I don't understand how anyone can call what op said a nerf, If you really still want to go back to hook when the unhook happens just pay attention to the HUD. all it is removing is the notification aspect.

The devs said Ghoul is flat out middle of the road statistically which means that despite all the crying he is actually very balanced.
Be careful what you wish for, I thought the community was against balancing things purely based on stats that's how we get stuff like onryo nerfed.

on the killer side, survivors have low skill high impact builds with Finesse+ Exhaustion. playing m1 killer into this is excruciating. I'm not quoting you because I disagree I think we both suffer from the same issues I just don't know how to reconcile for both sides. The Henry had become a rare killer because people are sick of pre run gameplay.
That's more of a argument to buff the m1s that struggle with that rather then designing a killer around that grievance who is not enjoyable to verse.

what would you suggest? If kill rates and dc rates are average - where do you suggest we look data wise to see where there's a problem? We do know a few bugs with the character also contribute to a few issues, such as the animation problem.
One of main main frustration as a survivor player is the effort the other side has to put in to get good results meanwhile survivors have to put in a ton of effort to counter.
As someone else mentioned the ghoul has a bunch of mechanics, much more then killers that are weaker then him, this is leading to situations where survivors don't feel like they where outplayed they just feel like the killer is playing a killer that takes little skill to play.
I have suggested in other threads that you should either remove the free hit and make him a catch up body block killer (higher skill floor, higher skill expression) or keep the lock on free hit but other parts of kits are going to be nerfed (Low skill floor, low skill expression) This would "nerf" him one way or another but would buff more fair gameplay such as bodyblocking and cut offs and nerf stuff such as Free lock on hits and Stupidly fast vaults leading to free downs in most cases.
We can compare to another killer people consider on top and also some have asked for nerfs, the blight. I personally don't like speed ad ons but with blight there is a level of respect for the other player skill when versing them (not all people do this sadly but alot do) even with drac you mentioned you like versing you can respect a drac who is goated at using his kit effectively and I love versing him too.
The same feeling is not felt for the ghoul and the opposite feeling for a lot of survivor players is felt due to how they require little effort to play with the current free hit fast vaulting ghoul plays. If ghoul was moved to a more fast, cut off body block killer with a high skill ceiling, people would feel the latter when versing ghoul rather then hating it and feeling like the killer put in no skill to do what they did. -

I would agree that Blight needs more effort (and certainly more than Ghoul), but Nurse, while not being as easy as Ghoul, really does not require a lot of effort to be played.
She has a steep learning curve, mainly also because many things you learned on other Killers dont apply to Nurse. But once you got the hang of her, it is not really hard to win most of your games, even if you are not great on her. Blight on the other hand needs more effort, even if he is more compareable to other Killers than Nurse.
And Ghoul is basically the easy mode for everyone who has problems with any other Killer.
Yeah I agree with that for Blight its more effort and for nurse its more of a learning curve.
Both of which kanakei is missing to have the kit he does imo.
-
In regards to video It was a good watch I agree with his end wrap up statement "fix the bugs so killer cant delete his own counterplay and remove auto aim to no longer encourage bad play and instead encourage skillful cut off"

- I'm shocked by only one thing: yes, Kaneki is very strong and truly deserves his "S" tier, but he's still weaker than Blight and Nurse. Why does everyone (including Devs) focus on him and do nothing for the other two killers who are truly problematic? The only counter to Nurse is to pray to God she's not good with her power... it's not normal. I've gone up against "good" Kanekis, obviously he got his down, but I still managed to run a "decent" chase for 20-30 seconds. Against a good Nurse, there's literally nothing you can do. Yes, okay, feints, going to the edge of the map, taking unpredictable routes, hiding line of sight... but I assure you, even these tactics don't work against a good Nurse.
Its because the effort required by the killer to be a good with nurse or a blight player is higher (I mostly see complaints about aura read nurse and I myself don't like blight speed ad ons ) Kankei tho the effort required to be a "good" player is very minimal meanwhile survivors are expected to give there all counterplaying him.
Nurse? Break LOS and use rocks as they can effect her blinks
Blight? Depending on where you are you can use random objects making him use more bumps and potentially avoiding hit with right pathing.
Kankei? well first hit is just free unless you are not seen at all, Then during chase I'm expected to play pallet chicken like I'm versing legion but if I loose the pallet game I go down vs getting injured with legion OR I can do this precise vault back as the ghoul decides to vault towards me (Counterplay taken from videos someone posted in another ghoul thread) -

