Some of us (or maybe just me lol) just want to see the world burn. Or in this case, want to murder 🥴
Which is fine. Contrary to what some may say, it's your mori, use it however you want to.
I was just giving you a more detailed response to my original response since you asked what we mean when we say you lose points.

Got a better idea on how not to see the same 3 maps out of 20+ choices we have already. Sans-offerings of Map choices?
I feel like you're greatly exaggerating how often people get the same maps (I don't feel like that's my experience at all) but for fun, we'll pretend your experience is everyone's.
If your issue was the case, I'd just ask BHVR to make it truly random which map you get rather than weighted random, which I presume they currently use (as in you could get any map but some maps have a higher chance of being randomly chosen).

Funnily enough, those saying you lose BP for Mori use. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you still get BP no matter you Mori or Not. Sure, the game mechanics dictate how much by doing objectives respectively but it's not like it's 0 BP when you Mori kill.
When I say you lose BP, I'm talking about ebony mori off the first hook. You're losing all the points you'd get from hooking the survivor a third time (as we'll consider the mori your "2nd" hook), plus you'd likely lose points in Hunter and Brutality because you now have less survivors to chase and whack.
You get BP using the mori but you're denying yourself a lot of "potential" points taking survivors out so quickly.

I’ve just started trying it recently. If you’re one of those people that likes to take Ruin and Surveillance then its probably decent as it will work with Surveillance after Ruin is gone.
Its not a bad little perk I dont think so far. Its good against solo as it makes gens regress, but obviously a 3-4 man swf will be able to communicate to stop any gens from regressing too far.
Also sometimes it comes in clutch. Like when you down a survivor and another is trying to rush a nearby gen, Pop is stronger but you need to pick up and hook first. Because that 8% kicks in as soon as the survivor is hit Ive had it stop survivors from finishing a gen in front of my face when Pop couldn’t.
That actually happened to me in my last match, which was kind of the inspiration for the thread. That gen had to have been seconds away as she kept working the gen as I smacked her down. Lost the percentage, other survivor couldn't pop it before I circled back after the hook.
-
I try to send those guys a "chin up, MM is kind of broken right now" messages. It's usually painfully obvious when they're new so I try to send them good vibes when they get thrashed by people way above them.
I get so much ######### thrown at me (I just got the Demo so even though I am currently ranked 4, I sure as hell don't play like it as I'm learning his powers; I really hope I run into the jerks again now that I have a handle on what I'm doing...) that I try to send happy messages to these poor bastards getting tossed right in the meatgrinder.

It’s a good perk.
Makes survivors crap their pants.
People do say this game doesn't provide enough scares...
😈

I never use Moris unless forced by either a Daily or an Archive Challenge and even then, unless my hand is forced (like...it's EGC so either I use the Mori on this fella now or I risk not getting to use it period), I won't use it until I have hooked everyone twice.
For selfish reasons, you lose so much BP when you use Mori and that makes me a sad killer. For also selfish reasons but happy reasons if you're a survivor, I think the game is a lot more fun when all four survivors are alive and kicking (again, unless it's end time).

Surge is good for applying surveillance without kicks. It's definitely the perks primary purpose atm and as an alarm while ruin is up that someone is working on a gen within the range. Wouldn't recommend it outside of synergy builds and def not on demo as it won't apply to shred.
...so Surge and Surveillance work together? Because that makes me a LOT more intrigued in Surge as Surveillance is my jam on basically every killer I use.
-
No
There are very few situations where I will actively go out of my way to tunnel/camp someone and it's they really made me mad.
Yesterday I had a survivor jump in a locker to DS me. That's fair, I knew going in she must have DS cause why else would you jump in a locker when I'm on top of you? I'll eat the DS now and no longer have to worry about it. Once she DS'ed, she jumped back into the locker, waited for my stun to end, and hit me with Head On.
I don't (purposefully at least) tunnel anyone but you better believe that level of disrespect meant she signed her Death Warrant. I hunted her down like a T-1000 going after John Connor until she was dead.

