Solidarity really seems overrated. If you want to heal yourself and another player then it takes 32 seconds per person that needs to be healed (yes 16 seconds, but since 2 people are doing it that makes it effectively 32 seconds). So healing both of you takes 64 seconds. With this perk it reduces the time to 48 seconds instead saving 16 seconds. Is that good? Yes. Is that broken or OP? Not at all, it has conditions to activate and the numbers aren't big enough to be considered OP.

Those numbers are for self care not healing others.

Healing another is 16 seconds and while you do it you get to 50% health so if they heal you it then takes 8 seconds so 24s in total.

If you are talking about time they are not on gens also and they both healed via self care then yes it's in theory its 16 seconds time saved only.

  • The thing is not every game is suitable for everyone, you dont need perfect hearing in this game it just helps, you don't need perfect vision but it helps, check out deaf girl gaming she does just fine.

Think about the multitude of games out there and with many your senses give an advantage, not all of them can cater to every single request by how they are designed as that can break the game and be abused by the masses breaking balance.

    It's just how it is.

  • I am not so sure while dark devotion removes the terror radious as it's only useable on the obsession and doesn't activate in dying state, DS users rejoice, swf can easily counter that in many ways by the obsession being stealthy or stay injured, imagine one running OoO giving the position of the killer away and sit in a locker with head on, if tinkerer is any indication the terror radious change won't last too long, may be ok on the game and lery's.

Infectious fright just being a notification is hit or miss, some killers I agree it can be strong in the right circumstances but for the majority it won't make a difference as you can be gone before they arrive, a lot of killers tend to check the area before picking up any way in that respect it makes it easier but I don't think it's strong enough to be used, maybe useful if you see a few flashlights in the lobby but strong enough to stop dodging?

Corruption intervention I can't see being used much either I agree, as others have also said players will just do totems or look for ruin, it's hard to say as the time frame needs to be stated but it's a one use early game perk, once a survivor is found and in a chase they just lead the killer away, it won't do much in the red ranks as we know the gen placements in most maps anyway so can work out way around to them.

Solidarity in theory a good SWF bodyblocking perk as most block then leave to heal up, it seems ok but no where bear strong enough than the current meta as its conditiinal and especially for solo players.

Poised well I won't ever use it and I always play solo, I just don't see it being viable as if you hear a killers heartbeat you will generally be seen if they are not in chase and come towards you, you can walk/crouch with this perk being part if the game now and a killer never knows, I suppose it could be just as useful to not run it in theory.

Head on I see as a direct basement counter, it's useful in some ways but yeah in general more of a Dwight meme perk imo, as always stronger with SWF, I agree it can be used for some strong plays when solo also but I still think it's too conditional to break the meta, end game with an swf member in locker near the gate could be interesting, advises where they are, injured person runs past it, jump out and stun killer.

I think they are a bit underwhelming tbh, too conditional and not meta breaking.

Killer perks well those mechanics are similar in ways already used by other perks but those are rarely used due to others being more helpful.

Survivor ones are not strong enough or useful enough over what we have also.

I think her vomit won't become new madness since it has to hit you directly unlike madness.

All depends on how long it takes for her sickness to reach it's full strenght. If it's too long she may be underpowered if too shor she may actually be overpowered. If devs hit the sweet spot with it we might get killer that grows significantly more powerful as much goes on.

So as always she gets countered by rushing gens xD. As all killers do. From my perspective she seems fun. We'll see how strong she is soon enough.

She can also infect objects I beleive so touching gens? Pallets? Totems? Who knows right now.

Every killer can be countered by gen rush of course but I was referring to those that look for totems, chests, sabo etc instead of doing those you want to gen rush to just end the match.

That is the difference between a fun or tedious killer mechanic.

Personally if I come accross legion I'm out asap, no healing, no totems it's gens and out.

  • It depends on how annoying her power is tbh, right now with the info it reads like a possible madness 2.0.

If that is the case then the idea of making a killer fun and strong sort of goes out the window, madness is not a fun mechanic but it isn't complained about that much as its tolerable because the doc isn't that strong, if it does end up madness 2.0 she could end up on the same boat.

