Maybe she's not useless, but i do feel she could be better in some way

She's not useless but she's not great. To me, she's similar to Legion. Has an ability but isn't that good.

Actually I was trying to help you out, so you can enjoy the event also. Sometimes you have to adapt to changes in the game, and when it comes to this event, that adaptation would only last, what, like a week?

    Mmhmm

I've provided you with information of how to play with the new mechanics. You can choose to listen them, or not. I could care less. The event doesn't bother me in the slightest. So yeah dude, I'm not complaining. Surivors fooling around with snowmen, aren't working on gens. That's actually a good thing.

It's couldn't care less and you may not be complaining but you are stirring ######### on the forums looking to start an argument.

  • @MrSlippery said:

Christ dude, it's not that hard.

"Speak for yourself. The event has been benefiting me on killer side. Good ol Nemesis can whip survivors and tier up, and they can't do anything about it. Plus the event has made Clown actually decent, with the Exposed bottles add on."

Also any perk that requires basic and/or secondary attacks will activate by hitting a snowman, that has a survivor inside. Most of the time, you can smack the survivor before they can even get fully in the snowman, and they get hindered, because of it. You aren't looking for advantages to the event. Only wanting to complain.

I think you're the one looking to start drama and complain. You can't seem to grasp the concept of not everyone is going to agree with you. On that note, continue on.

Some killers have a slight advantage from the event. Some get nothing. A good few (Ghostface, Legion, Twins) have their kits completely broken by the snowmen - which remove Mark and Deep Wound.

It would be one thing if survivors were just having fun and memeing around but 9/10 groups I've faced over the past few days are using them as a pseudo-BT or a pretty nasty bodyblock tool.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2692685#Comment_2692685

    Nobody is coming at you.

People are just disagreeing with you.

If you are a Ghostface or a Legion main, yeah - you'd be pretty annoyed at this event. This clearly wasn't tested properly.

Thank you! I don't know where he's getting this idea that someone is coming after him just because we disagree. Ridiculous. Especially since he replied to my post first. Someone looking to start drama.

dude why you getting so serious? LOL chill out.

He said that the one shot clown bottles still give the effect if they hit someone in a snowman

What? I read what he said. That's still nowhere near a fair trade off for what survivors get.

  • @Frontdoor6 said:

Her ability feels useless on maps like the Swamp or Silent Hill, its also not very pressuring

Besides from the Exhaustion one, her addons are basically useless. They give little and take too much away, or they're just not worth using at all

And worst of all, her ability recharge is way too slow. Even with the Festering Carrion addon and the Thick Tar addon, survivors can still repel the crows swarming them before the ability is recharged enough for you can shoot a crow at them

When's the midchapter patch, which hopefully will include Artist buffs?

Survivors getting into lockers is what hurts Artist. Swarm gone instantly.

Yeah you're right. Killers let every single thing in the game bother them, rather than use new mechanics to their advantage.

What advantage are you speaking of? I've found zero for killer side.

I'm actually just regurgitating the MANY posts complaining about the event from the killer's perspective. So no, I'm not speaking for just myself.

  • @FrostySeal said:

As if playing solo queue isn't miserable enough now snowmen are added into the mix leading many people into going inside of one and doing absolutely nothing the entire game. It's incredibly annoying when you have people like this in your game because not only will most killers just let them go but some of these people will not only be useless but also BM you. For example, I've had some games whereas I'm on the hook the snowman will come up to me and just shake their head no. It was funny the first time but repeatedly getting useless teammates in your game gets super annoying really fast.

That's the nature of solo que. Useless teammates often.

  • @RakimSockem said:

Just played against a pinhead that would never m1 a person in a snowman and would just put chains on you then walk away.

Like.... we're trying to participate in an event, have fun, and get cosmetics. Who hurt these people to make them so anti-fun? What's the point of being so sweaty to people trying to get cosmetics?

The only ones having fun are survivor players. To be fair, killer players got nothing out of this event besides a few useless trinkets and having to deal with another extra health/chance for the survivors.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2692594#Comment_2692594

I mean, yeah. Some survivor perks do.

