heal, Mend, Heal game of tag you play with him. So why is it though that when I play against him I just mend and heal then never get found again till like 2 gens pass? I think people are just blowing his power out of proportion at this point.

I Think it has more to do with legion countering every mechanic survivors have against all killers except the nurse but unlike her legion doesn't have to use skill or knowledge to predict movements.

A good legion player will follow and get the hit everytime as they basically have the same kit as survivors but run faster.

Jumping windows and pallets are part of the reason he always gets the hit but they would be really weak without that so I am in agreement with the others with the total rework of their power, I feel it is the only thing which would solve the issue.

If they can still ignore the only things survivors have and get cheap hits I can't see it ever being fun to verse them and they can't make it fun nothing will change so it won't really be worth putting in the work to change them at all.

  • The problem is the user base, they want decide what they wish to play versus and if they deem its not fun they will use what they can to get out the game, I dont agree with Dcing it's scummy on the killer and survivors who are left, I don't like the legion either as they are a very tedious killer to verse but I meet so few I deal with it and will do so until they get reworked.

Dcing happens due to survivors not being able to see the killer and that is for good reason but that same reason should also apply to killes that lobby dodge.

    Swf dodge

    Flashlight dodge

    Tool boxes dodge

    Certain clothing dodge

Each one of the above are killers doing the same as those who dc they just use the an option they have of doing it before the match starts.

This is why dcing and dodging both need fixed as each side payed for the game so they should be able to use what they want within the rules.

Timeout those who dc and if someone dodges for anything under a set ping they start to lose the ability to see the survivors and items over time.

  • The thing about the pay only cosmetics is they are a choice, if you wish to support the devs buy them if you feel them not worth the money don't.

Cosmetic's are not needed to play the game, imo anything that is not essential to gameplay is never over priced.

  • The ranking has always been about just getting the achievement if you wanted it, once you get that what is the point anymore.

The rank system as it is is broken and now even more so by making it harder all it does is makes it easier for those who wish to derank to not pip.

I would rather they seperated the rank system from match making entirely and left ranking as it currently is for those that wish to do it each month.

  • The hatch is meant to be a reward for doing better than the other survivors not failure.

The concept is to end the game quicker and also around solo play as with the latter you are not punished when you played well if some random person doesn't .

I do understand your point, we don't want to force survivors down a single path since it can get tedious. However, what I'm saying to you is that, when you are sick you have two choices: Cure yourself or don't cure yourself. Curing yourself gives the killer her upgrade while not curing yourself makes you weak but gives you time to work on generators. With the legion and sloppy butcher killers, we often pick the choice to stay weak and rush generators because it's the most efficient strategy. Now, against the Plague, that choice in staying broken is now more enticing because you are also denying the killer her power upgrade. Staying sick needs a punishment of some sort, preferably a action decrease but just so you not forced to cure yourself immediately, becoming fully sick should take longer. This will still give the survivor a choice on WHEN they should cure themselves.

Thats why I said the issue is with her power, the fact you can make her stronger for a time is why it's a choice and should stay that way.

You cannot punish someone and then think it's giving them a choice as it actually removes that choice and makes it a must do second objective, you would be forcing the usage of that extra power, if you HAVE to cure yourself there is no choice it becomes a matter of when not if.

There are already numerous perks to slow action speed, adding this onto the base kit for a killer who can hit multiple survivors at once isn't a great idea, it can easily become a very slow tedious game which no one wants to play in, a legion 2.0.

Think about it another way, it's the self care nerf a lot of people asked for, she is a one hit down killer in the scenario where they don't heal.

I'll tell you why stealthy play does not belong, and why most people that do it are bad and shouldn't be in red ranks. The only fun thing in this game is the chase, when you get in a chase with the killer you're in a run for your life, what you do now is gonna change the outcome, whether you stay off the ground or whether you eat dirt.