This is another example of people refusing to adapt or learn counterplay and instead mass-supporting calls to nerf a killer.
Kaneki has clear counterplay — counterplay the community has been vocal about for people to learn for a while.
Talking to players about Kaneki usually goes like this:
Player 1: He’s OP, nerf his vault or something.
Me: You can greed a pallet while he’s in his power.
Player 1: He can fake going into M1.
Me: There’s a clear animation difference. When his tentacles go back to normal, that’s when you drop.
Player 1: But he can vault windows too.
Me: You greed the window while he’s in power. When he leaves power, you vault.
Player 1: Vaulting a pallet after his pallet vault was the most reliable counter though.
Me: If you don’t want to greed, you can drop the pallet and vault it while he grabs you, then vault back over it.
Player 1: His leaps are so fast, he has too much mobility!
Me: Breaking line of sight is extremely strong against him.
Player 1: You can’t loop him because of his leaps.
Me: You absolutely can. In loops, he’s basically an M1 killer. Once you learn how to greed pallets against him, he’s very mid. His leaps can be used to body block in loops, but that’s extremely pallet-dependent and hard to pull off. It’s almost impossible in smaller loops.
At the end of these conversations, it’s always the same conclusion: “Nerf Kaneki.”
Nobody is quitting DBD over Kaneki. People don’t actually think he’s broken, they just find him annoying. And when something is annoying, the default reaction is to ask for nerfs.
The pallet vault bug fix was necessary. Before that, he was nearly useless against good survivors.
Killers like The Blight are still far stronger than Ghoul.
Kaneki isn’t OP. He’s just a matchup people don’t want to learn.
Kankei Is Overturned / Under nerfed we just have to compare to other killers in the roster
This is the Trickster PTB and he got his movement speed decreased too 4.4 a killer who is way weaker then ghoul (a common request on this thread from people in regards to ghoul)
Even The First the newest killer got some slight changes decreased wordbreaker timer and vine attack sound plays slightly in advance so survivors can react
Wesker has died.
But somehow Ghoul is dodging being even slightly nerfed like neo in the matrix. -
I that would be a fun addition !
-
This will be horrid if changes go through and the ghoul is not nerfed in some meaningful way to compensate eg reducing his moment speed and cooldown like others had suggested or even just removing that part of ability seems to have agreement on both sides of debate in this forum going by upvotes.
Us on the forums are more tuned in but players who are more causal are straight up just going to think this killer is broken after trying to verse him if it goes to live.
I hope we get good news regarding this. -

To be fair, neither of then are within the balancing team. (Both balrog and mandy(
They are both just in the middle between us and the game designers.
So they probably know as much as anyone you met outside.
It is a bit sad how we still have no clear communication or guide on how to counter ghoul.
(People can speculate all you want but the only offcial guideline we have was from mandy's comment which got bugfixed)
Yeah not blaming them its just contradicting information about a killer that is extremely disliked on the survivor side is not cool. just baffling saying something is a counterplay only to have said counterplay removed as a "bug fix" the very next patch
-
@Balrog said:

Survivors are not always at the exit gates to be toxic and mean.
Its extremely common to wait at the edge as survivor to bait killer as another survivor is at the other gate trying to get it open, distracting the killer should not be punished.
another situation I can think of is killer is actively in chase, and someone is waiting near the gate to run in a take a hit. they should not be punishing for lingering near the doors and should not be forced to leave the exit gates when match is still ongoing.
I Understand your frustration with getting teabagged at the exit gates but your fix takes away too many other situations that are not trying to be toxic. -

tbh it was always apart of his kit but sometimes id dodge it when it would be a hit so I dont think its a neccessairy bad thing. The one thing about ghoul also is that he makes a sound and animation when his charging the leap so if his about to leap dont drop the pallet and you get another free 1-2 loops cause he has to cancel the leap. ghoul is annoying with the free injury but I dont think he is S tier like blight just because his power cant down and he has counters.
My issue is they have fixed this bug that buffs him, with no consideration of how it feels from the survivor pov to a killer that is already really disliked from the survivor side.
-
Sadly based on fact that hes top picked killer and he has two skins in the top 5 most brought cosmetics I don't think they will do anything more to address him
-
They need to make it permanent
Yes in the very short term ques wont be as good, but they will start to get shorter as the FOMO on 2v8 is gone as its always there.

