  • People tbag generally cause they're jerks. That's about it. People can make up all kinds of justifications for it about how they're trying to get under the killers skin to get them to play on tilt or that they're trying to get the killers attention to chase them but ultimately the base reason is they're mocking the killer.

But hey, Tbag away dude. Sure it's only a second maybe of you tbagging at the pallet or whatnot but that's an extra second that I don't have to make up anymore when I chase you down. All you've really done is made it so that I don't give you Hatch/Escape at the end of the game if I was feeling generous when the game started.

  • I was getting used to having grea....goo....well, at least generally competent people on my team but for the past few days, I keep getting yellow baby survivors who have no idea what they're doing as teammates.

    It's super!

  • Fun Fact; I actually finally watched Hellraiser (and Candyman) due to the rumors of them joining this game.

Hellraiser 1 was great, Candyman was excellent, and Hellraiser 2 was a'ighti f you were wondering. I stopped at 2 as I heard HR gets dumb after that point.

  • The Entity has such sights to show you

  • It throws off a lot of killers. It had actually always thrown me off until I saw a Twitch streamer do it and I finally realized what had been happening to me...

Now that I know what they actually did, I can pretty reliably get the easy down just doing a quick 180 and lunging

  • Now when I kill someone, I tell them don't worry, The Entity will take care of them now.

...what? Why is everyone looking at me like that?

Fair enough, you don't experience any FPS drops when you enter blood lust?

Nothing at least that I've ever noticed.

It's certainly not impossible that I've had frame rate issues (especially as so many on the board seem to talk about it) and I thought it was lag and/or I lost the survivor not because they pulled a little sneaky on me and got away like I thought but they frame rate yeeted away and I lost track of them :D

    Do you play killer?

As the FPS console is barely noticeable when you play survivor, it's when you play killer is when you notice it.

From my experience, the console FPS is playable, however is it abysmal if you compare it to PC's FPS.

Whenever you get into a tier of blood-lust, you get a frame rate drop. I've lost count the amount of times I've missed a hit because blood lust activated at the worst time.

I main killer. Generally the only time I'm playing survivor is when either

    A. I need rift things to be done

    B. I'm getting my teeth kicked in and I need a break before I chuck my controller into my TV

from my experience its only when playing killer and its the most noticeable when playing that role since its in first person. play hag, plague, doc, or freddy and you will notice it however it only is problematic like once every few matches where it gets so bad frames drop to 10 or 20 for second or two.

I've played all of those killers (except Plague who I do not own) and have never had any of these issues with the frame rate.

  • How do so many console players have all these issues? We're all running the same hardware (I assume at least...) and I've never had these huge frame drops that everyone always complains about on my Xbox...

I can count on one hand the amount of times the game pooped the bed on me and became virtually unplayable (so I guess I can't say I've NEVER had frame rate become an issue but that was clear from the very beginning of the match that something was wrong with the game).

I honestly don't know if I'm in the minority here and my Xbox is just a champ, if I'm the majority but we have nothing to complain about so you don't hear from us, or what...

  • To spite you

No, not general "you". You specifically user Minaaa.

It was put in to spite you

  • I swear The Entity gains perverse pleasure watching their killers not get BBQ & Chill to show up in the Bloodweb. It's the only logical explanation...

  • To be fair to the SoloQ survivor, my people are so used to others making selfish and unsafe saves that get us immediately murdered again that we instinctively bolt away when unhooked :D

So why you making a post about needing to nerf noed then pimp? Just do bones.

...what? I have no idea what "then pimp" means. Is this one of those hot new slangs all the youths are saying nowadays?

Also, I didn't make the post about nerfing NOED. NOED is perfectly fine the way it is. No nerf is required, hence my answer was "Do Bones". You have the power to nerf NOED yourself when you do bones.

  • @TrevorLahey93 said:

    Inb4 "jUsT dO bOnES"

I mean...if it wasn't the correct answer, people would stop saying it

  • I wouldn't quit if they added voice but I have a hard time seeing myself using it.

I don't really need to have some kid screaming about how we need to rush to unhook him when I'm a few seconds away from getting a gen done...

  • That's basically the entire basis of his/her power. Hit you with Feral Frenzy so that you are hit with Deep Cut, then their power causes people within a certain range to have a heart beat on them (revealing where they are at). So he/she runs to them, hits them with Deep Cut, and so on until either everyone has been cut or the powers run out.

