Maybe something like when you're exhausted, Iron Will is not effective... so your character is literally out of breath and their breathing returns to 100% volume
-
Yeah basically if theres an SWF out there whose MMR is too high to find a killer for them it will instead find them the quickest game possible. So they're not waiting all night for one game. Most matchmaking systems do something similar to that.

Every Single one of them.
I figured as much 😂
-
Well Huntress is an instant health state... but playing around Trickster is all the same. Hugging corners and windows to waste knives and working in a buddy system to take hits for each other. Being caught anywhere in the open is the worst possible scenario, so hug those loops
-
How many did you slug? I see that deerstalker perk
-
I know it sounds crazy but the only way to increase mmr for survivors is by escaping. Why should every survivor risk getting tunneled or camped out of the game when they can just play hide and seek, then hopefully leave for free?
Then again I never really see anyone doing this in my games. If they are AFK at all. I do notice when some players will stop doing gens and hide because they know hatch spawn is coming. I'll usually do my best to hover around these types of players closer to the end of the game.
Some people could still be new to the game and not be comfortable playing it yet. Or someone could see it as a challenge... who really knows, except for that person
-
A new realm would be super nice right now
-
I can't think of one I want to remove... maybe dead dog saloon? but I wouldn't remove it... I'd like to see that map reworked and be a bit bigger.
-
Isn't the BP from the event gens extra? On top of what you're getting from the trial?
-
Welcome to demon pupper zone
-
If even one person escapes, then we did our job. But if they got hatch or something, then it wasn't really an escape imo. Hatch is just a freebie to prevent playing out the game.
-
It's not your fault regardless of what happened or who said what first. You tried to be fair and Feng did her best, but she was not expecting you to do what you did and so she lashed out at you for it. The game was down to 2 people and your choices were slim, so no matter who got hooked first it would have been the same situation for them: not very good.
-
It's already worth using anyway. More time spent healing each other? Why not. That means you can pressure gens more while people are trying to heal. Or combo it with Nurse's Calling
-
If he gets a rocket launcher then no splash damage because that would be extremely cheap
-
Yeah probably lowered the chance so that people wouldn't use it over med kits, i.e only as a last resort

But is the time you are using up worth it? Like I said in solo it is better to slam on gens because you have to assume everyone else is probably doing bones or something else that is not gens.
I don't think most people are doing bones though. Or we wouldn't be having this conversation lol

Your also assuming that only one person has it.
Ok but not every scenario is perfect, and not everyone will be able to dead hard for distance

Bruh you are literally progressing the game when doing gens of course your time is not wasted doing the only objective. Looking and doing totems when the killer doesn't even have NOED is just a waste of time. Your only compensation is some bloodpoints.
Sorry I should have said more... because you said dull totems only give 1k points, I meant that repairing a gen is only 1200 pts by itself. And you can finish cleansing a totem faster than you can repair a gen by yourself. So those 1k points are worth it.

I don't ever bm unless you've done something to really get me mad then I might smack you a few times on hook. Thats the thing if you just abandoned chase because they can dh for distance thats a time loss for you and they still have dh if you get the to use it and then abandon chase its still a time loss and in 40 they will have it again dh for distance is a lose lose no matter what the killer does.
In that case there is a good way to play around it. You're cutting your losses short by leaving them alone before you waste extra time. That gives you more time to pressure gens and you can always come back and have an idea of where they are. Are they getting healed? Doing gens? What have they done in the past?

The game would be pretty unplayable if camping were not okay, the level of aura reading they would need to add to base kit to justify that wouldn't even be worth the change, survivor's would hate the game without camping a lot more than the game with camping, imo.
It's probably just me but I don't see how camping equates to the same thing as needing aura reading capabilities. They're just not the same and don't serve the same purpose.

You can't play around dh for distance. There is literally no hard or soft counter for dh for distance. When killers complain about dh is for distance its never for the I frame because it does have counter play dh for distance doesn't.
But that doesnt leave the killer with his only option of countering it by slugging people. You won't slug someone just because they have dead hard. Even if they use it in a good manner, that's no reason to do something negative to them.
If they do dead hard for the distance then maybe dont waste even more time in that chase?
-
Definitely DS... you can play around it, but it requires slugging which is no fun for survivors. That said, as a killer, I have no reason to avoid a survivor unless they're literally the only one on death hook.
Since it's a 1 time use perk anyway what would you do? Slug everyone to play around it? No... that's just silly. It's also way easier to play around everyone having dead hard anyway.
-
It was EGC, second guy should have left when he saw his friends weren't with him, but other than that theres nothing you can do. You're not going to please everyone and you did what you felt like was the right move.
If they really wanted to save that guy from basement it was going to take everyone... especially depending on how far that basement was from the door. If even one person doesnt come, then the EGC basement is a no go.
Even if you wanted to save them... escaping gives way more BP. Unfortunately. The game really needs to revamp the survival aspect and just base it off of time played during the match. Not who escapes... even the survival offerings are basically a waste. Cant guarantee you will always escape.
Anyway, it's their fault for assuming you would just leave them for what I assume are 3 healthy survivors. That is definitely a GG go next game for that guy. Hope he learned something
-
Well the game technically has skill based MMR to match players with so you're probably doing very well. Even if you dont think you are.

