It's about increased lobby dodging.
It's about increased wait times.
It's about decreased killer variety.
Is the something you would support?
Please stop focusing on the single player and focus on the player base as a whole.
It won't only be me that may be forced to dodge, it will be every player.
1) People who dodge are going to do it with or without the lock. The increase will likely have a negligible impact.
2) Increased wait for the person who dodged. The survivors will barely notice. As for killer,matches are easy to get. So again the wait will be minimal.
3) How does it decrease killer variety? Unless you're saying Plague and Legion are only played because of 4 med kits. In which case I don't feel bad for them in the slightest that they can't hard counter the survivors item.
4) Nobody will be forced to dodge. You might get in a lobby that isn't to your liking. 4 flashlights against hag for example. It would likely be a bad game. And understandable that you did dodge. But you weren't forced to do anything.

this nerf to killer or something?
It's honestly a nerf to both sides. But yeah, killers got it worse from this move.

They are fine for survivor. But for killers it's awful. BBQ is almost useless right now and everything is hard to see (survivors, hooks, gens, exit gates...). Another problem for killers after countless nerfs
They're awful for survivor. I was running Kindred and could barely make out the auras of everyone.
-
I wondered if it would work that way.

I have 6 survivors I use. You attacked 4 out of the 6. Leave Dweat alone you bully.

It wasn't just killer mains saying "Don't you dare".
It was most of the community, survivor and killer alike. You're in the minority because you can't loop a Billy.
Exactly . I'm a survivor main and thought it was completely unnecessary. Thankfully they listened and it doesn't seem as bad it was originally slated to be.

They apparently didn't have time to get them done before the update. Supposedly there'll be a hot fix coming.

Id argue 90% of his add ons are useless, didn't speed add ons get nerfed as well?
I believe the engraving add-ons were nerfed. I was familiar with the old numbers. But they look useless. The 3 out of the 4 commons aren't bad. Not amazing. But not bad. Then there's basically 1 uncommon, rare, and very rare that seem okay. And the ultra rares are trash. At least that's my assessment.

Just like killer mains said basekit billy was balanced and only his addons were a problem and they would be fine with them changed but now they’re crying for the charge speed, cooldown, and running/turning speed add ons back. So that was all a lie too.
Because his stacked charge add-ons were the problem. Honestly all they needed to do was make them not stack. Problem solved.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Remember when everyone said basekit Billy was balanced and just needed his add ons nerfed?
Weeks on everyone begging for his chainsaw affecting add ons back lmao Shows you what Billy players were really like
No, they want add-ons that aren't trash. Everyone knew insta saw Billy was too much. But they deleted all his charge add-ons except one, and throw a ridiculous downside on it. When it's a very rare add-on.
-
Don't you mean how useless 3/4 of his add-ons are?
-
Huntress. As stated above, her add-ons aren't in line with the ratio they have for other killers. Will they simply wreck her add-ons of will the add a power bar to her hatchets? That's the only question left in my mind. At this point I'm guessing she has some kind of fatigue from throwing hatchets added. If she throws too many she goes into a tantrum or something of the like.
-
Has you're game been updated yet? Mine is doing so now. So I can't speak to the damage they've wrought.

My favorite line in the patch notes. So tired of hearing how 'perfectly balanced' Billy was from killer mains the last few weeks.

Where did you find patch notes?

Aside from being bugged a competent nurse will still wipe the floor with 99.9% of the playerbase so I don't see the issue. She is still absolutely the power role on most maps
You mean aside from BHVR telling everyone it was just going to be an add on pass then adding the power bar that nobody wanted? They turned her add-ons into absolute trash. She now has what 3 or 4 okay add-ons. Adding a couple of seconds to her blinks because the power bar takes longer than the fatigue. All of which might have at least been okay with players if they hadn't also caused a bunch of bugs for her that still aren't fixed.

I mean lets take a stroll down memory lane pal. Nurse survivors got nerfed into the ground. Legion survivors got nerfed even when they had second lowest pickrate so combine that with all his nerfs when he first came out. Billy is obviously right now. Ruin got nerfed because survivors couldn't hit a skillcheck. Survivors get a basically ds buff lose pallet vacuums some infinites and instaheals (which people now use for the people for mixed with the cheryl perk). So i mean. Im sure i could go back and look at the past patches and ill see a lot more killer nerfs than survivors and a lot more survivor buffs than killer buffs. Although i already know how biased you are its a forum meme at this point but i hope your not oblivious.
To be fair survivors didn't get Nurse nerfed. Survivors and killers agreed her add-ons needed nerfed. Then BHVR went batshit with power bars. Also I'd say across the history of DbD survivors have received more nerfs. Granted most were needed.
As for the op. Other than the game being heavily survivor sided I agree. The power bars on Billy and Bubba are a terrible idea.

