However there is a difference between the pride charm and blackface Leatherface.
Nobody uses blackface Leatherface to represent themselves and display pride in their identities in the match. It's not like there's some movement to do so either, when you have several characters for representation (such as Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Adam, Elodie, Jake, Zarina). However people do use the pride charm for that.
Furthermore, people equip blackface Leatherface to be racist, people equip the pride charm and have homophobic/transphobic actions against them. A better comparison would be asking about removing every non-white survivor, to which the logical answer would be "######### no".
So ban those people for being racist. And continue banning those people until they catch on and stop being so deliberate about their ignorance. Don't cave in to stupidity and stoop to their level just because it is an ugly annoyance. Show them why they are being ugly. Sometimes you have to show people what is acceptable and what is not, because they may have never been taught that.
Because the minute you cave under pressure they will keep doing more and more ugly things until there's nothing left to enjoy in the game. So remove the ugliness first, then we can talk about what is still relevant

I dont see any problems with proximity chat either... because the killer can hear you and that can be used as another form of information.
The only problem proximity voice chat has going against it is the childish demeanor most people have while sitting comfortably at home.

I don't care what you guys think but as a KILLER main if I go against this type of team I camp hooked survivors because I'm not going to waste my time looking through the map to find yall. If you want to avoid this boring playstyle you guys should be more interactive with me THE KILLER.
Killers are pretty strong so avoiding them and finishing your objective is the best way to ensure you live... not just that but we already know in this new MMR system that wins are tied to exit gates. Which they shouldn't be but that's for another time.
-
Cant say I've struggled against NOED in a long time. Not since I first started playing and had no clue what it was. Now I do bones anyway just in case I dont get too many good chases in with the killer.
I just dont understand why bones count towards boldness and not survival...
-
Had a game like that earlier too. First game I ever had like that where two survivors were stuck in a 3 gen scenario and were too scared to give the other one the hatch so they just hid for something like 10 minutes while I waited for them to attempt a generator.
I eventually killed them both and they were of course upset. But they should have realized that if they wanted the game to be over sooner all they had to do was come to me...
I wouldn't be surprised if the people you ran into were the same people I played against. I've never seen a survivor group do that in all of my games played.
-
Even more so when theres a gen that's almost done nearby I swear it attracts survivors even when theres a hooked player there.
I had a game a little while ago where this gen was at least 75% done. I hooked a survivor nearby and kicked the gen... came back after the hook save and sure enough caught someone else.
I got every survivor to 2nd hook trying to finish that one gen and save someone else...
-
Weekends seem to be mainly SWF groups so you won't find a solo queue survivor game. Not very quickly at least. Might as well play some killer, even if you just want to farm BP.
-
If theres 1 player left and we've all played our best then theres a good chance I'll give them hatch. If they tried to avoid me all game just to get hatch at the end then may the cards fall in their favor. This still applies to Pig and Demopup for me, but the snoot boop is crucial for hatch
-
Yeah I think Trickster is OK. I kinda wish we could save main event instead of it running completely out for no reason without a chance to even use it. I swear most of my main events go untouched unless I 99 it and wait for someone to get unhooked. I also feel like his movement speed could be buffed a bit during main event....
But of course, try running decent loops against Trickster and honestly even using Killer Shack if you have to. As with any strong ranged killer make sure you guys are doing gens together. Also keep in mind that Trickster is at his strongest when someone is unhooking a player, so time your saves carefully. If they're camping just find a gen because most people here are OK with such a tactile strategy in this game...
-
Just know that it's entirely possible you're being given a team of good survivors because their MMR may be too high to find them a game. Which then it gives up and matches them with the first available killer... it's not because the system wants to work against you, but rather its giving everyone a decent chance to play
-
I know theres a bug on pc where sometimes my friend wont join me in the game lobby. They always say it looks like we never joined a game to them. Then their game gets an error or something and they have to restart... definitely buggy sometimes
-
All in all it's up to each individual player as far as what happens before or after a boop. So just remember you're always taking a chance because it's more or less a game of chicken and faith altogether
-
I've always felt like perks should not be teachable to other characters. That's the only way you will find diversity in this game...

