I think it kinda goes both ways.
If I saw one or multiple teammates using more than a couple bad, random, or not fully upgraded perks, I’d probably dodge the lobby. Often times, at the end game screen, I’ll notice that the person who died first usually doesn’t have a good loadout. Obviously player skill is a huge factor but it’s just an observation. Waiting for a survivor game can be tedious, but finally getting into a match just to lose quickly and go into a 3 vs 1 is worse in my opinion.
This change can also be good though. If I don’t see anyone running DS or a perk that creates an obsession, I’ll most likely put one on just so the killer has to think twice about picking someone up right after they’ve been hooked
-
I think it puts killers in an unfavorable position especially when there's 1-2 gens left or if EGC is active. When I play killer in the higher ranks and I see there's an obsession, I automatically assume people have DS. Therefore, I will usually slug the person who got unhooked in order to wait out the timer. Now if you throw in DS + Unbreakable it kinda makes it a lose-lose situation since slugging the person to avoid DS instead allows them to pick themselves up. Either way you lose map pressure but it is still winnable as killer

It's fun to hear it's much better! What did you mean when you said it's easier to track survivors better when they try to juke you?
Because the frame rate would be so slow and choppy, I personally found it hard to keep up with quick survivor movements. It also made playing aim-dependent or fast dashing killers such as Huntress, Blight, Oni, and Deathslinger harder to use effectively
-
I'm on series X. Overall, it is a massive improvement in terms of frame rate, loading speed, and graphics. You no longer get those lag spikes whenever sloppy butcher, exposed, bloodlust, freddy dream world, dead hard, etc activates. Playing killer is much more manageable now because you can track survivors better when they try to spin/juke you
-
This issue is fixed now. Just restarted my game and everything is working
-
Yea this is a solid loadout. You can probably make Spine Chill your swappable perk in case you wanna switch things up or go for a challenge
-
Yup I'm on series x too and I just noticed this today. I only match up with series x people whether I play survivor or killer.
Also I don't even have the option to enable/disable crossplay in the options menu

Yes progress carries over.
But don't bother doing a hard drive transfer. Once you install the game it will need to update to the XS version anyway, which is a bigger file than the original game. You are better off just signing into your XBL account on Series X, then installing the game directly from the store as the XS version.
Also be warned, you can only play on Series X using crossplay because according to apparently BHVR and no one else, Series X is a new platform and not the same as Xbox One (despite literally NO other game requiring crossplay or even having it available). So be ready for that BS.
Yup I switched from xbox one to series x and I immediately noticed that everyone I was matched with had the crossplay symbol 9.9 times out of 10. Disabling crossplay considerably increases your wait times

But then you can't use kick the gen perks and they would all have to be reworked
Exactly. /threadclosed

NICE!!!! We did it guys!
-
We already do that for the cosmetics, DLC killers/perks, and Rift pass though

It's the same on PS5, I definitely think it's way too small that it looks weird. Don't get me wrong, I don't like menus or HUD that are huge but this one is too small for me. Does XSX have the same issue where purchased DLC doesn't work on other accounts other than the account that made the purchase?
I’m on series x. I just checked and for me I had to find + redownload the DLCs in order for them to show up on all my accounts.
-
I’m saying this for a friend but he would like Pyramid Head to bear hug him and do him dirty up the pooper. But again that’s his opinion and not mine
-
I noticed this too. Seems like I get matched with more crossplay people rather than xbox players

It works! All is forgiven.
Partially* forgiven. Let’s not forget this took 4 days to get out as well as little to no direct communication from the devs