Add-ons are trash. Agreed. Can he even curve anymore?
I'm sure it's still possible. It's the likely frustration that will come from the over heat mechanic that's bothering me.
@ins0 interesting take on it. My only real disagreement with you is survivors are celebrating the Billy nerf. There were a few. But the vast majority were as baffled by it as everyone.
-
@Zeus said:
We'll see how he plays out before we come to conclusions. They've changed a few things. Let's wait and test it ourselves.
From what we saw of the ptb I think it's clear. His add-ons are now trash. That is beyond certain at this point. I'm pretty damn certain the power bar will make him tedious to play. I'd love to be wrong. But I've been burned by BHVR too many times to not be skeptical.
-
@IIITweedleIII said:
Isn't this argument abit Repetitive anymore? What's done is done. 😐
Probably. But my frustration at the ridiculous situation has just kinda boiled over. I have no illusion that anybody from BHRV will read this. Or give a damn about what I think even if they do happen to read it. But I have nothing to lose by trying to prevent any other killers from getting this hit job. If nothing else I feel better to have gotten it off my chest.

@Todgeweiht said:
You guys keep telling to yourselves that billy was completely fine.
Because he was. He needed a couple of small tweaks. Instead the basically put a hit out on him. I say this as a survivor main. With Billy gutted I'm sure I'll just see more Deathslingers and PH's. In other words survivor will be miserable.
-
Literally all Billy need was for his charge add-ons to not stack. And a slight reduction in his chainsaw hit box. Instead we got another Billy got jumped, beaten, and left for dead. I'm not even a Billy main. I've only very recently played him. And I'm personally pretty pissed off the more I think about it.
-
100% Bubba. BBQ is to valuable starting out not to get asap.
-
Not really. I'm going to miss Billy. And I'm not looking forward to all the Bubbas. Or all the Franklin's Demise players.
-
It make me want killer weapon swap. Like Pig with Bubbas mallet.

You must be one of those people who have only seen a few of his YT videos and think that’s the bulk of the survivors he goes against.
He goes plays against potatoes all the time. And he doesn’t call them optimal.
But you’re definitely cool and all with your snide remarks.
People give Tru3 ######### because he's arrogant. I don't believe he does it as much. But his older streams were basically long periods of him complaining about the game. With a bit of Dead ard, bai ted, and optimal sprinkled in.

They can find the hatch by their own, or while you chase them again, which means more bp if you haven't maxed out. The emblems mean nothing unless you're doing the archives or adept, that's the reason why we're getting mmr soon. It's not rude, they're just playing the game. If a player doesn't know this made-up rule of "don't wiggle if you want hatch" exists, then they'll just do as they think they're supposed to. Not everyone plays for hundreds of hours or gets on the forum to become aware of these awkward conventions that they don't have to wiggle because it hurts the killer's ego.
I understand not everyone will know not to wiggle. I typically drop them one after they wiggle and shake my head no at them. Short of messaging them mid game there's not much more I can do to make them understand. If they persist in wiggling I assume they either don't want hatch, or don't understand. Either way, they've made their choice.

Blendettes never get hatch intentionally!
I usually hook last person if they struggle. Although one time i had a meg i think. We walked around all of pale rose with her on my shoulder looking for hatch. After about 3 or 4 minutes i just hooked her and apologized for wasting her time. But i swear hatch didnt spawn!
Had A similar situation with a Hag on Hawkins a while back. I swear it took us 10 minutes to find the damn thing. And that was after she dropped me so we could search separately. Honestly I couldn't have cared less if I loved. I just wanted to know where the damn thing was at that point.
-
@PrettyFaceKate said:
If I don't have to kill them all for some specific reasons, I give the hatch to players who performed exceptionally well, or who took one for the team, or who were sandbagged/griefed by their teammates.
If they struggle or not carries absolutely no weight in my decision. The wiggle=kill is some fictitious rule of some fictitious killer rulebook made up by someone with power-tripping fantasies of domination.
If They struggle it makes it harder for me to take them to the hatch. Also them getting off my shoulder hurts my emblem score. I'm already giving up a decent chunk of points and a bit to my emblems to give them hatch as it is. At that point I consider it rude.
-
It all depends on how you're using it. You downed one person and there's another nearby, yeah slug and chase the other person. If you're just constantly slugging trying to win with a 4 man slug, yeah that's pretty lame.
The other part is slugging at 5 gens can feel like the killer is going to be super sweaty. And let's face it. Games are never fun when one or both sides play super sweaty.

