Yeah Your second point is very true but annoying how killers essentially get rewarded for bad ping and survivors aren't allowed to see a killers ping before the match so they can see if they are screwed or not.
Well, seeing the ping before the match would only encourage lobby dodging.
I dont think players should be rewarded for bad internet. But they also shouldn't be punished for it.
-
I think I've seen a streamer that had around 80 - 82 and played regularly since the games beta.
I was mad impressed, and felt kinda sorry for them.

It's quiz time again!!!
That's the killers ping for you. On their screen they fairly hit you.

yes it would be great feature to teleport away from the hook. Unfortunately, I tested this bug in 3 gens and i killed everyone in 20/20 games. singlurarity is better 3 gens then skull merchant.
That's sad to hear.
Being punished for wanting to teleport AWAY from the hook is the most frustrating part of playing Singularity for me.

Sometimes playing Killer can be difficult. And that really sucks a lot cuz this selfishness from solo Q teammates really makes me stop playing for the rest of the day, it’s very frustrating 😤
Just had a game where I hooked someone only for them to get unhooked instantly the moment I left.
Then I came back and the only one I found was the hooked survivor. I looked around and couldnt fine one. So I went for them again. Down hook. Same thing happened. Then I literally let the unhooked person escape just to check the area for ANYONE else. After about 12 seconds I finally found them.
This is impressive.
Taking agro is part of the team game. I could have made this into a 3v1 at 4 gens remaining.
I dont get why survivors do this. I dont want to tunnel from the get go. I want to go for chases. But if they hide and the only one I find is the hooked survivor I will go for them because what else am I supposed to do.
Luckily this doesn't happen that often.

From when taking hit is means bad play? If i am not mistaken hits and downs supposed to happen no matter what because that's DbD's normal gameplay lmao.
Are you really expecting games with no hits?
I think they refer to fast hits and very short chases. Otherwise it makes no sense.

I feel like there is a good chance that a lot of players will complain about sb/lithe in 2024 (unless the next survivor comes with mft 2.0)
I think we need to differentiate between complains about a perk being strong and complains about a perk being unhealthy.
Sprint burst and lithe are sting but fair.
Old DH and MFT are strong, unfun and unfair.
However, there will always be people that complain about losing.

Killer propaganda is so crazy cause I'm not sure how you can say MFT and DH take no skill and then in the same post praise Lithe for being skillful.
I truly wish you guys would use these perks against killers who know how to play against them.
And let's be real. The only reason you like SB and Lithe has nothing to do with them being skillful and more that both are so easy to ignore because they suck outside of niche cases.
Now that's a hot take.
When did I say that dh takes no skill? When did I say that lithe takes skill?
Also regarding your "killer propaganda". Can you explain what this is? Antagonizing players in an us VS them - format is not tolerated by me and many others on this forum. We try to be open minded and considerate for both roles in this game. Everything else invites a very unhealthy mindset.
" Wish you guys would see players that know how to play against them."
I happen to play 80% - 20% killer - survivor and am known as an obsessive Boop-enthusiast (pig main). What counter does the 3% haste have? I hit a survivor and they are faster. Done.
DH at pallet has counterplay, true. A fraction of a second. That's good counterplay right? Skull merchants drones also have good counterplay right?
Last but not least: sprint burst is an extremely good perk. I think most can agree on that. When using the Perk, you will almost never start a chase outpositioned. That saves you an entire health state. If the killer baits it and runs away, you downright won the chase because they found you to be too much of a haste to deal with. That's also extremely good. In regards to skill: 99% sprint burst mod chase is probably the strongest haste effect a survivor can pull off. Getting two sprint bursts in one chase is skill expression in my book and it's totally fine for me.
Lithe is not as skillfull. Especially not with windows of opportunity. But I'm also fine with that because it's a one and gone.

I mean, if a killer chasing someone for 2-3 min, it's the killer's fault they losing 3 gens at the beggining. xD
In such matches you (survivor) don't need to do anything aside from gens.
I was talking about situations, where you haven't been hooked even once, but your teammates are on death hook. They should take chases and give their team some time to do gens, aside from being a selfish twat, hiding and hoping for a hatch.
It's not what you call: - "Being a team player".
Well...
I play Pig. I HAVE to get a down. 3 gens in doesn't mean I lose. The game gets slowed down drastically. For other killers, I agree.
Dbd survivor is a team game. It's sad that so many people forget that.

pop and pain res are much stronger perks than ultimate weapon, idk why survivors make it seem OP when it isn't really. good nurse will not have any problems winning with nowhere to hide or any other good info in place of UW
UW is even good for the game cause before survivors could counter all info with just distortion which was just absurd, now it's much more balanced.
I do think that perks should have counters. Having distortion to counter auras isn't too strong in any way I think.
Auras are good yes, people with enough gamesense and knowledge can play similar to using perks like Bbq or Lethal pursuer without using them.
I right now play a lot of Stbfl only pig to train my map awareness again.
So far, I'm having great results.

