It is annoying how often Oni smacks things that are not the survivors when I have the survivors square in my sights ready for smushing.
Especially because if you miss with his big swing, he takes a year and a half (give or take) to shake it off and get back in the chase...
-
I understand why people loop but I do personally hate it (as both a survivor and as the killer). I want to play a horror game, not Scooby Doo.
-
Yeah, all my games lately seem to be either cupcakes I squash like ants or SWAT SWF TEAM who uses every dirty trick to make my game miserable. Either direction is leading to sadness for me.
Curb stomping players nowhere near my skill level is just as boring (though I suppose less frustrating for me) as playing the SWAT Team. On the plus side I can usually tell when they're cupcakes and at least try to go easy on them (although even that is losing its charm as a lot of these guys then turn into jerks at the end t-bagging at the gates and #########, not realizing or not caring that I could have ended them multiple times in that game).
-
Isn't the weakness of DS that you might never get to use it (and therefore are now playing with 3 perks all game)? It's the reason I don't run DS as a survivor.

Concussions are a very serious injury. You're covering up The CTE the poor killers get so that you can keep making money!

Honestly, I'd be happy to just not lose my stuff when someone DCs. It absolutely sucks to use a cake and someone jumps ship right away, burning your chances at getting a decent score or when I use some super high powered item finally and have it basically end up going to waste...
-
I play nothing but Solo and I haven't noticed anything off or broken about it. Did I miss something?
-
If they do it immediately, I slug them. You take your DC hit or lie there in a time out and think about what you've done. While the majority then just DC, strangely enough I've had survivors do that who then went on and actually played the game proper when they've been picked up.
If it's later in the game, I'll put them out of their misery.
-
You're going to get yelled at for using NOED so you might as well use it to the best advantage you can

My chase music is the scream of my victims as I chase them down

If your a streamer & if their stream snipping then yes,but in your case no.
Even stream snipping they can't really be punished for because you'd have to somehow prove that they were stream snipping you. Which would be virtually impossible short of them being in the stream and mocking you or something...
But no, there's really nothing against the rules for tunneling/camping a specific survivor. Unless they are somehow following you game to game so you could argue they're harassing you, there's nothing against the rules here.
-
Pure satisfaction is having some cocky survivor pointing at you from the Exit Gate and doesn't realize that my Blood Warden was just activated...

You report them and then you submit a ticket here

So they do shine now when they fly away. I've caught flashes of shiny when wandering around and was never sure what it was.
-
Uh...wouldn't they just smack you right back down if they're face camping and you Kobe yourself off the hook?
-
To be brutally honest, I have no ######### idea anymore
All this game does is bore me because I curb stomp survivors or pisses me the ######### off when I run into a squad of #########. I have no idea why I still play this game considering how ######### it keeps making me feel.

Run directly at him. The only way to defeat The Oni is to defiantly rush him and just DARE him to hit you. The Oni's honor will not allow him to strike down a brave warrior who is unarmed.
Signed,
An Oni Main
...fine. What others above have said is the only real defense against him when he's in his angry mode. You have some decent turn with Oni but if you're able to get to a short loop, it takes a lucky swing to hit you with his club. Ideally you want to just plain hide from him when he's running around but if that's not an option, the short loop is your best bet.
-
Yes and you'll get about 10,000 BP maybe because you didn't do anything besides gens and ran away as fast as humanly possible
I guess if that's all you want, more power to you. This just seems to be a really boring way to spend your time playing this game and you don't even get a ton of points for the effort.
-
The Entity grows bored watching the killer sit there and stare at the person on the hook. Therefore The Entity punishes The Killer for being a boring bore.
-
As a survivor, I'm never going to play toxic. I play killer a lot more than survivor so I'm well aware how assholeish survivors can be. So you will never see me at the gates tea bagging or tea bagging at the pallets or really tea bagging at all except for the double dip to signify my gratitude toward a survivor who has healed me.
As a killer, game respects game. If you're not tea bagging and being a nuisance and you give me some great chases, I am a LOT more likely to give you the Hatch or the Gate than someone who is tea bagging and being a pest to annoy me. You want to call that not doing my part in the war against toxicity, sure, go for it. But when people go out of their way to annoy me, I will hunt down like the little mosquito they are and crush them for it.
-
Yeah, it's a known bug unfortunately
Rumor has it that it is something that will be fixed next patch. For now, hitting a survivor will unbug it and let you use your powers again. Not a great fix (especially in EGC) but that will at least get the bugs shaken out of his skull and let you use your powers.
-
I mean...I don't think any killer has to camp to get kills but Doctor would be an odd choice. If you're going to sit there and camp, he might be one of the worse ones at it as his powers are about discovering survivors, not hurting them. So a very....odd choice of killer to camp with.
-
I am almost always going to lean consistent but lower value over one time but super high value perks
I don't know if that says things about me or what but I hate having a wasted perk spot. It's a major reason why I don't run perks like Decisive Strike or No One Escapes Death; I'd rather have a perk that is always useful over something that would be insanely strong but only in certain situations.
Really the only exception to that rule is Blood Warden, which I have on any killer that can one-shot someone down. Even then, that's more because there is nothing funner in this game to me than getting to see someone teabagging at the gates only for them to turn around once I wander over there and realize that the gates are blocked...

