I don't really care either way. Free stuff is nice but I'm not all that concerned that they don't give free stuff out for an event (I'm happy enough with extra BP).
That said, it feels like your argument can just as easily be flipped. A lot of people right now are squeezed to feed their family, let alone buy some digital clothing. A lot of goodwill can be made with giving out some free digital swag...

The next Archive is with Blight, isn't it?
This one is going to suck so freaking much. Like...this POV absolutely sucks. You can't see ######### unless you're right on top of the survivor. Any map with grass longer than knee high and the survivors might as well be the damn Predator because they just disappear...
-
I don't main any killer (my scatter brain is constantly switching killers) but Myers is one that I really like to use. However, I have basically accepted at this point that it's rare I get 4K with him (I need to either get really lucky with progressing his Tiers ASAP or run into fake high ranked survivors who are not as good as their rank implies).
That's probably not what you wanted to hear but there are very few killers in this game that you can reliably count on to win you games at high ranks if you're up against competent opponents. It's probably not impossible but in my experience at least, Myers isn't one of them.
Honestly I just hit a point where I just don't care about ranking up or down and just try to play the killers I want for fun rather than worrying about my points and rank and whatnot.
-
It is an incredibly stupid and irksome mechanic, especially considering consoles still get the occasional framerate hiccup.
Know what happens when you get a framerate hiccup during the struggle phase?
Thanks BHVR! I know you say you don't change it because of "immersion" but what gets me knocked the ######### out of immersion is getting killed because your game took a dump for a second or two and it got me killed.
-
Maybe but that is like saying it's better to get stabbed in the gut rather than shot in the face; maybe "technically" true but either way you're in for a bad time.
-
I'm either dum or boring because I don't use any Meta Perks on my survivor (or at least what you have listed as Meta).
Maybe that's why I keep dying though :D
-
Agreed. Especially in corn levels, you're basically screwed using Blight. All the survivor has to do is crouch walk and you've now lost them as marks are the only way to see a dang survivor in there with his ankle biter view...
My assumption is he's taller but he's crouched down (like a hunchback) so the POV displays accordingly but it really sucks :(
-
-
Honestly, I give them a Mulligan at that point.
I'll wander away and let them get unhooked and then give them a bit to heal up.
Part of it is trying to be sporting but most of it is that I'm not going to get a lot of points if I take two out that quickly.
-
The problem is against solos or small SWFs, the gen times are not all that bad.
You run into issues when you run into the SWAT Team SWF. The coordination that they can get with everyone being on a mic and everyone taking it as seriously as a SEAL TEAM 6 raid on Bin Laden, there's not a whole lot you can do about it.
The problem with increasing gen times is that STILL wouldn't bother the SWAT SWF as that kind of coordination is virtually unbeatable so all you'd do is make solos and friends just trying to have fun into a miserable slog of an experience...
-
I got sooooooooo lucky with that achievement. It was my first time actively going for it.
The first guy I ran into is either dumb as a rock or doesn't understand how Meyers works or what because he sat there out in the open t-bagging me...
I get to T3 and murder him. Find the next two people and murder them as well. I find the last person and I ######### up. I had never actually used that item (the one that let's Meyers just murder people, the tombstone thing) so when I went to hit the last person, I lunged on accident and downed them. I pick them up and let them escape and in the great kindness of their hearts stand there and waits for me to unstun so that I can finish them off before my last T3 was up. Had they ran, I doubt I'd have caught them in time to use T3 to murder them...
-
I've never liked looping (as a killer or a survivor).
I'm here to play a horror game, not Scooby Doo.
-
Because BHVR hates you
Not a general you, YOU specifically sluc16
They said "How can we make sluc16 have a bad time?" . They then created The Doctor.
-
If chasing is your thing, Leatherface is probably your best bet. Plus BBQ & Chill is a really nice killer perk for the 2x Bloodpoints.

