I had to turn my messages off on Playstation because I’ve had a few killers make me bleed out or face camp me then SPAM me with pictures of memes, crying babies and I even once received child p*. Very sad.
You can send images on Playstation?
I have a PlayStation but it's always been my B console (so multiplayer games on my Xbox since I have no desire to pay for two online services) so I had no idea you could do that.

Well next time try to camp those guys , just down himbas soon as he stands up, try to hurt others who tries to help him and they are going to panic. Be creative
Unless they're running Soul Bond so they get up and get an eight second head start every time they pick themselves up with the Boon
I suppose TECHNICALLY you can slowly kill them this way. Assuming none of them do gens ever so that once a hour of paper cutting the one survivor down they then all don't bodyblock their way right to the Exit.
I've stopped trying to be "creative" with this ish and just let them waste their own time while I chill elsewhere. They can bully themselves I guess while I watch TV.
It sucks because I'm sure we'd all rather actually play the damn game but I'd strongly encourage every killer to stop playing the bully Squads rigged game and let them waste their own time.

I know ranks mean absolutely nothing but why do I lose pips in rank? no one giving me an answer.
I was under the impression that those pips affect your MMR ranking (the hidden one) but I admit I'm not an expert in this as I'm just going off my understanding. I never cared enough to look all that deep

I like the MMR system. It is much better at matching than it's predecessor. As for the displayed ranks if the listed ranking is for how much you have played why does it go down sometimes after a match?
It's how much you've played in a sense that you can only rank up those rankings by playing the game during that month. Being ash rank doesn't necessarily mean you have yet to play this month but to get to red rank, you have to have been relatively active in the month as everyone starts at Ash.
-
At this point, their silence seems to be their answer and they feel like this situation is perfectly fine.
You are the survivors plaything and you do not get to leave penalty free until they have grown bored and tired of you. -BHVR probably
-
Those ranks mean absolutely nothing (to the point that I don't get why BHVR even has them on your opponents screen).
All those represent is how much you've played since the last ranking reset. So a baby survivor who has played a bunch of matches this month might be Red while a God survivor who has played longer than you've been alive somehow but just hasn't played this month would be Ash.
Your actual rank is hidden. No one knows what their or their opponents actual rank is.
-
My joke post aside, it is kind of counter intuitive how the envelopes work. I suppose if I had actually read it too I wouldn't have been confused but when I first played, I though if an envelope was picked up, EVERYONE got the points for it. It made me wonder why everyone was in such a panicky rush to pick up the envelopes (cause when people picked up my envelope, I saw I got points so I assumed).
That doesn't make them throwing a childish fit right or justified (even if they were right and you stole their envelope from them even though we all know they're wrong).
-
Reading is for nerds!
-
Nailed it in one. Camping is not against the rules. You might not like it but BHVR has said it's a valid tactic so it's very doubtful it'll ever become against the rules.

What I can't wrap my head around is that hackers literally have to pay money, usually on a monthly basis, in order to keep the cheats going. Why that's worth spending your money on I'll never understand.
But regardless of what was stated in the Q&A, I feel like BHVR could care less about cheaters. While I fully understand why they can't reveal too much information about how they go about fixing the cheating problem, the fact that so many players had to upvote a question about hackers just to get a direct answer from BHVR was sad, and it speaks volumes. The anti-cheat should boot someone from the match for doing something they clearly should not be able to. At the very least have the match end once the EGC ends. The fact that killers are still being held hostage once the match ends is absurd.
Because it's basically nothing
While I haven't gone to any of the sites myself to verify, there have been plenty of Youtube videos of people "exposing" the cheater pandemic and showing how people get these cheats. Like...a completely cheat loaded game cost under $5
If BHVR actually did something about the cheaters this might be a problem but let's be kind and say they ban someone once a month. For $5 a month, the cheater can mess around to their hearts content messing with people and just being a general nuisance. For a troll, $5 to get a month worth of fun is nothing.

