If a survivor body blocks me when I'm trying to be a "nice" killer and going after their teammate after a unsafe hook, I am under the assumption that they are requesting that I "tunnel" them (I just wait out the 15 seconds before I smack them so they can't get their free speed boost).
You can't beg for my attention and then get mad when I give it to you.
-
I have a great way for survivors to end their chases! It's quick and easy and it'll work 100% of the time, I guarantee it!!!
š
-
[No Lie Detected]
It's amazing how many players will just hang their teammates out to dry and then whine at me for tunneling. I'm a solo player and even I know that if I have 0 hooks and the injured guy has 2 hooks, I need to step up and at least try to get the killer to come at me bro instead (if the killer really wants to tunnel them, not much I can do about it but I can at least try to get the killer to come at me instead).
As a killer, if all I have is one target to take, I'm going to take it. Sorry guy who was hooked 20 seconds ago but if you're all I can find, you're going back on the hook.
-
It is not taking the game hostage because the game will end (you're going to bleed out eventually).
It's super annoying and toxic but unless something has changed, it is not against the rules
-
They've tried this (and other punishments) before in PTB and in the most shocking twist of all shocking twists, survivors just abused it instead of using it to punish killers who were being jerks. They would loop their own hooked person and force the timer to stall out as the other two survivors hammered generators.
To me, the only thing that really needs to change is the face camped needs to be rewarded for their efforts. While it would suck to sit there and not be able to do anything, I think the sting would be considerably less if you sitting there was racking you up BP just like the rest of your team who are racking up points slamming generators. BP isn't a game balance thing so there's really no reason why the face camped shouldn't be getting points for their efforts, even if all their efforts boil down to is sitting there not killing themselves...

SWF is a good thing. The power advantage it gives over Solo and Killers is not.
This
Even the most jaded of jaded killers recognize that it will never go away but BHVR/SWF Mains sticking their head in the sand and going NUH UH THERE'S NO ADVANTAGE TO ALWAYS KNOWING WHERE THE KILLER IS is absolutely bonkers.
Now what to do about that is the hard part to figure out. Everyone seems to be on board with the "boost solos to SWF levels so we can boost killers accordingly" plan but BHVR seems to either disagree with that or won't do it for some reason so... *shrug*
-
I had Bond so it didn't happen to me but I watched another survivor do that exact same thing. So I'm gonna go ahead and guess it's a bug...
-
You're certainly allowed to your opinion but if anything is going to kill the game, it's the Killers leaving. There are a lot of times where the survivor queue is multiple minutes (sometimes even double digits) and there's really no time you can't get a killer spot the second you click FIND GAME.
-
I can't speak for other killers but the only killers I have NOED on are killers who are new to me (since I don't have other perks unlocked) or killers I don't like (so I don't bother spending BP to get new perks but I got a daily...). So since they're either newer killers for me or they're killers I don't like to play as, your first point is totally me.
-
Damn, I wish it were 30% :D
I'd even accept if the survivor at least got injured by it. It happens far too often that I grab someone and halfway through the game goes LOL JK and then the survivor speeds off like The Road Runner while I'm sitting there wondering where they went...

omg that's insane!! And I don't even run bloodwarden that much but one thing for sure is rarely it can turn a 0k into a 4k in the blink of an eye. OH I wish I could see a video of your match.
Bloodwarden really doesn't come in handy very often but when it does...
š
-
Absolutely
I felt kind of bad about it (especially in the cases where it turns out they didn't actually have DS, they were just messing around or trying to bluff me or something) but I've had at the EGC where someone bolts into a locker I was chasing and when they do that, I kind of have to assume they've got DS. I've sat there for sixty seconds before grabbing them (or slugging them on the ground if they jumped out) because if they have DS, they're going to escape if I pick them up early.
It sucks because it feels like such a waste of both of our times but whatcha gonna do
Although I do have a pretty funny story like this. I took someone down right in front of the exit gates on a upright pallet as Plague (I had Blood Warden, which will come into play later). However, the other three survivors were there and ready to slam that pallet down on me. So I basically just camp the downed person, throwing up on everyone and letting them all get injured by it. They just weren't very brave (maybe they needed the achievement or wanted to get cute and slam the pallet in my face or something) but they just basically kept looping the downed person instead of picking them up.
Half the EGC goes down before one of them finally gets the guts to pick up the survivor and I'm sure you know what's next. I down one of them as they both bolted to the door, pick them up now that they're not at the pallet, and hook them. Survivors swarm the hook to get them free right away but there's less than one minute is left in EGC...
Man, I got SOOOOOOOO many salty messages from those guys for playing so cheaply. I never bothered to respond because I'm not going to waste my time explaining to them why picking up the survivor inside a pallet next to the exit gate was going to end poorly for me (there's a zero percent chance they didn't know what they were doing, it's just it finally bit them) so I found it funny and an accidental super murder using "toxic" tactics.

