When playing survivor and being camped, can there be one specific signal to show other SoloQ there is a camper nearby. Or rather, can we agree on an action. For example, do we do quick arm actions, or longer hook escape actions which don't actually escape but can be seen as a warning sign?
I feel these get muddled up, but perhaps by agreeing on a single action may help. I understand a lot of people aren't going to necessarily read this, but is there an action you prefer to use to warn others?
It's a perk called Kindred. Use it.

Both the forums and the subreddit always were quite killer sided, treating killers like the underdogs while survivors as the big bad villain, but recently this has been worst than ever.
These forums have mostly become an echo chamber for killers who want the game to be shaped around them.
Like yes, I understand that this game is survivor sided, meaning that if both sides try their hardest and play almost perfectly, the survivors will mostly win.
But that doesnt mean yall can just act as if people who play survivor are the scum of the earth.
And holy hell, if the devs really decide to follow the general consensus of the forums, all matches would be a 4K at 5 gens.
The way some of yall get so offended by somebody's virtual avatar crouches over and over again.
Even I have gotten quite stressed because of this game, but I have never, never, never put blame on the survivors or the devs, because, as you so often repeat, "They bought the game, they play how they want"
Recently, almost every post has a variation of "survivor easy and no stress, so survivor players are babies. Killer hard and have stress, so killer players are oppressed".
If killer is so hard, then go play survivor and try it out. If you say it's easy and stress free, there are three things that could make you say that. 1.Low MMR for the skills you have 2.You stress yourself when playing killer. 3. You're lying.
Many times, when you're having a stressful time playing a game, all you need to do is relax and remember, its just a game, and the results don't matter.
But it seems that too many of you have put hours into getting better, and feel you deserve results, and therefore if you dont get those results, you'll feel cheated, which causes you to stress.
Yes, sometimes the game really is unfair, or atleast feels very unfair. But most of this unfairness is created by your expectations.
Hell, for some time i had quit DBD when i had around 700 hours in the game. Because I thought I deserved to win almost every match. And that simply wasn't true.
I play around 70% killer and 30% survivor if it matters.
Alright, rant over
Don't act like scum and you won't be referred to as scum. The players are taking about the bad mannered ass dancing survivor players, not every survivor player. I do play survivor alot. About half and half. I play solo and I know solo survivor sucks. It's no fun. I think most of the issues are with the SWF groups that act like pieces of #########.

Yesterday Otzdarva made a stream when he tried to prove this point.
So he took every killer, he used really good perks and god tier addons and played.
He obliterated every lobby (most of the time, it was with 4 gens left). Of course sometimes survivors were'nt that strong, but still they at least played DS/DH.
As a killer main (95%/5% killer/survivor). I do not know what to think about ? Am I delusional to think that survivors have advantages over the killer ? But my POV is biaised by the fact I only played killer since I started plyaing (around 200h)
I would like to know what do you think about this ? Does it prove that the game is not survivor sided ? What is your POV on that ? Please also let know other people which role you main !
He used really good perks with "god" tier add-ons. Your words. Exactly what point are you trying to make?

Survivors I've played against have been particulalry obnoxious and toxic the last few days.
I see the same thing over and over again, a base game survivor with 1 to 2 perks unlocked who has amazing map knowledge and very competent looping.
They also play the highly obnoxious card with the Bm'ing and the flashlight clicking, also lots of noise/vault spamming.
It reeks of the old days when you'd get 3 reds and 1 grey trying to game the MMR to get newer killers just to be obnoxious and farm points of them.
These so called "bully" squads are often in your face and not focused on completing objectives at all.
I'm a casual player these days and my MMR has probably nose dived due to just playing chill and often letting everyone escape for the heck of it.
Sadly for these bully squads instead of getting a new killer they get me, who trolls them a lil first just to make sure it is what I suspect it is, then ######### destroys them because hey they aren't focusing on objectives.
They then meltdown like you wouldn't believe in endgame chat, the salt oh my god the salt.
Now even if you 4k these people it isn't fun to play with them and there seems to be a never ending army of them lately.
Making the basegame FTP just seems like another really foolish idea given just how pathetically toxic this game's player base can be.
I had a game Sunday night. I was The Pig and I was against 3 Claudette and 1 Meg. I should've known then and there to skip the lobby but I didn't. The survivors then proceeded to hide the ENTIRE match, on the swamp map, without completing a single generator. They never even bothered to repair one. Why? Ffs, why be so damn petty? That match took me forever to find and hook them. After a long time, I finally killed 3 of them off with the Meg sitting at the hatch doing the usual butt dance. Why taunt and gloat? They played like legit trolls and got massacred without a single gen ever being started. I'll never understand why people, especially in DbD, are so ######### petty and obnoxious. I do understand actually. Some people exist in life only to ######### annoy others.