  • I really should take more breaks because when this game gets me upset, I generally get REALLY upset (which then makes me play worse, which gets me more upset, which makes me play even worse, which...)

I have now started to play more as killers who are "low tier" guys just because then I know I don't have to have the pressure I put on myself (because who the hell expects The Clown to win a match?). Strangely enough, I have actually found that helps a bit. It probably would be smarter to just turn off the game and not play for a while but no one has ever accused me of being too smart...

  • I have had one person do that to me in the game (and no, I wasn't going after a "recently unhooked survivor". This was a good thirty seconds after they were unhooked, I happen to run into them again).

I do not tunnel when I play this game unless you really piss me off. That person was tunneled and taken out of the game.

There is no tactical reason for you to do it (hell, as others have pointed out, it sounds like it actually hurts you as a survivor to do it in terms of time lost getting away) so it is 1000% only being done to spit on the killer. At least clicky clicks and tbagging I can somewhat understand as you're trying to get the killers attention but there is literally no other reason to DS/Head On a killer but to disrespect them.

So yeah, I hope it was worth it ######### because it is now my mission to take you out. If that's you "winning" because it lets your team get away, so ######### be it to be blunt. Your "win" can keep you warm and fuzzy when you get to go meet The Entity...

  • ...wait, I think we have two different thinkings on this topic based on your response here.

Are you talking about SWF (people who party up and play on the same team)?

I assumed you were talking about premade builds (as in, everyone running the same perks)

  • I mean, I suppose you can rally against "premades" all you want but there are about a dozen worthwhile perks between the survivors and the killers. A LOT of overlap is going to happen whether someone Googled it or whether someone just used the same perk set as a bunch of other people...

  • Yes they should go.

You didn't "dodge" me; you took advantage of a shittastic aim system that loses its damn mind when a survivor spins around like a ballerina.

Yes, there are ways a killer can get around it (primarily by not lunging) but I shouldn't have to waste a few more precious seconds getting close enough on someone's ass that I now owe them breakfast just because the aiming system is so broken...

EDIT: As it has been brought up a few times now, this does seem almost exclusively a console problem, which is what I'm on. I have no idea if this is a problem for PC peeps, though from at least what I've heard, it's not.

  • No Kindred? I feel like I basically have to have Kindred on in order to be even remotely efficient in the game. Too many times when I was going for the adept achievements where I would be a step behind someone else going to the hook from the other direction. With Kindred, I'd have known they were going to make the save and I wouldn't have wasted 20 seconds worth of repair time on a jog.

As a rank 1 killer allow me to assure you that this fairly common and is not at all cause to be alarmed. Killers almost always have a chance to mount a comeback, even when the gens are done and the gates opened.

It's worth remembering that at the start of the match you will have 4 healthy survivors with 7 different gens they could be working on. You'll almost always lose the first 1-2 (or even 3) gens pretty quickly. But as the match continues and you get more and more injures and downs and hooks, survivors will need to spend more and more time rescuing and healing each other. This means less time spent doing gens. And with fewer gens left you'll be spending less time patrolling for survivors and can create map pressure more easily.

Don't get dismayed! Keep your cool and get busy murdering. Win or lose, the rest will sort itself out.

I feel like this post just got completely blown off and it deserves love because it's 100% true.

As a killer, I fully expect 2-3 gens to be done and if I'm on pace, I expect to have one hook done. Anything more than that is just playing with House money. I'd say more on it but then I'd basically just be repeating your exact post so I'm not going to bother :D

  • As a survivor, I will NEVER do toxic #########. I play as killer far more often than survivor so I am well aware of just how incredibly irksome that survivors constantly tbagging and being clickity clicks gets so I won't ever do it.

As a killer, respect earns respect. If you are a good survivor who doesn't go out of their way to use cheap tricks or just be annoying (bodyblocking with BT, tbagging/clickity clicks, etc), I won't ever use "dirty" killer tactics like tunneling/camping. I am also a lot more likely to let the last survivor go (or if you have a team of jerks and you're the lone respectful player, I am far more likely to single you out to be let go as I hunt your teammates to extinction) if you show respect to the killer.

It takes a LOT to piss me off enough that I end up tunneling or camping you out of the game (I don't even camp in EGC when most people agree it's the one time that camping is "allowed"). Believe me (or don't, I don't care :D), if I am ever tunneling/camping you, you 10000000% brought it on yourself.

