If someone actually knows where you live and could send the police to your house that is one thing. Someone saying I hope you get Covid 19...okay lighten up Francis and grow a spine is what I'd suggest.

A lot of killers, including me, do not enjoy playing against swf. However, how bad is the swf issue? They are 4 types of swf: 1 group of 2 man swf and 2 randoms, 2 groups of 2 man swf, 3 man swf and 4 man swf.
First off, playing with 1 swf buddy is like having the bond perk, but that only has 1/3 of his efficiency due to only being able to see one player. Also, since there is no limit to it, it would be like adding open-handed multiple times (if this perk was balanced, it would be 16 meters instead of 8, so this is how I will base my judgement). Basically it would be like having the bond perk, but with 2 times the open-handed perk (balanced version) with it(64 meters is almost always a guarantee to be able to see your teammate). It would make up for 3 perks for each swf buddy, but since it only works for 1/3 of your teammates, it would be like having 1 extra perk. Since they are 2 mans in a 2 man swf, it would be like adding 2 perks in total for survivors, which is not that big of a deal.
Then, there is a possibility to get 2 groups of 2 man swf. This would basically mean twice as much perks as mentioned in the first paragraph, since they are twice as many players having the same ability. So basically 4 perks in total, which is slightly overpowered(+1 perk for each survivor) but still manageable.
Next, you might face a 3 man swf. In that case, every player in the swf has bond, but the "bond" only works for 2/3 teammates, so at the end I am gonna make a divided by 3 and multiplied by 2 operation. Also, since there is no limit to the "bond", it would be like having 2 times the perk open-handed in a version of the game where this tool is not underwhelming. So in total, that makes for 6 perks (3 players x 3 perks each x 2/3 for not being able to see one teammate). This would mean that in average, each player has one extra perk or two. This is moderately overpowered, if you ask me. Might need a slight nerf.
Finally, you have the 4 man swf group. It would be the same thing as if everyone had bond, but with 2 times a balanced version of open-handed with it(because for swf, there is no limit of communication making it impossible to know what a teammate is doing). So basically it would be like every survivor having 3 perks each: in total, 3 perks x 4 survivors=12 extra perks! This is tremendously overpowered and needs a nerf: 3 extra perks for each survivor is deeply broken.
In conclusion, those were just some stats, its up to you to decide is something is op or not. Discuss everyone!
Depends. Played with two others in my SWFs--me a rank 5/4, the other a 5/4 and no mic, and a rank 16. Three games. Had a tunneling Hag, lost a PIP, had a trash camping Myers, lost a PIP, a Doctor who brings in an Ebony Mori (and he moried three of us and killed the other one on the hook) that earned me a Black Pip. Before this played a number of games with a 3swf and 4swf...earned 3 PIPs--so overall in a swf I earned a single PIP. Most SWFs aren't as powerful as killers imagine them to be. Few are Seal Team Six.

i mean, the emblem system is just absolutely flawed. you basically have to play nice and shoot yourself in your own foot to pip in a lot of cases.
though, you did technically win since you got a 4k. but it really only comes down to what you perceive as a win.
Had two games last night where I escaped both times and didn't PIP. If you play against a bad killer who can't do anything you'll get at best a Black Pip. Works both ways.

How can killer be boosted?
If you have to camp you are a low skill scrub and I suppose he faced a whole gaggle of survivors who didn't know how to treat him...but my point is killers who do that are basically no skill trash as was that rank 8 I faced last night. He didn't really enjoy my well intentioned post action report I sent him...not sure why really.

@Raven9 said:
I usually leave the killer afk, but I can't go down more than 16. I am sure they stated this update, but is there any really logical explanation? I can't rank 20, is there any really logical reason?
You could say create a smurf and then say play the otherside you have no intention of playing just to earn BP. If you want to destroy some poor rank 20 killer as an example...start playing killer...earn BP...then start ranking up your smurf so you'll have some perks, add-ons and items and then you can just wreck some poor sap. Now the downside is as a survivor your team mates will be awful...so it will basically be a 1v1 game and if you get downed expect to be hard camped and no hope your survivor pals will come and save you. As killer, well you'll probably destroy them, but you'll eventually PIP on either side and you'll be back to rank 16...so not sure I see the point really.