And there are countless more on both sides that are bad and need buffs.

NOED is the one killer perk I refuse to run because of how cheap it is. I also don't bring COH as survivor, and I use dead hard in probably...2% of my matches? Probably even less?

I only use Dead Hard on David and CoH on witch girl. No one else. I run Noed on two killers. Freddy and Trickster. I don't think it's any more cheap than 5 gens being done before the killer can get a third hook. I believe that's what the devs intended for Noed. To counter experienced gen rushing survivors that have tunnel vision.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2692594#Comment_2692594

    Sure, I'd absolutely agree.

But saying "do bones" to counter NOED is like when Survivors said "just don't tunnel' with old DS.

I don't know. When I use to run Noed more it got removed often. I don't believe it's an unfair perk because it can be, and often is, countered. Especially, with the introduction of multiple boon totems. I don't see it getting changed or nerfed. Not until something is done about other perks first.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2692586#Comment_2692586

    Yeah, I did that actually.

For over 100 games, in fact. And I recorded stats for it, just to see if "do bones" was a reasonable argument.

It isn't. Unless you make a build solely dedicated to hunting totems, Solo Q has almost zero chance to cleanse all 5. Duo isn't much better.

The only times I found it to be remotely possible were in 3 and 4 man SWF, where it was easy to keep track of totems and cleanse them.

NOED is a bad perk. It unfairly punishes Solo and Duo Q, but does very little to SWF groups. It needs a rework to be useful.

Just queuing as solo is unfair punishment in this game. Don't know what to tell you other than deal with it. If Noed needs a rework or nerf then so do some survivor perks. Can't be unfair to one side over and over.

Literal "trash talk." I've been called trash twice. The first time, I probably deserved. I'm pretty sure I got someone off the hook then ran away, leaving them to die. The second time, just now, I was playing a new character (the Nurse) trying to get in a daily challenge. I did terrible. So yeah, maybe I did deserve it that time too. The difference between these two times was how I responded. The first time I responded with "Thanks" and he said "You're welcome" and then we were fine. The second one, I responded with "#########" and now my stomach hurts. I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere.

Trash and clown are the popular words to call someone online these days. Just keep in mind that these mental midgets that call people names would never have the balls to act that way in person. They are cowards. Sniveling scum that uses the Internet to feel like somebody. These people are, in fact, nobodies. Do not let it bother you.

This guy had the basement challenge which (I HAD NO IDEA UNTIL END GAME CHAT WHEN HE ADMITTED HE WAS DOING THE TOME CHALLENGE) was to bring us all to the basement and have us die.

But I said no and kept escaping him and running as far away from the basement as I could.

He got so mad and decided to lock me in a corner until I disconnected, I planned to wait him out, see if he'd DC first but I had other things to do that were far more important. I'm posting it here because I'm not sure where to report someone like this because the in-game reporting system does nothing.

I can agree survivors can be pretty rude and unpleasant from times, it's also real frustrating sometimes when you're even doing a challenge that can't get finished because someone decided to screw you over.

But as far as the game goes I wouldn't hold them hostage in a corner because I couldn't complete challenge. In my mind I would, but I wouldn't go as far as to actually do it.

Maybe you're the dick here. If you're team was done for and you kept being spiteful and petty to deny him his challenge then I can't sympathize with you.

I agree. His idea of a rework makes Noed useless. I suspect that's what he wants. Probably a survivor masquerading as a killer.