  • I just ignore survivors at the gate. Too many survivors don't even give you the courtesy of hitting them to give you points when you're giving them chase/escape points so I stopped doing it.

If they want to have a tbag circle jerk at the gate, go nuts. I'm gonna try to see if I can find the hatch or pallets I didn't break and try to get myself a few extra points.

  • I mean...if it's to the point where multiple people are down, they should be ready to just be healed right then and there. If you get to the first survivor with the killer having time to slug a second or a third person and they aren't ready to be healed and picked up immediately, that person has given the game up and you're better off abandoning them.

  • We are One. You cannot escape Us. We will invade your games and convert you to Our ways. Do not be afraid, this is what is best for All. You can run all you'd like but everyone eventually gets turned. It is better this way. Do not fight Us.

ONE OF US. ONE OF US. ONE OF US. ONE OF US.

  • I had a survivor do that to me once.

I tunneled them out of the game for it

Tunneling is not something I like to do but that kind of "######### You" disrespect needed to be punished. It doesn't save you any time or give you any advantage, it just pisses off the killer you're facing.

  • My assumption is it has more to do with the killer RNG spawn spot than it does the survivors. If the killer spawns on one side of the map, the survivors need to spawn far enough away from him to not just get spotted immediately. That eliminates a number of spawn points, giving the survivor RNG spawn spot less spots to work with and therefore more likely for you to spawn with or near someone else.

Now granted, this is all assumption work by me but that would be my guess

  • I'd guess it's on by default because BHVR wants people playing cross platform. Their goal is to get people to play cross platform so why would they default it to off?

  • I've had (almost) zero issues on my standard Xbox One. The only reason I can't say no issues is I've had one game rendered unplayable when I was Demodog on Hawkins and the game just crapped the bed. But it's only happened once so I'm not sure what everyone is talking about when they say playing doctor or whatnot makes their framerate die cause mine is fine and we should have the same exact hardware...

  • Different people have different opinions.

    There's your explanation. You're welcome!

Cheers is a member on our forum who is suffering from cancer.

That makes a lot more sense now.

I thought you were saying Goodbye, Cheers (as in, Goodbye, Have a good time).

I'm unfamiliar off hand who Cheers is but yeah, cancer sucks so hopefully they pull through whatever they're dealing with...

Ahhh, perhaps a bit unrelated, but I had a match yesterday where I hadn't been hooked all game. My teammate was on her second hook and we were against a hag. This hag had hooked her inside a main building and trapped it from all sides while patrolling. One of our other teammates was dead, and I figured the last Claudette was on a gen. We only had one left and I hadn't seen her in a while.

So I'm doing my stealthy thing, trying to figure out a good point to run up and grab her. Hag seemed to be patrolling in a circle, so once she passed again I rushed up preparing to crab walk, only for her to have turned around and I almost ran into her. Took her on a chase, the teammate hooked died, and I was eventually downed. I finally see the Claudette and it looks like she's just hiding by the door, moving about to keep crows from spawning. I tried to unhook myself, no kobe, and since this Claudette seemed like a filthy door camper, I held on all through second phase.

Low and behold, through spectator cam, I see she is stuck on a hill. Crows never spawned, some how, but again she appeared to be constantly trying to move, though I've done that and still had crows. She died to EGC. I couldn't ask her if the killer knew she was stuck there since she was crossplay, but the killer said they had no idea, apologizing, though that's not their fault.

Dev's, please, fix the hill. The next killer is suppose to be the Blight, the Hill was last Chapter. Let the survivor do something.

One of my hiders turned out to be stuck on the hill so I mentally took back all the mean things I mentally thought at them :D

But most I've found are either directly hiding (as in, they pitched a tent and are having s'mores in a locker) or hiding in the corner of the map. There are exceptions like the poor bastard stuck in the hill but I've found they are exactly that; the exceptions, not the rule. It's just been the last like...week so i don't know if I'm just noticing it now and it's always kind of been like this or if I'm getting bad games or what...

  • Yeah, I don't know what it is but lately, I seem to get nothing but players who just hide.

I can loop like a God for once in my pathetic DBD life and kill two minutes of the killers precious time and see ZERO gens pop for all my effort. People hiding in lockers and not moving. People hiding in the corner when someone gets hooked. Just a bunch of players who thought this was a Hide & Go Seek game instead of DBD.

    I just don't get it...

