yeah but it's extremely annoying to be against 2 blendettes on Mother's Dwelling, doing nothing
without whispers, good luck having fun
My only comment would be they aren't here for your fun, but seriously hiding in a bush all day isn't much fun either. If the game is hopeless I will hide but only in the hopes of prolonging the game so one of us gets the hatch because sooner or later he is going to get one of us.

Yeah I shouldn't have said 10 minutes. That's clearly not bannable. But if you hide with another survivor and not make any gen progress for an hour or more, then it is bannable. There have been discussions on the forums about that. Check them out.
If you can't find one of two of them in an hour there is something wrong with you. Back in the good old days, sure you had a good map you could hide for 40-45 minutes, but now? Highly unlikely two people are going to want to stretch out a game for an hour. Eventually one will get bored and try to do a gen or just want the game to end and want to be found or dc or maybe just maybe the killer will actually find them. In a two-survivor game, I have maybe drawn out a hopeless game for 10 minutes at most. Usually, one of us gets downed or hooked and either one of us then dies or we both do. If any two survivors can manage to hide from a killer for an hour I'd be greatly impressed, but I also think that to have never happened. I can see it back in the old days with one, but not now.

As usual they will be people who play one half of the game and cry about the other side having perks they don't like. It isn't hard to do 5 totems but so many make excuses up about how playing solo makes totems impossible without an on screen counter telling them how many are left on the map etc etc.
Because you are usually playing with people who aren't very competent. Last night. 2-man SWF, plus these two solos. I killed three totems, my friend killed one. NOED still became active and we both died--I was deep inside the exit gate when I got downed (and of course the two solos simply ran out of the gate and didn't even try to unhook me as I was hooked right in front of the gate). I bet you anything both of these boosted survivors ran across the one totem we didn't do. Another time I jumped through the hole in the floor at the Game to that gen on the lower floor..gen done, totem still going strong...and why? The person doing that gen couldn't take a few seconds to kill it after the gen was done? I run Detectives since I run IS and I kill every totem I can. Every game I kill 3 and 4 totems and yet NOED still activates. Well as the old beer ad said "Leon can't do everything."

If you are my last BBQ stack and I've never seen you in all game because you are a sneaky blendette, believe me I'll make whatever I can to find and hook you lol.
And as @Joao_Bandicoot said, be careful with the video you send, because if you haven't made any progress on gens for more than 10 minutes, just hiding and make the killer lose time, maybe who will get banned will be you.
There is no rule against hiding the entire game. Now, you will probably die, make your team mates extremely mad and get almost no BP and probably lose a PIP but it is 100% a legit strategy. Wasting time?????...shocking as this is you can find the survivor you know? If he/she is the last one you can find the hatch and close it starting the EGC, if all gens are done you can open the gate and start the EGC countdown as well. If I get to the point where there is just me and one other and we have 4 or 5 gens to do...it's hide and seek time baby. I'm not going anywhere near a gen and if it takes you ten minutes to find me that's on you.

Oh yeah? Not in my experience. Had a swf team sandbag me as a solo once and all I did was go to the killer shack so I could get my Head ON achievement done at that point I got griefed by this Dwight for the entire game.

I mean, they were terrible teammates and I'd report them. I don't quite understand what the killer did here.
To be honest even this crap wouldn't bother me so much if queue times weren't so long. It's like one game in 50 this really happens to me, but they tend to stand out because it's just such a bad experience.
But getting games like that and then needing to wait forever for the next is terrible.
In this case the killer didn't do anything to be banned in my opinion. He was just playing a normal game, got three jerks and I paid the price. I asked the killer to report the Dwight and he did. Also asked him to report the other two as well as they were obviously from conversations all equally guilty. Not sure if he reported the other two or not--I did, but doubt anyone did anything.
But if the killer was actively working with the survivor then he should be banned. Say the survivor was running some aura reading perk and he would have the killer follow him around to locate and kill every survivor and after the three got killed he then let the survivor escape...find the hatch, do gens and open the gates, whatever. In this case both should be banned.