Another satisfying perk that benefit from teabagers is Blood Warden. It's a bit situational but if you often get into situation when everyone is alive at the end of the match it might help.
I really shouldn't run Blood Warden because it's a perk that rarely comes into play since it's so situational. Especially at Red Ranks where I'm at since they're usually experienced enough to 99 gates
BUT when you get that 1 game out of 100 where you just get an entire team of jerks mocking you, only for them to slip up JUST enough to let you take one down and activate BW on the other 3. My God, I don't know if there's a better feeling in this game to sit there and watch them realize that they screwed up and screwed up bad...
I had a group versus Oni. They sat at the gates teabagging with killer shack right in front of it. Presumably they realized I wasn't going to let them mock me to my face so of course they all just take turns jumping in and out of the window to blast the noise notification constantly at me. Finally I give in, get my powers and rush them. One guy mistimed his window jump and Oni smush him good. Hook him and they swarm, unhooking him immediately...exactly what I wanted. Oh hey timer, you are now at 30 seconds but BW has 40 left on it. Oh...what a shame. Swarm me and grind me all you want survivors, I'm just gonna stand here with the biggest ######### eating grin in the world on my face as The Entity is coming to claim you all for your assholey ways...
It's so rare but I don't want to take BW off because it's sooooooooooooooo ######### satisfying when it happens.

You're certainly not alone
I've been playing since February so I too am (relatively) new at this game. I've hit the point a few times where I've felt like I'm just done but I always come crawling back like the lil ######### I am :D
Ultimately it comes down to the fun v frustration balance. When I first started, the fun heavily outweighed frustration, even with the new player issues (not quite knowing what I'm doing, running into killers I couldn't figure out how to handle, dealing with campers as new killers tend to gravitate towards the new killer tactics like camping).
However, the more I play, the less this balance is on the fun side and goes to the frustration side. Maybe that's just the way it goes as I'm in high ranks now (I haven't been RR1 in a while but I'm almost always in Red Ranks). Killers and Survivors at Red Ranks have been around the block at this point and know exactly what they need to do to be the most efficient and win.
As a killer, it feels often like there's really nothing you can do about it because everybody knows what they should be doing and they do it very well. As a survivor, I often wonder where in the hell all these players that I go up against as killer are as I have run into some of the dumbest, most cowardly players ever as I only play solo in this game (how some of these people are allegedly red ranks is baffling).
For now at least, I enjoy the game enough that I keep playing but who knows how long that will last now?
-
The game having been out for two years (at least according to The Google dot com) and this is the first I've ever heard of it might have something to do with it doing poorly...
You say it's nothing like DBD but the description on the Steam page makes it sound a LOT like DBD...specifically:
"In the strange and lifeless scene, four gamblers are trying to run away from the devil, but there is no exit. All they can do is to perform a mystery sealing ritual to expel the devil and redeem their souls."
You run away from a monster trying to take you out in an arena with no exits and you have to do certain tasks in order to unlock the power needed to escape...
Yeah, have no idea how anyone thought this was similar to DBD with a description like that :D
-
Eh, I've never had an issue with hitting Level 70.
Maybe I just play this game too damn much or what but Tomb IV had JUST opened up when I hit Level 70 in it
I suppose it's probably the smart thing to do since you never know what might happen but I figure if it ever happens that I have stopped playing the game and therefore don't complete the Rift, it's likely that I've quit playing the game (or something bad has happened to me in which case worrying about my Rift Pass is probably the last thing on my mind).
-
It is pretty poorly worded
Either that or I'm just as dum as I thought the same exact thing when I first bought the rift (I had started playing the game in the middle of a Rift thingy and didn't really think about the time remaining I had).
After re-reading it a few times, I understood what it was talking about but at first glance, I thought the same exact thing (unlocks a full page, not just A single item)

All except Deja Vu.
Poor Guy...
...CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
The thing that Deja Vu does to help keep you from making a big mistake is that it helps you as a survivor see where the "three gen" zone is so you know to go after one of those gens early to not make the grave mistake of "Three Genning" yourselves.
*Mic Drop*
-
So....every perk?
Every single perk in the game exists to assist the player and help them make up their mistakes. Even the worst of the worst perks exist to help you either from making mistakes or helping you make up from your mistake.
-
It does not work if you do not also submit a ticket with it. It's super dumb but you have to report In-Game and then also submit a ticket with video evidence of the match in question
Most commonly asked questions about CrossplayYou can see "Submit a Ticket" here as an option
-
I do not do it but it was explained to me that a more inexperienced killer can easily get flustered by it (it's unexpected and you generally can't turn around fast enough as the killer to get the hit unless you start immediately). It then will put the inexperienced killer in a bit of a freeze as they're not sure what just happened or how to react to it.
-
######### are gonna #########. It's a fact of DBD
If you didn't break their imaginary rule of "No playing Pyramid Head", they'd have a different reason for why you were a toxic jerk and therefore required being mocked and ridiculed.
-
-
Well...yeah. If there's no killer chasing anyone or making survivors kill time with healing or unhooking, what the hell else are the survivors going to do?