I've seen people talk about this a lot in the last few weeks, as a result of certain trans streamers being doxxed and "swatted", though I hadn't really paid much attention until yesterday.
It's worth mentioning that "Elix" at least, has their personal information all over the internet. I'd never heard of them until yesterday, but, It took me about 10 minutes to find their real name, D.O.B, address, employment history, education history, family connections, credentials/qualifications etc,. (everything essentially) just to make a point to someone else that whoever "swatted" this person, did not get their personal information by DDo'S'ing via DBD, which is what a lot of people seem to think has happened.
I was genuinely surprised at how many people think that you can locate someone's physical address using their IP address alone and are advising others to use a VPN as a result, when really, it's not necessary at all. It's actually what prompted me to create an account and post here.
That's why VPNs are becoming a hot thing now. People don't understand the internet and others are profiting off their misfortunes. Really sad to see companies doing that, but... just need to educate more people and give them better information.

It's 14 seconds to bless a dull totem 24 to bless a hex totem.
Oh ok so compared to 14 seconds you spend 2-3
-
You press space and boom... totem is gone'
Compared to what? 24 seconds to bless it?
-
Sounds like helping the killer to me, but I'm sure it's up to their discretion like everything else is
-
You cant get personal info just from attacking a network. That's what social media and Twitch are for. Be careful what personal info you give to complete strangers on the internet.
-
I'm kind of weird and I like having a perk for different things... so I have a combination of information, offensive and killer specific perks usually
-
I would just keep using your second keyboard and see if that issue comes back. If it does then it could be malfunctioning or have keys that are stuck. Especially if you like to grub on or near your laptop... grime can and will build up in places you don't think they would.
no I don't think you got hacked

i would agree depending on how much mmr you gain a match because if its a tiny bit maybe you just arent at that high mmr yet? but i do see why it could be confusing asf because the devs are so unclear
Very true. I probably just have to keep working on it

Almost 5500hrs and 745 Million Bloodpoints took it to get every Charakter to Prestige 3 with all perks.
And the completion of all characters is getting more difficult with every new chapter that gets released. Because you have to level 2 new characters and equip everyone else with the new perks.
I don't even want to know how it must be for a player who just started this game recently. It is almost impossible to get the perks you want on the character you want to play. Especially for newer killer players that rely on good perks it is really difficult to learn a new killer and enjoy that learning when you can't get proper perks to have even the slightest chance in competing with full loadout survivors.
I know it is not necessary to prestige and it is also not necessary at all to level every survivor. But I'm also not the "general" player. And the grind-problem for newer players is not that enormous but still insanely big.
You get more BP now with the tome and other events and codes, but it's also the leveling prcess alone that probably took 50 hours or even way more for a player like me.
I don't understand why we aren't getting rid of the different Perk Tiers, the differences between the tiera are already almost not noticeable after many perk changes.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/05GCKI1YJAJY/dbd-characters01.png
A lot of times I'll use my lvl 50 characters to help level up my other ones. Like if they have any 100% offerings, cakes, pudding, or party streamers. I'll use all of them up and spend it on another character.
-
I know theres no way to tell but if I can consistently get 3-4ks on most killers then I can only assume my MMR is, at the very least, above average
-
Having a bad game every now and then is not the end of the world. Nor does it mean that killers are weak... it means you still have much to learn about the game and playing your killer. Not every game is winnable and not every game is lost either.
It's all about finding a good strategy that works for you. Keep in mind though, going into a game, that you should always have more than one strategy in mind. One strategy doesnt work for every game so make sure to come up with several strategies your killer can use based on their powers, perks, etc to get the most out of them.
-
Survival BP addons are the worst. You have to play pretty scummy to get the full value out of them, and you have to escape through an exit gate (ideally). Never worth taking unless you have nothing else and want to burn through some keys.

