Dum people be dum. Happens to the best of us. Not much you can do.
Edit: Oh hey, my 3000th post. Have a Holly to celebrate
-
No idea why it's there but I suppose it's just as effective as their report system so...
ZING!
-
I'm assuming this isn't the case since you're posting it buuuuut...
Everybody scored a lot of points EXCEPT for the one person. Which to me usually means that person either just hid the entire time or they were slugged and left alone for a long period of time. If they were tunneled/camped, I would expect everybody else to have scored much lower.
-
I figure I should play Sadako instead of Dredge because Dredge is not out yet and therefore I am unable to play as him
😇

I imagine it's for the reason that most self care people tell you when they say why they run self care (and was why I used to)
As a solo queue player, I can't rely on my teammates to heal me. Low level, mid level, high level; all levels have players who gen jockey and have no interest to help you.
So they want something that will let them heal themselves that doesn't require another player (it helps too that this comes with the base game as a Claudette perk so many who started with it at beginner levels just keep it in their lineup).
-
He's covered wars you know
-
My assumption is it's automatic to stop the killers who just down the last person and let them sit there for the four minutes to bleed out. Making the Mori a choice would undermine that goal completely.
While it sucks that you no longer get the choice (especially if you want to give Hatch), you'll just have to let the last person find the Hatch themselves now if you are going to give Hatch.
-
There's not enough bloodpoints in the world to get me to risk playing against a damn bully SWF squad
I have zero issues facing off against SWF squads but I have no desire to play against Bully SWF Squads. If playing Solo Queue only for less BP would guarantee I'd never have to do that again, sign me up
-
You mean you're treated to such a wonderful image!

What device you happen to play DBD on has zero bearing on how they actually play. I've had console players who were great teammates (I'm a console player, I'd GLADLY take three of me on my team). I've had PC players who were great teammates. I've had console players who are absolutely worthless. I've had PC players who are absolutely worthless.
Your main complaint in your post seems to be the SWF part so I have no idea why in the world you would try to throw console players under the bus here...
-
Except that the issue still with DH isn't dealt with; DH for distance.
A survivor using it just to dodge hits aren't the survivors that make it broken. No killers (or at least no killers in higher MMR) care about survivors that use it to dodge, it's the survivors that use it to get to that pallet or window they SHOULDN'T have been able to get to and now just extended the chase by 20+ more seconds as you have to restart a loop chase once again...
This does nothing to address that as any survivor using DH correctly doesn't need to worry about dodging your swing
-
Personally I think Bond is the superior perk but I suppose Empathy isn't the worst thing you could run
:D

Spies From The Shadows - A solid tracking perk, even if it is reliant on map RNG.
I've also been using Renewal/Second Wind as part of a healing build and have gotten good value from it.
I had used it once but got so annoyed when it kept going off. I couldn't figure out why it kept going off. No one was there in that area...
The damn guy on the hook was "startling" the crow, which was constantly setting off Spies 😅

Bloodwarden!
Sure it doesn't come in handy in like...9 out of 10 matches. And sure, about 9 out of 10 of the matches it DOES come in handy in, it usually nets you maybe one more kill.
BUT in those games where it nets you an entire 4K (especially if you get the 4K because the survivors F'ed Around and Bloodwarden got to demonstrate to them the Find Out stage), it might literally be the best feeling you can have as a killer in this game.
-
I've been playing for like...two and a half years at this point.
I have a handful of peeps at Prestige 2 and Zero Killers prestiged even to 2 :D
I just never really got into prestiging. I have so many damn add ons and items for everyone that I just never wanted to burn it all to prestige and start over again.
-
Holy crap BHVR, I can't believe you'd let The C Word be uncensored here on the forums
Do better

People play games for different reasons
Some people want purely the gameplay. As stated by Guy above, that doesn't make it OK that they did that and it would get them banned if they get caught but I completely understand why they'd do that if all they liked about DBD was the gameplay itself and not care about a "sense of achievement" or whatever for unlocking 100 different perks to get the one perk you actually do want.