Do you have any screenshots of these extra pallets?
The only map I've noticed this personally on was crotus pren realm when 2v8 first came out. -
My Theory is that they just have lower pick rates so the people that do play him are really good players combined with newer players not understanding powers as most killers on deadliest killer list have more complex powers.
Everyone that is on the most recent deadliest killer lists don't show up on most picked killers killers. (bar two who tied for 4th deadliest, blight at 8th picked and Ghoul in 1st picked, would also include them in only two not having a more complex power on the deadliest killer list) -
I had one match yesterday where someone was crouching away super fast when killer was coming towards them, the only way I could tell is because I could see her aura as I was on hook and she didn't even have urban evasion so there was no way she could move that fast, killer did not even realize until I mentioned in EGC because she was only speed hacking to hide. (everyone still died)
Just make me think how many people are hacking but are not dumb enough to use it when team mates are on hook and see aura so they never get caught. -
I think the main thing that needs changes is how effective the clocks are, currently they leave too much guaranteed time in power and feel like they can just go right back into power.
I would change it so clocks feel meaningful as counterplay and drain more of the time then it currently does.
Also agree the free mori on last hook needs to go (unhooking someone and getting trapped in power straight away)
In regards to aura they need to make aura not work when hes holding power, like they need to do with nurse. -

I believe the gen speed builds were a direct answer to the huge uptick in tunneling we've seen over the past year or so.
I.e. survivors are loading into a match with a "do or die" mindset.I feel like its a combo of this and power creep from newer killers pushing survivors to be more efficient.
When survivors feel like a lot of there matches are ghoul, they are going to get more efficient on gens.
That leads to the situation where survivors prepare for that and be hyper efficient even when they are not being matched with that.
-
Interesting ghoul is only killer that is in top 5 pick rate and top 5 kill rate.
-
I wonder if bringing back the upstairs library maybe putting a gen up there would make it feel bigger.
It think it would be hard to change RPD size. -
I think its overhyped and if anything sways more towards survivors being the role that is being dropped. here my own personal experience with people I know who have tried the game or played before.
New players - Plays for a little bit but gets frustrated with both roles.
Older players - They don't want to play survivor anymore, I have like 40 or so people on my steam who play dbd, people I used to lobby with now most either don't play the game at all anymore or play killer the majority of the time. -
Really hope these changes where not canceled, it would be stupid if seeing perks of teammates is not added when it is so commonly asked for.

see this is funny to me, because instead of just changing the handful of outliers that are causing problems (everyone know's it's blight) you take the absolute laziest route possible then try to justify it.
but regardless, who cares, survivors get to abuse the living daylights out of crap like this all the time and many of their broken "should not work here but does" crap like powerstruggle being able to feed off perks that boost recovery time allowing for infintite second chances so long as pallets are left.
this is literally nitpicking to appease a overly vocal and frankly very very entitled minority who are whining that a C tier at best perk is screwing over their bullcrap.
either be consistent and start ripping up the nonsense all around, or realize that not everything like this needs to be gutted to appease entitled streamers and the higherups who have repeatedly had issues, it's hypocritical at best and at worst just deeply frustrating and hilariously out of touch
Other killer powers can cause a perk to be nerfed Its not just blight or top tiers.
Main one I think of is Singularity and Haywire, only reason that perk was seemly nerfed so much is because Singularity could hold the exit gates with multiple bio pods and make the gates basically impossible to open combined with remember me. -

Killer bots do exist in 2v8 so I find this excuse irrelevant. Survivors don't want killers to abandon, because they feel the need to make sure the player suffers their bm. That is all it has ever been. And it's been an issue for years even before the abandon system. Survivors want their time respected, but anytime killers ask for the same there are complaints.
yeah there is bots in 2v8 so they should add it to 1v4 and stop the match from ending when they dc so abandon options can be expanded for killer I don't see how that is irrelevant .
If survivors still just dropped dead when they dced they would also have less abandoned options.
stop trying to make this a us vs them when the mechanics of what happens if a survivor dcs vs killer dc in 1v4 is totally different -
@Crowman said:
Survivors asked for the abandon system so they didn't have to wait 4 minutes to die while slugged. Survivors now use the system to avoid watching a 10-15 second cutscene.
Killers ask for an abandon option to avoid waiting 2 minutes for the game to be over. Survivors claim this is unfair.
The double standard and hypocrisy of the community is sad to watch.
Most Survivors only don't want it because there is no Killer bot and the match just ends. Its not hypocrisy its the game treats a killer leaving differently to a survivor.
I don't have a issue with killer abandons situations being as common as survivors IF a killer dc bot is added like Sogo suggested in a previous comment. -