"Meming" = bullying a killer or making his experience less fun? Your being an ######### because the opposing player chose a particular killer. Just play the game. Use good sportsmanship, and while you don't need to actively care about making the other persons MORE fun, you shouldn't be doing things to actively try to make their game LESS fun.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1141463#Comment_1141463
Giving someone the benefit of the doubt? In any one of those situations - farming, trolling or stupid - the correct response if the ENTIRE group of players hasn't agreed to it, is you kill them. That's your job.
Did you get banned for this? Because I have a feeling you've been doing this quite a bit to actually get banned for it. I rarely see survivors legit trying to farm or work with me as the killer, or maybe its just that I end up killing those fools right away since they're playing stupid.
Had a SWF team where I was the only solo. I needed to do the headon rift thing...stun a killer using Headon. I go into a locker and this Dwight (they all had V at the end of their names so knew they were all SWFs) comes up to the locker I am in and starts opening and closing the door. I try to leave and he body blocks me. I finally get hooked and he then comes up to the hook and does the whole "I am unhooking you...now I'm not...I'm unhooking you.." He finally unhooks me as I get to the second stage. I get downed again eventually and I am dead. I get the killer to report him as I did...in fact I reported the entire SWF team. 100% sure nothing was done.

Hear me out. When a killer is working together with a survivor to kill other survivors, it shouldn't be bannable for the killer, only for the survivor, period.
The killer is just taking advantage of a "not clever" survivor to win the game.
So for example, if that survivor unhooks everyone in front of the killer without BT and the killer decides to focus the unhooked survivors and let the trolling survivor go (because the killer knows he will continue sandbagging other survivors), it should only be bannable for the survivor.
Change my mind.
No they should both be banned but I doubt that ever happens.

UE isnt just about speed though. It's about a much lower profile, being harder to see and using more terrain to block LoS. UE works while you are hurt too, great with Iron Will.
Not saying Fixated isnt good, but calling it just better than UE is incorrect.
Better is all a matter of how you want to play. If you want to move around the map faster to do objectives it is better plus the added bonus of seeing your scratch marks. If you want to sneak around the map more then UE is a bit better and as you pointed out works even if you are hurt.

I would love to use Fixated, I think it's a very good perk, but that uninjured requirement... I hate that.
Get inner strength (and maybe add detective's) and you heal in 6 seconds inside a locker. Can bring in a med kit as a crutch until that first totem.
-
Fixated is much faster. The downside is you have to move while walking and you can be seen easier and then we have those pesky Hag traps too. If you are not injured at tier III, you walk 20% faster, UE tier III you creep around at 100% of walking speed...but it did seem to me at tier III I crept around a little bit faster than walking but could have just been my perception. In theory, walking and UE tier III should be the same. So fixated is a good deal faster.
-
When you play some Red Rank wraith who is on Twitch to impress his 3 followers and you are the last survivor and since the hatch almost always spawns in this same exact place on the Badham and he decides to cloak himself right on top of the hatch to body block it...yeah I am probably not going to be exactly nice to him for doing that.
-
I switched from UE to it. It is great. Use it, inner strength, detective's hunch and balanced landing.

As more chapters release, 'the grind' becomes bigger and bigger, but there is not enough to compensate for me. I'm a newer player who started playing four months ago. That's ~29 million BP to get every perk available on a single survivor, or ~100mil to get each available perk on every killer. While the rift is nice, over the course of two months, it's 4mil BP, which 3% of the total points required to be able to 'finish' the game. When the bloodhunt event was active in January, I felt like the number of BP earned there would even be a fair standard amount.
I'd hope the team considers this and does more on top of the rift to make earning BP easier, whether that's through more post match bonuses, changes to base BP earnings, more frequent bloodhunts or larger rewards for dailies (maybe 1.5x or 2x rewards) - while this grind didn't put myself off playing, I think it can for a lot of new players in the current state. I mainly attribute this personally to the fact I got into and play the game cause the majority of my friends do, as well as maining killer when I started and owning leatherface from my first day playing.
I have about 2K in game and my main (Feng) almost has every perk, but you really don't need to have every perk. Most perks I have I have never even used and it didn't really take me all that long to get Yui to PIII and the perks at tier III I wanted her to have. But yeah if you only play like 2 or 3 hours a week...yeah it might take you awhile to get the perks you want.