BT I can understand. Yes, that is what BT does and wish more of my teammates would do.
DS is meh, just eat the DS or go away depending on situation and number of gens done.
I am not one to tunnel but if you have BT protecting you and you dive bomb in my way as the killer expecting BT to protect you, you're going to be in a world of disappointment when I just wait 20 seconds to hit you back down. You prevented me from going after my target so guess who gets to be my target now?
You can't beg for attention slamming into me and then whine when I decide to give you attention...

Why aren't you trusted anymore?
I don't think I was ever "trusted" (or if I was, no one told me about it and then no one told me it was taken away :D).
-
Another vote for Bubba
Even with the cooldown that supposedly ruined everyone's ability to chainsaw, I still pretty much just get them to chase with a revved chainsaw and down me.
I can't tell if it's a Me problem in that I don't know how to effectively dodge or what. Although some Bubba's I can easily dodge so maybe like Nurse or Huntress, in the hands of someone who really knows what they're doing, you're just kind of screwed...
Although speaking of Nurse and Huntress, them as well in the hands of someone who is good with them.
-
Dwight not only dies within the first week but he's the survivor who gets bit but hides it until he eventually turns at just the moment no one is paying attention and he takes a chunk out of someone's neck
-
Slugging in a vacuum isn't a bad thing but generally the slugging people complain about is at the endgame. Either the killer wants 4 kills so they slug survivor #3 so we get to sit there while the killer goes play hide & go seek with the last survivor or they're just an ass who slugs the last survivor and sits there wasting everyone's time waiting for you to bleed out instead of finishing the game with a hook.

I usually just use it as an opportunity to see the game from the survivor's point of view to see where I made mistakes.

I usually get excited to see a TTV because I love going to their channel after the fact and watching from the survivors perspective.

>BHVR creates an self learning AI

:D

It's amazing to me as a killer how often survivors loop the hook. Like...this isn't ending well for you OR the currently hooked. At least if you ran that way, the survivor on the hook could get unhooked in relative safety. You're a ranked red survivor (or should be if MM didn't break); act like it.
As a selfish ######### play, I at least understand why a survivor might lead me back to the hooked ("tunnel the hooked guy killer, an easy target so you'll leave me alone!" -selfish ######### survivor probably) but people who just loop the hook or near enough that it might as well be looping the hook are just silly.

It's absolutely baffling how this ######### hasn't been fixed yet. I just had a game that the players completely took advantage of it (the person would get stuck and not hooked, I'd drop and pick them up and then they would either flashlight save or body block so the person I'm trying to hook wiggles free and so as an aside, ######### YOU to those four players, you ######### cocks).
Like, I'm ######### steaming right now and am highly considering just uninstalling this game and being done. The game is becoming less and less fun and when ######### like this happens, I get a lot angrier and pissed off than I really should. But how this wasn't fixed like....HOURS after it was discovered, let alone weeks now just feels like a big ol ######### You to me as a killer. This is a basic function of the game for the killers and it's utterly crippled right now. I'm sure once I calm down and take the time to reinstall the game, I'll regret these harsh words but right now, BHVR, this is absolutely pathetic and you should be ashamed that this ######### isn't sorted out yet.
I regret nothing!
Now I don't know how closely BHVR monitors these things. We see the devs pop into threads every so often but who knows how much they actually follow discussions outside of the obvious easy ones where they don't need to answer tough questions...so it's likely BHVR will not ever see my follow-up message but I'm going to type it out anyway for my own sake.
I really do enjoy this game. I wouldn't subject myself to all the garbage (the bugs, toxic players, boring games when people just want to farm but neglected to tell anyone, the bugs, balance issues, did I mention the bugs yet?) if I didn't really enjoy the game. But it's becoming harder and harder to justify coming back when issues like this keep happening (and I've only been playing since February, I can't imagine someone from before then at least based on what I've heard sticking around for so long).
I'm just one person (who doesn't even buy cosmetics, though I do buy the DLC and I bought the Battlepass or whatever we call it here, though only once because I play often enough to easily get the money back to buy it again) so who cares but I can't imagine I'm the only one thinking like this at this point. Please BHVR, for your sake and for mine because I really do (mostly) enjoy this game, sort your ish out. Please. ðŸ˜