It is when a killer face camps 1 survivor and the other 3 have to rush gens and ignore literally everything else.
NOED + Face camp needs to be nerfed somehow. Personally I want the camping to be knocked somehow as I think NOED is fine in a standard match.
I agree. Camping should have never been acceptable in this game. I'm dumbfounded by who ever made that decision... all around it's terrible, spreads negativity and only benefits one player. Who really thought it was a good idea to say that's ok? Really? 🤔

You seem to have missed the point where you are wasting time when doing it. And 1000 points for a dull totem ain't all that much.
Repairing a gen to 100% by yourself is 1250 pts... yeah, your time is not wasted
-
They both have some super obvious reasons as to why you would run them...
-
@Yords said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2617066#Comment_2617066
And what if one solo player goes off and tries to cleanse all totems when the killer doesn't even have it? They will just waste time, in solo queue there is no time for cleansing totems since you have to assume you are always playing with noobs. So yeah, a perk that can screw over people just because they have no means of communication can feel pretty cheap at times.
It's literally free BP... and you're checking for other hexes at the same time.
-
@Yords said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2616571#Comment_2616571
Depends. If it is solo, at most it can feel pretty cheap. If it works against a SWF, it is the SWF's fault for not cleansing all the totems.
Nothing about NOED is cheap... you do totems or you don't do totems. It feels cheap because people feel they should be rewarded for doing the bare minimum, which is repairing generators. Then they belive they should be able to leave without any problem.
-
It's not impossible for 4 survivors to finish 5 totems though
-
Yeah maybe an extension of the current crow mechanic but on a bigger scale. Like you can summon a group of crows in a location and they either pester survivors or send off with a bang like they do in the swamp maps. Or make it a channeled power and you can summon groups of crows around the map
-
They're all really fun to play too! I like to play boop the snoot for the last survivor sometimes... even though Pig deserves it more, dogs need love too

It'd have to bethisweekend, 'cause I have the new Animal Crossing update to play so not being able to play survivor won't matter to me. Otherwise, we'll need to wait for BHVR to add killer bots.Edit: Ah, you updated your title: no exhaustion perks and/or gen regression perks. It could be interesting. I never run exhaustion or gen regression perks, myself, but I wouldn't mind playing the game without having to deal with Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Ruin, and Surge/Jolt for a little while, though.
Right. A normal game without everyone using dead hard? Sign me up

Good advertising I guess 😄

I dont mind that the killer rituals are easy. It means I have a decent chance of leveling up killers I dont normally play. Like Pig or Doctor.
My issue is that i rarely ever see survivor challenges...been wondering if they're weighted to give more killer challenges
I need BP for my survivors too

Yes, you are doing something while being on the hook, it’s called being patient and hanging on for as long as possible in order to give your teammates time to get as many gens completed as possible.
It’s not that you don’t see it, it’s that you just don’t want to accept that it’s part of playing the game because it’s just not “fun”.
That is not an active action... nice try though
-
@Huge_Bush said:
Camping and tunneling do not take the game hostage, stop being over dramatic. You are still playing the game when getting tunneled and even when getting camped. Yes, they’re frustrating and boring, still doesn’t mean you’re not playing.
Complaining about “wasted time” is moot. Unless you earn a living do this, all video games can be considered a waste of time.
Finally, the game is 1 Vs 4. The 1 should be able to dictate who they go after and how fast they want them out of the match, granted that they can catch them first. Nerfing tunneling and camping will break that power dynamic and will also kill the game.
While I’d like to see face camping gone, there really aren’t many options to get rid of it without drastically changing the core game mechanics, something that if done wrong, can kill this game. So I don’t blame the devs for being overly cautious about it.
So being on hook for 2 mins, with little to no interaction is still considered playing the game? I dont see it.
Being on hook is part of the game, yes. Being on hook until you die because the killer wont leave long enough to let anyone help you should not be part of the game.
And no, you're not actually doing anything while you're on a hook. That is the purpose of the hook and the purpose of camping. To prevent a player from playing the game long enough to kill them and take the advantage.
-
I'll just say this: I wish we maybe got some new maps to play on for the Pinhead DLC, but I also wouldn't know what those maps would be. Just getting a killer and survivor for two content drops means we're hopefully going to see a new map soon...
but there's certainly no lack of content for the game. You have to be specific about what content is lacking.
-
This is such a strong topic for me... I'd say the absolute best way to get new people to stay is to kill off camping and tunneling strategies. It's a big turn off to me, and I hated dealing with these tactics as a new player. That should not be an acceptable marketing gimmick for a company that wants to see new players join their community.
-
Some people let their emotions dictate their lives and that's how they express themselves. I wouldnt take any of it personally because you did everything in your power to make the game fun for everyone. Theres nothing but acceptance after that depending on how the game ends. Win or lose, people should not be so incredibly toxic... but its unavoidable, so it's best to just compliment them and move on. If you cant say anything nice then leave the game and take a break. You shouldn't let people who ride their emotions get the better of you, so you might need some time to process that.