How do killer mains ever expect to pip up. If they camp the one survivor they hook before endgame? I get out up against rank 8 or higher killer players and they just watch over you. And to top it all off you always gotta run that Noed to ensure nobidy will even risk the save...the meta is broken asf
Because they are boosted trash...simple answer. Save a few...very few exceptions. Had this trash...yes sorry thin skinned people but he was 100% trash...Michael Myers down me...took me to a basement and just stood there at the chest watching me...he also had insidious. Was on coms so could tell the other two I was with he was camping and do gens. The one not on comms tried to save me...he got hit and ran out. He ended the game with 14K...if you're a killer and get only 14K you are absolute trash. I can even get 14k in a game and I am the worst killer in all of DBD. He was a rank 8...obviously a boosted trash rank 8.

16 meters is pretty much nothing and slugging can still be done so yeah, I would have no issue with this.
The problem here is once again (in this case your) "Us vs Them" mindset, we all play the game and hopefully we all play both sides.
I understand staying in the exit area, it buys others time, but I think it would be more interesting for everyone involved if there was a certain risk with it that is currently lacking.
I personally also feel the exit gates should not be able to be 99'nd with on the otherside maybe a slight lengthening of the EGC.
Often its just a lot more fun when its harder, I know this is a concept seemingly lost on many players these days but trust me on it, tense situations is what makes games great.
Of my 83 days in game...maybe 1 is as killer and only reason it is that much is to do dailies for easy BP--like chase someone for 180 seconds, catch 3 survivors in a bear trap...something like that and for me...it is "us vs them."

How about an HIV fest? or a Cancer Challenge?
Jeez... you really need a BP event to be a good citizen?
I like my Corona in bottles usually and with a lime. How about you? Cancer challenge is that like in late July?

@ZoneDymo said:
If survivors stay in the exit gate area the killer should have the ability to re-lock the gate using the lever making it so that the remaining survivors have to completely open it again and the survivors inside are forced out.
Simple mechanic that I think would make the game a lot better and mroe interesting
And if the killer stays near the hook all hooks within 16 meters instantly break for 60 seconds...then we have a deal.

Yeah, all they seem to do is cater to survivor. The game has to be enjoyable and fun... for them. Who gives a ######### about the killer enjoying the game and having fun though right? And why do people gotta always be so damn toxic? I've been playing matches a deathslinger, Barley got ######### for decent perks, can't move fast, can't insta-down you, have ######### for nap pressure, yet you play me like I'm spirit or Billy. Burn the most toxic map offerings (farm, autohaven, haddonfield)Drop every pallet on me, tbag me, blind me, break my hooks, and gen rush like theres no tomorrow. Why???
Because you are a killer and that is sorta what I have to do. Actually I never blind killers as I have never tried to learn to do flashlights well...but if I could I would. But drop pallets on you and break your hooks...oh yeah...for sure I'll be doing that. Had sabo and a killer (the deathslinger) was carrying the survivor and broke the hook right in front of his face...it was in a word...priceless.
-
"The Nurse is an unfun and boring killer to play now, and when playing the survivor, playing against the reworked nurse feels boring, instead of exciting from the old nurse." Not at all because you can often with an unskilled nurse literally run them into the ground...how is that not fun?
And ruin...killers were constantly crying about how useless it was as good players could do gens anyway and the hex was found in less than 30 seconds anyway and now after the rework...ruin was the only thing that made killers viable and now we'll just have to quit the game. So what is it? Was it trash or a god-tier perk because I am really confused as to which. If you needed ruin to be successful you just weren't all that good.

Not really....no.