The other thing is the pools, if they make her stronger how weak is she in the beginning? Is this a power that grows to an ok or strong level over time and how long does that take? If her power is overall annoying then gen rushing and getting out is the goto solution just like versus legion.

No point screwing around when you can just leave when she is weak, I am waiting to see how she is of course so I am just speculating.

It's pretty damn cool that this killer can make pallets have a downside tbh...

Can you just go puke on all the pallets?...That'd be cool...

I don't know about that, that may punish loopers but it would also punish those who use pallets for distance to try and juke.

I dont see being punished for using what the game offers as a means of escape a good thing without it having a counter play.

It will all depend on her power and what it does of course.

  • Nothing here that looks that great, the power seems ok but I will wait to see it in operation to see what it actually does, I don't really think another objective on killers is a great idea as it means adding another objective for the overall game is harder to add and balance.

Killer perks are kind of underwhelming, another obssession perk where you really don't want to chase and down them to get the full use hmmmmmmm, it must have a timer though as if its perma as that could end up being OP, we saw what happened when tinkerer was bugged.

Survivor ones also are nothing special, solidarity could be good on SWF but not so much solo.

I can't see anything to really change up the meta with the perks.

    @twistedmonkey

If you end up not using it at all wouldn't the perk be disabled though? Like wouldn’t it be considered a ‘miss’?

It's like the old one you can save it for the last hooking if you like, you have to attempt the skill check, so if you dont attempt it or the timer runs out you can use it later.

  • It will be compained about initially by survivors who refuse to adapt to the first hook condition, once they get used to it they will go quiet and laugh as the nerf wasn't as bad as they thought.

After a while the boards will be flooded again by killers complaining the change is actually worse as they now never know who has it, an increase of people are running running unbreakable so slugging isn't as effective and at end game it's a free escape, oh and BT is OP with it.

  • Ancient Spirits of Evil, transform this decayed form to Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living!

  • @Dspigroach said:

I still say removing the hatch close mechanic was a piss poor decision, if survivors get ds then killers should be able to close hatch that's just fair.

Closing the hatch caused another standoff which still prolonged the game, the hatch is meant to be a way to try and end the game quicker nothing more.

There is no point changing the mechanic to something which doesnt solve the problem due to stubborn people complaining over and over as they want to standing staring at each other.

They are working on the hatch but it needs to be done in a way to end the game quicker and be of equal chance for both sides as that is the definition of balance.

  • The trailer looks amazing, she looks well created I hope they make her fun for both sides.

My only hopes are they dont have tedious mechanic's like the dream world, madness or anything remotely like legion.

  • Well the hatch doesn't close as that was abandoned.

The problem with closing the exit gates are there are times when you stay to help others, there are times where you try to stealth to get out without being seen, a change like this shouldn't hinder legitimate reasons because of those who are toxic so it would need a lot of conditions, maybe too many for it to be worthwhile.

  • If you have a good headset stridor is also good on her as it increases the breathing volume when you cant see them.

  • No, read the devs post on the DS change, they stated NOED is in a good place right now and has many counters and doesnt need changed.

  • Its harder not to rank up with the emblem system.

  • The only problem with breaking pallets is being flashlighted in the animation, would cancelling it when that is happening actually give you an advantage over breaking the pallet and being flashed? would it help with looping as in theory it gives them a lot more loops, there are very few unsafe pallets and most of the time those dont need broken instantly anyway and you do that once they are downed and hooked.

It may seem good on paper but a good survivor would make it a non viable, if you dont break a pallet in a loop spot then be prepare to be looped a lot longer around it.

  • The Nurse is actually one of the best killers for a few reasons, one of the main reasons is a lot of survivors try and play against her like they do with all the rest.

She is a god in the right hands but those can also be some of the most fun game to play in, stealth is your friend to try and not be found, if seen break line of sight fast as they then have to predict movements, dont be the predictable survivor and run to the nearest pallet or window and change directions frequently and never ever try to juke the same way each time as a good nurse will learn your movements fast.

  • Any female survivor is good at stealth, they have smaller bodies, male arms tend to poke out a lot more, just play the one with the darkest clothing and change the hair colour and you are good to go.

