Touch a totem/chest/gen for a split second. There you go i guess.
Doing them for a split second does not help, All tho suppose you could do chests and totems in areas you know he isn't patrolling may help until you run out (like a dull totem in corner of map)

I agree with you, If a Jason is playing chase he will go for you and I find him enjoyable to verse honestly but alot are playing OE spam hold the prime zone Jason which is no fun
I agree with @cogsturning that the most comparble to Jason OE is Henery Undergate or dracs bats
I dont find it comparble to most of the killers you mention bar wraith just as a traversal comparison but Jason could be leaving you when he goes into OE, or he could be baiting you to go back to gen so he can hit you in prime area, he could be going to go get someone else, but the surviours have no way of being able to tell until he decides to leave OE (grass IK is one but i dont count it because its a small number of maps got enough grass)
The surviours dont get to make choices based on ques, they have to guess what Jason is gonna do when hes using OE which i dont fine enjoyable every other Killer in game has some sort of ques.
Edit : Replying to @Gamedozer7 did on mobile and quote seems to of not worked. -

If your getting crow's that's on you. The easiest counter play to jason is not giving him a chase but that's also the worse counter play because your playing right into his hands. You can chose who where and when the chase happens as a survivor.
Stop hiding and pick a good spot and take chase and learn the real counters to Jason there's alot of spots he can't hit at.
BTW his haste does need to be cut down to 3-5 seconds
Stop hiding and pick a good spot and take chase and learn the real counters to Jason there's alot of spots he can't hit atRaised the issue in previous comment but good Jason players simply wont chase if you are not exactly around where they want you. You cant force someone to chase you when you cant see or hear them nearby but they can see you just fine...unless you are crouching to avoid red mist.
At least with other killers you can see them leaving you for other gens. Jason surviours get no tracking.

but wraith can literally be right on you. jason is a bit more limited and if there is grass around its a hint and if i think hes on me the second i hear the very start of the notification prior to the actual notification im on the move and youll be farther away than wraith would be on a smart uncloak especially as wraith can literally body block you
The Key diffrence tho is Wraith has Visual and audio ques while cloaked.
Take nostromo for example. I can see wraith coming from pretty far away on most gens, if im paying attention to surroundings, he even has subtle audio ques if he is coming around the corner.
Jason dont have that, he can be tracking you and you have no Idea if hes acutally nearby or somewhere else. That at least my issue with it the zero tracking it gives to surviours for how much he can use it.

Surely nobody is crouching enough in a Jason match to actually be getting crows?
You don't crouch all the time, you only crouch if you need to avoid him finding you at that moment. If you're in a solid position and the gen you're doing isn't as important comparatively, you wouldn't even bother letting go of that gen at all, just let him see you.
I think some people have got it in their heads the only way to counter Jason is to make sure he never sees you at all, but that's not really how it works. You CAN make sure he doesn't see you, IF you need the heat to be on someone else (injured on death hook, doing an important central gen, etc).
I've gotten crows before once in a Jason match, and saw a thread with another member also complain about getting crows with Jason before event.
My point in post is Jason can drag out the game using OE, survivors should be able to do that same to him with crouching / trying to bait in away from gens rather then basically being forced into areas he wants while you have no visual or audio ques that he is nearby. Its not that you have to crouch, its that you are FORCED to be seen, weather that is by you working on his prime gens or totems giving him red mist or getting crows because you are crouching/ trying to bait him away from his prime area.I understand other killers can do this but every other killers has visual or audio ques that they are nearby, (used wraith as example in previous comment) Jason does not while using OE, If he had any visual or audio que as he was moving around in OE (other then map specific stuff like grass) OR a longer cooldown on being able to use OE again would not be a issue. (or even not being able to see you do objectives as a previous comment mentioned)
Even if we compare to other killers who are good at holding prime areas, the survivors are still able to track their location though visuals or audio that they are nearby. -

