Since when did this
Become hotter than this
SMH
Also since they did that big QoL change back in whenever they did that last yearish, she has become considerably more fun to play as. I had always liked playing as her anyway but she's actually a force to be reckoned with now and not just a free win for the survivors. I still get the odd "I hit you with the vomit LOL JK I guess not!!!!" but it's not nearly as bad or prevalent as it used to be.

Maybe he was a wholesome Bubba and wanted to give you free object points :) Or he wanted to give you an opportunity to get the Left 4 Dead achievment. Awwww, what a nice guy.
It's certainly not impossible he was being altruistic but he had a funny way of showing it when he tried to hit me with his chainsaw.
Although hitting things with his chainsaw is how Bubba shows all of his emotions so...

I have had a killer do this to me exactly once (Note: I started playing in Feb 2020 so the time of The Hatch Standoff I hear so much about was something I never experienced). It was a Bubba and I had two gens left to do but alas, he found the Hatch first. Then...he decided to just sit on it.
I did one gen and still he camped. So I found the gen in the middle of the map out of range of the hatch but had the strongest loop spot (the one with the tree in the middle, a pallet on one end of the long I and a window on the other end). I finished the gen, which finally got him to come after me but for reasons I still don't really get, he didn't close the hatch still. Once he committed to come after me, I lithe'd through the window, bolted right to the hatch and yeeted myself out.
No idea what that killer was thinking but who am I to judge their strategy?

Probably be good to have couple traps set up - one by her food and another by the dishwasher.
With it running to the dishwasher odds are there's a hole/gap behind/under the dishwasher (usually around pipe/hose) since that seems to be it's go to for escape. You can stick some steel wool in the hole/gap and that'll stop the mouse from being able to use that as escape route.
I do have multiple traps, I just had them both upstairs (one by the dishwasher and one against the wall where the vacuum is). I moved one to the basement and kept the one by the dishwasher there.
I do like the idea of blocking the dishwasher though. Once he gets back there, he can go wherever he wants since all that piping would lead into the walls/downstairs. Just one less way for him to run around wherever he wants (assuming he's even still in the house).
-
Feels like the quickest way to make BT useless is to make it Basekit. If every killer knows for a fact that the survivors have BT on, they're still gonna tunnel you, they'll just wait X seconds before doing it. You won't even get one chance to have BT come into play and get away from a tunneling killer as by default they're just always going to wait it out.

If your cat has food in its bowl there's a good chance the mouse is going for that. I worked at a petshop that had a mouse problem - they only went after the cat and dog food, didn't touch the food you'd see for mice. 😂
Yeah, that's my primary worry. I do setup meals for Holly (I don't free feed her) but for whatever reason, she is a really slow eater. So while I limit the amount of food in her bowl, the mouse definitely would have time to snag some if it was feeling gutsy enough to go into the cat's domain...
I should move the trap downstairs where he food is. Maybe I'd have better luck down there instead of by the dishwasher where I saw the little bastard run to.

Hopefully it left but I'd still be on the lookout. We have mice in our house and they are such a pain to try and catch. We need to get a cat because the mice apparently know to avoid any traps our dog won't catch them. 😂
Oh yeah, I'll keep the traps out and see if I ever catch him. If he left, cool beans but he'll have to go for the food in the trap eventually or he gonna starve.

She's adorable, I hope she catches the mouse.
I have no idea what the hell happened to the mouse.
This was about two weeks ago now. None of my food has been gotten into, I see no signs of the mouse in the house (with a blouse), and none of the traps I set have caught it nor has Holly caught it.
I've been told by some that now that the mouse knows a cat is here, it'll just leave the way it got in knowing there is a predator in the house while another person who also has cats said that didn't matter at all to their mice problem (although he has a lot of food and junk left out so maybe the mouse takes the easy food and decides it's worth the risk, I also have no idea how active his cats would be going after the mouse where Holly I know has cornered the little bastard twice, once when I first came upon it when she was batting away at the vacuum cleaner and this picture when it bolted from the vacuum to under the dishwasher).
-
Your reward
Holly is on the hunt and posted up ready for that stupid mouse to come out...

One thing to keep in mind is that people on the hook can also reveal you. So make sure that before you go into stealth once you have hooked someone to break their LOS as well or else you're just going to throw away a stealth shot for no reason.

