It causes 8% regression to gens and makes them start regressing within 32m and disables you from kicking them so it really doesn't pair with PGTW.
If you ask me it's an overrated perk and I don't often get value out of it.
-
One of the dumbest killer changes threads I've seen by far.
Trapper
Buff 1 - Useless, traps spawn in obvious spots
Buff 2 - Is this a rank 20 buff or something? The only situation I can think of using this if someone dead hards through your trap and you must follow, and dead harding through traps is a broken mechanism anyways and should be gone.
Nerf - lmao playing trapper without sacks is murder
The Shape
Buff 1 - Stalking movement speed in all tiers becomes 100% when looking at a survivor and stays 115% when not.
Buff 2 - Tier 1 gains slightly increased lunge and minor movement speed increase.
Nerf - T3 vault speed gone
Are you being serious? Who even cares about stalking movement speed or T1 lunge, if you wanna do scratched myers run the boyfriend memo.
I could go on and on but most of these changes seem ridiculous. I can't imagine a 110% plague or a demo already slower than he is in shred mode.

Alright so user that goes by Deanwinchester showed me a video where supernatural is brought up to Mathieu Cote and his reaction. When asked when supernatural is coming to the game, Cote didn't say anything but had this reaction
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TOQ2NACHCQZY/draft147947467.jpg
Now I know this could mean absolutely nothing, but a little speculation won't hurt. In my opinion, it looks like he's hiding somehting. Like he's signed a non-disclosure agreement, and he can't say yes or no to the statement of supernatural coming to dbd. Like I said, it's probably nothing, however I REALLY hope it's a sign. What do you guys think?
Sam and Dean hunt and kill demons. I doubt they'd be afraid from what the game has to offer.
But Cheryl Mason killed a god and she somehow runs from an obese man throwing gas bombs so what do you know.
-
I can give you the percentages if that's what you're looking for. I'm assuming you wanna combine either bleach or ether 15% with the exhaustion.
Base Hindered on clown: 15%
Hindered effect with bleach: 20%
Base intoxicated duration: 2 seconds
Intoxicated duration with ether 15% vol: 3 seconds
So its either 15% slowdown for 3 seconds or 20% slowdown for 2 seconds. If I were you I'd go with the bleach. Throw one on the DS and reload, pick up eat the DS, then SPAMMMMMMM every second or so.

No. It's kind of dumb, but could lead to some stupid combos if they could (Like Ruin + Dead Man's Switch forcing a regress for up to 45 seconds). It's probably best that they can't.
Yes such combos are what give Perks like DMS value in the first place. I don't see a point in just "Blocking" the gens you can just wait out the blocking then finish it instantly

Yeah that sounds really simple and shouldn't be too difficult to implement.
I think the devs should start working on improving the game mechanics, enhancing the experience for new players, fixing matchmaking and bugs before they can move on to releasing new content.

OoO (Object of Obsession) and Mindbreaker
OoO is just an awful game breaking perk and will shred you in a SWF.
Mindbreaker is utter useless perk on the other hand, and I see lots of new demos using it which often discourages them as they never see its purpose.
Mindbreaker basically makes you exhausted WHILE repairing gens, this effect persists for 1/2/3 seconds once you get off the gen.......

I use,

- Whispers
I don't really like Infectious on him, he can't really down people to quickly but I might try it and maybe I'll change my mind. But I usually run IF on Killer with one hit dows abilities or Killer who have insane snowball potential like Nurse with a normal Terror Radius.
that's 2 early game perks and 2 aggressive perks, there's no gen delay. Pop is a life savior a lot of times.
@Lansen_is_Here said:
Use Corrupt, STBFL and Infectious is not viable combo vs. Swf's, perks like that and BBQ and whispers are not going to cover his weaknesses
PGTW
Corrupt Intervention
Enduring
Monitor
If you know how to time his shred effectively you wont be needing enduring since you'll be shredding those pallets most of the time or getting a hit, or at best both.
Monitor synergises with infectious more than corrupt but corrupt is still solid, and PGTW still needs a tracking perk.

