If there are multiple gens left but only two people, I'll generally stab people and let them go so I have time to wander around and find the hatch. So all you'd be doing against me is killing your gen progress.
-
That'll show those four strangers that had nothing to do with your previous games!
-
If you're the last survivor, you try to get to the Hatch instead of the gen. Your chances of getting the gen done as the last survivor is basically zero so get the hatch or if the killer gets there first, try to open the gate.
Ultimately if your the last survivor, your chances of winning is minimal. Take your probable death and move on.
Edit: Wait, you said you had a teammate and then you said you were the last survivor. Which is it? If you were with a teammate, you both just try to get a gen done (either together on one or split up and force the killer to choose who to go after).

4 BP just to mess with everyone
-
HIT THE LEVER!!!
-
Farming is stupid boring. I will never farm with people because I can generally get the same amount of points playing the game normally as I can farming. I'm playing a game to play a game, not to try to game the system to get a few extra BP.
-
Same here
I know they've said it is coming but I have a LOT of friends who play PC gaming and I would love to trick th...er, convince them that DBD is super fun and they should all play with me! But I'm not going to get the game on PC and start everything all over again.
-
I keep having the opposite problem (I'm Red Ranked 1; I don't think I've played a Red Rank today, let alone someone at Level 1). A lot of Yellow and Green people are my opponents today.
Which is great for me with the Anniversary Cakes (and at least somewhat great for the people I'm playing as I have become a lot more merciful with hooks and letting people escape) but I could absolutely understand why it is super annoying.
I know the devs have said they've been working on a fix but this has been going on for months now. You'd figure there could be some kind of adjustment/hot fix to band-aid the problem until they setup their brand new matchmaking system or something...
-
I don't tunnel crown peeps (hell, I don't tunnel period) BUT with that being said, I think survivors underestimate how much easier it is to see their Twilight Sparkling Asses when they have the crown picked up. They're way easier to find when they try to hide and when they run/walk, they leave a trail of sparkles behind them like a super fabulous Hansel and Gretel.

I will definitly try "Bloodwarden" on him, never done it for some reason.
My build consists of: BBQ, PGTW, Dark Devotion and Fire up. Pretty fun to catch survivors offguard with DD. :D
I don't have Clown or Plague so two of those are ones I can't do (I'm relatively new as I've been playing since February but I have bought all the Licensed DLC since you can't unlock them normally so most of my focus has been on using them)
I am slowly unlocking the original peeps since I've played often enough to have the shards. I just unlocked Oni as he looked like tons of fun and I was going to wait for the next Archive Selection before unlocking anyone else since I want to be sure I have the survivors/killers for each Archive unlocked.

There are indeed a lot of players that don't seem to play killer at all. xD
Do you like "Fire Up!" on Myers btw?
I use Blood Warden (I use BW on most of my killers with a one shot mechanic), BBQ & Chill (basically just for the double BP), Surveillance (basically every killer I have that on as I love the information it gives you and how many survivors just are not very smart about hopping right back to gens immediately after I kick them), and the fourth one usually changes around but currently is Thanatophobia. I should change that since I pretty commonly go for the T3 attack but I like having it on as my "just in case" kind of perk if the team I'm playing against has people who are good against Meyers and realize how to put stuff between them in chases.

Poor ol' Tippy...
I'm generally pretty chill in this game but holy hell, if I had the ability to send a punch through the Internet, I would have then. It's worse too because I can see that's EXACTLY what that moron was doing thanks to Kindred so I can't even at least pretend like he might have had a good reason like it happened during a chase and he JUST scrapped out of the trial just in the nick of time or something...

Again: DON'T. DO. STARING. CONTESTS. WITH. DADDY. MYERS.!.
The only time I would have sent a message in anger to someone ( good thing Xboxs "recent player" list for whatever reason failed to update so he wasn't on it or I may have gotten myself a suspension) was some ######### teabagging Meyers at the gate when I was unhooking someone because of course, Meyers gets T3 from it, ######### gets away, and ol Tippy gets punished for ######### stupidity.
I play as Meyers a lot and it's amazing how many survivors either don't put objects inbetween themselves and Meyers during a long chase or just flat out stare down Meyer. Do all these people just somehow not understand the very basic powers of a killer?

How long is a ban for AFK?
I've never been banned so no idea but The Devs have said in the past that bans are exponential. So you start with little bans that slowly get bigger if you keep doing whatever naughty thing they already yelled at you for.
How long those bans are and how much patience the devs have for repeat offenders, I have no idea. I don't know if that is even published somewhere or if that is an internal thing that the devs decide on a case by case basis.

