its because certain maps are weighted for no reason and there weighting just went up.
They where able to weight Hawkins when stranger things first come out then reduce it back down, why cant they change the maps that are least in rotation if they cant remove the system -

Every game is a gen rush. Its super boring. Gen speeds are insanely fast right now.
Its because survivors need to gen rush to have a chance against decent killer players.
They need to gen rush because if they are not rushing the gens they are just all going to die when they get a decent killer or at least that how it feels from the survivor perspective.
Is it certain gen builds that seem to be the problem too you or just the base gen speeds out of curiosity? -
Yes we need better map offerings back because the map weighting is so bad BHVR created a problem that was not a issue but now is.
Remove map weighting and make it truly random or give us back stronger map offerings so players can decided not to go on drakova deepwood for the 50th time -
I know people recently have been upset about Nancy's face model due to likeness but what other ones are bad?
I cant think of any Survivors that looks straight up bad outside of cosmetics they have.
As for being "attractive" everyone has different tastes in what they find attractive, but there more recent DLC are conventionally attractive IMO (Vee, Sable, Orela) which is not bad but I just don't see the argument that survivors are unattractive to a point it needs to be redesigned. -
Imma main her when she comes out, hope she has good cosmetics ! 😍

Yup the only thing it leads to is people lobby dodging, I think its really outdated the killer can go into peoples profiles before the match even starts. Has led me to play on anon for awhile now as when I did play with profile open longest I've waited for a match due to killer lobby dodging was 30 mins
Killers should only see the survivors they are versing, not usernames (eg vee, claud,) until after the game.
For Survivors it should be perks, who they are playing and I would be ok with team seeing my username as they are my team not my opponent -
My top 3 killers to verse
Billy - Main Killer I enjoy playing when I play killer role so assume thats why
Chucky/ Tiffany - I love there voice lines and stun animations are fun, size of killer is something that is just really fun too.
Spirit - The counter to her power is what I enjoy, when you are healthy easier to just walk away and throw off a spirt vs injured you need to pay attention to phase sound directions and play loops based on phase sounds.
Honorable mentions
Bubba and demo ❤️ -

The issue that is plaguing you is this: weighted maps.
For some.... inexplicable reason, certain realms are boosted, which imo should not be a thing outside of events.
Butmap offerings need some help, I agree with that.
This 100%
I've been feeling the slog of the same maps over and over recently come to find same maps have been boosted since august 😫Dvarka Deepwoods is huge offender as both of the maps in the realm get to be boosted.

It seems like my post was ignored; apparently it’s not considered a real issue. But I’m bringing it up again because this needs to be addressed.
Gen-speed perk combos, given the current state of maps full of pallets (there are roughly 20 per map, and most of them are strong without even needing mindgames), mean there’s no real need anymore for perks that help in chase.
The meta perks are now Resilience, DH, DS, and Deja Vu—to extend chases with triple and quadruple second-chance perks and a 15% gen-speed boost while injured.
So during a single chase where you throw 5–6 pallets, 3 gens fly. Then you spend time finding another survivor, start another chase, and the match is already over. GG ez.
Can we get something moving here, dear developers? The meta perks are now Resilience, DH, DS, and Deja Vu—to extend chases with triple and quadruple second-chance perks and a 15% gen-speed boost while injured.Dead hard has been massively nerfed to what it used to be, Deceive strike only works if you are tunneling the person off hook.
What perks are you referring too when you say "quadruple second chance perks" is it just Dead hard and Deceive strike?(there are roughly 20 per map, and most of them are strong without even needing mindgames), mean there’s no real need anymore for perks that help in chase. What maps or loops are you referring too in this statement
Its not all the maps and loops, Hawkins just had its pallets decreased and a lot of maps have shorter loops variants then what they used to be prior and during pallet density update.
In short, survivors need to rush gens because when they get a high mobility killer that is half decent at the game.
I would recommend trying perks such as deadlock if you are having issues with 3 gens popping at once, corrupts can also help if they are doing gens to fast because then you can have 4 total blocked 3 with corrupt and one with deadlock, corrupt can also spawn on all the deja vu gens which can counter it for start of game with luck. -
Yeah that's one of the only things I don't like about new killer is how long the worldbreaker lasts even if you do clocks
I would be fine with power being spamable if the clocks took his power away more then it currently does, since he can just get it back as soon as its over then at least one survivor have to waste time doing clocks again aka they are not on gens so I don't see why there is such a long guaranteed power stage even when clocks are being done.
maybe its for players who are not as good as getting power hits? because good The Firsts I've versed has no problem basically keeping the game in worldbreaker for the majority of the match. -

