People think Devs are bad at their job because most of them are entiteled. No matter what they do and how hard they buff a certain role, its never enough.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1656370#Comment_1656370
We are in the middle of that process right now, similar stuff like map changes or insta heal nerfs have been already done. Most of that list will be changed sooner or later, but it would be madness to change that all at once.
Also those changes might sound good on paper, but in reality they would break the game if not executed carefully.
Well michaels rework is supposedly around the corner so i guess then we will see how much they listen. All 3 of otzs suggestions make sense especially the fact for a mode michael doesnt button press he has to keep the bar right at the edge.

Ghostface is a character you play for fun not to win i slap on the classic ghostface outfit and just play him to unwind.

Nerfing Maps? And Swf? And Ds?
Totally not a entiteld Killer main xD
How about no?
I agree with the Killer nerfs. But Not with the Myers Buff.
He also said nerfing moris killer sided maps and addons that are overly powerful like iri huntress and tombstone myers. And freddy ignoring stuff like bt allowing for tunneling for free. Next time dont strawman and watch the whole thing if your not gonna your not worth my time. Thank you.

Your joking right? Id go and post a entire essay on the problems but otz already did a video on it i suggest you give it a watch.

1 killer always guarantees the possibilities of Pop.

@supersonic853 I personally don't think that's needed, to cancel the whole match for that happening - as I could see it getting abused by groups that play together, load in, map they don't like, killer they don't like etc...one of them would just DC so that the whole match gets cancelled. I don't really think that's an ideal scenario for DbD.
Yeah I guess overwatch and rainbow also punish it by hitting the whole team with the penalty if its a party and you lose a crap ton of sr so the dcs are pretty punished. But is it really fair if its a 2man swf rn and they dont like their facing a freddy so they insta dc and now the other 2 just get murdered and lose their stuff? Which is honestly the fairer option the match gets canceled and noone loses anything but the dcer and their group. Or the survivors now are down 1-2 people against a killer which you have no idea what their running? I wouldnt want to face a forever freddy with 1 other person and lose my purple medkit because the 2man bailed.
-
@Mandy said:
What also sometimes happens, someone has DC'd during loading but that information is not getting to the server in time to prevent the game from starting - so you can load into a map, play for 30seconds (for example) then the match ends once the Server recognises that the player did not load in.
Also, if someone DC's during the game - that does not end the game, even if they DC the instant they load in. It's only when a player hasn't loaded in that it ends the game.
Could Do in dbd what overwatch and i think rainbow do. If theres a dc in the first minute the match gets canceled and the dcer gets a harsh punishment. (Then just refund everyones stuff except the dcer).

Lag switching is why hit validation is now live... so now can we remove stretched?

I think a temporary fix for DS would be to just make Enduring effect DS until the devs finally revisit the perk
It used to but they felt it hard countered it to much and made headon completly useless. (Was kinda the point of the perk though and now its only used with spirit fury) another perk that coincidentally countered ds but doesnt anymore was unnerving yet that got "fixed" to.

That is his power, not the real hook. I don't say camping is fun but it's definitely smart to do it in some situations, if survivors rush the hook, swarm it, etc... We can't just punish killers like that, they already de-pip and lose BP
I mean in that situation wouldnt it help the killer since they could just force the hook to another location. last ditch effort.
-
@Maperson said:
Camping isn't bannnable, you can punish the killer with rushing the gens and making him de-pip
Ph they prevented camping by moving the cage when ph gets to close and the fact the cage goes as far away as possible. So when you hook a survivor the entity could pull them into the ground and have the hook appear as far away as possible.

