Hey, why is the matchmaking so broken? I'm not a very experienced killer (i'm only rank 12 atm) and all my games i'm going against 1500+ hours survivors. I don't even have 200 hours in this game. Usually there's one green rank survivor (like me) and then 3 red ranks, or 2 red ranks and a high purple. I guess this is because of swf? one red rank survivor queue-ing up with a green rank, but why they have to play against low rank killers? if 2/3 people play swf and 2 of them are red and one green, they should play against a higher rank killer. Isn't this logical?
Probably swfs. I am a rank 4 with over 2K in game, one of my swfs is a rank 2, one is a rank 4, has another rank 9 and one who is rank 16. Last night even have a rank 14 killer...the rank 14 being matched with the 14 obviously. But what if the killer was a rank 4 instead...then not all that fair to the rank 16. Someone is going to get the short end of the stick. I have a smurf account too as a rank 16 and I face killers who are rank 17 and I have 2K in game and them have 60 hours...more times than not that are little better than bots when I play against them. Never going to be perfect especially when you have a wide range of ranks and hours played in swf groups...either the low rank swfs are going to get messed over or the noob killer is.

For me, and I think a lot of people, a crazy game where you go for a dumb/risky save and 2-4 people die instead of 1, it was still a much more enjoyable end to the match.
Leaving with people in the hook is never fun, interesting, or satisfying. It's just boring. It's the "smart" play... but it's only smart if you care way too much about 5K BP.
If the killer actually chased one guy, hooked him after 5 gens, and then facecamps him with NOED, that means you spent the whole game doing nothing but gens. And now, at the end, presented with an opportunity to actually play the video game and interact with the killer to get your teammate out... you just leave? "No thanks, I had too much excitement from those skill checks and that one time I heard the terror radius a little. Five thousand BP is much too valuable, think of all the thing I could buy with it."
I'd rather have a team of specialists. I don't want to interact with the killer...I don't want to even see the killer. I want to do gens, and heal and unhook if I need to, open the gate, and eventually leave. Let someone loop the guy all game while the rest of us do gens and we all leave alive.

I've seen some truly devious totem locations in the Dead Dog Salon.
I think it was the Asylum map...that or the Game. There was this pile of trash and a bag on its side. The totem was inside the bag...100% obscured from three sides and the open side faced a wall and just a narrow path way between the wall and the bag. Without detective's I would have never found it--it was a dull totem, but it could have easily been NOED at some point. And yes at Dead Dawg too...totems placed inside support structures and impossible to see on three sides and only by luck or perk/add-on would you ever find it.

When I play survivor, which is less and less lately, I hit totems hard. Sucks when I hit 4 totems and NOED still goes off.
Sure does doesn't it...you are thinking what....you three can't do one single totem? But to be sorta fair...I have seem them literally inside bushes, bags, small alcoves behind walls and without help (e.g. detective's) not always the easiest...then sometimes they are sitting out right next to a gen...gotta love RNG.
-
Then abuse them back. They want to play games...return the favor.
-
No!!! The bird is cool.
-
I am a rank 4/5, my other swf is a rank 4/5, but also have a rank 9 and a rank 16 in our group. And as much as I'd love to be on a Seal Team Six composed of two rank 1s and myself and bully killers literally into the ground, overall we aren't that. Last night two of them ran right to the hook as the killer was right behind them and unhooked me--I was downed basically instantly. I play swfs because I like to play with them....it's fun. Now if I can bully a weak killer in the process that is an extra bonus...had a couple of nice two-man key escapes and did a hook right in front of the killer's face last few days...that was indeed fun, but mostly play with people I like to play with. The other night I got downed because we were all talking about South Park and wasn't paying attention at all. I play much more serious and much more toxic as a solo. My swfs are more for fun really...as a solo I am out for blood. And if you hook someone and have to sit in the basement...it makes you a) scum and b) a low skill scrub.

@Warlock_2020 said:
NOED does not need a nerf, it needs a prerequisite. I've seen enough crap killers get 3k because they face camp hook 1, then score two hits after gens pop.
We tell these survivors to hit gens during a camp, but that just feeds NOED at the end. Would like to see a 3 gook minimum (as in 3 different survivors) and NORD spawns even if no dull totem is left after 5 gens.
You guarantee its use and reward the work.
I'd support that but I go after gens with reckless abandon and have the perks to find them. I do 3 and 4 totems a match...wish my other 3s (and it is worse when I am solo) could do just one or two of them so NOED is moot.