  • It sounds like you have a less whiney attitude than the western players thats for sure, you play the game and accept it for what it is and enjoy it.

  • @Eveline said:

Rank means something if you can't reach 1. Even if it's easy.

And I'm not new but maybe you are.

Rank literally means you have played enough nothing more, it is not an indication of skill, I can easily get to red ranks in 3 or 4 days after reset if I have the time.

A little bit of advice, when someone starts to bring rank into a conversation to try and make a point and treating it like it actually matters then they lose credibility, even the most biased of mains from either side on here wont back up that argument.

  • More objectives throughout the game is a better idea overall, punishing the survivors for doing the objective is like the killer hooking someone and being stunned so they can save.

The more you rank up the more objectives there could, the rank system would need to be changed so you cant derank as fast or as easy, this should slow the game down and also mean the killer has more chances to get the kills.

The adverse effect of this is the game could become more mundane as players dont want to screw around as much, they want to do the objective and get out making it more of a rush game than it already is.

DBD is a fun casual game for lots of people so maybe the other solution is to have a actual competative mode? that again may not help as if the player base doesnt chose it those that want it will go back to casual and nothing changes.

Its a really hard one to balance as it can remove some of the fun but I dont think punishing people for getting the gates opened is a good idea, maybe those that wish to camp at this stage isnt that bad as its a choice, it also means the punishment is being caught by the killer at that stage nothing more.

  • I could say the same, crying about something that isn't that big of a problem because you dont know how to deal with it.

Once you get better at killer you will realise how your OP looked.

  • @Eveline said:

They need to insta heal you mean?

Do you feel the need to constantly stamp your feet and post about how something is not fair?

There are many strong things in the game for either side, you know the reason for Body blocking, Insta heals and all the other annoying crap? The fact that camping and tunnelling exists.

It's just unfortunate that the ones who don't do it are the ones who probably suffer more, it's never one side only.

  • What about WGLF? The perk is designed for that it's an intentional strategy.

If someone body blocks they are also not on gens, they need to heal up so think of it as another objective to slow the game down.

  • Friday the 13th franchise box office earnings

While the above link is just the box office revenue you can see domestically it does really well and not far off international, the US generally is the largest country for most movie sales of any country bar a few movies which have really done well in China.

In terms of the profit from the movies that could also be more domestically as I am pretty sure international movies ask for more profit from the actual movie theatres and also you have to take into account what they pay for advertising campaign's in each of those international countries.

There is of course streaming and retail sales profits along with merchandise to consider but I would guess the US also has the largest single market share with those.

  • @Master said:

nope, dont worry about salty survivors

Did you actually read OP? It is the killers who are complaining as they are playing as a survivor.

  • Do you have internet direct to your house or is it an over the air Wi-Fi?

If you have a direct line is it your internet or just the wifi from the router that is bad.

Wi-Fi is generally fine if its strong enough, you can get powerline adapters or Wi-Fi extender kits to increase the signal where your equipment is.

In terms of reports it will also depend on how your ping is in the lobby and if you also contantly teleporting when you are not being chased, another survivor can also record you when spectating.

If you get constantly reported they will look into it further, I don't know if they will do anything but morally if you know your connection is that bad you are ruining the killers playing experience and in essense gaining an unfair advantage.

  • When you deflate someones EGO by sacrificing them sometimes they need to try and make it seem like you were the one who played badly, they may seem to think they can never be beaten.

Some players simply just cant handle the fact that some players are better than them in some matches, maybe its down to the lack of competition in many aspects of growing up nowadays where everyone is special and losing is also winning.

but the lawsuit is not finished with the victory of the miller?

It is finished in the sense Miller won the suit and got the rights to the original film and F13th name in the US, he can make a F13th movie with Jason Vorhees for domestic purposes but he cant use the look of the charcter portrayed in any movie after that first one.

Horror inc can portray the look of the characters after the first one and use the name Jason Vorhees but cannot reference the F13th brand name, unless its for international release.

There are still many obstacles to overcome and make it all come together and tbh it looks like both parties will have to come to some sort of agreement or a worldwide F13th movie Iconic Jason may never come to light, as I said its a mine field and I dont see why anyone would want to get involved with such a mess right now.