those maps have been boosted for like 5 months now. even the devs acknowledged it on a community stream back in october and stated they were gonna rework the map/realm repeat prevention to make it so all 5 players queue up for a map they all haven’t played in a while. ultimately there hasn’t been a word since then from the devs so it seems we’ll be stuck with this boosted rotation for the foreseeable future.
Oo i didn't know it was acknowledged, thanks for the info!

Yeah as survivor its pointless using the doors honestly outside of niche scenarios
( eg. Going cross map to save someone about to go to second or death where running would not of made it)
Its also dangerous for survivors to use the doors because they risk the killer going back into the door at the same time, giving killer free hook.
In regards to the camera aspect Its just not that useful, It reveals the aura for a short time but they have to be looked at in the camera and there are may times I've tried to use and there is just no Line of sight to even reaval the aura through the cameras so its more useful for the surviours to do gens.
If there was a door blocking mechanic I think survivors would interact with doors way more as they would be useful (eg door locks for short period, killer can see its locked but only locked till runs out of "battery" like in first FNAF) -
When I first heard DnD was dropping I was really hoping for a non human race

In regards to maps feeling awful its map weighting of all of the indoor maps bar RPD , new killer more easily countered in outdoor maps where you have more space to duke, indoor maps he does not feel as fun to verse but I blame map weighting for weighting all the indoor maps bar RPD.
I've been bringing McMillan bone just to get away from indoor maps because it sucks.

Hi guys, I hope all of are doing well
I was playing survivor yesterday with my friends, and one of the matches were against a kaneki, and ok, nobody wants to play with the new vecna and I don't mind kaneki so much, but this match was really awkward because, every time he was vaulting right after me on pallets, I was insta dying, every single time, I wasn't trying to vault back, I was just going around the loop normaly.
I thought I was just bad at the game, but afterwards I played some kaneki matches to test this, and I was getting the same hits that my kaneki was hitting me on that match, and I was confused, I have a clip of me playing kaneki to give you guys a example.
As you can see, Renato didn't tried to jump back over me, he was just running from me, and suddenly he just dies, like, he instantly dies without any explanation, and this is not something rare, its very common.
I'm afraid once people realize this exploit, people are going to abuse this like crazy and the hate for kaneki is just going to increase, he is already a not very cool killer to go against to some people, and people will think this is a intentional mechanic of his and hate him way more.
I hope BHVR don't waste time on this and killswitch ASAP.

I agree, there's no reason for this. I find myself beginning to dread playing on maps that I once loved because I see them every day.
I feel this I loved Toba landing but I feel like its one of the only outdoor maps I'm getting which is making me hate it. I have resorted to brining map offering to out weigh toba 😂

Well that's besides the point I'm trying to make it's faster then the ptb was and were wondering if it's intended or not.
If you thinks it's fine even while it's faster that's fine too
Oh sorry, I meant I don't notice a speed difference compared too PTB but if it is faster and I'm not noticing it I'm not having any issues with it.