Listen, I may not be a demo main, but I don't think infectious would work well with him. Demo doesn't have good snowball at all, but if you want to run it, run it. Corrupt is absolutely amazing on demo, as it gives you time to set up some portals.
He does with STBFL
@[Deleted User] said:
Both !
If you need to chose: Corrupt, by far
Since I dont have them, I use the following build:
- BBQ - Mandatory
- Discordance - Helps with me pressure and knowing where most survivors are
- PGTW - Mandatory, this or Ruin
- Enduring - Personal Preference
I use Rat Liver + Rat Tail for addons... Don't need any other addons, can replace Rat Tail with Iron Lung
I'm personally on a 20 match, 4k killstreak as Demo at rank 1
but If i were to give you a BIS Demo Build... This, by far:
- BBQ
- STBFL - If you don't like STBFL it can be another flex perk of your choice instead
- Corrupt
- PGTW / Ruin
Sounds great, you nailed the addons too
@Nebula said:
Infectious is very nice on Demo as it allows you to play more aggressive, and gives you a bunch of info.
I personally use both in my build: BBQ, Infectious, STBFL, and Corrupt
Corrupt is very nice on demo as it allows you to get your portals placed around the map without immediately giving up 1 to 2 gens.
There's no mid-game gen delay here but this is super aggressive it might just account for it. I might try running both

If "they" are happy with the current state of something, they won't make any more changes to that something. I can't remember who said it but when asked about the ruin change they said that they were happy with the changing "after looking at the data". Someone might vaguely remember the comment.
This is mainly how BHVR is making their balancing decisions. So if the data says Billy is doing fine in this ptb they're probably going to be released to live with minor, if any, changes.
The funny thing is, like with ruin they'll look at hillbilly pick rates, see they've decreased tremendously and say "We're pretty happy with what we've achieved."
But that's not because "made him balanced", no not at all. It's cause you made him unplayable.
-
I main killer but I'm red rank in both sides. I played survivor yesterday
A plague had 2 people downed and only me alive near the exit gate, she went to pick up the first one and I blinded her not even in the pickup while she was walking, i was confused.
I did the same with the other survivor, i don't think she knew blinds make you drop the survivor.
3 of us escaped, in the chat it was a rank 16. we were all red and purple ranks. Post-match chat comes
Plague: Too good
Plague :I thought I won
I've never felt so bad in my entire life.
-
I think this clip explains what I mean in terms of devs having their own "unique" prospective
https://youtu.be/7QW6_qIooyU?t=300Someone asks "When's clown getting changes?"
The dev says "After playing him I think he's very underrated and his power is very well-hidden"
I'm just speechless.

@IMilkNobody_108 said:
do the devs want variety? yes but do they want killers to be good? no
This is why no one plays around with perks cause if you do you lose and also why play m1 killers there is just no point in having variety in killers or perks cause if you do you get gen rushed and have no map mobility unless the survivors are 4Heads. Plz devs use the ptb more buff the ######### out of stuff on ptb killer and survivor to change the meta cause its just so ######### boring. Up survivor had ds and you get hit with it even though you dont get tunnelled. Like whats the point of playing anyone other than oni, freddy, nurse, spirit, billy(if they revert the changes but they won cause devs are clueless)
If we're talking in general, I think it's because the devs make most changes dependant on the mediocre players, people who fall in the green ranks or so. And also solo queue, because that's just what most of the playerbase is.
Aaaand the imbalance comes in red ranks and SWF as a consequence.
As for the last billy update, it was a mistake, period. A lot of addons are plain ridiculous even his 2 ultra rares. (Speed limiter my chainsaw for an injure through a pallet? I'm 5% faster when a flashlight shines on me?) and he was simple and fine in the red ranks.
They said it'd be minor changes but these are nowhere near minor.
People are continiously using the excuse "hahaha infinite saw billy is fine right?" but what in god's name am I benfiting from if I mindlessly keep chainsawing? I'm throwing the game away, not making it harder for the survivors. But some people would just use the same excuse to make the game go a bit easier for them.