And time and time again i have seen people run UE and they don't know what they are doing, they crouch everywhere and hide and play like cowards, then when they get chased, they don't bother to try and mind-game, they go down in seconds, where as with me i go down usually when 2 gens pop, at least with me i was able to buy my team some time, with the person running UE they didn't do anything worth a damn to distract the killer.

I am not saying that people should play how i want them to play, but when you are sitting there, complaining about how the killer always is able to down you and how you suck at chases, maybe try this, take off UE and put on something else that will help you, i used to be scared when i encountered the killer, but when Windows of Opportunity was released i found running the killer to be extremely easy, my chases lasted longer and i bought my team enough time to get gens done.

Now you tell me who would have a better chance of surviving at red ranks. Someone who has done nothing but crouch around and do nothing but hide and do gens and get out? Doing nothing to distract and buy their team time? Or someone who is willing enough to go out of their way to try and get good at the game and buy their team enough time to get out?

Firstly you just stated what you find fun, the chase, while other may agree it's fun they also may like to evade the killer by using the surroundings getting a thrill at not being caught, see how that is subjective!

Now you are just projecting how you think you are an amazing player, some player prefer to try and juke as looping is not skillful and it can feel cheap but hey if that floats your boat play how you wish.

Using Windows of opportunity doesn't help your case here, I could also say no good red rank player would run that perk it's not needed once you gain a little knowledge of the maps and there are other much more worthwhile perks.

The thing is you don't know what they did without following them around the whole game, they may crouch yes but they may also be valuable to the rest, who do you think did those gens while you looped till 2 gens are left? All you keep saying is they don't deserve to be in those ranks as you think it's not the way to play.

You're not getting the point, why heal when you can rush generators? Why cure yourself when you can still rush generators while sick and deny the killer her upgrade?

By the way, saying git gud is so childish and isn't bring any constructive feedback.

I still don't think you are getting the point either.

Answer the question of why do some survivors not want to heal?

You will probably find the answer is because you either stay weakened and easier to down or make her stronger for a time and be able to down you or someone easier, it's an option where you make yourself weaker regardless.

Its the mechanic that causes this and making you need to always go to a fountain is bad design, the choice needs to remain or it becomes another tedious mechanic just like the legion.

How fun would it be for a game to play out as Found, chased, puked on, goto fountain, do gens rinse and repeat each and everytime, it makes it a very linear gameplay experience.

  • @Detective_Jonathan said:

I just came from a game where a meg was doing nothing but gens and crouching, she didn't even have Urban Evasion on but she crouched everywhere she went, and she was rank 3, i am actually hoping they do something about this, because you shouldn't be able to do just gens and get out, crouch everywhere and still be able to pip, a play-style like that doesn't belong in red ranks. Period, you can argue till your face turn blue, it just isn't fun.

Why does playing stealthy not belong?

Why is your definition of fun more important than that players?

That is the thing with fun is subjective and your way may not be enjoyable for others, you have no right to determine who and what playstyle deserves to be in red ranks, you play however you wish and let others do the same.

This is one example of what is wrong with DBD, it's play my way or else your doing it wrong and are a bad player, it's just a bunch of made up rules.

Does anybody just think we should play a season under the new pipping system and see how it is for a whole season or do we want to break out the pitchforks and torches. We have had numerous complaints about how easy it is to pip and matchmaking. Why not try this and see what happens?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/175/KLVYX8LE6FBK.gif

That does make sense but my only worry with that is history has already shown what happened when they make pipping harder, the match making can take a huge amount of time at certain ranks, I dont know if that is worth the risk as some may not be able to play.

  • @Naiad said:

So many people on this forum jump on posters saying ‘rank means nothing’ ‘it’s easy to get to rank 1 you just have to play enough. Too many potatoes at rank 1 near reset etc. And when devs try to address that it’s now too hard to pip? You can’t have it both ways. The only tweak I could see happening is Iri devout being 8 hooks + 4K.