I ran into my first yesterday. It was absolutely clear they were hacking (they could put themselves "on a hook" at will but it wouldn't hurt them, they basically just hung wherever they were standing but it healed them and I couldn't pick them up or interact with them when they did it. They also could Sonic the Hedgehog speed away and instantly heal their fellow survivors).
I'd be more irked but I was doing my Pig daily (4 dash attacks). I rarely use the dash attack in the game so being able to just continually dash attack the hacker let me get my daily done with ease so I can only be so mad at them :D
-
I can't speak for other killers but I don't tunnel/camp/Mori because I feel like the game is a lot less fun for ME that way. If my options are tunnel/camp/Mori but win a funless match or not use those options and lose a fun match, I'll take losing every time.
NOED I don't use because I don't like how unreliable it is. I just find that more often than not, survivors clear out NOED before I get the chance to use it (or if they don't, I get to use it once and then it gets cleared out).
-
I love playing against them as a killer because so many think that I'm a T Rex so if they just don't move, I won't see them.
Chases are so much easier when your victim stands still :D
-
I feel like BHVR just rolls a pair of dice to determine what gets what rank. There are some awful "high ranked" perks and some pretty good "low ranked" perks...
-
I haven't run into any more (illegal) issues than I had before crossplay. If someone has ever hacked the game, they were subtle enough that I couldn't tell and lag-switch (or maybe just bad connections) have always been kind of an issue for the game.
The only thing that I don't like about it are there are certain killers that are a huge advantage on the PC. When I run into a Nurse that can travel halfway across the map and then blink themselves right into your teeth, I know that was a PC Nurse. Or when I run into a Huntress that could bullseye a Womp Rat from across the map, I know that's a PC Huntress.
Other than that, I've had no issues with the crossplay.

That still wastes time and if you have to walk a decent ways to hook them then they'll just wiggle off.
Not only does it kill precious seconds, I've had survivors try to blind me when I drop the survivor and pick them back up.
So far at least, none have succeeded but it seems like it's just a matter of time before this bug really screws me...
-
I don't give hatch all the time (usually it depends on where I am in points) but anyone who tbags by default is not eligible for being let go.
-
I don't hate it but there's not a lot more deflating then finally downing a survivor you've been chasing only for them to pop up while you are walking over to pick them up.
Now granted, this doesn't happen very often because the timing has to be pretty precise for you to get that unlucky but it's soul crushing when it happens.
I know other people seem to really hate it so I can't really answer for them. I don't know if it's for the reason above and they just resent it more than I do or if there are other reasons besides that.
-
I wasn't having any issues with the game until this patch/DLC
I now completely understand why everyone was so upset with the framerate issues on Xbox as now mine is doing it. Like...playing killer is downright broken right now. I think a good half of my chases are lost, not because they outplayed me or I made a mistake, but because the game does a big stutter step and now I have no clue where the hell the survivor just went.
There's not a nice way to put how pathetic this is (especially if all those reports pre-patch are all legit and people have been having framerate problems before the newest patch). I guess the only thing I can do like many of the killers on Xbox is hang up my blade until you guys get your game figured out.
-
Alternatively, I see the survivor at the beginning of the game dropping all the pallets as myself investing in my future kills. Sure, it took me two minutes to take out the survivor cause I kept having to stop to kick pallets but when there are 2 gens left, survivors no longer have anything to drop on me. The tables will turn and they will turn fast as long as you're keeping your cool.
-
I couldn't tell you. I'm on console and I rarely use NOED (basically only when I'm first leveling up a killer and don't have another perk worth using yet).
I generally don't use any HEX perks as I find they're too easy for survivors to deal with
-
As a survivor, I just take the hit. I'm not going to hide like the other guy and waste a bunch of my free time just to get the possible Hatch escape. I'll be over here working on a gen and playing as normal. If the killer kills me and the hider gets away because all they did was hide, so be it.
As a killer, I try to keep in mind these things as well but since I can't see anyone anyway, I have no real decent way to tell if you're pointing out the other survivor because they're just hiding or if you're trying to save your own skin and screw over your teammate. If it's been more than a couple of minutes though and I see no gens being done, I'm going to slug #3 and try to track down #4. If you clowns are going to waste my time with your impromptu hide & go seek game, you can lie on the ground and think about what you've done.
-
Same here. Most of the time I just need to keep slamming into the hook and pushing the button and they hook. One time I just had to drop the survivor on the ground cause I was running out of time and figured a "slug" was better than them wiggling away...