Teabagging: Scummy behaviour
Bodyblocking: As in sandbagging bodyblocking, it IS reportable

A pip is a point that counts towards your ranking progression.
For every 4 or 5 Pips you earn in a game you proceed to your next rank.
Pips are based on your performance in a match, and rely on the emblem system.
Losing a pip means you lost. No pips means its pretty much a draw (also referred to as black pip), 1 pip means you won, 2 pips means you were really good in the match and covered all aspects of surviving (escaped (survival), helped out teammates (altruism), worked gens/gates (Objective), and got chased and/or did totems (Boldness) )
-
half your threads are b8
-
The devs have mentioned several times comms in SWF is not cheating by any means.
Then why not enhance QoL in solo queue and make some sort of communication between survivors?
Quick chat messages to prevent wasting time like "I'm going for the rescue!" or "Focus on the generators!" or "The killer is near me!" (Like in identity V, a game they supported)
Maybe more Emotes? Something to indicate heal me, or something to indicate spread out.

Thank you for this @Hoodied it explains things very well.
The Devs do know their own game, they know their game very well indeed. And yes, Billy will now require that little bit more skill to effectively manage his power - I personally don't see that as a bad thing at all. He's still going to be very strong and there's still going to be counterplay to him.

The forum has its fair share of toxicity from both sides.
NOED is fine. (Do the bones)
BT is fine. (Don't stay near the hooked surv and/or target the unhooker)
Other than the locker invincibility, DS is fine.
Keys & Ebony moris aren't at all. (You must be horrible if you lose while bringing an Ebony Mori, literally only need to hook a total of 4 times instead of 12) (Keys are a free escape past 3 gens done, which can be done by the time a killer is done with his first chase chase)

As a killer main, I'm really not upset about how "weak" it made him, he's really still good and i admit it is a minor change.
I'm just sad regarding how the devs are doing random nerfs to viable killers to stop their overuse to make it easier for survivors who don't take their time to learn to counter them (mostly the newer ones) but the way it goes is different in the red ranks.
Billy can be spinned up close and if you can juke him you'll waste a good amount of time, his instadown would mostly get you if you're in a bad position but thats the same with bubba.
It was the same with old ruin too, if you honestly took 40 seconds of your time to run around the map and find the totem it wouldn't be a concern, but newer players just either what a hex perk is or were unfamiliar with totem spots.
As for the actual nerfs It only removed curving around loops, which required a ton of skill and was satisfying to see by double engraving billies hit off them sick flicks, this sadly won't be possible anymore. (because of the amount of revving involved, the thread below demonstrates)
@slim0b said:
They didn't remove curving from his base-kit, they just made it impossible in loops. Let me show you what I mean
Below are multiple demonstrations/highlights of curving in loops, what do you notice?
https://youtu.be/AueGkVXMlGc?t=5
https://youtu.be/VxbLxLZJS5E?t=17
Yes, all of them involve revving, tons of revving so you can get that curve timing exactly right and capitalize on distance gain through backrevving and mindgames.
You can already tell it will be impossible to pull off anything shown above with the overheat, but oh well, more "skill ceiling" now as if those curves didn't take any skill.
Again it's not a HUGE change, it was just pointless.
If they wanted to prevent camping they could have implemented the mechanic within 8m of a hook.
If they wanna prevent his intense mobility well the update didn't even do much since the heating is soooo little when you're sprinting.
If you won't take it from me, go ask a streamer who plays more survivor that killer. Noob3, Monto, yerv and send me a clip of any of them supporting the nerf. (Not ussylis pls he's the upcoming ochido)
TL;DR: We're not sad because of the nerf's effect on his power, we're a bit sad that BHVR is just doing nerfs to viable killers to prevent their overuse since potato survivors struggle a lot with them.
It's just that he isn't the right killer to be targeted for a change, I really wouldn't have minded a spirit nerf because its honestly sometimes a guessing game, and if she's running stridor and 3d audio you're pretty much in the shit.
-
Hag is balanced for the love of god, she's 110% and if you keep running over her traps while she's picking up a survivor she has to reset ALL of them.
She's one of the killers which require a lot of set-up, so if you don't bring corrupt you're bound to lose a gen or two during that preparation phase.
Not to mention the traps can be destroyed with flashlights.....

But to be fair they often nerf survivors permanently while fixing killer bugs
hue hue hue
bear in mind a 2 perk swf can still demolish a red rank killer.
It's the issue of lack of communication in solo queue, that's why lots of valuable time is wasted in things like 2+ survivors going to rescue same time, 2+ survivors planning to take a protection hit, 2+ survivors same exit gate....
If some form of communication was implemented in solo queue the game should be a little more balanced.