His lunge and reach are the same as other killers, his size makes you think he cant reach you but it is deceiving and he can.
This
The devs have confirmed that everyone has the same exact range of attack. Freddy is just tiny and has tiny garden claws as his weapon so his lunge looks longer but if Freddy hits you, any killer would have from that same spot.

You're a braver person than I
I used her a few times when I first played and got so frustrated that I stopped using her.

Some people are miserable clowns and have to lash out at everyone to feel better about themselves
-
I gave up on Totems pretty quickly. Definitely a high risk high reward item but I swear The RNG hates me because it was always No Reward for me :D
-
That sucks :(
I'm not sure what else I can really say. There's not a whole lot you can do about it unfortunately. Even with the penalties (especially right now with how many of these Ghastly Gateau Cakes we get and how many BP a DCing survivor leaves on the table), there are just people who are going to be jerks about their loss. Sucks but all you can do is keep trying and hope that a team you wipe out isn't a bunch of childish babies.
-
I had someone say they were going to report me for hacking because they couldn't get out the exit gate.
I used my 13eT h@x skills to put Blood Warden on :D
-
If you wanted to do a Wal-Mart but not have to pay for it AND tie it into an already existing DBD character, might I be so bold as to offer either S-MART or Ashy Slashy's hardware store emporium?
I for one would much prefer the well-stocked hardware store/sex-toy emporium over some generic store :D
-
Surveillance for everyone! It is easily my favorite perk and I feel downright naked with a killer who doesn't have it on. It is just such a good perk in the information that it gives you (knowing where to go but just as importantly, where NOT to go) that I adore it. My only regret is that you can't kick a gen that hasn't been started so active Surveillance but that might make it a little TOO strong :D
BBQ & Chill is also one that I very commonly have on just for the 100% BP. The Auras is a nice little bonus that comes in handy often but since I already have an information perk in Surveillance, I really don't need it. But 100% BP so I'm on board BBQ.
Blood Warden is one that I have on any "one shot" killers. There is no better feeling in this game than being able to see the Aura of some clown butt dancing and pointing in the end gate while you wander your way up there only for them to turn around and realize "...I ######### up". Downright orgasmic :D
The last one to two perks will usually just depend on the specific killer I'm using
-
Also RR1 Killer to chime in gen speeds are fine
Do the beginning gens pop very quickly? Yes. But any killer worthy of their blade knows that the game doesn't truly start until there are only a few gens left. If you're expecting your 4K with 5 gens on the board still and therefore giving up when two or three have popped, you're doing killer wrong.
-
Don't listen to him my Silent Giant! You're my #1!
But yeah, as others have stated, Meyers takes a good amount of practice to really figure out. Especially because a lot of his powers benefit from you letting The Obsession escape so it almost takes a re-training of your killer brain to realize that you need to let that person go for the max benefits.
For a hot Meyers tip, I always recommend getting your Tier 2 to as close to filled as you can without actually filling it up. Then once you're in a chase and right on top of someone, tap the power button to get his powers and get your T3 down. Repeat as necessary.
Honestly the hardest part with Meyers is his powers are a slow snowball power. So if you get a team of coordinated gen rushers, there's really not a whole lot Meyers can do to counter it.

Yeah man, but... Hiding in a corner is even less funny imho.
Also, you can't really explain the powerful feeling of unhooking a Survivor in full killer terror radius, then baiting the killer into chasing you and not him, and pulling a pallet stun, a vault loop and loosing the killer unscathed.
Exactly what they didn't even try to do.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1432210#Comment_1432210
They didn't even tried to make someone else game miserable. No teabag, no competitive play, they looked like some scary little children First time into the game... If not they were all 4 perks, purple and red accessories and 2 add-ons.
Oh, I guess I misunderstood. I thought they were throwing each other under the bus while also being really bad at the game :D
-
Some people are ######### who can't have fun unless they're making other people miserable
It sucks that PVP games seem to draw these kind of people like moths to a flame :(

That's the risk you take when you use Hexes
Sometimes The RNG loves you and sometimes The RNG does not

I'd just have the sound effect for breaking a dull totem become global. So the final bone collapsing sound will be heard by everyone signifying a dull totem being cleansed.
From there all you need to do is count.
Ooooh, I like this idea.
Solos get to know what's going on (killers too I suppose) and survivors have to take a risk to clear the totems with a "Hey killer, I'm over here!" bell.
-
Personally, I think that should be part of the game whether they have NOED or not. The risks of skipping totem stays the same that way since if it's only NOED games, everyone now can see when NOED is in play.