Just had a game against a Myers who spent forever trying to get me and did as the last gen popped so he face camped me. I didn't give up because I wanted to buy my team time to open the gates but one came to save me and long story short he got three kills... THREE and he should have gotten ONE HOOK and ONE KILL total.
If you want killers to stop using NOED,then we have to stop rewarding it with this overly altruistic play
If he is camping and especially if he has NOED...yes leave. I played this camping scrub Myers (and is there some rule every Myers has to be total trash?) get me in the basement with insidious. I told my swfs not to come and save me..do gens. The rando tried but okay he didn't know but one of my swfs tried too and he ended up with a 4k, instead of a 1k. Punish trash killers by escaping rather than giving them a 4k...do gens, open the gates and then be toxic as nuclear waste at the exit gate..tbag...flashlight blind, spam him in chat. Go write trash on his profile...whatever...but don't give him a 4k when he doesn't deserve it.

I couldn’t care less about those killers tbh.
i want to play the game for myself and my enjoyment, I would rather have an entertaining game in which I die than only do gens and escape.
this whole taunting others is another reason why this game is unbearable. In many situations.
If a killer plays scummy...oh yeah you can guarantee I am going to be taunting him afterwards.

Waiting all day for a game? I get a game as soon as I press triangle. You must be confusing me with a survivor
If every time you bring in a mori (or an assumed mori) a survivor dodges the lobby you'll be waiting literally forever...or at least until you stop bringing in a mori.

I get as good as I get to reverse the old saying.

There's no post game chat on PS4
Can't speak for PS4 but there sure is in Xbox...you simply send them messages on how you think the game went. Sure they'll all be nice and friendly too.

It's Monday, the start of another week, and it's time to celebrate with mori centered builds. Tonight I'll be rolling into every match with a mori, NOED, franklin's, and the strongest add ons for every killer. This is a great way to have a lot of fun as killer in this game. I think you all should give it a shot too
And what happens when every match they simply avoid the lobby by exiting the game during the loading? Have fun waiting all day for your next game.
-
The answer is...no. Next.
-
Hooks come back nearly instantly. So yes if you are in the right spot at the right time you can kill a hook in front of the killer's face...and when that happens it is funny as hell...but mostly sabo is 100% useless. You can do one gen maybe in 12 seconds if more than one has a toolbox and you are both on the same gen...then what?
-
@Mooks said:
Doing gens in these scenarios might be the best choice if you want to escape. But camping killers make the game so incredible boring, no one wants to just sit on the gens and then escape.
also it would pretty much guarantee to loose also a pip bc you don’t get any helping or chasing points.
Yes no skill scrubs who have to camp make the game unbearable, but what is the better outcome...escape even if you depip or reward the no skill fly larvae a 4k? I am sure most campers don't care about losing BP or rank, but at least if three of you get out you can taunt him mercilessly for being...well trash. I'd not want to let some camping killer think he won and was actually good just so I could get some extra BP. If a killer camps...punish him.

Devs just read survivors comments, killers don't have to discuss. Please read the survivor rules book , so you can understand that the game is ok. Hehe

Not even going to bother reading the entirety of what you just wrote honestly, too much for me. Yes, Gen rushing is a thing. No, it's not the players mentality. I say this as a Killer main who plays Killer all day, everyday. To "win" the game, survivors must escape. They complete the appropriate number of gens needed to escape through the gates or hatch. That is it, nothing else to it. To get MORE points, survivors must conduct acts of boldness, altruism, and survival. Stuff that ISN'T mandatory but is highly encouraged. The more you put in, the more you get out. Yes, in a perfect game, I would love it if Survivors actually did EVERYTHING while in the match. Breaking totems, Searching Chests, healing other players, etc. This prolongs the game and gives me a chance to enjoy myself and possibly win.
It's not a mentality, it's how the game was designed.
I do totems--mostly because I use IS and I find them because I take detective's, I search a chest if I am not brining a key, I heal people when I find them, I unhook people...but at heart I am a gen jockey and I find them (detective's helps here too), do them as fast as I can and find the exit, open it and stay until I am chased out or there is nothing more I can do (if by chance there is rancor or noed or some other foul thing waiting for me...I'll go sooner).