That video posted the streamer was using a ebony mori and only 3k. So he didn’t get enough hooks for his iri devout and only got silver for the 3k. Which also means he didn’t get a lot of hits in and lost out on Malicious emblem. He never kicked a gen, so he lost out on gatekeeper emblem. Using this mori basically made him depip. Since killers insist it’s impossible to use mori’s every game anyway this shouldn’t be that common right? In normal gameplay where you’re hooking and chasing more should be easier to safety pip/pip. I watched another streamer last night that safety pipped most games using moris or survs not saving off hooks.

I’m personally reserving judgement to see how it plays out over a week or so when everyone is settling in to new ranks.

EDIT: there's one more change I would consider. From what I seen some people say the new killers power, i.e puking on someone, isn't counting towards chaser emblem? Does her corrupt power count towards it? If something needs tweaked there it should be.

The reason they say ranks means nothing is not just about how easy it was it is also due to players deraking into green and purple who are much better so overall what rank you play in means nothing.

Making it harder is good but making it this hard means you don't have to derank as you won't pip as much and more than likely depip, the steamers second part of the video they did multi hook in a 9+ min game, 3k'd and depipped, no one should honestly think that is a great change.

The players will no longer be spread over 15 ranks it will end up over 8-10 with this change with red ranks being a ghost town and newer players will find it even harder once out of the newbie zone.

Fix match making so a rank 12 will be ranked with a rank 1 if they are of equal ability, rank is just an acheivement in this game and with deranking possible it shouldn't be part of the match making.

  • Use Haunted grounds or thrill of the hunt.

The problem with hexes are they are meant to be high risk for high reward it's just some arent that great of a reward to risk using them apart from NOED.

Protecting them could make devour hope really strong on good killer players.

There are a few different way the system could be adjusted to function better. However, it’s all more trouble than it’s worth, just dismantling it would be of greater benefit.

It would still need match making to seperate the player base, you should never want new players mixed with vets.

What also then happens to the rank steam achievements should they be removed from everyone as they are no longer available.

If the matchmaking is the overall problem fix that and then leave ranking for a goal to achieve each month.

It's the same thing with Legion, just stay injured and rush generators. Now, the Plague is going to suffer from this as well because survivors will stay injured and rush generators with the benefit of denying her Corrupted Purge.

I know what I'm talking, it's the SAME EXACT thing that's happening with Legion. Do you see it or should use a scenario?

Not quite as the plague is a 115% killer while the legion is 110% so she is better at the M1 game.

Think about corruption as the pigs rbt's it's a second stage power but it's not the main one.

not really, is a team work game they can help u in a chase

Thats the common misconception, it's not a team game it's a 1v1v1v1v1 when solo, you only really help others as it benefits yourself, that is not team play.

  • It would be nice if when swung spikes appeared from it which then dripped blood.

  • @Mr_K said:

As much as people claim rank doesn't mean anything, it does seperate the experienced players from the new players.

It doesn't really, it's always been easy to rank up and all it does is lump less skilled players into the area where it's less casual, that is why a lot of long time players for a more casual experience derank.

The problem is a rank 12 can easily be better than a rank one on either side, someone can stay at that bracket all month and its even easier now with this change so they can get matched more with newer players.

This is why ranking is not really needed anymore but maybe a ladder system instead so you have something to work towards, it's hard to measure what skill is in this game, also making each side do specific things removes options of what you want to do.

A stat based match making system is what is needed Imo which ignores rank completely and tried to pit you versus players of equal ability.

  • When survivor I always play solo, I have 4 perks not 16.

When you are chasing a survivor it's is you versus them, 4v4 in terms of perks.

  • This is why rank doesn't matter, the whole system with 15 tiers is flawed when used for matchmaking, it's also why I beleive they need to rethink the rank system itself and possibly even remove it or use as a ladder system it for montly achievement or reward system.