Exactly why you said, it's the harder and more frustrating role. And while some, like myself, enjoy that, others absolutely do not. And so, fueled by this frustration, they come to the forums to rant about it. While that doesn't happen as much when playing survivor, because it is designed as the less frustrating role, where ultimately you have 3 others to blame instead of just blaming yourself.
Nailed it in one
While not EVERY thread is a complaint thread, complaint threads are far more prevalent and people interact with them way more than positive threads (not just here, that's just kind of the nature of the beast when it comes to...well...everything).
Killers have a lot more to complain about with the nature of their role and therefore are a lot more likely to be the ones to be here to express that unhappiness.
-
We have no real way to know because we don't know how SBMM exactly works. But there's a LOT of anecdotal evidence on this forum alone of killers becoming frustrating and quitting.
Are these killers ACTUALLY quitting? I suppose we can't say for 100%. And a longer queue for survivors, while being a decent indicator, isn't necessarily killers leaving (one of those "Correlation is not Causation" kind of things).
But without being able to access the data that presumably BHVR has access to, all we can do is take the evidence we do have (longer survivor queue times combined with killers stating that they're done playing killer and/or quitting the game entirely) and make some educated guesses.
-
You tried your best, I'm still proud of you.

I always thought that would be a nice change, pause the EGC timer when it's active, but make it activatable.
But I don't want the EGC to pause 😥
I want to show that stupid 4 Man SWF Bully Squad that they should have left when they could have instead of wasting my time sitting at the Exit Gates to T-Bag me and jumping through the windows constantly so I get that super loud annoying noise notification every half a damn second 😈
It is quite literally the reason I still run BW even though it's tactically a bad decision. It doesn't happen often but when you catch one of those cocky bastards who got just a LITTLE too cocky...

Are you in Oceania by any chance? With around 1,500 hours I've only seen about 4 blatant hackers so far, no idea how many subtle ones though.
Midwest America
Maybe we're just all too passive aggressive polite in this area to hack :D
-
I don't know if it's my area or my rank or what but I just don't ever seem to get any hackers when I play (or at least no blatant hackers). I can count on one hand the number of times I've gotten game breaking hackers against me (or on my team if I were a survivor).
But I read way too many stories and see way too many people talking about it to pretend like I'm the rule, not the exception when it comes to hackers. BHVRs archaic as hell anti-cheating software and reporting system will keep the game like this until they actually take some steps to fix it.
-
If Bopping the Snoot deactivates The Pigs aggression, there's gotta be SOMEWHERE you can boop the zed. We just have to find it.
-
Hillbilly has an add-on (same with Bubba) where the killer gets extra BP for chainsaw hits but doesn't take them down in one shot.
Otherwise if that wasn't it, if they used DH at the right time, the game and the stupid hit validation would tell you as a killer that you got a hit but the game didn't actually register it as a hit so the survivor gets to keep runnin around.
-
You guys feel bad when you camp or tunnel?

Approach the generator for a Ruin tap check (so I assume that will be Option A; also your pro-tip for you noobs, always tap the gen once and see if Ruin is in play)