I'm playing killer in these days to do the challenge of tome 2, today I happened 4 games of ######### ... they make me toxic by trolling and debugging me, they have nerfed the charges of the cassettes but no nserve to nothing ######### continue to ruin the game on the killer side making your life hell, I do not pretend to always win by killing everyone, but at least I pretend that you do a clean game where games don't end in 5 seconds! in the last 2 games for the stealing and the outburst I also started to insult them in chat because in my opinion these types of subjects believe that the killer is a nabbo, when I am convinced that these cabbage psychopaths playing hours and hours mentally calculate the tepo away from the window and the animations of the survior and the killer to be able to always sneak away from my shots! is absurd! then when I play survivor the killer always has the hook close and my teammates are always nabbi who don't even make a gen! there is crazy..it will be because i will be italian and we italians are unlucky ... but it is not possible that in a game where the survivors should be afraid and terror, you find yourself being trolled and gen rushing to ######### all the time, and ridiculous RIDICLE! and Dbd is not even a difficult game that you say which keys it takes to learn are only 2 commands in the caper cross yet, as usual there are always rude and uncivilized players who must always ruin the fun of the other players ... I know both these words that I am writing will not help even because I don't think I'm the only one here in this community..toxic who continually complains about the imbalance of the game, as if I were shouting wolf wolf but nobody wants to listen to me .. so I conclude by saying that if it were for me the repair speed of the generators must be slowed down somehow otherwise the killer does not have time to think about a strategy, and on the survivor side the killer must give the surv a minimum of time to be able to play because otherwise being killed immediately is not fun.
Our jobs are pretty much to do gens as fast as we can and to basically make your life hell as a killer and your job is to stop us. Had a game where we had 2 tool boxes and three people on a gen and we literally did that gen in what seemed like 10 seconds. Then we did the second gen in seconds...and then...well we never did another one and we all died. If EVERY GAME is like this for you...well maybe it's you and not the game. Stop your crying.
-
If some loser is camping you do gens and leave. Had a Michael who downed me, took me to the basement, had insidious, stood right next to the chest waiting for someone (he was a rank 8 too)...told the other part of my swf team he was camping do gens. The rando tried to save me...but he didn't know, but so did one of my team members when she should have done a gens and not tried for a hopeless save. So she helped some no skill scrub get a 4k instead of simply a 1k and a depip. Do gens, go to the exit, tbag him, flashlight blind him in the exit, escape, and then flood him in the end game chat. What was the quote from Gunny Highway in Heartbreak Ridge? "Don't give the (blank blank) the satisfaction."

Why do you consider it fun to frustrate someone else? People like you are the reason online gaming is so toxic.
Didn't Matthew himself say what made this game so fun was the frustrating aspect of it? A few days ago...my 4 man SWF was down to 2, my friend knew where the hatch was, I didn't and I had the key. I got hit by the Deathslinger and he chased me. I and my friend jumped through the hatch right in front of his face. I bet he was beyond frustrated...but it gave me a nice warm feeling inside to know that was probably the case. That wasn't the last time I did a 2-man escape with one of my keys either. Am I toxic...I suppose yes, not as toxic as I wish I could become. Not so good with the looping and flashlight blinding all game...but I do what I can.

Were you in a swf? I am a rank 4 and in my swfs we have a rank 16 with us and often see killers in the mid-teens. If you are all solos...guess luck I guess.

@AvisDeene said:
Because it completely negates a killers ability to do their job. Sabotaging is something that should have never been introduced into the game. It is extremely frustrating for a killer to either outplay a survivor in a chase, or even just eventually catch them after getting looped forever only to have the hooks removed right in front of their face.
Imagine if the devs gave killers the ability to completely break down fully powered generators, what would the response to that be? It may not be as severe as that, but the emotion would be similar. Playing killer is stressful enough, add in sabo squads (that know what they’re doing) on top of everything they have to deal with, most would probably stop playing after a bit.
And frustrating is the name of the game. I haven't been able to do it often but it is pure joy to kill a hook right in front of the face of a killer as they tried to hook the survivor. I can just imagine their rage.
-
He isn't all that good at looping really. Basically he is the huntress...only not as good. He is also slow at reloading the chain gun and pretty much slow at everything frankly.