So I've been playing all day today and I've noticed compared from his PTB version Vecna undergate attack seems to come out faster in his live version then his PTB version.
Does anyone else notice this?
I personally have not had any issues when facing the underground attack and the speed compared to PTB.
-
In regards to The First and versing them I do like versing him and he is definitely one of the more fun new releases but his power (vine attack not underground one) can feel extremely spammy from the survivors perspective.
I think a way this could be helped is increasing the timeframe survivors are allowed to react and avoid the main power since The First can just attempt to use his power again if he misses anyways.
Or if numbers with the power don't want to be tweaked make listening to the tapes take more time away from being in the upside down world (or wherever we are lore wise)
I overall find him fun to verse and see only minor tweaks needed for make more fun for the other side -
Thank you so much for Ghoul adjustments in the patch notes, I'm hoping they make the killer feel better to verse from there current state of most unfun killer to verse in the game ❤️

@Junylar said:
Getting stunned/blinded 5 times should be enough, as it only happens when the killer is being actively bullied, should be fair considering the freedom of abandon survivors have.
Exit gates being powered should also be a valid reason, as the game is basically over for the killer, but the survivor still will drag it on for 2 more minutes of teabagging, it's literally the mirror situation of survivor's "free DC if slugged". They say they value players' time, but in reality they only value survivors' time, as only they got the abandon while killers in the same situation still have to either wait for 2 minutes or eat the DC penalty.
These abandon ideas are not if the killer is getting bullied, they are for if the killer is being abused by hacker.
I don't think abandons should be normalized in regular matches for killer until there is a killer bot but making situations where they can abandon from a hacker I find fair. there is no killer bot so its harder to give killer abandon during normal gameplay without ruining a lot of matches. -

Let me know who they are.
Honestly doubt that someone would stop playing just because of Ghoul. This killer is nowhere near as bad as past, present, and probably future blight, release krasue, or first legion, which is why the devs arent nerfing him.
Me, I genuinely had to stop playing between ghoul and Springtrap releases because of how unfun ghoul is to verse and how he was basically every second match for months.

Play ghoul at high mmr and you wont be calling for nerfs. Cooldown after pallet break was the laziest change ever and made him boring now. Learn how to play against a killer before crying to BHVR for nerfs to a killer we paid money for
How do we know when we get to "high mmr" since it is a hidden metric, is it just until we loose a match?
Also the logic of I paid for it therefore it should never be nerfed is silly
I paid for Mikala so bring back old COH by the logic I paid for it.
I paid for Gabriel So bring back v1 made for this.
I also paid for Laurie so give me v1 DS.
Everyone that paid for V1 legion they should give it back to them if they paid for it. -
I really feel for Killers affect by blatant hackers.
At least with blatant Killer hackers I've experience in recent times is the double swing and jumping over pallets, downing someone hooking them tping to next survivor and the one where everyone gets killed as you are loading in. you die quickly
Killers are legit getting held hostageI've seen people make the survivor they are picking up get stuck mid way and both the survivor (non hacker) and killer are both just stuck leaving two people to do gens
Another common one I've seen is the killer gets stuck in a pallet stun / locker stun, when I see this they either dc or take tons of stuns and slowly get out by wiggling backwards
I've been in a match once where only me and hacker left and they where legit blocking both the exit gates without being there so me and killer could not open them to end the game, I tried to let killer hook me so we could try to end that way and he could not hook me
one clip I saw not personally but online was absurd was a hacker just opening and closing the exit gate and trapping the killer in there like why are the gates even able to be closed again after they are open. -
I have hope the older lady will win as see seems very popular even outside forms (fb post by dead by daylight about Gilmore comments mostly want anyone other then the young chick)

Given how common and severe arachnophobia is it's probably not a good idea, and would also not make financial sense. I'm not even that badly phobic but a realistic giant spider in the game would be very offputting to say the least. I know people with emetophobia basically can't play against Plague for that kind of reason. And before someone says 'bUt It'S a HoRrOr GaMe!!1' that's not a good reason to arbitrarily make the game suck for people with accessibility issues.
Some people have Coulrophobia but the clown is still in the game
Some people have Emetophobia but plague can still puke
some people have cynophobia but houndmaster has a dog and drac can go into wolf form
some people have hemophobia but we still have blood in the game
some people have homophobia but david is still in the game. /s
how far do we want to go removing stuff from the game or not adding it due to fears majority of people don't have. -
I really would be happy with either The grey Hair Lady or Red Hair man, older man would also be dope! I think they all look different from other survivor's we have which I love !