Pyramid is doing ok with them. When they look at you from the cage and give away their aura, their own perk brings about their death. I love it. Theres always someone that will farm them just as you make your way over there too so no need to worry about the cage disappearing.
I can see that getting changed though because “its not fair to OoO users” 🙄
I love ghostface against them the only problem is it shouldnt light up in my opinion.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194520/tinkerer-spirit
For the record- Spirit's base power is still 170% movement speed across the map so you can use the Undying/Ruin combo to pressure people off gens even without tinkerer's. Combine with pink Mother/Daughter ring addon for 246% movement speed and Yakuyoke Amulet for 8.5s Phase Walks at now 231% (Still faster than Billy and Blight - HA). The Amulet also has a hidden unintended side-effect of reducing the cooldown from 15 seconds to 10.5 seconds (Devs have noted it but haven't fixed it yet to my knowledge).
Just run Stridor with good headphones so you can hear healthy survivors breathing and listening for every single tell possible and shut down the entire map (Heck you don't even need Undying/Ruin - but it's a nail in that coffin). Spirit is top tier for a reason - people who get all torn up about the standing still mind game really underplay her ability to have 100% pinpoint detection after getting near you with BBQ/Whispers whether you are injured or not. Most also don't run into Spirits with 300~500+ Spirit games using Stridor and fall to just normal potato spirits
If they ever fix the sound bugs because i was chasing a injured survivor with stridor spirit and they were completly silent.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
Surveillance works better with her power since you sometimes want to have a TR so they can't hear the woosh. It's also a lot more useful for her when your totems are gone.
If you are going to use Tinkerer also use Prayer Beads so that survivors get used to the sound of the woosh all the time and ignore it.
PS. To answer your questions, the husk will get Tinkerer, but you will still make a woosh. There is no hiding that sound. That means they always hear the woosh if in range, because there is no TR to override the sound.

Let me approach this a different way; so you think it is OK for killers to have intense slow-down perks (punishing survivors) with oppressive loadouts but a survivor can't have an anti-momentum perk that can even be countered by chasing someone else?
In My scenario i chased and downed 2 people! And no they shouldnt because the devs already said their looking at fixing all slowdown perks. Without slowdown a single ds could cost 3 gens by itself.
-
@skarsguts said:
Otz is just saying that an obsession doesn't allow you to tunnel. People actually like this guy? Wow.
Hes saying a obsession even being in the game forces you to slow your momentum because you can hook 2 survivors and still get stunned by a ds which then makes you lose up to 40 seconds of time (even longer if the survivors a god looper) another anti momentum perk was MoM which was horrible. Also hes one of the better players.
-
@Sluzzy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1645255#Comment_1645255
The counter-argument: the killer should use his brains and not try to pickup someone that recently got unhooked.
I haven't seen your suggestions but every one I see has a million deactivation conditions, which is unfair. It just makes a niche perk even weaker. They could re-buff it to where it used to be so killers can appreciate it the way it is now. If it was truly decisive then it would be a 1-time use at any time, not on a timer like it is now.
If I hook 2 other people and find the guy on a gen i didnt tunnel and i shouldnt be punished for doing well. Old mom did this and it was HORRIBLE.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:

Dont worry if they get up down them again, your only timer is their dying state bar.
#unlimitedslugging
Oh Then what do they have? A perk called soul guard which is another second chance perk? Damn these survivors have everything.

@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1645214#Comment_1645214
So you think that every time you down people too quickly means the killer actually playing “optimal”?
Camping a survivor and forcing others to trade is not playing optimal, it is taking advantage of a built in mechanic which forces survivors to make risky plays. Plays which would not be able to do, would those perks not exist.
I mean their whole argument would make more sense if DS was strictly an anti tunnel perk which it isn’t. The punishment is you didn’t play around the perk. Much like when you get camped and actually tunneled because of no obsession in the match.
Hmmm To play around ds i slug right. What do survivors have? Oh yeah its a perk called unbreakable isnt it? Also they can just jump in a locker.
-
Honestly id be fine if it activated every unhook as long as its 30 seconds it doesnt go down in chase and it deactivates when a survivor does a objective. 30 seconds is still good for being pretty invulnerable since thats almost half a gen not counting if they use it to get to a loop. It should punish tunnelers not people with high momentum.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Yeah because the alternative is that when there is no obsession killers feel more free to tunnel/camp and that is an issue in itself.
DS should create some type of choice for killers who would otherwise take advantage of both of those two built in mechanics.
They Are both saying ds should actually prevent actual tunneling and not punish someone for downing people quickly. I could go on a hook spree and get hit by ds after hooking 2 others. I didnt tunnel but i got hit. What they are suggesting is make it true anti tunnel and not some ######### you to your Momentum perk because old mettle of man did that and it was stupid.
-
Dont forget at 10:55 he discredits the people who say its anti momentum because peanits quote was about old ds new ds the other devs say is about anti tunnel or else it wouldnt require a unhook.
-

