  • But if horror movies have taught us anything, it's that Ace will unload into the killer and breath a sigh of relief. He will then either

    A. Check to see if the killer is REALLY dead, which is when the killer reaches up and slits his throat.

    B. He will just run away and unlock the gate. Breathing a sigh of relief, he stands before the gate as it opens, revealing the killer behind it who lifts Ace up by the neck before ripping his guts out

Unless he's the Final Girl that is, in which case she'll survive only to be immediately killed in the sequel to show the audience that no one is safe

  • I wear The Mr Puddles body but the Clown Mask head cause I think it's funniest. Do I not get the buff or do I only get one of the two buffs or do I get full credit for having some of the right costume?

  • It does suck having the DC Ban because the game crashes. I've never gotten THAT long of a DC Ban because the game crashes but I've gotten a few 15 minute bans because the game crashes on Xbox One every so often and it happened to happen 4 times over a night of playing.

Honestly what sucks most to me at least is when I use a good item or offering (or see that another player has used a BPS or something of that nature) and it crashes :(

  • Like...I get why a survivor might try to dive bomb me as the killer to get me to hit them and let their teammate who unhooked them get away

But then that same survivor can't come back and whine at me that I'm tunneling them. You ran right at me and tripped me up so I wouldn't be able to go after the other guy like I wanted to. You wanted my attention so guess what champ, you now have it...

  • That is how you do it

Unfortunately unless you know four other people who will do a custom game with you, taking your lumps and learning under fire is the only real way to do it.

  • I disagree, I think it's super fun when I get the team sitting there T-Bagging that only learns how they done screwed up and screwed up bad when they turn around to leave :D

  • Well the screenshot breaks the forum rule of Naming and Shaming so I'd recommend just doing the normal report ticket (sounds like you did) and deleting the screenshot.

  • I'm just going to play the game as I normally do (survivor in the morning, killer in the evening as the queues are short for each side then).

I'm not even sure how much it'll matter. I do get BL1 once in a while but I'm usually getting it right before I catch the survivor anyway.

If it turns out to be a huge gamebreaker, I'll just go play something else for the time being but I expect it to barely matter. It'll be interesting to see if I'm right...

  • Good! My play style is to try to play fairly and with sportsmanship (no tunnel, no camping, no actions to mock the killer, etc) . I want to make it so everyone can enjoy the game as much as possible and you're gonna sit there and take it!!! Wha ha haaaaa!

  • I have the rift because having some variety in skins is nice and I play the game often enough that I've only had to pay for it once (since you get enough cells to buy it again if you complete it).

I've never bought a cosmetic because I don't care THAT much about my characters looks. I'm perfectly content with the variety The Rift stuff gives me.

  • I've had those matches before...

One of these days I'll wise up and quit :D

Probably not today. But maybe one day!

  • It can be kind of a Hell

The issue to me at least is that at Red Ranks, survivors (generally) know what they are actually doing (unless I'm a survivor of course, then I get the red ranks who have also somehow never played the game in their life). The speed the gens go, using perks effectively, and the using loops effectively and all that stuff that balances out well at lower ranks as survivors are just not as experienced can be absolutely brutal at Red Ranks.

You have to be as effective as humanly possible as killer to have a chance and with how effective survivors who know what they're doing at, any mistake you make is magnified and will likely cost you dearly.

  • I'm guessing outside the forum, no one has any idea what the hell that means :D

Hell, I'm on the forum and a few months into my play as Pig, I got a message from a survivor saying they were sad they didn't get to boop the snoot, which baffled the hell out of me (I assumed they were mocking me as a killer as that game didn't go well at all...). I think people tend to forget that we might have 5% of the population of people who regularly play this game and everyone else just plays the game and goes on with their life...

It wasn't until a few days later when I decided to Google it that I found out that booping the snooting was a thing. So now at the gates, I will give people the chance to boop and if a killer is crouched down at the gate waiting for me, I will waddle up to boop them.

  • He's not "evil" in the same way that some of the killers like Freddy Krueger are evil. Basically LF has been told his entire life that people coming onto their land are monsters who will take him away from his family so he must defend the family and the land at all cost.

He's no more evil than a lion taking down a gazelle. However, I'm not sure what kind of comfort that is going to be to the gazelle to let it know that it's not the lions fault, this is just it's nature...

I think that survivors who use a Midwich offering with multiple Objects know exactly what they’re doing, and deserve no sympathy whatsoever.

    This

I'd add more but really, what else needs to be said?

I thought it was pretty much accepted that, if someone gets downed by NOED, the other survivors should just leave in order to deny more easy kills for the killer

My order is open the gate (or 99 it), look for the lit totem, and either cleanse it and then go for the rescue or abandon the poor bastard hooked if the killer comes sniffing my direction.

All going for the hooked guy with NOED still on the board generally does is get more people killed.

OP: As someone who runs Inner Strength, I'm always looking for totems. However as a solo, I can virtually guarantee that NOED will be in play at the end anyway cause I'm pretty sure everyone else flat out refuses to do bones.