Soulguard’s endurance effect is anytime the survivor is picked up. The hex aspect is only to let them pick themselves up.
Ooooooooh
So if they're picking themself up with Boon Exponential, they also get the effects from Soul Guard. So you can't even slug these ######### now as they've figured out how to troll beyond just Boil Over and hiding at the top of the library

You aren't my real Daddy if you're Bubba. Daddy is my Father Triangle, the Executioner, Pyramid Father himself! In his soul he knows I'm his misbehaving girl, and he'll take me, put me in his cage, punish me with thorns. He does it because he must, not from rage.
God I give him so much grief though, you know? I run from him, drop pallets, dodge his attacks, but why would I make it easy? I want him to catch me so bad, to stare at my frightened body crawling frantically away from him while he decides what to do.
That is not you. Daddy doesn't maliciously take his anger out, doesn't take his rage from other games out on me. Daddy only cares about me, and him. Nobody else crosses his mind.
You're just a man with a chainsaw!

Why focus on Boil Over and not poor hook spawns? Or poor map design? Or, arguably, poor boon design (since it's range is big and it goes through floors)? Or just poor foresight in general and not knowing that these kinds of things are possible when everything is played to make it happen?
There's a lot of poor things but they've all been exasperated by Boil Over. So for now, my hatred is towards Boil Over.

Lol I had a swf group try this on me as well. I was doing the pigs challenge for 2 dash attacks. I knew what they were trying to do. I got my 2 attacks and went into the basement. There I proceeded to chat with my viewers.
They spammed sounds they vaulted pallets lol. We just laughed. After the match sure enough they had all boil over, unbreakable, boons etc.. they came into my chat and said thanks for the boring game.
Haha like really? No one plays an RPD offering unless they are trying to troll or are a huge RE fan and want to see the map. I never care about a win or loss. So have fun trying to bully someone and failing lol.
In retrospect, I shouldn't have grabbed my envelope until EGC started. Then I could have just gone into the basement and let them be all annoying all they wanted upstairs while I watch Youtube or something. Then once EGC started, then go get my envelope so I wouldn't have to sit there and protect it.

Im sure those Survivors are really gonna feel the consequences to their actions now
Also, when this happens they make it easier for you. Deal with Boil Over the same way you dealt with old DS. Make them Wiggle out when youre standing on the edge of a drop, so when they do get off your shoulder theyll drop and by the time youre recovered from your stun, theyll probably still be recovering from the stagger from the fall
Yes this wastes time but if they arent doing gens youre not really wasting time
I ultimately just played DEFEND THE ENVELOPE!!!!
They want to waste my time, they can not get chased. I basically did the bare minimum to make sure no one touched the envelope and let them run around trying to vault spam me until they got bored and left. I was also Pinhead so I just kept chucking chains at people rather than hitting them.

Who said anything about bullying? Daddy is just expressing rage. He's using a killer he greatly enjoys that can one-hit people and have fun with. They brought four envelopes so I ultimately let the one guy I actually caught go as I got a ton of points out of collecting envelopes. I just wanted to chainsaw people cause it makes me feel better.

Ghostface is kind of broken so your mileage may vary. His reveal mechanic is super unreliable but that can be in your favor (survivors staring into the whites of your mask and not revealing you) or against you (survivors being inside a building on the bottom floor and revealing you across the map...ok, maybe not THAT bad but it's wonky as hell).
He's also potentially getting a redesign so what we currently have may or may not be what you get once that's done.
Bubba is super fun and don't let the haters get you down, he's damn good without needing to facecamp. It takes a bit of practice but once you get good at rounding curves with him, you'll be chopping through meddling kids with your chainsaw all day.
Plus for perks, GFs perks just aren't very good while LF has BBQ (a staple in any killers diet) and Franklin's for when you see a four man flashlight bully squad.

The problem with a doppleganger killer is the main problem in general with this game; against solos or even 2 person squads it's fine but once you get 3 or 4 person squads, gonna be real easy for everyone to go "Hey, you see that Dwight over there with the giant tentacle sticking out of his arse? That's the killer, not me so don't let him Thing you to death".