Demo is the best killer

I wouldnt call it a problem since it is a great addition for new players not getting potential smurfers or ppl that dc over every small thing.
True... but I'd hate for someone to think they're playing with real players and not know they were paired with bots. Plus who knows if they're counting bots in the player count
-
So this must be an isolated problem with PC?
-
It may not be possible but I feel like just adding another zombie to the crew would make the game more interesting. Nemesis can then farm his zombies for tier 2 in early game or let them roam for extra gen pressure. Of course there would need to be some extra balance for that to happen.
I'd just like to see his zombies be annoying rather than a pushover since there are only ever 2 of them.

First of all, nobody is banned on reports alone, evidence is always required. If you were not actively taking part in the cheating in the game - you have nothing to worry about. Video evidence is required in cases like this and that would show the actual situation. Our team of ACM's knows exactly what to look out for, and are used to dealing with things like this.
Our Easy Anti Cheat is also constantly being updated to remove cheats like this and people are banned (contrary to popular belief), it's unfortunately a never ending circle however, because people constantly update their cheats and bypass the system, then the EAC is updated again for that, and then over and over.
Would video proof not show that this person is instantly healing? Without this topic even being here, there would be no evidence to the contrary that this person could be innocent... your video proof would instead be from the killers perspective, which wouldn't show that this person here is cheating or not

I can't believe I keep hearing people cry about being on the hook when it's one of the most fundamental aspects of the game. What do you expect the killer to do? Leave you on the ground to - oh wait. That's called slugging, and that makes Killers scumbags, too. I forgot.
We already talked about this earlier. I even said that being on hook is a gameplay mechanic. That does not make camping acceptable in any way, shape, or form. At least not without making up rules that allow such things to happen and more or less spiral out of control. We wouldnt be talking about camping if it wasn't an issue for anyone.
-
It would be nice if his chainsaw moved at one acceptable speed, and had more control of his turning. But that will never happen

They are not prevented from playing the game. Being hooked is a consequence of that survivor making three failed checks in a row.
If you are on a hook, you got spotted by the killer. That's fail #1. He then chased you, and nailed a hit on you. That is fail #2. You then got a sprint burst and a chance to run away, and you lost that chase, too. That is fail #3.
Survivors need to stop acting like being on the hook is some punishment they got for doing no wrong and realize it is a natural consequence of a game with chases. A huge amount of the Survivor player base says "Being in a chase is the only fun part of the game". Well, chases have consequences. The killer's objective is to hook you. Why do you think you are entitled to be unhooked?
I cant believe you're actually trying to have this conversation right now...

Game hostage. Player hostage. A minor semantic there but the game itself has a definitive definition of use of the word "hostage", and nothing on a timer is held hostage. As hooks are on a time, along with slugging and the EGC, nothing involving those three things is held hostage. Bodyblocking in the corner, THAT is holding a player hostage.
Uh... yeah sure, I guess if we're only using made up rules and cant find a way to fix camping... sure, it's not holding a player hostage... just preventing them from playing the game until they are dead
-
Thrill of the Hunt could be a base perk which would make it a boon counter and a hex buff
-
Always be careful when talking to strangers as a general rule of thumb. I know it's good to find caring and thoughtful people on the internet but you should treat them all as strangers until you can fully trust them. Be especially wary if they ask personal questions

You need to look up what holding the game hostage means. Nothing on a timer qualifies.

You can't take a player hostage, it's a gameplay mechanic, a part of the game and we must accept it (sadly), like "tunneling" and "genrushing". They are boring? Yes. They can be countered efficiently and easily? Yes. The real problem are people who REFUSE to adapt to some kind of playstyle when you are forced to play in a certain way in order to have good chances of escaping/killing.
Just an example: I previously did a match against a bubba facecamper, he won, killing everyone. You know why he didn't have troubles? Cause I was THE ONLY ONE that was working on generators. Wanna know what the others did? They were swarming the hook... Aganist a bubba (and it was already obvious from the noise that the chainsaw did, paired with the aura of the downed survivor that was leaving the locker in the 1st chase)... Without insidious...
Hooking a player is a gameplay mechanic. Camping the hook and not allowing anyone to unhook them is, at best, holding that player hostage until they die.
-
Camping isn't a problem because somebody thinks it's a strong strategy... it has more to do with taking a player hostage and not allowing them to play.
-
I think the reason people dont use it more is because it is a hex. So theres no benefit after its cleansed