  • @steamed_hamzzz said:

Speaking as someone who plays about 70% killer, the current NOED just feels so cheap and unrewarding to use. Not to mention extremely un fun to go against as a survivor

We’re also in the “99” meta right now where survivors will complete 99% of the exit gates so they’re essentially open and ready for everyone to escape, but without the pressure of the end game collapse or killer perks like Blood Warden

So how about if we kill two birds with one stone and reworked Hex: No One Escapes Death into a perk that automatically starts regressing the exit gates once a survivor stops working on them, and maybe also made the person opening them Exposed just to spice things up

This would force survivors to either fully open the gates or risk everyone dying if the killer chases them back to the now partially regressed exit gates

another idea would be to maybe add in a hook prerequisite on top of that similar to No Way Out. So if you hook 1 survivor the gates will regress a maximum of 20%, 2 hooks 30%, 3 hook 40% and if you hook all survivors at least once you’re guaranteed 50% regression (providing they don’t just open them straight away that is)

I think this would be much healthier for the game and a much more rewarding perk than the current NOED

Nah. It's fine the way it is. Survivor fun isn't the only thing that matters. I hope it never gets changed.

I'm sorry and I don't want to turn this thread into a "bash on random huntress player" but I really wouldn't use this specific example to prove your point, the player missed very open shots even before Steve reached any snowmen.

I understand you don't like the mechanic, and it's fair, it's basically impossible to please everyone, but at this point it seems like you are reaching to find issues with the snowmen.

There's nothing in this event for killers. Certainly, nothing like snowmen which give an extra life. An extra chance to survive. Of course they don't like it. They have legitimate gripes daily on here and it seems to me you guys don't care at all and go out of your way to piss them off further. Seems like it's fun and games for one side and the other side be damned.

I just wanted to play survivor with my sister spice, and that is usually fine during the day (west coast). But, today, we just gave up and played killer. What's with that? Killers must REALLY hate these snowmen. Rofl.

Hear me out before raging against the title please.

This game is based on horror tropes, and one of those is a bunch of teenage-college aged men and women doing the nasty/showing some skin before getting brutally murdered. Usually it's by a grotesque killer that directly embodies everything the survivors aren't, and well, that is a staple of the horror genre. The sexiest survivor outfits currently aren't nearly enough, as (except for David) they don't show enough skin. Who else wants a full on Bikini/Speedo centered set for these characters? If it doesn't fit their lore, then it can be adjusted to give them more character, but honestly... Who wouldn't want to see Jane, Kate, Feng Min, or even Mikaela in a 2 piece? Hell Who wouldn't want to see Jake, David, Adam or even freaking Bill rocking a speedo or trunks?

I know many of you are asking the same about the killers, and for some of them I can agree (especially The artist, woof), but let's face it, the only reason we'd ever see Hag in a string bikini, is if it was done for comedic purposes, which are in opposition to her character and the games original intents. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Spirit or Nurse in similar attire, and would even relish it if they were period specific to the characters, but what do you think about the Charlotte? Blight? Ghost face? Don't get me wrong, while Wraith in a speedo may make some peoples knees weak, the same can't be said for Hillbilly or the Doctor and so on.

Mainly the sex appeal HAS to come from the survivors, as they are representatives of the victims of horror movies starting back in the late 70's and going on presently in modern horror. Interestingly enough the reason this is effective is because it's rarely done in those films for the tasteless "Eye Candy" aesthetic, and has a much deeper meaning to it in film than most realize. The bottom line is that This is a NEEDED element, as it presents vulnerability in a cosmetic form. In reality, While audiences may want to see it happen, that is beside the point of it. Said point being that the characters are near naked, and otherwise defenseless. While it may be pleasing to an audiences eyes, the fact remains that if anyone found themselves in that state of undress during a crisis that could cost them their lives in reality... they would feel heavily disadvantaged.

That's what this game needs right now, and being that it's a Mature rated game, I don't see any further reason to neglect it. ..Much like how I feel about how BHVR treats Gore in this game, but that's a different discussion that will mostly bemoan them for being a bunch of wimps despite making a mature rated Horror themed game.

The more ho a survivor dresses the the more I wanna see them out of the game as quickly as possible. Not everything in life needs to revolve around or include sex.

This is exactly why I dislike the forum policy of not calling out trolls. Here we have a user with a comment history that oozes of self-aggrandizement and is now manufacturing an obvious bait for people who have already voiced their displeasure with the imbalance of the event.

You didn't post this for any reason other than to try and annoy people. Imagine being so petty that after you bullied that killer it still wasn't enough for your starved ego.