Multiple downsides actually,
1- Makes you the obsession, which can be detrimental to yourself if the killer is running Rancor or Remember me.
2- Requires you to be unhooked to even get use out of it.
3- You need to hit a difficult skill check
4- You can be slugged
1:being the obsession forces to killer to slow their momentum for the fear of any ds.
2:like that wont happen.
3:anyone above rank 10 i hope can hit ds because i havent missed one in forever.
4: unbreakable.
-
@Customapple0 said:
Nice to see there’s a huge uprising against DS because Pop got a slight nerf.
Comparing DS and PGTW is like comparing apples to oranges....
Yeah ds is way worse because no downsides literally. Except being once which theres 4 survivors.
-
Also one ds a survivor gets 23 seconds of distance which if they are decent at looping for a fair estimate could add another 30 seconds and thats just after 1 add another like 10 seconds to hook and itd probably take another 10 to head to another gen. 3 gens just popped from 1 ds. Also like he said "3 seperate devs said the new ds was submitted as a anti tunneling perk" when peanits made his famous quote was the old ds which just stunned you no matter what IT WAS A ANTI MOMENTUM not this new one.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
For me there is one key difference.
I NEVER WANT TO USE DS WHEN I HAVE IT. As a killer, I want to use Pop whenever I can. The killers is also technically in control of when both perks are used as the killer has to A) Hook someone, B) Down the survivor again and C) Pick them up.
Well scott does kinda go into something like that to pop forces the killer to stop their momentum to kick a gen which could be on the other side of the map even with the 60 seconds right now. Ds kinda survivors can do what they want for 60 seconds hop on a gen get healed unhook another survivor ect.

No. No where did I say you can do nothing and ruin will still work. The killer has to do very little however to get value that is extremely rewarding. Especially when paired with undying. Ruin does apply pressure for the killer. If not, killer has to stop and kick every gen. Ruin carries you in that aspect, making it a crutch.
Dont forget these are HEXS which can get cleansed a minute into the game. Hell i lost undying in 5 seconds once because they spawned on it.

This dude despite being a douche about it actually offered nice advice for people that never played against SC before. The main complaint is that the alleged counterplay is goofy, dumb and way too punishing considering the survivor has to literally do nothing to profit immensely from the perk. This holds especially true for the stalking Killers since one of their main strengths, the element of suprise, can easily be negated by having it equipped.
In over 2 years I haven´t had a single Killer get the jump on me when I had it on.
Btw I managed to get my adept Myers at rank 4 back then. It´s a tough one, I recommend double stalk speed addons or J. Myers Memorial + Hairbow. Might take you quite a number of tries, maybe don´t do it in red ranks. You´ll get it eventually, SC or not.
What he doesnt get is the purpose of michael and ghostface are to punish the survivor for not paying attention. Sure i can adapt and just chase them and get stalk that way but the original purpose is to watch from the background and get free stalk when they arent paying attention. After i look at them with spine chill theyll start looking around see me and run away. Its kinda like a handhold for something they should know by now.

Yeah, lots of ways you have to adjust your playstyle to counter a killer power or a perk from either side is bloody annoying. That does not mean they are too strong or need to be changed.
and michael and gf where I HAVE to look at them for my power? what then?