I have yet to play against it
I put it on one of my killers for a game just to check it out and it seemed....eh. Like...it's good but it's not great. While the gens are blocked for the survivors, they're also blocked for me as the killer. I suppose there are builds that would really make it awesome (like if you had Ruin and it survived) but just Dead Man's by itself seemed OK at best.

Slugging isn't new.
Mandatory slugging is. Or at least, it's made it's comeback from the times where a survivor could crawl into certain spots to be immune to pickups.
Survivors don't like being slugged. I know I don't enjoy slugging.
Why are we pushing killers towards more slugging? Surely we should be doing the...opposite?
That's why I don't like to do it. It's not out of some chivalrous love over the survivors enjoyment, it's just really boring for me :D
-
I have no idea why a killer would feel bad for bleeding someone out running Boil Over.
I don't like to do it because I find it boring but if my options are to bleed you out or let you go because I can't get you to a hook because of your perk, then so be it. I'm not going to feel bad for adjusting my strategy to deal with problems that have no other recourse.

Has the blocking thing been confirmed? That’s so dumb. If that’s the case it should just say “Block Communication” or “Block Friend Request.” Any other platform or Videogame, Block means just that- they’re Blocked for matching up with you.
I don't believe BHVR has ever straight up come out and said that but anecdotally people who use the block function have said they get paired up with people they block anyway.
I've never blocked anyone so I cannot personally confirm this though

I've had a survivor wiggle off due to Boil Over exactly one time since the buff dropped. Running it myself, I have noticed a very, very clear distinction between PC and console killers in terms of how much Boil Over affects them. Console killers can't make it through doorways in many instances, and PC killers including myself are barely affected by the increased wiggle. So I think that's where a lot of the disconnect is stemming from. Depending on the platform, it barely affects the game.
Honestly this reminds me way too much of Trickster when he came out
If you were playing him on the PC, he was a God that no one could do anything about because PC has the fine control needed to deal with his recoil. It was basically nothing on the PC. However if you were on console, Trickster might as well not be an option for you because you can't control his stupid knives as they spray all over the damn place and the controller doesn't have the fine tune needed to make those tiny baby adjustments.
Because I've found on console that Boil Over is a HUGE pain in the ass to deal with as if it's not a completely clean shot to the hook, I might as well just drop them there because I'm going to get stuck on every GD thing on my way to the hook. Where my PC buddy doesn't see what the big deal is about Boil Over (except when survivors are clearly and maliciously abusing it like RPD Library or whatnot).
BHVR just never seems to remember that console players don't get to use a mouse and keyboard...
-
Make them actually useful again
Once that revert happened where Victor took a year to reset when you missed someone, it was trouble. But you combine that with DH and that counting as a miss, you might as well have just took The Twins to the back of the house and put them out of their damn misery at that point. If you go up against anyone using DH, just keep Victor put away and be the most basic M1 killer you possibly could be because you're never downing anyone again with him in that match.
-
Soooooo...a few things
Point 1. Yes, cheaters should be banned but you can literally go to a cheater website right now and get a brand new account (game and everything with all the cheats installed) for $5 or less. Until BHVR puts in some kind of actual useful anti-cheating tools in the game, cheating is going to be rampant
For point 2, the entire nature of the game is that it's every man for themself. Dwight has it right in his "Bond" perk that says "We have to work as a team, I need you to survive so that I can survive!". Everything on the survivor side of the game is designed around this philosophy.
For point 3 (and also for point 2), you realize that blocking people in the game doesn't block you from being paired up with them, yes? All blocking in the game does is stop you from being able to receive in-game friend requests from them. As to killers camping, I would also like it if they could find a way to deal with it but unfortunately there are times when camping IS the only real option for a killer and I don't see how they could put in a fix that doesn't smack innocent killers (or be abusable by SWFs like the "Stop the timer if the killer is in the area" thing they tried back in the day that failed because SWFs would just "loop" their hooked teammate, letting everyone else hammer gens while letting the person on the hook never be sacrificed).
-
I don't play these so-called "sweaty" builds so I'm still allowed to complain that Boiled Over is OP and that the devs are insane for thinking that this was an OK thing to release, right?