As a person who often runs bloodwarden i support your demand
Second!
OP: Both opening and 99ing has risks and rewards as a survivor. The reason why people 99 gates is because the risks generally are outweighed by the reward (plenty of ppl before me talked about it so no reason to rehash it again).
As a killer who uses BW, I would LOVE for survivors to stop 99ing gates :D
-
The problem with Trickster is he's pretty awful at everything
He's slow so using him as a M1 killer doesn't work. His knives take forever to use, they're a pain in the ass to use, and the survivor can have them disappear if they use certain loops that doesn't allow him to hit them with a knife because for some reason the lacerations disappear without any survivor intervention (raise your hand if you've played as Trickster and had SWF survivors literally swap each other out mid-chase so that the lacerated person can just skip away and now you're stuck starting over again with another person).
Like that clip above. 52 seconds is an ETERNITY for the killer (and the survivor didn't even play the ending all that well as instead of turning the corner, she went left and got hit by two more knives she really shouldn't have been hit by that downed her). She played an OK to good job at running from Trickster and it took him 52 seconds to drop her. Now imagine if she played great to perfect on the chase...
Trickster is just not good at anything. There's nothing he can do that any other killer can't do better.

WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE NORMAL!?!?!
[Tippy high pitch screaming noises]

For me, hooks. I'd rather have a game where everyone escaped but I hooked everyone twice than a game where I slaughter everyone but got only 4 hooks because they either quit or I sat there and camped until they died.
The only time this is not in effect is when I get to activate Blood Warden with under a minute left in EGC. Then I will make sure NOT to hook people as I want to watch them squirm as they realize they made an oopsy...
-
This is actually something I agree with. Whether it's a "snowflake" attitude or not, there's not much in this game more infuriating than having a group of jerk SWF team doing everything to make the game absolutely miserable for you during the game and then have the game itself ######### at you for not doing good enough to make The Entity happy...
Bite me Entity, you judgmental prick. Maybe give killers tools to deal with bully squads instead of piling on...
-
Feels like a very strange oversight, especially since getting Survival points to 8,000 is damn near impossible.
-
Not a ton of points but 60K is 60K for about five seconds worth of work so I'll take it
Thanks for the heads-up
-
I know it's been a few months since the OP had posted but I have the Series X and I've had nothing but smooth sailing with it when it comes to DBD.
That's probably not terribly helpful but I imagine it's something then on your end rather than the games end as I imagine there would be a lot more complaining from Series X owners if the game just plain didn't work at all on it.

I want you to come up with a system that bans people for tunneling that bans toxic tunnelers but doesn't ban people who are not toxic tunnelers.
This
I watched a Twitch Streamer who was against me (after the match of course because I'm not going to be that guy who stream snipes). He was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO salty about how I "tunneled" him but I went after whoever I found. He kept going back to the same generator to work on so if I didn't know where anyone was, guess what the first place I went to was?
Did I "tunnel" him because he was the one I kept finding the fastest (he was always fully healed before I found him each time, he was just unlucky that I was Oni and was in Demon Mode every time I found him)? Did I need to let him do a certain amount of that gen before I no longer was tunneling him? How do you tell the difference between what I did to that survivor and if I were going T-1000 on the situation and specifically hunting for him to get him out ASAP?
-