Ohh yeah I forgot oni. I'm not at my pc atm so I'm not hundret percent sure wich original killers I have but I know I don't have hag but since I got ruin lately I think I pass on her
Oni is my favorite killer period. I don't really main a killer as it's rare I'll play even two games in a row with the same killer but if I had to call myself a main, it would be an Oni main. He feels like one of the better balanced killers in the game and personally I gravitate towards killers who can one shot survivors.
His only real weakness is that if you can't get a hit or two early in the game, he's super neutered (so he can be very susceptible to the Hold W pre-drop meta). But even then, once they start running out of pallets and you can get that one shot in, his snowball potential can help you patch up the slow start anyway.
-
Blight is a very strong killer if you can figure out BHVRs janky ass bouncy system. I have not been able to figure out BHVRs janky ass bouncy system so I constantly run into things that I feel like I SHOULD be bouncing off of but Blight decides he just wants to grind along it like this is Tony Hawk Pro Skater by Daylight instead. I don't know if that's a me problem or a BHVR problem (I have heard that it is a much more pressing issue for console but I cannot confirm that as I play on just console). The Blights I face off against seem to have figured it out so it might just be that Eim Dum.
Doc is my favored of those but I just think he's all around a solid killer. He's still a basic M1 killer though and all the problems with being a basic M1 killer are present with him but his Madness ability helps make up for it when you are trying to track people or to force survivors to kill time when they've been zapped enough and need to snap out of it.
Clown I just think is fun to play as but like Doc, he's a basic M1 killer so he's going to have all those problems. I personally just think he's fun to play as but YMMV. His purple silly spray does help in mind games though as I can get some good hits in situations I probably should not have been able to at pallets because I stutter step towards it and then go around to smack them instead as it's hard for the survivor to see exactly what you're doing when they're intoxicated.
Artist is fun but I really haven't played a lot of them to tell you if they're really good or not. Their anti-loop is nice if you can figure out how to really utilize it and while she has the M1 basic killer problem, throwing birds at far away gens to see if someone is working on it helps mitigate those issues.
If you don't have him already, Oni is still my favorite of the original killers (so you can get him with Shards). ONI SMUSH SQUISHY SURVIVORS!!!!
-
There are plenty of survivors who seem to go by the toddler logic of "if they can't see me, I'm invisible".
Even a quiet enter into a locker makes noises and that's a pretty damn distinctive noise survivors. If you're bleeding, you leave a pool of blood at the base of the locker for a good five seconds before it finally clears up (your second example in the video). If I see a bunch of scratch marks in the area and you somehow mysteriously vanished with a locker nearby (your first example in the video), it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out where you might have gone to. If I know you were in the area and I've combed the area a few times trying to find you, I might just try a locker just to see what happens.
It's also funny how many of them are just survivors who just don't know any better (though granted, this is more on the game not teaching anything but the very basic mechanics than it is on the players). Like my buddy didn't realize that quick jumping into a locker caused the killer to get a noise notification (they just thought it was loud ambient noise if the killer was in the area). Based on me playing Legion, there also seems to be a number of survivors who don't realize that we can see you when we're in feral frenzy when you're hiding in the locker...
-
I am one of the five people who run BW
It comes in play MAYBE two out of ten games and it actually allows me to secure more kills maybe one in ten games. Most survivors I go against 99 the gate and are smart enough to realize when I'm the one who opens the gate, I probably have BW and they stay away and hide for the minute rather than try to leave.
It's a super fun perk for me to run though, especially because when you nail the SWF jerk squad with it, it is literally the best feeling you can have in the game but I fully acknowledge that it is almost certainly detrimental to my killer games running three perks the entire game on the off chance that BW might come into play. I'm honestly surprised he'd give it more than 1 star but maybe he factored in how GD fun it is to nail SWF squads with it rather than rating it on strategy alone.

Ha! Apologies for bumping my own thread but there didn't seem to be much of a reason to make a new one for what's (basically) the same thing
Guess who has two thumbs and now got the "Fight Back" (stun the killer 4 times with a pallet) challenge done!!!
THIS GUY!!!!!!
Tomes I - IV and Tome VI are all completed. A few straggler survivor challenges in V, VII, and VIII (mostly involving having to stun the killer X times in one match) but the one that I figured would be damn near impossible since you HAVE to do it with pallets is done.
I don't know if that killer was just new or what but the vommy mommy just kept chasing me so I'd smack her with a pallet, run her to the next pallet and smack her again. I got three in a row before she finally gave up on chasing me, which mildly panicked me that I would somehow manage to lose this out. Luckily at the EGC, I got her to chase me again and smacked her two more times with pallets before she finally NOED'ed me. Totally worth dying for.