Remember when the emblems first came out? Survivor was harder to pip and killers complained the red ranks took too long to find a match, they made it easier again due to the match making problems, this was the problem with each side being versus for the system as that is when the deranking actually started.

When it was based on bloodpoints deranking was not an issue, emblems were meant to make the game more diverse with this change it forces players to do certain things to pip, that is not diverse gameplay.

The matchmaking is what is more important to fix and should be seperate imo, someone on the rank of 12 can and should be matched with someone at rank 1 if they are of equal stats, more factors need to come into play to determine how well they overall play.

  • 5 or so seconds, I walk away or jump in, I would rather use my spare time to actually play the game and go on to earn more bloodpoints in the next match.

  • How many players initially thought the Nurse was weak before they got the hang of playing her.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/352394#Comment_352394

That's why I have a compensation category, we can tweak numbers to give survivors more leeway in making their choices. Maybe it doesn't have to be 25% or 50% but maybe a 10% penalty?

I don't think any penalty is an answer personally as if it's only 10% then its 8 seconds so without the new thana it's not really worth it and so running thana could become more of a must removing perk diversity.

The problem with both these killers is you can be damned if you do and damned if you don't, that is the overall problem I think needs fixed so survivors see the worth in healing up.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/352335#Comment_352335

My idea basically prevents survivors from rushing generators while sick, it's the same thing that's happening with Legion because you have no reason to heal.

The survivor can either A, suffer a 25% or 50% action penalty when they are fully sick (broken) or they can remove the debuff while getting insta-healed but at the cost of giving the killer her Corrupted Purge.

As I said you are then forcing a choice by making it more tedious, imagine your numbers with the new thana it would be horrendous so your option is basically make her stronger or sit bored on a gen, is that really and option then?

If you choose to do a fountain you make her stronger with a ranged attack that lasts for a few seconds putting not only you but everyone at risk, her power imo shouldn't be seen as a prolonging measure as its actually a way to shorten chases with the one hit down and as such choosing to be weakened has the same effect as she is a 115% chase killer, it should always be a choice not a necessity.

The problem isnt the strategies employed by the players it's the new mechanics being added as they are not as well thought out enough imo, if legion and her suffer something the other killers don't then the question is why? It shouldn't be fixed by adding band aid monotonous gameplay.

  • Personally I think she needs to be played a lot more before looking at any changes.

The problem with increasing times on action and the cure is it then becomes less fun, if you run thana you already have actions running at a 26% decrease if they decide not heal, increasing the times on the same objectives we have always done is a cheap way to fix something and it will become tedious fast.

The cure also is a fast as in theory it needs to be, increasing that time makes it even less worthwhile, spend 20 seconds getting to the fountain, spend x seconds healing to make the killer stronger when you can stay on a gen and spend around the same time.

Its not the survivors doing anything wrong it's the actual mechanic of the power, the fact thay she becomes stronger makes sense for players not to allow that to happen but you cannot punish players by making something overly tedious for choosing that option.

  • This is getting silly

Leave the rank system alone and use it as a monthly achievement with a reward as the emblem system is highly flawed and has never worked and why it was made so easy in the first place.

This change looks to just make everyone stay in ranks 15-5, red ranks will find it hard to get matched again unless they widen there search making this new system useless.

This is just another easy quick band aid fix that does not solve the overall problem when it is the matchmaking system that needs overhauled, imo it needs to measure more factors like skill, time played (devotion), gens done, saves, kills, length of chases along with others.

Someone with a rank of 14 can easily play versus a rank 1 player no problem, it shouldn't be about a players rank number it should be about stopping players from deranking and playing versus less skilled players on either side, the system needs to change to fix that problem.

  • Yeah I've had that, I have also been stuck in crouch as survivor a couple of times.

  • No legacy was from a time where the players had a bloodweb which could take 10 games just to complete one.

People need to get over a one time cosmetic, it's not just legacy there were many outfits which were exclusive to events also.