Deathslinger is fine, comparing huntress to him while only talking about snowball is quite dumb since Deathslinger's advantage over her is that he can get shots far more often then huntress can, in places where her wind up just doesn't give her enough time to land a hit.
By that comparison current Leatherface is better then billy because he can down all 4 survivors faster then billy can. Just shows that Tru3 doesn't always look at the whole picture and just focuses on points that support his claims. Not saying that he's isn't right in the snowball scenario but he doesn't take into account other advantages that deathslinger has over huntress.
whether he can get shots or not depends on how good the huntress is, I'm talking from a rank 1 killer prospective, the point is a god huntress will definitely be far better than a god deathslinger.

Just play killer if you're down to farm BP, you'll practically control the bloodpoint flow of everyone in the game.
Try and get max hooks on everyone and I promise you you'll get a ton of BP even if you end up with 1k, and again the more hook states you give them the longer the good survivors stay in the game, hence they get more BP.
As for the cocky survivors tbagging and clicky clacking their flashlights you can get him out of the game quick and make them practically get 6k BP and they miss out on a chance of 400% more BP.

You should notice the insane amount of revving involved to pull off skillful curves shown in the videos.
His changes didn't up his skill ceiling, they did the opposite. Removed another aspect which involves skill in billy. You'll NEVER see any of these curves again, at least not without his "reduces overheating rate" addons, but by then you'll have to swap out one of your engravings, oh well.

@NuclearBurrito said:
Ok so watching the video I estimate a typical flick takes about 6 seconds of reving first give or take about 2 seconds.
Watching the video the devs provided, I estimate you have about 12 seconds of reving before you overheat.
What this means is that if you chainsaw dash over to a Survivor and they immediately enter a loop, you will not be able to do a chainsaw flick without overheating, since you would have already used a big portion of your overheat bar simply getting to the Survivor in the first place. And completely forget about trying to snowball, since if you flick to down a Survivor you DEFINITELY won't be able to go after a 2nd one.
This post has successfully changed by mind about the severity of the nerf. I can no longer support this in any real capacity. (whereas before I just wanted a compensation buff)
I'm glad I was able to do just that, also thanks for putting in the maths.
-
Also note that curving at loops is now impossible due to the amount of backrevving involved until distance is gained (causing an overheat 90% of the time in the process)
-

Yes and by the time you're done waiting for that perfect moment your chainsaw will already be overheated and you'll have to wait 18 seconds this time before using it again.

Everyone already knows the current state of dedicated servers, so how much increasing the tick rate to 60 has yet to be seen, for one.
Second, this game was designed around P2P and giving the killer hit priority, therefore giving the servers priority will mean that if the killer has a slightly higher ping to the servers than the survivors on it, a lot of hits that should probably realistically hit may not hit. No one is going to be happy if you swing and your swing just gets eaten by air or something.
So, I'll call it a good thing if it works well and there really isn't any drastic differences between slightly higher pings between survivors and killers
A double tickrate is a massive difference you can watch a CS:GO vid on it for comparision cause that's the closest thing I can give you.
As for the hit validation, I just hope it works as intended (revoke BS hits for like 200+ ping) rather than completely negate hits because of tiny 20ping differences or so.

Im a billy main and the changes really dont seem that bad
It's just that they're unnecessary, and not what the community was asking for.
I know the billy nerf wasn't the best idea, but try to look at the bright side of the update, much more viable perks, better hit registration, LF finally buffed.
The PTB will show the balance state of the changes, in time.
-
From my POV it was just unnecessary considering how balanced he is. Cooldowns are an inconvenience especially for a killer who has to use his chainsaw to win loops, to get his lethality, and to get his mobility.
-
New franklins is a viable perk*
Seriously, would you rather have your dumb flashlight dropped from your hand while having the choice to pick it back up in a duration or have your pallet stuns be basically ineffective (enduring). Or have to your gen highlighted to the killer whenever someone joins in the action (discordance).
They just made the perk somewhat effective, get over it and stop whining until the ptb comes.