I think it would decrease the toxicity levels in game. Maybe the player that is given props gets 5k bp or something. It would be pretty healthy for the game, and I don't see why not.
I don't even think I'd need a monetary reward when people give me props (though it's not like I'd say no). For me at least, just the notification from my opponents that game respects game is good enough :D
I play as killer almost exclusively now so maybe that's part of why I'd like to see this. Very rarely do survivors send you a message when it was a good game. The vast majority of messages I get from survivors is either accusing me of camping/tunneling (regardless of whether camping/tunneling actually happened) or survivors who did well in a match who just want to be ######### and rub it in my face. So just getting a good message alone would be enough to brighten my mood when it comes to playing the game.
-
That would be nice. Right now, giving Props is kind of useless (I still do it in case maybe it does something in the background that we're not aware of) but it would be nice to get some kind of a notification when people give Props. Be a nice balance to actually receive something good since the only people that usually send a message are ######### who want to be ######### about how badly I did that round.
-
I don't care when people use it (I am going after the other person anyway as I don't like to tunnel). It's when the BT person then slows down and actively gets in your way with body blocking that I get irked by it. But even then, I just now end up tunneling them because if you're diving in front of your rescuer like that, I know you're going to have BT and you're going to be super bummed to know that I'm just going to be on your ass waiting 20 seconds to knock you right back down for trying to pull that kind of stunt...
-
I imagine it's because those are painfully easy to skate right around. You could throw up those kind of blocks but all it takes is a space or a @ instead of an A or about a thousand other creative typing to slip right past the swear blocker.
-
He'd almost certainly be OP in that case
If I've been able to stalk someone for long enough that I have them marked, generally that means they had no idea I was watching them. I suppose you could argue that they should keep a better eye on their surroundings but ultimately I do think they deserve some kind of an indication that I'm watching them.
Generally too if I have you marked, it's already too late to get away anyway :D

High five.
I thought I was the only forum member here over 30.
I'm just happy at least one person got it :D
(Presumably at this point, two people have gotten it as my post has two likes)

I had someone accuse me of hacking because they couldn't escape
I had Blood Warden on
Like...even if you don't know what every single perk does, there's a nice little list of all the perks we have equipped at the end of the game. Maybe take a peek at that list before accusing people of cheating :D

Thirty six-twenty- four-thirty six
Ha ha, only if she's 5'3
-
Can y'all start numbering these please? I'm not sure which tbag thread is the current message for tbaggers. Very confusing!
-
I find it painfully boring to just sit there and stare at a hanging survivor but I guess if you have fun standing there, go nuts.
-
So you don't want to discuss something on a discussion board?
I don't tunnel when I'm the killer because I think it's unfun. If I tunnel one survivor out as fast as possible, generally the other 3 survivors realize this and will turtle up. Now I get to play a long game of hide and seek as survivors run at the very first sign of you going to them because they don't want to be the next tunneled out victim.
-
The only thing I don't like about BW is having someone ready to hook but the other survivors have 99ed the gates. Your idea helps against that but one of the big perks of BW is getting to see the survivors auras at the gate, which wouldn't happen if the switch is blocked (since they never enter the gate area).
I kind of wish it would activate regardless of the gate status if you've hooked someone after the last gen (and have the gates start the 60 sec countdown when they're opened) but that would probably make BW too strong. It just sucks to have basically a dead perk slot all game that still doesn't get used because you caught a survivor far from the gates...
-
I think the most biased of biased survivor mains would recognize that being the killer is the harder job in the game. Killers generally have to rely on survivor oopsies rather than their own skill (that's not always the case of course but a lot of times the difference between a 4K and a 0K will be some survivor done screwed up and it cost them). Survivors also are able to use teamwork and if you get a group of either really good solos or a SWF team, there are times when it is damn near impossible to do anything as a killer.
That's not to say that being a survivor is easy but I've said it before, if you somehow got four survivors who were of completely equal skill to a killer, the survivors more times than not would win the game.
-
I've always been of the mind that the game doesn't truly start for The Killer until there are only 2 gens left
Any damage I can do prior to those first 3 gens going off is just a handicap in my favor. There's just no realistic way to patrol and guard that many gens so your job as the killer at the beginning is figure out where everything is, get a down or two if you can, and try to herd the survivors into doing the gens that you want them to do (for example, I will stay in an area where I think I can get them to three gen themselves and just let them those far outside gens).
Once you get to two gens, that's when the killers job to defend the gens begins
-
I just wander away once all the survivors are at the gate. If they want to sit there and jerk each other off over how good they did in the match, that's their choice. I'm going to wander around and find any random pallets I missed or do killer power over and over (like laying traps if I'm the trapper) for those extra little points.
-
If it's part of a SWF, it allows the entire team to do gens while you're essentially forced to chase after one single person as they'll just tell their buddies any time you're coming near them. Sure, you know where they are at all times but they also know where you are at all times. It can take an obscene amount of time to get that one down and by that point, usually (at least) 3 gens are done.
As solo, I don't really care all that much. I've found that people running it solo are constantly trying to get you to chase them and when you go after someone else, they STILL are trying to get your attention for you to chase them so you've got 2 survivors out of commission instead of just the 1 you are chasing.