Devotion need rewards I agree but they could be tied to auric cell cosmetics instead, you get to pick one outfit piece each time you reach lvl 100.

  • Personally all names and profiles should be removed fron the lobbies, with the report system there really is no need to be able to see them or open them at all and it just promotes more toxicity by making it easy.

Killer profiles were removed for a good reason and I think it has past the point where that is also true for the case of removing survivor names and profiles.

Streamers having the ability to make every name in the game show up like you stated would also be a really good idea.

  • Not all the pc players got the option of legacy, only those who played and had prestiged characters up until the end of November 2016, anyone else after that point has never had the chance and the devs have always said way before console release legacy skins were a one off and would never be available again.

  • P3 Claudette as it like camouflage, because the colours are mixed and in a pattern it breaks her up so her overall shape isn't as visible.

  • It depends on who you play with and what you feel more helpful then.

Check the perks on the wiki from the link below and see what ones suit your playstyle.

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Killers

Personally the legion perks look to be more useful overall but I do like bamboozle the clown perk to shut down jungle gyms.

I would wait to see what the new killer is like to play, in terms of her perks from what we know atm nothing she has looks to be a game changer over what we currently have.

    Unsportsmanlike Conduct

    Botting

    Lag switching

Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT

For both Botting and Lag switching, in-game reports are REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

  • It has always meant the killer is camping don't save since the games release.

Unfortunately some tried to change it to come save me so it has lost a lot of its meaning.

Personally if see someone doing it I will stay on the gen.

  • They removed that option from PC as it was being abused, people were dodging for certain killers and those who camp.

  • It is on the list to fix but it could be a long time, they are trying to find a solution which makes it fair for both sides which isn't as easy as it sounds.

Right now I just let them go as the standoff just wastes time when I could be earning more bloodpoints.

  • Yes as I may be able to get to someone else up or more, it depends on the map and what is around me, I have seen it snowball a few times that way and people escape the match.

Until you get me to the hook the game is still in play and anything is possible.

  • First report them using the in game system and then you can follow it up with the video using the link below.

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • Cutting down on tunnelling and camping prolongs the game.

Look at it this way, the devs want the game to be fun for both sides, they don't want someone being taken out with 1k bloodpoints and having a bad experience.

You should also want longer games as these bring in the possibility of more objectives being added so camping and tunnelling shouldn't be needed.

I see it as future plan so the matches are more engaging for both sides, at least it's not a punishment as they are still giving you a choice.

  • There are very few players that read the forums, just do what you need too and what is the best solution for you, that's your choice.

  • @MhhBurgers said:

That's fine for you if you can do that, how would it impact the game in a negative way if more killers could properly hear survivors since you can hear them without problems anyways? Now your just throwing pointless arguments around, it's not about making the game harder for everyone but I'll bite, if they did make it darker it affects all users not just me so everyone is affected, if they changed flashlights to go back to bright white I can easily look away from the screen as many others can but that change was more about QOL it does nothing to affect overall balance, those arguments are silly frankly and embarrassing to post.

The fact is how much more of an advantage would I get if they allowed what you are asking for? how could it affect the balance of the game? think about that before screaming me me me as it not only affects you it affects everyone, if the vast majority don't have a problem with the sound then the vast majority would get a major buff.

it's okay if doors weigh 30 kilos, some people can't open them but we can't please everybody. Do you know how stupid you sound right now?

I'm not saying show survivors when they're close, I'm saying don't make us turn up the volume to dangerous levels just to be able to play the game without feeling strained out after an hour.

And some people can't open doors at all? Should we remove all doors? Should they all be automatic? What about wheel chairs and steps? Even those real life scenarios don't always give what someone needs, but this is a game not real life and to bring it into the conversation makes you look like you have ran out of arguments.

You accuse the devs of being prejudiced, you think it's a straight forward fix, when someone states something you don't like you refuse listen and throw your word of the week at them.