Trash players can be a full meta SWF in "red ranks" and still be trash due to how the grade system functions. If you, as a Pig, ran one perk against a meta squad - they either weren't trying to escape, or your MMR was low.
It's super simple to tell what survivor groups want to have fun and which ones want to leave. I dont get very many groups that just want to chase and have fun. I've had maybe two groups do that. I've had a handful of groups where I kill the last survivor as they're trying to escape. I've not had many groups leave where I have no kills to show for it. That's not very telling of what my MMR is, but I simply cannot believe that it's because of my MMR or the survivors being bad players.
-
@Junylar said:
They are only favored by the kill rate because most of survivors play in soloQ. The kill rate in soloQ is ~95%, while the kill rate in SWF is ~5%, so on the weighed average it happens to be just a bit above 50%, but this number doesn't mean much when half of your games are boring ez 4ks, and the other half is getting steamrolled and bullied by SWF without you being able to do anything about it.
I dont see where you have the numbers to support this. I've played more than a handful of survivor groups and they dont always make it. Even then I average 2 kills. So I'm not sure where this 5% comes from.

Because his gameplay is unhealthy in every sense of a 1v4 game. His power is extremely uninteractive for the survivors in the 1v1 while also requiring little skill or depth to play for the killer, but he is also weak in the 1v4, having a slower movement speed and no use for using his power at a range. In terms of 1v1 killers, he is not only one of the worst in terms of game design, but he isn't even the best at doing what he does.
I dont see how any other killer is more interactive than the next. In fact in terms of interacting he's closer to killers like Huntress and Nurse. Survivors aren't even necessarily designed to interact with killers... the number of killers you can interact with aren't very strong either.
Everything else you mentioned is simply how Trickster is designed to be played and played against. That alone doesnt mean Trickster is a terrible design. You have to explain some reasoning as to why that's a terrible design.
-
Maybe we need to put in support tickets for this. I know someone mentioned that it's not considered a known issue...

Once again it's not within the balance of the game. It's not a challenge if it's just luck based.
Challenge does not mean RNG luck.
I like a challenge where my skill is rewarded not a challenge where my skill doesnt matter only luck I get miss matched.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2613990#Comment_2613990
Cool, but ranks mean nothing lol. They're called grades and have no impact. Fact you dont know that means you arent high mmr sorry... but once again that's luck.
I can tell you for a fact they were all running dead hard, some BT, some DS and I forget the rest. MMR is not a concerning factor to me, regardless of how you feel about it. I'm saying the game is still winnable. No reason to give up.
-
Perks are only relevant in the mid to late game. I played against red ranks with a level 3 Pig and just one perk. I double pipped that game because I killed everyone before EGC. A lot of games come down to your mindset and how well you play against certain survivor perks. It's not over just because you aren't running what's currently meta.
-
I wonder why some people think hes horribly designed. I've been playing and enjoying Trickster, but not once considered that he is a bad killer
-
She does have the add-on that shows where you will blink. Maybe that will help?
-
It takes like 3-4 seconds to snuff a totem, and if you're already there chasing a survivor, popping a gen, or doing your rotation then why not snuff it? It gives you the same points for hooking a player. And takes much less effort. And its beneficial for you to snuff them anyway
-
I play killer and I'd really love to know why some killers camp and tunnel survivors out of the game. I understand if a certain survivor is being extremely toxic, or it feels that way, but still... camping and tunneling is not fun, and I think most killers know this already.
I still think it should be removed or at the very least negatively impact killers for their actions. Then we'll know who's doing it because they want to and who doesn't know their killer well enough.
For me personally I always have a specific game plan in mind when I play killer. It never involves camping or tunneling a survivor, but I'm constantly using powers for one reason or another. I also play very, very aggressively at times with gen pressure. I hate certain loops so I'll avoid them when humanly possible.
There are plenty of ways to play the game and still make it enjoyable for everyone. At least in my experience. Camping and tunneling are not enjoyable experiences. I bet most killers already know this.