For your ideas:
- The first part is fine but anonymous mode is meant so there's less harassment. I'd propose a compromise of if they're in anon mode they can't interact with the end screen. Can't dish it out if they won't take it as it were.
- Fair enough
- Would disagree with this one as this IS one of the few ways to avoid idiotic cheats. Besides if the killer would dodge due to a simple skin there's different concerns I have.
- Again fair enough
- As long as it's the end screen that's fine, though I don't see how this affects lobby dodges. You'd also hurt a LOT of people's egos with this. That's a good thing but just a heads up.
- I mean it's worth testing global premade messages but I'm going to be blunt, it probably won't end well with how the community can be.
Thank you for feedback!
1. I would be fine with that compromise
3. I only include skins because i know someone personly who has jake legacy but they get acused of cheating if they run the drip.
5. Yeah does not affect lobby dodging per say more so included to give killers some new info that they honestly should have in end game screen.
6. Thats why I think only positive pre made messages should be made so the potiental to abuse it is not there.
-
@Junylar said:
So you want to remove the last resort players have to avoid cheaters? Good idea.
So by that logic survivors should be able to see the killers the exact same way so if they are a known hacker they can dodge?
these changes would make it easier to report a hacker and confirm if a hacker is in a lobby with other people and report them too. I have suggested abandon situations in the past to have killers mitigate hacker abuse but defending a outdated lobby system does not help the overall health of the game. -

Hello everyone,
so… today was the big day I finally decided to come back to play dbd after a long break which I need from time to time and you won´t belive what my eyes saw. Two new survivors and a new Killer and more importantly new archivments which as the person I am like to archive.
So after a break from over 3 months I started playing the new Survivors and got the addept really fast because the Killers I versed werent that good at all. So I decided to did the thing I hate the most about DBD swapping to Killer.
My hands started shaking and my performance annixiety raised high but I thought to my self calm down it is nearly 4 months ago that I played my last Killer round so what could possible the worst that could happen?
Well… after 15 games I finally got my addept after a long series of ending matches with 1 to 2 hooks…
So my question is the following. How is it possible that after a long break of 4 months my Survivor games feel like the Killer never touched the game before? While my Killer games feel like the Survivors know every pixel perfect frame to archive dodges, flashlight saves and so on?
Is it just me?
I honestly think the issue may be from the lobby back filling from other killers leaving that lobby then you get stuck in it.
A lot of the time my pre game lobbies have the killer leave at least once, this leads to people backfilling into the lobby with little regard to MMR. -

I honestly I do not see any diffrence in the pallet spawns in this video compared to last update except for the map that's in the crotus pren realm
First match on mothers dwelling pallet spawns seem the same as before update in the video
Second match does have more pallets.
Third Map Ormand the pallet spawns are exactly the same as before the update
Foruth Map Midwich. Might seem like is has more pallets but dev confirmed in thread they fixed issues where it was not spawning enough.
Fifth map dead dog nothing has changed about the pallet spawns.
Title says 100 pallets but watching the video the crotus pren maps are the only ones that look like they have more pallets compared to before update. -
Sure if we get a killer bot and the match just doesn't end abruptly when they abandon.
Survivors would never see a exit gate open again if this was implemented without a killer dc bot or the match not just ending. -