This just sound like a special snowflake post who is offended at everything that isn't made for every single person on the planet.

You do not have to raise the volume to dangerous levels, I can play around 50% volume with my $50 headset just fine, if you do that then that's on you, doing something which can damage your hearing just to play a game? Who sounds stupid now? No one is making you increase the volume that is a choice and if you chose to do that more fool you.

Not everything is for everyone, a book isn't always in Braille, music isn't designed for the deaf, it is how it is, stop looking for issues that don't exist all because you want something, it's offensive to say the devs are prejudiced just because you don't think something is fair on YOU.

ill just ignore you from now on since you don't seem to get the point and your "ableism is not a real thing" speaks volumes about how you think already.

Why because you can't refute my points? What about blind people? You negate that they cant play the majority of games so by your way of thinking they are all albeist.

I never said ableism isn't a real thing if you cared to read I said this game is not ableist, albeist is being PREJUDICED against someone for having a disability which is far from the case here.

Games are what they are and some mechanics in them are never going to work for everyone it is how it is but it's not prejudiced it's about balance and what could give someone even more of an advantage.

You seem to have an agenda and refuse to see why it's not as straight forward a fix as you think, stamping your feet and all because you feel it should happen rather than see the possible problems if it does.

Why don't you make a game that relies on sight and sound and have it caters to all disabilities out there, deaf, blind, amputees to name but a few and if you can't make it viable for each of them you will out course be albeist yourself.

It seems like this could be your word of the week to use in a few sentences or as others have said it's just bait.

  • Players used to be able to block anyone on PC via steam, check the profile and dodge lobbies.

It was disastrous as if you played in a certain way or with a certain killer you got blocked, same with survivors making games harder to find.

It sounds like a good idea but in practice it didn't work.

Report them, they do work but it needs to be more than just online trash talk and be extreme toxicity like racism or death threats.

But people already are able to hear the friggin Stuff with no problems, you're not giving them an advantage anyways, you are removing an unfair disadvantage. I'm not somebody who thinks integrating ppl at the cost of integrity is the way but giving colourblind mode for example purple scratchmarks would not change the game.

That depends if someone who isn't colour blind could see them easier than the current red.

A fix isn't always straight forward.

The game is not albeist it's just designed around sight and sound, not every game can and will be for everyone.

If any game isn't designed around people who are blind are they also albeist? Don't try to make something into something it isn't.

  • That's cool, unbreakable is like running no perks in most games anyway :D

Try WGLF also as it gives no advantage and simply increases your bloodpoints for each save or hit near a hook up to four, 100% extra points is always nice.

  • If it keeps happening try running unbreakable for a few games and see if you can get the use out of it.

It is boring to be slugged I agree but it's a strat that we have to live with due to the hatch, if it happens too often and you dc each time reaching the unknown limit you will be temp banned.

What a fair chance, people with good headsets can track survivors that people with bad hearing and no headsets can't. Fair.

All that does is allow those with good headsets to track them even easier, giving them even more of an advantage and breaking the balance.

Someone with the best will always have an advantage in any game but it shouldn't be designed so it breaks the balance between the two sides.

Thing is that some of these things would not break balance (like showing survivors a heartbeat visually once the killer's TR becomes bigger) or having a colourblind mode just for the damn skillchecks.

While those certainly help with those two problems sound has many more uses in this game, the killers powers, gen being worked on, saboing a hook, footsteps, locker noises to name but a few sound is so important in this game just as much as sight.

Colour blindness is easily sorted with different colours yes but at the same time what about scratchmarks? Would the new colour be easier too track so everyone would end up using them?

As I said not every game is desinged with these things in mind, maybe the DBD devs just dont want to invest in making everything have a visual option as the market is not big enough or due to the game being based soley on sight and sound, some of those I mentioned being visual could break the game as some of the sounds are directional but you have to listen well to follow them but to make it visual it wouldnt work without seeing where it came from.