The wraith is completely 100% invisible while standing still. The slight shimmer is only visible while moving.
Oh fo rizzle? I honestly didn't know that, I thought you could see him with his "Predator Invisibility" no matter what but I suppose I would have never seen him standing still :D
Alright, then I guess that changes that part. I don't know if the devs would eventually look into a bunch of reports without video evidence if a ton of reports came in. So I guess if for some reason you want to ruin 4 people's game by going AFK and maybe not getting in trouble for it, this might work. I would imagine the devs would eventually look into it if they kept getting reports but I am not a dev and therefore cannot answer for them.

Yeah but they dont see you or hear you
...OK?
You're still AFK. I know Survivors have a bad rep among killers for being brain-dead but I'm pretty sure they'd notice the killer never did anything, even if you were invisible at the time.
EDIT: Really the only advantage you might have is that the survivors wouldn't have video of it (EDIT 2: removed the "you can see the invisible wraith part as evidently you cannot).
-
You can get banned for AFKing, yes
-
You did your best, The Entity and I are still proud of you!
-
They have to be asleep for them to affect the survivors. It's likely the ones you saw running through were not asleep at the time.
-
Your fix hammers people who just want to be able to play a video game together.
While yeah, I get it can be boring but as a killer, I run into the same exact issue against 4 strangers playing solo so it's not like forcing SWF people to be required to play with different perks is going to make that much of a difference in matches. All you're going to do is irk SWF people for no real good reason.
-
I just give messages the old THUMBS UP whenever people whine at me
Usually they will stop talking or they'll go bananas. It's fun
-
I love me my Leatherface even pre-buff but he absolutely needed some help. I play as him because I think he's super fun to play as, not because he's good at killing people :D

I stopped playing survivor during the event as cakes seem to appear more in killer webs (and with BBQ & Chill, I get a S ton of Bloodpoints when combined with all the tasty tasty Anniversary cakes)
That said, when I did play survivor during the event, I did have a few killers bring eboni moris. It was annoying and I'd completely understand why a survivor would duck out given that circumstance but I never did. I just kind of roll with the punches when it comes to this game and sometimes the punch is from some killer trying WAY too hard to make survivors piss away their anniversary cakes.
Sucks when it happens but I guess I'm a lot more zen about the game then others. Though to be fair, I am also on Xbox so the time it takes to get a match (as both survivor and a killer) is generally 0-3 minutes so it's a lot easier for me to be zen about the crappy situations :D
-
That was in the new hot patch from Thursday. If you'd have been on the Forum on Thursday, you'd have seen nothing BUT people talk about it :D
-
I have had no issues with any of the changes
I flip flop between Survivor and Killer (though with The Anniversary Cakes, I'm almost exclusively killer right now since BBQ & Chill is so delicious with The Anniversary Cakes) so I don't know if that makes me in a better position to understand (even if I don't like) every change that they make or what.
Some of the changes I have liked, some of them I have not; adapt or die
-
DBD is doing something I don't like so I'm going to purposefully ruin 4 complete strangers game because...that'll show DBD! Somehow!
RA RA FIGHT THE POWER!
-
Gen Speeds are fine
Anyone who has played Killer long enough should realize you never ever win without the first few gens popping (you certainly can if the survivors are a real hot mess but it's rare)
The killers start to gain control of the field once you get down to two or one gen left. That's when the Killer puts on all the pressure and moves around and keeps survivors from popping gens. If you are effective enough, you can take out survivors before the last gen pops. If you're not, you still have chances to take out survivors with the gates and/or EGC
Sure, if you're going up against a SWAT SWF TEAM, gen speeds can be a problem but that's going to be an issue against a SWAT SWF TEAM no matter what speeds you make them. A group of 4 survivors with THAT much coordination would run circles around a killer no matter how slow you made everything go.
-
Along with that, I think people tend to forget that the forums do not necessarily represent the average player. There are tens of thousands of active players playing this game and what...maybe a couple hundred people here (couple thousand if you want to be generous).
It's why I find it funny when you get the "BOYCOTT KILLER!!!" or "BOYCOTT SURVIVOR SKIN X" or "BOYCOTT WHATEVER!!!!!" threads; you're talking to MAYBE 5% of the population of the game in forums (and out of those 5%, not everyone is going to agree to boycotting whatever your current pet peeve is). The opinions on the Forum does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the majority of players; the forum is just louder.
-
I honestly don't think there is something that happens (directly like free bp or indirectly like you might be more likely to be paired up with them again).
I do it anyway just in case but usually I give props by directly messaging someone to let them know well done.