You are a liar. You got killed on purpose which is why you got penalized. I have NEVER had this accidental "tunneled too fast" situation happen where a false penalty occured, and I have had my enormous share of games where I was tunneled out first. Stop being a rage quitter, or enjoy sitting in your time-out chair where the children belong.
It can happen so long as the match is under 2 mins long.
It can happen I've gone down to nurse before, basically farmed off hooks both stages and got a warning no penalties , 30 seconds later everyone gets the abandon condition from being down and leaves the game with no penalty.
It may be harder to prox I agree with you their, but its def not impossible, especially if someone is struggling with looping / gameplay of a certain killer or like in my pervious example team is farming you off hook against a strong tunneling killer both of which I personally think should not be punished. -

Killers were upset people didn't want to play vs camp + tunnel + 4 slowdowns every game so BHVR put in a detection system that punishes you if it suspects you died too fast.
You should be thankful, they were going to make it give you a DC penalty. You do get a DC penalty if the game thinks you are doing it again after a derank.
@Topic to mitigate this issue not popping us as much, being left on hook until second stage should remove the go next penalty as you physically where left on hook. -

In the end you can do gens while he is in his power. He will eventually come out and chase one of you guys. So why waste the time not sitting on the gen. I for example have stopped caring if he is in his power when I am on a gen. The gen progress is way more imporant that hiding from him. Just keep track of the spots he can appear from and if the map has grass and it moves just start moving away of any possible spot for him to appear from. Play the enviroment against him but hiding when doing a gen is pointless as he will either come out to check the gen anyway or you will just waste time sitting in a corner waiting him to comeout.
I have said it would be good to him not see anyone doing objectives but have to wait what the changes are going to be.
I would accept that counter play to be honest if he could not see objectives like you said, but would also add no deputy badge so if he wants to pressure a gen he is forced to leave OE.
ill be aggressive and not just crouch, But a good Jason is not going to chase you or come out of OE anywhere near you until you are near the area they want to come out of OE in, they know that if you not near the prime gens no point in coming out of OE to chase you. so my logic is if Jason can just sit in OE forever, survivors SHOULD be able to do the same with crouching, why is one side allowed to stall the game but other side gets AFK crows if they do .@dangersmymidd1ename said:

Jason is just too strong for these situations - I had a match on Coldwind, the last generators were on opposite sides of the map and he just slugged my teammate and went continually back and forth to the generators and the slug. Due to the 3 second delay in the survivors' crouch counterplay, I was eventually found after he dragged the match on for an extra 10 mins (having dribbled the teammate to prevent bleedout). There has to be a balance so that you can still make some progress and are not just forced to give up.
Deputy's Badge also makes this situation worse as he can continually regress the generators without having to leave super-speed invisible mode.
This sorta situations is eactactly why AFK crows need to be removed if they don't wanna change jason.
match that made me post was drawn out for ages because Jason refused to do hatch play, he would rather bleed my team mate out till last second
Any other Killer you have visual or audio ques that they are nearby, (eg wraith you can see cloaked and hear suitable noise ques even before he starts to uncloak). Jason only has one map specific visual que. -

regarding bug abuse part, I fully believe nobody gets banned for bug abuse. (I don't think they should either should be up to devs to fix, or ya know use kill switch)
I remember when the bug few years ago where flashlights could let you be invincible in lockers against most killers, I don't remember seeing anyone banned for that even tho that also falls into holding hostage, If you played that weekend someone would be doing every game they would of had to ban so many players. -
Server side checks are needed yesterday, this can also lead to lag switching abuse because of the ways it gives advantage to bad ping and its impossible to report those situations.

once again ruin is the problem here, and guess what ruin is a bigger problem on other killers too. Its almost like we shouldn’t be nerfing killers when busted perk combos are the problem.
Ftp + buckle up was a problem and it was killed.
So should ruin + thrill
I don't think the hexes are the issues, ruin and thrill have been in game as is for awhile now, Why was this not a common build before Jason and why is it only every Jason player using it at the moment?Even when I do see it on other killers the hexes are not that big of a deal and get cleaned or ignored, that is not the case for Jason when he is spamming OE because as I said in previous comment, their is no visual or audio ques, survivors are unable to track until he decides to come out of OE.