  • If I know it's coming, I can generally hit it 1 out of every 3 times give or take. I've been playing since February and have been Red Ranked for a lot of that time but the Overcharge shot is still tricky to hit :(

Funny enough though, that can sometimes work in your favor as a survivor. I've had gens where I blew it on OC, hid until the killer came to re-kick it, then hit the skill check the next OC try. A lot of killers with OC just don't come back to gens if they don't blow.

  • I was a Mod once (not here obviously).

It's a super thankless job mostly filled with people whining at you for being unfair or for enforcing rules you have no say or control of.

Respect for anyone willing to deal with that ish

My favorites were the "I'm here to break a rule but I don't like the rule so suck it! If the Mods ban me, it'll just be proof that they're all corrupt!!!!". Always gave me a chuckle before I banned their dumbasses :D

  • I can't imagine you're going to get a lot of people arguing that Suicide on Hook is a fair and sporting way to play.

Although this is The Internet Dot Com so it has surprised me before but outside of a few specific scenarios (like you're with a crew of Blendettes you can see hiding in three different corners while you hang on the hook), I think most everyone would agree that it's a ######### move to pull...

Everyone is guilty of tbagging, it's fun and if it really hurts your feelings, a pair should be grown. It's a game

Speak for yourself. I will not and never will tbag a killer. It's nothing but a dick move so I don't ever do it.

I often run Deerstalker as a fourth perk. So by all means, crawl around before healing. 😄

So you're the one killer who actually uses Deerstalker! :P

  • You realize having a swear in your title is going to break the quoting system so no one can quote anyone, right?

Well now you do! I got 99 Problems but The Gate ain't one!

I'm kind of torn on it. On one hand, it is super annoying, especially as someone who runs Blood Warden. On the other hand, I've actually taken out survivors because they 99 the Gate but that second it takes them to get to the box and squeeze through the gate opening has been enough time to get them killed.

I don't know if having the Gates regress would be a good idea or not but I do think that having a perk (maybe attach it to "Remember Me") would be a good start. Go from there and see how it works out and decide from there if that is something that would work out well for the general gate or keep it a perk thingy

  • Solo Ranks are basically the lottery. Once in a while you win a little bit of money but usually all you've done is pissed money down the drain for nothing.

Sometimes you get some really good teammates as a solo (or more likely, A good teammate with two other potatoes). Sometimes you get three potatoes. Once in a Blue Moon, you get a team of people who actually know what the hell they're doing :D

I don't need three John Rambo's game! I just want three quasi-competent teammates. Is that too much to ask for?!?!? D:

So you disconnected intentionally and are complaining about getting a disconnection penalty? Seems legit...

    consequences.jpg

    Thread in a nutshell

At least the people complaining about the game crashing causing them a DC have a legitimate reason to complain...

  • I disagree

I will crawl so that I'm not in the same spot I was when the killer downed me. Them being able to walk right back to where I was 30 seconds ago is going to get me killed as it's very unlikely that one of you has come to pick me up that quickly.

Once I've crawled at least a little away to at least try to make it harder for the killer to find me if they come back, then I will recover. But until I've stopped crawling, get the hell away from me because all you're going to do is get me killed because you insist on trying to pick me up ASAP and just become a big "Hey Killer, the guy you downed is right here!!!" arrow...

  • I hate Billy. I've never liked using him as I find that everyone else can be a God with the chainsaw while I flail around like a goldfish whose bowl just fell off the counter and smashed on the ground...

I ended up getting it thanks to my favorite troll killing perk; Blood Warden!

The two survivors either didn't notice or didn't bother to run as I chainsawed one down and then got the other one trying to run out of the gated area once they realized their oopsy.

Not sure if that will help you but that was my trick

  • I'm gonna build a bunch more hooks! Big, beautiful hooks! We're gonna make The Survivors pay for it!!!

Why does everyone have to announce their leave? Cool. Do you want a going away party or something?

Can I have a going away party when I finally wise up and quit?

    😅

  • One of these days I'll wise up, make my own "I'm leaving forever, goodbye!!!!" thread, and then actually leave forever

It probably should be today but I'm too stupid to do that...

See you guys in the next "I'm Leaving!!!" thread when I repeat the same thing until I eventually realize playing this game brings me nothing but misery!

  • Some of it is the survivors being dumb, some of it is the survivors hoping that you didn't see them in their spot, and some of them (specifically the BT Bodyblock and baiting an early swing) do it because it works against a lot of killers.

Honestly for the most part, a lot of survivors do all of those things because they do sometimes work. Experience is a harsh mistress and many killers just don't have that experience to not fall for some of the trickier survivor tricks. It's not an insult to you; they do it because some of time it works and they won't know if it'll work on you until they try it.

  • Every killer gets those messages, regardless of whether you hooked or tunneled, you get angry messages about you hooking or tunneling.

I just send them a Thumbs Up because they either don't speak again or they speak a LOT and that entertains me

  • Take it up with The Entity 🤷‍♂️

  • If the person hiring you to kill someone said "I want them to suffer as much as humanly possibly before you kill them or I'm only giving you 50% of the money", you can't be shocked when you walk up to your target and put a bullet in their head and ask for your million dollars. You're getting 50% of your money because killing your target wasn't the entire purpose of your mission.