Everybody knows that tunneling is a term that gets thrown around pretty easily in the community. But I want to hear some decent and actual stories of killers focusing on you for the entire match for no reason.
Once I got unhooked and the killer managed to hit the unhooker and started chasing him. All of a sudden its like he changed his programing and did a 180 to chase me. He was a deathslinger that for some reason didnt use his harpoon during the entire chase. By an act of miracle I managed to loop him for a while, and I mean a 4 gen chase. A feng saw what was happening and tried to bodyblock WHILE INJURED and the killer still focused on me for no reason (I had only been hooked once and didnt teabag once in the entire game, teabagging sucks).
Even when he saw an injured player in the middle of nowhere he still went for me despite me being in a strong loop. When he managed to catch me he hooked me in the basemment and when I got unhooked and again he ignored the injured AND DOWNED SURVIVOR next to him and went for me.
Worst part, he was rank 3.
Do you have a confusing story like this as well? A story of someone focusing on screwing you over for no reason? Its like they are pissed at you for something you did
I was doing the "Head On" rift challenge. I run into the killer shack and the killer is somewhere behind me. I get into a locker and there is this Dwight. I want to wait for the killer to come and find me so I can stun him. The Dwight (and why are they always the biggest horse's behinds in the entire game?) started to open and close the door and then as I tried to leave he began to body block me. He was part of a SWF team as they all had "V" at the end of their names. I eventually got downed. The Dwight comes up and does the whole "I am unhooking you, no I'm not, I'm unhooking you, no I'm not routine." Finally he unhooks me at the second stage and I get downed again soon after. I reported the entire SWF and the killer at least reported the Dwight. Nothing was done to them of course. I did send the Dwight and his pals a few choice messages dealing with cashing in life insurance policies.
Another one was another Dwight. Apparently a farming game and I never got the memo. I got downed and the Dwight unhooked me 2 feet from the killer, for downed again, hooked, Dwight standing right there unhooked me, downed again, hooked. Dwight unhooked me again, downed, hooked, dead.

I was at the end of a game as survivor against death slinger and the doors got opened but the killer had a Dwight on his shoulder and I was going to try to get him , the game froze it said that I dc’d and that the killer dc’d . I know I didn’t and I have a hard time believing that the killer did and I got a ban for it. They need to fix this ASAP .
It is really awful when that happens and you get a ban. Apparently you lose connection to the server and the game thinks you dc'ed. Chances are the killer was really still in game. You see a dc sign next to your name and the killer's name and maybe show the remaining survivors had escaped. In reality all those still playing are still playing--except you. Once I was destroying this killer...I had unhooked a bunch of people, was now on my third gen (and it was the last one) and then...boom...loading screen. I would have double pipped. Instead, I lose all my BP and depipped. Beyond frustrating. Can't image how much rage it would cause if I also got a dc time out.
-
According to the clip I saw from Spacecoconut the game is supposed to be frustrating according to Matthew...it is what makes the game so fun. Makes you want to go "grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" and start smashing things. I know that is always fun for me.
-
I can tell you from my own experience (and being com banned 38 times) that they don't really permaban anyone. You'd really have to cross some line that went into actual criminal law violations for them to do that. In the past when it seems an actual person reviewed the reports I'd get com banned for 14 days. Now it seems it is done instantly...they report you, the software checks the "naughty" list to see if the word is on it and if so...banned for 24 hours (it is usually for some odd amount of time like 27 hours and 53 minutes or something but usually they knock off a few hours at the end so you never really serve you whole sentence...just like prison ). So yes I am highly dubious that anyone got permabanned for using racial slurs.

Not awful just a perk for the unskilled who can't get kills any other way. I run detective's and make it my mission to destroy every totem on the map. So pleasing to wipe up all the totems and the killer have noed.

No...they don't, but obviously they do to some killers or maybe their mom's tell them that...I don't know.

Thankfully we don't for now have the trash dedicated servers on Xbox and thus no dc penalties. And for all the crying over dcs I almost never see anyone dc at my rank and even as my smurf (rank 20 killer and rank 15 survivor) I don't really see it. Crashes have been pretty rare as of late, but last summer--one day I was "disconnected from host" over ten times in a row. It was beyond frustrating. Be nice if they fixed the buggy game first over worrying about dc timeouts.

youre kidding right? thats a perk youre talking about. eboni moris activate after first hook. your ploy is to nerf the key. how about you deal with the fact you need work on getting good and stop coming for survivors abilities. i see you killers are coming together again to take away another ability for survivors. theyve nerfed our pink addon, our healing ability, our tool boxes and all they've taken from you is the ruin. again get good, ive played with plenty of killers that get 4ks and close the hatch on survivors. the problem arent the survivors the problem is youre terrible at being a killer
But wait if I am not getting a 4k every time there must be something wrong with the game...broken over powered perks, unfair survivor-sided maps, the devs hate killers you know and do everything they can to make it 100% unfair for us killers. They stay up late into the night just to come up with new ways to make it impossible to play. I don't run DS and have literally never seen that happen but if a survivor were to harass a killer because of DS I'd think it funny as heck.