then he’s not in power and people can do gens? Maybe you should ponder it a little harder.
If everyone is crouch teching jasons power, jason isn’t chasing/downing/hooking anyone. Neither jason nor the survivors are progressing the game, that is what we call a stalemate.
If jason isn’t in power, survivors will hear him like any other killer. So what exactly is the problem?
People can do gens and totems for 12 seconds before he leaves chase with the person that took the chase because they are leaving the prime area, Ruin regresses all progress, progress on totems lost unless you stay on it in which case he will know you are their he will chase you for the 12 seconds before returning to OE making sure nobody is touching any of his prime objects with no way to tell how he is pathing around. its not a stalemate its Jason slowly and slowly grinding to a win by OE spamming.
Other killers can utilize thrill builds, but no other killers has this issue as they all have visual or audio ques that they are nearby (wraith, Spirt, Drac bat from, henry underground mode) or have set spawn points if they do not have normal pathing (dredge, spring trap onryo)
Trap killers who I think are more commonly associated with thrill builds can also be heard and traps can be disabled, causing them to have to set up again (singu, Trapper, Hag) -

Seeing how ######### this event is leads me to believe that they're not thinking about anything right now.
Oh no I can think of one thing they think about.
-
i don't really get anything out of the event just because of unemployed and kids who used to stack cakes from previous years like crazyThat gives you more BP too, not just them even for the older cakes it just a few % points difference.
And to be fair they did give out 15 million BP for free, I don't like cake density either but 5 million on Killer gave me 120 cakes. -
If you click the yellow home it will still work but its just the categories tab so I use that as work around.
I made a post back in March in Off topic section -
This is the one effect in the event I can agree its really cheesy have said since the start, even tho I think a lot of outrage over event is overblow this effect is really cheesy.
I did a solo q match where I would 99% tables and just wait their with the food until person in chase got hit then I would slap it on the table for full heal then go fill the second table.
All tho that does have the effect that matches are longer because only two doing gens so slower gens, in example match the looper was good so he ended up just taking chase for most of the game as he got multiple heals in chase. Killer was over that bs in egc understandably -
Next min event portals a beta rework for shadow step like halloween shards where beta fog vial 😅

The grass literally moves beneath his feet. His jumpscare ain't instant and you can hear pretty well a cue that comes from where has he appeared if he's close enough. He is far more limited so as to where can he appear at, with deadzones forcing him to appear quite far away.
The grass is only a counter on a select few maps, most maps it is easy enough to path around grass or there is not grass at all. (the trapper issue)
So outside of that he can move around inside OE until he decides to come out of power (eg survivors interacting with 3 gen or totems) vs wraith you can see him coming/ patrolling and have small little audio mumbles as hes moving around cloaked nearby. The bell ringing I think is most comparable to the jumpscare notification for Jason. -

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/469246/jason-s-omnipresent-power
Omnipresent evil is worse wraith cloak, and yet noone proposes limiting wraith's cloaked state with a time requirement.
If survivors decide to not do anything while Jason is in that state, it's on them. It's their choice. Touching a gen guarantees a chase with all killers in most cases, I don't get why Jason should be different in that regard.
Wraith is not invisible and uses normal pathing logic when cloaked. Jason can appear at loops (and even potential loops) with no visual of audio que that he is nearby (both of which wraith have)
they are not comparable hence why nobody with wanting to limit wraiths power. Also Wraith is a M1 killer and does not have a spear as part of kit. -
I'm of the strong belief killer bots need to added before something like this is implemented.
The game simply ends when the killer leaves no matter what the survivors may be doing. If their was killer bots when killers dced would have much less of a issue with it even if they can only m1 they just need the stop the trail from ending. -
I do like the sound of like a token system as you made in previous comments, Not a thing you can manually apply but if you are genuinely getting the exact same killer multiple times in row should be able to get variety rather then getting the same killer over and over (I would make it outside of like the first week of a new release so it does not hurt new releases)
Like I feel like a system like this would be rare to prox. because you have to see the same killer over and over, last time I saw that was with ghoul pre nerf I don't even get more then 2 Jason's back to back. And if you are just versing top tiers (EG jason, nurse, blight, jason, Nurse) it would not prox because you have had another killer between
Edit : would also add It should not be visible and work like the realm repeat prevention but after like the third time getting the same killer in a row, getting another killer should reset tokens to 0 as should dcs. -