Joined a random pug and we happened to all pick Mikela Reid because 3/4 already had her. We did not know eachother and weren't even an swf(not that it should matter). 2 Killers dodge lobby then third decides to go except he DCs during match loading. Now I have to wait in another 10 min queue while the killer gets no penalty at all for intentionally starting the match and dcing during loading. Yet I get a penalty if I dc the last hook because some killer double tunnel and camped the hook on me just to let them know how I feel about their gameplay. How does your system of fairness make any sense whatsoever? At the very least a disconnected load should give the people who didn't disconnect an instant queue.
Can't blame anyone playing killer for skipping that lobby. One CoH is bad enough. Four CoH? Fawgettaboutit.

You should play some survivor, not only would it make you a better killer to get experience from the survivor side you could check out the inventory and see that flashlights already do have a battery life - 8 seconds of use for yellow/green flashlights and 12 seconds for a purple. Also with a blind you are still able to move so you can break the pallet and start to move forward without losing much ground between you and the survivor.
Body blocking a hook isn't an exploit, it's an intended feature that is encouraged with survivors getting achievements for taking protection hits while a killer is carrying a survivor - there are also perks to help and survivors get BP. As killer you also have a handful of perks already to help with getting a survivor to a hook. Starstruck - while carrying a survivor any nearby survivors will be exposed. Iron Grasp - makes it to longer for a survivor to wiggle out of your grasp. Agitation - makes you move faster while carrying a survivor. Mad Grit - while carrying a survivor you don't have a cooldown on your swings. I'm probably forgetting a few but those are some.
Just chase the survivors out and get some free BP for hits. Or look around the map for any pallets or breakable walls you missed for extra BP. Walking around map while not in middle of game will also help you get to know the basic lay outs better which will also help you in chases/finding survivors in a match. Go afk and grab a drink, take bathroom break, play on your phone, whatever - sometimes if the survivors notice you're not coming to the door they'll make the mistake of going to look for you without enough time left on timer and you'll get a free sacrifice.
Nm. I misread.

He found out that if you have two survivors you can box a third survivor in for the killer to come and get them.
This has is uncommon of course but it can happen, I've also been stuck in the basement trying to get past a single survivor.
The devs really need to come up with a solution to this.
Like being able to push other survivors out of the way or being able to run past them or through them on a cooldown or something.
Unless dead hard lets you run through other players.
Record it and report it to the devs. Whoever is doing that will get banned. Easy.

Picked up the game on Epic when it was free and bought Trickster and Legion's DLCs because I like the way the look.
Having a blast as Trickster. Low queue times as a Killer mean I get plenty of practice with the ol' Barrage o' knives, but I've picked up a pattern in my gameplay.
I get a hook in, and immediately amble off to restock my knives, and by the time I turn around, my victim is being let off the hook and it's time to get my murder on again. They're practically right in front of me.
So, naturally. I give chase. If I have to make a choice, I'm going for the one that just got rescued from the hook because I know three hooks is an auto kill, but usually the easiest target gets run down and I walk them back to where they be... er... I mean, the hook..
This tends to repeat several times per match. Hook. Scan the area. Restock. Run down the poor survivor that decided to go for an unhook fiteen meters away from me. Often I'll get a smack in while they're in mid unhook animation.
Now, from my PoV, I'm just doing gameplay as intended. I'm not going to camp because every second I stare at my victim is another second survivors work on gens unperturbed, and neither me nor the Entity want that.
But survivors crucially *can't see* my PoV and I am forced to wonder if they think I'm just going tunnel vision on them or camping on the hook.
I mean, sometimes I *do* camp on the hook, but always for meta reasons, like all the gens are powered and if I can just secure this kill, you get to run off scot-free (curiously, Survivors never seem to take this offer.) Or I need one sacrifice to round out an Archive challenge.
Am Indo8ng something wrong here? How do I communicate "seriously, ya'all, I'm right here, unhooking your friend can wait until another couple of seconds have passed and I'm gone?"
You can be nice and not go for the one just off the hook. It's not their fault their teammate is a moron and unhooked them next to you. That's the way I think about it. Also, imo, camping is for noobs and there aren't many reasons to legitimately camp.