Guys, there's a new hot fix patch that just went live a few minutes ago. Restart your xbox and download it. I can confirm the game works fine now on xbox series x
-
I can confirm that this is probably the patch for xbox series x people. I restarted my xbox, downloaded the patch, and the game runs fine now. No crashes or freezes
-
I'm pretty sure it's the hot fix patch for xbox series x people because the game actually works now
-
NEW HOT FIX PATCH FOR XBOX SERIES X IS LIVE. RESTART YOUR XBOX AND DOWNLOAD IT. GAME WORKS NOW
-
Yea I can imagine all the devs patting themselves on the back for a good PS5 launch, new leatherface cosmetic, new DLC, streamer boxes, and Rift pass sales while xbox people get entirely f'd over. Actually guys I think we're being too harsh on them. They deserve this weekend off
-
Sounds like a MAJOR WIN to me
-
As survivor, I recently tried out We’ll Make It and really liked insta healing teammates after unhooking them. I combined this with BT for my altruism build and it works well
-
Unfortunately no. The devs and mods keep saying they're working on it and will get it out as soon as possible. If you want to get your next gen fix though, you can make a new xbox profile and play from scratch. I know it's lame and doesn't help you progress your Rift pass but at least its something 😪
-
I was able to play DBD on my series x by making a new account and starting from scratch (only to hold me over until this god forsaken patch). I enabled cross play and noticed I mainly get matched up with either PS4/PS5 or PC players with the globe symbol.
-
I use BBQ, Ruin, Enduring, and Whispers/Spirit Fury
-
On xbox one, I would have crossplay on when I'm survivor and off for killer. However, after playing the next gen update on the series x, I will have crossplay on for both roles as I think the hardware allows for a somewhat more equal playing field.
-
Okay so I made a new xbox profile and started playing on my series x. All I can say is wow. This game runs so smooth, responsive, and crisp. Even though I’m not on my main acc and can’t progress The Rift, I’m happy. This is a complete game changer for killers especially because the limited FOV and FPS no longer feel sluggish compared to last gen. However, the game still crashes after you finish a match and try to go back to the killer main menu screen.
EDIT: The crashes are only occasional and everything saves after you close and restart the game
-
Lol that's why I decided not to wear the twitch shirt they accidentally gave everyone for Dwight and Meg because I knew I'd get tunneled or mori'd quicker than an overcharge skill check
-
Yeah or I can take this time to pick up a new killer...anything to pass the time and actually use my $500 paperweight at this point
-
Hmm so should I just make a new account and smurf as a level 20 killer? I hate to do it but you guys already know that waiting to play DBD on next gen has been 4 days too long
-
It's everyone on xbox series x/s
-
Doubt xbox players will get any compensation at all as asking for a simple hot fix patch is already pushing the limit for these developers
-
I thought it was pretty much accepted that, if someone gets downed by NOED, the other survivors should just leave in order to deny more easy kills for the killer
-
I think it’s too slow and unreliable to run by itself most of the time. When I was leveling up Claudette, I used botany knowledge + self care which was better but again that’s 2 perk slots. Unless you bring a med kit for yourself, you’re gonna spend too much of the match hiding and healing. Not to mention the abundance of perks/addons that apply mangled
-
Okay so I guess no next gen update until next week just as I expected and feared. Sucks we lost the coin flip to PS5. On the bright side, who’s hype about playing the same laggy, FPS-dropping, stuttering game this weekend while our $500 investment collects dust????
-
Yup, let’s add that to the laundry list of things to fix for the next gen consoles
-
True, I just started playing DBD a couple months ago and this whole next gen debacle has pretty much ruined my perception of these devs

Possible Xbox series X|S loop around Crash fix?
What I discovered that works so far (not 100% of the time) is I put the cursor on the left of the screen and spam A as it's loading the survivor so it instantly takes you to the bloodweb section as it's about to show up. Once done so the game freezes for a split second but then continues to play afterwards. Seems to work for me, for now anyway. Hope this helps.
Don't really understand. The game instantly freezes once you click play as survivor so there's no chance to spam any buttons while it's loading. Can you explain it better?
EDIT: Okay I tested this out multiple times on my series x but was never successful. On the main menu screen and after you click play as survivor, you still have control of the cursor as the game loads. At that point, your game either freezes instantly or it can load a little further where you can see the menu bar on the left side of the screen. I marked the spot on my TV where the blood web would be and spammed the A button to click that option. However, it always freezes and doesn't give me the chance to access the survivor blood web. I was never able to replicate your suggestion but, even if I could, it's too unreliable to do every time as I had to repeatedly open and close my game about 20 times for about 4-5 chances at even seeing the menu bar on the left.

Top tier b8 m8
-
Wow, just saw gameplay of people playing DBD on their brand new PS5s without any issues at all...now this really sucks for us
-
Lol I love how there are so many new forum posters (including me) who all made accounts over the past 1-2 days just to comment on these threads in hopes of reaching out to the developers
-
Honestly, there is more than enough evidence (videos, testimonials, etc.) at this point. They all show and describe the same problem. All that's left to do is to pray to The Entity for a relatively quick patch by Behavior
-
It's such a shame because I just checked out the optimized version of Sea of Thieves, and I was brought to tears by its amazing graphics and smooth frame rate compared to the xbox one. Just makes me wish for this updated DBD patch even more 😪
-
Yup pretty sure this game breaking crashing issue is uniform across everyone who made the effort to acquire the series x on launch day. This is simply disappointing given the history of the devs' lack of priorities for consoles in general. At the very least, you would think they would have played a single match as killer/survivor on the series x for testing purposes, but I guess not. This just proves that the whole next gen optimization patch was either to stir up hype for their new DLC or just flat out rushed to meet launch day demand...probably a mix of both to be honest. My expectations for a speedy hot fix are basically non-existent at this point, so I guess I have to continue playing on my xbox one despite the series x standing right next to it collecting dust lol