Technically a killer going afk is reportable as a mod on here recently confirmed. It is reportable due to not playing the game as intended.
Like I said, the killer can abandon after no gens have been done in 10min... At that point if survivors have not done whatever challenges they were doing, tough. Survivors doing challenges is not a reasonable excuse to justify wasting the killers time and not allowing them to abandon, if it was a valid reason to deny killers the abandon situation then it wouldn't be allowed when survivors are not doing gens but instead doing challenges.
im not arguing about the 10 min time out if a gen is not complete, it is a completely different situation to the killer being able to abandon once the gates are open.
One is added to avoid the killer being basically held hostage by stealth survivors. eg. last two survivors just hiding for hatch and killer cant find them. a gen is not not being done within 10 mins in normal gameplay or everyone is going to be dead, even if they are doing glyphs and challenges. (I've seen your posts before saying you play stealth and for hatch so you should understand extreme hiding) side note 10 mins is a really long time in terms of a DBD match, my longest match in my last 20 matches was 13:05 mins
one is a end game situation the game is able to proceed you just have to wait for the end game timer, much shorter then 10 mins requirement regarding the gens. The gates are always going to be open during normal gameplay unless everyone is dead before they open
Yes survivors have more abandon options, but I guarantee you if survivors did not get replaced by bots they would have one abandon option, that being when all are downed or hooked.
I am not opposed to killers being able to abandon and have made threads with abandon ideas when they are being held hostage and ways they could let the killer abandon but continue the trial for survivors, all they need to do is add a killer dc bot, without one its not reasonable, especially in situations such as as soon as the gates are open which was the original comment I was replying too. -
@runningguy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4056157#Comment_4056157
The fact there is no bot is irrelevant, it makes no difference if the game just ends at that point. The killer can abandon and just end it when no gens are done in 10min so it can be an option even with no bot to replace the killer. It seems most people just dont want the killer to bypass the end match taunting but they are ok with survivors bypassing it when its done to them.
Also, the match just ending when the killer abandons when all survivors are at the gate waiting would have no impact on gameplay at that point, The match has been played out, no difference if the survivor walks an inch to end it or if the killer ends it….i mean survivors have no issue skipping the end of the match when they are about to be mori but they dont want the end skipped when the killer is about lose and get taunted, its an ego thing plain and simple.
It can have a effect on gameplay if you think about it for more then a few seconds.
the post I replied too wanted the killer to abandon when the gates are open. in that case the killer can just open the gate and leave, denying any challenges or glyphs they may of wanted to do.
you can say "oh but the match is already ending" but until there is a killer bot it is not fair. legit just afk/ (which survivors cannot do or they get penalties due to afk prevention and go next)
If the situation is exactly as you laid out "ALL remaining survivors are in the exit gate" then sure give them the abandon but that's not what post I replied to was advocating for they where advocating for abandoning once the gates are powered. -
@Vtech said:
Just let hte killer Abandon when the Exit Gates open just like how survivors can throw in the towel the moment things look lost.
Let them T bag a Bot.That's the issue there is no killer bot in 1v4. when the killer leaves the match just ends, if there was a killer bot in 1v4 I think most people would be ok with more abandon situations for killer.

Sadly it was a demopupper and he gave up, if only they could spawn pallets based on the killer. eg blight gets a lot where as weaker killers get less.

The only map I've noticed more pallets on is crotus prenn here is a example from a public match I had. this is only pallets not windows
This pic shows 6 chainable pallets, not including the shack pallet in the far back, there is a gym pallet right behind me
This one also has six pallets nearby to each other/ chainable, gym pallet offscreen behind camera and to the left, you could probably chain pallets across the whole map.
screenshot not captured but there was also a nasty pallet spawn at the greenhouse, greenhouse pallet, one right in front of it then also the long one that spawns inside. -
Anyone advocating for harsher punishments are wrong, it will do nothing and just move the goalpost of what people complain about as you'll never be able to weed out people who are dcing or wanting to go next for whatever reason.
"Survivors are dcing make the penalty harsher"
"Survivors are just afking under the hook penalize them"
"Survivors are just sitting on a gen letting me down them punish them!"
"Survivors are not even trying in chase anymore we should punish them"
"I've tried to force the survivors to stay by slugging and they still are going next they need to be punished"
I personally prefer a bot over a team mate who is not trying.
Edit: wanted to share at least one thing I think could help reduce going next and dcing/ go next and one idea is this:
- remove killer seeing usernames at starting lobby but also remove annon mode so that players names are shown so there ######### behavior can be associated to there profile during game and after in end game chat. -

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I think the reason why the First has guaranteed uncleansable time is in testing he didn't have that and survivors just being able to knock you outta your power as much as you can get made it frustrating.
The survivors don't need to be able to knock First out of power using clocks, but the amount of guaranteed time it currently gives feels to long from the survivors perspective, that's why I think the clocks should take away more time but not drain it completely.
This will reward good first players who are consistently getting shots as it will force survivors on the clocks more often, while still allowing survivors more chances to avoid going back into the clock mode. -
I've noticed that from the survivors perspective when I use fixated my scratch marks are still being shown as if there was no fog vial being used
Side note im not allowed to upvote op 😂 -
I personally think its weird they know its a issue but keep midwhich as one of the weighted maps when its bugged.
-
He needs some minor adjustments in my opinion mainly around how well the clock works as counterplay.
I think the clocks give too much guaranteed power time for how easily he is able to get it back up. I think the clocks need to reduce the timer more then it currently does.
I think more survivors would accept the spammy nature of the power if the clocks felt like better counterplay.
Edit: this would also lead to survivors doing clocks more often as you go in and out of clock mode more often. -