I burned 10 Bloody party streamers to get the 4 deep wounds challenge in a row done, TEN where I did very little but frenzy and try to get the 4 in one run, i banged on gens, i didn't hook anyone so i got 6K each match, maybe 7, gotta love that they got 30-40K and i get 12K for 10 bps.... their over all responses? we just thought you were that bad. that's when i got pissed and slugged the next group and let them bleed out, then quit for the day.
That is really bad luck. The only other thing I can suggest is messaging one of them. I've never had them refuse when I do that.
@DrDeepwound that's been my experience as well. They typically catch on if I haven't messaged them directly. I feel bad for Freki. They seem to have the worst luck with this.
-
I honestly don't understand the must 4k mentality. I get at higher ranks you practically need it to pip. But who cares? We all know piping really doesn't matter. If I'm killer all I care about if I got decent points and didn't get completely bodied. After that it doesn't really matter to me.
-
@Onyx_Blue said:
@notstarboard the Bleed Out Timer is highlighted by a bright red pulsing outline on the HUD when it's paused. Same as when a survivor is being unhooked :)
I was about to say how the hell do you spot that on a 4 minute timer.
-
If they weren't disrespectful earlier tbagging, flashlight clicking, things of that nature I'll typically give them the escape. Or if they had an early DC/hook suicide. If they wiggle then I hook them.
Funny story about survivors not wiggling. One time I had bodied a team pretty hard. So I decided I'm going to give Feng hatch. I walk all over the map looking for it. She finally starts to wiggle. So I say screw it, I'm tired of looking and hook her. Only to realize the Meg is still alive. My dumbass thought Feng was the last one alive. So I wasted 3 minutes walking around with this Feng on my shoulder. Looking for a hatch that hadn't spawned.
-
If nothing else was said they may have been disgruntled by the idea you were smurfing. Just as people dislike high rank survivors trying to bully low level killers. People will dislike the reverse.
As to you're point about killers not intentionally deranking, I had a Wraith doing exactly that the other day.

i've rarely experienced anyone wanting to help me as killer to get a challenge done even though IF I KNOW what the challenge is i'll try and help a survivor. I come up on a gen and people scatter i start smacking the gen, i down the survivor TAKE them past several hooks and smack a gen while they wiggle off they don't want to... so my experience is my charity as a killer is unwanted. I shouldn't even try ah well. how ever i've found more killers willing to help survivors get their challenges done when they know what it is! interesting dichotomy eh?
Typically If you want a specific challenge done you need to message one of them. I've never had a survivor refuse to help. Burning a anniversary cake or streamer helps as well.
-
They look nice. But my concern is will it damage performance. My other concern is the shack. Will that ramp eliminate/alter shack looping? Will the killer need to go up that ramp in order to put someone in the basement?
-
@WheresTheGate said:

Someone played one. All things considered I would assume it was the killer.
You're right. Most will help if asked. I don't like to farm, but I will in almost every instance if I am asked instead of told. If I sit down to play and I know I've only got time for one match at that point I may back out from a lobby if a killer wants to farm. The only reason at that point is if I only have time for one match I don't want it to be farming. But I at least give them the opportunity to find someone that has time to go along.
I've found that's a good way to gain good will from survivors who are a bit wary of trusting a killer asking for help.
-
It definitely can suck to have a key cut things short like that.
-
This guy was an idiot. Most survivors are willing to help with a daily or just farm if you ask. When I needed to finish some Tome challenges I never had people refuse to help. Demanding is just begging for them to refuse.
As a side note did the killer burn any BP offerings?
-
Yes. Such a shame...

Sometimes just M1-ing gens can be an indicator too.
I was about to say I just hit the gen. Regardless of killer they usually catch on.

If you are on PC OhTofu has a Nurse guide that might help.

Deactivate it when working on a gen. That's all.