I don’t think it’s exactly true, but I do at the same time. My last thread about Spirit was supposed to be encouraging people to play her and it blew up. It mainly blew up because someone was trying to claim I was annoying for my Spirit threads and a few people were defending me against them.
I think what I’m trying to say is, even positive threads can get publicity, but people like drama so much that they’ll find something to make it a negative discussion, which will in turn give it a better chance to get publicity. It’s very sad that the forums are like that.
Oh it's not impossible for a positive thread to gain traction and I would encourage people to do more positive threads.
But if it bleeds it leads isn't just for the news. People are going to gravitate towards being able to complain because complaining is more fun and feels better (in the short term at least) than than positivity. It's much easier to tear something down than it is to build something up.
-
The problem with doing a positive thread is that unfortunately, no one wants to talk in them :D
It's super easy to complain. It's way harder to do a positive thread. The few positive threads that do show up almost always wither and die before they can get to a second page while "Here's my totally original idea to nerf camping, it's the same exact damn idea the last 6,553,1674,335 threads about it" will do numbers.
Like you said though, it would help if DBD gave us something positive to talk about cause right now...it's rough D:
-
BHVR's system is so unGodly archaic that it takes them literally weeks to do anything about the most blatant hacking. Even once they do find and ban someone, the cheats that can be purchased are so stupidly cheap that they come back right away like some kind of demented hacking Hydra.

[No Lies Detected]
Pinhead is overall a pretty bad killer who is only really good at stomping baby solo players (in which case, any killer could do it). The only reason I play as Pinhead is because I like the character a bunch but his power leaves a LOT to be desired. His chains are useless at best (and an actual detriment to you at worse since they're so hard to control and you get very little slowdown when you do manage to hit; there are very very very very few situations where you're better using your chains than just walking to the survivor).
Even his chainhunt can be pretty useless unless it's against four solos who have no desire to have any of them go after the box.
The only thing he really has going for him is the snowball ability if you can get the chainhunt to go off while you have a survivor or two hooked. But even then, someone like Oni or even Bubba have a much better snowball ability that isn't reliant on the survivors actions.

Oh! That's actually pretty clever. But O share your sentiment :) Its a bit scummy, but you just got to share your motherly luv.
The hard part is the timing and having your red blarf instead of the green blarf AND get a hook bomber or proxy camp and try to get there in time so you can hit them both in one shot. It took me a few games to do it since it's really easy to mistime (go too early and it counts as hitting a person on the hook, which doesn't count as hitting someone but too late and they scatter before you manage to hit them both).

Congratulations. One fewer annoying challenge to worry about.
For the pallet stun in one trial, use a healing build and literally camp inside the pallet trading health states for stuns. Your teammates will hate you, but you didn't create the challenge. Oh, and Pray you get a killer that can be pallet stunned (so, not half the roster essentially).
If it's just generic stuns, then blast mine, head on and DS are your best friends.
I imagine those ones will take me just as long as I don't ever like to throw matches to do the challenges. Like the basement one, I'll wait until I naturally get it. But with how much rarer it is, I don't really ever truly expect to get the 4 pallet stun one. Sooooooooo much has to go exactly right for you that if you're not purposely throwing the game to get it, it might be impossible to get...
At least with basement, I have some agency in getting it done naturally but I need pallets to not be used by others, I need a killer who can be stunned, and I need a killer player who actually will get stunned and doesn't stutter step them to avoid getting hit...

Congrats, took me a while to get it with trapper but it felt really good when ut happened.
What build have you used?
I tried many different ones but ultimately Agitation, Iron grasp, Deerstalker and Noed worked the best. Map was Sanctum of wraith
For that particular game, it was my slowdown build with Ruin, Surveillance, BBQ, and...uh...the one that slows down if you're injured. T something.
When I tried to do the challenge specifically, I used a build similar to yours but through either bad luck or bad play or whatever, I wasn't getting it and I was getting bored with the basement builds and throwing my game just for a challenge. I didn't expect it to take me THIS long just naturally trying to get it but hey, I got it.

This is the start of something beautiful and before you know it, you will go for those basement wipes even without a challenge encouraging you to do so because that is what justice means to the American Dream.

Well done. I’m sure you are purely elated after such a long time. It’s not always easy but you persevered. Respect.
I find it funny you did it with ghost face though.
It's my challenge I throw on when I have them all done so it's basically been active all this time (except when new archives come out and for those few days/weeks I do those instead). At first I tried putting builds together specifically to get it (Basically Basement Bubba builds except i didn't camp down there since I didn't want the survivors to give up and hide) but...well...survivors kept giving up and hiding :D
I figured that maybe eventually, I'd accidentally stumble into it, which is exactly what finally happened tonight. They all wanted to loop around the building with the killer shack in it and were "throw ourselves at the killer and the hook to save the person" so it worked out nicely for me.