Don't tunnel and you don't have to worry about DS.

Can instadown a survivor and mori them straight off the hook. Feels totally unfair and uncounterable because you cant use DS or anything. My suggestion to nerf the ebony mori is this: The killer must hook each survivor at least once to be able to start using his moris. To make up for nerfing moris you can also nerf keys and how they can open the hatch early game which seems also completely unfair to me. Thank you for reading my rant lol but I do this this is an issue with balance in the game that you should address.
It can be I suppose, but then again the killer can be trash too. Played a game where this killer mori'ed this Feng. Then didn't get another hook until the end of the game...he downed me and hooked and camped me...no mori and the other two escaped. So for all his trouble he brings in a ebony mori (and devour hope showing how big brain he was) and gets one mori and only a 2K game...and only got 14K in BP. Only person who got less was the poor Feng he tunneled. If Mori's bother you that much you can just ditch the lobby when it is pretty clear he is bringing in a mori.

I am confused now though are you saying you wish you were one of those teams that kind of slightly abuse SWF to the point of being toxic and making people quit the game? I know your name has Toxic in it so I won't be shocked if you say yes. lol =) I just want everyone to have fun. I know that sounds cheesy but I guess that is because I am not toxic and like to see people happy.
Yeah...I'd have no problem being so toxic the killer would throw his console out of the window. No killer cares about my fun, so why should I care anything about a killer...I don't care by the way just so we're clear.

I took a break for a few weeks and came back after rank reset. As a rank 17 killer, I'm still facing red ranked survivors.
Shows how good it is at stopping new players from going against experienced players.
It is possible. If say it was a red rank with say a rank 16 survivor you might get paired with a rank 4 say. Saw a few of those in my swfs last night.

I 100% understand and if I was in the exact same situation I'd do the exact same thing. Doesn't stop me from trash talking the killer though just the same. But I'm not really mad...just playing mind games is all.

Sabo the hook just as the killer was going to hook the survivor...but better one was I was the last survivor...the killer had closed the hatch and he was chasing me and just as he was about to hit and down me used the key to hatch escape. Then there was the one a few weeks ago. I was the last survivor and I hid out near the gate waiting for the killer to close it so I could do my 50/50 gate opening gamble. And about ten minutes later...opened the gate and escaped. He wasn't pleased by that move either.

I am on a weird fence with talking on mics. I agree not everybody on comms is out to destroy the killer but I can understand why killers dislike it. It is a gray area. I understand wanting to play with friends but then being able to give ideas and moves 3 steps ahead can be a bit tough to deal with. I say just play anyway you want but do not be surprised if you get some mad people. I sadly see a TON of toxic players and I play on the dang switch. I have over 1000k hours and am still shocked when I see toxic players.
I wouldn't mind destroying a killer by being on a Seal Team Six, but first I am decent but I am not exactly the type a Team Seal Six would want and second those who I do play with on mic are no better (and perhaps even a bit worse somedays) than I am. But to those sweaty try hard rank 1 survivors on comms and who can loop a killer for twenty minutes, safely unhook a survivor even if the killer is almost touching them, and flashlight blind killers all game long...well played, but unfortunately that's not me.

I guess I do not have that issue because currently what I play on that has not happened. I am not happy with SWF and feel bad for any killer that has to deal with it. I do agree though it probably doesn't happen as often as people say or think but the fact is it does happen. The issue is if they try to let's say extend gen times then solo que will either die. I already have issues where my teammates either don't use perks or just hide the entire game and I have to do 3 or 4 gens solo. I agree they need to somehow combat SWF but its almost impossible sadly and it ruins the game for solo que players. =(
Not every swf is Seal Team Six. Played three hours last night as a swf. Started with me as a 4/5 and another as a 4/5 (no mic), a rank 8 and rank 9. Later again me as a 4/5, the no mic girl as a 4/5 and a rank 16. So I must have played some 12 games or so and after all that I ended up earning a single PIP overall.

I think you are probably right about the kind of killer who also hits hooked survivors. That personally bothers me because I do not bully the killer or survivors so I feel like when a killer does that it is just rude. Also I do not understand why someone would want a always play a game knowing they can get a 4k win. It is just weird. If they want to play a easy mode game there is many other games.
Yeah when a killer hits me on the hook...a Xbox comm ban for me soon follows typically.