It's clear they were just trolling the killer (at least based on your story). I'm not sure why you'd expect them reaching out to you was going to end in anything but grief.

I just started using Oni (had my 5th match or so yesterday) so I feel your pain.
I'm starting to get the hang of it but Red Rank 1 opponents with a new killer I'm not familiar with has equaled a lot of sadness for me. I'm slowly figuring it out and getting better. That Game 5 was the first game I snowballed a game proper and holy hell was it satisfying after a few games of 0 kills :D
So yeah, all you can do is lie back and think of England for a bit until you can figure out your shiny new toy

OP means in the actual game. So for example, if I have to hide for 60 seconds next to the Killer with Dwight, that I know when those 60 seconds are done.
Would be totally fine if this would be visible when pressing Escape (or whatever Button it is on Console) so that you not only see the Offerings, but also the current Rift Challenge and the progress.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooh...
Gotcha. I'd be down with that. I'm not sure how important it would be but it wouldn't hurt to have it on either. Especially if we're getting more "Dwight the Brave" type challenges
-
...there is?
Unless I'm just not understanding you.
If your challenge is done, a big side bar and loud noise happens when you get to the character selection screen to tell you the challenge is done. If you ignored it, you hover your clicker on the right side and a big side bar will appear with "No challenge selected". If you're in the rift, completed challenges are a different color (or bright yellow if it's completed but not cashed in yet).
I'm not sure what else you want the game to do to inform you your challenge is done
-
Because people are silly

People can have different opinions!?!?

Yay, my boy LF needed it.
I play as him because his powers are fun, not because he's good. Having his powers be fun AND be good will be a nice change of pace.
I'm excited to see what he looks like once all is said and done.

No. They decreased the spawn rate of cakes and increased the spawn rate of items. Usually a single event item will be in each web. Cake, flashlight or medkit.
That said, killers don't get event items therefor the cake is the only thing that can spawn. This also doesn't mean killers get a cake in every bloodweb.
Huh...that makes sense. I did notice Anniversary Items showed up more often now than pre-hotfix and cakes being a lot more scarce. That explanation explains that.
-
It does seem far more generous on the killer side than the Survivor side. I don't think I've had a Killer web yet that didn't have at least one cake (with 3 being my record on one web).
-
I've gone from 0k to 4k during EGC (and I don't use NOED). I'd dare say for a killer like my boy Leatherface (or any killer with a one shot mechanic), EGC is where they become the most effective.
The pressure of hooking a survivor with the added pressure of a timer makes a lot of survivors make bad plays.
If I know the game is over (like all 4 are at the gate and are just looking to be jerks), I'll just wander away and chill on the other side of the map or look for the hatch for the few extra points when they finally realize I'm not going to watch them act like clowns to mock me. They can tea bag and point to their hearts content; I'll be over here not paying them any attention.

He's also likely drunk and/or coming down from a perpetual hang-over :D

I think you put too much weight into people's reasoning for trying hard to win. I guarantee you a lot of people would join that casual mode just to troll what they'd consider easier killers. Its sucks, but people are mean, man. And then you'd have some who'd just be that good from habit. I fail to see how it changes much, besides saying "Okay guys this is suppose to be the casual mo---" "CLICK CLICK OoO DS BT BODYBLOCK" "-_-"
To add to this, anyone who has ever played a game like Rainbow Six Siege would be well aware that adding a Casual v Competitive mode rarely fixes things. I play R6:S super casually (like...I get an itch to play it with my buddy once every few months; we basically have the default people and a handful of the Season 2 people unlocked since they're the cheapest you can get with the free currency; for reference, I believe there are 17 seasons in R6:S currently) so obviously we play nothing but casual because we are awful and barely know what we're doing.
Usually after a few days, we get bored of the game. Not because the game is boring but because you are pretty routinely curb stomped by people who have no friggin business being in a "Casual" mode.