Playing this game alone sucks.
1 - They kill themselves on the hook
2 - They keep taking people out in front of the killer
3 - survivors don't know how to make generators
4 - Every time people keep hooking others in the face of the killer
5 - NO ONE MAKES A ######### TOTEM
6 - Leave without help, if you loop the killer 5 generators nobody cares, just go away and you die
Tired of playing this game alone, the community is horrible, selfish and doesn't care about anything. Rare are nice people who come in to play, I don't recommend playing solo survivor, It's too stressful and frustrating, I'm going to stop a little with dead by daylight because I just feel angry playing it and all the time I'm disconnecting and it's tiring, it's already a sign to I stop
It's much better if you have a swf team you can play with. As for me...I only kill myself on the hook to give the hatch, I kill totems with reckless abandon and bring in detective's to make that easier. At heart I am a gen jokey...gens is what I do. I try to not do unsafe hooks...it happens to us all sometimes I guess though. Unless I am the obsession or on my death hook or there is no hope at trying for a rescue, I hang around to see if I can help anyone that needs it...that and to taunt the killer. As a solo had this David King...I found the hatch and he first threw down the pallet and started to vault the thing to bring the nurse to us...when that didn't work he ran inside the gate but didn't leave and waited to the timer to count down so I either had to leave myself through the exit or die. People like that are a waste of oxygen. That said I have had plenty of swfs act like jerkweeds too...not just solos that are idiots and jerks.

It bums me out that Leatherface and Freddy don’t get the cosmetics treatment that Ghost face got even though it was probably part of the deal made for them to be added. But if not, I’m sure there could be some awesome knife gloves and a Robert England type of head gear for ol’ Fred head and leatherface could get his multiple persona’s like the pretty woman outfit. And for original killers it would be awesome to see a deathslinger with robotic attachments like since his leg has that metal thing why not make a whole metal leg? Or maybe for Doctor give him a full plague doc outfit or a cool mummy type out fit for plague and for Huntress maybe a human skull instead of just animals since she’s killed tress passers in her domain before. Just spitting balling ideas out here, a lot of cool things could be added.
Something neon bright like burning orange or bright lemon yellow, preferably a safety hat with a large flashing light with a loud police siren attached.

There is in the game. You click the 👍👎 next to their name at the end of the game and options pop up. I use it all the time to report d/c's. I use to give thumbs up but since I turned off the ability for random to message me I don't want to accidentally thumbs up someone who in reality sends salty messages when they lose.
As far as you reporting their XBL Gamertag then no I doubt Microsoft cares that someone AFK'd in a game.
So that goes to Behaviour then and not XBL? And from what I know reporting dcs is supposed to be useless as they have some automatic system to track those even before the penalties on PC and PS4.

DCING is pointless it's hurts you more than the killer you will get camped in a hook then downed after getting saved once you get put back on just let go end your game with your blood points let the killer think he's good at the game then say well your swf was bombing the hook even though you were doing solos let him get his one kill even better if you get camped hold out for as long as possible make the killer camp you for 2 gens and get his 1 kill his not good but let him keep doing it he's going to wonder why he going to blood 1 web ever 4 games because DCing is going to hurt the other survivors your being camped let them do the gens it's the ultimate L the killer getting gen rushed because he can't play
Then there are survivors DCing because there getting camped they do it because of the killers ad ons perks or the type of killer just because a killer runs devour hope and get 5 stacks look for the totem just because there's a legion get the blood points and get out the game if u lose you got points and it's over if u win more points and it's over and when mikey run tombstone and tuft of hair literally go around the corner it takes 3 gens for him to get to tier 3 just hide and get gens
There's also killer DC's the killer dc is really hard to deal with because if there is a survivor who knows the map well enough you cant catch them so don't continue to chase them go for someone else you can get 3 kills just don't chase the toxic Meg killers also DC because the survivor do something they don't like such as getting there totem get over it stop playing the game surrounded around something so brittle and could ruin everything killers also hate swf yes you know there "he's chasing me go for the save or get the gens"just know and predicted what to do try and tunnel the survivor next to gens so that they can't fully gen rush you and try and notice the swf in the lobby run some overpowers add ons and make them wish they weren't in the game
Lag so bad you spawn and the killer is carrying you, lag so bad you can't even move or move the wiggle bar one inch. One of your "friends" unhooks you 2 feet from the killer, a swf team decides to bully you as the solo survivor, a farming gang is farming and apparently didn't tell you and are healing you over and over as the killer downs you again and again using you as some sort of BP generator, your "friends" decide to do everything under the sun instead of coming to unhook you, a low skilled scrub with insidious hides behind a wall and downs the lot of you in 2 minutes, a low skill scrub decides to slug everyone, you get slugged as the killer hooks the other survivor and you know he has a cypress mori he plans to use on you, you get downed as the second to last survivor and you dc to give the hatch, you get tunneled to death and this will be the second hook and it'll be no different than the first one, you've been tunneled all game, you will no doubt depip anyway and you are on your death hook. You know the killer wants to do something for some type of achievement...rift...daily...whatever...you dc to stop him from getting that done...at least on your watch.
I am sure I could think of a few more.
DC over camping...not on the first hook anyway. DC over tunneling and many of the things I listed above...yes.