The more I read about the situation the more complicated it gets.

    Basically.

Telling players they can’t use a term that someone else made up for what is essentially the same thing is just presumptuous and elitist.

Face camping is whatever a person says it is because it’s a made up term for a game style.

No one is saying it cant be used, we are simply advising the original definition for its use as to not confuse the meaning.

You may call an act whatever you like but any definition can be so broad that sometimes its better to advise and try to keep some coherence rather than have everyone use different terms for same thing, its why a lot of gaming communities have set phrases for certain things, if everyone sings from the same sheet it makes it a lot easier.

  • @Tarvesh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343595#Comment_343595

Does he own the rights to the 2009 reboot? Because if not then you have your loophole right there.

The reboot is not a loophole as the ruling bascially covers making any new content going forward not what was before the lawsuit.

The lawsuit means Horror inc can no longer produce films or new forms of media (games) called F13th in the US, now in theory they could release the iconic character hockey mask look and call it Jason Vorhees chapter but it cant be called or have anything to do with the name F13th.

Miller can make a film using F13th name and Jason Vorhees but not the hockey mask look.

Horror Inc also retained the international rights as the law doesnt apply out of the US so again in theory DBD could make a deal with them to make the character available everywhere apart from in the US and use the name F13th, its a minefield right now

  • @Tarvesh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343587#Comment_343587

I know what it was. And I know what it is now. Definitions change. Clinging to one because it used to be one thing that doesn’t exist anymore and trying to insult people for using a term that can still be applied to the closest act is just elitist and showing that for some reason you cannot allow a made up term’s definition change to fit the new dynamic for some reason.

Where did I insult anyone? you are reaching there, I advised the OP of what the term face camping was and why it is no longer possible.

There is nothing elitist in what I wrote, the actual term was used for a specific act which the community and also the devs reffered too, that act is no longer possible.

It is why when any post referencing face camping comes around people will always advise what the definition actually meant.

The community definition of flapping your arms on the hook always meant the killer is near, what does it mean now?

  • @Niitosky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343460#Comment_343460

but to have it on dbd could not make a deal with the horror inc/director of film? not necessarily with miller

No as Miller technically created Jason Vorhees the character by name and won the case for F13th the first movie, so he in effect owns the rights to everything in that first film.

Now the look of the character may be given to horror inc but if they cant use the name what use is it? it may no longer be F13th or Jason Vorhees.

It seems there is a lot to discuss and I cant see it being straight forward for any party to do something unless they can sit down and sort something out which is mutually beneficial, if it gets split well its possible you may have Miller with F13th Jason Vorhees with no iconic look and then Horro Inc with the Iconic look but no F13th or Jason Vorhees, in theory.

  • @Tarvesh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343558#Comment_343558

And is instead used by people who understand that language is fluid and understand that the meaning has changed to represent the closest version of the act of rwhoch it was coined.

Well the act people use it for now was refered to as hard camping, its more than likely used by people who dont have the knowledge of the past and understand why it was actually referred to as face camping before.

If you ever saw what face camping was you would understand more, you used to be able to stand just inside the body of the survivor literally face to face blocking the unhook prompt, it made it impossible to save, hence the term, you may call it what you like of course but it doesnt change the fact that face camping in this game by its original definition is no longer possible.

  • @Eveline said:

And who took it? Random person on the internet.

No it was a term used since DBD launched by the players and the devs for the act of blocking the hook so the prompt could not appear.

since blocking the prompt itself is no longer possible, the term face camping is no longer used by those who knew what it actually was.

  • Trapper, all traps on the map will be set upon entering the game, I have an ultimate ability where I set them again every so often with a button press, the length of time of the ultimate's cooldown is determined on how many traps need set.

  • Or maybe its always been that way, you just see it more now the DS change is coming.

Its like when you or someone buys a new car, suddenly you see them everythwere when before you never really noticed them.

  • Points mean nothing towards a pip anymore, I have pipped with under 10k points before and not pipped with 15k.

  • @Niitosky said:

among other things, in the first film isn't the killer jason? and so there is no jason with the mask that kills everyone, and so there could not be a collaboration with dbd because he doesn't hold the rights of jason killer, but only of the mother. quite right?