I had gone through 150 webs or so, prepatch, everysingle one of those at level 50 had at least 1 and might have more, and always in a node, closest to the middle. They diffently changed something
Doing a bit more, you're right that they're not as common now (I'm seeing 0-1 per lvl 50 web versus 1-3 per web earlier).
I think they went from being gray items to being yellow items. They're still relatively common like yellows but not really rare like a green or purple item.
Which I suppose sucks considering how common they were but I thought it was insane how many I was getting when they were that common and I figure I won't look a gift horse in the mouth with how wonderful the 104% team bp is :)

Because for every 10 games I play, I have about 1 bad game. Does that bad game annoy the ######### out of me for a few minutes? Absolutely. But I use that anger to drive me forward and do play better.
Additionally, the game gets extremely boring if I'm constantly playing one side.
This. All of this. The entire thing.
Yeah, you get a ######### game every so often against a SWAT SWF Team but those are far far FAR rarer than people want you to think (or maybe at this point, I've played long enough that I can take them on just as well as a normal team). The game is an absolute blast as killer and I will continue playing killer until it is as unfun as three fourths the forum seems to believe it is.
EDIT: And for reference, I am a red Ranked Killer. Generally ranked 1 or 2 pending how the day has gone.
-
But I love playing Killer :(
STAB STAB STAB STAB!!!
-
I for one am super happy about it.
I have had the aiming assistance or whatever you call it swing and hit the hooked person rather than hitting the person doing the unhooking. Maybe it can still happen but as of now at least, I've yet to hit the wrong target since the change was made.
-
Weird, each time I've had (at least) one Cake per bloodweb. Granted, I finished my lunch break so I only went through 4 web things but I got 5 out of that four (one from a "mystery box" and four just out in the open).
Not sure if I got lucky or you're not lucky or likely something inbetween that will even itself out the more we bloodweb.
-
Nice. I just had a 4 bagger but I'm expecting a 5er to show up at some point. We played Plague so didn't get as many points as we could (they weren't great as they failed to hook someone and then quit at the end so no Altruism for us) but it was still a damn nice haul.
I look forward to really boosting levels of characters I haven't used with all these sexy Anniversary cakes!
-
I can confirm. Just had a match with 4 of them in it; got approx 22,000 BP and received approx 90,000 total when all was said and done
EDIT: I assume this is everyone but Xbox if for some reason it is not. I have heard it is fixed for all though but I can only directly confirm Xbox.

Definitely still winnable but I think the point remains that it's just a frustrating mess of survivor misplays that should have put him into a guaranteed win position instead of him having to eat most of the consequences of their mistakes. BT and DS encourage that kind of eye-rolling behavior and obviously don't do anything to stem the tide of tunneling/camping (evidenced by all the complaints about constant tunneling/camping).
They just enable survivors to play like idiots while still requiring max effort from the killer.
But I guess that's my point; this game, from my understanding, would have been an easy low effort win because those survivors played like dum dums.
Two survivors threw themselves onto the OPs blade and (should have) been easily punished for it. Instead, the OP took his ball and went home because the easy win wasn't easy enough because of perks the two dum dums had (one perk, DS, that could have been wiped from the board if they ate the DS and just went back after them. People act like DS stops the killers from being able to just keep pursuing their target for some reason).
Yes, being a killer is hard. Hell, I'd go so far as to say if a killer and four survivors were completely evenly skilled, survivors have the edge. But to pretend that survivors can make these mistakes and not get punished for it by the killer is silly. This should have been a pretty easy win BECAUSE the survivors played dumb.
-
So 2 gens popped and you had the opportunity to punish bad plays by making them piss away DS that early but instead quit the match because they gifted you easy hooks?
Or if you didn't want to eat the DS, you could have slugged them and made them waste a bunch of time getting them back up.
Like, am I misunderstanding what went down here because it sounds like you absolutely could have and should have punished survivors doing bad plays but decided to quit instead...
-
Risk/Reward like most other powers. It's up to you in the moment to determine that balance and whether you're better off Hooking or Caging in that particular moment.
Caging in the old state had mostly reward, minimal risk. This balances that equation out a bit more and forces you to think a little more tactically about your decision.