AFK can be abused, so the best way to report that kind of behavior is to report them via the in-game report (required). If you want to know more about the rules for the report system you can take a look at this page : https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

I assume that this is on purpose because it's always with wraiths and when wraith is standing still he is completely invisible.
Is this considered normal? grief? Bannable?
Thx for your answers ^^
Happens...do gens, leave. Move on. Had a trapper AFK once. We found him and started doing dances around him until the EGC timer almost went off. Another time there was an AFK killer and as we were dancing around him he came back to life and hit the Bill and eventually hooked him. I had that happen to me once. The Wraith was AFK all game. Once we got all the gens done he came to life and downed someone. I unhooked him and he escaped but I got downed and I was the last one and he downed me...and then boom dead...cypress mori. I was thinking about that too...say a killer parked himself in front of the gate one where there was a hook nearby, he stays afk...or so you think he is AFK and start dancing around him and stuff and he has NOED, Blood Warden, Rancor and a cypress mori. Gate gets powered and then he starts whacking people. Every time I come across such a killer...back of my mind I am thinking this could be a nasty trick.

Yesterday I was playing as the shape on the new map, and these survivors were not expecting me to come up the stairs and I grabbed one off the gen as the other one ran away:) I hooked her then I got to tier 3 pretty quickly as the other one came out from a locker above me to rescue her even though I was still in the area since I knew there was one near by hiding some were. So I ended up hooking him in the basement as I was walking away to head to a gen I just turned around to see if I see anyone nearby the basement and i thought I saw some one there so I went back in the basement no one was there, so as I was heading out that same one that I grabbed off the gen ran right in front of me lol so she got her 2nd hook. Then the other survivors came to the rescue managed to rescue the guy but the other one died before they could get to her lol as I was heading back to the basement I did not know we're they were at the time. But then one of em ran in front of me again lol this one was on first hook:) and I got all 4 survivors and they were high ranks lol. They made so many mistakes :D
Then post game they blamed me for camping basement and tunneling them lol I was way away from the basement I just decided to head back there because I thought I saw a player there . And thats when that survivor ran right in front of me lol.
So I told them you guys made so many mistakes and you tell me that I am camping even though I was far from the basement :) did you not hear the heart beat?

I saw people going down to basement to save teammate from basement bubba.
I saw people crouching across the map when i get downed.
I died by one-hooked despite i did 4 gens alone, with kindred on.
Your experience?
Leave you on the hook? I had a swf as I was trying to do the Headon rift achievement and this Dwight comes up and starts opening the locker over and over. Then as I tried to leave it he body blocks me. I finally get hooked and he comes up and does the whole "I am unhooking you...no I'm not...I'm unhooking you...no I'm not" routine until the second stage began and then he unhooks me and I get hooked again and I die. I and the killer reported him but doubt anything was done. I have had some real good swfs as a solo...one body blocked this tunneling killer on my third hook and allowed me to wiggle free and actually escape the trial and then some are like these jerks...why I say the most brutal killer is the other survivors.
-
I never play killer so can't speak to anything with Demogorgon---who I hardly ever see in any event. I mostly play solo but do have a swf group I play with and 90% of the time have no issues...maybe a few times someone won't be in the lobby for some reason or someone won't see the others as "ready up" and will be searching for a match forever and we'll all have to back out, but it's rare.