Now replace "Hired Hitman" with Killer and The Entity with "Person Hiring You". Now you understand why you get less points for just slaughtering the survivors.

  • I would love to have Kindred be base since as a Solo, I basically need it to be a decent team player. Unless I absolutely have to, I generally won't even play as a survivor until I have Kindred unlocked.

Sure, you don't "technically" need it in the same way you don't "technically" need two hands in a boxing match! Or maybe I'm the only loser solo player who feels like they have a hand tied behind their back when they don't have Kindred. Just so much wasted time going to hooks when a teammate is already going...such sadness :,(

might allow the killer see a key....

I would love to be able to spin survivors as the killer! Some of those sneaky bastards hide the key in their back pocket in the lobby so I want to turn them around and see what they have hiding!!!

  • Presumably they are hoping that you got to their Twitch Stream

  • It was my understanding that the Blight Serum worked still for survivors but it was deactivated for killers once the event was over

I found the ######### absolutely useless so I used it about twice and threw them all away

  • Ask 100 different forum members and you'll get 100 different answers for what is the "proper" etiquette in the game...

    For me, it is this:

-Use whatever perks you want, if people don't like it, that sounds like a THEM problem, not a YOU problem

-Don't teabag the killer or do the rapid clicky the flashlight. It's annoying and irksome and guarantees that you won't be getting mercy from me

-Don't camp the hooks. It's super boring for both sides. Same with tunneling (where you only go after a single survivor and ignore all others, no matter the situation). You can certainly do both if you really want to but it's super boring.

There are plenty others but those are the main ones

  • If only there was a big-ass thread talking about this very thing, still on the first page even (at the time of this comment)...

The amount of salt from survivors in chat after I run straight past them is amazing.

Firstly when I play survivor I play as a team but try and cobi in front of my face when I run a map to unhook you...

Secondly I don't want their salt afterwards, I just don't want to play in a game with them period.

I would never try and do the same so expect them not to be toxic and attempt to do so.

I get that kids watch their toxic heros and try to emulate them but am I wrong in letting them attempt to continue to cobi before deciding whether to unhook them on the next phase?

If such a thing existed, you'd probably get plenty of discussion and why some feel it is toxic and others feel like it's no big deal...

Very few killers actually give survivors that don't wiggle the hatch. I come across more that will drop me in front of the hatch and close it in my face when I don't wiggle than will actually give me the hatch. Atleast if I wiggle I get some extra points.

    This

It's the same thing I said in the "why don't killers go to the gate" thread but the other side. There might be a handful of killers looking to be nice but it's all been pissed away by killers being ######### about the hatch.

At least wiggling gets me a few free points and if the killer really does want to be nice, they can let me wiggle free and I'll go to the hatch myself.

  • I for one would greatly enjoy making the Zoidberg whooping sound anytime I ran away from the killer.

I'm not sure if they'll take pity on this clearly pathetic creature or single it out for Death but either way!

  • As a survivor, I'd think 7 out of 10. If I used the " meta" perks I'd probably be higher but they're soooooo booooooring. I know how to loop and I have the map awareness to win more chases than lose (unless the killer is super persistent but even then I call that a win as the other survivors should be cranking through gens like mad men). I also play only solo queue so by default I feel like I get extra points :D

As a killer, I'd put myself at an 8 or so. Obviously this can vary greatly pending which killer I am (give me Billy and I'm like...-5 but give me my boy Oni...) but I feel like I am pretty good at killer. I play as a "sporting" killer (so no tunneling or camping and if I am decimating a group, I'll pump the brakes a little) so it's kind of hard to say for sure how good I actually am given my kill rate but I know where peeps like to hide, I know tactics of when to chase and when to break, how to hit a survivor looping, etc.

  • I feel like I have pretty good awareness, especially when it comes to hiding survivors. Maybe it's just experience at this point but if I am having trouble finding people, I usually have a good idea where they ran off to.

Although it is fun seeing a Twitch survivor now as I watch from their end (after the game of course). It's amazing how often I'll have walked by a survivor and had I turned left instead of right, I'd have slammed right into them.

  • We quite literally just had a thread on this so I'll just say what I said there...

9 times out of 10, survivors sitting in the Gate just want to be #########. Unfortunately for that 1 out of 10 person who legitimately wants to give a free hit for a few more BP, the 9 out of 10 have ruined it by sitting there t-bagging and then not even having the decency of letting me get the one extra hit in for the few BP it's worth.

So yeah, if I know you're all at the gate, you guys can sit around in your circle jerk all you want. I'm gonna wander away over here and hope one of you is dumb enough to mistime it and get yourself killed instead by The Entity.

Just leave so we can move on with our lives please

  • Naming and Shaming is super against the forum rules. I would strongly recommend trashing your thread with an edit and walkin away.

I'm....not sure what else to say here. I just kind of wanted to make The Joker...er....joke.