Well, you have missed the most important lesson in DBD: Just because something may seem bad/good in theory, doesnt mean it's bad/good in practice.
There are a lot of things that are both bad in theory and practice, while also being good in theory and practice. Grim Embrace falls under the bad in theory, good in practice.
So, lets create the scenario:
- a survivor MUST be on the hook for the power to activate, meaning at the most, you have 3 survivors being there.
- the average late game chase lasts 40 seconds. This means that in those 40 seconds, you can have 1 survivor unhooking and healing a teammate while you hook a second survivor, *for free*.
- its better than Corrupt Intervention, because it actively blocks generators that you need to patrol, while Corrupt Intervention blocks gens you might actually want to be gone(examples being the 2 side-gens in Groaning Storehouse, the corner gens in Haddonfield and the generators close to the killershack in Father Campbell's).
The only downside about Grim Embrace, is that it doesnt count DC's, but at that point, you dont really need Grim Embrace anyway.
Are there better perks? Sure, but there are plenty of builds that are only lethal to survivors with Grim Embrace in the equation.
It does depend a bit on the rest of your build, like every other perk in the game. But if you want 4 random hooks to trigger the effect, it needs to be a hex.
I didn't miss anything besides a long winded reply from a windbag that has to keep going on and on to stroke his ego. I've already said multiple times that, in MY opinion, Grim Embrace isn't worth running. By all means, you run it since you like it. I'm not replying any further. Does anyone on this forum understand the concept of agreeing to disagree?

You havent been using it properly then, by that logic Devour Hope isnt good untill you kill someone, even though the instadowning ability is gonna give you a ton of value. And that's a hex.
I don't use it. At all. I can read and comprehend just fine. It's not a good perk for what it requires. All I feel I need to say about the perk and this subject. We can agree to disagree.

4 hooks total would make it really easy to trigger tho. 4 first time hooks is fine. 40 seconds of not having to patrol any gens is really good.
You shouldnt focus on Grim Embrace to trigger, just like you shouldnt focus on hooking everyone once for 4 BBQ stacks or 4 No Way Out stacks. You basically let the game do it's thing, and when Grim Embrare triggers, it's gonna be very powerful.
Forcing a perk to work is always going to end up in bad effects. Forcing Grim Embrace early on is not gonna buy you much time. Having Grim Embrace activate when there is only 1-2 gens remaining, is actually really good. It doesnt need to be upped to 60 seconds, in the late game, that's often 2 chases worth of time. 40 seconds is 1 chase or 2 fast chases. If you're capable of hooking 2 survivors without any risk of losing a gen in the late game, you can easily win.
So yeah, 4 first hooks for a powerful effect. I've played 5 games in a row where my perks were effectively useless(No Way Out, NOED, Bloodwarden, Remember Me, got a 4k with 2 gens left because of addons instead). No Way Out didnt get it's 4th stack untill 1 survivor was already dead in both cases. If I had Grim Embrace instead, I would have won all those matches with 3 gens remaining.
I'm not the best killer, I'd still call myself a good killer, but I was also facing good survivors. They were in no way terrible. I just happened to have really good map pressure those games.
If I forced No Way Out to get it's 4th stack early on, I would have definitely lost.
Dont force effects to work when there is still time for them to work. You forcing Ruin too much will tend you to either losing the totem early on, or if you defend the totem much, survivors doing gens instead while 1 of them keeps you nearby your precious Ruin. Letting Ruin do it's job and not going out of your way to protect it is far more likely to benefit you over the course of 100 games.
The perk isn't that good though so 4 hooks seems reasonable to me.

Should be increased to “ the bare minimum ” 60 seconds basically a full minute, seeing as it’s a one-time use....

When they last put out stats (like over two years ago) they stated about half of all survs were in at least a two-man SWF. No doubt that number has increased with just how lovely it is in solo queue these days.
Also keep in mind the vast majority of the DBD playerbase is on one of the various consoles, where the role killer is played much less so there's an abundance of survs, plus party chat is built in and very simple to use.
SWF are here to stay, in the same queue as solos, and comms are here to stay too, as there's not much the devs can do at all to disrupt it either.
We need to work within those realities and frame our suggestions with them in mind, just as we need to keep the entire playerbase in mind too.
Makes sense but I don't consider an SWF a two man. Four for me. So, I'm not being too technical.

Not a very controversial post, but I dislike The Artist for a lot of reasons. Design wise I think she is a very good killer, her appearance is really nice to see and it is certainly creative. But gameplay and balancing wise, I highly dislike playing against her as a survivor. I dislike playing against pretty much every killer that strips away basic fundamentals from the game with ease. Those being Nurse and Artist for the most part now. I find Blight manageable, and I also find new Spirit manageable. I dislike The Artist for the same reasons everyone else does, but I came here to pose the question; are these killers healthy for Dead by Daylight? I am not just talking about the survivor side of the game, I am also posing this question for the killer side. The Artist to me does not take as nearly as much time to master as someone like Nurse or Blight, so it feels almost cheap to rank up with a killer who can take away so much from looping and survivability.
These kinds of killers, in my opinion, are not healthy for either sides of the game. Maybe I just have a nostalgia boner for traditional killers, but ranged killers are always something I find very unhealthy for the game. What do you all think though? There are always ways to adapt to The Artist, yes, that is not what I was stating in this post, I was simply stating that I think she is unhealthy for both sides of the game.
You enjoy using the word unhealthy. That’s unhealthy.