Not here to complain about any of the toxic behaviour or gameplay. This is something completely different.
This game has been out for 4 years nearly right? WHY am I getting lobby errors still, but they still adding in more content for people to pay for?
The game is nearly unplayable on Xbox, they even showed how messed up it is by removing the trash dedicated servers (which was 2 weeks ago). Still nothing. I put a lot of time and money into this game...starting to ask myself why now, because ridiculous queue times, lobby errors & now literally can't even load into the game because of a initilization error.
Not to mention the ridiculous frame drops on a Xbox One X...Sloppy Butcher or Noed makes my Xbox want to blow up.
Can I have cross save so i can go play on my PC since that's clearly the only fanbase yous care about. Absolute joke. Never seen a game so poorly developed.
I get a few errors in the lobby but it is not to the degree I'd go crazy over..1..2 times a night maybe. Now this past summer I had days I'd get dropped by the host 10 and 20 times a day, but now things like that are pretty infrequent really. The trash servers are now gone so no longer an issue. At my rank 4 queue times are a bit long...5 minutes or so but at rank 14 nearly instant. All I can say is my experience with DBD on Xbox is different than yours, and you might note if you read either here or the Steam boards crashes and bugs and the like happen just as much on PC.

It's not a horror movie...it's just a game based on horror movies, with Killers based on horror movie Killers, with licensed horror movie Killers, with Survivors placed in a horror movie scenario.
And yes I know if this game wasn't ggez for the Survivor side they wouldn't play cause they don't actually want a challenge. They just come to DbD to take a break from being completely obliterated over in Call of Duty or Fortnite. They know they can no brain this game and get to Rank 1 and feel like they h actually accomplished something.
But you don't want survivors to carry anything into the game--no flashlights, no toolboxes, no keys, no maps, no med kits--and you at least implied not to have any perks either. You just want a bunch of potatoes you can just slaughter left and right...and what this tells me is you are simply not very good at playing killer. Maybe you should try your luck at survivor since it is apparently so easy...maybe you'll have better luck.
-
Slugging is pretty much a low rent tactic, but allowing a survivor to go from dying to injured without some perk would be way OP--aside from perks like No Mither and Unbroken, plus having other survivors who can (and should) come and heal you...yeah way OP.
-
@rickyray101 said:
All because of cry baby killers the tool boxes are useless now. The developers make the game worse every update and yet all that the high rank killers do is camp and tunnel survivors because they suck. Your game is a joke and it's no wonder why players quit matches. The reason why quitting is down is because fewer players are playing because this game is trash now.
To be honest, I don't really see much camping at the higher ranks...sure you get some but it really is rather rare in my experience anyway. Now, at the gray and yellow ranks...they camp like there is no tomorrow because well that don't know any better either that are they are just awful and that is the only way they can actually kill anyone.

Best thing to do is to not allow Survivors to bring in items PERIOD! You come in and have to search a chest to find an item. It makes zero sense as to why they're allowed to bring items in to begin with.

Because 4/5 people in the lobby are there solely for the Killer to kill. Nothing more. I trapped you in my complex so you play by my rules not the other way around. You are literally only there to appease me and my bloodlust.
That's the biggest issue with this game. The Survivors get all the advantages when on reality they should have zero advantages. I've never seen a horror movie where the victims defeat the Killer this easily.
Newsflash Bucky...this ain't no horror movie. If you actually made it like one where 99% of the survivors all died every time you would have ZERO survivors playing this game and where would you be then Paco? I guess playing Roblox. And if all treated this like a horror movie pretty sure you wouldn't really like the outcome. Why do gens? Killer probably likely to be hanging around those to try to kill me...ain't going near there...so instead your best bet is just hide and hide good and hope he goes away....I guess after the 6th hour of so of you looking for the four "do nothing but hide" survivors you'd get just a little bit bored now wouldn't ya?