I do miss the other badham preschools
-
For me personally as a survivor a win for me if the majority of team mates get out even If I get sacrificed.
I like to play Altruistic especially when its comes to end game, ill try to save someone on hook even if others have left in end game (outside of insta downs ofc) and don't mind dying if someone else survives or if I've distracted the killer enough to help the other be able to escape.
In terms of what should be considered a win for MMR purposes needs to be way more nuanced then it is currently,
For survivors escape should be a factor but it should take into account chase time in the match as well as time spent on gen repairs if they are pumping them out.
For killers same thing, Kills should be a factor but it should also take into consideration hook states count and how quickly the match ended (eg was there 5 gens left or was it end game with no ed) -

I wonder if this is moreso a mechanic some Survivor players aren't aware of. Do you feel like it's intentional that players are hiding in the anti-camp area?
One thing that could help Newer players or players that are not aware of the system is to have a HUD icon or color change to your Hud that tells you if you are in the range where the meter will go slower as well as something explaining the mechanic as others have said
Imo if players had this information they would be less likely to sandbag like OP has happening. -
I would like to know why they have been excluded too as I've been tracking my matches and haven't seen them at all.
No miter is understandable but it is a big double standard if the logic is anti slugging is unfun for killer, so are plenty of killer perks that are still in but only one killer perk is banned?
I really hope other comment are right that its leftover from basekit anti slug testing but conviction is allowed and that would not explain nurses calling being out. -

thats the issue, they dont get hit with the deranking or get penalties. i 100% know this. killer has 3 options, kill them so they go next, slug them to not encourage the go next mentality or ignore them and dont chase them which means they end up trolling the rest of the players or gens get done for free. its a no win situation for the killer.
[[ I DO NOT CONDONE GOING NEXT, DO NOT REPLICATE, only did for testing purposes months ago when I saw people saying its still disabled. ]]
But they do get hit with it because I've tested it as survivor and when you slug them or don't let them go next it lets them circumvent the penalties stacking.
First or Second time - you get a warning that stays in your mailbox for like a month
Second or Third time- you get a derank that pops up and go down grades (for me it was for iri 1 too iri 4)
Third or Fourth time - 5 min matchmaking penalty (assuming it goes up after this but stop testing once I saw penalty was not disabled)
I am unsure how long it remembers the matches if its time based or matched based or tied with dc penalties as I only was testing to see if there was a penalty.
If you slug them you are just allowing them to circumvent the system vs killing them fast if they are trying to go next so the penalties start to stack,

It's almost impossible to play a full match of Killer in Dead by Daylight anymore since Survivors have been granted the ability to disconnect if they've been downed twice.
It is genuinely awful and kills my desire to want to keep playing, because Survivors are taking advantage of it to use it like a free disconnect button.
No matter what I do, Survivors will quit over the slightest inconvenience. Anytime I play a Killer they don't like or something doesn't go the way they want it to, they run up to me and force me to down them until they're out of the game.
If I ignore them, they'll either do gens unless I kill them (and they won't put up a chase, griefing the game for their teammates) or just body block me in chases against players who actually want to play the game until I am forced to down the player who's body blocking me (griefing me).
If they do this twice, they get to disconnect for free!
I try not to reward this behavior by not hooking them when this happens, but since the new Abandon scenario was introduced, downing Survivors that are intentionally griefing the game allows them to force me to either get them out of the game as fast as possible, or if I try to ignore them then they are rewarded by being allowed to disconnect with no penalty.
The Downed-Twice-Abandon-Scenario either needs to be modified in some way to prevent intentional abuse, or this kind of behavior needs to be reportable and temp-bannable. It is genuinely so difficult to play a regular match anymore.
Survivors cant abuse it unless you are just slugging them and allow them to get picked up to try to force them to stay in the match.
If they are genuinely trying to go next you should just kill them asap and if they do it often they will be hit with deranking then matchmaking penalties because of the go next prevention. When you slug them to force them into the match it avoids that penalty system and gives them a free out because you wont hook them. -
Sorry but wanted clarification if possible
We have AFK crows that give you no collision when you gain 3 crows, so the survivor that is body blocked could wait till they get three crows too "prevent" the situation from continuing without help from anyone else. There was a patch note that says "preventing the killer from holding Survivors hostage" but they can still be banned when there is a system preventing it?
@Mandy said:
To be very clear here, if the Killer was holding a Survivor (body blocking), so that the Survivor is not able to participate in the game, and EGC had not started - this is against the game rules and if reported with evidence, can and would result in a ban. It is irrespective of whether the other survivors are able to complete the generators, that survivor is being held hostage in the match and unable to do anything to prevent the situation.