That's killer for ya shrug

if they're in a safe spot I'll slug however if it's close to a hook I'll try and go for it.
Ideally I will still get the hook, I don't just pick them up, see the horsey, and drop them. I don't want to slug people as I have many more things I want to do in the game than babysit someone taking a nap on the ground but I will if my hand is forced by the perk.
-
Thankfully I think most survivors have figured out that Boil Over = Slugged so I'm not seeing the perk anymore but any time I have run into it, if I pick them up and don't immediately see where I can go and that I can get there, I will drop them and let them look at the floor until someone comes picks them up or they die.
-
Sure, we can adjust our play around it. Then we waste everyone's time having to sit there and babysit a slugged survivor because that is the only reliable way to play around it.
So I guess if you enjoy "lying on the ground" simulator, feel free to keep Boil Over unchanged

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307726/are-killers-getting-mad-over-boil-over
Ok, here is my story: when the new Boil Over released I got lots of instances, where the survivor managed to wriggle free. I don't mean the broken stuff like RCPD, but tube maps that are a bit lower on the hook density.
Wriggling off on your own should obly be possible if the killer greeds a certain far-off hook, either to proc their Scourge Hooks, a better BBQ overview or because they want to set you up inside their 3gen fortification etc.
But Boil Over, together with a good string of wriggle checks can be enough on its own, if its a medium far travel to the next hook, making it nearly a guarantee if another survivor bodyblocks or sabos this hook.
And invalidating a chase is strong! Really STRONG! It can be downright devastating. Against four competent survivors you are already fighting an uphill battle and must quickly and decisively work out an advantage for you, so wriggling off is no "lulz, there he goes" moment.
The first few hours were especially grim and I lost countless rathet random hooks to this, because everyone and their mother was running Boil Over.
And then something else happened: killers wised up to this, and once they spotted the red horse icon of doom, and there was no hook right at your tile set, they would just relinquish their hold on the survivors and slug them.
It's a tactic born out of sheer necessity; slugging for me is only marginally more fun then for the slugged survivor, but letting the survivor wriggle off with a good chance is even worse.
I guess the tactic spread, as only a few survivors run Boil Over now and went back to their trusty 6 or 7 meta perks. I had a few instances were the slugged survivor would frantically start wriggling on the floor, and 9/10 this was a sort of gentlemens agreement: "I won't struggle and wriggle off your shoulder and you just hook me instead of letting me bleed out". I was only betrayed twice, and this two stayed on the ground till they bleed out.
But you see? This again is a "victim of your own success" problem. If you are so strong at your game that the opposition has no chance of winning, then they won't oppose you on your chosen play field, but will try to chose a different means of engagement, invalidating your perk in the process. That's why you only give slight percentages, not massive bonuses, or else you will never get the opportunity the try out your fun toys.
This. Just...all of this
Maybe it's a controller thing or maybe I just need to somehow Git Gud against it but if you don't have a completely clear shot to a hook that is relatively close by, you're screwed. Losing someone from your grip USED to be something that took a combination of teammates helping their downed comrade plus a little bit of luck but I'm getting people wiggling out of my grip with no help from anyone (at least) once a game. Sometimes it's people who are abusing it and are well aware of what they're doing (running up to a second floor any time I see them) but many times, it's I can't get my killer to get through a GD doorway.
At this point, I've started downing people and then looking around them to make sure I know EXACTLY where the nearest hook is just in case they have Boil Over just so I have a damn chance to actually hook someone instead of them escaping.
How in the world the devs pushed this out thinking that is was perfectly fine is a mystery that will baffle me for the rest of my DBD days...
-
Oh of COURSE a [Insert your side] thinks this way!!! Why don't you try the hard role with all the BS that [Insert my side] has to deal with and actually takes some freaking skill to play and THEN maybe you can talk!!!

You know what killer is super fun to play as though? The Spirit...of the Samurai, the Oni! He's my favorite!