Well thats my conclusion basically. Ultimate Weapon forces you to loop. So if you're low skilled, or going against a killer really strong in anti-loop, then you're basically cooked.
As such the two scenarios it's a potentially problem are low skilled games and high skilled games vs. Nurse, Blight, Wesker and Oni. At all other times it's kinda meh.
Absolutely agree!
The Perk becomes very problematic on killers that are strong. Who is strong? Killer that can end chases fast (sometimes even ignoring the survivors skill in looping like Nurse does).
Is this perk therefore problematic? Yes and no.
If Freddy uses it, he barely gets any value out of this perk. A Doctor will probably never use this perk.
It's problematic like awakened awareness on nurse was problematic.
But that only says, that some killers in this game are problematic in regards to their chase power.

I have no problem with sprint burst or lithe or overcome or whatever you want to bring.
I take you all day. The problem for me was not the exhaustion perk that extends chases. It's the exhaustion perk that extends chases in an unfair way.
Dh: at the end of chase, uncounterable at pallets
Mft: during the entire seconds part of the chase and uncounterable in general.
All the other ones are either a one and gone or are hard to use twice. I can live with survivors using skill in a match. I hope survivors use skill in matches. I want survivors to use skill in matches.
I don't want survivors to run from pallet to pallet with a 3% speed boost just because their windows told them to pre drop it in my face.
-
@Grigerbest said:
Taking aggro for death hook teammates is a crucial part of teamplay.
Survivors not participating in a chases - commonly losing in any matches unless they found a hatch (which is stupid).
It's a very selfish gameplay, no one will "pat" you on a head for doing so.
And I don't understand how it could be fun to hide and do gens for a whole match. It makes no sence to me, since DBD is a game about "interaction" between survivors and killers.
The interaction is also lacking in my games.
But in these kind of games, 3 gens pop in 90 seconds.
-
Playing nice should be the way to go and not be connected to mmr.
MMR mostly uncovers the problems on both sides in terms of unbalance. I very much dislike most of the dbd youtubers and their opinion on the game. They want to entertain an audience and therefore have chill games. On top of that, they want to win a lot because losing causes a negative atmosphere. This doesnt work together when there exists an mmr - system.
I also dislike the opinion, that going against weaker opponents is better, because they have a more fun experience. What is fun for any player in a multiplayer game? In any game at all? Having success. I dont know how you guys feel but i dont feel like i do good when 2 gens are barely completed and 3 survivors are dead on hook. Leaving me to be chased, making all 4 dead on hook. Thats not fun.
A fun match in my opinion is a match, where the outcome is open. I dont know if i win or lose. Both sides have a good chance to win, both sides are equally good (that in itself is another discussion), and both sides bring equally strong stuff.
12 hooking everyone does not mean its always fun for them. Its just longer.

Who knows, they could just be considering it as basekit now. It adds a good level of skill expression to the game, for both sides. Wish they would just give an answer to this so we can stop making repetitive threads and debates.
However, the hug tech does not give a “substantial unfair advantage”.
The locker exploit that was recently patched is a key example of a “substantial unfair advantage”.
I would just like an official statement on the matter at this point.

I suppose it is fine for new players aswell to learn the maps, but you were refering to veterans who know the maps.
Thats my point. The perk is mainly used to NOT learn maps.
From what i have seen and experienced myself, the perk is used in 3 ways:
- Learn maps
- Know which pallets are already used or not used
- Automatize survivor gameplay in regards to chases ( just run to yellow )
Personally, im fine with the first 2. Sadly i feel like the 3rd is the most common usage out of the 3. Please prove me wrong!

I said it should be a universal perk so new players have access to it. Of course new players aren't using it. It's not available to them unless they buy Kate.
Kate can be unlocked with shards. No money needs to be thrown at the game.

@xEa said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3588170#Comment_3588170
It has nothing to do with using memory. The main reason people run this perk is to know where the deadzones are / which palet already got used.
So not about learning maps?
-
@CatnipLove said:
What Otz said about WoO is right. There's too many maps to learn. Unless you are a veteran player, you're gonna need WoO just to have some idea of where anything is. Just make Kate and Clown part of the base roster. WoO would massively benefit new survivors and the Clown isn't exactly popular, or new.
I know people feel like WoO makes survivors worse players, but most people aren't going to play past a couple hundred hours, so who cares. Let them have something to ease the growing pains.
Tell that to the 12.000h players that still use WoO every match because they dont have to use their memory to play effectively and efficiently.
WoO is such a weird perk. It's supposed to help newer players, but is used by people that "should" not need it anymore due to its effect of automatizing survivor gameplay.
The question isn't any more about how to learn maps without WoO but more about why learn maps at all if this perk exists.