@MadLordJack said:
People see it game after game after game. Even Soul Guard hasn't been alleviating the pressure: you don't need to slug to win if the totems are hidden and teammates are being morons.
However, while I do think that it needs tweaking in the Ruin department (the reason the nerf was a nerf was because the totem usually went super quick without the chance to work, now it's likely it'll last the whole trial), I don't think that it is as bad as some people say it is. If survivors just did bones, which I know sounds extremely hypocritical coming from me but Undying isn't NOED and shouldn't be treated as such, then the problem would be alleviated.
I think that the biggest issue is that it's a solo-killer combo. SWF can still rock up with all the meta perks they want and just co-ordinate, solo's are forced to run anti-totem perks that eat into their builds. And I'm not talking about micro-pp solo's running DS/UB/SG/DH, I'm talking about EVERYONE.
I mean at least you dont need to face 4 people with the same build. Also one could be the totem hunter just using detectives hunch. Killers have to play through 4 dh ds bt and probably unbreakable. And undying could get hit right away then ruin right after those perks are guaranteed.
-
Yeah noones gonna use this i see most used the hatch one (shouldnt even exist anyway since hatch is supposed to be rng) on key games. This one has no real use.

So solo survivor will always lose If they have Bad Rng? Sounds fair right? And don't say anything about survivor Because Camping, tunneling Killers are the reason why this perks are geting played in the first pleace.
So get gud and Stop youse unfair perks, Camping or tunneling
Im guessing you always complain about noed to because "oh i shouldnt get instantdowned because i couldn't do all the bones by the end of the game!" Educated guess.

@indieeden7 said:
The undetectable status effect was implemented solely due to the fact that object of obsession completely countered stealth killers. With the update that introduced this change, Spine Chill was actually buffed to work against Scratched Mirror Myers. This buff alone tells us that the devs most likely aren't going to change Spine Chill and frankly, I'm happy about that. With so many players complaining about having to play against DS, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, SB, etc. why would the devs make perks that aren't used as much weaker? If anything they should make more perks like Spine Chill so that the META can actually be shaken up a bit, something that countless players have been asking for for years.
The only problem lies when they make killers based on getting value by punishing the survivors for not paying attention "michael and ghostface punish survivors for not paying attention to their surroundings with instadowns". Put this perk in they book it before i can get barely any stalk as either of them. How do i punish them for not paying attention when they have a perk that does it for them?
-
Theres 5 totems in a match and you dont even really have to hit undying if you cleanse ruin after all the dulls are gone it doesnt transfer. Or you could end up cleansing undying then ruin which again it doesnt transfer. Ds unbreakable the killer cant do anything for 60 seconds especially with lockers. And dh is always used to extend chases not avoid a hit werent gonna make that pallet? Press e to outplay. We've dealt with that since 2016 and that build has no rng unlike killers. So get good and do bones.

A Bug is a Bug, even if it is a weak Perk which is bugged.
Jeez how long was survelliance "bugged" for then... *bigthink* either way its really a case of the description then. If it only applys to opening the locker so why does it effect huntress reload speed? She has a addon for reloading the hatchets at a locker. (Im waiting for that to happen btw with this bugfix change)
-
@Boss said:
Seems weird to not have that stay, yeah.
Only thing i can think of is that "opening" is something different than "opening, grabbing and putting on shoulder".
Which i find quite the nitpick, it's not like the Perk's amazing anyway.
I mean under that logic guess it shouldnt increase hatchet reload since your grabbing hatchet off wall and putting it on belt so meh.

Already one of the perks which is rarely used then they do "bugfixes" that removes even more power from the perks.

The number of times that would be relevant is pretty slim and would likely be slimmer if people kept that in mind and unhooked away from the Exit Gates.
I mean ds soulguard unbreakable is probably pretty meta still so survivors would want this change to just deliverance off get slugged unbreakable get smacked and then just bail.