Cant wait to try out the Evil Dead game am I right?🤣
I've greatly been enjoying Evil Dead The Game (bought the Deluxe Edition!) but they are two very different games. The only similarity really is they're both Asymmetrical Multiplayer games based on horror. The gameplay for both roles is completely different than the roles in DBD.
-
Because this game is being held together by Duct Tape and Tears of Survivors killed by NOED. It's amazing it even works to begin with 😅
-
Awww, poor survivors :(
Can The Entity teach them how to ride a bike? This seems like something they should all get to do at least once before I murder them

Simple solution I posted earlier:
- Killer gets the OPTION to mori when there's one last survivor
- Last survivor has the OPTION to give in to the entity after they have been lying on the ground for a total of 10 seconds once they are the final survivor. Doing so will cause the entity to kill the survivor immediately.
I mean, I suppose if you as a killer INSIST on making sure you get to carry the survivor to the hatch instead of just letting them go to it themselves. Seems like a super unnecessary thing to me though shrug
-
We have no idea what it actually means is a major reason I imagine
Right now anyone talking about how they're going to kill XYZ or buff ABC and make survivor even worse or make survivor super overpowered or make killer even worse or make killer super overpowered is throwing themselves into a blind panic
We have the vaguest of vague hints about what's going to happen (namely 40ish perks are going to be changed in some way and some fashion). Unless I missed something in the streaming thing, that's literally everything we have to go on about the Meta Shakeup coming.
-
I imagine the reason they're doing this is to stop killer trolls from taking the last person down and making them bleed out instead of finishing the match (so making it something the killer has to trigger would ruin that)
While that is a mild inconvenience, I realized it is just as easy for me to not down them and let them go to The Hatch themselves if I have a survivor who deserves The Hatch.
-
Yay! I have two ADORABLE Holly pics but no codes were being posted. So here's one of the two. There's another SUPER adorable pic but I need another code to release it. Ball is in your court BHVR...
EDIT: Poor Holly. Her most adorable pose yet (until the next one, that one is SUPER adorable) and no one is going to see it cause everyone just ignored this thread :(

Mixed feelings. Probably healthier for the game but the more and more bad-behavior survivors I get, the more I enjoy rewarding the last, good one by giving him hatch.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2955624#Comment_2955624
Not true, and not helpful.
Feels kind of like a wash. No more "good" survivors get the hatch from me but jerk killers just letting people bleed out are also nerfed (except even then, they could just bleed out two people now and waste everyone's time still).
I liked being able to reward nice survivors who were good at the game AND not jerks about it but whatcha gonna do?
-
I don't like it. Not enough to really care about it but I liked being able to choose to give Hatch to survivors who impressed me without being jerks.
All well *shrug*
-
As a killer who runs Nurse's Calling, I encourage SC to become even more meta! Everyone should run it.
-
Goody. It was always going to be way too big for a DBD map. I'm surprised nobody with any power had that thought too...
I get wanting to be true to the source but there are things that have to be changed to work for DBD (hence why we have no rocket launcher in the game).
-
But...every single one of those gets a ton of forum time too...
I suppose right this millisecond you can get a screenshot of people flooding the first page with DH anger but you're lying or this is the first time you've been on here ever if you can say with a straight face that all those things are not also constantly complained about.

Or their men. It's 2022, gawd.
But there WILL be lamentations.
Funny enough, I made that exact joke in my original post but decided that I wanted to not mess with the quote too much :D

To crush the survivors, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of their women

I have to be honest... Where the heck are you guys getting all these survivors who leave? My victims make me stay and watch them die.
I don't have it happen very often (Hell, it's been a long while since I've even SEEN a camping Bubba) but when it does happen, it super sucks :(
-
I like how the gate is also open, demonstrating why EGC was added...
-
I play solo so I completely get it. It sucks but I get it
BHVR has given them zero incentive to stay. They can either hang there for the two minutes twiddling their thumbs and not playing in order to potentially help three complete strangers they'll (probably) never see again get a few points (since you're not getting a ton of points in a camping game anyway) or they can just cut their loss and jump back into a better game.
I really wish BHVR would give you SOMETHING in terms of points when you're being camped like that. Give people a reason to stick around and maybe some of them actually will...
-
Not particularly. BHVR has a habit of writing checks with their mouth that they never end up cashing.
Until you see X change implemented in game, I assume it won't actually ever show up