Difference between knowing what they are doing and being just plain evil in how they play. I’m fine with a team not being complete noobs. I’m not fine with map offerings, DH, DS, BT, and two flashlights. Add on the rude behavior, trolling, and hit validation. It’s too much.

Solo is not chill or fun most of the time. It’s chill if you consider hanging on a hook being camped or running while the killer chases you down for the third time. It’s chill if you consider teammates that have no clue what they’re doing or teabagging you while you’re on the hook. Most of these survivor is chill threads relate to SWF survivors, not solo.

Like, im sorry to ######### and moan. But I use to usually get at least 2 or 3, even 4 kills a game. But after all these boons came out, and everyone always using the same damn perks I can't keep up with it.
Whose idea was it to have a boom that gave everyone Unbreakable? I can't even slug if there's a boom out now cause oh they're back up and now I have to find the Totem and nope there goes another gen.
Honestly, I just had a game where I got my first down and two gens popped at once. I had just been there, they weren't close to done but when I leave for ten seconds they're all over them like flies.
I'm just getting sick of it. Like im being punished for wanting to play and have fun but I'm always stressed out when I'm the killer.
Playing survivor on the other hand, feels incredibly broken and boring. There's so many ways to heal up and get going again, places to hide right, so many pallets to stun the killer with and all I can think about is...
The Devs have given killers the biggest 'F' off in any game. Balanced? No, everything is sided for the Survivors now that it's not even remotely fair.
Like, how am I supposed to get rid of 4 boon totems, which the last game had, find them, protect my gens, and stop them all at once?
I'm not. I'm supposed to roll over play dead and let the SWF groups call me a #########, loser, tell me I suck all of that all the damn time.
I feel you as a killer player. However, your gripe is with SWF survivors, not solos. I’m always solo and it’s a nightmare. I get “tunneled” constantly. I get camped all the time. I usually get incompetent teammates. Killer and solo play needs something to make it better.

To what degree? Because I don't believe survivors have to use Dead Hard. BT? Maybe. DS? Sure. But Dead Hard isn't necessary. They use it to get the that 3rd chance and because of the hit validation problems.

I see so many people leaving killer and I can see why, the role is much more stressful than survivor, but where did people get this idea that it shouldn't be?
In any game that is 1v4 or etc., the role that is by themselves will obviously be more stressful because you are your whole team. I really don't know where this idea of killer needing to be super easy win mode came from, the game has always been rough for killers and right now, killer has much less to worry about than they used to.
I get complaining about survivors being strong but here is something I always think about. If the 4 survivors are using their 4 strongest perks, and you as killer are not also using your 4 strongest perks, why is it a shock when you lose? If you aren't putting yourself at the same level perk-wise, why do you beat yourself up when you lose? They have an advantage over you and losing is definitely more in your favor.
This isn't bad though, that is how games work. What I don't understand is why this is complained about so hard. I do believe killer needs some basekit buffs, but acting like killer's get steamrolled super hard every game just isn't true. If all you care about is winning as killer, 4k etc, then it is super possible. You can play scummy, you can throw on the best perks, you can throw on the best killer, and use map offerings all you want, just like they can do. All is fair and part of the game.
It isn't fun to me to do that lol and if it isn't fun for you and you want to use stuff you like, then do it. Play and have fun, don't care about winning or getting a 4k, a 2k is perfectly fine. If you aren't playing hard to win like they are, don't be upset when you lose, be happy when you can beat them despite the advantage. If you only want to win, then you most certainly can, I promise that.
Shouldn't have to use the same 4 meta perks on every killer to stand a chance. That's the problem. That kills immersion and diversity and makes the game bland.

Can we please revert Spirit nerfs so I can go against a different killer?
I swear to god this game has no more than 5 killers because I have been playing for a weak and I can count in 1 hand the number of killers I go against.
Please buff low tier killers.
Give legion a mori on first hook.
I don't know.
This is what happens when survivors have been given so many buffs and the killers have two or three that can somewhat compete. It's sad. I don't care how many times I get 0 kills. I'm never gonna force myself to play a certain killer. Perk stacking must be limited. No more 3 or 4 Dead Hards and such in a single game. It's ridiculous.

You are a special kind of immature if your go-to response to being punished is "Well, I'm not really being punished because I rock multiple accounts."
What, are you 12? Do you want a cookie for circumventing the game's DC penalty? We're still going to leave you slugged.
Honestly, you're the one that's coming off as immature.

I've never done it because I was downed or caught first. I've done it because I've been on the hook watching teammates do absolutely nothing. Or farm me without bt or taking aggro
Same here. Some games are just lost. Being hard headed and stubborn won't make them suddenly winnable.