Omg, how hard is it that you don't have to take my examples as gospel. You play your own games and are you going to tell me that survivors are going out of their way to ensure you have fun? Because lets face it that is what survivors are telling killers to do, because they don't like how they play. This is not a hard concept to grasp.
It is definitely not the survivor's job to help the killer complete their objective. The killer and survivor objectives only collide when it comes to finishing generators. After that, it's up to the killer and the survivors both to complete their own objectives.
-
@Kalinikta said:

Wait so you are telling me:
- If you have 1 hook and 1 gen left they ease up the pressure and allow you to come back.
- The survivors did not teabag you during the game.
- The survivors aren't compulsory clicking their flashlights at you.
- Not trying to prevent you getting your first hook, etc.
We are talking about in game actions that people do, that are not considered fun or nice for the other side.
Do you win every game you play and even if you win, how do they act within the premise of the game.
Preventing a hook is all about survival and protecting others. I think you even get protection points for taking hits while the killer is holding a survivor.
I don't end the game on 1 hook. Something has to go horribly wrong or I'm chasing a good survivor for a reason. Usually not worth my time though.
I don't see survivors run a lot of flashlights, even in SWF. Mostly medkits and toolboxes
-
@Kalinikta said:

What.... I never said anything about it being the only viable option and it is not the point I am making. They are valid and viable options, they are not the only options. They are viable tools within your toolbox to use, just the same as proxy camping/intercepting the save, going for a 3 gen, slugging, etc. Frankly if you just do them without any thought behind it, the chances are once you get better they aren't going to pan out in a lot of cases.
Do you refute my statement that survivors are not concerned about your enjoyment when you play killer?
I wouldn't know that information. I do know that survivors still say GG after a game, even when they lose or die. I don't think too many people want to specifically be negative towards other players but like I said... I can't get that info for you 😓
-
@Kalinikta said:

Another person that fails to understand the intent behind the post; It is not about the outcome of the game, it is about the behavior of the people you face and the entitlement of those that believe that demand their opponents play a specific way. If you win good, if you lose also fine as you cannot win them all.
How do the survivor's act towards you, do they relieve the gen pressure when you are having a rough time, do they not tea-bag you or click away with flashlights trying to poke you for a negative reaction?
I don't see that as a good reason to tunnel or camp so I just assumed you meant to say that it's the only viable option
-
@Kalinikta said:
The challenge is simple:
- Pick a killer
- Play the killer
- Play nicely, never camp, never tunnel
See how survivors respond... every time I start playing the game I try and the result is always the same; Gens fly, survivors click away, tea bag and without failure gather up in the exit gate and wait till the very last moment to leave... because winning alone isn't enough, they need to tea bag at the exit gate or spam you with sound notifications if you don't show up.
Well I know this as a challenge, but... I dont camp or tunnel any of my games and I still get 4ks every now and then. I say that because I would get more 4ks if I didnt let the last survivor just leave, which I usually do.
Demo, Ghostface, Trickster, Pig... you name it

Of course you don't use that combo.
Empathy to fellow killer mains.
But you use Ruin, Pop, Corrupt, Tinkerer or Ruin, Undying, Corrupt, Tinkerer. No shame there.
It should exist.. it would make it counterintuitive to run exhaust perks and Iron Will together. This would make builds more unique, as they should be.

This was my first thought too.
Thing is - it would explain the odd instant queue into a nutso .TTV lobby.
It doesn't explain why I'll get instant queues all evening.
SWFs pop up more in the evening because everyone has more time to play together. That and group play boosts MMR, and I'm sure a lot of SWFs fall into that category within an hour or so of playing together. Even better if they all escape through exit gates.