Ok, but I’m not going off of “welllll they CAN play this way!”
The reality is 90% of artists and knight play exactly the way I describe. This has been my experience and the experience of many others as I’ve seen on the forums.
And I maybe get 1 in 10 blights who play the way you described.
You won’t change my mind on this, these “antiloop” killers are extremely boring, in that they promote holding W. Nobody likes that.
But that doesn't mean that this is all they can do.
As I said. There CAN be more to them. Same with other killers.
I dont want to change your opinion. I know that many play them this way. Sadly.
I just wanted to point out that these killers are more than you give them credit for.
Also, you can shift w almost every killer. In the same way, you can pre drop against almost every killer. These killers may make this necessary sometimes, but many do this against almost every other killer as well, that do t make it necessary.
-
Why?
Also.... Congrats, you 8.000 post is "yes". XD

No, they really aren’t. Lol
Run to loop, drop a bird / guard, repeat. Very boring gameplay.
Playing them this way is by far not the most effective way to play them.
Both excel in multitasking. Artist can bother multiple survivors at once across the map and can even go for snipes while chasing someone else.
Knight can do a similar thing, bothering at least two people simultaneously. On top of that, carnifex can be used as the most effective pallet break in the game. Way better chasing tool if you ask me.
Sure, people can play them in the boring way, but reducing them both to only this playstyle is like saying : "Blight is super boring. They just use their power to delete pallets and create dead zones to play m1 killer better."
-
Some people want the easiest way to win. They don't care about fun that much.
I had a 4 P100 lobby last week. All in anonymous mode. I literally didn't even had a down. It was this ridiculous. My 5 gens where done in 6 minutes. The match toom this long because I ate 5 bodyblocks for my first down that never happened.
Do you think they wanted to have a fun and interactive match?
It definitely wasn't one for me.
(Btw.... I'm not complaining about high level 4 man swf being completely broken and super unfun to go against, because I know how rare it is to encounter one of these groups)
Some people just don't play games to have the kind of fun we enjoy. They enjoy winning.
Maybe they should also enjoy touching grass.....

Buffing this perk is very dangerous.
Please look up how it was before it's nerf, if you haven't experienced it back then yourself.
-
@Peanits said:
In my experience, most people want both; nerfs to strong perks and buffs to weaker perks. Buffing weaker perks is great, but if you only buff perks to keep up with the most recent strong perks, you end up with power creep. You need a little bit of both to keep things in check.
They might sound very similar on paper, but buffs & nerfs aren't exactly interchangeable. They'll both end up with more perks becoming meta, but that's where the similarities stop. There's a limit to how strong perks can be before they become frustrating. People understandably don't like to feel like the main reason they lost was because the other person/people used strong perks, they want their skill to matter most. Buffing a bunch of other perks to that level doesn't make that problem go away, it just makes it feel like how well you played matters even less, meanwhile the build you bring matters more. Now instead of facing one perk that annoys you because it feels to strong, you're facing four.
But then perks like mft are released that are clearly problematic from the get go.
I do t really get what the thought process in it's creation was.
"let's just make the second part of the chase harder for no effort at all?"
Who thought that this would be fun to go against?
I genuinely would like to know.
-
@crogers271 said:
Sloppy - they should nerf hemorrhage.
Pain Res - It's fine. I could see changing it to 20%, but don't think its necessary.
STBFL - It could do with a slight reduction. 4% per token and stacks lost is 5/4/3.
UW - It doesn't seem to be a meta pick, I've felt like its frequency has dropped off. But yeah, I think the perk should get a nerf.
Other than UW, I think most of the perks are in pretty good place. A few could use a little bit of touch up, but being BHVR doesn't do touch ups and instead tends toward radical changes, we're likely to get substantial changes.
We had a rework of hangman's trick to take the perk from incredibly weak to a different type of incredibly weak and an overhaul of trickster that I don't think anyone was anticipating, so who knows what will happen.
Disagree with stbfl
-
Is this another doomsday - post?

It's a perk that becomes problematic on stronger killers like Nurse or Blight.
What a surprise.
On lower tiers like Trapper or Doctor it's fine and on Freddy it's downright unusable.

Agree!
I rarely say this but, some survivor sounds are so engrained into my memory that I hear them out of the game. Mostly that's Claudette, Nea and Mikaela.
I like the characters but I dislike playing against them literally every game.
But I don't complain about this aspect of the game because I know that some people really enjoy playing as this character and I dont want to ruin their fun.