I swear I've seen you make this exact same comment elsewhere! Do you just have this saved as a text file somewhere to copy and paste whenever there's a new discussion posted about swf?
I have (I also have the same thing for when people complain about Self Care :D)
I just click on my quotes and go through until I find where I said it last. Then just copy/paste from there, usually tweaking a few things pending the exact thread in question (like my original SWAT SWF thing is longer than what I copy/pasted here but I removed parts that didn't seem relevant to this particular discussion)

The problem is that I don't know how you could solve Group 2 without directly hurting Group 1
My two cents: In most video games, "I want to have fun with X" isn't a very good counterargument to "X is overpowered and should be balanced."
Then you might as well put a bullet in the game and put it out of it's misery
There are a lot of people who play in that Group 1. That is a lot of people who will abandon the game if you decide to just strip it away or punish it enough that people decide that you've made it too big of a hurdle to overcome if a couple of buddies just want to have fun and play with their friends.
-
The issue is there are two kinds of SWF groups
- The group of friends who want to play together
- The SWAT Team
Group 1 is great to play with. They're fun; they get to have a good time with their friends while I as the killer get to go through my normal Killer Duties and stab people
Group 2 is the problem. While this may be anecdotal evidence, I have found that the SWAT Team is usually not only damn impossible to beat since they are in constant communication with each other but they're always the biggest toxic ######### to play again. If there is a cheap tactic, they'll use it and if they get any chance at all to mock the killer, they will 1000% take it.
The biggest issue that Group 2 causes though is that these are the groups killers remember and these are the groups that make killers quit the game because they're not only frustrating to play from a game-play standpoint, they always seem to make sure to rub it in your face and make the experience as awful as humanly possible.
The problem is that I don't know how you could solve Group 2 without directly hurting Group 1

Do note that many of these players could just have really good map awareness.
Not Otz is a twitch streamer that has enough awareness to pull off what you are observing consistently and explains his reasoning for going where he goes in real time as he streams, so a sufficiently good Killer could definitely give the appearance of wall hacks.
I've even had someone claim I was using wall hacks on a particularly good game.
This
It's amazing how clever some survivors think they're being and are baffled how I could possibly predict what they're doing based on my experience with other super clever survivors.
OP: It's certainly not impossible people are cheating but it's just as likely as you're dealing with more experienced killers who know the tricks of the survivor trade. If you do think shenanigans are afoot, you can send the report and see what happens. Not like it'll hurt as I would think BHVR could look more into it to determine if somethin shady is happening.
-
The cakes will still be useable, you just won't be able to unlock more of them in the bloodweb.
-
I just unlocked Oni as I always get whooped by him when I face him as a survivor.
Mad props to those of you who are good with him because he is WAY harder to use than I expected.
I'm sure after some practice, I can hopefully get good with him but my last game had a survivor take pity on me and gave me a kill (2nd game I've ever used Oni).
I'm Red Ranked 1 damn it, I shouldn't need survivor pity to get a kill :D
-
The cakes seem WAY more generous on the killer side then the survivor side I've noticed (I essentially stopped playing survivor for the event for that very reason). I get 1-3 cakes PER Bloodweb on killer side where surv I get a cake about every 1-2 Bloodweb
So while I'd like more cakes in my matches, I kind of understand why there are so many not using them in my matches.
-
There is nothing you can do in the game that makes you (or your opponent) lose points.
-
I do not camp or tunnel
I have been accused of doing both of these actions plenty of times
There are plenty of survivors where they died not because they were dumb or played badly or were just plain unlucky; it's always the killer "cheating" that got them killed