DS has been nerfed, what, twice now? It's still the strongest survivor perk in the game. It's literally game breaking since survivors have a whole minute of invincibility, potentially allowing them to gens while injured and otherwise unsafe stuff like that.
There are 2 different ways this affects how killers play.
1) A killer will get 0k-2k because half the time he downed someone, they still had DS and he had to play around it so he left them to chase someone else, allowing them to get healed back to full for free. He ends up 2-hooking everyone as a result and loses. This isn't fun for either side.
2) The killer decides to play by his rules and slugs everybody for the guaranteed 4k. Yes: DS, I think, is responsible for the rise of slugging. Even this strategy has a counter in Unbreakable or even No Mither. But if the killer is good enough, even the Unbreakables won't be able to save the survivors. This isn't fun for either side.
There's quite a few perks on the survivor side that I have a problem with, but DS takes the cake. I think it's on the same level of overpowered as pre-nerf Mettle of Man, but people are used to it so they make an exception. Perks that punish the killer for doing their objective should be destroyed or reworked. But since that won't happen, I'm left with ZERO hope for this game. If I don't enjoy myself when Deathslinger comes out, I'll probably just quit.
Don't tunnel and you don't need to worry about DS and I never use it myself. I always ran it when you could use it anytime you were downed but only got one shot and there was a decent counter to it. It was hilarious to get downed right at the gate and then boom ds and away you go. And no one said it could only be used to stop tunneling. DS is fine as it is.

How did they "make you wait out the egc timer"? I can't really see a way that this is possible. It sounds like you just couldn't escape before it hit or you didn't bother trying to escape.
I think the OP means when killers pull the scummy move of downing you during the EGC and instead of hooking you letting you die right then they just slug you or dribble you all over the place or something and let the EGC timer run out and let the "entity kill you." And yes it is petty and just encourages people to rage on you in the post game.

You should be thankful we lost Ded servers and hope they never ever see the light of day again. I've never seen a lag switch on Xbox
I have. I have 2K hours in game and maybe I have seen it 10 times. It happens rarely but it does happen. I suppose it could be just a coincidence, but you are bulling some killer into the dirt and then all of a sudden a lag storm hits right at the end of the game when you are down to 1 gen and the killer couldn't catch a parked car. Then after he has hooked 3 people and the lag suddenly stops. Yeah...not lag switching at all.

Making all moris only work when survivors are hooked twice ruins the whole point of the mori, though I agree with the hatch opening animation and only opening for one survivor for the keys.
And making it so I can't use a key to escape from the killer as I am being chased ruins the key as well. If you are going to nerf keys, moris get nerfed as well.
-
I don't think either should be reworked really but sure. If you are going to rework one or remove one you should rework or remove both. I don't expect them to remove either though too much effort into their mori animations--I could see say only one person can use a key (no two and three man hatch escapes) and no insta-escape...say there is like a few seconds animation so you can't escape if the killer is 2 feet behind you and in exchange the moris could only be used after hooking the survivor twice.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1137950#Comment_1137950
This comment makes even less sense then the last lol.
Dodging lobbies to avoid Keys and Moris is not a valid option. Also survivors can just hide the key by placing it in a corner or something until the hatch spawns. This is why Franklin's isn't a counter to keys either.
Survivors can also do next to nothing to prevent a Mori other than not getting hooked.
Your first comment implied that you thought Myers add-ons, insta-down powers etc. ruined games. Even if you were being sarcastic you always have to be aware that sarcasm doesn't translate well through text, which is why none of you comments made sense, and this was an absolute waste of time, smooth-brain.
I was being totally sarcastic. Of all the things to be triggered over keys and moris are some of the smallest issues in this game to be upset about.
-
Moris are actually fine just as keys are. And if you really find them so annoying you can always guess the killer is bringing one in and just dodge that game.
-
@thefallenloser said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1133794#Comment_1133794
You're comparing key and Moris which can instantly end the game to killer powers and perks which can be countered.
Once again, your comment makes no sense. Try again.
So hyperbole is an alien concept to you. I was being facetious to the extreme. Keys in fact have counters...you can first off simply dodge the lobby where one appears (just as you can sorta do so with Moris) or tunnel any person who has a key to death. And simply they aren't nearly as big of a problem as whiny killers make them out to be and yes Moris are annoying as hell but the times I have died by Moris are a tiny percentage of the times I have been killed.
So you don't like keys? Great. Get rid of keys but at the same time get rid of the killer closing the hatch and EGC so we can have 1 hour games of people hiding in corners and hatch standoffs again. I like that idea much better than a few people escaping with a key 5% of the time...sure you will agree 100% with me as well--that's sarcasm btw just in case you didn't notice.