The longer I think about it the more unsure I am about it, so maybe someone can quote a dev on the matter.
What happened:
Game where killer didn't play. We just did the gens and then went to escape and go for next. Or at least so we all thought, but in cases like this I always cleanse all 5 totems, because I did encounter people doing cheeky stuff with surprise noed and then boast "Typical survivor main, dumb enough to not counter the easiest to counter perk which was nerfed multiple times already" - so yeah, I always cleanse these to shut them up.
When final gen popped it turned out that Wraith was bodyblocking the Obsession, killed them with Rancor and then cloaked and left us be to leave the game for free.
I am not going to comment about why or is it fun for everyone - that's not the point and I don't care.
What is interesting is discussion the killed survivor started (it was more like rude yapping with more slurs than other words from the survivor side - surprise surprise, end game chat was always trash in this game for some reason).
His argument was that bodyblocking like this is reportable and bannable, because killer held the game hostage.
Wraith just told them to try and report it and be laughed at, because he didn't hold the game hostage as it was strategy to kill him with minimum effort.
In all honesty I can't find a flaw in this logic, because 3 survivors were free to push the game forward and win so Wraith didn't hold the game hostage for anyone really as he killed that survivor as soon as final gen popped.
If he blocked them for long after the final gen popped then yes, I would agree this could be a case for holding the game hostage, but as it was in that game - I don't think it applies.
So is this reportable or not? Stupid, uninteresting and boring - yes. But reportable?
Edit: Okay I phrase it wrong. People report the dumbest stuff all the time. The real question is - Can this Wraith get banned for doing that?I would agree with other guy and say its not bannable.
I think they need to update the game rules page and remove the hold game hostage from rules page
Only thing I can think is "holding the game hostage" outside of hacks is glitches like xeno getting stuck in the gallows on dead dog and then survivors not doing gens but that would fall under bug abuse and other hold hostage situations would fall under hacks
… as writing this realized there is the abandon if gens have not been done in 10 mins, so I cant think of anyway someone can "hold game hostage" in current dbd outside of hacks. -

Nightlight is not reliable for stats because its fan made (fans of the game upload there games) which means they can exclude games. weather on purpose or they don't wanna upload that game session.

Hi,
I'd have such an easier time if I could let me friends who are new to the game level via playing custom games with me, introducing them and teaching them while they earn bps and rewards and the like. This would allow more ways to play and encourage groups of friends to play custom games more often who'd not normally play the game.
Please consider it! This would be good for new players and for groups of friends, make it happen.
If its the everything unlocked feature of it have it a toggle to allow you to use your actual progression to enable bps or w/eI just want them to add a killer bot so I can test out perks and stuff without having to go into public matches.
I think this would help newer players on the survivor side as well as they can learn maps and mess with perks in customs -
There are steam guides but block every amazon server expect your own in firewall (in this case NA) A bunch of aussie had to do this when BHVR refused to adress them being put in aisa servers. The game pshically cant put you in the server if its blocked in your firewall.
This will stop you personally ever being put in a bad server, wont stop vpners and other bad ping users tho.

I've had multiple p100 killers and have generally had the opposite experience. From what I recall, MMR is considered in matchmaking in special events but doesn't affect your existing MMR, like it won't go up or down. I'm assuming Chaos falls into that. I would guess there's also more speed-based matchmaking right now though, because of how events split the queues.
Yeah might be que times too, was waiting a few mins in-between matches vs normal que tends to be instant