More low skilled killers needing more crutches to get a 4K...bravo...well played.

So, the past few days, no matter the killer I play, there are always survivors who will avoid all contact with the killer and choose to slam out gens, then leave instantly. I'm on Xbox and I've questioned a few who have, and a couple of responses have been that they can't loop well or they just want to do gens only. But, I'm curious. For people who avoid the killer and decide to play Gen-jocky, are you actually having fun doing that? I don't see how holding a button for 80 seconds per gen and having zero interaction with the killer is in any shape or form fun. I'd like to see what peoples opinions on this is.
100% absolutely. The only time I want to see the killer is when I am at the gate waving goodbye. I mainly go and try to do gens and secondly unhook and heal...and oh yes...totems are on my kill on sight list. And then I go to open the gate and hang around to see if I need to help someone in trouble and then run out as the killer chases me out the door, but ideally...yes...never want to see the killer until then. It rarely works out that way and I'll do my best to escape, but not what I want to do...I want to be stealthy, do gens and then leave.
Now if I am just playing around on my smurf I might run some Benny Hill skit on the killer, but on my main? Never want to see him.

Go get a smurf and start climbing again at rank 20...the fun will come back I promise. You can play like you'd never play if were playing seriously. I did this Benny Hill routine on this low rank Hag...I did die in the game as the timer ran out on me...but it was super fun.

I've had multiple bully squads already. OoO runners, 4 Toolboxes to sabo hooks, the works. One group failed badly, but it still isn't the point. Why play the game if you're just going to act like a immature child on a playground knowing you 'beat' the killer. I get their enjoyment comes from destroying others, but I really don't see why. We're all here to just have fun at the end of the day.
Same reason you get a camping cannibal with insidious who lurks behind a wall and then wipes out the entire four of you--making at least one of you dc to boot--which ends the game in 5 minutes because they are jerks and really when you get down to it stupid as well...think that person pip'ed from that game?

Self-care is hardly a baby perk and isn't comparable to rancor. He should have known he was the obsession and the killer had rancor and got out as soon as the gate was powered though. I will say SC does take forever and Inner strength+detective's is 1000% better than sc. Not sure why anyone would complain about rancor though...you know he has it and you know you are the one with the bullseye on your back.
And not sure about you, but the last reset I went back to the same rank as it has always been. I should have been sent to rank 9 as a rank 6, ended up at rank 12. I'll see this time if I go to rank 5 or back to the way it was and go to rank 11. And as for ruin...it was annoying for sure but hardly something you couldn't power through--had games we didn't find the ruin hex until the 4th gen was done--and typically it would be found before the second was done and very doubtful it could be credited with keeping people from red ranks. It is pretty funny really that before ruin was changed killers kept saying how trash a perk it was as it didn't stop good players from doing gens and the hex was found within 30 seconds anyway and then after the change it was a god perk and the only thing that made playing killer viable.

I had a bully squad yesterday on Ironworks as Deathslinger. I honestly don't understand the reason of going in as a bully squad when a new killer literally came out yesterday. Like, you realize this is the reason all you see at high ranks is Nurse, Freddy, Billy, and Spirit? No one is going to want to play other killers when they know they're going to get bullied for 6 minutes straight and they can't do anything about it. Hopefully survivors go easy on him for the next few weeks, or else by the end of this week it'll probably be back to the same old 4 killers over and over.
At my rank (rank 4) or even my smurf rank (rank 14) I never see the nurse. I see a god awful lot of doctors and spirits though. I see the Wraith and Oni more than I see the nurse.