Since he described the user name as showing up as a bunch of squares that typically means the user name was not displaying the Hanzi correctly and I said probably I suppose he could have been Russian as well and I am sure you are aware that is a great deal of hacking that comes out of China--the Meg in Puppers "Hacker Off" for example was 100% Chinese and just so you are aware, China isn't a race. If someone said "He is probably American" would that be racist as well? Pretty sure you don't actually understand the accurate definition of that word. Reminds me of the time this poor soul told me that the Chinese were racists because they don't like peasants--a social class is now a race...wow who knew?

Usually if I don't let someone heal me it's because I'm running resilience and want to finish a gen/cleanse a totem first.
If someone's refusing to let you heal them, just assume they have some reason for it and then spend your in-game time doing something else productive. Bothering the teammate to let you heal them will end up doing nothing but annoy them tbh.
I run inner strength and it is faster and generally safer than having someone heal me. If IS is active and I am near a locker I'll often pick healing with IS over being healed by someone.
-
Well thankfully Xbox doesn't have the trash dc penalties...playing against the Spirit. Ran her around for awhile but finally got downed at the killer shack. Ended up in the basement, survivor got down in the basement and didn't unhook me...guess the Spirit was camping and then all of a sudden...loading screen. No BP, no PIPS, lost my item. Then later there was the infinite loading screen...lost a PIP. I assume that would be two Dcs--so why should I be punished for such a broken, buggy, put together with duct tape and chewing gum game?
It also gives incentive for killers to be extra scummy not that they need any incentive to be scummy this takes it to a whole new level knowing you can't escape from some jerkweed.

Franklin's doesn't counter Keys. They can just hide the key until they can use it.
They can but typically they keep the key in game all game. But that is a good idea I might try that sometime just to see how it works...it does defeat the possibility of using it in a chase, maybe hide it until you know the hatch has spawned and of course show the key in lobby at the last second to reduce the chance at Franklin's.
-
@Dannly said:
Keys are pretty much BS. Like survivors play bad -> killer kills 3 of them -> yeah, you can't do gens, so have a totally luck-based mechanic -> killer somehow finds it first -> but has to patrol both exit gates and the hatch, which is well... likely not gonna work.
However, most of the times, it's used to escape with nearly two survivors remaining. They smash the generators, killer manages protect the remaining gens and kilsl two survivors, the other two just go away. Boom. Hatch mechanics.
Regarding Moris, I only use them when there are keys or blendettes. I do agree that they can be very unfair.
Why if I bring in a key (never play Claudette unless it is for a daily but she is a Blendette) I make sure I am standing as another survivor and then jump in with only a second to go so the killer can't do something like bring a mori or Franklin's, etc.

If some GF is a jerk and tbags and hits me on the hook there is a 100% chance he is going to get comments from me he is 100% not going to like, being a jerk is not a reportable offense though.

what? do you go against solos every time? is very commun to see 2 to 3 man escapes if they are SWF because they communicate "EY GUYS I GOTTHE HATCH COME TO THE SHACK, COW LOOP, ETC" it happens a lot. way too often in red ranks.
I am primary a solo player. I do play with a swf (we are purple) and never have we all escaped through the hatch...I doubt we have ever escaped through a hatch at all...not a single one of us and if the killer felt robbed when I escaped as he was chasing me...even better.
-
Not unbalanced against a good killer. Have had games where we finished just a single gen and we all died--we were all purple. If playing against a group of good survivors especially a dedicated swf team with toolboxes and perks and addons, the gens will go by at lightspeed. If the killers and survivors are about the same level, the advantage would probably be on the survivor side, but you don't need to balance the gens based on Red Rank survivors...most people who play this game aren't at the red ranks. You slow the gen speeds you'll make it even more hell for the gray and yellow ranks who already usually get smoked by even the most trash of killers.
-