i've had a lot of survivors with OoO chasing me and trying to get my attention, so i like it since i just ignore them and chase someone else so that's another survivor not on gens
Same
I've noticed a uptick in survivors using it but either they're bad SWFs or they're alone because all they do is try to get me to chase them.
So I ignore them and go after others. The OoO person keeps butt dancing while I kill the other members of the team so OoO is working out well for me as I essentially have two survivors not doing gens now.
-
Yes it does?
Every time you get points, a little icon pops up and has a circle around it. That circle fills in as you gain points. 8000 is the max per category so if it's a Fist and the circle is half full, you currently have 4000 BP in Brutality
-
I had two people send me messages two games in a row after I bought Demigorgon (so literally game 1 and 2 of me using a brand new character with relatively complicated powers). It's just...eat a dick you douchenozzles. I hope you didn't pull something patting yourself on the back so hard.
All you can do is blow them off and ignore it unfortunately. At least until they discover a way to digitally send a smack upside the head like they deserve...
-
I had the two survivor standoff once as a killer (where two survivors are just hiding waiting for the other one to get caught so they can Hatch escape).
I've been wandering around for like...three minutes at this point getting super bored as both are hiding and going nowhere near the gens. So I walk over to a completely random locker, open it, and SURPRISE!, survivor hiding right there.
That person was super salty and let me know about how they're going to be reporting me for hacking when all it was was just incredibly bad luck. Or maybe Entity Induced Karma for wasting my time hiding the entire time.

First, you should remove the screenshots because naming and shaming is against the forum rules here. All you're going to do is get yourself banned from the forums.
Second, to report someone, you have to submit a ticket. Here is where you do that.

I have always been of the mind that if you somehow set it up to have four survivors of equal skill to the killer, the survivors more often than not would come out on top
The game is pretty well balanced all things considering but there is definitely an edge the survivors get. I don't think it's as huge of an advantage as many on the forum seem to believe (and that doesn't make the Survivor role easy by any means) but I do think the survivors are slightly favored in the balance. If four survivors play mistake free against an equally skilled killer, I would expect at least three of the four survivors to escape every time.
-
Just a FYI with your story, the chest makes a LOT more noise than survivors think. A killer in the shack above will hear you going through the chest. So what they probably saw was you purposefully getting the killers attention while leaving your fellow survivors high and dry.
-
I've never gotten the hang of stupid flashlights so I'm guessing based on getting blinded as a killer...
If I break the pallet without being blinded, it is far far easier for me to see which direction the survivor went to continue chase. If they blind me though, I have to resort to sound and luck that I go the right direction (or if I stand still until the blindness is gone, the survivor usually gets an extra few seconds of distance on me).

Surge is definitely his best perk. Believe it or not, I find it incredibly strong on Ghostface.
A couple of peeps have mentioned it's good on GF. GF is one of my main stabby bois so I'm going to have to try it on him but his stalk powers combined with Surge does on paper look like a...killer combination :D
-
I found it too unreliable, especially as you play against more seasoned players as they generally don't lose the "tremendously difficult" check.. I'd much rather have my boy Surveillance over Overcharge any day. Surveillance might not do any damage to the generator but if anything, I kind of find that a good thing. A survivor tripping overcharge will bolt, knowing they've been made. A survivor tripping surveillance however has no idea that I know they're at that generator...