Also stupid. My point is not "killer good survivor bad" my point is these events are a terrible arms race of BS effects that only keep going up. Okay cool, survivors get all these interesting powers and killers don't. What is the next "killer sided" event going to look like? I am willing to bet money its not just the old effects and will be even more obnoxious and annoying the previous year. BHVR has an awful tracck record of just power creeping over the previous events and pushing it to live with 0 consideration which then absolute bombs the queue times after people on the "losing side" just grind out the quests/rewards. That's my real beef with this.
Yeah honestly wish we got a little PTB for major events that way people are able to give some feedback before it goes to live.

There is a huge difference between "remote hook", "remote pallet break" and auto-win the chase "invuln, invis, heals at random times". The equiv would be if a killer event had a "press Q while looking at a survivor in your line of sight to teleport them right into your face and melee range".
What about Haunted by daylight Insta downs with haunts? (not my clip used as reference) My point in thread is one side always get more of a benefit in event. this one just swayed to the survivors side.
Follow me on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/jave_huntHaunted by Daylight is the most broken event we have ever had in Dead By Daylight! And now I will explain... -
@NeverSolus said:
With all due respect, and I don't want to see this turning into a KVS issue either, I feel you're being a bit unfair. I do think this event is more or less balanced for killer if you play a high tier M1 that can abuse throwing poison. That being said -
The survivors get unbreakable pallets, portals, invisibility, DH, sprint burst on eating, and more - all temporary buffs, of course. That being said the killer can poison food (Don't do that, killers, just throw it) or throw it at objects/survivors to slow them dramatically for a free hit. This is, insofar as I'm concerned, balanced gameplay wise if ripe for abuse from ill-intented SWF's trying to clip farm. And there are a great deal of bullysquads in the event clip farming out killers being blocked behind unbreakable pallets, invisibility trolled, etc.
But gameplay wise, it is fair enough I think.
The problem here that you are decrying and I feel being unfair on, is how much fun and diversity there is to the event for killers. There isn't much. I recognize there isn't much for survivor either, but there is a much more generous scope of interaction diversity and possibilities for the survivors. For the killers there is just the poison, which is very strong yes, but it's not exactly engaging gameplay.
I don't think anyone is, or rather at least I and the people I play with aren't, concerned about who gets the better benefits. That will pan out with the queue times. It's more about who gets the fun factor.
TL-DR ;
It's more or less balanced, but there's just no 'fun factor' for killers. That's what I think a lot of killers are complaining about. The 10th Anniversary isn't some random event like blood moon or chaos shuffle, it's the 10th year anniversary. People expected fun, they looked forward to being excited. Instead, they got the black banquet, massively curbed cake drops, and underwhelming cosmetics.
It's just alot for some folk. It's more or less balanced, but there's just no 'fun factor' for killers. That's what I think a lot of killers are complaining about. Instead, they got the black banquet, massively curbed cake drops, and underwhelming cosmetics.I can completely understand this sentiment, but its the same thing survivors had to endure during the previous anniversy meanwhile I've seen people saying this is proof BHVR only listens to one side when I think that is false. Like we can say one side feels unfun, without saying "why do the survivors get all this benefits"
I just want people too look at events as a whole and realize this is how they tend to go, it just tends to be the shoe on the other foot. -
I don't like how we have two events that lean to the survivor side and now suddenly Its a problem.
Twisted Masquerade a lot of survivors did not enjoy for the same reason but reverse Killer gets cool stuff while survivors get basically junk. But we get it multiple years in a row.
All tho I don't think these following events where bad or a massively imbalance, I would just like to include to show that they are not forgetting about killers in events.
Bone Chill 2025 - all tho I love the snowballs survivors that's really all they got and they could freeze pallets witch has minimal use on survivors expect for pallets like shack. Meanwhile the Killer could cover a gen in snow, and even freeze pallets causing some loops to just become free hits. Snowmen also provided more use to the killer then it did survivors.
Haunted By Daylight 2025 - beta fog vials Surviours could use as fog vials or passive gen progess. what did killer get? They can spit out a haunt that injury's you causing some caseses where the survivors could be two tapped basically.
Sorry it has swayed into the Survivors side for this event, But history of events shows this is not the norm.
Edit : would also like to add killers get a new "toy" every Killer release with a whole new power and kit, Survivor perks lately have been wildly mid. -