Solo players can be in a worst position as you don't get information that swfs get without perks and the like--who is the killer, where is the killer, I just got chased off this gen, this gen is nearly done...go run for the exit, the hatch is over by the killer shack, etc, but I have been wiped clean with my four man swf by the killer and at times I have been able to bully a killer right into the ground as a solo. Yes, I'd much rather have a swf team of all red ranks and face some poor sap at rank 17, but it has been very rare that all of us on my swf team (mostly we are all purple) have all lived, because remember swf teams also tend to take extreme risks in order to save their friends when a solo would view self-preservation as the higher goal and just leave...not every swf squad is Seal Team 6, though many killers tend to want us to think that they are.
And one more thing, plenty of swfs are just two people which greatly reduce the effectiveness, not all swfs are 4-man on coms which means they are just basically solos really and sometimes there is a huge difference between the two rank wise...one can be a rank 7 and his friend a rank 20 and the killer is a rank 13 which actually pushes the advantage to the killer. On my smurf account I have a friend who is a rank 20 and we have played a few times as I have been trying to teach him somethings such as having we'll make it when you never unhook anyone or heal anyone is probably not the best perk to use as your only perk slot and since you blow gens left and right why not use technician instead? In none of our games together has he ever survived...this included some trashy rank 19 killer knowing he was new tunneling him into the ground--his only kill btw.

I can't tell you how many times I have closed the hatch and started guarding the gates only to see the survivor just escape. Keys are the survivor equivalent of moris right now.
Hell, it even fits into the lore, like when the killer slams it shut, the lock breaks and can no longer be open.
Another small change I want is kinda simple. You know how in most video games the biggest threat is easily discernible? I literally can never tell when someone has a key, even in the pre-game lobby. Make it like, white or something?
That's all I think keys need.
How bout nooooo.
How about just killing the survivor with the key and then there is Franklin's. So how many times has that been exactly? You can't tell us how many times because you don't know how many times...so I'll tell you myself...not many times at all. It has been a rare thing where I have actually used a key to open the hatch and escape after the hatch has been closed...but the few times I have done it right in front of the killer's face have been very comic. It doesn't happen as often as killers want to believe it does but hey we have to do something to make sure we get that 4K right? If we aren't getting a 4k every time and some survivor with a key (which you can counter) escapes that is just totally unfair and must be stopped at all costs.

Yes it is apparently but only in game which means they are powerless to do anything to you outside of the game--e.g. message to players via Xbox say. Now they can be reported to Xbox though but from personal experience I can tell you the punishments are very light--typically 24 hours long and at most 14 days but I haven't gotten one of the 14 days ones in a long long time.

Que's have not changed. Scratch that. They MM has gotten worse if anything. If was bad before but now its just really bad. Pitting brand new killers to the game against the best the game has to offer has always been the case. This is the experience for most players that pick up the game and play either side.
It's like MS...bugs become features.

If some fool farms me, if it is clear my team mates are all over at the other side of the map and have no intention to come get me, if there are two of us left and I get hooked then I will suicide on the hook.

Depends on the ranks and I obviously can't speak for PC or PS4, but on Xbox at rank 7 I'd don't have to wait much more than 5 minutes, 10 at the most. At rank 16 (my smurf) the load ins are almost instant.

And by fairer you mean matches against people below your skill level that you can stomp easily without putting in much effort? To top it off you achieve this by ruining dozens of games for people who just waited 10+ minutes to get a lobby? Great job! 🙏
I only play as survivor and want to PIP every game, but as for fairness depiping is useless. As a rank 7 yesterday I faced killers at rank 13 and killers at rank 1. If you really want to have fast load ins and want to pound some poor souls get a smurf account so you with 1500 hours can face some rank 20 with 5 hours in. I sometimes play smurf just to practice things I am not good at since they are compared to me not much better than a bot.