I barely play this game though, I just wasted over $90 on that garbage so I might as well try to get my money's worth out of it. Plus pos like you never understand killer mains frustration with the game just don't comment on my posts.
So you're going to get $90 of value from the game by booting up games and then not playing? Meanwhile you're ruining the game for four strangers who are just trying to play a match.
I'm not seeing the logic here. If you don't like the game and/or can't handle the game physically per your Doctor's orders, booting it up and then not playing it seems like a huge waste of your time.
Explain it to me like I'm five how you're getting any value of any kind in this plan? Just wanting to punish four strangers because you spent $90 on a game you end up not liking and now you're bitter? You feel like if the game is on, somehow you're getting your moneys worth just sitting there picking your nose? Are you hoping that somehow you'll stop getting super stressed out by the game if it's just on in the background? Like, what's the end game here?
-
Yes, being AFK is bannable
Instead of throwing a fit and ruining 4 people's game, you could just, not play. Lots of other games out there that you can play, I'd recommend finding one of them and playing that instead.
-
I've saved all of the ones I've gotten just because I want to wait until the fix to start using them
I suppose the smart thing would be to use them anyway and use the extra points to buy more but I've primarily just been using standard offerings and then buying a bunch of Anniversary Cakes with what I've gotten.

Tbf Im not sure how an up too 40+ second heal is worth it in 99% percent of games.
Which is fine, you're allowed to not like certain perks.
My FAQ thing is more for the "Self care is a fifth killer perk!!!" dum dums who are under the impression that SC shouldn't be used by anyone ever because THEY think it's a bad perk.
Personally, I prefer the versatility SC gives me. You personally might prefer the safety net of IS as there are less killer perks (and rarer as outside of Archive, Killers generally don't use Iron Maiden) that directly affect IS while accepting the risk that you might get to a point in the game where you're hurt and can't use it.
Neither of us are objectively wrong; it's just a play style difference.
-
You guys can reveal Ghost Face? :D
I kid, I kid (...kind of) but I have no issues with it. GF would be ridiculously overpowered if a survivor had to actually turn their body and look right at GF to kill his shroud (like in chases).
To me, it's just the nature of the two views. If the killer was in 3rd person, I'd guess SC would activate if the camera looks at the survivor too (or if survivors were in 1st person, gf depowers when looking in the direction of gf).

Id like to counter with Inner strength even on max ranks take less time to do a complete full heal than SC does. Self Care takes 32 seconds 40 if sloppy. Max Rank IS takes 22 and 20 on lowest I believe.
To use IS, you need to find and clear a totem (so that takes time for both of those actions). Then you need to find a locker and get in, which also takes time. Then you need to crawl into said locker and sit and chill, also taking time.
There is also the risk of the killer using Iron Maiden so now the killer knows where you are. There's also the risk that you can't find a totem (either because you've been hit before so you needed it multiple times or you just have a hella efficient team or the RNG Gods have decided they hate you today and totems are all in the sneaky hiding spots) so now you have a healing perk that can't heal you.
There's certainly nothing wrong with people using IS over SC if that's your preference but people pretending like SC is some super bad perk with nothing but problems and risk love to absolutely ignore all the potential problems with all the other healing perks.
-
Survivors I can see tea bagging and pointing at the gates...right before Blood Warden activates.
Just so wonderful seeing them tea bag like crazy, turn around, and realize they done messed up...
-
It was my understanding that right now they're bugged period. As in, no one (except the cake user) gets the 104% boost. Whether you use BBQ or not, you don't get bonus BP from their anniversary cakes.
-
I can't speak for others but I bounce around a lot as killer. I play more as Leatherface right now since he's my "newest" killer I unlocked (and right now Double BP from BBQ is awesome to help me collect those delicious 104% cakes) but usually I'll choose a killer at random. It really depends on my mood.
Really the only one I refuse to play as is Nurse because I never figured her out and now that I'm Red Rank, the opportunity to try to use her against lower opponents is basically gone. I was getting curb stomped learning her when I was low ranked against low ranks, I can't imagine trying to learn her against other Reds...
-
I feel ya. I used a purple flashlight with super powered add ons and I couldn't get the blinding to work. It's downright embarrassing that I, a red ranked survivor, struggle so badly to get it to work that I just never bothered to learn it.
I feel so silly using flashlights but practicing with them is the only way I'll manage to ever get decent. I'll have to try aiming at the upper chest next time as some have suggested...