She's a troll and a bully. She gets her jollies off by being legitimately toxic. She's probably never played one game as a killer. If she had, she would know how it feels and wouldn't be the way she is. People like her are the reason there are less and less killer players. The ques are gonna keep getting longer and sooner or later the devs will have to give incentives to even que as a killer.

  • Noted. However, you've never interacted with me on the forums. I've read alot of your crap and it's always something to do with finding enjoyment out of bullying killers, whining about how whichever killer needs a nerf because you and your SWF didn't like how the killer managed to get one sacrifice or a hook, and being an overall troll. Try playing both sides. You may not enjoy being treated like you treat others.

Let's face it, we all love DBD. It's why we keep coming back, and it's why we flood the forums and social media with both praise and hate. Lately it's been more hate, and it's not hard to see why. We all want to see DBD thrive, but there's been no serious competition, and for too long BHVR has enjoyed the barren landscape. Why change anything if nothing threatens to contest the throne? But now just around the corner we have VHS, Evil Dead, and now The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from the makers of the Friday the 13th game.

Friday the 13th could have been something really special, and serious competition for DBD if only the developer hadn't been forced to abandon the project because of ongoing litigation with the property. Hopefully one, if not all of these properties will prove to be worthwhile competition, because DBD sorely needs it. Only through quality competition can we start to see changes for the better.

If TCM is anything like F13th was then it will definitely be competitive.

One of the main factors that contributes to perceived player toxicity in dbd is role identification. That means playing mainly one side as opposed to the other. If you want to understand one side then you need to play the other side. Simple.

I enjoy playing survivor. I really do but I have only gotten to play killer lately due to work times. By the time I get off work the survivor ques are so long and the killer ques are near instant.

  • @RainehDaze said:

Been trying to make sense of this contradictory viewpoint for a while now. The only fun part of the game for survivors is interaction with the killers and being chased, and anti-loop powers or mobility powers that make it hard to play around loops are therefore bad... but a short game where you're only being chased and then you get sacrificed is also unfun?

If chases are the only fun part of the game, how is a short game where you're tunnelled not fun? How can people then complain it doesn't let them play the game?

It's not. That's just an excuse people use. Nothing fun about chases, especially when they get caught. What they mean to say is chases are fun when they never get caught and get to teabag and flashlight at the gates.

Less killers available to fill lower level responsibilities = survivors going up against sweaty killers more often. I like to compare it to the economy. Less workers to fill the demands of a society=a society with less filled demands. Hurts survivors in your instance because it makes your games overall worse as in your scenario putting you up against full gen slow down sweat in an MMR range that doesn't really call for it or need it.

I warned about this kinda thing before, but nobody really listens to killers outside of ignoring our feedback as "an excuse" or "git gud" or "just whining". End of the day all it does is upset the balance and you end up with situations like yours. Low level killers simply stop giving a damn at some point and either give up entirely or go play survivor.

    1. The sweat of killer role right now isn't appealing to new killers.
    2. The grind required to "git gud" involves a massive grind that gets exponentially longer every new patch to strive toward perks which pushes new killers away since every killer you play you need to get every single perk you used to use over again. Unlike survivor where you can just pick a main, and get everything in the game. All survivors play exactly the same so you don't need to grind over and over again.
    3. MMR handling for new killers puts them up against people with 1000+ hours for no reason and SWF's. Which, if you've never been bullied as a killer, depending on the severity, you can make a person quit the role entirely. And I wish I was joking.

Put all of that together and new killer retention rates drop, and survivors have to face the try hards who will not budge as killer and play RIDICULOUSLY SWEATY every single game, AKA killers who have thousands of hours, know every loop and counter etc, AKA you get to play against Marth or Angrypug and "pros" every game.

But yeah without a doubt newer killers are dropping out, I've watched them make quitting posts....

I've noticed this. I don't know what my killer MMR is but I am Iridescent rank 3. I've been going up against alot of Ash and Bronze survivors recently and a few Silvers. Not complaining too much as playing against Iridescent SWF survivors gets old after an hour.