I'm not RR1 anymore but I'm still a solid PR5, as are my teammates. These people shouldn't be as timid as a brand new YR20 kid in their first match!

  • I'm gonna give the killer Corona! They might take me out but I will...at least make them super sick! A chance to take them with me. At least The Clown would probably be taken with me, he doesn't sound healthy to begin with...

  • Welcome to Dead by Daylight, the game where everything's made up and the points don't matter

  • Oh sure, you think we need to stop with the "What about" arguments here but what about all the "What About" arguments on Twitter?!?!

  • It's meant for whatever you want.

Personally, unless you've really pissed me off, I won't face camp even in EGC. I'll go after other survivors and try to take out more people.

Half the time everyone escapes, half the time I get another kill (or all 4) because they all tried hard to save one and got themselves killed doing it.

  • You must have played the same group I did! Three of those purple stick things that make the hooks be farther away from each other, two toolboxes and a flashlight. Anytime I got remotely close to picking someone up, they were there with the toolboxes to sabo the hook. I drop them to chase someone and the others swarm their downed comrade to heal. Basically made it (virtually) impossible to actually do anything.

I did finally manage to get one hooked and facecamped the hell out of them at that point because they were so God damn irritating (four gens popped by this point for reference) but of course the one with the flashlight must have had it superpowered because the millisecond it hit my eyes, he went blind and got the hooked person off the hook.

So unfortunately I did not get the happy ending like yours. I had one point where I had two of them down on the ground but tried to get one to the hook and they wiggled off. Hindsight is 20/20 but I absolutely regret not just slugging everyone at that point and letting them lie there and think about what they've done for four minutes or however long it takes to bleed out. Lesson learned for next go around I guess.

  • You get used to being ######### on by survivors. Just takes time to adjust to it.

  • My preferred one is Lithe. There are just too many situations where I need to get somewhere fast but don't want to kill my Sprinting Perk. Lithe does have the downside that you need a window to jump through (and some maps, those are pitifully rare) but I have found that Lithe lets me kill more of the killers time (since if you Sprint Burst right away, they may just choose not to chase you).

  • Well this sucks :(

And to those asking why it matters once it hit 0, it allowed me to know that the gen hasn't been touched. It happens a lot where I've been able to flat out ignore gens because they were ALL white as the survivors were just being cowards and hiding instead of playing.

Now I'm stuck letting those kind of survivors take the game hostage because I can't just ignore gens anymore rather than being able to focus on finding the people playing a glorified Hide & Seek game...

  • They were gonna make him the killer this go around but none of the developers were able to say the name five times. They tried to trick The Intern into doing it, hoping he never saw the original movie but with the remake/sequel/whatever coming out soon, The Intern already knew not to do it.

  • No, not really. Everything is falling apart. The world, my body, my mind, m...

Oh, you meant is anyone happy with Dead by Daylight

Overall I'm mostly happy with the game. It would be nice to have less asshat SWAT Team SWF groups to go up against but I've made peace with the fact that you're always going to have games (whether DBD or others) with groups of people who take it WAY too seriously and just use every dirty trick in the book to give themselves a leg up and to try to mock their opponent instead of having a shred of dignity in their actions.

There are certainly changes that would be nice to have made. There are still some killers who I enjoy to play as but I know going in will basically be a cakewalk for the survivors because they're just not good enough killers to take on a competent group of survivors (Hi Clown!). Some tweaks to a bunch of the weak perks would also be nice as I'd guess that about 70% of perks (on both killer and survivor side) are downright useless and seem to exist just to exist and be in the way of your Bloodweb upgrades.

  • "Some of us get our kicks seeing just how hard we can fuNk with the Killer and waste their time entirely."

Yeah, I can't imagine why killers might specifically go after the hiding survivors. I guess it's a unsolvable mystery!

  • Killer being in FP while survivor is in TP is built into the balance of the game. You wouldn't be able to give killers the advantages of TP without a drastic overhaul on basically the entire game...

  • I'll look for totems and chests and for a gen that isn't blocked but I'm also not going to run around like a chicken with the head cut-off because the killer has Corrupt Intervention. If I just plain can't find anything walking around, I have no issues with chillin in my area until Corrupt has worn off.

  • It really is unfortunate. The game is super enjoyable but so many players are just #########. I've never considered quitting because something felt imbalanced or the bugs or whatnot but I've had a few days where I was on a razor's edge from just saying "######### it" and just uninstalling the game and never coming back.