Late 2025 and i“m being optimistic here.
You expect them to fix it THAT fast!?!?!
OP: As much as I enjoy this game, BHVR is agonizing pathetically slow when it comes to...anything it seems (unless they can sell you something, then they'll pump it out ASAP).
I am not a video game surgeon so maybe there's a good reason but Valve Time looks at BHVR and wonders to itself "######### is taking so long?"...
-
I don't
But against a good, well coordinated team, the gens are going to pop that fast regardless of how I play my chases so *shrugs*
-
Eh, I'll just play like normal
If they're being a jerk SWF group, I'll be a jerk back. Otherwise I'm just going to play normally and let the chips fall where they may.
-
-
Pretty much. I took a break for a while because of one bad night with three bully squads in a row and I imagine when I finally hang up my blade for good, it'll be for that same exact reason.
There are a number of survivors who just need to be given a mirror every time they whine about how long their queue times are and are trying to figure out why...

The developers do nothing when you can report a player not playing, so I'll keep the survivors name on here. Maybe they should act on some of the features they created in game.
You can go ahead and do that if you want, I can only give you the information. All naming and shaming is going to do is get your thread locked and deleted but if that's the hill you wish to die on, that's your call.
-
It also sucks for me as a killer
When there are two people at the end, one I know is working on gens because I can see them doing it and the other one playing Hide & Go Seek, by default I want to find the one hiding because I've been that gen working survivor far too many times (I'd rather just die getting the points I can from doing the gens instead of hiding for 10 minutes hoping the other guy gets caught first). But I also don't want to spend 10 minutes looking for the damn survivor who is just hiding because I would like to have this game end at some point in my lifetime...
Also Naming & Shaming is against the rules of the forum FYI. So you'll want to edit out the streamers name.

I do. Especially at the beginning of the match. A lot of survivors will run right away and not worry about the crows but if you watch for them in the distance, you can see them fly up, even if you're too far away to hear them.
I think a lot of survivors forget that the crows are giant loud flashy beacons when they get disturbed.

Hi there, I see you are brand new to The Internet Dot Com
Would you like a guide to help show you around or would you rather just explore a bit on your own?
-
So many Adepts lost because of that G D Hatch...
I actually had gotten all of them (except the damn Nurse) a few months ago when they first tried to put in MMR. You all remember that, right? Where Red Ranks like myself kept getting put into games with 4 Yellow and Greens. Good times!
I'm not sure I'll ever get Nurse because she's just really damn hard to play as and having to try to Adept at Red Ranks for a killer like her that you're not used to using feels damn near impossible but alas...
-
It would be great to have him on as either but unfortunately it takes a High IQ to really appreciate Rick & Morty and I'm not sure there's enough people with High Enough IQs here to truly appreciate it.
Though to be fair, there's a very limited amount of people with IQs high enough to understand R&M as it is, that's not a DBD fanbase exclusive thing.

I think it had to do with the fact that before dbd I never really played a lot of multiplayer games. I usually prefer single players games.
When I did I don't think I have had people teabag at me and if I did I probably didn't think much of.
I was very oblivious to things as a child.
Which is fair at least. I'm not saying I don't believe you just to be clear but if we were in an aftermatch and you said that's why you t-bagged, I'd almost certainly never believe you :D
But yeah, if this was one of your first multiplayer games, I can at least understand that. There is no (direct) communication with people so people interpret things a different way. Like if I point during a match, I'm generally saying "Killer is that way". Others see me point and think "Well CLEARLY he wants me to go that way!".
Or there are also "good" ways to T-Bag as well. Like when a survivor heals me, I do a double bop as my thank you. In context, I'm (pretty) sure that they know I'm not telling them to go F themselves and I'm thanking them with the double dip but if a survivor hasn't played a lot of multiplayer games and sees me "thanking" them with a t-bag, they might believe that T-bagging the killer at the exit is a sign of respect rather than rudeness.
-
Yeah, I mean this in the nicest possible way even though it'll sound really mean...
Unless this was your very first multiplayer game ever or something, I would be VERY hard pressed to believe someone who said they thought it wasn't rude as hell to do.
It's certainly not impossible (especially if you're younger and/or not very experienced in video games) but in about any game with the ability to do so, T-Bagging is always seen as a middle finger to your opponent.
-
I move around and go after others but I absolutely understand if a killer chooses not to.
Some of the times that'll let me get multiple kills as the survivors play it badly trying to save the hooked person and sometimes that'll mean all four escape. I'm not all that worried about it.
Unless someone was an absolute clown to me all game and therefore I'm feeling petty AF and demand retribution, I'm not going to bother sitting there and camping even at the end.
-
I've played a lot of online games in my day.
I've never had so many people constantly send me messages or ping me with repeated party invites than this game.
Granted most games online I play are team ones (so less likely someone singles me out to harass) but I've never received so many damn messages or whatnot from any other online game...
-
She must be set to "TOXIC". You have to Boop The Snoot to change her settings to "NICE".