Actually basically every Killer main myself included wanted BHVR to remove the pallet break because it made chase unfun. But we also wanted them to maybe remove Party Pallets from being able to save since that was really obnoxious with even a 2 player combo.
There were some Killers who said things like this but honestly mostly everyone knew that it was a problem. I think the main thing though as well is that at least both sides got powers to play with, even if the Killer one was just objectively better. In this event Killers have basically nothing to do other than poison carts every once in a while.I'm glad some folks thought It should be toned down, but especially last year saw a lot of defending the event because you don't have to que into it.
I just think when a lot of players are going "its a event mode you don't have to play" like I saw last year, devs may look at that and be like "alright so the community is fine with unbalanced events because they can just play the normal mode" -
Was gifted the game years ago because someone wanted me to play it with them 😅
I played for few years until Skull Merchant came out then I honestly played 50/50 mobile and pc. they where behind pc release so it was kind of like playing old version of dbd, they had stuff like old Haddonfield map, Old version of moris, but with QoL the main game is still missing (like pre made messages you can send to team)
Then they shut down DBD mobile so moved back to just playing the main game. -

Go back to threads about last year aniversy and its people being like "just don't play it its a event mode" Moment it switches to being more survivor sided "WAH the devs are always catering to the survivor side while ignoring the killer role, how could the devs do this" while as survivors where told last year " just don't play the event"
You mean to tell me they made a unbalanced anniversary like they have last few years? Shocking
Only difference is its not the killer role benefiting. -

for a 10 year anniversary celebration where we meant to be celebrating survivors & KILLERS it just appears that what killers got was thrown in at last minute because there was so much attention on survivor end
Devs i know it is very unlikely you can make changes to this event as it is out now but if you ever do this event again next year then please give more thought to the killer community and make the event actually for survivors & killers
I will say aswell for any killer players who see this post avoid this event just take the queue times and play normal that how strong i feel about this event that it is an avoid
To be fair killers where the most focused on in the last anniversy so its not surprising its swinigng in the other direction for once.

While it is a different configuration it still is a potential pallet spawn with the addition of props beside it.
That's what I'm thinking its just using same logic as every other map for scrap spawns. If it a bug every other map is also bugged then.

This is a bug some reason there is quite many odd things going on with Trickster's Illusion. It can be even game breaking for Jason as he can get stuck on the stall in the market because of those wrongly spawned pallet scrabs. Its been reported and its currently Under Investigation so most likely fixed in the next patch hopefully.
Its not just on tricksters map. he gets these pallet scrap on places where pallets CAN spawn not where they DO spawn on many maps. (ive seen on red forest and temple of purgation where I know for certain no pallets have been dropped) so you end up having pallet scrap where there was no pallet that match leading to places with heaps of spawn locations
I feel like tricksters map is just working by same logic If it is a bug tho its not just that one map. -

agree here no reason why we cannot have this.

I think ones you mentioned are best but If we getting more deep with it
Shoulder the Burden can help with more BP if you are confident in chase, Gives another hook state to someone else so you can potentially get the BP from another unhook that would not of otherwise been their plus the heal at unhook.
Tambourine Perk from Vee, more skill checks for the chance to get greats and the bp that comes from it (all tho gen catrigoriy tends to be easiest to fill) -