ah thats definitely a pc oni?
console onis are extremely easy to win against its the pc onis that are scary
I didn't bother to screenshot it but yes, I can confirm that is a PC Oni as I am the player getting smushed and sitting there on the ground wondering why I ever bother playing anymore :D
-
I always respond to them with LOL or something of that effect
I do not like to tunnel or camp either but I'm not going to throw the entire game to avoid it if you're going to force my hand like that (especially you BT players who actively get in my way when I'm TRYING to go after the person who farmed you off the hook).
I'm going to do my best to play "sportingly" but if you're going to make me play "unsportingly", then so be it. But don't bother messaging me about it because your cries mean nothing to me.

That's the Oni Hug Tech
I've heard people complain about the "Hug Tech" and that it is a bug, not a feature
Is it that same Hug Tech thing? I have no idea what the Hug Tech actually is (presumably based on the name you hug the walls), I just know I keep hearing the term and people being mad at it 😅

How do they sell you the same DLC if they let you have cross progression?

That looks like a 90° flick, he was almost perpendicular to the log when rushing.

Sure would be nice if BHVR let console players do it but that shrug I guess

"We have to work as a team, I need you to survive so that I can survive!" — Dwight Fairfield
Once Dwight can survive, you're on your own
The game has always been about making sure you survive. Usually saving your teammates is the best way to make sure you survive (since more teammates means more people to be murdered by the killer while you scurry away) but there's nothing in the rules that force you to play altruistically.
Personally I do as I find the game a lot more fun to do the high risk saves at the EGC but that's just me. Some people would rather "win" and once the gates are open, they're gone and it sucks to be you if you're still on the hook at that point.

There was a patch a few days ago and they didn't fix these game breaking bugs?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2952811#Comment_2952811
I heard that PS5 fixes all Dead by Daylight bugs. I forgot to order a PS5 now I have to wait another 10 full moons for Sony to make new PS5s to the market.
Why do you think the PS5 is impossible to find? All the DBD players are scrambling to get one!
-
A bug? In DBD?!?!
You probably just ran out of battery in your controller and didn't realize it.
(for the less fun answer, I haven't seen that yet but I don't play Nemesis all that often; flipping through the Bugs Section, I don't see anyone having reported it yet)
-
Whether "fair" to the game or not, I generally feel that when I lose in DBD, it's not because of what I did and didn't do but it's that the deck is so stacked against me that I'm reliant on my opponent(s) making mistakes rather than because I did something.
It doesn't help too how many things are stacked to reverse the cool thing you did (the easiest and most prevalent example being when you caught that survivor out of position with a clever stutter step and reverse only for them to Press E to erase the work you just did). Your reward for a job well done was quite literally stolen from you there and there was absolutely nothing you could do about it and that feeling of powerlessness sucks.
-
@dugman said:
Nerfing something that’s overpowered doesn’t require changing anything else to be “fair”.
Nailed it in one
Anyone who argues that DH is fine where it's at has clearly never played against survivors who actually know how to use it because the survivors who use it to "dodge" getting hit or DH themselves into a wall because they're not paying any attention to what they're doing are not the problem. May God have mercy on their soul the first time they run into a 4 man bully squad all running DH...
Now granted I do think the devs have put themselves in a horrible spot here. Finding a way to nerf DH so it's not incredibly frustrating and stupidly overpowered isn't going to be easy and they've left it alone for so long that survivors are going to be pissed no matter how little the change is (at least with something like Boil Over, they kept it being stupidly OP for only a month before they cut it down). Take away the distance and I feel like DH becomes one of the worst Exhaustion perks to have but the distance is what makes it so stupidly overpowered.
-
"Gee I can't wait until I get back into DBD!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvFjDKhyz5YTo be a little less snarky, if toxicity is what made you quit in the first place, this game has not gotten any better and is (probably) far worse in that regards (I have only been playing for two years while you've said it was three years ago that you stopped playing).
The game has become such a mess that everyone is basically a jerk to everyone. Survivors are jerks to killers. Killers are jerks to survivors. Survivors are jerks to survivors.
Now granted, this isn't EVERY single game and if you're playing with friends, that would in theory help. But if toxicity is what drove you away, I'd stay away.