The guy is standing almost on top of GF trying to reveal him. He needs to be further away. The moment GF moves off the center of the screen you lose all progress. The first clip sounds like a salty survivor. If he actually played GF like he claimed he would know how to reveal him.
If I'm close enough to Ghostface that I can give him a prostate exam, I feel like that should be a reveal...
What's your favorite sc GAH!!! GET YOUR FINGER OUT OF THERE!!!!
-
It's stupidly inconsistent and incredibly aggravating to play him (or as him). As him, it seems like a survivor can be on the other side of a house and somehow manage to reveal me. When I'm a survivor, I can stand still and stare him dead in the eyes and the game won't do anything with it.
But it's been like this...it feels like since he came out so I've determined we just kind of have to live with Ghostface rolling a dice to determine if you've revealed him or not.
-
Yeah, I'm actually pretty shocked I've yet to run into a group abusing it.
Maybe it's because it takes an actual coordinated group for the bug to REALLY be effective (where other glitches I saw people taking advantage of like hiding in the bus when the killer couldn't enter it was seen all the time because any one individual survivor could easily abuse it) but as of yet at least, no group has done four Breakdowns against me.
-
I'm not
I suck :,(
-
I feel it's super unsporting and boring BUT tactically it's the best thing a killer can do for themselves.
One less survivor (especially if there are two or more gens left) is a hell of a hole for survivors to dig themselves out of. It's certainly not IMPOSSIBLE to win down a survivor but it's incredibly difficult.
-
I had a survivor who immediately started pallet hoping to get my attention, stand by a hook, and point to it (clearly wanting to suicide by hook).
I slugged them :D
Sure, I lost a BBQ stack as they then DC'ed but I lol'ed so totally worth it
-
To be fair, it's not like they know who they're going up against when they are selecting their items/offerings. The key/hatch offering combo is pretty common. They might have used it for funsy during EGC or maybe they had a challenge or something but I'm not sure what makes the survivor a "coward" for using the items and offering...
The only time I'm irked about that kind of thing is the sudden item swap at the very end of the timer, which brings out the SweatLord Killer Tippy out but other than that, why would they bring items and offerings and then not use them?
-
It just baffles me that something like this can just be in the game for so long.
This isn't some cute little bug that is mildly annoying. This can literally make playing a killer for any group of SWF that want to take advantage of it.
Lucky for me I have yet to come across a SWF that ran a Breakdown build but the longer this game breaking bug sticks around, the more people are going to notice it and start to take advantage of it.
There is not a nice way to say it; this is downright pathetic that there is no communication, let alone a fix yet. If it's a huge coding issue they can't figure out, pull the damn perk until you get it figured out.

OH nor, was Dweet ok? Tell me you lured the killer to show that XD
I actually think it was just a glitch on my screen cause everyone else could interact with the locker like normal. I could see the "enter locker" text but I couldn't actually interact with the locker as a survivor but I know the killer had checked that locker at least once in that match.
As for the Dweet, unfortunately as you can see from the profile pics, he didn't make it :(

Nothing more fun than tipping over Porta Lockers when Dwight's are using them