@topic funny enough that i have been validated only once overall since the implemented it and that was and intentional (questionably) late hit through a pallet.

But i have had multiple grabs get faked out and even a locker pull one time. I start the locker anymation and the survivor still slips out and runs away while I was stick with the pull animation only that it could cancelled midway and I couldn't move for the remaining duration of it.

I've had a few grabs get ignored when playing Spirit. It goes to grab them and even counts as a grab for challenge purposes but they then run off. It's not right.

You failed at math? Idk if you ever played solo q, but the other perks are not visible to me so at the end of the day there is only 4 perks to my disposal yes.

You also failed at reading comprehension. He never said anything about 16 perks at YOUR disposal. He said 4 survivors which means 16 perks total a killer has to deal with. He was saying a survivor can sacrifice one of their 2nd or 3rd chance overpowered perks to bring Kindred. He mentioned DS, DH, BT, and maybe Unbreakable. I agree with that as a solo survivor. I play solo all the time. I've never played in a SWF. There's 0 reason to make Kindred basekit. Survivor players don't need to know where the killer is and what they are doing all the time.

  • @Killviver said:

There is one point in DBD where you start to realize how many people cheat and hack actually. I don't know if it got worse with introduction of MMR, but I guess so, since Cheaters will hardly not escape/let people escape and get high mmr easily.

While I was ued to see the blatant hacker in 1 in 100 matches I have now 1 in 25. But the much bigger problem are the subtle ones. I would say at least every second game there is one or even more.

Maybe you just realize when you see that some survivors seem to run through pudding, so slow they are moving, but actually find that they are the legit players, while the other are running their Bonus 5% speed hack.

Or you wonder for long time how pro some people have to be, always using DH in the right moment, but maybe you realize at some point, that they don't even look at you when they do this...3-4 times in a match, thanks to their gread auto-dh-hack.

Or you check a gen before you went to the other two where you find 3 survivors and then the one you checked suddenly pops, after maybe 40 seconds. And you will surely find no BNP in the after game.

Once you play with open eyes, once you start to see how bad it really is, it can't be unseen. The game is full of hacking loosers.

For killers I can't say much, I often wonder why I get a hit at a window with a fast vault. being a experienced player on both sides and taking much more my killer experience here, i can tell that I would never make such hits. You will think it is lag, but actually, why shouldn't be there less cheating killers as survivors? It isn't so obvious because killers are much faster than you, but I promise you, many are faster like they should be.

I have to say that I feel like an idiot ever blaming the balance in the game. Maybe the balance is great, tested on servers that are not pested with the hacking scum. How can I judge? I obviously only play the spoiled version of dbd.

In advance for the people. "I never saw a hacker" "Only saw one in thousand games". Either you are hacking yourself or you are just blind. Most of them are not stupidly or carelessly teleporting over the map, yelling I am hacking. I started my online career with red alert two. Map hacks(removing fog of war) where extremly common but you could spot it easily at least (the starting building were further apart than it would have been possible without a hack). I ask myself now why I ever expected that today are less people using hacking tools? Actually this was always the case for games with weak cheating protection software...

TLDR and conclusion: The question is: Are you going to fix your anti cheat engine or is it time to leave the game for the challenged who can't play without using hacks? Alone that I have to make videos to report because you (you behaviour) are uncappable to run meaningful logs. Maybe start to record games automatically for everyone?

Every cheap moba does it and I am going to claim that a moba is much more complex and costly on network than dbd. A video-replay function would help with thousand other problems, too....

Would give you some videos but I think then they would just shut the thread down because you will see the actual hacks there, so google it for yourself. There are dozens of vids where you can watch the "subtle" hackers. The state of the game is just disgusting

It's an epidemic now? Like the opioid "epidemic"? lol

I don't know what school you went to but my loadout is only made of 4 perks in solo q. I use kindred on all my loadouts and I still think it needs to be basekit.

You failed at math eh? Four survivors means 16 perks.

Yea it's called kindred and should be basekit.

    Definitely should not be basekit.