Yeah the iconic Jason look we know of today was created by the horror Inc team so it still has a long way to go.

It looks like Miller got f13th first movie rights, the other problem is the actual Jason Vorhees name as that technically is also a Miller creation.

  • There is still a lot of things to sort out, while Miller owns the rights to f13th he only wrote the script for the first movie.

They still need to sort out the rights to the actual Jason character and his iterations which horror Inc has a huge case for since they created that persona without Miller's involvement.

There is also the case the Miller may only hold the rights in the US as the law he used only applies domestically.

I can see this being sorted out anytime soon, maybe in a few years.

  • The lawsuit was concluded last year with Victor Miller being awarded the rights, horror Inc appealed but recent reports have said they have withdrawn it, that's not to say they wont launch an appeal again at some point.

  • No, I don't personally don't like built in mechanics which randomly punishes one survivor just for joining a match.

Being the obsession I agree should not be desirable but that should beonly for those that choose to become the obsession, not those that get picked at random by a killer using them.

  • I would say atm consoles yes definately but versus pc no.

Right now killers are already considered weak, a pc survivor could easily run one around moreso than pc killers.

If the devs added keyboard and mouse support for consoles well I would then say yes to all.

  • PS4 did have a nat problem a few weeks back, I wonder if it was truly fixed.

It has always been easier to play as survivor rather than killer on consoles, that could be another reason.

On PC I have no problem getting instant lobbies.

  • The F13th devs never got sued they had the rights to make the game from horror Inc who were legally allowed to give it to them at that time.

Victor Miller simply used the law which enables him to reclaim something he was paid for which he originally penned, basically the character of Jason Vorhees, he won and horror Inc appealed, the appeal from horror inc has been withdrawn for now.

    @Niitosky

I would love to see Jason in the game, we have all the other iconic ones so why not? The 13th dlc would be great idea, it's possible Victor Miller could come to an agreement so the devs could add him in some form, that is unless horror Inc reappeal again which could put the rights into limbo for a year or two.

  • I literally came back from a billy game on Crotus Prenn, and i noticed there was two streamers in my game, basically the end result of that game was that i managed to get a 4k and kill all of them, when i went to watch the VOD of the match i noticed that there 3 of them in a SWF group and one random and one of the other streamers accused me of speedhacking and lagswitching, but i noticed that the guy who was streaming wasn't lagging at all, nor did any evidence of hacking showed up.

I noticed this is the second post reference a streamer/s complaining about lag switching in a small time frame.

  • Both in theory but after a good amount of hours in leans more towards fun.

It's a game so it has to be fun and as a horror concept it also has to be scary.

The problem with the scare factor though is over time anything that is scary starts to become less so and nothing will change that, it is what it is.

When you first started playing it was scary, almost everyone will admit that, you never wanted to be seen as a survivor as you didn't yet have the map and mechanic knowledge to get away as easily so you were afraid if being caught.

The only scary things in the game right now are jump scares imo, These hapoen more with Myers and the hag but can with other killers also when trying to mind game and instead running into them.

They could make dying less rewarding so your are fearful of the killers but being fearful is different from being scared.

It's a catch 22 scenario as making something less rewarding in this game for either side with such the huge grind that it is also has the effect of making it also less fun.

I dont really need the one hit kill, I need time to kill all survivors. I only use NOED when I play as Piggy because survivors dont even worry about the RBT, they just Gen Rush. So I use NOED and save RBT for the end game.

Which is my point, to combat certain things doing gens quickly is the best way, NOED helps with that scenario but if the survivors started doing what you said in the OP with those perks how long would it actually add onto the game? Around 1 min probably.

Again be careful what you wish for, right now survivors complain just like they did before, if they ever do adapt like some did then the tide shifts and your strat becomes less viable, then what?

  • You know what will happen if survivors did run those perks and cleansed totems with NOED then being always destroyed.

There would be lots of posts about how NOED is now useless and it needs a buff, it's a never ending cycle.

I don't know if you remember all the posts in the past about camping, there used to be 10 times what they are now and the response was do gens to punish it.

A couple of months later and it's gen rush is getting out of hand, devs do something about it, be careful what you wish for.
